Reviews of Frazier History Museum
Dawn Houghton
Lovely wedding venue. Rooftop views of the river and the city. Weather was perfect mid-October. Guests were able to see much of museum's interesting exhibits. Catered buffet, open bar, music and dancing. Parking behind building is a bit of a walk. Inside there are elevators.
Danielle Freeney
I've been wanting to visit for years now as a local, but today was the first time we made a visit happen. It was a great experience! Very few people on a rainy Monday afternoon which added to the experience. As a lifelong Kentuckian I thought I had heard most of the stories about "who's who", inventions, events, etc...Boy was I wrong! I learned several surprising facts, and felt it was an afternoon well spent. There was a good mix of interactivity along with the reading and visual elements. My two teenagers aged 17 and 13 were engaged. Note: My 17 year old is got a free membership as a Kentucky college student, so she can visit as much as she'd like. Nice perk for KY and IN college students! In 3 hours we still hadn't seen it all, which was nice. It leaves us something to look forward to on out next visit.

Wonderful place. Exhibits provide content on ways in which bourbon was made. The bourbon collection room is amazing!!! It has all brands of bourbon that is currently sold on the market. Next to it, there is a room depicting a bar. It’s also beautiful. The museum also gives the history of Kentucky, and even touch base on the part on native Americans.
Brandon Eddy
This is a museum about the history of Kentucky and it does a great job of doing that. It has a great exhibit on the making of bourbon and the history of bourbon. I bought some bourbon in the gift shop because it just felt like the right thing to do. Really attractive museum.

This was my favorite part of our day trip to Louisville. We only looked at the third floor (the bourbon part) and I think that's not a bad idea if that's all you're interested in and you have other things you're doing that day. The third-floor bourbon exhibit was so well put together, and I do not say that lightly; I truly wasn't impressed with a different museum we saw that day, but the Frazier Museum was *mwah.* It complemented very well the "Kentucky Bourbon Country" field guide, which is where I first heard of it. Content was well written, well presented, and well curated. There were some real gems in the bourbon culture/history interactive panels about Prohibition, like media from the time advocating temperance and a woman who was known for organizing attacks on sellers of elicit alcohol, lol, which I will post here.
kali
Best museum in town. Has a few floors you start at top floor. Has an elevator. No parking lot. Parking is our front by meter free on weekends. Can find tickets on Groupon.
Sarah Hartman
Kentucky proud. An eclectic museum dedicated to Kentuckians. The three story museum offered a glimpse into many different parts of the commonwealths past and present. You get your moneys worth, there is much to see.
Miss B
We go here often... It's a family favorite. Lots to see and do. Their gift shop is one of the best! It offers lots of fun, local & unique things.
Sandy Vitek
More to this museum than we originally thought. It has three floors with history of bourbon, Lewis and Clark and Teddy Roosevelt, including his rifle 'the big stick'. They also have Custer's pistol used at Little bighorn. And other exhibits as well.
Brad Hardman
Wonderful museum, all about Kentucky's history. Presented in a very professional way, the information and displays flowed very well. Really enjoyed the bourbon display on the top floor.
Melanie Rudolph
I love the Frazier history museum. Lots of history on display. Nice gift shop. Awesome permanent & special exhibits. Really cool patio outside museum with beautiful greenery. Recommend ❤️
Tiffany B
Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices had a private event here last night and the entire experience was great. The museum had interesting pieces and utilized technology to make the experience interactive. The setup was nice because it allowed for pockets of spaces where music and food were set up. I loved the displays throughout.
Eirika Wiete
The Frazier Museum was very cool and much more family oriented than I expected. There are three floors to explore with lots of history of bourbon and Louisville, in general.
Also, the gift shop had a large collection of bourbon themed items since it is the starting location for the bourbon trail.
Megan Paz
We've been here a few times and it's definitely worth a visit. We love that they host different events like the Bourbon Tasting and 1920's Speakeasy event!
Mitch Haskett
Fab place to see cross section of the fantastic history of Louisville and Kentucky! The Lewis & Clark Expedition exhibit was very well done and informative. Plus I now aspire to have a bourbon cellar to match their exhibit.
Angelique X Stacy
One of my all time fave museums, thoughtful, well rounded total look at history from our First President's rifle to Breanna Taylor, highlighting our Black Communities struggle. All of Kentucky is right here.
First time here 10 years ago they had an Eggun and Orisha exhibit on the Slave Trade that moved me to tears ,I was so happy to see it.
Pía Ponce
Amazing museum, so much history and colors I loved every moment of being there! I will recommend it in Chile so they can come and see it 🤩 …
Chaya Hirsch
Something for everyone, from kids to adults. Very good option for indoors with a wide age range. Kids under 4 are free and found a great Groupon for the adults.
Kelly Schroeder
I just wanted to leave a review to commend the staff and the museum on a wonderful experience. We were going to go to the speed art museum today, but I didn't like the tone of their website, their poor Google reviews, and excessive restrictions. We decided to come to the Frazier today instead, and wow! We had an amazing time! We used a Groupon which was a great deal. All the staff members were so easygoing and friendly, the museum and restrooms were impeccably clean, there were lots of benches and chairs to take breaks and relax, and the exhibits were engaging. The Louis and Clark exhibit was so fun and immersive. The bourbon exhibit was cool. Our 4 year old loved the whole museum, and we did too! I loved seeing all the updates since I've last been. Thank you for a wonderful time at the museum. The employees were happy and friendly, and we felt so at ease. With the negative way some other museums are being run, our experience at Frazier was like a breath of fresh air. You all are doing something right at the Frazier- keep it up! We bought another Groupon already, and will be back soon!
Curt Menn
Pretty, downtown location with well laid out floors. We enjoyed the Bourbon history room and surprised ourselves with our 'Bourbon Number'. At the time, we both scored a 97. We went on to complete the Kentucky Bourbon Trail and added some more titles to our repetoire that no doubt brought our 'Bourbon Number' up a few more points. Do enjoy the history and stories being shared! The Lewis and Clark story and Louisville history and much more really add another layer to your experience of visiting such a lovely city!
Jennifer O
If you love history, Frazier does a fabulous job to make their exhibits fun and informative. I believe this is one of the places that could come alive at night just like in the movie! They did a beautiful job hosting the Barrels of Heart unveiling. The low lighting in some of the areas were challenging but not a big issue.
Angela Julian
Fun museum to learn the history about bourbon. Takes about an hour to go through. There is a cool little gift shop at the end.
Melissa Houghton
We had our wedding here. Guest count was approximately 45. Frazier was super accommodating with figuring out the best space for the amount of guests that we have. They can pretty much do it all from small to large guest count. We had the coordinator on hand during the day of the wedding to ensure everything went smoothly which helped as well. Definitely recommend!
C M
Great museum! Beautiful, clean, and something for everyone. Plus, it does KY proud!
Pure Prairie Organics
During a break from a local trade show we were able to learn a lot about the local history. The museum was super clean, many bathrooms when needed and the stuff there was appealing to young kids and older visitors. We were able to leave, have lunch and return to finish learning.
Menachem W
Very interesting and fun for the whole family! The exhibits have such a broad range that there is something for everyone here. The amount of hands on activities will keep the kids entertained too.
Michael Noerr
This place is billed as a historical arms museum, and they definitely have a large selection of antique arms and ammunition. Interestingly, they also have a really large collection of miniature figurines and soldiers as well; and I mean a LARGE collection. Definitely a neat little stop.
Emily Smith
Cocktail class was delicious and not too rushed, though it is only a 30 minute experience. Glad that museum admission was included in the price since it gave us the chance to wander around and check out the rest of the interactive museum exhibits, which were very cool

Loved the staff. Well organized and a beautiful rooftop view for weddings.
Tom Stevens
Place is huge. Lots and lots of history. Miniature exhibit was really awesome. Also enjoyed the Lewis and Clark exhibit. Be prepared to spend at least a couple of hours here if you really want to see and explore everything. Staff was very friendly and all the exhibits were very well done.
Corey Amend
Really cool museum covering local history and art. The highlight for me was the Lewis and Clark exhibit, lots of interesting details (did you know Sacagawea was 16 and pregnant before she joined the expedition?), plus fun interactive portions.
shaun cott
Excellent museum focusing on Kentucky’s history, and on bourbon. Loved the opportunity to have a bourbon flight and enjoyed being taught about the liquor and how to properly experience it. Thankful the museum didn’t gloss over Kentucky’s dark side and found it did a good job explaining the injustices done to the enslaved and to Native Americans. We didn’t have enough time to go to the film. Next time we’re in town!
Tom Boman
Christmas party venue was perfect. Everyone was super nice and helpful.
Chris D (Urban Graphics)
Beautiful museum and perfect place for events. We went to a wedding party here and it was really nice. 4 floors to accommodate your event with a bar, seating, and ample space for a stage and dining rooms.
T. J. Hart
Really an interesting place. Learned a lot more than I expected about Louisville and Kentucky. It is also the start of the bourbon trail. They offer short guided tours that last about 15 mins that are totally worth it.
DElightful Photography
A must see! This place was huge, very informative, a lot of unique artifacts and very spacious! And a lot of current Kentucky Bourbon from A-Z!
This was highly recommended by the Brough Brothers distillery.
Bryan Daly
We joined a tour and the guide was fantastic, telling the detailed history of certain items. Very interesting. And the Bourbon educational info was great
Mike X
Lots of small exhibits in this museum but nothing really in-depth except for the louis and clark expedition. Lots of daily events so check with them ahead of time on when the free tours are. The louis and clark experience and the bourbon exhibit were definitely the best curated. The women's suffrage movement was also good. Everything else seems a bit random like the miniatures collection and that set of samurai armor.
Abigail Westerfeld
We enjoyed our tour. Lots of good history. Very fun, kid friendly, stroller friendly, spacious. There were lots of enjoyable exhibits and lots to read. Parking is a little sketchy and hard to find, though.
Scott
This museum was a lot better than I was expecting. Although its quite expensive at $14 admission for an adult, I thought it was worth it. Start on the 3rd floor in the Bourbon exhibit and official starting point of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, this was also my favorite part. Work your way downstairs and try to see the KentuckyShow! if you have time. Loved this informative video. Also a great place to take children!
Mehrdad Yousefi
One of the most beautiful museums in the Louisville, KY area. Also, there is gift shop inside the museum that you can find lots of adorable stuff with unbelievable price and of course look for the best Bourbon whiskey there!
Greg Stierle
I went with my seven and nine-year-olds and really enjoyed the section on Louis and Clark. There were some interesting guns and military toys. I thought the emphasis on bourbon was really weird. Roughly half the square footage of the museum was devoted to it and most of the gift shop. I can see a small blurb or even section but this seemed excessive
Xavier Orozco
Great museum, lots of history on bourbon. Well laid out. Great displays, cool gift shop, affordable to visit. Friendly service.
Jason Johnson
Great place to learn about the history of the State of Kentucky. I love the atrium/ garden area outside. I would not recommend for little children it’s not geared to hold their interest. Gift shop is cool and the photo opportunities are endless. It’s a beautiful building.
Joshua Taj Bozeman
Really nice museum. They tell you to start from the third floor and make your way down. Third floor has a big Lewis and Clark exhibit with lots of history, some sound effects like your in the woods and a big waterfall video projected onto the wall to show where they ended their trip at the Pacific ocean. It's good for adults and children. Several hands on sections for kids to enjoy. Informative and very nicely put together. Peaceful. Had some Lewis and Clark artifacts but mostly replica stuff and historical markers along with stuffed animals they would have seen on their journey. A big keel boat replica as well.
Also on the third floor is a history of prohibition complete with a speak easy area, a bar setup, a booth where you can sit next to Al Capone while watching video segments on related history. Pretty cool area.
Second floor has the toy soldier collection along with the first floor area. Pretty large collection donated to the museum. Interesting items here. Most of the second floor was under construction when I went. Guess it will be a bourbon historical exhibit that they hope to open in 2018.
First floor has a small number of items as well including a stuffed bison. They have live historical presentations throughout the day but I missed the three they had the day I was there. Parking is close by and $6 for the entire day. Easy to walk really close from that lot which is manned by an attendant and is located under the overpass.
Very nice museum. Somewhat small in size but it's will put together and taken care of. Spent about 90 mins here I guess.
Dylan Soo
A history museum of Louisville and Kentucky. Really large historical tour of bourbon. They have cool displays of the Kentucky Derby specially labeled Woodford Reserve bottles. Bottle hall has every bourbon currently in production and is a great photo op. The gift shop has some special bourbons and vintage bourbons.
Hector Perez
A little bit of everything here, including Geronimo's bow. Not quite a history museum but can almost pass as one and will be the closest to a history museusm you'll find in the city. This Frazier guy sure amassed quite the collection of items. From historical, to just odd. Either way, the guy was a philanthropist and seeing that most of these items came from his own collection, you'll be hard pressed to find some of these items elsewhere. The lewis and Clark exhibit was great. Worth the bucks and time.
Rhonda Kaninberg
Super cool history museum! 😍 They have a made in KY exhibit with lots of bourbon artifacts. It is the 1st stop on the bourbon trail. They also have a very interesting tribute to local musicians. Paul Hornung's heisman 🏆 trophy is on display too. …
Jared Stanley
As an out-of-town guest I was surprised there wasn't more about whomever Frazier is. After seeing the name all over town, I presumed that the museum bearing the name would have more about the person. However, the museum was very nice, clean, and the staff was very knowledgeable and professional.
David Berkowitz
A stunning museum full of local and regional flavor. The bourbon bottle display alone is a visual feast (one you could get visually drunk off of), and you get a good sense of the history and culture of a state that has been at the crossroads of so many American movements and eras.
bk hidalgo
Very good experience. Our company hosted a meet and greet even here an the museum was so fun!
Libby Ballengee
Fun way to explore KY history in general. Sometimes it feels like if you’ve been to one distillery, you’ve been to them all. This was a neat place to learn more about Kentucky’s history beyond Bourbon.
Tyler Rose
I went here to look at the Hunger Games exhibit and had a fun time looking at the lore and the behind the scenes stuff. I've gone here before for school trips and every time I go I learn something new, if that matters. Great place to go for history and some of the special exhibits have been really cool. Highly suggest you visit if you have the chance.
Desmond C.
Did some bourbon samples. Learned how to smell the flavors of bourbon. Enjoyed the history of bourbon. Enjoyed the walk around the beautiful building.
Laura Lee
A must-see for anyone interested in learning about bourbon. Don't miss the speakeasy, it is hidden among the bottles. Lots of other cool Kentucky exhibits.
Nicole Fitzpatrick
Wonderful exhibit of history that is for all ages. Also found some Bourbon birthday gifts in the gift shop. A must see in Louisville!
Alice Smith-Goeke
Great variety of exhibits. I really appreciated that the native American stories, specifically mentioning the tribes and including the African American experience in many ways. So many museums seem to forget about the rest of the population. Great job!
Dennis H
If you want to learn about Kentucky this is the right place. Spent 3 hours here and could have easily spent more. Loved it.
Shelley Johnson
We were completely impressed. Three stories of all categories of Kentucky history with intensive displays and a third floor with all things bourbon. Nice gift shop, too. Well worth the time!
Christopher Laughlin
Great museum! Very interesting! Worth the money!
I didn't know anything about the Lewis & Clark expedition, but this museum had a great exhibit about it!
Also, the oldest Civil War monument in the US! (A restored & translated version is in the Cape Hill Cemetery.)
Cyndi Smith
This is one of my 2 favorite museums here in Louisville. The start of the bourbon trail, great exhibits, big gift shop with everything Kentucky, etc. Highly recommend a visit.
May Smith
Beautiful venue for a neighborhood friend's wedding! I didn't expect such a large reception area and the service was perfect. Plus there were gorgeous spots for photo ops ☺️
Johnny Looseround
This is a must stop for anyone who is on a tour of the downtown Louisville area. They have a great walk through museum with local celebrities and athletes. They also have a pretty good selection of bourbons for sale and the gift shop is pretty good too.
Tarek Aly
A piece of history in downtown Louisville. It educated me about the prohibition era and a lot of other historical events in the history of the US. It's amazing what this great country has gone through. No doubt we live in a great nation.
Ruben Garcia
Awesome place to visit with lots of exhibits to see and interact with. Kids loved it. Definitely a hidden gem in Louisville.
Joe Lights
This museum is really nice. There is a lot of Midwest history and also some bourbon history. The exhibits are well maintained but the cohesiveness of this place is missing. There are lots of miniatures and not so much Louisville history. It's more about American history. Still entertaining though.
Leah Markley
I was worried our kids (4 and 6) wouldn't enjoy this museum, but they actually had a blast! They have an area with little figurines they can play with and set up , it was a total hit! Its beautiful inside.
Lenet Mowry
Lots of different things to see. Very interesting. Plaques with full descriptions. Interaction exhibits. We learned a lot &took many pictures.
Corinth .13
A museum full of pieces of Kentucky history and other oddball things! Interesting things to see! Cool stuff to learn! Interactive exhibits to play with! Bring your curiosity...
Jeffrey Li
The museum has three levels, and several exhibits. There is a permanent exhibit on toy soldiers, with a room devoted to that on the first floor, and toy soldier displays also scattered throughout the rest of the museum.
Two other permanent exhibitions are on the third floor and are about Louisville during the era of Prohibition, and the Lewis and Clarke Expedition, which launched from this city. Both of these exhibits are informative and interesting, with the Lewis and Clarke one having a specific points for children.
When we we visited, the second floor had an exhibition on the Nutcracker, with costumes from the ballet being exhibited, along with some set design. The exhibition was a bit sparse for the floor, but not outstanding.
What I was hoping to see much more of would have been a permanent display on the roots of Louisville and how it came to be. The permanent exhibitions seemed very specific to small slices of Louisville's history, and the temporary exhibition had a fairly tenuous connection.
There is a gift shop on premises, and there is a parking lot around the back of the museum that is competitive to the rates of other lots in the area and as convenient to the other sites in the area (the Louisville Slugger Museum, the 21C Hotel and Museum, the Science center, etc.) as the others.
Angela Kelly
This was a beautiful museum, we had an awesome evening. The staff were friendly, clean environment, local history. Highly recommend👍 …
Cedric gray
It was great awesome exhibits! My five year old enjoyed.
Tony Mitchell
They had excellent stuff to look at and enjoy they had a lot a whole lot of historical things and facts about Kentucky, and the City of Louisville, and all the parts in Jefferson County, and a lot of historical things that was interesting to look at and the knowledge of things that you may not have known beforehand. It's not too expensive it's kind of low to medium. They have military discounts. I suggest anybody go see it. For all those who love to collect whiskey bottles or bourbon bottles or All the Above they have a huge display of bourbon and whiskey bottles displayed and they all the time and stuff displayed and how they used to tax it with the little tack strip across the top pretty cool to look at for those who are like that.
Lorrie Eads
Always changing exhibits. White Christmas was my fav. Posted pictures of the Bourbon history exhibition.
Gregory Laurence
I went to check out the Hunger Games exhibit. It was neat but if you love the movies like me then you know most of the info. They offer a military discount, which is greatly appreciated and some of the proceeds go to Jennifer Lawrence's charity, but I still felt it was a little on the high side. You do get access to the rest of the museum which we checked out. If you're a big fan go and support the district's, if you're not then save your money.
David Criss
Beautiful structure, very well maintained, great location. The 'Arms' in this former arms museum are gone and that's too bad as it used to be world class. It now appears to be a Kentucky historical museum with a few artifacts. It's probably politically correct, sorta sterile, not too interesting.
Heidi Kuhn
Interesting Museum. Start on the third floor and work your way down! Nice souvenir selection.
Lucy Jackson
Really enjoyed the Hunger Games Exhibit. The rest of the museum is quite small, the museum store that a wide variety of items and Diet Pepsi which most of Louisville caries Coke products, so that was wonderful after 3 days without DP. Wish HG would've been a little more diverse, I really felt like it was heavy on the clothing and they could've done more creative things with it.
John Sparks
Excellent wedding venue! The staff were really nice and super helpful with anything we needed.
Regenia Betts
I was there for a Wedding event, however, from what I did get to see was so beautiful and informative with history. I will be returning.
brandon blue
Lots of history, but the Colonel Robert Gould Shaw performance was incredible! I loved it, definitely a must see.
Michael Marks
You can spend hours in here, depending on your interests. Three very different floors of exhibits. Top floor is bourbon. There's a huge computer table where you can personalize your search of all things KY distilleries. Second floor is the miniatures. First floor holds a variety of historical KY exhibits plus the gift shop. We'll laid out. Elevators, water, restrooms, and stairs on every floor. Entry discount for military, seniors, and children.
Danni Norton
I haven't been to the museum since I was a child. It was quite an experience to look at the history that was collected throughout the years. It was elegantly put. It's a must see to experience with family. People from all ages would enjoy the experience that would be something to think and talk about for years to come!
Keith Miller
My home to all things of the Real history of Louisville
Agent Willis
I love the activities they have for kids near the holidays. It's grown into a very neat museum.
Nate Nickerson
Wonderful exhibits and a look at some artifacts not normally discuased in American History.
Sean Conner
A cool local museum that had stuff specific to Kentucky. If you want some KY history this is the place.
Nelly Ruiz
Love it!!! I went with my family from Puerto Rico and they love it! If you love history this is a place to visit!
Nathan Miller
Loads of informative exhibits across multiple floors. The bourbon exhibit was well done and a perfect overview for those who want an industry-wide history rather than a distillery-specific tour. The Lewis & Clark exhibit was kind of neat, and the miniatures exhibit was randomly really cool. Some of the stuff on the first floor was somewhat basic and even summarized what was found elsewhere in the museum. Definitely worthwhile if you want a great Louisville history museum.
Keith Miller
Cuz it really tells the Louisville story and culture and Vibe. Must go to.
I'm a member... Be a member... Worth every penny
Emiliya Shulgan
Go here if you’re in downtown Louisville! Big variety of exhibits and Kentucky history
Shane Haynie
Really enjoyed the history of Kentucky. I could do without the miniatures but that's just me.
Christina Martinez
I learned so much about Kentucky. I had no idea how much this state has contributed and continues to offer our country.
Charles Garrison
A great starting point for your KYBT. The swag in the gift shop and the bottle prices are more than reasonable. We too advantage of the Ready, Set, Go tour which was amazing. The history of the state and of the Whisky industry was very helpful. Side note, parking was easy!
Amber C
I volunteered for the Pearl Harbor Memorial Day Event. I had a blast and I loved the experience!! I also love the Museum itself. It's super informative yet extremely interesting! It's a fun place to go!
Rhiannon L
I’m excited the bourbon trail has an official starting point! The Balenciaga exhibit was beautiful
Peter Molczan
The place to start your tour of Louisville with tons of history about the city and it's most prospering businesses.
Jerome Cygan
Very informative on all things bourbon and more. Ask about the speakeasy.
Sara Parker
This place was super cool to explore. If you are a history buff, this is a must go place if you are visiting Louisville.
Lauren Hensley
An unexpected delight! Very enjoyable as a solo traveler. Staff were friendly, and the exhibits were unique, immersive, and both enjoyable and informative
D Grimm
Good level of interesting showcases and historic artifacts. This is the start of the bourbon trail so you can get your map here.
I just wish their store was as bourbon focused as the museum. I was hoping there may be over 20 samplers to buy so we could prioritize the trail. They had about 5 or 6 and selection was lacking.
Ken Nilsestuen
Really interesting, especially bourbon section. Enjoyed video about Kentucky, well worth the time. We recommend!!
Jason Marentette
Lots of great whiskey knowledge and Louis and Clark info.
Hugh Bowen
I attended a bourbon tasting with live bluegrass music with my church music convention. The cost was $50, and it was worth EVERY PENNY!
Bill Schroder
I learned a ton about Lewis and Clark. The Pappy van Winkle collection was also a highlight
James Walker
Great museum with interesting exhibits. Particularly enjoyed the bourbon and toy solider exhibits.
William Wilson
Friendly staff made this typical museum experience special. We enjoyed the bourbon tasting and the genuinely educational presentation of both the history and differences among the styles of production. Lots of other local lore to check out as well. Worth a visit.
Juliet Will-Robinson
Perfect place to start the bourbon trail. Interesting museum with friendly staff and huge gift shop
Janna Bailey
Very well done and the curators seem to have sense of humor.
Schyler West
Official start to the Bourbon Trail with lots of other unique artifacts. Enjoyed all of the activities!
Carlene Baurichter
My husband and I had so much fun in this museum! It's very well organized so the layout makes a great deal of sense. There are a lot of interactive exhibits that make navigating the museum a super fun and educational experience. The exhibits are well done and interesting. I absolutely recommend this museum, especially if you have children who would enjoy the interactive exhibits. Definitely my favorite museum in Louisville.
Aaron McQueen
This used to be one of our favorite museums. We have a family membership and the kids asked to go. But every travelling exhibit takes more space, costs extra, and has less to do with history. The Lewis and Clark exhibit is excellent, I enjoy the Prohibition exhibit is good. But I can't recommend the museum any more.
Bill Martin
Even if you are not a fan of historic toy soldiers, this is a must stop when in L-ville. Seeing the replica of George Washington's still is worth the trip. The collection of bourbon bottles on the second floor is impressive, although I did not spot a bottle of George T. Stagg among them.
Hillary Sullins
This place is amazing! We spent 3 hours until closing time and could have spent more. The Lewis and Clark exhibit is immersive and SO COOL. The whole museum is done very well, so engaging and clean. In the hours we were there we only saw one other couple. Felt very safe regarding COVID.
John Pignetti
Great museum. Excellent history of Bourbon.
John Mitchner
Came here thinking it was a museum entirely dedicated to bourbon. It is definitely not. Has a ton of bourbon merchandise I'm the shop and one floor is about the creation and history of bourbon, but that's all. Was still a cool place!
WJRyan
Fun and interesting place, worth the visit!
Moon N
This place is very well set up and organized. The gift shop had a variety of things and well priced.
debbie farris
A very informative and amazing museum!
Ian Bloom
Super experience. Really well presented. Very enjoyable.
Rob Byers
I had not previously visited the Frazier Museum since even when it was a small arms museum. So, I will say up front that the only reason I did not give 5 stars is because I was really hoping there would be more arms on display. With that being said, the museum is really neat and has some cool interactive exhibits (the interactive table in one of the bourbon exhibit rooms is awesome). There is definitely a lot of history on distillation and the agriculture behind it. If you are visiting Louisville (or even if you live here) I would recommend checking it out.
Douglas Baldwin
Great museum! Lots of interactive stuff for the kids to play with (and adults too). If you like miniatures, there is the largest collection here that I have ever seen. There is a fun Lewis and Clark exhibit as well. You can tell a lot of money went into this place as it shows. Well worth the trip. Restrooms were nice as well. They sell boxers in the gift shop in case you need an extra pair.
Sammy “Dukes” Spore
Beautiful place, highly recommended visit if your in the Louisville area. Lots of history to go with the art collection. The entire Family had a wonderful time.
Dean Meyer
What an educational experience. Brought history alive. We were required to be masked so a very safe experience too. Everyone who is visiting the Louisville Slugger plant/museum across the street should bring the family to the Frazier also.
Katrina Stone
We had a Groupon. I enjoyed it, but my child (9)was kind of bored. There was a lot to see and read but not much he could touch. He wanted to leave to go to the science centre. The Lewis and Clark area was fun, but because of Covid some of the hands on things were removed. We'll have to try again at a later date. He did like the miniature soldiers. I enjoyed the Women's suffrage exhibit the most. The museum was very clean. Three of the staff members I encountered were nice and helpful; however, the lady in the gift shop didn't speak. She didn't greet us when we entered, offer any help or acknowledge us as we left. I didn't buy anything.
JEFFREY M WAGNER
Fantastic Italian food with a great atmosphere (we were there for lunch). Due to an allergy I can't have bell peppers and our server assured me there were none with the chicken parmigiano, but guess what showed up in the side potatoes. Thankfully there was enough separation on the plate I could have the rest of my food and it was delicious. The server made it right by giving us dessert, which was fantastic
Richard Cremmins
I learned a lot about Kentucky and the Civil War. Enjoyed all the miniature soldiers and figurines.
Tia Huebner
Informative and interesting museum in a cool part of town :)
Morgan Langer
Museum was very interesting. The Ready, Set, Go! Bourbon experience was absolutely fun and intriguing. Absolutely "115 proof" worth the money and the drive from IL! Sam was great and made the experience and community welcoming!
Lourdes Cook
Nice eclectic collection of things, including toy soldier sets from many different eras and countries, a fun Lewis & Clark display and all kinds of info on bourbon making. Really enjoyed the temporary exhibit featuring photos of the Great American Road Trip. A fun place to spend a couple of hours. We spent a couple of hours checking out the exhibits at this nice and very clean and lovely museum. There was lots of interesting information and exhibits and everyone was very pleasant and helpful. They do have a bourbon tasting available at a minimal fee - probably a very good deal for those who enjoy bourbon.
Marti Buechlein
The Frazier has really updated. Much more local history than just arms and weaponry from its initial days. It's becoming more interactive. We really enjoyed our time. Local families really need to venture to see this museum.
Ben Stanley
A great little museum to visit when we stayed the night in Louisville. Conveniently located near plenty of Louisville attractions. Not the largest museum in the world, but has enough interactive exhibits and unique displays that it is worth the price of admission.
It also had displays that were great for both me and the wife. She’s a big history fan so most of this appealed to her. I’m from St. Louis so the Lewis and Clark exhibit interested me. She’s big into America folklore to the greatly entertaining tall tale teller was fun for her. I’m a big Hamilton fan so his exhibit was a treat for me. And then of course you have the original artifacts from Teddy Roosevelt and Geronimo. Well worth a visit.
Matt Dudley
The Spirit of Kentucky is definitely the highlight of this place!
Cynthia House
I was only able to view happenings on the first floor for a short time. The Museum was very interesting. There were a lot of people flowing in & out who seemed very satisfied with their visit or tour. There was even a luncheon being held on the first floor. I really liked the Gift Shop with great, historical books, etc., & delectable treats ,& the restroom was nice & clean. Good place to take family & friends.
Chuck Benscoter
This museum is very intimate in its feel and collection. We did their bourbon tasting and learned much about Louisville and distillery history. Must see.
Philip Woods
Wonderful museum with so much for everyone. Great insights into Kentucky and its history. Will be visiting again and again.
Kyle Brothers
This is our city's most wonderful, quirky gem of a museum. Amazing permanent collection of miniature soldiers (historic ones, full parades' worth, Napoleon's funeral procession), fantastic rotating exhibits (an edition of Shakespeare's first folio, an amazing White Christmas movie exhibit, props and costumes from The Hunger Games, violins that survived the Holocaust), and truly the best kid's day camp in Louisville. The Lewis and Clark exhibit is delightful and kids will love it. Amazing bourbon and Kentucky history exhibits.
Bobby Dyer
Very well maintained building with several engaging exhibits showcasing interesting Kentucky history! And as of December 2019, they even had an exhibit featuring original costumes and set pieces from White Christmas! I highly recommend the Frazier Museum if you have guests in town.
Alexander Skellenger
Frazier museum is fantastic. Insightful, interactive, amazing.
Cassandra Schueler
I love going to this museum! The historical actors are really neat and inspiring and you get to ask questions and I got to see some of the swords the actor used. I like the traveling exhibits, I'm glad we still have a museum that does traveling exhibits here. A long time ago I saw the dragon exhibit and it was really cool! The regular museum is awesome too, I like seeing all the artifacts and reading the signs. The gift shop is really fun too, there's a ton of cool stuff in there to buy!
Eden
Great history of the area and all things Kentucky. Presentation was wonderfully displayed on a variety of ways.
Absolutely a Must Do and Great Way to begin the Bourbon Trail or anything you're visiting the area for!!
Corey H
I have been to a lot of museums and this is definitely one of my favorites. It’s not the biggest, but it’s well maintained and it is very detailed. They have 3 floors of exhibits. My favorite was the top floor which is all about Bourbon. Very interesting and they have a impressive bourbon collection dating from the early 20th century to modern bourbons. They also have a really nice gift shop. It has a little bit of everything and a lot of local products.
John Heffley
Very nice day trip. Bourbon exhibit was interesting. Nice casual walk thru. I had been years ago when it was mostly guns and arms and was disappointed to see it was scaled way back but overall the venue had plenty to enjoy. Would highly recommend !
Olivia Raymond
I worked here as an intern, as well as co-hosted an event, and had a wonderful experience both times. Frazier is actively rotating their galleries so every visit feels fresh. Plus, they are taking positive steps to diversify the historical voices present in their displays. If you’re in the Louisville Area and on Museum Row, I’d highly recommend!
Eddie Goodwin
Very wide variety of exhibits, nice and clean. I enjoyed the Kentucky bourbons and the Border State ones. Felt like it could have more for it's popularity though.
Joe Reilly
Where we had our daughter’s rooftop wedding. Also had reception there. Everything there first class. Faculty staff all very helpful in making sure everything was “just right”. Highly recommend for wedding. Museum is great. Also, Frazier Museum is your first stop when experiencing Kentucky’s Bourbon ( or Urban Bourbon) Trail.
Lynn R
Experienced for a private event. Very nice place. Loved the history, especially the Ear Xtacy sign front and center! Nice touch.
Jennifer Resetar
Great showcase of the history of Kentucky!
Rinexx Xavier
Brian West did an amazing job in our "The Unfiltered Truth: Black Americans in Bourbon" experience. He portrayed every character with heart and soul bringing them to life right in front of us. He is a gem of the Frazier Museum and was the capstone of our Louisville experience. He really gives light to the diversity and history of Louisville bourbon and culture.
Timothy Schutz
Even though I am just now reviewing this, it has been about 8 years since I last visited the Museum. I live out of town, and for a short time, my family decided to check out some of the attractions in the area, and by far, this was the best. In fact, we loved it so much, we visited over 4 times in about 2 years time. And every time we found something new, and came out wanting to come back. Yes, there are lots of guns, knives, sword, and more guns. But those items have some cool history behind them, as you find out when you visit. The museum covers much more than just weapons. I would say that if you are in the Louisville area, The Frazier History Museum is a must see!
Sai Teja Tadepu
Haven't got enough time to look around but so far so good
Amanda Rahn-Summerhays
We ALWAYS Love coming here! Wonderful exhibits and fabulous staff make for a memorable experience every time! This was a "free school night" for our elementary. The theme was "Night at the Museum". They had staff dressed as characters, staff conducting hands on interactive displays along with several scavenger hunts. It was great!
Steve Brown
Very nice museum, lots to see there.
Kendra McCrady
I wish more of the displays talked, because it's a lot of reading. Also it would have been nice if it didn't cost almost $30per-person to go in to see The Hunger Games exhibit. My son was looking forward to it but didn't get to do it. We did enjoy The Bourbon Trail exhibit we got to walk through and learn about!
Charles Monroe
Daughter's wedding there. Very nice.
Lauren Welk
A great museum to go to in Louisville when you want to past time! It's a great place for history lovers both big and small. While it's very educational for adults, it's still interactive for little ones too throughout the museum. This museum is perfect for learning more about Kentucky, Lewis and Clark, and bourbon!
Jean-Francois Corneau
This museum needs to be added to your bourbon trail destinations.
Noelle Raque
Love going to 2nd Saturday of the month! It gave us an opportunity to see what exhibits are new at the museum. Plus participate in the themed activities. Loved the Presidential Love Letters read, the toy soldiers and interactive Lewis and Clark Section are all Awesome! My son, whose 8, loved it and we stayed 3 hrs.
Christine Ellingsworth
Was very nice, went for a date with husband. Always pleasant.
Dudley Henderson
I have always enjoyed the Frazier Museum. They change their exhibits a lot so it is worth checking to see if the current ones are of interest to you. Today we saw the exhibit about prohibition and its ties to Louisville and KY. Quite interesting. It will take you 2 to 3 hours to do your visit justice. What makes it even more interesting is the many restaurants in the area. Makes for an nice day out.
Kevin Chan
If you are new/visiting Louisville, this is a must go to introduce yourself to the city. They also have a simple but direct bourbon tasting, a great way to learn how to bourbon.
Johann Arzamendi
I love it. The history behind this place and all exposition in side are amazing I would visit again but with more time because the last time I went I just had 1 hour to visit all place and I think at least I need 3 or more hahaha.
I recommend this place.
Olivia Peters
Really nice they have amazing exhibits perfect for young children
Michael Sutter
A very different museum than the one I visited a few years ago. Exhibits feature a local favor. The Bourbon experience was really interesting. The Hunter S Thompson exhibit was informative and entertaining.
Korey Roberts
Interactive museum that even as an adult was great to explore. Top notch.
Jesse Bartlett
This museum had great articles regarding the history of Louisville. It is very educational and interesting. The staff is nice but could have been a little bit nicer. Overall, this is a beautiful place to visit and learn about the history of Louisville.
T Allen
We went for the Hunger Games exhibition and were not disappointed. It was a very interesting and informative exhibit. Since my son and I are big fans of the books and the movies, it was cool to get background info about the inspiration for the books, how things were designed, location choices, etc. My 15 yr old son enjoyed the interactive portions as well. We also enjoyed the other exhibits. We were there for over 4 hours and moved kind of quickly towards the end, because we were tired and ready to head home. A good plan would be to go to either the permanent exhibits, go get lunch and come back for the Hunger Games, or vice versa. Definitely plan on 4-5 hours to see, read and experience everything this place has to offer. The ticket prices were reasonable (we paid $40 each for the Arc Encounter) and parking was fairly priced and close by.
Ale Minnicks
This museum was interesting. My boyfriend and I love anything like this and we find just about everything interesting. I was expecting maybe a little more....it was such a big building and everything was spread out so far, unreasonably, though. The Mona Bismark display was not interesting to us, though I guess it is to some. Just not a typical history museum I guess, still cool! Gift shop was awesome. They had a little Lewis and Clark skit thing too while we were there, which was cute.
Chris Burtner
Very interesting museum. Exhibits are thoughtful and interesting. The layout on each floor is a little confusing. I wish there had been more of different kinds of music playing in the music history section. I love the sound of the hammered dulcimer and would have liked to hear more Bluegrass.
Randy Bolton
I co-own a mobile DJ company. We work here a few times a year. The load in and load out is among the easiest in the city. The staff is easy to work with too.
J Simmons
This is a great early American museum, through prohibition. Needed more time, to see all the exhibits (should start exhibits in the morning, start working your way down from 3rd floor to the first). Will need to return, starting next month, they will be adding another exhibit for "The Hunger Games". The presentation / reenactment of prohibition era, in Louisville, KY was performed well. The guy (bartender) did a great job telling the story!
Matt Taylor
Stephen is a hall of fame experience leader. Book a tour with him.
Hope Cash
Great value. Discounts after 4 for anyone who comes near closing. Lots of local products in gift shop to support Kentucky merchants. Mostly toy soldiers when we were there. Loved the photos from around the different counties. Strange to see what the photographer chose to represent the different areas of our great state.
Rose Zimmerman Caple
Always love going to thr Frazier Kentucky History Museum because there's always a new exhibit going on. Right now the Cool Kentucky exhibit is amazing! Yhr new favorite are the bourbon tastings and their large gift shop.
Trisha lucas
Visited while attending a convention. Had a dinner socia at the museum. The gift shop has a variety of whiskey, bourbon and a great variety of souvenirs.
MyLoveXxcol Xxcol
It was great, especially the tour guy, mike was very patient.
S RC
As always a top museum experience. Scores a 99% on the Hidden KY project.
Film Show Kentucky! Was pretty good, although lacking in many aspects of the true Kentucky. However the museum is really the best at curation in the state and probably the tried state area.
Prices are also very reasonable.
Storm Mitchell
The museum was clean, well maintained, and an affordable activity while visiting the area. The exhibits were well written and entertaining. I can't wait for their music exhibit to open!
Natalie Moore
Honesty, the best museum I've been to in a long time! They do a great job of fusing artifacts like Daniel Boone's family Bible with technology like large walls of images and interactive maps. Frazier is EXTREMELY hands on. From fishing with the Lewis and Clark exhibit, to buidling a mini bourbon barrel, to literally getting to pick up and play instruments, and build battle scenes with minatures, this is definitely a spot you don't want to miss. Exhibits rotate through, so Frazier Museum should be on your list of places to frequent. Great field trip option or good for a way to spend a few fun and educational hours. Kids ages 3-13 were with me and enjoyed!
Lex
Great experience me and the kids had a great time! If you haven't been I definitely recommend you making the trip.
K Bess
The Frazier museum is ok if you're bored and just need a place to go. The hands-on activited can be riveting and the speak-easy was my favorite room by far! Still, it seemed that some of the exhibits weren't fully developed or as interesting as the guide said they were. I was disappointed in finding the colonial dress up section to only be a chest in the corner of the room full of clothes that weren't entirely in the best condition. While this place was fun and very interesting, I felt it was a tad overpriced for what we got to see. I think the top floor is really the only floor worth seeing, as the most noteworthy exhibits are the speakeasy and Lewis and Clark exhibit. At the latter, it seemed there were a ton of fun things to see and read, as well as a decoding station. Overall, the Frazier Museum was fun for a few bored teenagers but not exceedingly impressive.
Linda Roe
The Frazier History Museum is a unique and lovely treat on Museum Row. I have to admit that originally I did not imagine the variety of exhibits and shows that I have been privileged to attend at this museum. I have seen Princess Diana’s lovely gowns and so many excellent exhibits. When the Speed Museum was under construction and The Frazier allowed us to visit, was the beginning of truly enjoying this museum. I have attended a rooftop wedding there and that only adds to the special surprises I have enjoyed.
Cory Leonardo
The Frazier Museum has changed courses from an arms museum to the History of Kentucky. It's also the front door of the Bourbon Trail. If you really enjoy the history of Kentucky and or Bourbon Trail this is a DEFINITE!
If you're planning an event or wedding they also have a beautiful venue on the rooftop to get married overlooking the Ohio River and venue on the fourth floor to host your reception. The staff is top quality and the venue is beautiful, super clean and easy to work with.
Edward M
If you're gonna do the bourbon trail, gotta start here. Small museum dedicated to bourbon and you have several distilleries within walking distance
Lauren D.
Museum was very informative about the history of Louisville and Kentucky. It was nice to see the different artifacts that have been curated throughout the years
Marion Calabro
Great museum with something for everyone. A mixture of Kentucky history that stands alone as well as how it blends with broader American experiences. Thee collection of figurines is as remarkable as it is diverse. The Lewis and Clark Experience would be great for kids, very immersive. An excellent stop if you're in the area.
Karina Vera
Nice history museum. Exhibits included some history about the city, Louis and clark, prohibition era, and the nutcracker for the holidays, and of course a few wars. They also have a room filled with little figurines that were hand painted. Kids have an opportunity to play with little toy soldiers and animals. They also get to go inside teeppees and play with some interactive exhibits. My 8 year old enjoyed it and so did my 2.5 year old . Overall informative and family friendly.
Brandon Curtsinger
We attended the Hunger Games Exhibition in September, and we were very impressed with the museum.
Brycen Chaplin
Wonderful place. This museum is AMASING!!!!!
Kenny Radcliffe
Been going for 10 years at least. My parents used to drop me off with my cousins and we would just walk around and visit different areas of interest to us. I remember it being called the Frazier Arms museum at the time because of all the weapons from different historical times. I learned a lot while visiting. Great place for kids to go.
Brandon Oliger
The third floor was cool; it contained exhibits on prohibition and Lewis & Clark. There isn't much on the first floor. I was a little peeved because we paid the full price to get in ($12 each), and the second floor was under construction. I say, if you're only going to have two thirds of the museum open, you should only charge people two thirds the price.
Maria Metry
Spent a great afternoon with out of town family at the Frazier Museum and everyone truly enjoyed. Great bourbon exhibit and loved the items of KY
Gary Shean
If you like guns, and "history" as seen through the barrel of a gun, then you'll love this museum. The 10 year old in me liked the museum. My wife hated it. The rotating exhibit on toys was interesting but very small -I assume there are too many guns to make more room.
Tori Chance
Lots of fun! So much to learn and do.
Kenn “FitzFlaad” Stewart
We celebrated our granddaughters birthday here. It was her request. Wonderful day of history and family.
zack hibbs
Very well done. Multiple different styles of history, all Kentucky based. Bourbon, music, frontiersmen then a unique collection of toy soldiers. A great place and very reasonably priced.
Jonathan Clemens
Great history museum, not the world's best, but then how many are? Great collection of weapons particularly, and historic stories told daily. Loved the Lewis and Clark exhibit--highly recommended for kids. And adults.
Patrick Seely
The Frazier History Museum is a must see. There are multiple floors of exhibits and a gift shop. The gardens outside of the front entrance are a nice spot to take a break. Bourbon is everywhere in this part of the city, and the museum has several exhibits on this, and many other, themes.
Beatrice Fu
such beautiful bldg. Good presentation for the Louisville history & also give you lots info for the bourbon. It's a good 2 hours period time to spend in the museum.
Joel Laudenslager
Definitely a smaller museum however it had great character and a wonderful burbon display. You can also arrange burbon tours at the museum as well.
Greg Hopper
I was here for a work event and didn't get much time to see the exhibits, but enjoyed everything I did get to see. I will definitely be back when I have more time.
Pete McShea
Splendid display of a variety of artifacts from Kentucky heritage.
K G
A lot of history travel in one convenient place.
Chris Joyce
I visited this property several times as the photographer for Jennifer Lawrence Power of One and the Bourbon Women Association events. The location on Whiskey Row is easy to find and well marked. The exhibits rotate and the one featured during my visits were Mockingjay and Whiskey: Prohibition. Very well done.
Joshua Morgan
Like the Lewis and Clark exhibit. Examined several aspects with a good mix of different hands on exhibits for children.
Garrett Wilson
This place is full of history. But, like, actual history, not metaphorical history. The museum wasn't built in 1874 or whatever--heck, I remember when it was established, back in 2004. Not much history has happened since then--*remembers how insane the past fifteen years have been*. Scratch that last bit.
Anyway, it's fun and has historical what-have-yous.
Kathryn Friedlund
Really really enjoyed this. Our family's favorite part was the Louis and Clark exhibit area. It was HUGE and had lots of interactive parts, including teepee that you can climb into, a dugout canoe, a cabin with food and tin pans to make food, a dress up trunk, lots of stuff. And it wasn't cheesy. Really really cool.
The Hunger Games area was just ok. If you're an extreme fan, check it out. Otherwise it's just meh. We were a little bummed by the misleading info we were given in the gift shop. The girl working said if we didn't do the Hunger Games exhibit, there wouldn't be that much to see, since nearly half the museum was for the Hunger Games. She said we could expect the rest of the museum to take an hour, and the Hunger Games to take an hour. We disagree. We wish we would have had hours for just the rest of the museum! I could imagine spending 4 hours there easily. The Hunger Games we spent maybe 45 minutes. Not as many interactive things, and some costumes and displays from the movies, but not too much to read, so it was easy to blow through this area.
So definitely enjoy your time in the rest of the museum! Really interactive, the reenactments were really neat too, the actors are very engaging.
Would definitely come back to the main museum area!
J Martin
This museum is basically just a recap of everything we learned in elementary school. I personally think that this museum is more for children than it is for adults. It's definitely not worth $12 a person. I would've gladly paid $5 at the most.
Anthony Kolodziej
Learned so much! Bought an $8 harmonica in the gift shop! FYI, they don't like it if you play it while you're walking through the exhibit. They have a really cool whiskey collection, and a fancy Minority Report table that lets you look up things.
Daniel Heckle
Worth the fee, great presentation and very knowledgeable...
Charles Egerton
It should be 2 1/2 stars!! Maybe it needs to be updated since the Royal Armory pieces are gone. If it wasn't for the Harlan Hubbard exhibit this would have been a wasted 2 hour one-way road trip. And FOURTEEN BUCKS!! Are you kidding me?!? I almost asked for my money back.
Haydon Lawrence
Fab museum, with a seriously good exhibit on prohibition. Particular kudos goes to the performer who did the educational performance on prohibition - that was the absolute highlight for me. Only issue with the museum at the moment is that a large section of one of the floors is currently closed off - I believe that the exhibits they had there have now gone. Not sure what is going to be replacing them.
Stacey Spears
This is absolutely one of my favorite museums! I took my 8 year old son here for the first time and he loved it. He loves to play video games and was really excited to see all of the weapons and displays!
Jbuck
We had a great time. It took 3 hours to get all the way through. We used Groupon and saved quite a bit of money. As a bonus Sons of American Revolution Museum is being built next door. Parking garage was $8 might save a bit if you can park on the street.
Brad Reid
If you’re a fan of miniature army men, bourbon and park/road architectural renderings and paintings, this museum is for you. Three stars knowing how great it used to be; disappointed at the current direction. Try the Kentucky History Museum in Frankfort for Kentucky history.
Kaeleen Gillette
My kids lived exploring the 3rd floor, Lewis & Clark exhibit! As you move along back toward the 1st floor it gets a little less 'kid friendly' but very interesting for adults!
Stephen Lohrmann
Beautiful museum with very interesting exhibits. I thought it was a bit pricey and the museum itself had more open space than exhibits. Nice place to visit but won't go back.
Dawn Mathis
I love the Frazier!!! The Lewis and Clark was interactive and fun. I didn't know Lewis got shot in the rear end and I'll never forget it. My kids really enjoyed sitting in a canoe and making music with drums. Clean too!
N Azadi
Very fun. Good for couples, families with children.
Lauren Dean
I loved their Hunger Games exhibit. However, there was an issue with my Groupon due to being told one thing on the phone and another when I actually arrived. It made it hard to fully enjoy the experience since I was upset with the customer service. I'm not sure if I will return here or recommend it to anyone else.
Monica Hayes
Pretty neat. Great burbon display. Neat items on display.. Like daniel boone, lincoln, washington and others personal and family items. I dont connect with miniatures.. But am sure someone enjoyed it. Gift shop is great. Maps/handouts could be better labeled as they are confusing.
Robin Conquest
This Museum was more than just out history stuff. Right now everything in its about Kentucky in the change of the times. It was so much fun and very worth going
Susan Stewart
Love to take out-of-town guests to this museum. The interactive Lewis and Clark exhibition, the Stewart miniature soldier collection, and the KY Spirit exhibit deliver variety, but it's the historical interpreters who truly make the museum stand out.
michael watts
Lots of very interesting exhibits great museum wish we could have spent more time there
Ana Cohen
We went for the hunger games exhibit and it was disappointing for the price. The good thing was our admission got us into the whole museum. Really for history buffs and not movie buffs like us. It wasn't enough interactive things for us.
Daniel Dunn
This is my happy place. If you are a history nerd like me, a gun enthusiast, into knights in shining armor, this place has it all. Avoid the overpriced gift shop, and you don't really need the headphones unless you don't like reading.
Ky Talitha
Jesse James and Edgar Allen Poe, oh Buffalo Bill, pretty dang amazing exhibits! Plus more miniatures than a person can count. Worth the $8 parking and the $6 dollar raffle tickets!
Nicholas Wise
I preferred it when it was the historical arms museum. The old suits of armor and weaponry were fascinating. Now it’s little more than a tourist stop for the same old bourbon stuff.
Mar concessions Smokehousengrill
Was wonderful! So much info! It's a must
John Skelton
After 4 p.m. it's only $5 to go here! You only need an hour anyway as the exhibits may be smaller numbered they are very high quality pieces. Perfect pre-dinner date spot.
Dan Janes
Amazing selection weapons as well as many reenactments. I saw 2 out of the 3 reenactments while I was there for 2 hours or so. As of May 2016 they have prohibition and Louise and Clark on the 3rd floor with the second floor being a permanent display of weapons and the history of the west/civil war
Regina Carmack
His name is Albert (Peanut) Frazier we had a good time with good friend's.
We will be back in may for the derby.
Andrea Cotton
Very cool museum full of local history and various exhibits. My kids LOVED the interactive Lewis & Clark exhibit on the 3rd floor...I wasn't sure we'd ever get them outta there! :)
Donna Doiron
I lpve the new vision of the Frazier Museum. The kids just loved the Lewis & Clark exhibition. I think it is getting a bit worn but I hope they decide to sink some funding into it because the younger ones find it great inter-active fun.
Ainsley Graff
Huge museum with tons of information on tons of different exhibits! It was quiet the day we went so there weren’t any guides throughout the building (which was fine with us but others may have wanted more guidance).
Sean Moore
Beautiful building with lots to see. Well done.
Lee Heffner
Beautiful museum in the heart of downtown. I love museums where I can spend an hour if I have time to kill, or a few hours to leisurely spend the day.
hubert alsman
A very good experience. I have a girl friend who is so intouch with the arts and experiencing other platose . She loves acting and stage dancing . And has opened up things at a young age I used to enjoy. We had a lot of fun at The Frazier History Muesium.
Tim Cichos
Very enjoyable for the cost. Well worth a visit, especially if you are in the Bourbon game.
Melinda Bradley
My grandson is 6, and he loves going to the Frazier. History Museum! We had an amazing time looking at all the exhibits!
Two thumbs up!😀😀 …
Rose Furnish
Very nice. Self tour or times with a guide. Enjoyed looking at all the interesting exhibits!
Brianna Wells
I recently had my wedding at the Frazier Museum and it was amazing! Julie, Julie & Valerie were amazing coordinators! I was planning my wedding from 14 hours away and they were always there for me to contact via email or phone call. Our wedding was on the 4th floor loft and it was gorgeous! We got married in December and luckily there was no one on the roof, so we received some amazing pictures on the rooftop! Julie was our coordinator the wedding evening and she made sure my husband and I received appetizers and drinks right when we got to the reception. Everyone at the Frazier was amazing and they ensured our wedding a huge success!
Spencer P
My friends had a wedding reception there and we all had an amazing time. Very helpful staff, and a great atmosphere.

The Frazier History Museum (formerly the Frazier Historical Arms Museum and, more recently, the Frazier International History Museum) is a museum in Louisville, Kentucky's "Museum Row" in the West Main District of downtown. It is named for the museum's founder Owsley Brown Frazier.[1] There are traveling exhibitions on display that are on loan from various sources. In addition, a number of costumed interpreters are employed, who perform daily historical interpretations as well as live demonstrations. Educational, cultural and entertainment activities are hosted at the museum throughout the day and evening. The museum is an affiliate in the Smithsonian Affiliations program.[2] The museum has a Rooftop Garden and Loft event space that are often rented for weddings or corporate events.[3]
The Frazier History Museum has announced that the museum will explore and develop the concept of a new and expanded bourbon experience that will include a visitor center and, in partnership with the Kentucky Distillers' Association (KDA), will serve as an official starting point to the Kentucky Bourbon Trail and the Kentucky Bourbon Trail Craft Tour.
The facilities include 75,000 square feet (7,000 m2) of exhibition space over three floors, as well as two areas for interpretations, a 120-seat auditorium, and various displays (including multimedia, interactive and audio-visual). The Frazier Museum Store is on the first floor in the front of the museum, that offers local Kentucky gifts.[4]
The museum formerly (May 2004 – January 2015) displayed British Royal Armouries artifacts, making them the only place in the world outside Great Britain to permanently house and display such artifacts
shawn richter
Not bad, the hunger games exhibit was fantastic. The museum itself is very small and didn't have many artifacts. But overall it was a good experience
CosmicKitty
A museum that does what it sets out to do well. I would reccomend this to anyone who is interested in Kentucky’s history, and bourbon. The Louis and Clark exhibit could of used a bit of an update, though.
Glenn Durham
Very good museum. Interesting bourbon information on this floor, and other Kentucky history on second and first floors
Lee Ann Tucker
Here for the Hunger Games exhibit. It was really cool and they did a great job on the exhibit. Don't miss it! We also went through the rest of it and it was neat. Will come back for future exhibits.
Michael Hobgood
Lots of Bourbon history and history of Kentucky. Worth a visit if your in Louisville Ky.
Hollister Doty-Griner
Nice museum, would probably be pretty fun for kids, even with covid there was some interactive exhibits. I really enjoyed the equal/civil rights section!
Tracy Feerick
Very cool museum with lots to see. Bottom floor with Kentucky famous was my favorite
Charlotte Shotwell
Wonderful museum with so much local culture!
Diane Lippelt
Always have a good time at Frazier History Museum. Their displays are interesting, with several floors to choose from. I could spend hours there
Mavis Benner
The big focus was the boubon story.,The video "the Kentucky story" is excellent . the bourbon story was too much about bourbon a max of 20 min wound have been plenty. Ran out of time to see the local artist's works.
Zach Barrett
