It’s a really cool building. There are police that sit in front parked. All day. Inside looks a lot bigger in person. At night, the letters glow for the world to see & admire. I like the history of the building. It’s hard to imagine what Salt Lake looked like when this building was built. I wonder if there were more people homeless back then. The surrounding streets are not safe after dark.

Beautiful, well preserved building. If you're just visiting the building its self, you won't be allowed to explore the 2nd floor but everything can be seen from the 1st floor. Right now there's a golden spike railroad tribute art display (4/30/19) celebrating 200 years.
Parker Sackewitz
Beautiful building. Needs to be a train station again. Our city deserves SO much better than that POS on 600 west. Adopt the Rio Grande Plan and bring SLC into the modern era with style.
Jamal Negrar
Really beautiful old building. The art gallery currently in it doesn't do much for me. Salt Lake City ought to make this a train station again instead of the miserable trailer a block west!

This place is rather interesting with rotating exhibits or events. Throughout the year they host a farmers market indoors during the winter as well as art exhibits and other fun learning opportunities.

This is the historical Rio Grande railroad station. The station is renovated and used by several institutions. Definitely worth a visit for history, architecture or railway lovers.

The Winter Market is my favorite thing held here during Nov -Dec months. The freshly roasted Almonds and the food trucks to the west of the Winter Market is my favorite!

Went there for the farmers market. Seemed very sparse. I got some beef jerky made locally. Very tasty and well priced.

Nice place inside, they have art and a Farmers market on some weekends. But be aware a lot of the area is fenced off due to the homeless.
Thomas Whitelock
Beautiful architecture, very historic. Other that admiring the building not much else to do. Even so, it is worth looking at.

I'm a state board of history member and i believe every utahn should see this building and visit the archives.

We tried to stop by and we're told this place is closed for renovations until 2024.

The lettering is wrong (at least form the era of the pictures that I’ve seen), and it wasn’t in good condition when I went.
Jonathan Fischer
Very interesting, worthy of a further look
Christian Lenhart
Beautiful old train station filled with art.
Bill Lonergan
Now this station said “Welcome to Salt Lake City!”
Holly Wagner
Went for the farmers market! Lots to choose from!
Alex Walton

Micah Baker

Cindy Hanson

This historical building is very beautiful. Right now the building is closed because its being repaired after the earthquake in 2020 and is closed for the foreseeable future (plans are 2024 or 2025 but tbd). The area has a LOT of homeless individuals
