Reviews of Hall of Flame Fire Museum
Ghost Town Curator
Loved this museum! Everyone we met was passionate about telling the stories and saving as much of this history as possible. This huge collection has something for everyone and a great kids area with interactive activities. Plan at least a few hours, there is so much to see. That way you won't be rushed and can take your time at the interactive displays and videos.

This place is amazing. So much fun and it seems never ending. There is a lot to see and do. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We really found it interesting hearing the real time fire dispatch. There is a plethora of exquisite fire trucks and buggy’s. My son and I had loads of fun. He loved it as a baby and really enjoyed it as a tween.
Lucy Craig
Most importantly, we previously cherished this spot! The children have a great time sprucing up, jumping on the large fire engine, and it seems like they hold adding new things to the play region. The Halloween occasion is likewise such a lot of tomfoolery!
That being all said, we love the Lobby of Fire considerably more at this point! We went yesterday, and acknowledged when we returned home that my kid had left her extraordinary teddy bear there. I called and First light had the option to track down it. A couple of hours after the fact, she sent us pictures of Teddy having some good times overall around the exhibition hall. This made my little girl so blissful! Just made me feel good inside to experience such surprising mindfulness. My little girl and her teddy bear have now been brought together, and I'm thankful it turned out to be a particularly fun encounter rather than a hard one! We'll make want more - it's consistently a tomfoolery and positive experience!

My family loves the Fire Museum! There is informational and entertaining stuff for everyone. I've learned a lot there and my kids love the play area and the firetruck that is interactive. The membership is also affordable which makes it a nice indoor activity for weekends when you want to get out but not spend extra money. I highly recommend getting a membership, especially if you have kids!

First off, we already loved this place! The kids have so much fun dressing up, climbing on the big fire truck, and it seems like they keep adding new things to the play area. The Halloween event is also so much fun!
All of that being said, we love the Hall of Flame even more now! We went yesterday, and realized when we got home that my two year old had left her special teddy bear there. I called and Dawn was able to find it. A few hours later, she sent us pictures of Teddy having fun all around the museum. This made my daughter so happy! Just warmed my heart to experience such unexpected thoughtfulness. My daughter and her teddy bear have now been reunited, and I’m grateful it ended up being such a fun experience instead of a hard one!
We’ll keep coming back - it’s always a fun and positive experience!
Our Tripy Life
Took our grandkids to visit the museum yesterday and had a great time. All the volunteers and staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We were astounded by the magnitude of their exhibits. It was very cool to learn about some of the history of firefighting, see all the old equipment so well cared for and restored and celebrate the heros that help protect our communities. It was so much fun we ended up buying a membership so we can go back again.

What a wonderful and fun find.
Large selection of beautiful Firetrucks.
Nice kid section and large firetruck to play on.
Great staff on hand, more than willing to chat you up with the history all within these walls.
A must see for anyone with some "Fire" in your heart.

This place is awesome!! So much history all the way through modern fire suppression equipment. We’re in town for a convention and I could help but stop by they have trucks from all over but one is from our neck of the woods Staunton VA
Francis Burghart
Sooooo much to see and explore. More than my interest for FF but very neat to see some of the early era equipment and stuff from the Asian-Pacific.
If you have any interest in FF this is a must stop. For sure a neat gem and super fun that you can bring in your doggo if you want to beat the summer heat!

I would like to say a very heartfelt thank you to Mr Gary, a volunteer tour guide at the Hall of Flame. We were there on a field trip today with my sons school and had the most wonderful time. He is the most amazing person to give his time and knowledge to our children, his contribution is truly invaluable. Thank you for your time and your kindness...and for your service 💙
Nicole Miller
We had an amazing time here. It’s very cool. A great way to learn some history about Fire Trucks. They had turnout gear you can try on and even a truck you can get on.
Paula Cranny
Fun surprise afternoon date! Haven't been here since the kids were little. They've added several additions. This was my hubbys first time and he loved it!
Sarah Gilliss
My friend, Service-Dog-In-Training, and I had a great time here! We had so much fun learning all about the history of firefighting! We definitely plan on coming back!
Sylvia Varela
We really enjoyed the museum. All the employees were very knowledgeable.
I would have enjoyed more information, and I would love to be able to watch the videos they had showing there at home
Peggy Heintz
Fantastic museum!!! Great place to learn about the history of fire fighting and see the actual equipment. Fascinating!!! The truck from the Twin Towers is amazing!
Damaris Enriquez
Wow I am impressed with how much time we spent here and how much we learned!! I am definitely going to get the membership. This is a must stop and visit. The best part of this Museum is how friendly the firemen were and how much information they were able to give us and answer so many questions. I also love to see that they have handicapped cars for those that need them to get around at NO additional charge. Most places charge outrages prices and here it was free to those in need. Such an informative experience!!! So come check them out because they have so much to offer you. Also for those who can't hear no problem scan the code and you can read more and they also offer a list of YouTube videos for all ages. Also it's all on one floor ..no stairs to climb but very big to spend a good amount of your day taking the time to read explore and relax. There's something for everyone here.
Amy Cox
Great museum with a huge amount of displays including fire trucks and equipment. The employees/volunteers are a wealth of information and so friendly!
Rebekah Johnson
This is a very unique place, sprawling with fire trucks and equipment used for fighting fires over the last century. There is a fun and educational play area for kids. My 5 year old daughter wants to be a firefighter when she grows up, so she was so happy in this museum. There is even a fire truck for kids to climb up in and play and put on firefighter gear.
The Gaming Empire
An absolutely great place that tells a gigantic part of how firefighting has advanced. The people who work there are definitely passionate about where they are as well. It is definitely a memorial to those who've fallen and those still out there.
Jim McDonald
As an old fireman, this place is a walk through history. Clean, well maintained apparatus of all ages.
September 11 is remembered in a couple of moving presentations.
Also houses walls of fame in many disciplines.
Abraham Abundis
Its a nice place to visit especially for kids that like fire truck. There is lots of history surrounding the entire history of firefighters. I personally liked the history coverage on the Japanese firefighters from the 19th century. No student discounts but there is kids and senior discounts.
Justin Mccart
This is by far the largest fire museum in the country !
I really enjoyed checking everything out here , I highly recommend a visit .
Please leave donations !

Our group arrived shortly after the museum opened, and were greeted by the friendly volunteer staff. We spent several hours viewing all of the different displays, all of the which were very interesting. The entire staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The way they expalin the exhibits you can tell they truly love what they do. This museum does have a fire truck that kids both young and old can climb on. Memberships are worth looking into. Definitely would return to this museum for another look at all of the fire trucks.
Gail Thornton
Loved this place! The volunteers were so friendly & knowledgeable! My 8 yr old Granddaughter was disappointed that there was not a model of the Great Chicago Fire.
Michael Green
What a fantastic place. No other like it in the world. Not to mention the world of information on us firefighters. Some of it is mind blowing in more ways than you can imagine! Schools definitely need to jump on this place.
Elise Pittman
I took my 18 month grandson. Didn't realize how interesting it would really be so now I have to go back without him to fully appreciate the museum.
Eric Pitts
Fantastic museum! If you (or your kids) like fire trucks, then this is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended. 30,000 Square feet of space that is filled end to end with fire fighting equipment. Family friendly, kids of all ages will enjoy.
John Kroll
One of the best fire museums I have ever visited with an exhaustive collection. Every historical book on firefighting I have read has featured vehicles found here under one roof. Great presentation, great staff of friendly and knowledgeable folks, and plenty of room to view and appreciate things at your speed. If you have the slightest interest in firefighting this is a must see.
judyo74 Oconnor
Amazing museum with impressive collection of firefighting relics. Museum staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. We would highly recommend for everyone who understands and appreciates the dedication of our firefighting hero’s. Great area for kids to play too.
James Johnston
Hidden gem in down town area. Amazing amount of history in this museum.
Marc Vasquez
Absolutely amazing history and information about firefighting from the 1700s to today! Incredible volunteers and just so much to see. Highly recommend if you are or have been a firefighter or just want to see some really awesome equipment from all the different years!
TKG
Great place to take the kids. They have movies playing for the kids and a play room that teaches about fire safety. Also a real fire truck that kids and big kids (adults) can play on.
Don't miss out. Oh and yearly family memberships are only 40 bucks!!
Adam Stoll
An interesting museum even to someone with no ties to fire fighting. A ton of examples of fire trucks and equipment through history. A fun play area for the younger kids too. You only need an hour to see most of the galleries. Worth a family membership to visit occasionally
Aaron McKenzie
I had such a terrific experience here today. I never knew how much craft and beauty went into making the fire engines of the past! The staff and volunteers at this place are wonderful. The best part of my entire day was the conversation I had with Gary! Gary is a wonderful, kind, and vibrant volunteer at the Museum.
Thank you to all of the staff and volunteers and a very special thanks to Gary. Our conversation today was so insightful and I am so happy to have had the opportunity to learn from you.
Kathy Weidenbaum
A must see in Phoenix. Fascinating collection of fire-fighting vehicles, tools and tales! Enjoyable for all ages.
fred
If you like firefighting history and firefighting equipment and knowledgeable curators, this is your museum. Many who work here are retired firefighters. Great place to get a dose of firefighting at its best
Thomas Mitchell
Truly a gem of an experience that we won't soon forget.
Monica Roncancio
Hall of Flame is a wonderful museum full of history and well, fire trucks! I've taken my son here for about 3 years now and every time we go it's a fun experience. The museum looks small from the outside but it's packed wall to wall and literally floor to ceiling with fire fighting paraphernalia and vehicles.
The museum is large enough to make social distancing easy, with many different rooms showcasing different aspects of more than just fire fighting. The displays are well thought out and every time we've gone we've seen something we hadn't seen before.
Hall of Flame also has interactive displays here and there, where kids can use imaginative play to not only play but to learn. The gift shop offers a selection of toys, shirts, and odds and ends for the lover of all things flame retardant (haha I couldn't help myself) and there's even a huge bell outside you can ring because, why not?
I recommend anyone with an interest in first responders go to Hall of Flame Fire Museum and enjoy yourself! 10+ stars, I know we'll be back soon! 😁🔥🚒
Leigh Klettke
Large informative venue of fully restored fire suppressing equipment from the very first horse drawn to the more modern wooden ladder trucks from all over the world. The walls are lined with sleeve patches from fire departments everywhere. Fireman and senior discount. Spend a couple hours here!
Ron Johnson
Second time and vary pleased with all the new sections from before. I had visitors from California thar were very impressed with the whole museum. Good work!
Jennifer Croke
A lot more than we expected! It was very informative and interesting. They have so many fire trucks and we spent about two hours there but probably could have spent longer. They also have a great kids area! Definitely worth a stop if you go to Phoenix!!
Sherrie W
We went on a weekday and had a very pleasant visit. The person at the front desk was very friendly. Most of the exhibits were old fire trucks (and there were so many) but there were also tools and other equipment on display, as well as badges and a few uniforms. There were displays to honor fallen firefighters as well. My 10 year old and 5 year old seemed to have a good time. There was a fire truck that they could step up into and sit behind the wheel, so they loved that. There was an old control center from the 70s with a placard that stated you could hear actual calls coming through the city center (not recordings)--we heard something but it didn't really sound like much. There was a section that looked like rooms in a house and it showed various dangerous conditions that we should remember/look out for. There were also a few interactive displays that you could push buttons on. We had a nice time. I was a little hesistant to go as I had read reviews about how the customer service was, but I felt really comfortable ( I noticed that one of the reviewers seemed to be Muslim like me and I wear hijab and the two workers (or maybe volunteers,) we encountered were very friendly towards me/my family unlike the reviewers experience). The only thing that I think would have made the visit better was if each display had a placard (or even just a paper print out)of each display. They had binders that you could take around that explained each display I guess, but we didn't really want to carry it around.
SHANE PEIK
If you have ever been on a fire department, you will love this museum. If you were never on a fire department, you would still love all of what the fire museum has to offer!
James Kamb
My family brought my brother and here when we were younger. Today, I brought my wife for the first time.
It is just as great for kids as it is for adults. Lots of history and many exhibits to look at. Besides the fire engines, there are fire markers dating back to the late 1700's, exhibits on firefighting gear and firefighters. Two short movies play in different areas allowing a chance to sit down and rest. It isn't a large area, but looking at and reading each display will take time
In the last area is a live system for hearing dispatch calls live. My wife and stepped and heard dispatch to our area of town. It was fascinating.
They have a dizzying collection of patches and it was fun to look for areas we are familiar with.
Overall, the Hall of Flame is definitely a museum you should visit.
C C
An amazing collection of fire fighter memorabilia. Much of it restored with intense detail. The gentlemen in the front are a wealth of knowledge and the binders really help to learn some interesting stories about the equipment. Also, the firefighter database they have it's really nice. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time here otherwise you will surely miss something really cool.
Duke Ensell
Wow! This large museum is full of amazing fire fighting equipment. Plenty of staff to help in every way. Highly recommend!
David Steinitz
One of the largest displays of fire trucks and vintage hand pumpers in the country. Also some of the nicest and very knowledgeable docents I have ever met. Can not wait to go back.
Wayne Balsiger
Very nice museum with about 100 fire apparatus, from walking to trucks. Oldest is from 1726. All in great restored condition. Most if not all look better than day they were delivered to the fire Department.
Honor hall for fire fighters lost in line of duty. History of Smoke jumpers.
My Dad enjoyed it. He is a former Portland, Oregon firefighter.
Michael Burke
The Best Fire Apparatus Museum in the country. We were there for 4 plus hours. I meet up with 2 guys from FDNY and they took me and my wife over the shop to see more Apparatus being rebuilded for the Museum. If your in to old fire Apparatus you have to stop by.
Chela p
We actually had a little trouble finding this place but so glad we came. Believe it or not it really has some interesting things. I also love how they have a section for the firefighters that were lost in 9/11. It is definitely a collection of a lot of memorabilia, we were given a binder in the front desk that gives you a lot of information.
They do have a little kids section for them to play around in. Since it was empty, I'm going to be honest I took advantage of it lol. But the the little helmets were too small.
There were two gentlemen in the front, yes one is much more approachable than the other but seriously don't let that stop you from enjoying this museum, it's worth it and especially what some good human beings have sacrificed for others.
Matthew Paul
Being an ex firefighter this place was amazing every type of engine, to pumper and ladder, as well as helmets patches and equipment and a place for kids. The gifts in the gift shop I thought were very fairly priced as well I will be back
J Crowd
Enjoyed our walk around the museum. Would have been better if we could have taken our time to read all the information, but we have small children and felt rushed. There are a few kids activities and kids do enjoy it. Really cool displays and arm patches! I found a typo on one of the information sheets!
Edith Levy
Incredible history preserved in wonderful visuals. Great for kids. The 9-11 tribute area moved me to tears. Not one to go through in one visit. We will make more treks here in the future.
Amie Michels
Fun place to go with the kids. Most of it is a hands-off museum, but it held their interest. There is one truck to climb on and pretend to drive. There's also a children's play area with dress up clothes and a play house. Gift shop has plenty of related items.
James Moore
Very interesting museum. Definitely worth the trip if you're a firefighter or interested in firefighting. The amount of apparatus they have is impressive! The lots to see and learn other than fire trucks.
Randall Brown
Took the guided tour! Incredible history of fire fighting equipment dating back to the 1700s. Every firetruck is immaculate and preserved with care and love. Tribute is paid to those who made the ultimate sacrifice including those on 9/11 and the Granite Mountain Hotshots.
Damon Johnson
Stopped here to kill some time during a layover. The retired firemen who gave the tour were very enthusiastic and knowledgeable of all the fire engines in the museum. This is a must stop for kids young and old.
Earl Morrishow
Very wonderful day field trip with Mt grandson and school. This Retired Michigan Firefighter is an AMAZING 87 YEAR LEGEND!!! Knowledge is incredible!
Jacqueline Zendejas
Must see. They have hundreds of fire trucks dating back to the 1800! Amazing to see how these machines evolve throughout times.
Kyle Bruno
If you are in Phoenix and you have 3-4 hours this is a must see, museum. Lots of great fire equipment, stories, and pictures.
Tim Leija
The Staff are wonderful. A firefighter "Tim" was so knowledgeable and easy to talk too. What an awesome Firefighter. He made kids laugh and let my 87 year father retired firefighter from feel at home. Awesome experience and wonderful museum.
Angela
Me and my best friend took our 3 kids here for the 1st time for all if us. It was pretty awesome to see all the fire trucks and paraphernalia. We wished there was more hands on things for the kiddos. It wasn't until the very end that they were able to play with things. It wasn't nice that me and my friend were cleaning up the messes from the previous kids that were there. There were toys thrown all over the floors and the play clothes were a mess. The staff was VERY nice and extremely informative though. We might have to come back without the kids just so we can take our time and read about all the different trucks and such.
Lynnette Gillis
This place is fantastic! Well organized and have a great area for children. All the fire equipment is amazing! Totally restored and immaculately maintained. I would go back. Highly recommend it for anyone visiting the Phoenix area.
Elizabeth Storm
Wow - there is just so much to take in here! TONS of exhibits and information. Historic up to modern engines. All manner of firefighting equipment. Exhibits honoring our fallen heros.
Paul Rogers
If you've ever had a connection with firefighters, you will love seeing the 4 buildings full of fire equipment.
John Smith
Very interesting. If you are interested in the history of fighting fires and historical fire vehicles then this is the place for you.
Kevin Lu
There were a lot of people there. But the museum didn't feel packed or crowded at all. The children's play area is where my family spent most of our time. My son loved playing on the firetruck (as did all the other kids there) and learning about fire safety.
scott king
How could I not rate it a 5 star being a retired firefighter? I have been around the Hall of Flame for years and they do a great job at representing all areas of firefighting and preserving our history. You can tell how much they love it, when you first walk in and feel at home. It was a great career and really tough at times and it's nice being represented by such a great organization. Thank you
Cassie Moore
This place is a hidden gem. We had so much fun with our kiddos. We went on 9/11 so it was extra special. It was so cool learning about the fire trucks.
Kirin Peterson
Awesome museum. Super friendly staff, lots of information and historical artifacts to enjoy.
Marissa Amerman
Great place to take kids. There is a vintage fire truck you can get in and flash the lights. Also a kid section on fire safety. Largest display of fire trucks in nation. Some trucks dating back to 1700s. 9/11 truck and hot shots truck.
Emmanuelle Alonso
This museum is a gem! Our toddler was in heaven with the countless firetrucks he could look at, as well as the children’s play area in the back. We will definitely be back next time we’re in the Phoenix area!
Kaity Storer
Great museum with lots of cool exhibits. Even a great kids area for the little ones.
Chris Bauer
Phenomenal Museum, def one of my personal favorites. My daughter had a blast here, they have a great area for the kids as well. Tons of great Americana Firefighting History here. Seeing FDNY’s Rescue 4, that had responded to 9/11 & the Granite Mtn Hotshot’s Transport vehicle they all traveled to Yarnell Hill in was very humbling. 🙏🏼❤️ God Bless our Firefighters!! 🚒
9/11-Never Forget!! ❤️🙏🏼
Daniel Speer
I always enjoy coming here!! So much information and so much fun bring your family!
Peter Jachimiak
This museum is amazing and for some reason most people in the Phoenix area don't even know it exists. They have fire engines dating back to 1725.
My grandsons loved it.
Danelle Meere
I took my 3 year old son to the museum for an afternoon activity. We spent about 1.5 hours making our way through the various exhibits. I found myself having to remind my son that the big shinny trucks aren't meant to be touched or ridden which he found to be frustrating at times. This is to be expected with museums and young children. Thankfully partway through there was a hands-on experience available for him to try on mock fire fighters gear, climb onto a real fire engine and sit behind the wheel. At every glance I found interesting facts and showcases of historical equipment and vehicles. The center did a great job of giving a hero's tribute to the generations of rescue workers as well. I found the best part of the visit to be towards the end where we found a life size (1 bedroom) house that exemplifies the daily fire hazards found in the average home. This was a great opportunity to teach my son about fire safety. The best part for him was the firemen poll and miniature fire truck where he was able to burn off some bottled up energy. The gentleman in charge of the museum was amazing in his own right. He was incredibly friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. Altogether I would definitely recommend this local attraction to anyone.
Jana Tingom
Love this spot! Kids will too - there’s a climbable firetruck, a play area, and lots of firetrucks to view. Groupon usually offers a deal on admission as well.
Amy Jean Winter
Very nice clean exhibit. Amazing history there. Awesome tribute to 9-11. My husband was in Firefighter Heaven. Great customer service very knowledgeable and friendly.
Natflvr NewYork
What an excellent experience. Staff of former firefighters were passionate about sharing history and knowledge. Littles are fascinated by the equipment and stories. Speaking of sharing, there is a great storytelling option and a toy area that mixes fun with fire safety learning. Going again and memberships are cheap!
Tim Chandler
Alot of great history and knowledge on firefighters going way back to the 1800's ,Real models of old fire trucks and equipment. Had a great time .
Joel Lusk
We had a fantastic time at the Hall of Flame, it greatly exceeded our expectations. Our experience was magnified by the incredible volunteers we had contact with during the course of our visit. Gary was a fantastic storyteller and guide, who even took the time to demonstrate the various mechanisms of the fire trucks as we walked the hall. His enthusiasm and energy are unparalleled, and we were truly grateful for his guidance. We were also greeted by Bob who was a fantastic introduction to the museum. The people that work at the Hall of Flame truly make it a fantastic experience.
Lee Piz
We visited for the first time and my 3 year old son was in heaven! He loves fire trucks. Keep in mind that a majority of the museum is eyes only-no touching. If you have little ones, practice eyes only before arriving since there is no touching the historic equipment. They opened a small children's section the morning we arrived. My son had fun pretending to be a firefighter. There is a huge variety of equipment that the docents would be happy to share the history with you. Mobility friendly. They even have scooters so don't let not being able to walk a lot keep you from visiting. Staff on-site and even the people visiting were all friendly. We will be back soon.
Josh Seeley
Awesome experience! Volunteers are old fire fighters and give you a ton of good information
Andrew Staats
Many neat pieces of history. Awesome pieces of history from my home state of Wisconsin. Great to see LOD recognitions as sad as it is.
Jeremy Meier
What an extraordinary place to look at so much fire service history! I was in awe with the equipment they have on display, the many patches that people have donated, and so much more. It is 100% a must-stop place if you're ever in the Tempe area!
Kayla Rawles
It costs to get in, and it's just room upon room of fire engines(present day and old). They give you a binder with info on each engine, but I didn't like having to flip through to read about each engine. I wish they'd just had plaques up that you could skim over, as well as more than just engines.
James Wright
My kids had fun but it is more for adults. There is a couple of kids zones but it is a museum. Overall Awesome. Lots to see and learn.
Michael Donovan
Huge selection of fire memorabilia. Great staff and patches from all over the world. Was there last day of the Rescue 4 on display.
john Neibel
Great place to vist, wanted to play.
They have a large arm patch collection and they do take donated items.
Darren Johnson
So much fire history under one roof, great displays and lots of information. It is very affordable and worth checking out. It is self guided tour which is nice so you can go at your own pace.
Y Aguilar
Alot to see and they have a kids area where they can play and touch! They also have a fire truck you can get in and take pictures! Museum is well kept!
Ranique Garcia
Super friendly staff, great play area for kids, so much to see not enough time with a fussy toddler lol, amazing gift shop, overall a great experience and an amazing memorial to fallen firefighters. Ended up buying a family pass and it was worth it.
Maggie Dicksen
If you haven't been here to see this marvelous display of vintage fire trucks and equipment you really are missing out!! Our guide was very knowledgeable in the history and workings of the antiques. He walked us through room after room, telling us who built, where they came from, how many volunteers it took to operate them. They have a very impressive memorial for the firefighters of 9/11. Brought tears. There is an area dedicated to the young ones to teach fire safety. Truly a museum to visit and revisit as you can't appreciate it all in one day.
Tommy Taylor
Must see! Incredible place, spend a couple hours so much too see!
Juan Rodríguez
Amazing my kid's just 😍 loved we travel from California great memories ❤️ …
Kyle Cagalingan
This is an excellent museum of fire trucks and related fire departments. They have exhibits from I believe 1800s up to the most recent ones. A must-go-to that anyone will surely enjoy.
Lindy Hall Fraddosio
Very large collection with antique engines and many tools of the trade.
Angelica Jimenez
This place is awesome my sons sent crazy they love all the fire trucks, as for I love all the history they put into so much detail and stuff to read.
Jeffrey Folgate
Certainly worth the stop if you're a fan of the fire service. They claim to have the largest collection of fire apparatus of any fire museum, and I certainly won't argue with that! We spent nearly 3 hours going from display to display.
Ed Taggard
A huge and beautiful collection of hand-drawn, horse-drawn and motorized fire apparatus from around the country, even a few international pieces. Allow a couple hours to take it all in.
Kim Gilbert
The world's largest firefighting museum. Great trucks and apparatus of the past. A must place to visit.
ShortStack
Went with my family, very friendly and knowledgeable staff and volunteers. Will be back again.
Mike Ely
Beautifully restored and maintained apparatus from all over the world. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Jamie Blanchard
Great museum! A must see! We spent over 2 hours in there. There is a firetruck from 9/11 there and firetrucks that date back to the 1800's
Steven Hyde
Great museum for the family if you are interested in fire fighters and equipment.
Carol McMaster-Guy
This was an awesome experience! So worth the price of admission. Super people are there to answer your questions or just give you fascinating information. I will go back again at some point. There are a few chairs here and there if you need a quick rest. Also wheelchair friendly. This is a must see, and it also has stuff for kids to do.
Windy Griffin
Definitely a must see if you like history. Items feom the 1800's on up. Exhibits are excellent
Citizen
Visiting this museum was a very fun experience. It wasn’t too expensive and for being what it costs it was worth it! They had real firefighters that came and explained what several of the fire engines did and how they operated. They had fire engines ranging from clear back when they were created to now. It was an enjoyable experience and I’d definitely recommend visiting!!
Chris South
Beautiful place. One of the best collections of fire apparatus and so much more. A must see!
Misha Kotov
Exceeded all expectations. Has something interesting for all ages, a ton of history and exhibits. Can easily spend an afternoon here with kids. Friendly staff.
Can't recommend enough.
Louise Thornton
We have some new fire trucks om the floor now. It's a good place for the family. We have a fire truck for the kids to play on also birthday parties are available.
Cody P
Lots and lots of fire trucks! I came here with my grandparents a few years back and we enjoyed our visit to the Hall of Flame. My grandfather especially loved every minute of reading up on the specs of the the different trucks and equipment. It's a fun place for kids too. Expect to spend a few hours here, LOTS to see.
Mark Bice
Some of the best and oldest fire equipment from all over the world in a museum today.
Flare Elliot
One of the best kept secrets in Phoenix! Spectacular display of fire equipment from 1725 to the 1980s - from hand pumpers, to steam, to motorized - late 19th & early 20th century parade vehicles- Must see eye candy for kids of all ages! Might be the best place in Phoenix to take kids on a hot summer day - large kids play area where they can try on gear and even slide down a fire pole! There is also a full sized 1950s fire truck that visitors are invited to board - great photo opp for family photos and selfies!
Christine Wilson
Our second time here! Amazing staff and exhibits!! Fun kid area as well!
Nicole Butler
My husband and I went and it was such a fantastic experience! We got to speak with some of the employees there that were retired firemen and hear their stories. Beautiful trucks and so much to see. We spent a few hours here just looking around with our jaws dropped. Definitely check this place out!
O C
Loved the badges and displays. Staff were very knowledgeable and friendly
Billie Hanson
Fantastic museum!
There isn't a piece of firefighting history from around the world that isn't included here! Staff are unbelievably knowledgeable and so eager to share!
Great place for kids and adults.
Plus, the AC works great!!
Janelle Maust
Great museum! Kids loved all the old fire trucks, and there was even one they could play on. They have one of the trucks that responded to 9-11 as well. We had lots of fun, and the staff was very kind.
Umesh Tiwari
Wow! What a treasure. Really great place to learn a lot of rich American History in the context of firefighting. So much to see. Can't possibly do it all in one trip. Get the membership, it's a steal.
Mario Torres
I loved seeing the old fire trucks. Also great exhibit about CDF and wildland firefighters.
Mike Mello
The largest, most comprehensive firefighting museum I've ever seen. Allow at least 4 hrs to see and appreciate all the work that has gone into restoring and maintaining the apparatus. Amazing collection, exquisitely restored and presented with explanation placards. Huge Dept patch collection. $7 admission. Staffed by volunteers who will lend you a guide binder explaining the artifacts. Nice gift shop, the only place where a mini version of painted pony shown below can be bought new, 1 of 343. Worth the trip, located on East Van Buren at the SRP turnout. Lots of parking free.
Joseph Koszalka
Loved it enjoyed every last minute of it very cool history and old school equipment of all kinds definitely recommend to anyone not just fire department enthusiasts worth every bit of money and time
HAYDEN BOYETT
There is a reason fire engines are so spectacular and beautiful. Go here and learn the answer. It is a simple answer; yet intriguing. The people and staff are spectacular. This establishment is a nice compliment to our valley and the people who invested there treasure (and the nice folks who invest their time).
Michael Watson
Awesome place. Make the time and effort to GO HERE. Lots of equipment to see and admire. Loved all of it.
Steven Smith
Great place to go and learn the history of fire fighting. Great restorations and well taken care of.
Heather Champion
Loved the friendly staff, the firetruck were cool and they had signs explaining what everything was.
Paul Gallagher
They alot of vehicles, recommended if your in the area.
Joshlyn Willhite
This museum was a blast. There is endless information and so much to see and learn. There is also a lot of fun areas for kiddos. Chuck the director was so friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back!
Patrick Baldwin
Some really cool stuff. There is a decent children's area and for the cost of an adult it's a very reasonable thing to do if you have any interest in the history or firefighting this place is really cool. The September 11th fire truck and the hot shots bus really pull at the heartstrings
David Alfred
Absolutely loved this place. I can't believe the detail of this old machinery, just beautiful done. Someone knew what they were doing when they put this place together. Seeing up close, machines that made history such as 9-11 and the Granite Mountain fire equipment. The hall of flame made me realize how these firefighters put their lives on the line for us day in and day out. There is a lot of history here.
Jamie Hamilton
Absolutely amazing and fascinating history. The guys giving us a tour and telling us about the history of the fire trucks were very knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend going there. There's even a fire truck you can get on and explore. Way cool. The kids loved it.
Brittney Lewellen
It was amazing! We have a 4 and 8 year old, they both loved the museum. Has trucks as old as first ones made in 1700's to the last 9/11 truck. The hosts at the museum were extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. Definitely recommend this place for all ages!
Billie Hanson
The largest firefighters museum right here in our backyard!!!! The all volunteer staff are simply amazing. The sheer quantity of this collection is mind-blowing, beautifully preserved and superbly laid out!!
Something for all ages!!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Russell Reitz
Very cool place to take the family. Love all of the history of the different fire engines. Very knowledgeable volunteers that explain all of the different engines. Would definitely go back and would recommend to everyone. Also saved me money by purchasing the family membership. Great place go check it out.
Francisco S
Great place to visit love all the different fire trucks. Great and fun place for the kiddos.
Curtis “Curt” Alleman
Amazing.... Even if you have no association with the emergency services this is a must stop location
Melanie Royse
It was really fun and there were lots of historic sights to see.
A Rittenhouse
Always a wonderful experience for adults and kids alike!
Steven J
This place is a hidden treasure. Our family had a first visit and it was so amazing to see such history of Heros and cool fire trucks! So much to learn and appreciate. We will visit again.
Thank you very much!
Dolphire Dreamer
Definitely a trip down memory lane and lots of history. The Gentlemen there are helpful and Amazing! There is a section for kids to get hands on.
Joe Ivone
Thoroughly enjoyed the world's largest firefighting museum. A great way to spend a summer's day. The history of modern firefighting from 1725 to present. The self guided tour took me about 2 hours. We've come a long way!
HeatherBraie Arvizu (Tysiak)
Super fun activity during the hot summer. Kids under about 8 will have fun, but there are only 2 exhibits they will enjoy. Everything else is really cool for someone who doesn't mind "look but don't touch" with lots of reading plaques.
Jim Bolger
Went for 9-11 ceremony, will be back for full tour. It looks amazing
Greg George
The staff here are very knowledgeable. A wide range of firefighting equipment and vehicles, as well as uniforms. Some very surreal exhibits. My son loved it and was very engaged. We will be back!
Alexandra Levich
They had this amazing real fire truck for kids to play around in, wear costumes, and more.
Maggie Anton
We ended up going here [2 grandparents, 2 parents and 3 kids] because it was the only one open at a convenient time for us. Boy were we astonished! Five giant rooms of fire trucks, some 300 years old, all beautifully restored. Also a detailed guidebook explained each one. Plus a small theater rain a video about the museum's foundation. The kids loved it! A large fire truck to climb on/in, firefighter clothes and hats to try on, all sorts of firefighter toys to play with in the kids' area. Plus docents around to explain everything and give demonstrations. We could have spent all day there.
Leanne Miller
Amazing place and amazing people! Go see this you won't be disappointed!
Pamela Hagerty
Solemn place. Sadness bravery and oh so many incredible trucks!!!
Warren Severin
This is one of my favorite places to take visitors to Phoenix. My sister and brother-in-law were in town. She has been an EMT for most of her life. Rolling with the fire department almost every day. She got a real charge out of it, just loved it.
Debra Lech
Great place to see when you visit Phoenix AZ. So much to see and read about. We were not expecting it to be this big and to have so many items on display. Wish we had scheduled a little more time to spend there, but I purchased a year pass for $1.00 more than it was going to cost for the 3 of us to enter. Good news is I can go back and see more another day.
The staff is so friendly too. 🚒👨🚒👩🚒🧑🚒
Becca Mora
This is an awesome place to go back in time and to imagine how much work our fire fighters had to work and still work and all the cool things they had to do. The staff is very friendly and have such good knowledge. I love this place it's also great for kids of ally ages! So so cool!
Denita Fobs
It was awesome, so many engines. My 4 year old grandson loved it. He loves fire engines. The children's corner was a break for him as he said playtime! Which gave us a minute to catch our breath and not have to think of entertainment for him because he is after all 4. Price was reasonable when looking at Disney and other amusement activities for kids.
I was quite impressed. I highly recommend this museum.
Tim Danielson
My wife and I visited the Hall of Flame a few weeks ago and although we had heard how nice the museum is, we were amazed at the amount of detailed history of the fire service we saw.
When we got out of our car we were greeted by the museum supervisor. The staff was overly cheerful and welcoming.
I was a fireman and appreciated seeing the engines, trucks, equipment and methods that were in use during the time I was involved in the fire service. This place has something to offer everyone even if you have no direct connection to firefighting. The Hall of Flame is a super educational experience. We spent 4 hours touring the exhibits and have already talked about returning for another visit someday.
The gift shop is filled with items to take with you to remember the day.
Robert K
Very cool place. My 3 year old loved it. All the staff are super friendly, love what they do, and are very knowledgeable. Highly recommend supporting their YouTube page as well.
Todd Simon
Absolutely awesome museum with knowledgeable docents. Was very impressed by the number and variety of for engines. Enjoyed learning about the history that led to their development.
Jasmin Danae
I would love to bring my son back here. Its really small and straight forward. Its great for learning historical information and there are some interactive items as well. The children cannot touch or climb on most of the models but there are things for them to touch or climb on. My son really liked it. He spent a lot of time in the kids area and taking it all in. I suggest you plan your visit based on the fact that this is a historical museum.
Steven Page
We were staying in Mesa at an RV Resort and wanted to see some of the sights. Decided on the Fire Museum since they said the had the largest collection of fire apparatus in the US.
Boy were they right. They have 35,000 feet of floor space packed with fire engines. They also have a good guide you can download that tells you about all the equipment. We spent over 2 hours there and really enjoyed it
We live in Reno NV and they even have a steam powered pumper (engine number 2) that was originally from Reno.
The docents are retired fire fighters and are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Definately worth the time.
Nicole Soules
The staff is very knowledgeable and kind. We love the different patches from all over the world. The interactive area for children is worth taking time to read the different phrases and explaining to your children.
Talliesin Goeson
A very cool museum. Seeing the roughly 200 year old fire fighting pumps in person before checking out more modern fire fighting trucks helps put in perspective how far fire fighting has come and how hard fire fighters have always had to work in one way or another.
Bob Brigham
Absolutely phenomenal glimpses of history. Beautifully and lovingly restored vehicles from all over. Heartfelt tributes to the Granite Mountain Hotshots and to the 9/11 victims. Very educational for young and old alike.
F B
Outstanding experience from start to finish. The history and the honor to those who served is awesome. Thank you for all you do to preserve history of the second best job in the world.
Ed Whitaker
Great museum especially as I am a volunteer firefighter
buffalosoldiermm
Very informative with an extensive collection of pumps, memorabilia, and vehicles.
Steve Sampson
A real sleeper. So many fire trucks beginning with the very first, and so well restored. It is a history of americas growth as well. Well worth an hour or few.
Nate Dame
Best museum with extremely and knowledge caretakers. We have young kids, so they were somewhat quickly bored with the rooms of dozens of fire trucks old and new lined up neatly. Fortunately there's a truck available to climb.om to your heart's content (a big hit!) and a area towards the back with all sorts of things of toys to play with and setups to climb on - including a fire station pole and a short platform with steps to try it from. A good time, but older kids - and anybody passionate about old equipment or firefighting - would have an even better time!
Marge Bivona
Very interesting display of fire trucks and equipment dating back to pre 19th century and excellent tributes to heroes of firefighting including those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Well worth the time and entry fee.
phfd4381
Great group of people!! A ton of fire apparatus dating back.
Emmanuel Cardoso
This is an amazing museum of fire fighter history in the U.S. There are many fire engines, memorabilia, histories, pictures of fire fighters from the 1800s through the 20th century. There is a kids' section that has hands on thing for kids to do.
Jen Womeldorf-Dunn
Pleasantly surprised with this local museum! Visited with my family who were in from out of state, and we were looking for interesting museum-type activities. Caveats for those who like to keep their museum-going experiences brief: this place is HUGE, it really is the world's largest museum dedicated to firefighting, and face it, fire trucks are sorta big... Also, to really enjoy the displays, you need to READ the info on each from a book you get to carry with you while you're there. This isn't everyone's cup of tea, but there's a lot of history contained within. Staffed by knowledgeable former firefighters, who might just demonstrate some equipment for you if you ask. 🚒
osubeav21
Amazing. It was incredible and so much larger than I expected.
brianna engstrom
One of the first stops we made getting into town. It was such a great experience! The admission to get in is the cheapest in town for the experience you get out of it. The museum staff were very friendly and informative and they knew what they were talking about being retired firefighters themselves. Was very glad we chose to come here!
rachelle ferraro
We had my son's third birthday party at the museum. All of the kids and the parents had a blast. This museum is a gem! The fire trucks span back to the days of the bucket brigade and horse drawn carriages through modern times. I need to go back because I did not have time to really be able to appreciate the history contained in the museum. I was worried that my son's friends would not appreciate the fire trucks which I correctly assumed would be behind roped off displays but the eyes of even the youngest kids (and many of the adults) just lit up at seeing all the amazing (and some even beautiful and ornate) vehicles. I highly recommend this place to anyone who has not been there. And I recommend it for a child's party as well. There was an area in the back set up with tables and room for us to bring our food, drinks... There is a play area complete with child sized fireman dress up clothes, a pole to slide down, a hose to play with, a small fire truck ride, and even a "firehouse" play house, papers to color...really all the activities you could imagine for a child's party (and that's forgetting that you have an entire museum to tour that I know the adults at our party truly enjoyed). Halfway into the party, the kids (and adults) got to ride a real fire truck and play with a fire hose...
I know there have been posts about the staff being less than friendly, but I did not find that to be the case at all. The staff are volunteers incredibly knowledgeable about the museum artifacts. Maybe because I have volunteered at a non profit before, but I did not expect the staff to clean up the mess we made nor did I expect them cater to us like the staff at a Chucky Cheese would. But we had a far better time than we could have had at any other birthday party venue!! I highly recommend this place and will be going back!
lAL L
Extensive collection of fire engines. We enjoyed seeing the evolution of simple hand pumps to technical fire engines. They also had a fun kids area. It would be a great homeschool field trip.
Silas Lonard
I couldn't say enough about how awesome this museum is. From the start across all the sections I could tell that a tremendous amount of hard work has been put into this museum. A lot of the apparatus has been restored to it's former glory which can take years to restore. The staff whom I learned are mostly volunteer were awesome some of them are even retired firefighters. They were kind and genuine people who have a passion for history and preservation for history. They enpahsize alot about no touching the exhibits, I have no problem with this and infact completely agree a museums purpose is to preserve pieces of history and they are doing a fantastic job with this if you disagree first of all you are uneducated and they even have a place for kids to play so please be respectful. They are working with what is available to them and keeping the history of firefighting alive and I couldn't be happier with my experience. I encourage everybody to take a visit I promise it's worth your time.
Hayden Boyett
We had such an exceptional experience here. The two veteran fire fighters helped make our experience extraordinary. These veterans work here. My heart was touched they honor the fallen fire fighters and the hero fire fighters including paramedics. This place has been established in the valley since the 50’s. I will now consider this one of our valley treasures. It is definitely worth the $10 admission. Thank our God there are people who give their time resources and treasure to make this spectacular venue possible. My favorite story is why our fire trucks are decorated so elaborately: it is because of the friendly competition between the teams. Just add a little competition (it is welcome in all venues: to make it better).
Candice Kovach
Great place full of world wide fire history! There are antique fire fighting devices from like 1800s. There's a cute gift shop. My little guy loved being able to climb in a fire truck in Gallery 2. He also really enjoyed the safety house in the other gallery.
Laura Millard
We visited on 12/1/21. Upon arrival the staff was really friendly and welcoming. They gave us tons and facts and information about the establishment and other things inside. It's a very neat place to experience.
Marlon Ramirez
This is a great place for adults to visit, you can spend hours reading and admiring the history of firefighters. My 2 year old was not amused as he could not rich 90% of what was on display. My 9 year old enjoyed herself but we both complained on how some exhibit areas were not as air conditioned as others. Don't expect excellent customer service front the front entrance people, they are older and offer no enthusiasm or appealing personality. Overall a good experience but would not return to visit this place.
Marco Jimenez
Great museum to go to with tons to look at. Great gift shop that you could either go straight to without having to do the tour or at the end of the tour
T C
This museum exceeded my expectations! Took my grandson and I enjoyed it as much as he did. Highly recommended! (The men working were very helpful and informative too!)
D A
Fantastic place to take young kids. This place is on fire! 🔥
Jeanie Sullivan
It's the largest fire museum I have ever seen. So much history there. From one of the first fire wagons made to what we have now. It has an interactive kids play area that our 4 yr old loved. Also a brick floor where people have made customized designs in memory of there loved ones lost to fire. A really neat hero wall with there stories about the lives they have saved. Affordable and over all a really neat thing to see if you think about being in a burning building and one those wagons being pulled up by men or horses.
John King
Very interesting! Lots of fire engines to see and admire. Very helpful staff.
Stephanie Lambert
Amazing stop. All ages loved playing on the firetruck
Bob Ohm
Great museum , friendly and informative staff ! A must do !
Richard Nebeker
I've lived in Arizona for 60 years, and I had never visited the Hall of flame in Phoenix until yesterday. If you like fire trucks (who doesn't) and the history of fire trucks then plan a trip here.
The fire apparatus are curated and have been preserved immaculately. There are so many perfectly restored fire apparatus it boggles the mind as to how much love and effort went into creating this amazing museum for 60 years.
Richard Nebeker
Mollie M
Really neat museum that has fire fighting stuff from the 1700s on up!
I Just Work Here
Unexpectedly amazing. You won't be able to experience it all in one trip. Can't wait to come back! Really makes you appreciate technology and the wonders of humanity.
Flory Goodell
Very informative! A must see!
Jim Deal
Friendly staff, it is a very interesting exhibit. Anyone, young or old, if they like fire fighting equipment will enjoy this museum. There is equipment for all over the world and covering 100 years. Families will all enjoy their time here. There is also a gift shop. Parking is free.
Kim Kunkler
This family friendly museum is a must see for anyone with an interest in firefighting or fire response vehicles and equipment! With a variety of well thought out exhibits, lots of knowledgeable docents who have perfected the art of storytelling, a great kids zone (including adult sized turnout gear so kids of all ages can play!), and truly moving memorials to our fallen heroes, this museum has something for everyone. For a preview, and to learn more about the exhibits while experiencing them in person, there are many videos available on the museum's YouTube channel, which is accessible from their web site. Just one thing to consider: if you are like me-- sentimental and wear your heart on your sleeve--have a tissue handy for the memorials and tributes; they are quite powerful and will inspire solemn remeberance.
Cthippo1
An absolutely massive collection of fire apparatus and.... some other stuff. First, the big deal, this is the largest collection of fire apparatus in the world with pieces dating from the 1700s to the 2000s. Most is from the US, with a smattering from other places. There are also other items such as tools, uniforms, helmets, and models. On the other hand, they have made some curatorial decisions that I disagree with. The exhibits are nearly all static and very few items can be touched or interacted with. Information on the exhibits can be accessed through an app or by borrowing a binder from the front desk, but there are few signs actually with the exhibits that explain them. I feel like this is a missed opportunity to not only show the equipment, but also explain how it is used and give a better understanding of what it is to be a firefighter.
Ellen Heckmann
This place is very enlightening! The gentlemen that work here are knowledgeable and pleasant to visit with!!!! They took time to answer questions.
Joshua Hedgecock
Worth the visit. A lot have work has gone in to the restoration of the fire equipment. They have all kinds of equipment from the 1700s to present. There is a climb on fire engine exhibit specifically for kids to play on. There are exhibits honoring those who died at the world trade center and the granite mountain hotshots who were lost in wildfires in Arizona. You can spend a good 45 minutes to an hour here.
Kaycie Smith
Terrific museum! Your kids (big and small) will enjoy all this museum has to offer! There are many, many fire vehicles from all eras. It is funny how you can drive past something so often and not realize how really cool it is on the inside. If you are looking for something different to do someday, try this place.
Emilie Allen
I stopped into this museum not expecting too much, but I was wrong. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and unfortunately I stopped in about 1 1/2 hours before the museum closed. I thought this would have allowed me plenty of time, but I was wrong. I went back the following day and spent another 3 hours there! There are so many pieces of equipment to see, videos to watch, and they even have an area for small children to play and learn. I believe you could visit this museum multiple times and see something new each time. Thank you to the volunteers that run the facility.
vera bartolomey
We love coming here. We purchased membership so we could go any time we'd like. Our son loves everything related to firefighters! He says he wants to be one when he grows up. Hall of Flame is a great place to teach a kid what firefighting is all about and what safety rules we can follow to prevent fires.
Michelle Martin
Loved the museum. Staff is very knowledgeable of the pieces on show. Very helpful
Erin Dort Havrilak
There was so much more to see than I expected! We learned so much spending the afternoon at Hall of Flame. it was really well laid out and they had guide books you could take with you that explained every piece of machinery out on the floor. I especially loved all the patches that lined the walls and the book helping you locate your hometown!
Gary Ward
Great place for the kids. The little ones will enjoy climbing on and 'driving' the old fire truck.
There are a couple of other kid-friendly play areas. Great photo-ops for parents.
Great for birthday parties. Kids can get a ride on a pumper and actually pump water from the truck.
Max Salazar
The actual museum and tour was exceptional and the kids had a really good time but the people out front were less than friendly and when brought to their attention, did not really care. Oh well, for what we paid, it was well worth the money and I'd rather get a good bargain than overpay for great service. I would only recommend doing this with a tour otherwise it might be boring.
Liz Lessard
My two year old loved seeing all the fire trucks and he was so excited to hop into the driver's seat of one. There is a play area for kids, but otherwise most of the displays are hands off. Great place to go to if your kid is obsessed with firetrucks like mine. Cheap admission too.
Lanny Henderson
Wonderful museum of firefighting equipment and practices. Very touching tributes to 9/11 and Granite Mountain Hotshots honoring the sacrifices made. Trucks from both incidents are on display.
Go to this museum, and take sufficient time to feel the spirit and heroism of this noble profession! You will learn and you will be humbled.
Lisa B
Very large collection of many vehicles from many years. A walk down history.
Richard Rodriguez
Very cool place. Super friendly staff.
Charlotte Stout
Such a large collection! Seeing the different patches from other states was really cool.
Brad Whitehouse
Such a fantastic collection of fire apparatus and wonderfully restored. But the best part was in the Firefighter Memorial section. There I found was a story of 2 off duty Phoenix firefighters who were at a lake with their families. Upon hearing screams from someone down from them, they both ran to the scene to see 2 girls who were drowning. These 2 brave black firefighters both drowned while saving both girls they never knew. This is the heart of a firefighter.
Michael Word
A great local museum. Well worth the visit!
Joe Bertram
This place is incredible, I've been planning this trip for 25 years... I saw my fire departments Stutz fire engine finally. Great museum, great staff highly recommended
Viviana Rincon
The museum in itself it's pretty awesome! Lots to learn but the staff were pretty rude. I was visiting from New York with my 10 year old son and he actually was intimidated by their unfriendly attitude. It will be a better place if they were at least more kid friendly.
Beth Johnson
The Phoenix Hall of Flame is a wonderful museum showing the history of firefighting in the USA and France and several other countries. There are many old fire engines to see, including ones that were horse-drawn and a few that were only seen in parades. There is one old fire engine that kids can climb up into and they can put on old firefighting outfits and hats and pretend to their hearts' content. There is also a role play area for young kids (ages 1 to maybe 6 or 7) where they can touch and handle everything. Kids cannot climb onto most of the fire engines on display but just looking at them is fascinating. We found the museum staff to be wonderfully welcoming. And there is a fun gift shop to visit on the way out. Easy to get to and no long lines to buck.
Jeff B.
Largest fire truck museum in the world, has all sorts of trucks, badges, memorabilia, equipment, etc. They have more trucks than they have space for. So new ones are rotated in all the time. Worth a trip with the family or individually.
Kathy Struwe
Very impressive display, videos about the origin of the museum and on smoke jumpers. Uniform Patches from all over the world. Plan on spending a couple of hours on your feet walking through the museum. Really worth the price of admission.
S178 Travels
Largest fire equipment (from many states & countries) museum in the country/world. All are beautifully restored. My only issue was that the descriptions are in a book that you have to carry around with you. A must see.
Mavis Gal
Amazing! How impressive Hall of Flame Fire museum was this afternoon. 9-11 tribute of the traveling exhibition was so well done. It was very moving and captivating. Thank you!
Graham Davenport
The place is great, you get to look at amazing fire trucks and theres one your little kids can go in (and theres little jackets for them), other they were nice and all that. There were reviews about a grumpy guy but they were made years ago and i think he is probably not working here anymore.
Its a great place to go just be careful that your little ones dont try to attack the fire trucks those things are old
R L.
for an adult. this is a great place to visit to see all sorts of fire trucks. for a kid? not so much. basically all pretty much behind ropes sort of stuff. no audio, interactive stuff. they do have a small kids area where kids can dress up and hop on one fire truck. but something like a simulator, or fireman challenge, movie? there are tons of ways this place could pick up a lot more business and make a much more interactive experience.
Bimal Patel
Worlds biggest fire truck museum. Basically you can see the evolution of fire trucks from hand pulled to motorized. Excellent place for kids who love fire trucks. Affordable tickets.
Greg Buterbaugh
I had a great time at the hall of flame museum. Very informative. Apparatus from man many years ago it was great to see it all up close and get an idea of what those who came before me had to work with
Lesley Marshall
Unique museum that has one of the largest fire collections in the world; on display are fire engines from around the world, fire badges, memorial display for the firefighters who lost their lives at 9/11, and a switchboard that plays current local fire messages. In addition, you can request tours as well as use the museum for your child's birthday party.
Lucas Beseke
A museum filled with antique fire trucks and fire fighting memorabilia. Very interesting place to go. Lots of information and items to look at and learn. Also a gift shop, and kids sections.
Jason Larson
Just awesome. There are firefighting apparatuses from around the world. The condition of it all is quite amazing for how old some of it is. The cost to get in is well worth it. The tributes to all the lost firefighters adds that special touch.
Bernard Brown
This is a really informative place with unlimited material and cool photo ops...my only critique would be I wish the staff was more friendly...but still I would recommend this place at least once!
JoAnna
My 5 year old had a blast playing on the fire engine and running through the Safe House area, my husband was all about the Hot Shots display, and I enjoyed seeing the different models of fire engines and reading the very detailed historic write-ups about each one. Fun for the whole family. :)
Jeanne Fowler
Very interesting to learn about the past and present times with the fire dept. All the trucks are very cool. Children love it. We take our grandson. This is his second trip,it is something we will take him to again and again.
Kristine Miners
Fantastic! Tons of things to see and the exhibits are nicely arranged within the space. The guys working while we were there were very nice and would chime in with fun facts and tidbits.
Harry Samuel
if you want to see about a thousand fire trucks this is the place to go we found it very interesting and I don't know what else to say it's all about fire trucks it has a nine-one-one memorial section. As a New Yorker who lost friends in 9/11 I finally got to see a picture of a guy I grew up with, who was on the NY police department. He was a gung-ho Marine who would do anything to help people, then one of New York's finest.
Janell Dellinger
The building from the outside does not look like much but I assure you that you will not be disappointed. The entry fee was a bit steep but there are buildings upon buildings of fire trucks. I was impressed with their collection and enjoyed the 9-11 gallery. I got some great pictures. Stop and take a selfie with Smokey the Bear.
Yann Le Renard

Wonderful museum! So rich with Firefighter history! Being an Wildland Firefighter, just seeing and touching the Granite Mountain Hotshot buggy was moving for me. The section for Wildland Firefighting was very well done! I do higley recommend this place for those who love history and are volunteer, professional, current, or ex Firefighters!
Sarah Charlton
So Much History of Fighting Fires... There are so many things to see, learn and explore. Prices are good and they have a couple kid friendly areas for little firefighters to explore! A Must Visit if you're in the Area!
James Jacobson
Took my son to see this and he had a blast
Pavel Rodriguez
The best of museum arround the world. Is a must be visited. They have truly work of human mechanical art 🎨 . The volunteer staff are very knowledgeable and highly elegant . I will return …
Tony N
There's no live docent or guide. You're given a binder and instructed to read the description in the binder for more information on the item display. Some things already have explanations on the wall or next to their display. I'm not sure why they don't have this for every display. I found it cumbersome to flip though the binder. The collection also seems pretty random. There's no continuity of a story line. Just lots of old fire apparatuses of a bygone era with little context to explain its evolution to present day firefighting. They have several TVs and projectors that appear to be set up to play videos. None were turned on and played anything. And at the end of the day, I didn't walk away learning anything new.
They claimed to be the biggest fire museum in the world. Not sure how one can verify this but I won't argue that it's fairly big. But they could do a much better job of explaining things on display.
Ashlee Johnson
My husband and I are huge firefighting fans because he used to be one. We stopped in and its so cool and I love the trucks and how excited it made my husband. 10 stars from my family . Definitely coming back to visit with the kids.
Mike Rogers
The display is not only the history of Fire Service, but it's the history of America!
Highly recommend visiting the museum.
Alexander Vallar
The subject and content of the collection is very rare and extensive. The curator has done an outstanding job collecting a lot of memorabilia but the museum could use work on its presentation an organization. For example, I was given a binder of information on the different exhibits. This information would have been better presented as individual placards next to their respective content. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the experience immensely and appreciate the dedication of the staff to present this important niche topic. #kidfriendly #wheelchairaccessible

The Hall of Flame collection is on of the best collections of fire equipment I have ever seen. It can be a day long event for a firefighter or antiques aficionado. Anyone going to Phoenix should build in at least half a day to visit this museum. Absolutely great!
Chuck Linton
What a neat place to learn about fire trucks. I wanted to be a fireman. Unfortunately, I am now a sheet music salesman.
Mark Jackson
Great museum! The staff were very helpful, and fun people.
Charlotte Burke
If you have never gone to the hall of flame, please go. It is the most fantastic place and learned alot about fire trucks. The 911 exhibit was wonderful.
John Junior
Very unique learning experience. Anyone can Google fire fighting history. But to see the actual machines in real life and reading about their history leaves a much more meaningful impact. Great experience for young and old.
frances chacon
There is a lot of history here. My family enjoyed all the trucks on site. My son enjoyed the hands on play area as well.
The men who were there had a lot of information to share.
William Gibson
One of America's great museums a must see of fire history. The rarest of rare artifacts I loved every minute of my visit. I even came across a few fire rigs that came from long island towns I lived in and the crown jewel rescue one that was rebuilt after being destroyed on september 11th, 2001 standing on its backstep where some of the greatest and bravest stood at some of the worst incidents will forever be remembered. The helmets and insurance plaques to the steamers and hand pulled carts it's the greatest collection and I could spend hours in that museum. The curator on duty a ex new Yorker was a great help and a touch of home and helped solve a lot of questions! If your in town .......GO!
Jessica Cagle
Absolutely wonderful place. Great exhibits. Our 5 yr old and 8 yr old loved it along with us. They learned alot here. Even the gift shop is very reasonable in prices. :) highly recommended!!!

A fascinating look at firefighting equipment from as far back as the 18th century. Immaculately cared for, the museum and it's contents are well worth a couple dollars to see the incredible craftsmanship and engineering.

In Phoenix, you have to check this place out, plan on a couple of hours, absolutely incredible collection of Firefighting equipment as old as 1725 ,one of the highlights of our trip !!
Benjamine Peetz
A very nice find. If you're a firefighter, or have kids that love firefighters, it is worth the price of admission. There are a huge assortment of motorized and non-motorized fire apparatus, protective clothing displays and we'll as tributes to wildland firefighters, EMS professionals and firefighters from around the world.
Cory Jackson
Perfect museum with an amazing number of rare exhibits. Docents were fun and knowledgeable.
Gordon R
It's a remarkable collection that was primarily accumulated by George F. Getz, Jr.. This a treasure trove of primarily late 19th up to mid 20th century pumpers, ladder trucks, steamers, and vehicles designed for duty in controlling wildfires.
I remain deeply touched by the memorials to 9/11 and the pumper acquired by the museum from the FDNY. Also the Granite Hotshots Memorial and their service truck stir a profound and powerful appreciation of their sacrifice fighting the Yarnell Hill Fire.
They're so many more tributes and memorials to reflect and appreciate.
Why I decided to only rate 4 stars for the Hall is my sense that everything has a sense of energy that left the building. I say this reluctantly because so much has been done to build and create this space.
Simply put updates, modernizing the exhibits, enlarging the space, and expanding staff will bring the 5th star.
Love the fact that our two guides/ docents have been there for 20+ years. Dedication comes in so many ways.
Thanks for keeping a light shining on our first responders.
Keri Haenni
Should be a bucket list destination for every firefighter! A very well organized and exceptionally clean museum of firefighting that is well worth the time and entry fee!!!

The history of each vehicle just boggles the mind. Beautiful workmanship. Fun areas for the kids. Plus, the 9 11 memorial is very special.
Ivy Frimodig
Me and my daughter had a great time looking at all the fire engines and learned why Dalmatians we're fire dogs. I could not get over how beautiful some of fire engines were and left really appreciating our firefighters for all that they do and they sacrifices they make for people like me and my daughter.
