Reviews of Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum
Stephen Malone
This was a great place to visit, if you have an interest in how some of the best music in the USA has been made. You can even try out some of the 'instruments' and make your own music! Enjoyed the Jimi Hendrix section. I went late in the day, and stayed about an hour, but if you enjoy music you may need a little longer.

So at first glance I thought this was a Musicians as in all genre of music Museum, and hall of fame like The Rock n Roll hall of fame but for everyone. I was mistaken. This is to celebrate people that you may not be familiar with like instrumentalist. There are well known people too like B.B. King and Elvis. There's a lot of people who were songwriters maybe a guitarist who played on solo artist albums with names you would recognize. I think the tickets are a bit steep if going on a weekday I suggest just going there was hardly anyone there and you'll avoid the $2 online fee charged for getting a ticket in advance. I liked how it was organized,I'm over all glad we went. There was a lot of interesting information. I do not recommend downloading the app, the first couple audio tour sound clips worked but then it crashed and would not restart. It did not have any discounts for the gift shop as advertised either. Apparently there is a YouTube channel I haven't checked it out but would probably give some insight if this is something you'd be interested in.

This museum is mostly about the people & band behind the main singer, artist. There were a lot of names I did not recognize. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it wasn’t what I expected. Definitely recommend if you know music history from 50-60’s, I think you’ll enjoy it more. Johnny Cash section was most interesting. There are a lot of guitars, drum sets, recording sets. Seems like they’ve got a lot of space to grow into, so maybe that’ll help expand the museum.

I visited the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum as part of the Total Access Pass. I guess I'm limited in my repertoire of music. There was only a section or two that I was familiar with. The rest - not really. Their interactive exhibits weren't the greatest. If you're a music lover of all sorts, you'd probably take more time exploring and really enjoy it. For me specifically, it was just okay. I did like the "Evolution of Recorded Sound" exhibit.

Kinda wish we had gone to the Country Music Hall of Fame instead. This was a nice tribute to musicians but the audio information was too long to hold our attention and we wanted to keep moving. We enjoyed the interactive music-making, the Grammy movie and the intro movie a lot.
T
Very cool museum that’s more focused on session musicians that contributed to (largely) rock and country acts throughout the years. Has an interactive section, as well as lots of costumes, sales awards, memorabilia, and equipment. I think the average person would probably spend two or so hours here.

$28 dollars entrance. Not worth it IMHO. I was vacationing in Nashville and this was a priority place for me to see. The first time I went the doors were still locked 30 min post opening. Returned the next day. Saw the little pre-tour video which was slick. The museum itself has some great memorabilia but the displays are too dense with info cards and there doesn't seem to be a flow or theme from display to display. Way smaller than I expected. Just not worth the money. I expected a museum to rock and roll to be lively and interactive. Maybe guitars people could play. Maybe keyboards to diddle with. PS- what's up with that cluster of pianos just sort of stuck in the hall and surrounded by velvet ropes.
beautiful world
Place is kind of cool. It is a museum but also has some instruments that you can play with a simulator. Only thing is that entrance price is really high for what it is. 28$ per person plus parking. (at least I didnt find free parking or cheap parking close to it). If I remember, you could park on the street and pay with coins !!!!! In my case I dont carry coins so I had to park close to the bus station and it was $20.
Oak Metcalfe
Had a private event there and the place is awesome for any music fan. I didn't realize how little time we had there and wasted too much time at dinner, but I could spend WEEKS in this place looking at all the stuff. Very cool.
Samantha C.
I recommend The Musicians Hall of Fame for all music lovers! There's a lot of history here, but also interactive sections that allow you to play different instruments, sing karaoke, pretend to be a producer, and more! Definitely check it out!
Angel Seymour
In a word, AMAZING! From the moment you walk in, be prepared to be in awe of the greatest music and musicians in history
From Johnny Cash (my favorite) to The Rolling Stones, the memorabilia is just breathtaking.
The entire staff are super friendly and attentive.
Max Wood
This is a GREAT self guided tour. 5 stars from me. The amount of stuff AND information is almost overwhelming. Lots of interactive kiosks for kids OR adults who haven't grown up ( like me). Seriously, if music is part of your life then you must do this museum.
Korean Kodiak
Not very impressive at first, but the deeper you go into the museum the better it gets. There are instruments you can actually play. There are lots of neat displays. Plenty of videos you can watch telling the story of american music.
Dan Hines
This place is definitely worth the visit. Great displays and tons of history! Very glad I went.
Isaura Garcia
I went three years ago, very memorable.
"It's worth it! You get to see short movies, interact with music instruments, learn about amazing artists, and learn what Music City is all about!"
Isaac Montes
I came here on a trip to Nashville and it was the highlight! So many incredible artifacts from different eras of music and the interactive parts such as drum lessons and playing as a band were great. I think it would be much better if there were more separate rooms for people to interact with such as more than one recording studio, and the only one was broken.
M M
We used our "total access pass" available at the visitors center. Better than the Country Music Hall of Fame for us. We spent over 2 hours while other people flew by us. I don't think they have a clue what they were missing. Very well put together exhibits on studios, studio musicians, well known musicians and some lesser known. We enjoyed it greatly. Kudos to the staff!
Danielle Nowlin
this is a great place to go if you aren’t a big country music fan. they have artists of all different music genres. very interactive too! it took us 2 hours to only get 3/4 of the way through before they closed so give yourself enough time
Kathie Pearson
Wow. You could spend hours here learning about the history of musicians. Its not just the singers its the writers, producers, and technicians.
John Cawthorne
Beautiful bldg, fabulous display of American leading musicians’ guitars and history and photo display. Fascinating. We had a great couple hours in this venue.
Kimberly Wadsworth
This is definitely a "must see" if you're going to Nashville and love learning about music. We had a blast and enjoyed the interactive activities!
Magali S
A place to stop by on your visit to Nashville. Very interesting place, you need about 90 minutes to see and do all the activities, is very interactive, if you love music you will find this place amusing. We enjoyed our visit there.
Fritz Capp
Another trip through the musical history of Nashville but this time it isnt just country... its rock... its r&b, its blues and jazz ... its who has recorded here in Nashville and its about the songwriters .... it shows that Nashville is anything but a one trick pony .... i am so glad we honeymooned here in Nashville!!! .we learned so much.
Christine Qanaan
If you like a music history, that place should be on your list… there is everything how was started music recording field in USA… a lot of famous records, things that the best bands used to have and work with, and it’s not just a place where you can spend your time, it’s a place where you going back to the past and get some interesting insights…
Ryan Cinder9
The exhibit was very exiting so much history and things to learn. Very kid friendly with much to do. If you have am hour to spare I would recommend. Everything was also very well put together being organized and just an overall amazing experience. Would come here again if I get the chance.
Steven Miller
Great place!!! Clean restrooms. Food was the only thing that could have been better
Sol Ayoub
It was ok, I think they should have more informative group tours
Rams07
2023 i had a great time! this is a fantastic learning spot. it's small, but with alot to learn, touch, and look at musical instruments.
Harvey Messing
Getting street entrance to the large building the museum is housed in is tricky. The best way to get there from Broadway is to walk on 4th Street toward Union Street, keep going until you see a large round building, then find the Gay Street entrance. What I liked best was the rock and roll and other singer's (Roy Orbison, Glen Campbell, Jerry Lee Lewis) memorabilia and photographs. I also liked the past-to-present display of radios and record players. Look for a display of Robert F. Kennedy's portable stereo record playing unit he used when he traveled. I spent three hours there and I felt that it was not enough.
Rochelle Coll
Been there several times. Joe Chambers and family have made the Musician’s Hall of Fame a wonderful and educational place for all ages. It’s AMAZING!!!! All of the musicians unbelievable talent and history in every room! Take your family and friends!!
suzanne tranfaglia
Very nice so interesting! Lots of memorabilia all genres!
R. L.
Visited 12/4/2020. I didnt know what to expect before coming here. A lot of the people I've met that have been here have said always been one of those places that you have to visit.
The interactive sites in the museum are closed due to covid 19. But I was able to still enjoy my self looking at all the artists, musicians accomplishments, accolades, awards. Such an amazing place. If you love music, especially how early music has started out like me. You should enjoy yourself.
James M.
Good exhibit. Price is a little high. Parking is a nightmare. Street parking is coins only!!
Diane Pellecchia
The history of music!
Johnny Cash, Elvis, Motown, etc.. it was fascinating. The museum is not too big, so you aren't spending the whole day here. There was alot to see though. You can buy souvenirs in the lobby and you'll get to keep your VIP lanyard. Cost was $25.00 to get in and well worth it.
Barry Kenney
Great viewing from all seats. Parking is challenging. A lot of history.
Jonathan Cook
Way better than expected, don't judge it from the outside appearance. We were hesitating at stopping in from the look on the outside looking a little dated and worn, but figured we would try it and glad we did. The exhibits were clean, well maintained, modern and fresh and shockingly different than what we had expected. Our kids loved the wide range of history shown and the interactive stations throughout the building. There was so much more history to various musicians and artists than we had ever known. Looking at various instruments, documents, and even outfits worn gave us a great appreciation for this museum. We definitely recommend visiting this location and will be back the next time in town.
Kim N
A must visit in Nashville. This gem is unassuming but deceptively huge/packed with this to see. Great flow throughout the museum with well spaced videos and seats. Incredible exhibits; though I may not be a fan of all the musicians highlighted, I felt as though I was in the presence of greatness throughout. It was pretty hot while we were here on a 60-70 degree sunny April day.
They had some great points in videos about the importance of Black artists to all of American music, but would love to see a bigger emphasis on highlighting those artists throughout in the exhibits.
Definitely worth the $25 adult/$15 youth price. My 9 year old was able to hang without getting bored for about 2 hrs.
They are doing great with Covid protocols. Wearing and requiring masks. Though there weren't employees placed throughout, I didn't see any patrons without one. At the interactive exhibits, they have wipes, hand sanitizer, and recepticals with signage for keeping things clean.

AMAZING, SO INFORMATIVE A MUST DO WHILE IN NASHVILLE
Wife & I holidaying in your beautiful country for 2 months & spent 2 glorious 2 days in Nashville NOT LONG ENOUGH though so we will be back. We spent about 4 hours in your museum. We were a group of 6 friends visiting & played a lot with all your interactive instruments. I grew up listening to alot of this type of music with my parents constantly playing records so I was really in her element & wanted to look at everything in detail. This is a great museum with a lot of memorabilia If you are a really big music lover than this certainly is a must even if you are not still worth viewing. Tickets are not expensive at all. Great job keep up the awesome displays. Just for a little thank you we received a FREE guitar pick as a souvenir.
Kat R
I absolutely loved this place. I got a groupon deal and went with my daughter while in Nashville for Christmas vacation. I really enjoyed myself. I love history and music so it was perfect. So much memorabilia from the decades and there are also interactive exhibits. You can pretend to record your own studio session in a studio with microphones that work. They also have base guitars, drum sets, and many other instruments you can hold and interact with. The Grammy exhibit is amazing. As well as the Jimmy Hendrix, Johnny Cash, etc. I could have stayed longer but my daughter wasn't into it as much as I was.
Di “Di Soul” Gamble
The was an awesome museum to visit! The staff is friendly, helpful & full of fun facts and information. This multimedia experience is suitable for most age groups( in my opinion). I am fairly certain that there were wheelchairs available but it is most definitely wheelchair accessible. It's interactive & quite open (spacious), so I never felt cramped or crowded. There's soo much to see, though the flow & layout weren't the best in my opinion.
It was a fairly wide range of music & music history explored here, not just country music! And lots of musical instruments & equipment for visitors to try for themselves. There's an entire Grammy room that offers more than expected and lots of photo opts all around. They encourage it!
This museum is on the Tennessee Music Pathways and a Greyline tour stop. Don't forget to stop by the cute little gift shop before leaving. Great family trip location.
Sun Flower
I can not say enough ! This was amazing , staff was great. It’s a stop on the old town Trolly wich was great ! They have somthing from all genres in here , nice interactive stuff. You get to travel thru time with Hendrix, Cash, Wall they a old mobile studio, see the Grammy exhibit and so much more. Price is great . Take about 2 hours to really enjoy all the stuff. They have Elton panio, Garth’s mixer board, Elvis clothes, Paul Shaffer keyboard , different studio exhibits. A must see if your in Nashville
Diane Mentzer
Fantastic collection of instruments and memorabilia!! So great to see the musicians we all listen to without even knowing it recognized and honored. Terrific tour guide with lots of amazing stories!!
Zach Martin
This place was great!
I really enjoyed going through the museum. I'm not big into country music but really enjoyed the museum, people and all the things I learned.
I did find myself spending more time on the 3rd floor so didn't spend as much on the 2nd. But I also felt like the 3rd was better.
As you can tell from the pictures I posted I enjoyed the cars more than the music.
Brittany
This was an enjoyable tour and experience. There are some fascinating pieces and an overall one of a kind trip and should definitely be placed on your to-do list when visiting Nashville. There’s so much history here and it’s an impressive setup.
Ada L
Everybody talks about the Country Music Hall of Fame, but because I wanted learn more about all sorts of music, not just one genre, I ended up coming here. What a great idea. Very fun museum - the hands on, interactive Grammy gallery was my favourite part! I didn't think I would spend nearly 3 hours here. Music lovers should come and jam.
James Briggs
We visited Nashville and wanted to check out some of the local attractions. The Musicians Hall of Fame was well worth the money. There are interactive displays that my son was totally into. Definitely go here.
A C
It's a nice neat place to walk around and look at the artists. The most fun part was at the very end where you could play the instruments available. It's alright, no one will hear you. U wear the headphones and only you hear yourself. It's fun.
Paige Penbera
So much fun! I visited with my mom and my nana, and the interactive section was such a blast! It was a great experience overall.
Michael Larson
I enjoyed the history and everything on display. My daughter loved being able to play the instruments!
Rich Lopez
We went in about an hour before close and we wished we would have had more time this is an emersive experience where you can watched the greats as the made great music in their prime with a lot of interesting artifacts including Santana's drum set from Woodstock, the Jimi Hendrix Experience Exhibit, and the best thing was the live instruments you could play at the Grammy Experience. Towards the back it's a little hard to notice if your running through but behind the large Grammy statue there's a whole back area that makes this entire experience and they go through the hands on mechanics of how each of the instruments are played and how they play a vital role. You gotta see and experience it go with time and enjoy. They do have hand sanitizer and wipes at the stations to ensure safety.
Bridget Booth
This is easily the best music-related museum in the city. It's less a collection of trinkets with trivia on cards and more a music education course. There's tons of interactive exhibits and films. The staff is super helpful and knowledgeable, too.
Andru Voss
One of my favorite museums I visited on my road trip! Highly recommend and I absolutely loved the Jimmi Hendrix area. Take your time there! Museum is highly interactive too!
-BlueTea-
Fantastic collection of instruments by famous musicians including Jimmy Hendrix, Les Paul, Elton John, Ravi Shankar, etc. Also much history of the recording studios.
I was very impressed with the interactive music instruments courtesy of Roland and the Grammy record history. Lots and I mean lots of golden and platinum record awards.
Also appreciated the opportunity to get a discount off the ticket price if you are a teacher, student, disability or military.
Paul Osorio, Jr
This is a truly hidden gem.. we enjoyed all the interactive things they have to offer. Had so much fun learning the history of everything that goes into making Music.. a must stop to visit.
Vanessa Lang
Definitely worth seeing it. It is a fun interactive museum with instruments to play with. It definitely has nostalgic character.
Esther
As a tourist from Indiana, I absolutely loved it! The place was so organized, and I enjoyed the music and learned many things when it came to the history behind majority if the music!
Olive D above
Loved it. $25 to go in (online or inside). Takes about 2hrs to get through everything but I easily could go back to stop & stare at more. Dont forget your water like me and end up spending 3 bucks!!?!? ugh.
Laurel Lawrence
Had a ton of fun here with 3 teenagers. Tons of interactive exhibits. We could have easily spent way more time here!
J Nickels
Fantastic! The displays were very interesting, I love seeing all the guitars drums and pianos. There was a great mix of genres and the look into the past was phenomenal
Donnie Holloway
Have been to many museums but this was the first time I was able to be engage in the actual feel the museum was about. It was due to the interactive instruments, sound equipment and studio you get to play and sing in. Intended to stay only 2hours but 4hours later left still smiling.
Mark Weinmann
Affordable entry great exhibits Many musical items from different Parts of the music world. Many great interactive exhibits.
Marquis Moore
I didn't know what to expect based on some of the mixed reviews I saw previously. Overall I was pleasantly surprised. I think it did a good job of showcasing some lesser known people that were very impactful in the music industry.
Colin Underwood
Seriously one of the coolest museums I have been to. A real deep dive into historys lesser knowns. They have A LOT of session gear, a great way to spend an afternoon.
Mary Waynick
We really enjoyed our tour. I loved watching my grandson looking at all the different radios from past years. Lots of history of wonderful musicians!
Travelbug
Great museum with perfect mix between history, art effect, interactive elements. You can easily spend hours there but not have enough of it.
W.A. R
This is a huge place, easily 2 hours of walking. So much info. I wouldn't take small kids, they might get bored. But there are cool interactive things. The Grammy room was amazing
Erica
As a music lover, I must say this place was great! I wish it was bigger and there was more to see. The parking is way too expensive though. Please consider validating parking in the garage.
James Agnew
If you love music like I love music and are interested in the people who create the great hits of history you must visit the place. I got stuck on the Tom Petty station for twenty minutes.
Debbie Nault
When we got there thought hum.....Let me tell you I LOVED IT!!! there was so much more to it than you think!! The staff was friendly just really awesome. I have a lot of visitors throughout the year so I will have an enjoyable place to go and there is so much to see I will always have something new to see!
Tabitha
We saw the circus there. We enjoyed the show. The building is outdated but loved the ticket decorations. My Grandfather helped with building the place.
Nikki Eubanks Mery
The museum was great! It was interactive and that is important for children with lots of energy. I plan to visit again because we didn't get to see it all.
Brandon Huff
My Goodness. What an experience. Wish I had more time. The right price for what you can do and see. If you love music, this is the place.
Ron Mckenzie
The interactive parts of this place as you can see in the videos are a blast to try lol! So much history. More setup for adults. Little kids will be bored.
Rebekah L. Davis
Lots of great artifacts and info about musicians with ties to Nashville. My favorite part was getting to go hands on with making music. The one improvement I would suggest would be to rearrange the layout so that visitors walk through the narrative, rather than wandering from one exhibit to the next.
Michael Collier
Great experience overall for the family. The interactive portion wa super cool and my son really loved it.
Shadowsongs
Oh my goodness. This place is amazing!! There is so much RICH history here! I wont post many pictures because you should experience this for yourself!
Natalie Voogt
Nicely done but entry ticket is quite expensive. In addition, there's no parking, so you need to pay for street parking (coins only, no CC!) or park in garage for $10/hr! The museum exhibits and experience themselves were great, but everything around getting to and from was not pleasant.
Michelle Hayes
Loved every second. Could’ve stayed here for hours. Every piece of the museum is so creative too with all the little details, there’s little things to do and interact with as you walk around, rather than just solely reading things! Very interactive and the staff was nice.
Lisa Karas
Wow I was blown away going back ! This is a must if you are in Nashville! A definite must ,you won't be disappointed! So freakin cool!
Ed McBride
Great find. Very friendly. Nice to see those behind the big names recognized.
Ronnie Oldham
Awesome place. Well worth the money. One of the best music museums in the country. Very interactive and has wonderful exhibits. Will definitely return on next trip to Nashville.
Rich Lazar
Cool museum that really documents what it takes to make the music that we all love. It was great seeing people highlighted that are not well known but are as important as the artist that sings the song. They have a pretty cool exhibit that is interactive. I recommend stopping here for about 2 hours.
Diana Krawlzik
Spent 3 hours there! So much to see! Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Ben Marcus
This is a really fun museum if you love music and the people behind it. Instead of focusing on the pop stars and the showmanship of the singers at the front of the stage, this music honors the musicians in the background. The ones you've heard on all your favorite song but have never heard of. They have tons of musical artifacts spanning all genres, from country to soul. Spend a few hours looking around and have fun!
Terry-Ann Akers
We highly enjoyed ourselves at the Musicians Hall of Fame. It was a great experience seeing the artifacts and playing around on the musical equipment. I recommend you visiting whether you are just visiting Nashville or you are a local.
Karen Hassett
Came to the Musician's Hall of Fame and Museum for the Rolling Stones Exhibit. It was sort of expensive and we splurged on the headphones ($5 ea) which clashed with the existing audio experience. Overall, did a good job of placing the Stones in context, including disheveled dwelling dioramas and costumes. We enjoyed the hands-on mixing stations where you played sound engineer to some of your favs. Overall we left feeling: hmm, that was interesting but nothing earth-shattering.
--> if you want to have your world rocked, try the Bowie exhibit in Brooklyn. Update: it has ended by now but I would have gone to see it 3 - 4x if I could. So dense, with interactive headphones, that changed as you cycled through. <
We like supporting all-things-Nashville; will gladly return to the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum to see other exhibits.
Krista LeMoine
Sooooo much information and some very cool instruments/clothing from famous musicians. Side note: Don't expect to see too much information on famous singers--think the instrumentalists behind those famous songs. Unless you're really into music, you probably won't recognize a lot of names from this hall of fame. Still very interesting and I'm glad we went.
Rick Imus
Lots going on in this relatively new museum. Staff were personable and knowledgeable. Plenty of space for people and music. The main stage plays to a big hall, so the sound bounces quite a bit. Still the guitar wall looks amazing.
Shay Thelen
We loved looking through the museum, it was a cool spot on a hot Nashville day. We loved the Bob Marley and Johnny Cash exhibits and had fun with all the interactive stuff. The staff was very friendly.
Mark Brandy stubblefield
Really neat learning experience! Make sure you give yourself plenty of time! Took us 2 hours. It's interactive and informative! We liked trying out the instruments and singing in a recording booth!
Amanda Massih
Wish the interaction stations were better maintained - but it is definitely worth it!
Kenneth Lundberg
Hands on interaction, and great view of history laid out, throughout museum, highlighting writers, too, and not just the faces of popular tunes!
Ela Gonzz
Awesome place to start your day in Nashville. Really love this museum. A lot of history here. The museum is well made. It takes you from the beginning of music to what we have now. At the end of your tour you'll be able to be part of music history by playing along. Play the guitar, bass, drums, record a song or produce music... you'll have tons of fun with friends and family. It's a must go museum if your at Nashville.
Rebekah Webb
Well worth a trip!
Denai C
I loved that we went to visit here at a low attendance time. The woman at the front desk was great and helpful. A gentleman came over to us while we were taking photos of each other on a stage and asked if we wanted him to take one of both of us. The movie was very informative as there was so much I didn't realize about the music industry. The interactive studio exhibits were cool and all the visual ones were very well put together. I would suggest to those music lovers, a visit to this awesome museum!
Sheena Jones
Wonderfully done! A wonderful collection, great exhibits, and extremely educational. A must-see for ANY music lover!
Tabitha Duck
Attended this venue after a week long teachers conference...it was awesome had a great time in Nashville and at the museum ..yep that's me...like a rockstar 😁🍻 …
Tiffany Ruble
The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Get to watch a short movie before you walk in that is very informative on what is in the museum and what's behind everything in there. Lots of cool artifacts from all genres of music. We spent a little over an hour in here.
D Chilson
The artifacts in this museum/hall of fame did not disappoint! Was very cool to see the musical instruments and equipment used to record all of the hits you've known all your life as well as giving lots of credit to those behind the scenes who normally don't get the credit they deserve!
Mary Louise Stymiest
I highly recommend this place. It is so rich in all great musicians of all genre and the people the produced them. Including all the great country artists, but rock blues, english etc. Great expo in Jimi Hendrix and Johnny Cash. For $30 bucks - it was great. We especially loved the interactive exhibits where you could help song write, be back up singers, record songs while some played sound engineer or learned to play and instrument. We spend 3 hours and then tapped out with info over load. FYI it's stop #6 on the Trolly tour (which was wonderful as well).
Bob Brackpool
We had a great few hours looking through the memorabilia, but the highlight especially for my 13 year old son was the interactive music studio. playing instruments, singing, mixing etc. It was great fun.
Preston Bennett
A must see when going to Nashville. We spent almost 3 hours in the hall. Such a great experience
Crazedmimic
A different museum experience than I expected. It was very much about the process and the people behind the scenes that helped make our favorite music possible. The exhibits were fun and interesting.
Charlene Trickey-Durham
Absolutely amazing! Interactive and entertaining. There is so much history and art. I wish I could give this 10 stars.
David Wilder
The Musicians Hall of Fame is a Nashville landmark. The museum is a cornucopia of Rock & Roll, Country, R&B and Soul memorabilia. Fun, educational, interactive. Highly recommended!
Nicholas Hulstein
So much fun. Bring a friend for the interactive exhibits.
Mike Morency
Excellent experience and awesome tribute to the musicians who MAKE the stars.
Shawn Zoromski
This was a neat experience for all music lovers.
Brian Medus
Very enjoyable. Lots of information. Hours are a little lacking.
Pat Carver
Very interesting. Lots of interesting exhibits. Interactive exhibits.
K G
Excellent! When you are in Nashville, it is worth a few hours yo check this out. Well organized. A real tribute to musicians.
Kathy W
If you are a lover of music, this is a must see. Very informative. Prepare to spend 1 -2 hours
Brandy Bradfield
So educational, learned so much about the artist who made music possible behind the scenes. The Grammy exhibit is so much fun!
Arline Esposito
Worth every penny, even if you aren't a musician yourself you will greatly enjoy it. I highly reconvene it
Autumn Dewey
One of our favorite stops! Great museum! The big (adult) & little kids had fun in Grammy hall!
Charly Pazdor
Before visiting Nashville, we had never heard of the place. Really facinating exhibits and history. Did not expect to see a guitar from the member of the DC5 who was a saxophonist! Maybe because we visited late in the day, the staff were able to engage in some interesting conversations with us.
Kathleen Huntington
Awesome but to pricey if you wanted to see this and the special Stones exhibit.
Andrew Castro
I went on Groupon to buy my ticket. This place was so much fun. Lots of amazing things to see.
Macie W.
An up-and-coming place! A little small right now, but definitely worth a trip if you're in the Music City area.
Garrett Pelowski
Definitely recommend spending a few hours here.
Gili Bean
Fun expirience. Well worth a visit, even if you are not into country music.
David Andersen
Wonderful display of vintage instruments with their history of the artists who played them. Very nicely lit and well presented with individual areas covering different genres and eras of music as well as the vintage recording equipment used to record many artists and their songs. Also included is an interactive area where visitors are welcome to play instruments that are provided by the museum. It's a very interesting experience and well worth the time.
Perlita Ruiz
A lot of history! I recommend to any music lover who just wants to know more.
Burke Huddleston
After walking these exhibits, I walked away with a profound sense of pride in America. At the engine of creativity and world-changing music unleashed here by people of all backgrounds collaborating in this land. It brought home just how much MUSIC is a part if America's greatness, and the sterling reward of our diversity. I was moved by this place. And it was a gorgeous visual presentation. BRAVO!!!

Loved being able to visit all the Museums In Nashville TN, so Much history ❤️
Melinda Miner
Wow! Wow! Wow! So well done! Something for everyone. Most people do not realize what really goes into music. We've been to Nashville before, but never visited the museum. Make this a priority on your MUST SEE while in Nashville
X3NIO 4x3
I really enjoyed my visit here. Tj was super helpful.
Larry Arnett
Amazing collection of musicians and their stories on display. Interactive exhibits for you to try your hand at. Staff is super knowledgeable and really make your walk through complete. Big shout out to Vic for his answers to my questions. We had a great time talking “Dead” history. Definitely see a return trip here again. 👍👍👍 …
James Bruce
If you have a love 4 country music it's a must see.you will not be disappointed.
Cameron Adams
Really enjoyed the experience! Loved the recording studio.
Sheley 5
This place was well worth the money if you even have a little interest in music! We had 5 kids with us and they all had a great time with all of the interactive displays.
Elizabeth Harris
Some cool things, but overall just an eclectic mix of old instruments.
Protim Choudhury
This pla e is overwhelming with how densely pa ked it is. Every square inch in musical history. Take a whole day for it. Its worth it
Derek Van Dyke
Skeptical of this place but it's work the tour! Look on Groupon for a discount. Loved the artist focused exhibits especially Johnny Cash and Jimmy Hendrix! They also have a great GRAMMY exhibit
David Palmer
Great history, memorabilia, and portions to complete studios preserved from the recording industry. Hans on trial of current instruments. As with everything in Nashville, parking is an expensive challenge. Public garage directly across the street has a 6'1" clearance limit. Buy the Nashville pass at Visitors center downtown at the convention center.
Dominika Malinowska
Interesting museum. Loved the interactive sections, trying out instruments and singing along.
Christian Scott
Not just country music stuff, tries to cover a lot of Sun, Motown etc. Good Hendrix exhibit, interesting Grammy stuff. The bulk is kinda like Hard Rock Cafe type artifacts like "here's the guitar that an early member the band played on a couple b-sides" Smilin' is a great guide!
Cassie Clarke
This was a great way to spend a mid-morning/afternoon. This museum is filled with history, memorabilia, and interactive musical displays. My husband and I liked those interactive displays the best - I couldn’t get him off the “drumming with Ringo” bit!
Ernest Grendell
Fantastic insight to the musicians that made music from the late forties all the way up until the present time
Carissa Bartlett
Such a fun experience! My kids (3 & 4 yrs old) loved the interactive parts where they got to make their own music! We loved learning about the history of music in Nashville and beyond. So glad we decided to do this.
Steve Flack
Hands down, best music museum I've been too!!
And to see James Jamerson's bass in thr flesh! WOW
Ronda Liddell
Grandbabies enjoyed the interaction with making their own music
Timothy Ralston
My wife and I recently visited and were very pleasantly surprised at this gem that is here in Music City.
There is something inside for all music fans.
Don't miss this one !!!
Danae Whisenhunt
Pretty cool place. Went for the Rolling Stones exhibit and enjoyed everything else
Rebekah Burgess
Fabulous museum! I've never seen my husband so enthralled! He is a deep diving music junkie and had a great time!
Jake Stouch
Awesome exhibits, great staff, loved this historic place
Royce DeGrie
Best bang for your buck in Nashville. This place is definitely a 'must-see' in Nashville. Well worth the money to see so much. Come See What You've Heard™!!!
Rachel Morgan
Was excellent and interesting. The interactive portion was great fun.
Teena George
So exciting going back in music history with so many amazing musicians
Rick Brooks
This is an amazing, one of a kind museum. Yes, you'll see displays honoring stars from all genres of music. And, you'll also learn about the men and the women who worked behind the scenes to make the music come to life and grab our hearts! Musicians, writers, producers, studios and their owners are finally given the credit they so deserve! Nashville, Memphis, LA, Muscle Shoals, Detroit, and other cities that make up our American musical heritage are well represented, as well as artists and musicians from around the world! There's lots of video to see and music to hear! Joe Chambers dream to honor those unsung heroes takes us on a fascinating journey through the decades of hits! Must see!
Loralee
Very interesting, music is Nashville's heart!
K Q
MUST-GO. Very interactive, fun, place.
The gift shop is very overpriced though.
Dennis Derichs
We loved the diversity of this museum. It was spectacular covering the different artists and their support musicians. The ONLY reason I went to 4 stars is the interactive section. Not the museum's fault. Mine. I can't sing, direct or support any musician! 😂 …
Ian Strother
Great museum. Awesome interactive experience.
Taylor
Had a good time with the interactive displays playing different instruments and singing. Very informative. Gift shop does not have much of anything though unfortunately. If you are debating between here and the Johnny Cash museum, go here because they have a whole Johnny Cash section and it is almost the same price.
Sarah W
Very interesting. And my kids loved the interactive section.
OnlyIf ItsChocolate
What a lot of cool info! Why does Roy Orbison wear dark glasses? What does a trash can lid have to do with "Josie" by Steely Dan?...you'll find out here! This is the Musicians Hall of Fame and there is so much more than "Country" here!! Very enjoyable!!!
Alexis Romero
Love love love!! It was amazing!! It was nice that when you got there they greeted you warmly and then had you watch a video that explained more about the museum as a whole. Part of it was looking at instruments and seeing memorabilia of famous performers and the other part was interactive. You got to learn more about instruments and the different parts of a recording studio!! I would definitely go again!!
CJ Wallace
I thoroughly enjoyed the interactive part of this experience. My wife and I spent upwards of 2 hours in this museum.
Allie Sarway
Great museum! So fun and interactive and great for all ages. Vik was a great guide and overall help to our experience. Will definitely be coming back my next time in Nash!
John Burwell
By far the best experience of my trip. In some ways this rivaled Hall of Fame in Cleveland. Very helpful audio guide to download on phone. Plan to spend at least half a day. Excellent!
Greco Band
Such an amazing place, we had a great time. If you want to do the special exhibits buy all the tickets together and save some $$$
@wearegreco
J McMullen
We enjoyed our visit here. There was lots to learn about the music industry and the recordings. We loved all of the exhibits and learned about all the different musicians that help put together records.
Jimmy Knight
Great place to learn about the history of music in Nashville.
Corey Perkins
If you like music history this is your place!
Michaell Lugo
Really nice and informative place. Great staff that will answer ANY questions. Got to really love music to come here. It it's fenomenal
Vicki Braun
There is so much to see and experiences for everyone. The interactive exhibit is great for younger kids and older adults alike. There are so many artifacts from so many different musicians and genres. It is a great collection and the museum and exhibits are done well. Worth going if you are a music fan.
Lewis Stewart
A must see for any music lover. Many interactive displays and videos.
Nick Doriot
Very cool place! Would also be a great museum for kids as they do have a lot of hands on instrument exhibits. Lots of great background and history with tons of memorabilia. Loved the Grammy section as it explained a lot about the whole music process and had the hands on stuff. Definitely make a visit if you have time.
Jaccob Bell
9/10 was there for a concert was a bit disappointed by everything other than the actual show it's self
Richard Turcott
If you love music, this place is completely and totally enjoyable. We visited Nashville from Massachusetts and of all the great sites, this was the best.
Debbie Bryan
Loved it! Lots of history and fun things to do.....recording booth, sing along with Ray Charles as his backup singers, learn about the making of a record, play instruments, and more! Really fun. Figure on at least an hour or 2.
jenna cerny
My kids actually enjoyed going to this museum. There was a lot of interactive areas, which kept them interested. However there were a couple things we tried that didn't really work or we couldn't figure out. Overall, a great place to visit.
Valerie Lopez
Nice collection. We enjoyed the Jimi Hendrix and Grammy exhibits a lot.
Boost Fiend
I guess u really need to be a country music fan to fully appreciate this place.
In all fairness we aren't huge country music fans but we read that you didn't need to be.
The exhibits were very well done, with focus on the older artists like Johnny Cash.
We did enjoy the Tom Petty exhibit with some footage of him being inducted into the Musicians HOF.
We've visited the Rock & Roll HOF In Cleveland & I guess we expected it to be more like that.
Marvelous Tours
It was a lot of information on music history. I understand the city of Nashville much better now.
David Potts
Full of interesting information and memorabilia. But no cafe facilities
Gabby Johnson
It was amazing! There were these large guitar statue/standees before you walk in the museum itself, and they're awesome! I love the interior. The tickets and souvenirs are a little overpriced, but still, it's amazing. It's very in-depth, and interesting, not boring. It's great for musicians/music lovers.
Austin Bloom
The history and exhibits are great. It is a great flow - the items and mementos are priceless to see. ONLY reason we took a star off is that a few of the staff members were super rude. It wasn’t a deal killer though, we enjoyed the exhibits and would absolutely recommend our friends to go.
J Man
Great museum, took us a few hours to get through highly recommend if your in Nashville to check it out! Learned a lot about music history!
ellen coyne
If you love music and you're over 40 go here!
Aidan Riley
I have to say, I didn't see the museum itself. We decided to hit up the gift shop and decide from there if we wanted to see the museum or not. Hopefully the gift shop wasn't an indication of the museum itself. For a museum of supremely artistically talented people, the merchandise they had to offer was pretty disappointing.
Carol Saniuk
Hard to find parking and it wasn't cheap to park. Entrance to the museum was in a strange place. It was fairly pricey to get in, but if you are into the musicians side of music... it is a very enjoyable museum. We spent 2 hours and weren't bored. People working there were very nice too.
Melissa Torrez
Was a little put off by the appearance of the building....but inside Museum was AWESOME!! We had a very enjoyable experience!!
Abby Boone
The exhibits ranged in quality a bit. Many of them were interactive, which was fun. Overall, I felt it was overpriced. This place would be best for very serious music lovers and for people who are primarily interested in older musicians. Very contemporary artists were represented only minimally. Street parking at a meter is $2.75ish per hour and this museum can be easily explored in it's entirety in less than two hours.
Ralph Debaro
Great place, loved everything about it. A must for people to go to and see.
JR Auctioneer
Was going to say this is a music lover's paradise... but it's really a musician fan's paradise. Fans know the names of the musicians behind the leads.
Seeing the artifacts behind the most famous songs we grew up with and love... the actual guitars, drum sets, pianos and recording equipment that those iconic anthems of America were created on that live in all our ears and our hearts are right there to behold just inches away.
A true music lover will shed a tear for the talent we've lost to the grave, and maybe even tears of nostalgia when realizing the piano you're looking at is the actual one that is playing in the background that accompanied your most cherished memories. A drum kit that actually played the beat of your favorite songs that was also your theme song as you walked to that same beat.
If you're in Nashville, don't miss the Musicians Hall of Fame. It's a museum that we can all relate to because, in a sense, it is also about us... in our time... and those amazing, talented people who lived among us, in our lifetime, and just how important a part they played in our lives. That, without their creations, our lives would have been less full and maybe even less understandable.
AK Jen
Country music is not my particular flavor of music but I enjoyed very much learning and appreciating this music. This Country Music Hall of Fame is worth a visit. Very fun museum. The hands on, interactive Grammy gallery was my favourite part! I didn't think I would spend nearly 3 hours here. Music lovers should come and jam.
Rachel Peres
I enjoyed it. My only wish is that they had replicas of the instruments so you can pose with them
OTRx Travel
Wonderful experience. Decent amount of diversity and overall cool experience. You can nearly feel the energy of music legends as you walk through actual studio elements that they rocked out in.
Kathleen Elbert
Recommend upgrade to audio tour. Lots to do and see!
Ashley Collins
Very interesting and interactive! So much history to be seen and so much to do inside that adds to it!
Aidan S.
Pricey but so interesting and fun. My teenagers and I had a great time here. The interactive exhibits were amazing. We spent hours playing instruments, learning to drum with Ringo Starr, pretending we were in a recording studio and more. The Jimi Hendrix exhibit was my favorite.
jim wood
Plus side, good history, nice displays.
Minuses: Many of the interactive areas were not working, headphones with only one side, no instructions posted for for "live" stage equipment.
Kimber C
Lots of information to take in. Lots of standing and reading. I would've loved to buttons to push to listen to some of the information. Or even a place to sit and listen to the music that got them out in the HOF. Really enjoyed the movie and watching my son with a guitar in his hands.
Andreas Andersen
Great place. Was uncertain whether this would be suitable for our kids or not (11, 9, 7 years) but they loved it even more than my wife and I did. Great place with a whole lot to do for the entire family. Lots of interactive stuff where you can test your vocals (karaoke and recording studio) and dj skills. Also pretty good selection of articles from numerous artists. Highly recommended!!
DooBoo LaShae
So pretty and this was my first time in Tennessee. I loved it especially downtown. I barley wanted to leave.
Brian Bulkowski
Thus place is small and super geeky. If you know guitars and gear you will see some fun stuff. I am not sure how much fun it is for civilians.
Karl Heeter
Enjoyed over two hour visit. At my age, it brought back many memories of growing up in the 50's and 60's. Very well done, comfortable and not rushed. Points out that there is way more going on behind the scenes that you have no idea how it works not how much work is involved. There were individual tributes for so many musicians. You could focus on one or dozens. It spanned Country, Rock and Roll, Woodstock and many more.
Victor Logvinov
Very interesting collection. It's definitely wonderful a mix of musical genres & styles. Well presented artifacts with insightful explanations, facts or interview clips. Well curated. Initially wasn't sure what to expect, but this place is DENSE with some of coolest THINGS. Plan on spending several hours or hoping you had more time than you anticipated you'd need. I'll be back, for sure, bringing more out-of-town guests wondering, "what is there to see in Nashville".
Gary Purnell
What a place. So much history. Make it a must visit place
Sherry Erickson
Top notch museum. Very well done!
David Cunningham
Totally incredible. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Thank you Joe Chambers for the Hall and for all of the great interviews that you now share on your YouTube channel.
Richard Wilson
Was a good visit but expected more for the price.
Steve McKinnis
Incredible museum with an outstanding staff!! The music history tour will allow you to relive old memories and create some new ones. All age groups will enjoy the entire museum.
John Wessels
Fantastic Rolling Stones exhibit. Had a lot of fun. Within walking distance to other attractions as well.
Jessica Moralez
Number one on my top three best museums in downtown Nashville
brianne mooney
*3.5 stars. We got a groupon so it was a good price. But the *rolling stones exhibit was an extra $20 each we did not pay the extra fees to see. Cool to see, bit small. I’d choose the country music hall of fame over this one ( more because of size and how much there is to see). The interactive exhibits were cool. Took two adults to see it in an hour.
Shawna Gonza'lez
My family and I loved it! So much to look at and share with my daughter!
Tim Moore
The museum was great and we loved every minute of it. They had us sit through a 5 minute video in the beginning. Then we got to walk through the museum. We found are tickets on Groupon which saved us some money. The bathroom is out in the front lobby part, none throughout the museum. Great time.
Niko Mikelis
They have everything a musician would love to see. It's relatively cheap to go to and is really fun!
Larry Whitaker
This is a great museum dedicated to all musicians who recorded records. Lots of memorabilia and information as well as instruments. We really liked it but then we're musically inclined. Wouldn't' recommend for children.
John Kehl
I'm really glad I visited the MHoF. They have a number of interesting exhibits that spotlight some of the lesser known aspects of the music and recording industry. Although it's not as flashy or well-funded as the country music HoF, I preferred this place. There's more substance there, as they focus on concepts and important developments rather than fashion and wardrobe.
Glenn OConnor
This is the fun collection of real musical memorabilia. Actual instruments used by the musicians. It was a nice experience.
Sean Stout
Venue was decent but nothing to write home about.
James Zhu
Cool place at a historic location in Nashville. The exhibits mostly contained artifacts and showpieces from many different eras in history. Would recommend mainly for music buffs who would really appreciate the historical significance in American music. The interactive Grammy exhibit was very fun and family friendly.
Katrina Koerper
An incredible, extensive collection of impressive music artifacts, including the instruments used to record some of the biggest hits in history. There's even a surf board signed by all of the Beach Boy and a drawing created by Paul McCartney! An essential for music lovers and an exciting experience anyone.
Ruud Smets
This is absolutely awesome!
Interesting and interactive!
I think we played the instruments longer than we did the actual tour!
The staff is friendly and very helpful.
The price is right for what you get!
Jeff Stocker
Absolutely fantastic place. There's several interactive rooms and an amazing amount of information. The displays have numbers which correspond to audio that plays through an app on your phone.
Teresa Bailley
We had a wonderful time at this museum. The ceo is unbelievably kind. The workers are all helpful and knowledgeable. The hands on part was incredible. I spent all afternoon with my 16 and 13 year old children and they did not touch their phones or headphones except to take pictures!
G. GIBBS
So cool. Really take your time and read what all they have there. The curator is just AWESOME! If you get a chance to meet and chat with him, please do. He has so many amazing stories and facts about the place, it's infectious. So many original pieces we have all heard in our life, very cool to see those instruments and stories.
Crystal Metcalfe
Cool place to go if you are into history of music and sound. Not too expensive, takes about 2 hours to tour the entire museum. My mom, dad, 17 year old son and I really enjoyed it for a small something to do.
M M
Outstanding! It was a wonderful, immersive experience from beginning to end. The Hendrix exhibit is fabulous. For music lovers, this is must see. I’m very grateful that all of this has been collected, preserved, and so beautifully and thoughtfully assembled and displayed.
Vincent Diesel
Great experience. A hidden gem off the strip.Tons of great memorabilia and it was very cool to learn the story behind all of it. The museum goes through the history of american music and covers all genres. There are also some really cool interactive exhibits with instruments, production booths and electronic synth music. You start off the experience with a short video. One of the lines from the video really stayed with me. "It's one thing to be called a pop star or a rock star, but the greatest compliment of all is when another musician says you're a great musician." I'm very happy I went
Rob Wehrli
Fun and informative. Quite a lot to see for a relatively low cost. Very nice range of musicians including popular session players. The Jimi Hendrix exhibit was quite a bit more interesting than I would have expected.
Scott Fisher
Visited during our first trip to Nashville. There is a reason this place has so many positive reviews! It's definitely off the beaten path but well worth the effort to visit, especially if you like music. The gate price is a little high (we visited as part of a City Pass) but there are usually good deals available on Groupon.
Jon DePalma
Unique history of the people behind some of the greatest music ever made. The interactive Grammy exhibit was also a blast. Worth the visit if you love music history, especially on a hot Nashville day to beat the heat.
scott meyer
Fun and informational; could use more technical tid-bits, maybe procure old boards and show a short tutorial on how things were recorded back in the day!
Donna Lapidus
I was in Nashville for the week. I went to several museums and Nashville tourist spots. My favorite spot was the Musicians Hall of Fame museum. I spent over two hours looking at the exhibits. Staff were super friendly and helpful! If you have one place to visit while in Nashville, make it this!!!!
David S. Channin MD
Very nice museum dedicated to the lesser known, yet equally important, back up and studio artists. Great interactive exhibits in which to get your groove on.
Michael Homewood
A lot of history there. Worth the drive for sure. Short movie first then free to look at your leisure.
John Gonzalez
So much history here. So many artists I never heard of. You have the past and present all in one place. This museum was worth it!
Reno Harp
If you like music you should take a few hours and enjoy this place.
Cori Frede
The Grammy exhibit was awesome but I was a little upset that the Rolling Stone's exhibit was such an expensive add on. I
Chris Bryant (Chris)
This place is huge! I'm not the most well versed in musicians or their history, but I found the place enjoyable. They had all types of folk, rock, western, blues, and any local bits. History of different bands, producers, or stars were here.
They had pieces of technology on display which were really interesting to see. Kids can probably find it enjoyable, but ages 7 and up, not toddlers. There's an area in the back where you can play different instruments (limited options), record your voice, have a jam session on the turntables/mixers, and listen to every song that an artist won a grammy for since inception.
It was overwhelming for a non-music history connoisseur.
They have a great rate on groupon and well. Facilities are well maintained. Parking is a distance away, but not much they can do to help that.
It is enjoyable and can easily take 4 hours
Rashawnda Williams
We had a magnificent time! The interactive portion with the instruments and in the studio were the best! Hand Sanitizer and wipes were readily available to clean between users.
Ciarra Horne
While visiting Nashville, my boyfriend and I stopped here and the Country Music Hall of Fame. If you wanna skip the crowds and have twice as much fun, skip the CMHF and go to this one instead! We spent almost 3 hours going through looking at all the cool memorabilia and using the interactive exhibits! And the staff is very friendly and helpful!
Madison Flatman
Vic was super friendly & welcomed us right away! Lots of cool things such as the Jimi Hendrix experience and the interactive music studio!i
Emma Paduraru
So cool to see. We ended up staying longer than planned. Loved the interactive part. You can tinker with different instruments. 11 yr old niece also had a great time.
Robert Twete
This is more than just a hall of fame for musicians. It acknowledges producers, engineers, and session players. It covers all genres of pop music: country, rock, the Blues, and gospel. The are many interview videos with really interesting content. It has exhibits highlighting the major recording areas around the US: Nashville, LA, Detroit (Mototown), Memphis, etc. We spent 2 hours at the hall and could have easily spent 3 more. Highly recommended.
Sabrina Waters
Wow! I went in expecting something kinda boring- it was the complete opposite!! Every display was set up in a way that involves the viewer. Love the interaction and hands on experience of this museum! So much fun and doesn’t take long unless you want to spend more time in the recording areas. My only suggestion is to bring hand sanitizer or wipes if your the least bit “germaphobeic”. I was a little surprised they didn’t supply them in some areas.
Collin Myers
As is the case with many museums, any country music fans in your party will likely find this fascinating, while others will likely become bored within minutes. They do have some fun hands-on exhibits, and their special exhibits were fascinating as well.
David Hardy
The theme is more about supporting musicians than the big stars, but they were a big part of making them stars so it was nice to learn some stuff about them. Lots of memorabilia and every piece has a description card. Fun to see the instruments that helped create the songs we know and love. Like the piano played by Elton to record "Don't let the sun go down on me." And the drum kit for Santana from Woodstock. Plan 2-3 hours at least.
Rachel South
I thoroughly enjoyed this museum! I loved learning about the session musicians that I had never heard of before but they play on all of my favorite records. Very educational! Can't wait for their Grammy Gallery to open.
Julie Bembiri
Everyone who loves music has to visit here! My husband loved it as much as I did
Andrea R.
Must see if you have music lovers in the family! Plenty of fun and interesting exhibits some are interactive! We spent almost 3 hrs here! Jimmy Hendrix exhibit was surprisingly awesome!!
R G
A collection that is professionally organized and displayed. One of my favorite Nashville area museums. A casual music fan can probably tour it in an hour and a half, but take your time and give yourself at least 2.5 to 3 hours. There's more to TN history than the Civil War, historic mansions, and infamous politicians.
Peggy Mills
If You Love popular music and history then this is a must go to place. This museum is about the history of music and about the musicians that made music into what it is today. At the end of the exhibit there are a lot of interactive activities to do. You can get coupon codes etc to of set the cost. This was an unforgettable experiece.
Purboday Ghosh
A must watch if you are in the music city! If you're a student be sure to carry an ID to get a discount. They have interesting memorabilia and a whole recording studio where you can try out some signature tunes! Overall super enjoyable!
Tricia Wade
Perfect experience for someone like me that's not hard core country since there's nice variety of music. Just the right size to get thru in a few hours to half day for most. Visual, tactile, auditory, interactive, creative and more to keep almost anyone happy.
Michael Maxwell
What a surprise this place is. I had 72 high school students and staff with me and they had a ball. So much so that they had to throw us out because we were passed their closing time. So many interactive exhibits and cool information. The mobile truck recording studio was crazy....and so was the Jimi Hendrix gallery. I cannot recommend this place enough. You will not regret your visit there. Ps..one of the staff members was recently a contestant on American Idol.
Julio Molina
Lost of history of music. Fine interactive displays. Overall good time.
Joe Cacciapaglia
Excellent Museum dedicated to the working musicians that aren't always honored. These are the guys who work in the bands that the Stars play for. Lots of good information lots of memorabilia nice displays, several movie venues, a stage area and it is available to rent for private parties.
Patrick Stevens
My son and I visited this museum on impulse and ended up spending nearly 5 hours there. Incredible collection of the real instruments used in famous concerts and studio recordings. Recognition for those behind the scene as well. The interactive part of the museum gives visitors a chance to play different instruments, song write and do studio recording. As we were leaving we met the events coordinator, the curator and the man who had the vision to create this Hall of Fame; and we even got a personalized look at a recently acquired drum set from the stage at Woodstock. I highly recommend this museum for anyone and all music genres.
Katie Holloway
Awesome, especially the Grammy museum.
Jannette Ziotas
A must see. So many features exhibits and very fascinating. Loved it.
Irsan S
Came on snow storm so closed.
Will comeback again soon.
Greg Sund
Really enjoyed the museum. It was nice to have watch several episodes in the Ken Burns Country Music series first. I was surprised how many rock bands recorded in Nashville.
Robert Walker
Whole different perspective on Nashville. See the real instruments of the studio musicians that made all the old hits.
f portelli
There’s a lot of cool things to see here. They really highlight the band members that accompanied famous singers. For instance, who were the members in Elvis’ band? They were talented musicians, for the most part forgotten. And the newer part in the Grammy section is interactive. Interesting and cool.
Kathryn ONeil
Great place to see musician collections and loved the Cash, Hendrix and Grammy sections
Kboo
What a serious learning experience! I learned so much history about so many musical artists and my bf got to geek out about guitars. We had a blast
Lawrence Washington
This is an amazing place to learn about the history of music.
This highlights the roots of music around the country. It taks the song process apart to show how music is produced and distributed from music hubs around the country.
You'll hear music from some known and other not so know artist that have impacted the industry over the years.
Certainly time well spent.
Nikoli Ellis
Very in depth music museum! Lots to intake here so plan plenty of time. There are a few different interactive features in the museum that can be very fun. Definitely something to do with a group or just 2!
Gary Eckrote
Amazing collection! Had fun counting the actual albums we had purchased ( we're in our late 60's) and still HAVE!
Nick Tubbs
The normal exhibit is really kind of disappointing. There is not much to see. The grammy exhibit is mostly karaoke recording rooms with a few artifacts sprinkled throughout. The Rolling stones exhibit at the time of my visit was much more well done than the regular museum but the combined price of $55 was not worth it.
Tiffany Gilmour
Great place that has a lot of musical history. Lots of older instruments from the 60s to the present. Interactive exhibitions as well. Price is about $25 a ticket which is a bit high but still a good time!
Karley Power
The Jimi Hendrix exhibit was outta sight
Wayne Walters
Great the only problem was parking around there
Ashwini Venkatesh
You can see music everywhere in Nashville. Entire place is filled with guitars. Musicians hall of fame is just amazing. Had fun in those test set up, where you can go sing and try all the instruments. Visit was worth
Ashley Enwright
Great music history. This self guided tour allows you to step in to Motown and the hit the Jimi Hendrix. Great photos of music icons like Johnny Cash and Elvis. The museum allows you to see the various pioneers those who were well-known and also the ones who were lessor known. my favorite part of the museum was the interactive part I was able to go on stage and sing Ray Charles Hit the road. me and my best friend were able to hit the sound move up and record a song and make some beats on the piano and the beatbox.
William Dickerson
Really good, some of the interactive exhibits need some maintenance.
Amy Beckberger
Can't wait to go back here. I saw so much but not everything. This place contains so much rich music history from the great legends of the past! Beautiful building. You get what you pay for, and this was definitely worth it.
Zachajewia1110
Jimi Hendrix exhibit was awesome. My girlfriend and I spent atleast an hour with the interactive instruments. A must visit if you are in Nashville.
Shelly Ahn
Wonderful museum filled with the history of classic hits from all genres of music. Great interactive area of museum!
Eric Steele
Such a cool museum! It's a hidden gem in Nashville! Like country, they cover it. Rock-yep! Even Motown gets talked about in the museum! The Grammy HOF is interactive and a blast too! Plus, the staff is super cool!
Dunkin Lover
A very good experience٫it was fun. It was cool to see all the displays! I even bought myself a shirt from the store! :)
R. Moore
Awesome, Awesome, Awesome! Not to be missed! If you're the least bit interested in rock and roll and how the biz works, or at least, did. This is a must see. Was my favorite part of visiting Nashvegas..err, Nashville.
citysearchcams
Jimi Hendrix exhibit! Thats all I needed to know! Jimi is quoted as saying that he really learned how to play next level while living Nashville. Set of drums from Woodstock! Its definitely worth spending an hour or 2.
Melanie Mead
Very cool museum and interactive areas! Was a great experience.
BlessedMom OfBoys
I quite enjoyed this museum, maybe a bit overpriced, but I appreciated everything I learned in it. Some great pieces, great info and things I didn’t know before. My family didn’t appreciate it like I did, but they’re not quite musically inclined. A great addition would be a tour of the auditorium upstairs. Hint hint...
Jerry Makison
Great place for families! I liked the interactive instruments. Thank God for 🎧! …
Tynickce Herrod
No close parking, parking garage about 2 blocks away
Huyền Phạm
This place could be so much better. The entrance is very outdated and kind of sad looking. It definitely has interesting artifacts but needs to be revamped. If you have to choose one museum go to the Country Music hall of Fame.
Anthony Korey (AarghTony)
Amazing. I had chills the whole time walking through, looking at such greatness. Awesome staff helped make the experience.
John Morrison
If you go to Nashville, you need to visit here. Really great Museum, shops, restaurants. You don't even have to like country music to have a good time here - but you will leave with a whole new appreciation for it.
William Karst
So much history. Had a great time walking around and reading about the all time greats!
It was a lot of fun playing some of the instruments as well. Would definitely check it out if you are a music lover!
Jene M
Tons of music history here. If you listen to music or have any kind of fascination as to how music has evolved and changed over the past 100 year, defintely stop by and take a look.
Their interactive exhibits are currently closed due to COVID.
Fer Franco
Excellent museum, for the music
Zack Henry
I particularly enjoyed the area where you can test all the music, though it would be great if there was a tuner on hand for the guitars in the studio room!
Matt Cooley
Smaller than I'd expected due to the huge size of the building. The museums all seem to be very small for the nearly $60 price tag for 2
Michael Traver
If you're a music fan, a great way to spend four or more hours. You can go through in less time, but then you might miss something cool.
Norma Strange
More than you realize to do here. Loved seeing the history come to life and we all enjoyed trying our hand at all of the hands on equipment and instruments. This place brings out the music lover in all of us 🎶 We will be back! …
Larry Hudson
I was surprised how much we enjoyed it. Some other places in town were closed due to the 'Rona. Lucky for this place, we loved it. We had about 90 mins there and could've easily enjoyed another hour.
Lauren J
My husband and I had a great afternoon at the Hall of Fame! (Pro tip: use the Groupon to save a ton of money on your tickets, it makes the experience MUCH more enjoyable!) We loved the interactive instrument exhibits and the Grammys exhibits were simply amazing. I got to rap with Jermaine Dupri, play guitar with rock legends, and sing my heart out in a new band my husband and I formed! The only issue was that some exhibits were not working properly (broken headphones, etc) so that was a bit disappointing. Overall, it was an excellent outing with lots of fun exhibits, information, and activities for people of all ages!
Alex Hawker
Incredible experience of the musicians behind the most famous music of all time. Very in depth and interesting. Getting to see the actual guitar played by Jimi Hendrix is a highlight. Don't miss if you are in Nashville.
Lorna B
Unless you know to stop in you just might make the mistake and pass this by and that truly would be a BIG mistake. This is more than a museum, its an interactive walk through music history!! Well laid out its easy to see why you might find that time got away from you. From Steve Cropper, Elvis, and Roy Orbison to name just a few...you will see Grammy's and get the chance to record song, play a few instrument and see how music is/was really made. The folks that work here are super friendly and happy to help you walk thru history... Put this on your itinerary when you visit! You will be glad you did! Then, go get some BBQ and cheer on the Preds!!!
G I M
This is a nice place to visit. Lots of instruments to try. You can even sing with the best!
Christian
Great museum. It's organized in a way that move you from room to room but at the same time won't get you lost. It truly is a museum dedicated to musicians in general and not just country (not that there's anything wrong with that). There were sections for Johnny Cash, Jimi Hendrix, and an interactive Grammys section. I really liked the Grammys section. They let you play instruments.
Amanda Rathmell
Very interesting place to visit, and I'm glad we went. Really makes you think about how many people it takes to make a song and I learned a lot.
Riccardo Romano
Please find 2/3 hour and go to vist this masterpiece
Justin W.
A neat experience with a lot of hands on stuff in the Grammy area. I wish they would allow you to record and save what you did there like the country hall of fame.
Rober El
Excellent place for lovers of music of all kinds. There are some real pieces of history in here. I loved the interactive hall. If possible, visit it in the week days so you may enjoy it plenty,
Deron Smithwick
We had a great time here at the Musicians Hall of Fame. This place covers all forms of Music not just country. They have a interactive area where you can play instruments and sing with Ray Charles. You can also DJ and listen to classics songs on head phones. Only one issue is I wish I could have purchased some of the music that I heard inside of the Musicians Hall of Fame. I was able to use my AARP card for a discount
Brenda Planas
Great, fun, entertaining and most important educational.
Robert Doehling
Our Venture scouts had a great time touring the museum, but even more fun interacting and becoming musicians as they can do with the interactive displays. What a blast!!!
Pamela Carlisle
They did a great job setting up the timelines and displays of the musicians and their instruments that performed the music we all have loved, as well as the song writers. A great look into what makes a song so great! Thank you!
Dominic Gassman
Lots of really cool things to see here, even if the starpower may be lacking. Definitely something for a more mature or musically tuned audience though. Go to the Country Music Hall of Fame if you are a more casual observer.
Samantha McClary
My fiancee and myself got to meet the ower and founder! He was saything thank you to all the patrons leaving the museum and he told us a great story.
The museum itself has lots of great history! There are interactive things for younger and older people alike. There is lots to learn about the music industry you may not have known before. Also, there are istruments from ledgends in the bussiness.
Jacmac
This is a place for actual musicians to appreciate fellow musicians. For the layman there is a little history and lots of pictures, worn out instruments, and videos. You do get a sense for how much work and talent goes into making successful comercial music.
Amy Wulff
Excellent exhibits and information.
Sophia Guidry
Great place for kids and adults! Well worth your time and money! Our kids are 7,6,6 & they loved playing the instruments and singing! Plus a great museum for adults! 5 stars
Anne Lunde
$25 per ticket for us and we had a great time! Awesome exhibits, great memorabilia, and we even met the CEO/Founder when we were there!
Van Johnson
Also has stop for shuttle, stop for multiple tour buses in front, a plus. Megabus stop across street. City bus 🚌 1block away; easy access for any mode of desired transports. Good add2 your Nashville area visit itinerary. …
Mary Anne HobbsFernie
I like it was all musicians not just country.
lance Miley
Highly recommend the tour, was really impressed with the many artists, history and equipment displayed so cool. Was like being transported into a time capsule in the history of Rock n Roll.....
😎👍 …
Vicki Wilson
Really took me back to my younger days! Enjoyed the mixed genres of music. Left singing all those songs for hours. Needs a little more interactive displays.
Elaine Scarane
Met the Founder and CEO. He has excellent exhibits of memorabilia starting from the moment you enter the museum. Great place and will definitely return when new section opens.
Shawna Berges
Very cool, original and different. Gives you more of an appreciation of musicians. Also glad we went here over the Johnny Cash one near Broadway!
Steph Bergy
If you are a music lover, then this is the place for you! The Musicians Hall of Fame spotlights session musicians from some of the most iconic recording studios in American Music History. Definitely worth checking out.
Kara Garner
There really wasn’t any clear pathway through the museum, just large rooms that you walk aimlessly through. They also lacked some very important artists. (Lynyrd Skynyrd for example)
Torey Malone
This was on the list of must see on my visit. Well worth the $25 admission for adults great learning experience even for the most musically challenged person. Put it on your list
Jennifer Brown
Good quick visit.
Tauheedah Diggs
It was a good time. I suggested it as a stop on a girls trip. They were not super excited about it at first. But they had a great time and were glad that we went
Nicole Faux
I liked it, self guided tour, gunna cost 25 per adult. The gift shop was small and pricey
Michelle L
This is an amazing and incredible and awesome place. The displays are wonderful. By chance, I was able to talk with the curator for a while. With him as the curator, the museum museum is in good hands.
Humphrey Christopher
We had a great time. They let us take our time walking around and playing with different exhibits. Great time learning about the people behind the music
Chiquita Nelson
Awyte peiess very friendly
KEITH ZORN
Great exhibits, actually artifacts of musicians, the history of recoded music/ musicians.
William M Moore
This another of the "must see" places in Nashville! There is lots of great information about headliner muscians, but there is also loss of information about the studio muscians that are an integral part of the music world. Most of the experience is self guided. This allows you (allowed me!) plenty of time to appreciate each of the exhibits. There is even an area where you can put on headsets and play, or try to play, instruments. You can also try singing and our even get drum lessons from Ringo Starr (via video)!
I don't think anyone should miss this!
Alisa Longo
This place is awesome! A must for anyone that appreciates music. Many hands on exhibits to enjoy and tons to learn. Worth every penny!
Connie Breunig
The best!!! Jay McDowell was our curator. He had personal experience with many of the exhibits at the museum. I would highly recommend the museum. We will go back again
Jack Wesselo
Great collection of instruments, and I like the fact that they cover the entire spectrum of music creation including producers, writers, and engineers across all genres. Very much worth the visit!
Christian Fierro
Very cool and inclusive museum. To bad the interactive portions are closed. I guess I'll just have to come back next year
Ron Deatherage
Well worth the time and admission fee. Will recommend anyone visiting Nashville to visit this hall of fame.
Alex Castillo
I loved the appreciation of music, I just didnt know many of the names. The interactive portion was a blast, where you can really get a taste of what it takes to make music.
Dean Stenjem
This place is incredible. We enjoyed this much more than the country music hall of fame. There is an incredible amount of history here of all genres of music.
Ray MacDonald
We had a great tour due to the knowledgeable and funloving guides. Joe Chambers was a wealth of knowledge and offered some great advice on how to further enjoy Nashville.
Christian Conant
A great experience for music lovers of any generation! A huge display of the instruments used on the records I've always loved. Cool to see the history behind the music!!
yourcargirl Linda

Skylar Hinderliter Davis
Loved all the music history and items! Also the workers were friendly and would help with any questions. Loved the Jimi Hendrix section and the Motown section
Emily
Not as we imagined very few present day popular musicians
Enjoyed the area where you could try the instruments the best
Chuck “TryAltF4” Springer
This may not seem like it when you get there but it is a fun, hands on, interactive museum that will leave everyone learning something, enjoying themselves and ready to listen to music a bit differently!
Amy Squier
I had a fun time but I really expected more from this museum. Most of it was just instruments from certain musicians. The interactive stuff was cool, but the rest was just alright.
Robin Hood
Went during Covid and sadly missed out on some parts of the tour and the interactive sections. Greatly enjoyed seeing the art and history the town has though.
Omari Bayi

One of the best museums I have been to; I learned how to play drums with Ringo Star!!! Thank you so much for this place, it's worth every penny.

Nice museum if you are very interested in music. Not very interactive. It has many disjointed pieces but lacks one story of the history of modern musicians.
Eric Nygren
Loved our visit! Very hands on. Lots of cool stuff to look at. Great for kids too. Admission was a little pricey.
Anne-Marie Nelson
Interesting place, especially if you want to learn about the sessions bands and backup artists supporting a lot of famous Nashville musicians. The layout of the place is a little confusing.

jennifer flannery
It was a really educational experience. The interactive instruments were the best part! We would love to go back someday!
Michael Rock
A music lovers dream museum. This is NOT the artisits hall of fame. Rather it pays appropriate respect to the house bands, producers, writers and other mostly behind the scenes folks, machines, processes and locations that enbaled those superstars to shine brightly.
Kate Post
Loved this museum! There's a very fun interactive area where people can play different instruments, which would be great for kids and adults alike!

First-class. The exhibits are fun, fascinating and well done. Don’t miss the rooms where you can play some of the instruments.

Always fun, always new stuff!
Maddie Buckley
Expensive. A lot of information to read. Loved the big room where Grammy performances were playing on a loop.

This place is GIGANTIC. I will definitely have to come back next time I'm in town. 2 hours wasn't enough for me... I like to read everything and I don't read that fast.
Terrance Stieff Sr
