David Bedgood
Very cool Museum, very interesting facts about U.S currency. Kids loved the exhibits that they could understand and that they got a bag of shredded money when we left. Great place to visit with the family for free.
Morgen Cvetko
This place is so cool! It shows you how to detect counterfeit money by looking at it and even smelling it! Also you can see what $30,000,000 looks like!
It is not a large museum, and it is free! You also get a little free bag of shredded money to take home with you! I wouldn’t recommend for kids under 5, just because they wouldn’t be able to really reach or understand the museum.
Also you enter from the side of the building, google maps will take you to the front.
Mirka Mendez
Museum is completely free. Small, good for a quick visit. They have some interesting displays and videos mostly geared towards kids. There's a security check at the entrance so be ready for that. Right on 16th Street, you don't have to go out of your way to get there. I reccomend it.
S Miller
It was a nice visit, however it is a very small exhibit which shows some older currency and presents money management to children. The exhibits have no staff support and the staff there are all oriented toward protecting nothing in the area. Its a good free exhibit for children 7-12 and should only take about 15min to complete. Adults interested in American currency will be disappointed.
Tomasz Zalewski
Loved this small museum, good for kids, shows educational values, some interesting activities as make your own bill, and interesting facts. It made our stay in Denver very pleasant and to get free bag of money and museum is for free ;)
Kimberly Pham
My review is only for the exterior of the building. Lol
I didn't have a chance to go inside because it was closed when I was there. Located in the heart of downtown on the famous Larimer street. Beautiful entrance and feel very welcoming. It would have been nice if their hours of operation can be a bit more flexible for tourists.
Wilson Tsang
It’s really a place for kids to go on a field trip to learn about money. For adults, there’s not too much practical information here. Yes you can see how to tell a fake bill from a real bill and also see some older types of currency that you may have never seen before. But most of the museum is about budgeting for larger expenses and how much people can make at certain jobs, coloring stations and what not. I was in and out after 20 mins
Merche Cuevas
I really enjoyed visiting this museum. It was free. Much more than I expected. I loved the sack of shredded money!
cornerstone1979
Excellent stop to pass a little time and learn a little bit about personal finance and the history of money. You can expect to spend about 30 minutes here as it is not a major attraction that eats up a lot of time. Not a must do in Denver, however it is free and offers an opportunity to learn about financial impacts and history.
Tally B
I wish there was more to see! We only had access to one main room and a projector tv room, it would be cool to have had tour of the whole building. Otherwise it was a very cool experience! They have high intense security but they are extremely friendly. Cool place to bring your kid. They have interactive activities and it was overall a decent experience. You learn a lot about money!
Sheree Hall
The free museum is small, but kid friendly. You will see all kinds of money and learn about the Federal Reserve. You get a small bag of free shredded money to take home.
Katie Vogt
This is the best quick museum for when you have 30 minutes to spare. The information is amazing. It is so cool to see how U.S. money has evolved. They have several interactive components and you can even take a picture with $30,00,000!
Tony Hill
Very nice experience! Respectful staff. Though they dont offer a press room tour, it was still a very nice place to stop and find out where and how our currency is handled and manufactured.
Jessica Swenson
Loved our trip to the Museum! Have to go through security so make sure not to take anything like pocket knives and such. Great learning experience! Kids loved it!
Mark Harvey
I enjoyed killing time looking at the history of our bank notes and coins. The tour is self guided and requires a security screening before entry. The souvenir bag of shredded money was a nice touch. There are a few activities for children, mostly involving making your own money.
DARALEE “Daylily Diva”
Very interesting educational mini museum all about American money. Free. Over 18 must have ID for entry.
Mike Hupka
Ok, its a museum about money, so calm down with the "its boring" nonsense. It is, however, interesting. We spent maybe 45 minutes walking around, got a bag of shredded cash which was pretty cool and then made our way onward. Its a good time. Def worth it if you want to get inside for a little and learn a little something.
Jeremy Bryson
What a find! Takes just a few minutes to explain and lots of fun things to see. Every visitor gets a bag of shredded money!
Hongyu Chen
The museum is little bit small but it was fun. You get a pack of "money" as souvenir.
Frank Verduin
Funny and educational experience about the American money history and monetary monitoring process. The museum is for free (don't forget ID/Passport) and will take you less than an hour
Mike Lindegarde
The money museum is good for what it is. There is an interesting display chronicling the history of currency in the United States along with an exhibit that teaches you about counterfeits. There are also a few interactive stations that younger children should enjoy.
Jessica Scott
It's a very informative place with plenty of cool activities that help you learn about money. Just about all of the displays are interactive. You can also get a free bag of shredded money on your way out.
Antonio Suarez
It was a great experience and great opportunity to learn about the story of our money. Worth it to visit
cp leblow
There isn't really a lot here to see and its maybe 30 minutes of your time if your interested in older paper money and info on spotting counterfeits. You can grab a bag of shredded cash (about $165 worth) for free as you exit.
Robert Jones
Free to get into. Pretty good displays of historical money. Just need to pass through security to get into.
Justin Tyme
It's a nice little stop if you are in Denver. And it's really cool to see different types of money throughout American history. You get to take a little bag of it with you.
210 Red Raider
Although the museum exhibition itself was small, I would argue that the friendly guards up front & the free admission, that comes with a complimentary bag of shredded currency, was worth it💱💵💰
It is insane to think somewhere in their vault, there's upwards of $400 million cash at all times
Rocky Crocker
Free great quick visit especially if your in the area anyways, amazing to see the old money.
J R
It has a few interesting displays, but it is small and can be perused in 15 minutes. Also very heavy handed in its depiction of credit.
Sabrina S
To be honest, it was quite underwhelming. I guess I thought there would be more to it. Convenient, since it's right there with the mall, but otherwise I wouldn't go out of my way to go here.
Thomas Snow
What a great place! It definitely gives you the feeling of being inside a major federal building energy wise and what not. The museum is small, takes about an hour to fully tour it and read/look at everything they have on display. Security there is very friendly and will answer your questions. Added benefit is that it is free.
G Aquino
Any museum about money is sure to delight, and this is no exception. It's small so you don't need more than an hour. Most of the historic artifacts on display are (unsurprisingly) old banknotes and coins, some dating from the colonial years of the country. The rest of the exhibits describe the history of the Federal Reserve, provide interesting tidbits about the money supply and the economy, and promote financial literacy and independence.
To get in, you need a state-issued ID or passport, and you go through an airport-style security check. Admission is free. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. There is no gift shop, but be sure to grab a free souvenir by the entrance, a small bag of shredded banknotes!
J. Andrew Elliott
This is a cool quick stop while in town. Small exhibit, would be cool for kids. I appreciate the free souvenir!
Ashlee Martinez
It's fun to learn! Kids had a great time creating their own money
Ashley Hall
This was a really cool (free) museum. It’s mostly for kids and learning about personal finance but there were interesting parts for adults too. Kids can make their own “money” and all guests can take a bag of discarded, shredded money which was super cool.
Becky Musgrove
There is not a whole lot to this free museum...it is very small. It is located in 1 large room before you enter the Federal Reserve Bank. There is one area that has a display of paper bills throughout history. There is a section where there are 2 bills side by side, same denomination. With a magnifying glass that slides across the display you look through it & try to decide which bill is counterfeit. The main draw for this museum is to see the display with $30 million dollars in the display...it is a popular photo spot! Visitors may also get a free small bag of shredded dollars..1 per person as a souvenir.
Maria Posada
I am 21 years old and I had a blast at this money museum! You should've seen me acting like a little kid making my own money and celebrating getting my free shredded money hahaha! I had no shame! It was such a fun experience and it was definitely worth the stop. We went completely out of our way to go and I say it is totally worth it. Don't miss it.
Johnathan Kulow
This is definitely aimed at kids more than adults. It's mostly displays discussing money management and the concepts of credit and interest. The coolest thing there for adults is the collection of historic currency and the wall of $30,000. Don't forget to grab your sack of shredded currency on your way out!
Jymesita Hawkins
Awesome place to visit while ur downtown and the best part, its Free!!
Mikila Foster
Small but interesting museum. An adult could be through it in 20 minutes but it occupied my 11 year old for 45 minutes. There are some interactive stations where kids can design their own currency.
Sean Henderson
Fantastic rainy (Ha it never rains in Colorado does it?) or snowy day place to take the kids or even just yourself. There is a lot to learn in this small and self-guided museum. It is incredibly interesting to see the history of the currency of the U.S. in all of it's forms and even get to do what most of will never get to do. Look at what 33 million in 100 dollar bills would look like if it were stacked up. The kids can created their own currency to be creative and get to walk out with about $67 in shredded bills. Good time for a museum that your tax dollars pay for (meaning it is "free" to attend)
Scott Wunschel
There's not a lot to see our do, but the exhibits they have are interesting and there are a few activities for the kids.
Tommy
Fun interesting museum about money and the Federal Reserve's role in the money supply of the economy. Free admission, and good for both kids and adults. You can also grab a free bag of shredded (error/misprinted) cash as a neat souvenir.
David B
It's was very interesting and a fun learning experience for kids but since it a federal building they do medal detect you and you need to show ID in order to enter. Free shredded money for each person and admission is free.
Johnathan leary
It's not the most exciting museums but personally I found it super interesting and cool. I felt like I learned a lot of history and fun facts I didn't know before. If your in the area it is free so you might as well make time to check it out, you can walk out with a free bag of shredded bills on your way out as a souvenir
Cory Daignault
That cartoon bird was giving out the kind of sensible investing advice that you can only get in a museum movie room.
Y A Dahan
Nice for kids plus it's free and no reservation is required, good indoors activity with some fun things to do plus you get that bag of confetti money. It is small so dont expect to be there more than an hour.
Mark Richmond
It's educational, historical, and interesting enough for a grade-schooler. Running your hands through piles of money is always a cheap thrill.
The on-site amenities include a comfortable place to sit out of the wind and cold, or at least away from the street smoke, depending on the time of year.
Nora (The Explorer)
It's a small museum at a great location. Btw the admission is free! I recommend this museum for those who love and not love money. It's a great museum for kids and foreigners too. Kids can show their creativity here by taking part in drawing and photo shoot on a dollar bill. It's a good first lesson for kids out there. There's a movie room for those who like to learn more about the history. Although you don't plan to go to any museums in Denver, the moment you walk on the street here, you feel that you need to make a stop at this museum and find lots of money! They give away "free money" at the entrance. No kidding!
Grzegorz Latocha
Very nice small museum. You can learn how to discover fake money, see a little bit of history of the US dollars and see how 30Mio dollars looks like. On the way out, take a bag of shredded money. It's Free. Have the ID on you to enter
Christian B
The Money Museum is an interesting place to spend about and hour or so if you are visiting the 16th street mall area. This free self guided tour allows one to see all the different forms of currency that has been used in the United States since the first forms of paper money were used. Other points of interest included the counterfeit detection test and the many different "edutainment" computer simulators which teach about the value of money, loans, interest, and inflation. If math, finance and accounting is your thing, then you will love this small interactive museum. Dont forget to bring your government issued ID since they will scan it and run it through a background search plus run you through a metal detector before being allowed to enter.
T
Small, free, fascinating museum run by the Federal Reserve Bank. Lots of historical coins and bank notes on display, gold bars, a stack of $30 million dollars (behind thick glass), history of US money. Free bags of shredded dollar bills (estimated value $130, but you''ll need a lot of tape). Getting in security is tighter than at an airport. They will check your ID and there's the xray machine.
Emily Porter
Definitely not big enough for what I would have liked it to be, but very educational and a great way to kill 20 minutes in the area. Educational video, free "bag of money" and some nice information around the little area. Learn a lot, but not a place to plan the day around by any means.
Traci Ogden
It was so interesting to see the history of money. Where else can you get a bag of money ;)
Bianca S
This is a small museum only one room. Even though it's small it's nice and informative. It gives you a little break from the city's weather. It's also free which is nice, over all a good put stop.
Jesse Columbus
Fascinating and Free. If you need to kill 45 minutes good place to learn about the history of our money. You can also leave with a bag of about 120 dollars worth of bills too. Only catch is they are shredded and some assembly required.
B Stock
I have wanted to stop here for a couple years now. I finally had an opportunity this week. It is smaller then I expected but had some intresting displays including a stack of 30 million dollars (or at least a representation at closer inspection the top bills were real the rest was blank). Still intresting to see what that much money would look like in cash. If you are downtown and have 45 minutes to kill I would suggest stopping in.
Dave Cummins
This isn't a large museum but it did have a variety of older bills to look at. You can get a small bag of shredded money free. Kids seemed to enjoy designing their own money.
carr family Carr
what a great, free mini visit. we spent about 1 hour there and enjoyed the history and free money (shredded). best part was making a $100 bill with my face on it
Agresticmajestic
Cool place. Great for kids since it has a few interactive display. Plus it's FREE!!! Not too either so if your by yourself or don't have kids with you it doesn't take long to go through.
Greg Russell
Quick self guided tour, it's free and there are a few activities to do inside if your kids are interested in money including designing your own currency notes, and taking a souvenir bag of shredded money, which is kinda cool and kids definitely get a kick out of it (me too!)
Michelle Yarbrough
Small, simple, and a quick visit. We had so much fun designing our own fake money. You also get a bag of shredded money when you visit the museum.
Jorge I. Arroyo
The gravy is meaty and thick, the biscuits are a little fluffy for me, but they were very large and tasty. Their OJ was fresh squeeze or some high-end stuff because I had a flash back to my childhood at Grandma's house.
Indy Villagarcia
Nice stop for a few minutes, unless you have young children. Very nice for school-age groups.
Yvette maynard
This place was really educational about money.
I liked the fact it was free to get into.
There is a display of $30000000.00 cash that was neat to see.
They also have all sorts of money from the past on display.
Fernando Fernandez
Nice Museum. Self Guided and very interesting!
MrDjjustice24
Cool quick walk through bout 30-40mins max. You have to go through security and I bet kids get excited over that. Worth a visit and it's free so hard to beat. Great area around this place walk and eat as well. Park in one of the paid parking lots.
Beth Backman
Free. Just off the 16th mall so easy to get too. Some interesting exhibits on the history of the American bill. I was hoping for more interesting exhibits. The Mint might be a better tour.
Jake Blair
Interesting museum about money and the Federal Reserve. Fairly small museum and you do have to go through security to get into the building. However, you get to leave with a souvenir bag of old, shredded money.
Jon Drucker
It wad great seeing currency over the past 200 plus years. Or more precisely, who knew that we only got currency during the Civil War? This was one of many interesting facts learned at this small museum.
Dave Bellomy
This museum is well done but is not very big. Will take you less than 45 minutes to see everything. Not exactly a destination, but a good option if you are killing some time.
Parker Spitzer
A lot smaller than I expected. There was a lot of good information on the functions of the Federal Reserve.
Bruce Miller
Very security minded...i.d. scanned....small....easily less than an hour to do....lots of fun hands on activities...and lots of historical currency that will put your knowledge of history to the test...plus free money! Although it is shredded.
Kim
The museum was quite small but it was fun to tour.
Antonis Papazoglou
Nice to get a glimpse of a federal government building. The museum is small and with free entry, contains displays with old dollar notes and how to tell fakes. Friendly staff.
Patrick Jost
It was a great stop to see our country in action. I wish there was more to see and do. I know other's who left with us said thr same. Great start not have a video how thr money is made or how money is destroyed. Also make sure you have an state ID to get in.
Crystal Nguyen
Fun little place that we stumbled upon walking around the city. Free admission to come learn about how money works! Plus, you can get a free bag of shredded money as a keepsake.
Mr. Pete
Very short visit is all you need. But, interesting enough.
Easy to understand history of money. Probably perfect for young children 7-12...
Maya Ebrahim
Get a bag of free (shredded) money and learn how to spot a fake note. Not bad for free.
AJ McGwire
This is suited more to school children, fourth to sixth grade. However, adults will enjoy looking at displays of currency from the past and 30 million dollars.
Travis
Quite small and nothing spectacular, but certainly worth a visit to kill 20min.
blinke (blinke)
Decent exhibit. Lots for kids to do and an interesting sight for money enthusiasts. See $30M in one box. Don't forget your free money at the exit!
Courtney T
Free. Totally worth a visit to learn ab money and the economy. It's small but you can easily spend over an hour here. Make it part of your next visit downtonw.
Electrical Solutions
Small museum but very informative.
Zac Jacaruso
It was free, minus the $2 per 12 minutes we paid for parking... And got us out of the freezing cold while we killed some time before heading to the airport. Kinda boring but some interesting history.
Jessica Jo Blinkinsop
A free and fun activity for all ages. Short museum compared to many others in Denver area. Free money bag as you exit!
Miles Kelsey
Interesting but not much to see.
Jacob Reynoldson
It is a cool room with old currency, but minting tours are no longer held. We were referred to Kansas City if you want to see the actual operation.
John Stewart
Informative, but mainly seems to be designed more for children, still a cool stop if only to look at the historical dollar designs (it's also free so...)
Brittany Pringle
It was a cool place to go! Go when it is free, I'm not sure it is worth paying for. Remember to bring your photo ID, it is required to get in if you're an adult.
Pathik Pandya
Has a display of all historical currencies in the US. Best done with a follow-up visit to the mint. The design your own currency camera was not functional .
Dillon Daniel
I thought this would be cool for adults, and there are some neat pieces. But really it’s for children. But you do get to walk away with a free bag of money! (Shredded ;)
Landry Chamberlain
Doesn't look nearly as interesting as some of these other reviews are making it sound, that's for sure. Maybe you could just take your kid on a "tour" of 16th Street Mall instead of going on a tour here with someone who's too young to have any interest in a place of this nature.
Ashley Smith Mikkelson
Super Cool! Every educational.
Dyah Perwitasari
Many information about banks and dollar. The place is cool but small. We have to show ID Card or Passport to enter and no charge.
Vasil B
It a bit smaller then i thought but its free! Worth visiting ! You can pick up a bag of real shredded money as souvenir)
Green Screen Miami
Pretty interesting stuff and its free. Great option when its freezing outside. Its also nice to have something cool to show your kids.

Small but cute and loved the old money
Rebecca Hertz
So neat. Did not expect it to be so! Nice break for adults and kids from the heat and rain when in the area. Didn't take too long to explore...about an hour was enough.
Laura C
It's a small museum, but nice. Only takes about half an hour to see everything. There are several exhibits for kids.
Devon C
Cool museum. Educational and fun. Dont take video or they'll tell u not to. Very strict. Photos r cool no video.
Keith Turner
I was fun to be able to go inside a federal reserve bank. The dispalys of U.S. money thoughouts its history was interesting. I took home a bag of shreded money. The novelty of that alone was wkrth it.
Maison Dwyer
Pretty small museum but great for kids. There's a case with 30mil! Definitely worth checking out!
Vineeth Eranical
Fun place for kids and adults alike
Phillip North
It's alright, good if you have kids. I would only come here if it's cold out and you need to kill some time for free. There are way cooler things to do in Denver
