Reviews of Providence Children's Museum
Joan Law Lowell
This is a great little stop for kids about 10 and under! They can touch everything! In fact, they are expected to play with the props while the parent either reads a few little signs or just plays with them, learning about early Rhode Island history. Such a cool place, not to mention the water room. My kids loved it so much over the years. I am now happy to bring my granddaughter there!

WOW, what an excellent experience for our family! We have 2 young boys and they loved every minute of this museum. There were lots of different areas to learn and play in as well as exhibits between each. You can be a masonry, work on a ship, market worker, and many more. There were ample bathrooms all around the museum to change diapers, use bathroom, ect. There was even an entire water room to play in which was my kids absolute favorite part. I think we spent almost an hour there. I do recommend you wear a bathing suit for the star room if you kids like to play in water tables.
The museum truly understands what it means to be a children's museum, if we lived closer we would be there all the time. Great staff too, keep up the great work and donate if you can give anything to help them out!
Lindsay LeBoeuf
Had a great day at the children's museum with my 4 year old nephew. He really enjoyed all aspects of the museum but the water section in the first floor was definitely his favorite. As an adult, my favorite part was he autumnal crafts on the second floor. Being Cape Verdean, I was so excited to see the little education section of the Nellie Mae ship coming to America from Cape Verde and I was able to relate it back to our family for my nephew. Lots to see and do at the museum, the staff was amazing, the building was very clean, and it wasn't too crowded on a Friday afternoon.

We had a fun time at this museum. The staff was friendly and my girls age 2&5 enjoyed it.
Do bring a change of clothes for after the water room .
The only bummer was having to wear masks which thankfully my 2 year old can handle but most simply can’t at that age.
The water room was a blast but I would like to point out there needs to be more grips on the ground because when little ones get excited about the exhibits in there they tend to run and the floor is wet and it’s very dangerous. My 5 yeaR old took 2 nasty spills even after I reminded her to walk.

Great children museum kids will have fun 👍 💯 little costing other than that very nice
Joel Latimer
Really amazing place both kids loved this place and spent 2.5 hours there and complained when we had to leave. Upstairs they have these rooms each with a theme of people coming to Rhode Island in the pilgrim times. Downstairs is an amazing water play area. It was my daughter's birthday today and they made an announcement over the speakers that it was her birthday, which she loved. Staff was super friendly, pricing was very cheap. Loved it alot

Kids have fun but the exhibits have not changed or updated in a very long time. On my experience on 1/16/2023, I walked in, paid and then was told oh just to let you know you close in 45 minutes to clean from 12:30-130p. I was kind of dumbfounded. I would have appreciated that information prior to having paid my ticket prices. I asked if I could come back after they re open, said they would make an exception but did not end up doing so as it was a cold day and had nothing to do for the hour between. Would highly recommend the Fall River Children’s Museum which has a ton of exhibits also.
C.J. Szeglin
Two floors of activities, so there was plenty for kids to keep them interested without over whelming them. Super clean, nice bathrooms, and very friendly staff. There was a water exhibit was soo cool and there was outdoor space with mire activities. It was the perfect way to spend the afternoon with the kids.
Bruce Schaller
This is a great place for kids. The water was a lot of fun. Some of the exhibits in the water area need a little repair, but that didn't bother the kids any. Lots of fun building and a great chance to chat with other parents as the kids do their thing.
Miriam Bejerano
The museum is small but very cute and lots of activities
Spikes LeGrice
2nd time hes been here def a fun time especially for a rainy day!
Mandy Welsch
Great for all ages! We took our 18 month old, and she had a blast, LOVED the water room. Even though most of the exhibits were for older children, they had enough for our little one to really have fun as well, so much so that we turned our one day ticket into a membership so we can keep going back!
Madelyn Marichal
The kids had a great time. Definitely for the younger crowd. We were in n out in approximately two hours. It's very small but got the job done. I probably wouldn't go back but have strongly recommended it to my friends and family with little ones.
Steven Gonsalves
Took my grandchildren, and their parents. Kids were totally engaged, stayed for 3 or 4 hours. Recommended if you have young ones.
Rikki Butts
The time slots are really difficult to go, my little one naps in the morning and afternoons. Also the water play area is moldy. The second floor is always unbearably hot.
Brian J. McGuirk
Amazing kids spot for Providence. The emphasis on interactive play and having kids figure things out on their own is great for tempering “helicopter” instincts one might have.
John Masterson
Great place to take the kids. They offer some discounts which makes it very affordable. A lot of options to play for kids all ages. The water section was very cool. Look forward to visiting again when it's not Spring Break week. Overall, it is still a great time.
Heather Ashcraft
Best children's museum in the region. Well staffed - toys/exhibits were kept tidy and together, broken exhibits were fixed while we were there, help was available when needed. Staff interacted with children-pushing them to explore. Wide variety of experiences that made for a fun and busy day. Many of the best parts of other children's museums were reflected in choices for exhibits.
Both my 6 and 10 year old boys enjoyed the day.
Parking on site!
Non-chain restaurants within walking distance.
Pravin Charles Vaz
A very well thought of, space for kids with hands on activities all around the place. They run group activities for schools as well as individuals. Parent allowed in. Staff is very friendly and know what they are doing. Diverse activities to suit a variety of interests.
Betty-Jean
Just went for 1st time for a birthday party. My kids loved all the hands on activities that they were able to try due to it being extremely crowded. The parking was challenging all the streets going to the museum were full of large pot holes.
Magnum Pi
What a fantastic day at the kid's museum 🎨. My grandson had tons of fun 👍🏻 so didn't my daughter. And poppa had a ball 🏀...
LolaNewYorker
my Babyboy loves it ! its very interactive museum
Kids can play and learn here , its very colorful and the staff its very nice ..
There is a lot to do and teach your kids here .
Barbara Bolich
Well-used but lovely place for youngsters of all ages. Blue Star families get free or Very reduced entry.
Waterplay room, wear one of the aprons. Maybe take dry shoes if you have a toddler!
Toddler area-please don't try to take your big kids in.
Arts and crafts, history, visual illusions, science, etc. We didn't get to everything in 2 hours. There is at least one thing for every kid!
Wheeled chair friendly.
Outside area with caves and climbing.
Eating only in front room.
Fabulous!
Saeed Hossain
Kids loved it. Lots of quality interactive exhibits, a little small but plenty big enough for a morning or afternoon time slot. Will come back if visiting Providence again in the future.
Deiry Polanco
What a great place! I love bringing my children here. There are a lot of fun stuff to do. I love letting them learn and explore. The place is always clean and the staff is constantly organizing and making sure the play areas are neat. My kids favorite is the water room. I cant wait to bring them during spring to play outside (fenced).
Craig Perkinson
This children's museum is smaller than some inside and seemed to be geared toward younger kids. My 10 year old said it might be better for 7 year olds and younger. But the water room was entertaining.
Danielle Fanfara
This was my first time going here and I learned a lot myself and my kid's had a blast. They loved the water area the most but did have so much fun going around to every section.
Richard Dally
Very cute experience for kids. They have a water room, lots of blocks and building toys, and other fun interactive exhibits. My kids are under 5 and had a great time - some of the stuff would have been better if they were older. We will be back next time we are in town for sure though!
Mau Pat
Really nice place. By the way if you didnt know they give a discount to people who have EBT cards. My kids had a great time here. They would love to go here again.
Mandy Elayne
I do love this kids museum especiallywhen my child was smaller. Although, lots of exibits are not open while you still pay full price my kid gets bored fast. No more outdoor tree that she loved to climb and some of the other hands on room should be updated or sto ked with more toys for all kids to get to use. The water room is fun and thats where she usually spends most of her time. Just wish that there was more hands on updated rooms while having to pay full price. I find kids having to wait to play also which kind of bums me out.
Lindsey Duval
Great museum for the younger kids. We played the whole afternoon time slot. They accepted the ASTC passport program. We are always grateful for those museums!
Sonya Fagundes
My kids had soo much fun! Nice, inexpensive way to spend the morning. I do wish there was a lil more to do, bt still great!
Lindsey Raymondo
Great place for kids! Every time we go we seem to find something new to enjoy.
My girls love the water room!
Khurram Hassan
My toddler loved it. It's his favorite Children's Museum so far. Wonderful variety of things to keep toddlers busy.
Val Davis
We had our neighborhood health card so reduced entry. It was a sweet, quiet, and clean place. We had a great time playing and making friends. We will be coming back asap!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy 45th birthday Providence Children's Museum!!
🎂🎂
Here's to many more years of providing children a safe place to express themselves and be creative 🥰
Love Singing
The Providence childrens museum is excellent for children! It helps build many skills such as spacial awareness, agility, motility, and historical awareness. When you first enter it gives much room for imagination when seeing these air tubes with scarfs that you stuff in then fly out. It is so fascinating and never ceases to amaze me at the whopping age of 15! They have an outdoor area with exercising equipment and tubes to go through (which can be scary not being able to get to kids). There are also many cool things up the ramp (so wheelchair accessible) with realistic "historical" sights and leaves room for interest in adults. If they aren't busy chasing toddlers of course! And then watching toddlers and kids run around with the twinkle in their eyes of exploring something new is truly lovely. I could go on and on about all the places that kids will enjoy exploring. Let's mention the cultural diversity that it shows with this little market area showing different fruits in Spanish. (This is one of many that I can't name off the top of my head). Though here are my safety concerns: like I mentioned with the tunnels there are many opportunities for the little ones to get into trouble. For example the climbing stuff the pirate ship and the ladder in the little kids area. There were many times where if I hadn't been watching the kids could of seriously been hurt. So I'd say watch your kids closely especially if they are three and under. I would rate this overall 4.5 stars, but that isn't an option sadly. Maybe this could be better safety wise I'd there were age limits in certain areas and (or) employees watching. Please consider all of these!
Eric Osial
So many amazing activities in a small city museum. Great for toddlers and younger too.
The Phoenix Family
My kids loved it there was so much to do and they learn so much while they were playing we're definitely planning a trip back!!!
Victoria Farley
Both my boys love it here! Everytime we come, they find something new or a different way to play. The museum is set up for a wide range of ages. The membership is worth every penny. You can come year round, no matter the weather. Definitely come and play!
Kent Shaw
We like this place so much, we've both the family membership. I would comment for those without a membership to keep an eye out for free Friday's. More than once I've seen this. I would also say that this children's museum more than others we've visited has a lot more fun stuff for kids under 3. It seems to me many places only cater to older kids, but Providence Children's Museum is for both younger and older.
Krystal Kane
Our 2 year old loved it and there was plenty of room/ activities for him to grow with. We’ll be back!
Chris Iooss
Lots of fun things for the kiddos to do. My 2 year old and 7 year old had a blast. Perfect for rainy days
Madeline Johns
Great and inexpensive way to spend the day without kids! The water room is hours of entertainment.
Ross McLendon
A fun place to bring kids of all ages. Lots of entertaining/captivating exhibits that offer a variety of way for kids to learn. The adults might even find themselves enjoying the visit as well. Its a little on the pricey side, but memberships make things more managable if you plan to attend multiple times. It can get crowded, and the parking lot is pretty small, so plan to come early for the best experience.
Jay Rezendes- The 401 Group
Such a great place to bring the kids to do something a little different. Friendly staff, clean, admission is reasonable at $14 person. My mom use to take me as a kid and I'm thrilled that it's my turn to take the kiddos!
Jennn Partlow
The new Rhode Island history exhibit captivated my three children! All three loved the ship. They also loved the water exploration room and outdoor space.
Darin Dimitrov
My kid loved it! Dropped dead asleep after 3 hrs of play
C Nicole
always a great time with the kids. i see staff continuously wiping down toys and cleaning even while the children are still playing. that comforts me in knowing that they make an effort to stay clean and help to lessen the chance of someone getting sick, although that is still near impossible.
i am giving 4 stars out if 5 because $12 per person over the age of 1 is very expensive for most people. i am aware that there are discounts for people that have certain health insurance (neighborhood health) or have an EBT card, but for those who do not, the price could be a bit lower.
Natalie Reis
This is a really great space for kids. We enjoyed watching our daughter explore and play. The outdoor play area is a big bonus!
Comfort A.M
Was a volunteer during high school & now Im a mother taking our little human to explore the many different spaces. Most libraries allow you to take out passes for museums at half price.
Jenn Francis
Really beautiful children's museum. We had a lot of fun!
Ignacio Dittrich
My kids have a blast here but sadly we can’t go anymore because of the ridiculous mask mandate that requires 2 year olds to a wear a mask. How is a 2 year old supposed to keep on a mask? It’s honestly disgusting. Masks for parents, fine! But it should be optional for children that little especially since mask mandates are over EVERY WHERE else.
Abby Bankson
Super fun! Big climbing structures, outside play area, and water area!
SMIU TEE
Great place to play, learn, explore and have fun. My nephew loved it! It's not a big museum but imo it's perfect for kids up to 5 or 6 years old. They even have a little cool play area outside.
Charlene S
Pros: 1) Tons of creative, hands on play.
2) Great for kids from toddler through Elementary school age.
Cons: 1) No lockers so bring a backpack for an easier way to carry items while there.
2) Areas get very crowded and hard to maneuver around.
Angel Torres
Amazing place to visit with your children. Excellent and friendly staff!
Karen Jimenez
I love the children's museum. My kids enjoy it and they learn new things.
Kristen S
I’ve been here a few times now with my toddler and she always has a blast. The staff is very sweet and helpful. Parking can be tricky on the weekends so if your going as a group I would take one car.
M Carey
You gotta love a place where kids can be themselves...and not have to go digital. Filled with lots of fun, simple activities that help children build up much needed skills, this place is a gem in RI.
Josh Hyman
This place is magical for kids up to 10. Even when it's packed the staff is friendly, professional and efficient. Not to be missed if you live in the area or just passing by.
heather galarza
Kids had a blast! They have free parking as well and take part in the family free Friday events!
Rafael Ferreira
Great time with a ton of activities for kids. Very interactive museum, especially for kids under 8 with easy to do tasks that have good lessons. Excellent area for toddlers and fun water experiments as well.
Gene Farberov
A nice museum, the kids had a lot of fun. Some items are broken but for the most part the kids had a blast for about 2 hours. It is worth going here for a few hours with the kids. There is also an outdoor section with a sandbox and some chairs. Parking is avaliable on site.
Steve Silva
This place is great as a kids museum and awesome as a COVID vaccine site. Went out of their way to make kids comfortable. There was a dog doing tricks, crafts in the observation area, and kids are allowed to check out the museum after getting their vaccine. Thank you for providing this service.
Luz Y. Torres
Fun place to be with ur kids ...
Sreedhar Rao
No words to express. My two year old son enjoyed a lot. Check out the photos.
lawrence teming-amoako
Ideal and fun place to take your kids for fun and experimental projects

Great time, great place to spend some time with the kids

It's a grant nice place for toddlers to play. I love that everyone is required to wear masks!
Robert Palmer
The kids had a blast! Great staff and super clean. Highly recommend and will be buying a yearly pass for our boys!
Con Simon
My nephew had the best time at the Providence children's museum. I decided to buy him a membership on the spot!
Rob Ouzounian
Expect to be pleasantly surprised visiting PCM. Very well organized and well maintained facility with many thoughtful activities for kids of all ages. Friendly and attentive staff coupled with free onsite parking and reasonable prices makes this place a fantastic way to spend 3 - 4 hours.
Justine Santos
Always a blast! I've been taking my 10 year old here since she was a toddler and she still loves it.
Donna Darveau
I took my grandson a few days ago. It is $12.50 per person to get in adult and child which is not bad for a whole day's worth of fun and learning. The first floor has the water tables, vacuum and tubes with scarves with balls very cool, and many other tactile things to do. Up the ramp there is puzzles and brain teasers as well as dress up and many other adventures. It is a whole day's worth of fun. Great place to take the kiddos. As my grandson said. "It was the best day of his whole life" He goes to many places and had lots of fun.
Jennifer Hirsch
This is a small museum, but it packs a lot into that space, and in an incredibly efficient way. It's the perfect size for my 3 and 4 year old kids to spend an afternoon playing. They loved the water room, which is different from anything I've ever seen before, and the historical play areas were another big winner. My older child loved all the climbing and my younger children loved playing pretend with the toy props. It was a fun experience.
ilovewinchesters666
I love the Providence children's museum. It's my go to place for a rainy day. It's small but you can still easily spend a whole day there. Even if you go there a lot, there is always something new to discover. They have different events there all the time.
Amanda Jackson
We were vacationing here from WI to visit family. After our 20 hour ride, I wanted our two little ones to enjoy some play time. I am glad the museum was able to provide that. All the exhibit are very interactive and enjoyable for two kids under three years old. This museum is appropriate for kids 6 and under. So much to do in such a small space. Limited parking in the lot.
David Rutkin
Great children's museum with so so much for them to learn and discover. ADVICE!!! Do the water tables last and bring a change of cloths if your kid loves the water as much as mine
Patricia O'Hara
The museum is great, so much better then the original one that was in Pawtucket. Employees are all pleasant and helpful. Beware of parents who can't control their children and walk off like they aren't with them. Also, granddaughter got clocked in the head by a huge group of keys (maintenance guy amount) hanging on a lanyard by a clueless women who continued to carry them at the perfect height to smack a kid on the head.
Tatiana Ecolastico
Excellent for kids they have so much fun.
Kristen Flint
What a great place to take your kids, lots of learning and sensory stuff. Their group learning sessions are wonderful for the kids who missed out on alot bc of covid. They close to clean and sanitize, and staff are wonderful. Clean, safe, affordable, fun place to go. They also.offer alot of discounts for several different things so ask , its cheap to enjoy a fun filled day.
Steven McFarland
Good activites for children with a wide variety of categories. Our 2 year old enjoyed the water room and the upstairs 4&under play room in particular, but also enjoyed other features. We spent about 2 & 1/2 hours there, and we could have spent longer had he still had the energy.
We don't feel like we missed anything, and it definitely fits nicely between sparse and overwhelming, and it's clear that there are activities for a variety of ages and developmental stages.
taylor parker
Lots of fun for adults and kids and plenty to learn
Bella Angell
Lots of fun! Lots to do with the kids. We really enjoy the big blocks!
Richard Keefe
Brought my grandson there and I think I had more fun than he did!! Perfect for children of all ages!!
Kyle Perreault
The staff is amazing, they actually make sure they're toddlers only in the toddler area, great place for the little ones
Sarah Dorina Smith-Dufton
The children really loved all of the rooms. There is a neat climbing tower outside.
Tayla Grant
Go early to get a good parking spot! Will fill up within an hour of opening on the weekend.
Joshua Klein
Absolutely wonderful place, we stopped here on a whim coming back from Cape Cod and we are so glad that we did! We had a hard time getting our son (he's 1 and he loved it, but there's plenty more to do for older kids too) to leave the water room, and I even had a blast with the things they had there. Very cool place, we are going to make it a traditional stop to and from the Cape.
Becky Baer
Great multi-floor museum, complete with a great water play area, that’s geared for about 1-8 yos . Wonderful, caring staff. Family membership is very reasonable—and it is free for those who have Neighborhood Health (Medicaid of RI) and only $3/per person (over 2) for those who have EBT cards, making it accessible for everyone!
Kevin Ogg
We took our kids here for a few hours on a Friday and had a blast. We spent most of our time in the water room, but the rest of the facility was just as fun. We built several dams in the water room, rebuilding them better with each pass. The shadow box scene creation was simple and clever. The top floor had several building stations with different type of materials (magnetic blocks, snap together blocks, regular welder blocks) and we could've spent another hour just creating. Parking can be a bit tough given the location, but we were lucky enough to get a spot right by the front door.
If definitely go back and my kids would too.
Hailey Hiltz
Great place for children to learn and have fun
Nathan Matthews
For only $12 per person it's a pretty amazing place to spend a few hours. The kids absolutely love it here. It's educational interactive and interesting.
joseph pemberton
A great place to explore, learn and have fun. Many different theme rooms and activities to be involved in. Our 4 year old can easily spend 3 hours there without losing interest in what he's involved in. The yearly membership is a valuable investment for your child's growing experience.
Julie R.
This is a nice place to take your kids to during the cold months. I do wish they changed the stations and updated the activities kids do. I previously had a yearly membership in November 2016 and just got it in February 2019 again and nothing has changed Also, I am a bit concerned about cleanliness of the facility, especially the restrooms-- definitely needs more cleaning and scrubbing! Smells like urine there.
Kim Bennett
This place was awesome. We're from Saint Louis and we have The Magic House which is similar but this blew it out of the park. My daughter loves playing in water and is small for a two year old, so it's hard for her to play at The Magic House, but this had different levels for different ages. She also loved the upstairs and climbing up the tree and going down the slide. There were also a lot of places for parents to sit down if they needed to.
Edward Rolland-Domenichello
Great place for younger kids. My boys are 1 & 3. The 3yo had a blast, the baby not so much, but it's to be expected. Parents with older children should really watch them a bit better around the smaller kids. Not that I'm not watching my own, but having to tell someone elses kids to back off and stop crowding my toddler seems rude, and I hated to have to do it, but a daddy will do what he needs to do to protect his own. With that said, the museum is a great place to learn, explore and grow!
Sean Chantre Moore
My son loves this place, not so much for older kids but 10 and under should like it quite a bit. Nice sensory rooms and I’ve never seen a staff member on their phone. My son had his second bday party here and everyone was happy!
Tim Cartier
Great place to take the children learn and explore
Ali B
Very interactive place for kids of all sizes and abilities. It was convenient to have a place to eat or take a quick break. Having a ramp to access upper level is awesome. When you may feel 'closed in' head to the enclosed play yard to release more energy!!
Everything Star Wars
Great place for children and even adults could have fun here.
Amanda Conti
This is a wonderful place to play, learn and explore. I have had nothing but amazing times with my little ones here. The staff is very personable. They make you feel very welcome there as soon as you step through the doors all the way until the time you leave. If you need anything a little extra during you're time there, they try and help you out if they have the ability to.
Jeremy Matt
Very fun for kids, lots of screaming kids running around. My kids are 10.5 and some of the activities were a bit young for them, but overall they had a lot of fun and I had to drag them out after an hour and a half. The water room was a big hit - glad we went there last. My nephew also loved the blacksmith shop model - he pushed the button to make it go for 10-15 mins straight.
Traci Lawson
We were driving through and when because that are a part of the blue star program (free for military) for a month or so. Glad we did the kid loved it and didn't want to leave. Come prepared for your kid to get wet the water learning center is great. They have aprons but it's hopeless your kid will get wet. This place is perfect for kids of all ages many critical thinking activity for them to do. Could spend a an entire day there. The kid wanted to do the same thing over and over we had to move him along to see most of it. The staff was super friendly and seem to really enjoy their jobs.
Rebecca Farley
Favorite place to bring the kids!! They definitely bring out lots imagination. Lots of different types if learning play for kids all ages! Clean environment and helpful staff!
Ray Harvey
A great experience for the family. Not sure who had more fun me or my son. Great place for kids to learn. Tons of interactive activities. Pack snacks or a lunch they dont serve food. They have a nice area for families to relax and have a snack or lunch. The water room is awesome but leave it for last as they will surely get wet.
Lastly parking is not to good and museum parking lot fills up quickly.
Robert Anderson II
Very fun and educational, but mostly geared towards children in the 4-6 age range. However, when the warm weather comes and they open outside its great for kids 7-9...If your kids are any older than 9 they'll be bored out of their skulls. The staff are great and they usually have interesting programs scheduled. One complaint...Only children ages 4 and under can play in what I think is most fun area in the entire museum- the "reading forest" area with a slide. However, sometimes you'll get lucky and go on a day that the age limit is not strictly enforced.
Randy Evans
Awesome museum, tons of activities, very self-directed (which lets a parent kind of sit back and allow them to handle most of it themselves). Nice outdoor area for when that is an option. Good location for a birthday party, too (and if you tell your guests they get a free pass for the birthday, they can kind of plan a whole day of it). ery fun, very easy, not terribly expensive.
Amy Garofalo
It was a great place for kids ages 1 to 7, lots of fun activities. The water room and truck area were a big hit with my boys. If your child isn't walking yet I wouldn't recommend it. It was a little crazy because of school vacation so if you want to avoid that go on a week day that is not school vacation. There is a small parking lot so be prepared to find a spot on the street, the meters take cards. They only allow small strollers but provide umbrella ones for free. If you have a carrier, I'd say wear your babies.
Tiffany and Houston Hoyle
This is such a fun place to take young children! My two, 2 and 4, love going. There are many different types of activities from sensory play (water room), building (so many types of blocks), imaginative play (whole rooms dedicated to a specific story like a ship, farm, grocery, and construction), art, and learning tools. If you went often, you could really dive in with specific areas especially if you are doing a homeschool topic. There is even a baby/toddler area that is gated in where little ones can roam safely and freely. The military discount is an especially nice touch for our family.

Absolutely delightful! The water room was so much fun. The rooms to explore Providence's history were a lot of fun. The toddler area was a nice break. The staff weren't above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience in all the exhibits. We loved it!
Gregory Berry
MUST SEE!! Outstanding kids museum.. geared towards the younger ones, but lots of room to run, play and explore!
My little ones favorite is for sure the water room! But there are some great informative lessons and history for older kids and some nice info plaques on the way kids play for adults.
Samantha A
This museum was actually great ! There was Tons of things to do with the little ones from a water stations to building blocks ! I especially loved the interactive rooms where you can step into different time zones like the 1600' to the 1900's try on clothes etc. it's really neat! The staff was really friendly and they clean the toys every day which is a plus!
Matthew Greenbaum
We were here for my kid's birthday and it was great. The staff could not have been kinder or more helpful. And they went on the intercom and wished her a happy birthday which she loved. The kids had a great time. There was so much for them to do. Highly recommended.
Gwen Brinlee
Fun place for kids just lots of fun on the water section even I was blown away by what they did with water Great place 5 stars
Zachary Nierman
It was pretty fun. It’s a great place for little kids but it’s tough for bigger kids. It is a bit outdated. They haven’t changed to much since I had last visited 6 ish years ago and this year. To be fair they did update the water room, added a new room, and moved some stuff around. Overall it’s a good little trip
Angelique Kneepkens
We love coming to the Providence children's museum, our youngest children love every single corner of it! We wish though that there were some interesting areas or activities for older children, 10+ years. Also we wish there were some new activities every now and then, like at a museum, with temporary exhibits. But it's still a great place to go with children!
Krystal
Love love love this place! What's not to say, the environment is friendly, toddler safe. My almost 2 year old loves coming here! If you have Neighborhood Health INS of RI you can get in for free too, which is very nice treat for families on a strict budget. Can treat your kids toma fun day without hurting your wallet. Mom to two boys under 2.
Jeff Robinson
I can't overstate what a great time my two-year-old son and I had at the museum. Wonderful exhibits and a great indoor play space for children's four years old and under. Be sure not to miss the really cool water play room on the first floor.
Kevin Glynn
A great but not too big Children's Museum. Free if you're a member of the Boston Museum of Science.
The water area is really awesome. There are water features with whirlpools they can throw balls into, carbon dioxide from hidden dry ice making awesome fog-water features, and more. Fun mirrors, play spaces, super cool stuff.
Frank Juhasz
So... We visited on a rainy Sunday during Thanksgiving week and PCM was mobbed. But it was also completely charming. Room after room of big interactive play. Including a dedicated waterplay room !!! Great staff that are helpful but in the background as toddlers to seniors explore and explore, discover, and play.
Rhine Merten
nicely designed, the water room is quite good for all ages, there is a great fenced in room up stairs for younger kids. There is almost always an attendant around to make sure order is maintained. The out door play space is very nice with tunnels and a really cool climbing structure.
Price was a bit high for my taste but if you live in the city a membership is very reasonable.
Tim Malone
Great children's museum. Just enough to keep the kids entertained without overwhelming the adults. The water play area is excellent. They also have some outdoor areas that are lots of fun, as well as a place for the little kids (under 4) to play safely.
joe marchetti
Nice stop for the kids. 5&7 yo. Kinda crowded, everyone, customers and staff where friendly.
Keep water play area for Last! You don't want to play everywhere else with a wet kid.. Wash hands after water area... Too cold for our side play til spring... FYI EBT or SNAP card gets you a discount. Plan for 1 to 1.5hours..
Ross Burnham
Decent amount of nearby parking, and it has a bunch of stuff for kids to do. Staff is friendly, and it is pretty clean. We went for the afternoon and decided to buy the Membership an hour into our visit. Great place to take your kids. It's not a huge place but there is enough to do.
Raymond Ramos
ook my grandson here age 19 months. Lots of things for the little guy to see and do. some things he does not understand yet but the next time I am sure he will as he is a smart little guy. It was great seeing him smile at the things he did understand and he ran aroung looking at each new thing. It is a safe place. a very nice staff but suggest going early if possible to avoid the crowd. Not expensive and well worth it. Will be going back soon.I could relax as well and that was a real plus.good parking.clean.a go to place
Billy Badtouch
Nice environment but adults really shouldn't be charged full admission unless you want a grown man climbing the outdoor tree tower. My 6 yr old always wants to go and there random event's are a real nice treat.
Sophia Chaviari
You will not be disappointed to visit the childrens museum. It is small enough to fit into a morning and packs a lot of fun. Try the outdoor cave and the green climber if it is a nice dry day. The downside is that the parking is extremely limited to a few spots, so you may need to have change for the street parking meters.
Mark McC
The kids really enjoy visiting the museum and have a lot of fun with the activities. Staff are pleasant and helpful. It may be smaller than other museums we've been to but we can always get a good hour or two before the kids are ready to leave.
Christopher Thomson
Good place for kids to expend some energy and have fun. Definitely some learning opportunities but the kids just like interacting most. Two floors. Lunch room. Easy to spend a few hours there.
amy p
Really has been the same place for years. Could use some updating, new exhibits and some better supervision from staff. Grocery items are everywhere on the second floor except where they belong, which is in the store. Parents letting their kids run wild, especially on the ramp to and from the 2nd floor, while they are busy looking at their phones. Wanted to play in areas where pieces of the exhibit are missing. Not sure you could spend more than 2 hours here.
Jake Bushnell
So many little rooms all over this place that are great for kids to learn about electricity, circuits, gravity, abstract shapes, history, lights and so many other things. Too much to do in one day. But if they want to get wet in the water room make sure to bring extra clothes
Jessica Del
Great, clean place for children to play and learn! My one year old son had so much fun! But I must say, some of the kids that go there aren’t very friendly or have no manners. Two little girls took a toy from my son then pushed him. Their mothers just stood there, grabbed the girls and left without saying anything. Another kid tried slapping my son’s head but totally missed! Teach children how to be KIND!!!! It’s not hard.
Scott Davis
This place is great for the price and certainly a fun way to spend a rainy or cold day with the little one. Sometimes it can be a bit crowded and crazy, but that’s not really their fault. Kids are kids.
Worth checking out and maybe grabbing the membership. Also, a little (not-so) secret, Museum of Science pass works here!!
Jennifer Johnson
I’ve been to so many children’s museums. One of them compare to the simplicity and quality at this museum. They offer military discounts and regularly have outside activities. We’ve attended a music class and a build a bear clinic all unexpectedly. The museum covers a lot of ages too. The placards are useful and understandable. Love it.
Jason Anglyn
Despite the name... there are no exhibits of children. But there are a ton of cool areas kids can play and interact with each other. I recommend getting the membership for those cold winter months where little timmy can't go outside and play.
Andrea Siegel -Salhoff
Fantastic space for children young and old. Well set up, lots of hands on activities. Not just a play space like so many children's museums. Had exhibits about the founding of Rhode Island, and an amazing water room. I would buy a season membership if we didn't live 3 hours away.
Miriam Goldstein
This is a very successful example of a children's museum aka educational indoor playground. We especially liked the four stories of immigration to Rhode island where the kids could play and act things out. Small but chock full! I also loved that they allow families to bring in food and provide picnic benches and places to eat.
Ivo Dobrev
Great place for kids of all ages. Wonderful and creative play areas. The water section is one of our kids' favourite but do bring a spare set of socks and shoes as it could get a bit wet.
Marie Delmonico
Come early for good free parking onsite. Avoid school vacation weeks. Two levels full of activities, water table room and outside space. We love coming here. Plenty of bathrooms with steps for the kids to reach and changing tables. Bring some snacks Theres a nice space for eating, sink to wash hands before eating. Trash and recycle receptacles available.
Heidi Townsend
This place was wonderful! Lots of things for the kids to do and explore. My 20 month old really loved the water areas and running around upstairs. We went on a Saturday and It was a zoo. There were so many kids and parents you could hardly walk. We went because we have a bank of america card and on the first full weekend of the month you get one free admission. I personally think it's stupid that parents need to pay to get in when it's for the kids only. It isn't like the parents play a bunch with all the stuff. To have admission $12 is ridiculous. The amount of things for kids to explore is unsurmountable really. But with fewer people it would have been much more enjoyable. I have to say that the majority of the children were well behaved and being watched by their parent or someone. But there were a few bad eggs especially in the water area. These three boys were clearly brothers and were bullying everyone around, ruining playing for any other kid and getting water everywhere. They splashed my daughter in the face so hard she cried. They had no parents around. It's as if they were dropped off and let loose. No supervision or decipline from the staff (though that's not their Job). If it weren't for the amount of people and these three children it would have been a more pleasurable place.
Amy Macedo
It is a wonderful museum and they are constantly making changes, so it feels fresh. Sadly, the museum ignores the 8+ demographic of children. My 9year old and her friend were bored after an hour, because there just isnt much to do. I do wish there was a section for older kids, just as they have Little Woods for small toddlers.
Cate Massey
My kids (1.5 and 3.5) loooove everything about this place! Easily hours of fun. Well laid out, friendly staff. The water room is a highlight, as is the outdoor climbing tower for my big kid.
amanda robles
This is such a great fun educational place for kids. They get to have fun with pretend play and learn new things. I only wish parents would understand that it's not okay to bring your sick children here. We've been twice and have run into some many sick kids. 2 days later my kids have the flu.
Jegan Mohan
I went to this children's museum having heard a lot of hype about it. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed. That is not to say that this place is not fun.
One finds a lot of stuff for the kids to learn and have fun. Multiple activities to keep the kids engaged.
The water activities were nice and the depiction of how people lived in different environment were though provoking.
However there is this eerie feeling of this place being a bit dull lingers. Maybe I will go there another time but cannot imagine this place being top on my list of places to visit.
Shaquanna Brown
Fantastic children's museum. My 2 year old had a BLAST. They have an awesome water table room and all activities are great from toddler through early elementary years. We can't wait to go back.
Becky Stevens
A great children's museum with lots of interesting things for all children to do. Was perfect for my granddaughter who is in a wheelchair as she could participate in just about all the activities and get around easily. Might just do a return visit before we move out of the area later this year.
Mgtow Man
Took my daughter here. Pretty awesome stuff. At the end of the "tour" there is a water area where the kids can submerge plstic toys in artificial rivers and waterfalls. There are rain coat style aprons for the kids so you dont have to worry about them getting soaked.
Susan Martin
We had a great time playing and learning. Plenty of things to do and it wasn't too busy!
the pigeon
This is my children's favorite place. We spend hours here and it's always a wonderful time! The staff is professional, polite and genuinely love what they do. Get yourself the membership! Saves money and it's a great investment!
J Carroll
This place is awesome. Took 5, 3 and 2 year olds for our 1st time on a Sunday morning at the beginning of April. Parking was easy, though Google didn't know where the lot and front door were, so we had to use our brains a bit (on the hospital side, btw). Once inside, everyone was active, entertained, and even a little awed. It's big enough to keep everyone active, but not so big as to be overwhelming. The 5 year old is already panning or next visit. We're excited to go back!
Lori Willis
What a lovely children's museum. So much to see, touch and do! If the kids gets antsy, there's even a small playground to give your child something else to do! Great for busy hands and feet! Great place to spend a couple of hours. The earlier in the day you can go, the less busy. There is a water table, so come with a t shirt change.
Zach Scott
Great time and good crew cleaning things to keep it safe!
jairah zinni
The place was clean and they had a lot of inventive exhibits that induced thought and imagination. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. My 3yr old had a great time and enjoyed every room they displayed.
Kent Brannon
After experiencing the Niantic children's museum in CT, I wasn't expecting much here. Boy, was I wrong.
We won tickets, so I can't remember the price which is likely a consideration for many. Bit there is a ton of stuff to do here, and a one-time visit for visitors or a yearly membership for residents may be a worthwhile investment.
There is too much to list here, but a ton of science, history, and imagination-oriented play abound. Kids can perform structured science experiments, play pirate, build water-works and much, much more here.
Have Fun!
Sharon Byrne
We have been to many Children's Museums, and I have to say the staff at Providence Children's Museum were by far the most engaged. The started at entry with a "She's going to love it", to a meltdown eliminating sticker when it was time to leave, and just about every moment in between. The water room was wonderful and I had to coax my daughter of the room so she could enjoy the other areas. I noticed multiple employees wiping down and cleaning areas. Another performed active maintenance on a ship display without interrupting the children's use of the ship.
We have family in the area and plan to make this a regular stop each time in the future.
rnelson3646
Fun place to bring the kids ages 6 months and up. I'm a big kid, so I had a blast with my kiddos. Definitely a place to check out when you're stuck in doors due to foul weather. I recommend checking it out!
Anabel Perez Malone
really great museum! my little one (2) loves this place and it's even got a few things my older one (8) enjoys (mostly the outdoor climbing structure and the water play). you can easily spend a couple of hours in there.
Kristen Lawson
Great hands on activities for kids off all ages, but I would say 2-9 year olds will get the most enjoyment. Very cool water station! You can bring your food and eat in a separate part of the museum. There are also some great restaurants close by like Olga's and The District.
Andrew Layman
I was extremely impressed by this medium sized children's museum in Providence. It had two floors and was pretty packed with different places for my 3 year old to explore and play in. Parking was free and the museum itself was 9 dollars which I thought was quite the bargain for the amount of things there were to do. We'll definitely be coming back.
Nadine Charles
Haven't been here since I was really young, still the same with all the same things.. boring for me now obviously but the kids get to run around and explore whixh is really good for them, they all seem to love the water section the most where they put on water proof jackets to protect their clothes and play in water fountains with a bunch of toys. Depending on the kid you can sit baxk and allow them to run around until they're drained and ready for a nap or something
Chantelle Messier
A top-notch museum with tons of options for creative and educational play. The hands-on "exhibits" are suitable for kids at any age, even babies. I love watching my 2-year-old's thought processes as he challenges himself with the equipment. It can get crowded on weekends, so I prefer weekday visits. The free lockers and lunch room makes it easy to pack a bag lunch and stay all day.
Courtney Farfaglia
Great value for all the different areas. My public library had passes that gave me half price admission. Parking lot was ample sized and free which made it convienent to visit with a baby. Really enjoyed the pretend play and water exhibits.
Shawn Stjean
Great place to let the kids be free and creative.
Nadia C
We stopped by on our way to Newport during our recent vacation and my daughter fell in love with the place. Of all the things we saw during our four days in Rhode Island and Massachusetts she talks about this place the most. Great job to everyone for creating a fun and educational place for all kids.
Robin R Johnson
Fantastic place for 2-6 year olds... just the right size with some great multiplayer exhibits. Feels expensive , but is on par with others and about the same as taking the family out for a movie — only much more educational!
David
It looks small and in a weird area, but this museum is fantastic. We have been once, and it's leaps and bounds better than Boston. They don't seem to have a restaurant (or cafe-like place) as you may expect, but just bring a lunch. They have a nice place to eat and let the kids play.
Christina Rogers-Monteiro
My kids and I love going to the children’s museum! Such a great place to release some energy and get creative. It’s really easy to get to and parking is usually no problem (sometimes it gets super packed on the weekends). Would absolutely recommend coming here!
Regina Paltis
Great museum. On a crowded day, it still doesn't feel too crowded inside but parking can be hard to find because there are limited spots in the lot. There is a place to eat your own food inside the museum but you can't buy any food or drinks inside. Be prepared for your kid to have wet shoes after visiting the water room. You may want to bring extra socks and shoes. They give you protection to wear over your clothes to prevent your clothes from getting soaked. Great place to eat near by is Olga's.
Kathryn Morrison II
My family loves the Providence Children's Museum. Throughout the year they have new interactive themes which is fun learning and exploring for all. My son loves to play in every area. Staff are very friendly.
Kayla Henderson-Haskins
We love the Providence Children's Museum!
Daniel Fitzgerald
Great place for children. Our daughter is 4 1/2 and loves going there. You can reserve the dining area for parties, and the kids can touch and play with almost everything!
Jamie Partridge
The Providence Children's Museum is a fantastic place for families to visit, especially with young children (10 and under). Each section of the museum features different activities that involve gross and fine motor activities and encourages exploratory / imaginative play. For example, there's a grocery store area where kids can pretend to shop, cook, or work the registers. There's also a ship, construction site, a building area (blocks, magnet-tiles, and other building toys), and a gated play area for children aged three and under. There's also a room dedicated to water play, which my family thoroughly enjoys. They also have a fenced outdoor play space, which has rubber flooring. The museum is mostly accessible for individuals using assistive technology (it has accessible bathrooms, a ramp to the second floor, and most of the themed areas are spacious...minus the grocery store, ship area, and farm house area).
While admission can be expensive, families can either purchase special passes through their local library or purchase a museum membership, which is absolutely worth it! Highly recommend families visit PCM.
Hussain Kapadia
A must see if you're in Providence. The water area is a good learning and fun experience for the kids. And do not forget to visit the 2nd floor. It has some decent stuff to test your child analytical skills.
Douglas Mercer (Douglas)
Great place to go if your kids are under 10 I tried to go there but my kids are 11 and 13 and although it is a great place they
don't cater to older kids. They still get a five star because it was a great place when my kids were younger.
shannii pandaa
We love it here, and go multiple times a week. My 2 and 5 year old girls adore every exhibit and I can see them growing and learning as they explore!
My ONLY qualms are parking is tight on occassion and also the first time we went we spent our last 36 dollars to get us all in, when all we needed to do was present our EBT card to get in free! Recently they've been asking people before they pay if they get public assistance, which is nice. Really wish they had a little sign saying that policy because some staff may not be as prevalent to let people know about it!
Jeremy Goldenberg
Lots of fun things, especially for toddlers. The water room was fantastic. They also had this super fun climber outside for bigger kids (4 and up)
April Lambert (Lav)
Pretty good but the "Coming to America" section STILL leaves out accurate information about native americans. When are we going to stop whitewashing history so that it seems like white people were the only people who were here in the beginning?
Brihanda Garcia
A little crowded but that's expected on a Saturday.
Great place to bring my princess on a rainy day. And the fact that with showing my SNAP card we get free admission. It's an awesome fun inexpensive day out with my little ome
Rosanna Mendez
The "exhibits" are outdated and fail to really grasp a kids attention unless your child is really good at focusing, then some of the exhibits will be good for them. There are exhibits that are more like group play, like an indoor playground. Stay way from this place on the weekends, it's a madhouse!
Katie Mellett
My 5 year old son loved this place! Very friendly staff, clean and organized play areas! A great place for kids to play and learn! Parking easily accessible too!
Cammy Boisvert
This place is so much fun. It has a great adventure inside and a really cool play area outside . My children love this place, free parking and a lots of admission discounts available, check the website
Arianna Martin
Great for kids 3 and under. But nothing for kids older and the prices were pretty steep in comparison to those of Bostons Children's Museum, who also offers 5x the amt of space and truly fun things for children (and adults!) Of all ages
Amy Loreck (Emiline)
This is a wonderful place for children. My kids have enjoyed it thoroughly for 8 years and haven't grown out of it yet. Great place for a play date or visitation.
Henry Savelli
A great place to take the kids! We took our three grandchildren, and they were totally captivated for almost four hours. Tons of things for them to see and do.
Ms Joy
i try to come here early on the wknds; it’s good for the kids

Take the family, you'll have a great time. Been here on 2 occasions and had a great time both times. If you close by you can become a member or pay per visit which is now $12pp adults and kids. Prices went up which is disappointing but, you can play the entire day, leave and come back. There is a small parking lot and if you can't find parking there is also street parking which is metered. This place has lots for kids of all ages. There is an indoor sitring area to eat & drink if you want to pack a lunch. The best part is the indoor water play room. Kids get to play amd experiment using water . Each area and corner has differnt experents and truly uses the space wisely. On the second floor there is more areas such as a forest for kids 4 and under. There is an area dedicated to telling atories of different kids and how they came to area along with things for the kids to crawl and climb on. This place keeps their brains firing and thinking the entire time. It can get a little busy and stuffy im some areas. It does help that the staff is very friendly. If the kids want out there is ecen an outdoor play area. You can easily spend hours here. Great place for a rainy day trip.
Matt Binetti
Take your imagination and throw a stick of dynamite in it and kablooie. You've got Providence's Children Museum. The pedagogical thought put into this place is mind altering. They did a fantastic job designing this place and covered all the must-have-yous: history, geography, science, building, fantasy, experimenting, splashing and just good old roughhousing. There's a cordoned off toddler space that's attended by an adult, indoor and outdoor areas and party space for rent. Toss in an annual line-up of events and activities and you've got everything a parent needs to inspire their kids. $9.00 for adults and children; babies under 12 months and members ($100-150 per year) get in free.
Rosa Almanzar- Rodríguez
Great time at museum. Parking was rough, ended up waiting ten minutes for a space to become available. A lot of inconsiderate people go to their car, and instead of driving off quickly, stick around doing all sort of things. All sort of things, just not driving out of the parking space.
Patrick Crough
We walked in and turned right back around. Reminded us of a Chuck E Cheese or FunZone type of place. Kids running all over while their parents are zombified by their cell phones. Probably a lot of fun for some, but definitely not a learning environment.
Ashish Gupta
It's a very good place to bring young kids, they can spend hours exploring this place. There is an area where kids can play with water. They have an outdoor play area too. Parking is little tight tough!
James Mitchell
My one year old daughter had so much fun her favorite part was the water.. we definitely will be coming back. It's also very affordable for the family
Kara Hines
Kids love it. Has a great outdoor space too. We easily spend 3 hours there with my 5 & 7 year olds.
Nancy Worthen
My 5 year old grand daughter loves the water room as well as Coming to Rhode Island. And I really like the Creativity Room, with lots of art projects.
Piers Platt
Great for kids of all ages, our three year old loved it. Not just a souped up playground, definitely an emphasis on learning. Parking can be a bit tight, especially on weekends.
Deon Gomes
A great place to bring kids to play and be creative and parking is free !!!
Ruben Ramirez
Great place to take your kid so much to do love it
Christina Albino
My 2.5 ur old son loves this place! We go often and never a dull moment! Only improvement would be their "toddler activity classes". They need more ideas.
Melissa Mitchell
So much thought put into what kids like to do, and can do in an environment that is open enough to run and play while somehow still feeling cozy. Strongly recommend the family membership!!!
Nancy Smith Worthen
This is a favorite place for my 4 year old grand daughter. Waterways is her fave! But she always find another new thing to explore each time she goes.!
Donna
Lil pricy for 1 day...but cool
Thales Da Riva
Awesome place for a family fun day. Lots to do and explore. Indoors and outdoor play areas for all ages. Multiple rooms for several types of playtime for all ages
Ken San
nice place for kids to play and learn some science
Wenyjim valerio
Best place for children to have fun and learn while they are playing. My kids enjoy specially going to little woods and water ways and I love to have this space to play and learn with them at the same time.
linds b
My son had a great time! There was lots to do and the water area was so much fun. It was his favorite part. Definitely will return.
Marc P
Daughter loved coming here. The vacuum system and water tanks were her favorite. Price wasn't bad, wish it wasn't the middle of winter, she would have liked the outdoor exhibit.
Angelina Barada
Me and my family had ana absolute blast! Its was really busy but its was still so much fun. My children made a little friend in almost every room 🤗 …
Anthony Morton-Aiken
Lots to do, well laid out, fun for a broad age range (mine are 2 and 4) but always crowded, arrive early or late for fewer people. Crafts only 11-2 usually but they can be worth the crowds.
Yvette Rogers
My son absolutely loved everything about the museum. Wouldn't recommend for older kids like my 11 year old but it worked out because while he was at school I took his younger brother (two years old) and he loved it and there was so much for him to do :)
Erlin Sanchez
Awesome place for kids love it.
Jenn Manning
Great little place. We went early and it wasn't too crowded yet. My 18 month old had so much fun!
christine Buckley
Amazing experience with my daughter. She had an amazing time staff were kind. And helpful friends also. Thank you. Thank you to the amazing staff who helped my son when he fell and slammed his face. They were supportive caring and loving to me in such a crazy time. I cant thank you all enough for being an amazing team and hard working. Anteaus is fine and although he dis need stiches it was a amazing experience at the childrens musuem
Elyssa Smith
Little ones had a blast. I do think it's a bit wacky to charge adults full admission as we are basically chaperoning but the kids had a blast. Would definately go back.
Wanda Richmond
There were interesting facts about RI, but most children are young and are not reading. Was disappointed that they didn't have the Twister's game like Boston. My grandgirl at two thought it was a disco and enjoyed dancing.
Andi Banandi
I didn't go in, we were parked waiting for the AAA guy, but we could hear a bunch of children and it sounded like they were having a good time. I used to really like going here as a kid.
David H
Best money spent. My 6 year old loves it. annual pass is the way to go as I go 2-3 times per month.
Recommend doing water area last as he gets soaked !!!!!!
Kelly Coburn
Love this place! This is a great environment for small kids with plenty of fun learning opportunities. Most importantly my son really enjoys it here!
Liza Doughty
Me and the kids had so much fun! You can really get lost in time going here. There is so much to do!
Matt Blackburn
Great place for children 1-7. Clean, lots of activities, friendly staff! My 1 and half year old daughter loved the water play area in particular.
matthew willits
OMG! My kid Loved it!! He couldn't get enough of all the exhibits, after 3 hrs we had to go and he threw a fit on the way out, not wanting to leave 😅😂 …
Debra Parker
An awesome place to take children. There are so many hands on things for children to do and ways to learn.
Katie Marie Freeze
Fun for all ages. If you have littles that like to make a mess bring extra clothes because the water area is large! Military was free for up to five when I last went. :)
Adam Salter (Salter motorsports)
awesome place for kids my daughter was of the younger bunch there at 2 years old but she absolutely loved it theres a lot going on but spaced out just right so that they can take the time and see how things work mechanically as well as physically and in turn you see their little minds just sucking every ounce of it in. we even had fun! great place only thing was one of the staff members wa falling asleep in the play area, of all places to have to watch kids climbing and running around. other than that a well deserved 5 stars, oh they accept all types of ID cards such as military wic food stamp student and too many others too even remember i think library card even. anyway it was a bit expensive at $13 i think per person and was going to be $39 but i showed a student id and we payed $9 not each, total. so bring some sort of learning or helpful in society identification. have fun!1!!!
Cheryl Machado
If you're a first time visitor this place is great! Here's the problem I brought My grandchild here. She had a ball, very interactive but the exhibits are the same ones I brought My children to and they are 25 and 18. That's ridiculous.
Ben Roberts
We have twins and they love it here. There are things for all ages. Even as small as they are, there is an area just for young kids. The water play area is their favorite though.
Monique Santos
How can you not love this place! It brings you back to when you were a kid! There's just so much to do inside and out. My kids enjoyed it so much! Even my fifteen-year-old!
David Glickman
Lots of fun!!!! Can keep your kids entertained for hours. Good place to meet up with friends. Whether it is rainy or sunny defiantly check out.

This was a great experience! Only downside is there is no cafeteria so bring food. Kids of all ages can enjoy the exhibits and learn. We especially loved the water room!
Killa K Milla
Really enjoyed it. Took my son there when he was about 1yrs old. Wish they had a little more for toddlers to do but otherwise still awesome
Michelle Baker
So much fun for the little ones! It’s also free if you have Nhpri. If you have nothing to do and not a lot of money then I definitely recommend this place for your little ones. So much to do ,great time.
Jessica
Awesome way to kill time & energy for kids.
Gets alittle packed during off school hours
Anyone with state medical card can get in free

Our son (2 years old) have played like crazy! This is a real good place for children, so if you have children, you should go there without any hesitation!
Family Vyff-Trice
The giant ramps are worth the especially on poor weather days. There is great detail put into all the activity areas, well run children's museum. We've been to museums across the U.S. and this is a fav, especially for the Boston area.
Jessica Cardoso
Very cute place, my 21mo had lots of fun! 2 floors of activities.
Was a little crowded (expected on a Saturday) so plan accordingly.
Jay
If you haven't brought your children here, do it now!!! Amazing environment for kids, learning up the wazoo! Free entry for neighborhood health plan card members also!
Kimberly Howard
Great place for kids of all ages/abilities...and parents too! Definitely go early to avoid any weekend crowds. Excited to return!
Julia Rae
This place is great for children to explore at all ages to learn new motor skills or get better at ingress they already have, my son loves it during the week when it isn't as busy since weekend's can be pretty packed, free admission certain days or times of the month, free with neighborhood health plan, any state insurance, food stamps, or state assistance such as the anchor card for up to 4 ppl. Hard to reach real ppl on their phone number but hrs are usually very accurate online for holidays such as veterans day they were open.. music play, water fun, a big boat they can explore and many exhibits to play in featuring a kitchen, and little house rooms that you and your children can both fit in. I would recommend this place for all ages up to 13 14 but it depends of course what the child enjoys, friendly staff, not too much parking especially when busy but if you get there fairly early you should be good, they provide carriages and recommend you use theirs since it is better for everyone getting around, cafeteria to eat, no food provided or sold, and many events here you can attend and find on the event page of their website.
Matthew “Duke” Bernstein
Very close quarters, with not much room to enjoy the various activities. Great for kids ages 3-7, but again always seems crowded with very little space to move around.

Great place needs more parking.

An indoor play area for kids and family, with limited formal educational value. To call it a museum is a stretch, yet it does add an element of historical appreciation when climbing in a faux timber house.
Ruben Sandoval
$14 a person...not sure I'd do it again. Kids had an afternoon out of it.
