Reviews of EdVenture Children's Museum
Michelle B
We had so much fun spending the day at this museum. This museum is a great way for kids to learn through play. Lots of hands on activities. The ladies working in the science area were so sweet. They were helping my boys learn about circuitry. I was very impressed with how they took the time to interact with my kids. We will definitely plan another trip here.
Jennifer Martin
Nice little science museum with some fun activities. Not amazing for a full day but okay for a couple hours. I would become a member if we lived closer to make the price worth it. Eddie is a neat exhibit and is designed for climbing with a slide too. Upstairs the craft area has potential but depends on what other kids have already been through.
Lupe Kleber
This place is amazing! A great little way to spend some time letting kids run around, explore and learn. My son is 6 yrs old and autistic, he loved it and can't wait to go back. So many things for them to climb on and touch. Children on state assistance also get a discounted rate on admission.
D mike
We had a great time visiting this museum. So many fun interactive things for the kids to do. They loved Eddie and had a blast climbing him and Learning about all the different parts of the body. We will definitely be back!
Krystal B
The six year old had a good time, but it definitely could use a cleaning/painting/item replacement refresh in certain exhibits where the wear and tear was very obvious. Hand sanitizer pumps all about, but half that were tried were empty... even the soap dispenser one hour after opening.
J. W. Coffin
Great time with our two year old. She didn’t want to leave! They had multiple hand sanitizer stations which was nice too. Only complaint is that most of the exhibits were very dusty and didn’t not like they had been cleaned in a long time!
N D
Nice place to visit, fun, outdated though. A deep clean, wipe down and update would some good in keeping kids interested. Not like new items but repaint for brighter experience, add sensory lights in certain places etc. because some things were outdated with info and interaction.
Tiara Taylor
My daughter absolutely loves this place! We visit once a week.
My husband and I had our wedding (which I planned) !and reception here at Coble plaza and in the canal room!! It was beautiful!! Big Thanks to Autumn and the Edventure staff for assistance in providing the venue!!
Tris Powers
I want to be impressed but I cant :(. The place was kinda dirty and dingy. Probably because it was on Friday afternoon so busy time for them.
The playground area was kinda cool but some of the hands on play learn activities were missing some parts.
I think this children museum needs a lot of TLC.

I had family visiting us from overseas. Had 5 year old girl and 7 year boy. Took them on one afternoon they were closing early due to storm. Kids looked at couple things from reception area and was very disappointed. I had to take them next day and so much fun they even time to go home was difficult.
Tammy Kiger
So much fun here. This place has everything!! Learning is fun here, the kids learned some things and so did I. The room about the universe and stars and planets is my absolute favorite! Everything is interactive and the kids absolutely loved this place. My 4 year old grandson was so excited about being somewhere Blippi made a video at- he was so excited about this!
Jennifer Atkinson
We made a weekend trip to go to Edventure. Our toddler loves Blippi & there's an episode that Blippi visits Edventure. Our toddler is always fascinated with that episode. So we drove from Athens GA & had a great time. Only complaint I would have is parents aren't considerate that another child might want a turn to play. The 3 & under area was perfect for a bit! Until parents with their 7-12 year old children came in & took over. This area needs to be reinforced bc apparently visitors cannot read the 3 & under sign right on the door. It's frustrating bc our son is 18 months old. The older kids do not care if they knock him over or take what he was playing with.
Chelsea Bowman (Ms Summer)
A great experience. My son loved it he went wild from the fire fighter truck, to the publix marketplace, to upstairs in the aircraft & spaceship! Not bad in price & the wait was kinda not bad too I really didn't think it was gonna be alot of people/kids, went on a Saturday so it was kids all ages everywhere lol
GD H
My 9 year old daughter loves it. Fun place to go, lots of craft areas and things to do. Educational but fun. I even got to make attire to go to a Carolina Panthers game.
Jas D
Wonderful experience!
Parking was easy and no line to get in.
Exhibits were fantastic and interactive. Lots to do for kids and adults can certainly join in on the amusements.
Highly recommend anyone with a few hours of spare time to give this a try.
Joshua Rush
My kid loved the giant Eddie. We go to a lot of these places and this is by far the filthiest of any we have been to. Be aware that it is very easy to lose sight of an active child here. Worth a visit but be ready. Staff did a great job.
Bobby D
I visited this place a few weeks ago. The News Room is so cool its around the corner from the Fire truck. There were little kids in the space area sneezing on stuff so I didn't get a chance to experience that area. My family and I took some nice pictures. I have some hilarious videos of me. The staff was very nice! Oh, I forgot don't forget to purchase one of those collector coins the machine is across from the door with the plane outside you need two quarters and a penny. Have fun if I were a little younger I'd have more to say.
Jennifer Andrews
My family and I had a wonderful time here at EdVenture Children's Museum. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There are some good activities that the children can participate in. I mean they have a full size Firetruck in there for the kids to play around in. They can even wear the jackets that look like what the firemen have to wear. Also the fire hats and play around with the water hoses. I definitely recommend.
Monica Thomas
Wonderful place to spend time with the family. The little ones enjoyed it so much. They had great experience.
Marta Torres
Lovely museum! I did not get to go inside due to lack of time but what I saw was enough to make me want to go back to enjoy the whole experience!
Sumber Ban
Fun for the whole family. Educational , hands on, wide range of exhibits. We all had a great time. Highly recommend !
Liliana Ivanova
Give the children a gift by visiting EdVenture. Give them a chance to play, have fun, develop skills. Children develop social skills, imagination, communication, creativity, reasoning. The game promotes learning.
EdVenture, gives children the opportunity to play many roles; farmers, cooks, grocers, astronauts, firefighters, and many helpers. By playing at EdVenture, they create experiences that last a lifetime
Charles Burdette
Fun place for the kids to play and explore. This was our second visit and the kids were just as excited as the 1st. Easy to spend a couple of hours in here if you see and interact with all of the exhibits. Reasonably priced for what you get. All of the employees were friendly and polite.
Jasmine Herrera
My son loves Blippi and we watched his Edventure episode on YT. He was terrified with Big Ed at first but after running around he didn't care anymore. He didn't know where to go play first. He loved the whole second floor and wouldn't and went crazy all over the place. A great place for small and bigger kids.
NeNe W
It is a nice place for children to go. My son enjoyed himself and the employees are so nice. My son enjoyed the grocery market, fire truck, and the aircraft displays. He also enjoyed playing in Eddie.
Britt C
It was OK alot of stuff was either broken or missing. But the kids loved it and that's all that was important to us. Bring a lunch there's was closed until they find a new catering company. Also if you get wic or Medicaid you get a huge discount also kids that are 2 and under are free
Jeff Quinlan
Really awesome place to take your kids. Mine could have stayed forever and not been bored. There are tons of interactive exhibits and great ways to use your noodle. It was well worth the drive and there are places nearby to eat.
Grace Myers
Engaging, exciting, and surprisingly tidy, the EdVenture Children's Museum is 100% going on my "must visit again" list.
My children (6 and 2) were exhausted after a full afternoon playing, but were fighting back yawns, just trying to play some more.
Two exhibits were closed for maintenance, but that didn't dull any spirits.
Blippi's video of this place on YouTube made it look great, but it's larger than life when you get to visit in person.
10/10, I highly recommend.
Misty Johnson
Clean, friendly and a great place to take your children for some fun. Some equipment could be updated and/or painted (tidied up). But, other than that it was a good experience. We've been several times. I've never been disappointed.
Yunhea Kim
My daughter loves it here because there are so many things to do and play with. The staff is amazing and very helpful when you need something. We have a yearly membership so I love how convenient it is to just go so she can play.
Michelle Parks
My 3 year old loved it and so did I We will be visiting again soon
Katie Kanable Rogers
$13/person which is pretty steep considering it isn’t very big/some exhibits are closed. We did everything on a busy day and was done in about an hour. Not worth it in my opinion. My kids had fun, but we won’t return.
Jennifer Rhode
Our family hasn't visited since COVID until today and it seems the museum has encountered residual effects of the pandemic. Kids were really excited to visit and they seemed to have a good time but the changes didn't go unnoticed by the adults. Examples: half the books in the library are gone, the tables and chairs at the restaurant are gone, several areas closed including the cafe, area behind the veterinary clinic and area behind the fire truck. Also, there was visible dirt such as in the Newsroom where you could see dust bunnies on the floor and variations of fingerprint marks all over the sound board.
Peter Huber
Spent a few hours here with my kids, it was a lot of playing and crafting - mini golf, playground, paper airplanes, jumbo battleship, coloring pages, building blocks, marble tracks, grocery store play, fire truck, news room, veterinary area, and flight simulator. There were several exhibits that were turned off or broken. I really expected more educational things like the biology lab where we dissolved peppermints. The majority of the spaces were hands-on activities, and role play, but the science labs were the redeeming educational aspects of the museum.
Amanda R
13 bucks per adult or kid. Children under 2 free. There is sooooooo much to do. So many places to explore. We got to make slime which was quite fun! Highly recommend a day here.
Clarence Thomas
Took my 3 year old grandson here for his birthday. He had a good time. Its a cool little museum, but needs some cleaning and updating. Cool place for young kids.
Virginia Glazzard
My grandkids had fun. The Saturday bf Halloween all the kids were dressed up and they had trick or treat to top it off. Great fun for the whole family. Allows kids to use their imaginations.
Jasmine Stafford
We only made it for the last 30 mins. But Omg! It was still so much fun. So huge!!! My kids cried when we left because we didn't get to explore the whole place. The staff were really friendly, kind, and helpful. You save money if you have EBT or WIC, even military and educator discounts. It's in a perfect location right next to the state museum as well.
Angee Cox
Edventure has been updating the displays. Good place to take kids, because there are so many things to do 🙂
april alexander
My 2 boys, 11 and seven really enjoyed themselves, however they had a few sections closed off. There was no explanation why. I would have really liked if they had the opportunity to experience everything that I paid for.
Anamalia Stogner
My kids love it here, so many hands on activities. They get to be kids and explore everything. I loved it! I feel like I can be a kid again! We will probably get the 1 year membership, my kids love it that much!
Sai Queen
Went with family recently. The children had fun. I didn’t like how chaotic the grocery area was. I get covid is still an issue. So i see parents cradling their kids preventing kids to really socialize. Not many hand sanitizer machines so you can only imagine how dirty the toys are. The entire time I was in the area the workers were standing to the side talking amongst eachother. I remember actually learning things when I was there around that age. I saw someones child pushing her cart to the checkout and just waiting. I asked her if she needed help. She wanted to check out her groceries. I clear the register for her and she and my niece put the groceries back where they go like “stocking”. Then all the other kids started stocking once they were done. Personally I wouldn’t want to work at a grocery store. The employees should have helped or done something.
Gregg Miller (GKubed)
Great for all ages from 2-year-olds all the way up. They have accommodations for newborns and older kids. There was lots to do and lots of fun to be had. We bought a membership as we left and applied our admission price to that membership total, we will be back many times we can't wait to visit the other locations.
LaLa G
Recently had my Grandson's 3rd birthday party here. Loved the experience.Staff was friendly and professional . They made the event effortless for us. Great Job .
Brianna Shahnazarians
Our family love it. The price is exceptional. They're cleanliness standards are amazing. Be weary of the new downstairs spaceship. We believe it was added as a prop for the kids show blippy ad well as the cords for the new battleships. (Both props) or so I assume. My children watch the show and that episode those were "new editions" you can see my carpenter husband holding the roof up on it in the last photo so the kids up top and our kids below were safe. We did notify an employee in the kitchen otw out I'm sure they will have it handled swiftly.
Linsey Harbac
So much fun here. Our kids loved it. By the way if you have medicaid, snap, or another form of government benefits tickets are on $3 instead of the normal $13. Check it out!!!
Hannah Starke
Well worth the 90 minute drive from Charleston. There was so much to keep even my 1.5 year old engaged, which we've struggled with at other children's museums. We'll definitely be making the drive back.
Leigh Petty
Agree with others that the facility needs some TLC. A lot of things weren't working and were dirty. The bathrooms were pretty gross as well. The only place I saw any staff was standing around the front desk chatting with each other. The place has a lot of potential and my 20 month old nephew enjoyed it, but it left a lot to be desired in my opinion.
Eduardo Tesi
Really good children’s museum with tons of activities and interactive zones for kids to play and learn. My kids loved the firetruck and airplane experience. The shopping at Publix experience was actually really fun. I didn’t know my kids enjoyed shopping at Publix that much LOL.
Daniel H.
Okay but not great.
Surprisingly, entry is not timed to limit over crowding. They limit ticket sales per day but that does t prevent hundreds of people being in a small space at on time. Not exactly covid safe.
Godis Nanu
This place is great! Love the classes. Staff was wonderful too. Definitely worth getting a membership, especially if you homeschool.
Glen Kornhauser
EdVenture is a cool place! My five year old and twelve year old had a good time! Good exhibits, lots of hands on stuff. Very friendly staff when you first enter. Worth a visit in a rainy or hot day!
A few drawbacks that kept it from five stars:
1. There are no employees that circulate the floors.
2. A lot of the exhibits are seen in a brief amount of time. I wouldn't plan a whole day. We were there 2.5 hours and I had enough.
3. There just didn't seem a lot to do. There was a lot to see, but the educational aspect was brief. Would have been slightly better if there was enough to do, read and hands on each exhibit.
But, we liked it! At least my kids did.
During our visit, the fire alarm went off. Staff was very good about moving people out in an orderly fashion. Hats off for the safety.
Felicity Duran
My kids had fun, so that’s what is most important, but I was not too happy with our visit and neither was my husband. I’m glad I bought a year pass and can come often to make it worth it. It would definitely not be worth the daily price. There just didn’t wasn’t enough to offer to warrant the daily rate, considering I’ve been to places that were cheaper and offered more. The whole place in general was disgusting. Bathrooms were atrocious. All the play clothes were so smelly, I didn’t let my kids near them. They were all falling apart as well. Everything just needs a deep clean. Everything was greasy or smelly or had smudges of goodness knows what on them. I realize that kids go in and touch everything, but knowing that they should have a better system for keeping the place clean. I’ve been to similar places both in the US and in Europe and this is the dirtiest one I’ve seen yet. The staff were rude. The place was way too packed. It definitely felt like a safety issue. I can’t imagine that many people trying to escape in a fire. There was barely enough room to squeeze by in each room/space. Our whole time there, I felt like people were literally on top of us.
Caroline New-Figueroa
Such a great place for kids to go to and play and explore
So many different things for all age until 16
Loved the separate section for 0 to 3 year olds also the section for breast feeding and the amount of bathrooms is great
A bunch of classes for the kids to attend also
Sarah Cryor
Great place to bring young children. A room dedicated to 3 and under, a market for children to play "store", a variety of different activities for kids aged 4-10.
Leon Robinson
Guess I was expecting more. This place is in serious need of some renovations as everything looks aged, carpets are pretty dirty and a lot of the exhibits were "closed" not sure how long they were closed or if they were just closed the day we went but still disappointing. It's not very expensive but as I mentioned earlier, this place needs to be renovated. My daughter who is 3 had fun never the less which is why I'm rating it 3 stars.
Precious Nealy
It was a great experience for a Christmas Eve trip. The staff was friendly and they sanitized the equipment. Our 3 year, 13 year and 17 year old enjoyed it.
april cole
My kids have always loved all the different activities especially the grocery store and fire truck. Some days can be a little overwhelming for us we didn't realize we visited during a camp they were having and the kids from the camp were pushing other kids down and taking everything out of each station, it was chaos. I was surprised how little supervision they had and they weren't being made to follow rules, clean up messes or reminded to be considerate of others. We've been coming here for years & have never seen anything like it. Then the elevator was closed due to them putting up stickers on the wall & I have a handicapped son & wasn't made aware of it until we tried using it and it limited us to downstairs.
Harley Benton
This museum actually paid for my daughters class to go for free!! All the children loved it!! There was tons of thing to do and interact with. They have a tall statue of a boy that can be climbed around in!! The whole place was really cool my daughter enjoyed the news room! The air plane room!! The giant chest board! Climbing around the giant kid even tho when you get the the brain it's a "little freaky" as she said. 😂😂😂 but it's a great place to go on a rainy day!!!
Velencia Chatman
Its ok. The main attraction was Eddy and it didn't seem like much effort was put into anything else. I did appreciate the cleanliness of the establishment however most exhibits were unfortunately closed when my family visited.
April Bui
Children 8, 6, and 1 all had a wonderful time at this museum. Big Eddie in the front sure made a great impression on the kids. Able to see of the different body parts while playing in a jungle gym. Flight simulation was an attraction for our adults in the family. Employees were welcoming and engaging. It also has a little water area outside. Big plus f as ctoring in a play area for 3 year olds and below. They have their own nursing area for breastfeeding moms as well. Overall, Columbia EdVenture was a great little surprise for the kids visiting from Savannah, GA.
Kofeii
Edit: they upgraded the toddler area with new toys!
Fun place to bring children, lots of exciting things to do and very well maintained and clean. Although the section for 3yr and younger is a little beaten and could use an upgrade in toys / activities.
Anthony N.
EDDIE is the star attraction. I just wished the parts were labeled to make it more informative. Much of the place was interactive play, which is good, but lacks some of the science behind exhibits. The flight exhibit is the best at achieving some science with the play. The maker space is also good but seems standard with the science and children's museums I visit. The fire truck display also does a good job of being informative.
Amanda K
Was so fun! Eddy, the giant boy, was very cool to go through, although he scared my 2 and 4 year old at first. There were so many great things that even though we live 90 minutes away we got a membership. So fun!
The outdoor area isn’t open until spring.
Delaware Diva
EdVenture is a great place to bring the kids. It's very interactive and child friendly. My kids love the big giant boy. We were there when they were in the process of changing some of the exhibits, so we didn't get to experience it all. We go every year when we visit Nana who lives in SC. So new exhibits still make it fun and intetesting.
Laura Ybarra
We are members and always enjoy our time here. My little is happily learning through play for at least an hour if not two. I only wish their family programs were also on weekends so working families with toddlers could also enjoy them.
Updates to Eddie's floor and stairs look great!
Ratoya.
My nephew loved it here. He loved it more than the Atlanta museum. I, however, am a little bit biased because I worked at the Atlanta location but definitely a great museum. I wished we were able to see the new exhibit. There was so much to do, that we missed out on upstairs. Next time...only 4 stars because many of the buttons did not work. Also he bugged me about the doors that didn't open in almost every exhibit but im sure that part cant be helped. But yeah the none working machines were bit of a letdown still fun!
Leslie Maddox
Cute museum for the kiddos! Very clean friendly staff. My daughter could play for hours. Only complaint is it cost the same price for child and adult.
Sheena E
Very creative museum providing entertainment for all ages. There is plenty to do for both my 1 and 6 year olds. Eddie’s body, the fire truck and the kitchen/grocery area were they favorites. The science behind everything went over their head but they still enjoyed themselves. They have labs, a room just for those under 3, play areas and a lot of interactive exhibits. My boys were exhausted after leaving and there was still a lot to do.
Heather Whitaker
We love Edventure! We have kiddos ranging in age and they all enjoy themselves! They do a great job changing things up so there's always something new to explore! They offer a family night for $1 a person which is great so everyone can enjoy it!
Roel Feys
EdVenture is a nice children's museum with many hands-on activities for toddlers and children. The staff are very friendly and there's a number of activities scheduled throughout the day (e.g., Flight Dome movie experience, Science Show). Only one minor criticism, the facility could be kept a bit cleaner (e.g., layer of dust on top of flight simulators), but I understand that's a challenge, but also a necessity, in a facility that has so many kids passing through.
Katy Bellew Rush
It had lots of nice educational areas that would appeal to different ages and interests. I've been to several different children's museums in NC and SC and compared to the one in Greenville SC it's lacking but it's much better than the one in Spartanburg. My biggest issue was how dirty everything was. I understand it's tough to keep everything clean with that many hands touching it but it looked like the floors weren't swept , some of the railings had caked dust on them etc... everything in there looked like it needed a good deep clean. But we had fun.
Troy Worch
This is a great, fun place for young children. A wonderful environment of hands on learning and education. For those that know this is along the lines of The Magic House or the Science Center in St Louis. The have exceptional displays and a very user friendly environment. It is a little on the small side compared to it's larger city competitors but this is a neat venue for the midlands. Definitely make this a stop for your kids if you have the time.
Carrie Coleman
My 2 year old loved it here! Can easily spend 3 hours without getting bored!
Drew Odom
Our 3 year old absolutely loved it! There is a ton of stuff for kids to do and it's fun and easy to engage parents in the play areas as well. The café is pretty expensive for what you get; I wouldn't plan on eating there again but the food was decent. Biggest knock to it is a few of the toys/exhibits need maintenance. We had a really great time here and we'd love to take our son again.
Or Bar-Ziv
Amazing place. Reduced 1 star because they overcharge. $35 for a child with 2 parents. Absolutely not fair to charge the parents. For sure not $10 for each.
Tiffany Gibson
It was amazing exploring this museum with my children. They had a blast we will definitely be utilizing the family membership! They really love the grocery store, cafe/diner station. They were really enjoying the tiles in the elevator too. Worth a trip if you haven't been before. They have a pilot training flying game that was very amusing for the kids. They loved that the pilot cockpit of the airplane setup is suspended out side of the building over looking the road. There is a large body to explore in the center of the main area. It is full of tubes and tunnels to explore the human body. For small children they have a zone that is set up just for them with slides and a play zone!
Shawn Kiley
EdVenture is fantastic. Our daughter loved it. So many things to do. We didn’t see all of it, and will definitely make the trip back. Very educational and our daughter had a great time.
Susanne Crowder
We have always loved bringing our grands here...we drive 90 min. To get there. They enjoyed it but you guys need some serious cleaning. 3 of the 5 commodes in the ladies room were out of order... seriously.
I don't think this place has been cleaned in at least two years since the last time I was there. We will not return
Becky I
It's a great indoor play area for the 10 and under set! Many learning areas and opportunities for hands on experiences. Looking forward to coming back with the grandkids soon.
NAILAH MALONE
This a fun interactive museum for toddler and preschool age children. There is some things for a little bit older children but definitely not a place I would say is for teenagers. They have plenty of things that are the opposite of most museums i.e. children are encouraged to touch and to play with everything that's available. There's information postes in several sections for them to learn more information about the exibit. There is a myriad of different things for them to explore that in and of itself is worth a trip.
Jay Ososo
Oh man! Blippi has been here! So awesome! I was watching it with my daughter, this is a excellent place for adventure and learning for kids! The staff seem friendly and professional! Place seems nice and clean! My favorite part of this museum is role playing as firefighters with a real fire engine! As a former volunteer firefighter this brought joy. And one other favorite is role playing as a astronaut! If I lived in the area I definitely would come by!
Michelle Shelton
Many neat activities for kids, but greatly lacking in sanitation and upkeep. We only saw two employees in our 2.5 hour visit and they were sitting in the grocery area on their phones.
We noticed many activities in disrepair or lacking the supplies to make them user friendly. (Golf.sand sifting outside. Drawing. Pick the peaches etc.) Every surface was sticky, dusty and dirty. DESPITE our adult qualms, our 3 year old loved it and $13 is not bad for an indoor activity with age appropriate activities.
Cristi K
It was fun. I brought my 13 and 11 year old there. They had a good time playing. The little boy statue is a must see, he is HUGE!
Ja-Kia McCullough
Simply amazing. My toddlers had a blast. Everyone was so nice.
Andrew Duggan
Kids had a great time. They were big fans of the firetruck and the plane cockpit among many other things
Shannon D
My boys really enjoying this museum. There were a lot of activities for them to do, ages 2 and 3. We went on a Saturday and got there a little after they opened and we had enough time to see everything and play for a while. We left for lunch came back and played for a little while longer. However, when we got back around 2 there were so many kids there that it was hard to really enjoy ourselves. I read several reviews about the museum being dirty and for the most part it wasn't but kids are messy so there was stuff out of place but from what I saw employees were cleaning it up as fast as it was getting messed up. I do plan on going back with them in the near future.
Cindy Childers
My four year old grandson and I explored every inch of Ed Venture for three hours. Lots of places for grand folks and parents to sit and observe their little's interactions with other children. Adults socialized with each other, as well.
M.D. Osas
My kids had a great time, even with the 3 school busses full of kids running around (can get crowded). There was a lot to do, and my autistic 4yr old, even with all the noise, found things that occupied his time and made him happy. Some buttons are missing in the newsroom, and if you watch Blippi (the Edventure episode) there is no longer a "winter room".
Edwin Reyes
I expected more. $21 (2 adult's, 1kid military entry). Kids are going to love it no matter what. It's quick simple and convenient. A good 10-20 kids an hour possibly less. Some of the exhibits are run down and need maintenance, especially the outside water area. Reminds me of a McDonald's play park jus no food (food area was closed). If you looking for a spot to burn off the batteries of your Lil guy or gal, definitely a spot to go. But then again McDonald's or Burger King play park is jus the same rating but doesn't have the learning experience. It is free though.
Crystal collin
I took my2 year old here 10 years ago and just went back for my 3 year old, she enjoyed it and had alot of fun. If you have a child who loves firetrucks this is a great place to go, as one of the exhibits is a firetruck, they can push the lights and get in the driver seat.
Andrew M
It's okay. Could be better, but could also be alot worse. Broken equipment and missing parts throughout. Also, it looks like the entire place could use a good dusting and cleaning. Kids still love it though.
Svetlana Frolenko
Great place for children and adult people. Really interesting and useful. Thank you so much!
kristy mercer
Perfect place for kids. It has fun and educational stuff for all ages. The first pic is outside. It is exhibit kids can climb on and slide down. It is the water exhibit. The other 2 is fire truck exhibit and big ed. The kids can climb inside big Ed. They have a food area but we didn't eat there.
Wendy Russell
Such a great experience. There was so much for my 5 year old to do and explore. Definitely fun for the adults too. Definitely a place we would go back to! Really neat exhibits and we loved the interactive boy statue
Daryl Blackburn
Really fun for the kids. Could be picked up and cleaned slightly better buy my son and I had a fun day and I will definitely be back with him and my family again.🙂 …
Dale Duberry
I think i liked it more than the kids did..but for little kids it's a good experience..like the big statue in the middle when u walk in its pretty cool..you'll see what I mean once u walk around back of it
Tonya Hyatt
Took my 1 year old for his 1st time and he didn't want to leave. It was an amazing place! Lots to do for ages up t ok I would say around 10 years old. He was just amazed at everything.
Christina Dyer
Our first experience was amazing! Everything is hands on and there is so much to do! This is a great place for kids of all ages!!
Josh W
Fun friendly museum for kids and adults. Lots to see and do. Friendly and kind staff as well as volunteers. Check website for the exhibits and what's happening as it changes often.
Harrison Martin
A fun experience for young kids. A lot of different things to do. Not worth the price of admission for adults. Price should be lower by at least 50%.
Ashley A
This is a wonderful place for children it is a place where kids can be kids and learn a lot along the way its also fun for the parents to be able to interact with their children on such a large scale imagineasians can run wild in this place the price is also affordable it's not to bad so that's always a plus will definitely be back when ever we are back in town
koiiyaa
Went on a field trip w my classmates here! It was very fun, but don’t let the 4d movie fool u, the glasses don’t actually work it’s just the movie.
malissa greathouse
Very fun and super educational. Gift shop was reasonably priced as well as the cafe. And the food was actually really good.
Alexis Gross
Kinda crowded but very fun. My son enjoyed every part of it! Our favorite was the Fire truck and the Space theme.
Patricia Jones
It's an awesome place to let the kids go to run and play and not have to worry about the temperature or the weather they have snacks and drinks for you to buy
Gina Ware
Very fun for my boys, but hard to keep up with everything when there was about 2 or 3 different schools there running all over the place. Not the facilities fault though.
Shantel Sam
We visited on late October and we were happy we did. Although some of the exhibits were closed due to renovations, my 5 y/o was able to enjoy most of the museum and he had lots of fun. My almost 10 y/o child was not too impressed. The staff is very helpful and kind, the building is kept cleaned and organized and the exhibits are well kept and provide educational value to the visit. Although Edventure is 2 hours away from home, I would say that I will visit again.
Chucky Z
wonderful place to spend time with your kids. there are places for 1-3 yrs olds and 3+. There are planes, arts and crafts, firetruck, library, grocery store, farm and more.
Eulonda Williams
Attended a birthday party. My 8,9, and 12 year-old children were the oldest there and had a great time.
Autumn in the Lowcountry
My 7 year old daughter and 3 year old son had so much fun! Of course my favorite was the activities we got to do (crafts)!
Kylie Cardinet
We have a membership here and love coming. My 3 year old talks about it regularly and looks forward to our visits. Many times we spend all our time downstairs and never make it upstairs because it’s so much fun. A great variety of activities! I will say that it is only “surface clean” and even that is generous. The dust bunnies are in no short supply. Everything could use a good vacuuming, corners and edges especially, windows wiped, shelves dusted, and walls scrubbed of fingerprints and grime. I like to stop in the bathroom on my way out to wash hands with soap but it’s best to keep my eyes closed…I feel cleaner at times just using a bacterial wipe than having to go in the restroom. However, while the cleanliness is not to my standard it is a great place to take my kids to run around and play and burn some energy. I have to also consider that for such a large facility that is meant to be hands on, it can be reasonably hard to keep up with everyone coming through. With the normal price of admission it couldn’t hurt to hire a few more able hands to get this place cleaned up and better maintained! If I had the time I’d come here and clean myself!
Becca
My daughter loves this museum. However, could stand to improve in organization. I prefer Discovery Place Kids in Charlotte because things are much more organized and clean. I think what makes EdVenture stand out for children is the huge model of Eddy, which is like an educational jungle gym of the human body!
Randy Rowland
Lots of fun for children and adults!
Nicole English Harris
Love taking the kids here! Educational and fun, that's a double win in my book!
Dominique Nolan
During this pandemic time, this was a GREAT day! We are from NY and just happened to be nearby and were able to easily reserve tickets online (covid requirement). Clean! Hand sanitizer stations everywhere, and even "Drool Bins" for any items that may have gone into a little ones mouth! Very clever. There was so much to do and my 3yo son loved running from one activity to the next! We enjoyed our visit and will definitely try to come again next time we are in SC!
Michelle Beach
EdVenture is so much fun! It's always clean and the staff is friendly. Eddie, the giant kid/playground is a neat feature where kids can play and learn at the same time. It's nice having a place the at kids can run around, play and learn all at the same time. Food at the cafe is reasonably priced and surprisingly delicious! The cafe also has a small carousel that kids can ride over and over again for one price. My kids are 7 & 9, and still love EdVenture.
Ashley Windham
My family lives Edventure. We go at least once a year. The staff are friendly and the facility is always clean and easy to navigate
Ellea LeBlanc
I work for a foster group home and the front desk was so kind and made my girls feel so welcome and normal! It was so cool to see teens that didn’t have a great childhood just get to be kids! Also my 4 year old is non verbal and they had someone there dressed as Spider-Man and he was so gentle and kind to him! Can’t say enough good things it was amazing we will be back!!
Angela&Drew whipple
Fun....but no security for lost children in the Eddie Exhibit.. little chaotic
Pat Keebler
My granddaughters were visiting from Miami. We took them to EdVenture and they had a blast! Very fun and educational! Their Dad works for Publix and the Publix Market activity was so fun for them and Daddy was great at restocking the shelves! They had a great time exploring Eddie as well. They were never bored and enjoyed all the activities!
Nyce C
This museum is wonderful! It is so interactive and made me as an adult excited to try certain activities! I LOVED the flight simulator and climbing through Eddie was pretty amazing. My kids were able to see the placement of their organs and their excitement was unmatched. EdVenture, we will see you again soon!
No Ma’am!
Had my son's 6th birthday party here & it was awesome!!! The staff was great & very attentive!... The jus kids had too much fun!!
Mary Baker
Loved it! So much hands on kids can see and do and learn! Plan to be here ALL Day and it's so worth it!
Alexis
Always so much fun to be at this museum! Even for me!!
Brittni Nicholson
My son loves this place, but we don’t go as often as we could because it’s not very clean.
We are living in a pandemic. The workers should be cleaning and sanitizing more.
Lindsey McCarthy
Interactive experience, great for all ages, we went in September and the covid policies were in place. We really enjoyed our time. We were visiting from Greenville SC
Sandra Hines
My granddaughter had a wonderful time exploring the museum! This was our first time here but we plan on coming back soon
Candice Brown
My kids had an amazing time. We will definitely be visiting 😊 again soon!! …
Scott Rosene
Had a good time here with my 9 year old. Took us about 2-3 hrs to do everything. Especially enjoyed the science lab and the paper airplane launcher.
James Price
Good educational place to bring the kids. They will have fun.
Cassandra Rawlinson
Enjoyed our time!! Staff was friendly and informative. Book ahead to allow for COVID-19 new precautions... it is also plenty of stations to remains germ free.
Yvonne Davis
Grandkids love it! Clean! Now there is no place serving food which is the only negative thing. So I would pack a picnic lunch and eat in parking lot. They have a cafe but it is never open.
Nancy Gibbons
We arrived at opening time. The bathrooms were dirty and so were the floors. The airplane seats on the second floor had water inside them.
The exhibits were very good, but not clean.
Natalie West
Great, great, great! We spent a few hours there, and it wasn't enough. My two year old loved the toddler room and pretend grocery store. My three and seven year olds loved the tractor exhibit and the climb-through anatomy playground.
KEVIN Hooper
I was completely shocked as well as a bit embarrassed at the condition of this highly touted attraction. I would like to start out by saying the concept and vision of EdVenture is wonderful. My granddaughter did enjoy herself, it was a great alternative for something fun to do indoors on such a hot summer day…..however, to put it bluntly, this place was filthy. This is a hands on experience for kids and everything was sticky and very dirty. Bathrooms were comparable to a roadside gas station. Hand sanitizers were empty. The grime could not be ignored as it was so, so obvious wherever you looked. The dust that covered Eddie alone shows you this place has not been cleaned in a very long time. The WisTV area was outdated, sticky and just plain dirty. I touched a few of the knobs only to pull my hand back in disbelief. We are coming out of a pandemic so this added to my disbelief over seeing this place so dirty. I did see employees, all appeared to be young, making me think of summer camp interns. Only the two at the front entrance were doing anything. The others were just talking and visiting amongst themselves while two others were sitting and occupying a section of the 3 and under play area. I don’t know if they were supposed to be there to monitor the children and their safety or not, if that was the case they were not engaged at all. Only talking intently with each other, engrossed in their own conversation, oblivious to what was going on around them. Fortunately all the children were being monitored by their own parents as I am guessing is usually the case anyway. This place really needs some TLC. Deep cleaning, fresh paint and repairs. This was our first and more likely than not, our last trip to EdVenture. If you go I would advise you to bring your own wipes and hand sanitizers. I am not someone who had a pandemic phobia, I only wore masks when it was required so for me to be leaving this type of review is telling.
Ashley Nichole
Looooved this place. Unfortunately it seemed on the website the "Eddy" exhibit had been closed but re opened for maintenance. It wasn't open. Still had a great time here and will come back next time we are in the area!!
Kristen Ambrose
This was a neat place for the kids to explore and play. If you have a baby in your group I suggest baby wearing. The big boy that they explore is on different levels and you can't really take a stroller.
Cristina Groves
Absolutely loved it! My children (10 and 3) and I enjoyed every bit of the museum. The exhibits are fun and educational. Lots of places for photo ops. We were there for 2 hours but we could have stayed longer. It started getting crowded so we left earlier than I anticipated. We'll definitely be returning soon.
Toni Lyn Coleman
The girls were living their best life here !! So many awesome children learning centers and activities!!
Danisha Williams
Me and my children first time here. We had so much fun. My 16 yr old twins thought it would be boring but little did they know they was running around too lol definitely bring your camera or cellphone to record and take pics. Definitely going back again on a warm day this time
George Faircloth
Jaycee had fun roaming around this large complex. Several of the attractions we're not working properly or had very little supplies to play at an exhibit. Such as, the Diner had few dishes and food.
Eli Williams
This place was super cool for the kids and myself. It's visually appealing and so much to touch and interact with. Iron man was even there for spring break.
David Van Milligan
Nice place. Interactive kids museum mainly geared for elementary age. Clean and well done. It could use more attractions but the ones they have are good. Set up well for field trips, home schooling and classroom offsite learning.
Cheryl Dennis
Lots to keep toddler busy, however hand sanitizer stations were mostly empty and toys needed a good cleaning, especially the super large Legos. Please run through the dishwasher soon!
Really appreciated the backyard room for under 3's with the gate and age appropriate large motor equipment.
Lyzz Stark
Super fun for kids 10 and under! Lots of walking and running around to do.
Tim Audett
The kids had an absolute blast! Very cute place to bring the most curious of children! Fun activities and they even have a nice play area for kids 3 and under. Would definitely go again!
Jenny Prather
My 5 year old daughter attended the spring break day camp and had a fantastic experience. She is an observer, and typically takes a while to warm up to new people and surroundings. This was our first experience using a camp type situation other than her daycare/pre-school. She loved all the teachers and counselors, and was excited to tell me about all of her activities and creations each day. On our last day she told me she wanted to turn back time and do it again. We will definitely look at camps in the future.
Srinivasulu Atthi
Our 5 yr old kid enjoyed here to the fullest pretending as a doctor, as a fire fighter, as a chef, as a news reader. Lots of things to play and can spend up to 3 hrs easily
Hailey Mackey
Great place to go. Your kiddos will love the many things they have to do there. They have water activities, magnetic activities, paper planes activities, big Legos, crafts, shopping center, mini restaurant, apple picking, getting eggs from the chickens, fire truck, tractor, news room with live videos, library room, Ect
Julie Poole
My 5 year old grandson loves to go to EdVenture. There are lots of fun things to do. We got a membership and we've gone enough times that made it well worth the cost. My only criticism is that it is not clean and some things are startng to look shabby, especially the grocery store. The museum is dusty and the bathroom we went into yesterday had only 1 working light. Most of the stalls were too dark, and the child height sink didn't work, no paper towels, and hand dryers were out of order. I don't know anything about the museum's funding, but they have obviously decided the can't afford janitorial services and regular maintenance. I understand that things get well worn, but not keeping the facility clean is strange.
Ricketta Yahr
Took my five children aged 17-2 and everybody had a fantastic time there's a little bit for everybody and as an adult I had a good time too definitely recommend to anybody with or without children.
Brad
My 3 kids had a great time here. So many different areas to play and interact in, they could never get bored. The huge Eddie is really impressive, I was blown away at the size of it! Everyone there was friendly and attentive to the stations
Ajwanae Augustine
Loved it very fun for kids 12 and under
Julia Nikitina
My daughter loves spend time in the museum. It has everything for kids : playground, rolling games, firestation.
Fiona Adeniji-Adele
Great place for kids to visit. They learn and have fun while doing it.
Laur Pearson
Absolutely LOVE the concept for the museum and wish we had a place more like this in Central Florida! Also appreciate that they make it accessible for military families and low-income families, who may not otherwise have access to museums, cultural showcases or family excursions. Between the arts and crafts activities, STEM labs, career centers, amazing kids library nook (with top notch books for a quiet reading break in the middle of the day), the veterinarian play and games area, the traveling museum showpiece and a toddler center, all connected by a giant 3-story playplace of a little boy that introduces elementary anatomy and physiology (that the kids can use to move from one floor to the next in an amazingly fun way while Mom and Dad ride the elevator) - this place was made for kids and it shows!
With all that being said, I give this place 4 stars because it needs ALOT of maintenance work. The bathrooms need serious remodeling and most of the outdoor playground and butterfly garden (with only fake insects and missing fairies during the off season) appear in disrepair and are either inoperable or in very poor condition.
The other major flaw in the experience is that a calendar of daily events was neither available online in advance, nor available at the front desk or posted in any centralized location, which resulted in us missing the majority of the labs and instructor-led activities until we stumbled upon a group as they were concluding their art class (around 2pm) and were informed by the museum lead of the remainder of the day's activities. So unfortunately, we missed out on some really neat activities that the kids would have loved, in lieu of playing a bit longer in less unique activities.
All in all, it was a day fabulously well spent and I, for one, am completely hopeful that the next time we come, it will be even better than the last. Can't wait to visit Columbia again and to continue taking the kids to EdVenture as they grow up.
Btw, thrilled about the remodel of the aerospace and technology section! And seeing the front of the airplane popping out of the building and the kids being able to take over the cockpit - so cool. And loved the quotes - inspirational.
Jean Young
Wide variety of things to appeal to wide range of kids. They learned without knowing they were learning. Brought out their imaginations as well as kept them active. They were never bored.
Nettie DarkLunaScorpio Robinson
So much to do the kids had fun the food was good also the atmosphere awww as friendly and we learnt alot!!
Sami Wiegner
My husband and I were impressed by how many activities were available for all ages and interests of children! I think we had as much fun as my kid. The front desk staff was super friendly, pleasant and helpful in telling us which exhibits might interest our toddler. All exhibits were tidy, well-kept, clean and "Covid-conscious." Some higher-contact items were "play quality" and well loved, but for the most part everything was really nice and appealing. The price was very reasonable and affordable for the terrific quality. We will definitely be back!
Joshua Whitehead
My kids always have a blast when they are here, just wish some parents would actually watch their kids instead of lets their kids act like hooligans.
Xaque Williams
It's a really cool place for kids and adults if you enjoy hanging out with your kids. It's big and has a lot of activity. The new plane simulator was a big hit as well as the news room
Amanda Rae Cobb
This is the perfect place to bring young kids for imaginative and creative fun!
Kristin Dobes
Such a neat place. We've been for field trips and personal trips. Something for all ages!
John III
Great place with so much to do for kids and parents. The exhibit are made for kids but big enough for parents to play on.
Patricia Dunbar
I brought a friend of mine grandkids there and they loved it!
Shellie Stinson
So much fun. We attended a birthday party here, and then the children explored with their parents. Absolutely wonderful exploring and imagination opportunities.
Linda Velilla
We took our 3 yr old neighbor amd had a blast! This is a fun playplace
Scott Moeck
Great place to take the kids . Tons of great exhibits for the kids to play with and learn.
Ivet valencia
Great interactive musuem for children. The giant Child was amazing to look at and climb
Peter Does
Friendly staff, they keep the museum clean and neat, plenty to do including climbing inside Eddie, the world's largest child. You could easily spend the whole day here and still have a hard time getting your child to leave! Can't beat the price of admission and located right on the river, I loved it.
K H
I want to be a kid SO bad!!! This place looks like the coolest place in the world from a kids pov
Kathy Owen
Very disappointed when we were there yesterday. The play areas are run down and many are missing pieces so they do not work.We were there a week ago and there was a “snow ride on an inner tube “ which was great but today the inner tube was gone and bean bags were in its place. It was horrible as they would not slide at all on the surface. The super market play area is a great idea however All of the food items were on the floor and the shelves were bare. You could not push a cart for all the food on the floor. One of the plane simulation games was broken.I could go on and on. I think they need to shut down and renovate. And why are adults charged? Our kids deserve so much better, especially at these prices!!!!
Jamie McCann
Lots of stuff for the kids to do! Could be a little more clean, but the kids loved it.
Harley Cooper
Our two year old had a blast we recommend going during week it's less crowded and the kids play with stuff more and take their time .
Jerel Greene
Fun friendly employees. Lots to do for kids
Evan Kilpatrick
Wow!!! We drove in from Atlanta, and were not disappointed! This place was absolutely amazing! We enjoyed several hours of non-stop fun!
Chrissie Steele
My children absolutely love it here, they can get out some energy playing in a climb through hidden playset in the giant statue of a boy, strengthen there minds with the small activities and things they have in each section of the place. Plus get hands on making some crafts. Enter fee is awesome if child has Medicaid then it's only $2. So not too expensive. There front staff people have always been super nice.
mc Molicari
My son loves this place, it needs a little more attention to their house keeping.
Walton Boys
So much fun and so many different activities for your kids
Rebecca Otts
Fun place for kids! I love that they have a section just for 3 and under!! Lots of ways for kids to have interactive play experiences!
Michelle Dean
Great time for a 6 year old!
Katsumi Kaotic
Very fun for my 3 year old daughter. Definitely best to try and go during less busy times though if your child is on the smaller side
Stacy Warne
Awesome experience for my three kids! They had a lot of fun going to each activity.
Jamie Smith (MarauderLive)
This place is amazing! The majority of the staff are friendly and helpful. It's nice to see more staff out and about cleaning exhibits and the museum as a whole. The whole team is really stepping it up lately!
Robert Morse
Had so many things for kids to do. It was great & very thoughtfully done. Every thing was quietly educational.
Selma Hernandez
My 3 yr old had so much fun. He didn't wanted to leave.
Elizabeth Lauren DeFrenn
Love the children's museum! So much to do and always so clean!
Benjy Smith
Very good, a lot of fun for my 3yo but some things weren't working, hand sanitizers were out, 3 out of 4 bathroom faucets weren't working, difficult to read some descriptions because they were worn out ect. Overall a fun time but could've been better.
Ashley Granger
My son was excited about this because he saw it on Blippi. We were visiting family and decided to go. It's not super expensive, but if you live in the area, you should definitely get the membership because you would save a lot of money. The displays are great, but my son's favorite part was climbing inside Eddie, which is a little nerve-wracking because they're climbing all over the place and you can't see them, but there are only a couple of entrances/exits.
Cody Day
Some equipment is outdated and worn. Otherwise a great experience for the kids.
Krystal Hill
This place is quite a bit of fun. My 1 year old had a blast. They have activities for all ages. There is an activity room upstairs for ages under 3. We'll definitely be back. I bet this place is a lot of fun when they're open at full capacity with classes etc.
We went during the week so it wasn't busy at all. For the most part people were wearing masks (there's always a few everywhere you go that don't). I felt safe letting my little one run around. They have hand sanitizer throughout and bins to put the toys that have been drooled on so they can be cleaned. Of course my little man found the outlet that had a plug in it. So watch the toddlers behind the puppet stage in the library room.
Laird Culver
Great place to take the kids to get them out of the house. Some exhibits could use some TLC, but all exhibits appear safe and in good working order. Games for all ages exist and had I known there was a huge battleship game I would have come earlier to play a game. Food available on premises with a nice gift shop. I would recommend this to any parent or grand parent with kids to entertain. Will visit again when I come to see the kids.
Kameelah Khaalid
Lots of fun for the children. I enjoyed the experience as well.
T Lomax
Wonderful place! Not only did my boys have the best time (they recognized the place from the Blippie show and were so amped to go) but we had an amazing time as a family. It's very clean with tons to do to stimulate your child's imagination. It'll make any parent feel 7 years young again as well. What a great place to make memories. We can't wait to go back!
Also, if you receive public assistance (ie: food stamps/ebt) you can receive a discount on admission. Their willingness to make this wonderful place affordable to every child is fantastic!
Chante Simone
The kids had a good time but some of the exhibits need some TLC and updating. Also, quite a few of the hand sanitizer dispensers were empty.
Regina Crump
My 3 and 8 yr old grandchildren and I had a most enjoyable time browsing thru all the exciting experience rooms at the museum. We spent hours there and the staff was always congenial and available to answer any question we had. I was only disappointed that the butterfly garden was so desolate and void of butterflies. I'm looking forward to returning again to continue our adventures at EdVenture!!
Felecia McCalla
Absolutely AMAZING. Kids friendly. Family oriented. Alot of activities for the kids. My 2yr old really enjoyed himself
Stephen Joiner
We took our 4 year old grandson today and we had an awesome time and made some wonderful memories. The interactive elements had all three of us excited and engaged. This is a must for young children and you can even have lunch alfresco on a roof top. I would highly recommend this place.
Ashley Kramer
I went with my child's class for a field trip. They had a blast. I wish they had had someone explaining things and how they work but overall it was educating and a great time for the kids
Jenny Bodnar
Decent kids museum. Many exhibits were missing parts or broken and the museum overall was a bit dirty and not well maintained.
Teresa Callaway
I took my 5 grandchildren ranging in age from 5-16 yrs old. We all enjoyed it. Great place for exploring a variety of things.
Carol Gowans
Greatest place for kids to experience adult things. They can shop in the market, be a pilot on a plane, fun experiences.
Robert Dunbar
Fun and great place for the kids...lots to do
Brittany H
Awesome fun. Admission offers discounts for SNAP/EBT members. Spent a good 2.5 hours with a 9 year old and an almost 2 year old and both had a blast. My 9 year old loved telling the news (there were zombies) and my toddler loved grocery shopping! Both loved the firetruck.
Daniel Martinez
Great place for kids to learn and burn out some energy.
Kristen Ault
Good place. My kids had fun there, to. Eddie at the top creeps my oldest though. Probably because the shock noise up there. Her favorite part was the store part. My oldest stayed in the store for HOURS. And I mean HOURS. She was a stocker in it. My littlest loves the news part. Cameras and all.
margie watts
We attended the sensitive santa event for the third year in a row! Always an awesome time with lots of fun and smiles! Santa and ms clause are the best they are always nice and very understanding and actually care about the kids
Dav Mar
Great for kids to go explore something safe around other kids
John Ross
Edventure is an exciting place for children. Lots of activities, opportunities to test limits, and learn. Some of the interactive areas need to be expanded or time limits placed so more people can enjoy them. Some areas were not open.
Christine McMillan
Not my favorite place but pretty good. Went because of a wind tunnel wings simulator exhibit that is no longer there. Kids liked it okay. My older kid enjoyed the grocery store and pizza shop the best. My younger son liked the fire truck and the elevator. The giant boy in the lobby made me instantly claustrophobic and when my younger kid slipped away and ran into the interior I quickly realized that I would not be able to get him out of something went wrong. Thankfully he came right back out, saying it was creepy inside.
Derrick Fontes
This place is awesome for kids from toddler and up. My kids enjoyed so many different activities and the best part for them was getting to milk the cow (which is fake but still fun).
A Cavnar
It's OK! We like the The Children's Museum Upstate better. There were empty soda bottles everywhere. We got there when it opened so they had to of been there a while.
B “Mr. Wiz” Floyd
Took 4 small kids. They had a blast.
Dennis Dickey
Great educational museum for kids 2-10 years old.
Champ Anderson
It was awesome. The kids thoroughly enjoyed it. They now think they are suppose to go everyday.
Holly Smith
Definitely worth the 11 dollars to get in. The kids loved it. Tons of activities. Also my favorite part was in the younger kids play area there is an area for moms to nurse while watching their kids play.
Dr. Sam Messina
Amazing place for kids off all ages! Only reasoning for 4 stars is because it could be a little more clean. They have a fun area for kids under 3 years old, which is great! Knowing kids these age are on the floor a lot it would be nice it they kept the floors well vacuumed. Other than that they have friendly staff, new exhibits, indoor and outdoor activities! Great for really hot summer days when you want to be in the AC.
Rhonda Sheffield
The Disney characters were neat. Our favorite was Princess Tiana and she was beautiful. Our only regret was that we were not able to get a picture with her.
Marshall Turbyfill
While this is not a venue I often frequent, for children it is a must see. The great thing is for children is that they can climb on things and learn lessons of how things work and run around and scream until they run out of gas. If you want to entertain your children while ensuring they are safe and secure they will enjoy all of the exhibits and you will enjoy the rest.
holly cox
Always a fun time here! Everything is clean and well managed. So many rooms to encourage imaginative play. Also great for birthday parties!
John Baley
Definitely worth a drive! The four story model of a six year old that allows kids to play in tunnels corresponding to actual human biology is incredible! Full size airplane cockpits and fire engines round out the show, with a bunch of related activities and specialty rooms. Great spot!
Debra Holz
Fun....even for adults! Our little one loves this place so much!
Donna Young
Granddaughter 2yrs,grandson 11yrs..
Both had a very good time..I wish they spoke about the extra classes on the different floors. I was not aware of it,till i poked around the website. Please Bringng back interactive music display.
Only negative, to many products broken or just plan not working..
Jonathan Beckley
Could've been a lot cleaner. Not their fault, but some of the people that go there are rude and annoying. They stood around talking like they never get out and see people amd don't watch their child like it's a daycare service instead of time to explore with your child there and others just flat out don't care if you and your child are playing at am exhibit and shove you out of their way, maybe because they think their better than everyone else? News flash! You're not.
Cathy Sollars
My granddaughter loved everything today. She wants the come back tomorrow
Karen Landry
An experience that successfully mixes fun with learning. The children are able to use their imaginations while learning through role playing, expending physical activity, reading, and creating. We were enjoying each exhibit at our leisure, we were unable to experience the entire museum in our 2 hour time constraint. Definitely be returning, the children had a blast !
The staff is amazing! Very friendly, helpful and approachable ! Thank you, a definite must Do with the children!
Glynnis Hill
My daughter had a blast. She enjoyed every exhibit. I appreciated that each exhibit was hands on. There was something to do around every corner and behind every door. We had a great time.
Alise S
Had a party there and it was great!! The staff was helpful and extremely pleasant! The city views from the party room are very nice!!
Nicky Santoro
My kids had a great time here - not many places like this in town.
Aliana W
My son and lil cousins had a lot of fun!
Tabatha Xavier
Amazing and if you get government assistance you get a discount. I paid $6 for 2 kids and myself! Very fun day.
Teresa Hynson
This is always an enjoyable place for my grands. They have been enjoying Edventure for the last 4 years. Very clean, including the bathrooms. Worth the $12 price or the $129 membership.
Gladys Stone
Supper nice place we had a great time
Jereme Hardy
Our three year old really enjoyed it, but our eight year old was bored. There really isn't enough here to engage an older kid. We were disappointed that despite the large outward appearance of the building, there really wasn't much to keep our kids occupied for an extended time. I had expected to spend half a day here, but we struggled to stay more than an hour without revisiting areas.
I don't really agree with the pricing, either. We paid for two adults and two kids, but after our experience, I wondered what exactly it is the adults are expected to enjoy? It's not like a science museum where people of all ages are encouraged to interact with the exhibits. There's nothing for a parent to do, other than follow the kids around. Certainly, most of the crawling areas can barely accommodate a grown man like myself. Overall, I think the experience was overpriced.
Annie Almy
Awesome place! Everything is interactive. The kids get to learn about how a lot of things we do everyday actually work. The staff is friendly and helpful. The people they have doing the "learning stations" need customer service training!!! Badly! Very rude and unwilling to help. This was the only time we had a bad experience with employees. Overall, the kids have a lot of fun. Enough so that we joined fir the year.
Nichole Boerner
My littles absolutely love this place. I wish there were more "hands on" educational and sensory places like this around. Maybe we could get some more children more interested in life rather than that of electronics.
Christina Baines
We went on a Saturday so it was definitely super busy, the place is really cool though. It seemed all the kids were having a blast. We have a toddler so we spent most of our time in the toddler section. Unfortunately there were several older kids (7-10 years old) in this area intended for tots. At one point two of the older boys started fighting over a toddler toy...it was just a lot. My only recommendation would be maybe have a staff member in this area on busy days to ensure rowdy older kids don’t trample the little ones. For older kids though, this place is awesome.

I brought my children to Edventure yesterday while visiting my family in Columbia, SC and had an absolute blast. My girls did not want to leave. The employees were wonderful, friendly and welcoming. I met Ms. Marge, a frontline representative (admin), whom I talked to on the phone prior to visiting because I had some concerns about the cleanliness of this facility after reading some reviews. She assured me that they're doing everything in their power to provide the safest environment for the guests. Keeping in mind that kids are climbing all over the place and masks were mandatory, Edventure was very clean and full of a variety of activities for kids to enjoy. I highly recommend Edventure. Fun!!!
Terence Still
Really amazing for children. A bit weird with the statue placement for the adults watching their kids. Kids can go up and down it quickly without parents being able to catch up quickly.
Jessica 268
My 15 month olds had a blast here. They loved the grocery store and the toddler room. They spent 4 hours here and they could have probably stayed for another 4 if I let them.
Raq C
So much fun! It's obvious there's normally even more to do but they have taken some activities down due to covid. They have staff collecting frequently played with toys to sanitize as well as other staff set up throughout with different activities planned for your little ones.
AD M
We came on a Saturday so the place was pretty busy. We brought a just turned two-year-old. While I thought the place was pretty neat, I feel like it was a little bit too grown up for my grandchild. Especially since there were a lot of older kids running wild and the two adults cost over $30 to get in. Will probably wait another two years to bring him again.
Anna Jones
Such an amazing place for children. Came here for my 7 year old twin daughters school field trip and we had an absolute blast. I don’t know why but my favorite parts were the little real-like grocery store they had, the real-like airplane and the big building blocks on the second floor. All of the children really enjoyed themselves and it was well worth the hour drive from Augusta. Will be returning this summer when school is out.
Michael Hall
Two year old son had a blast. He found a friend to play with and the experience was wonderful. As a pilot and former volunteer fire fighter, the exhibits were great. Only problem was that the thrust levers on the 757 didn't advance for takeoff.
HappyBullDog
Loved it, great fun and learning experience for your child. Ours had hours of fun. A lot of stuff still does not exist due to Covid and the price is a little high for what they have. But this is for the kids. They have fun and learn no matter what.
Madeline Schoolfield
My son loved this place! The giant kid in the middle with all the light and sounds was creepy and scary. My kid would go anywhere near that thing. Personally as an adult I found the whole anatomy slides playground less educational and more mad scientist gone wrong. Otherwise the other areas are awesome. My son loved everything from the grocery store to the fire truck even the big light bright was a blast! Can’t wait to take him again.
Bridget Gass
EdVenture was Absolutely an Awesome Experience for my granddaughter; she learned whilst playing, and Enjoyed herself Immensely! The activities offered real life experiences, of which she will forever remember. The staff were Very Knowledgeable and Everything was Exceptionally maintained. As an educator social worker, and entrepreneur, I have Recommended EdVenture and will Endorse EdVenture to my Family, Parents, and Colleagues. Continued Success! Thankfulness floods my heart!
SilverBakAmilli_ Sba
Perfect place for autistic kids just a little over senserory
Christine
We love going here as a get away from the heat or cold. It has something for kids of all ages.
Christina Madle
Has something for everyone. My kids could of lasted from open to close they were having so much fun. I brought a 1.5 year old, two- 3year olds, 6 year old and 9 year old. All were so sad to leave. Food place isn't that great but your able to leave and come back so we went out and grabbed a bite to eat. Places for adults to sit and let the little ones run. So many different cool rooms! Only thing I didn't like was the outside areas. Just no where as nice as the Raleigh area location. The staff is so sweet and helpful. Even the gift shop was well priced. I got my daughter a coloring book that color would only show up on the page for 5$. Going back tomorrow cause the kids keep talking about.l it.
Sarah Caldwell
Staff was working consistently to keep things clean. The science "classes" and other shows were perfect for little growing brains. The food was all very good. And the 3 hour time window was perfect to see everything, play, and explore.
STEPHANIE H
My son loves this place! He has a blast!
Corey Potter
The kids love this place every time we go. I also love that it is in the same parking lot as the museum. It is easy to come to Edventure for an hour, or to spend many hours hanging out. The cafe is surprisingly reasonable too, so it would be a great spot to spend the morning and then grab lunch. Excited to use our membership often this year.
Mary Jean Pasley
Our family had a wonderful time at the museum on Saturday! The Storybook Ball was a wonderful experience for all. I’m not sure who had more fun - my 4 year old granddaughter or the rest of us watching her burst with excitement seeing all her favorite characters. It definitely exceeded our expectations. Thank you.
Libby Emler
Great educational displays. We spent many hours here and had a great time. My daughter didn't even realize she was being educated she was having so much fun.
Everything was clean, even the restrooms. The pizza at the pop up cafe was surprisingly good. Everything was fairly priced.
Austin Barker
This children's museum was recommended to me by multiple people as the best in the whole southeast. Well, it was a nice experience, but I guess I'd rather be outside with the kids hiking than inside following a scripted play experience that was designed by "imagination architects" who design a play experience that kids will enjoy. "Edmund," the huge playplace, was the biggest attraction for my kids. They kept going back to it. Our kids are 2, 4, 7, and 8, and they all had a good time, but they would have had just as good a time going to a free local park, and I would be ahead 70 dollars or more. It doesn't take spending big money like this to entertain a child. Having said that, our boys really enjoyed the fire truck and the fireman outfits. They played there for fifteen or twenty minutes. Also, the grocery store occupied all our kids' attention for quite some time.
I guess I will agree that this museum is probably among the best children's museums, and definitely the best we've been to, which isn't saying much, I guess.
zelda armstrong
We took our grands to visit EdVenture Children's Museum today in Columbia SC. They really enjoyed themselves and they definitely want to go back again. They were all over the place. They wore us out! There was so many activities to do, even though some areas were closed because of Covid. We made memories with my grands today!
Katie Marsh
So the museum is a heck of a lot of fun. I usually have to borrow my little brother to go. The exhibits are engaging for kids, and interesting enough that even adults can have fun. The price is reasonable, especially for members, and the rotating traveling exhibit is always a treat. It's a bit small, so maybe an afternoon's worth (at least my 10 year old brother an I spent an afternoon). We did skip some of the areas that were meant for smaller kids, but it just shows how varied the exhibits are. I would recommend going in the spring and summer, the butterflies are gorgeous.
Maya Kostova
Great place for families with small children. Lots of activities for a whole day of fun.
Yolanda Dessus
We have a yearly membership place is nice for kids to touch n enjoy different activities. Can't wait for my grandson to be 15 months so we can take him
Candace Johnson
My son and daughter has a blast very fun and educational
Ameya Amritwar
Great for children under 5. They don’t want to come out. The giant boy with rides is a lot of fun !
yusuke urameshi
The memberships are a great value and it's lots of fun for kids.
Court
We had a blast! We have been to a few childrens' museum. One thing that stuck out t was the amount of classes available each hour. There were at least 6 classes. They happened so often, that we could have attended them all if we stayed longer. The food was fantastic! I had my first veggie burger. OMG!! It was mouthwatering! It was no more pricey than fast food, but much better quality. The exhibits were fun, as well. We will visit again.
Brooke Stout
Such a fun place!! I have loved going to EdVenture since I was a small child. The improvements and added exhibits over the many years have been wonderful. I now enjoy taking my nieces here for some fun and this is always on my list of recommendations for when friends or family with children come to visit! Definitely worth a visit.
Jess Glass
This place is an incredible gem in Columbia. Possibly the best children's museum I've ever visited. My four kids were all engaged and busy for the whole 6 hours we were there, and they could happily have stayed for hours more. If you have kids, this is a must-see in Columbia. If you live here, it's one hundred percent worth the membership!
P Blanco
It was everything I've read about and more. We spent over 5 hours there and can't wait to go another time. Staff was friendly. I saw constant wiping down and cleaning up. So many things to do and see. It's truly a place for children of all ages.
Sarah Ratajczak
So much hands on activities for kids, well maintained, and good education mixed with fun
Philip Hoang
Fun place to take your children. Our family love the craft area they provide there. Lots of learning and social skills they can pick up there also.
Monica Marshall
Love, love it and if you have a EBT card it's $2 for entry. There is so much educational and interesting things to do
Francesca Fludd
Items are a bit worn from all of the play it gets. My son had no complaints and he wanted to stay longer. Water play was great. Great to explain to my son what currents are and how the boat travels without a motor. Good learning experience overall
Mr Brooks
Our son Phillip 2 years old enjoyed himself the whole time even though this seems cater to 4 and up children it does have a 3 and under section which is nice as well. Half the labs and exhibits were closed due to covid but they still charge full price. Overall fun experience to take a child. They also offer a discount for those on medicade, wic, snap which is helpful to those less fortunate.
Tehseen Ahtaram
My children loved their summer camp! Truly grateful for such great innovating programs and teachers / leaders!
Jenna Chung
Unique, not as clean as we would like.
Margaret “Maggie” Boos
Incredible children's museum with a variety of exploration areas. Perfect for young children and families.
Rachelle Schadle
EdVenture is an awesome place to bring the kids they love it every time. They have stuff to do for little kids and bigger kids. Parking is free and they offer discounts for military, as well as families with WIC and EBT services.
Dionetra Lacey
Great place to take the kids! My 10 and 9 year old love playing with Ed! I enjoy the learning aspect and how the featured event changes every so often. They also have discounted rates for military and EBT holders. Overall great place with wonderful workers! I plan to visit the others in my state
Joseph Azar
Definitely a great place for children. Plenty to see and do. Plenty of hands on, and children are definitely hands on! This place invites hands on. They have classes for children, classes of varying nature. There is a large room downstairs that is very good for meetings with video screens and audio, and can hold around 100 or so. Soon there will be a cafeteria as well. A real asset for the community, and for parents too!
Dana Ohler
This was so much fun. My son really enjoyed it.
JRue Bob
Sign says must wear masks but 85% was not wearing them! Some exhibits closed and so was cafe. It was ok at best!
Ty Gray
Was in town for a few days and wanted to find something fun and educational for our two kids a d this place hit the spot. They had a great time playing through all the different areas and we even had a one on one educational session with one of the employees who did some matb puzzles with our kids. Great time and recommend to take your kids there.
Nefertiti Scott
Very fun experience for children!
Jeri-Lee V Real Estate
We loved this place! We flew in just to go here after seeing the Blippi video. My 4-year-old loved it, and there was lots for my 1-year-old to do and see as well.
Tax Betterman
Fun place for the kids, look into to extra activities at the front desk to make the visit more Edventous !
jimh1996
Very clean and organized. All displays/etc. were functional. Our kids did not participate in any "workshops" though they all looked nice, functional and staffed. Overall, our kids had a great time - will definitely go again!
Elite Pierre
As a retired Veteran, I enjoy the opportunity to spend more quality time with my family after 20 years of service. Our children asked to go to the Children's Museum, so my wife Tamara Pierre and I took our family (ages 5, 8 and 10) to EdVenture Children’s Museum and we all had an amazing time. My children's favorite activity is the Publix grocery store. They REALLY do enjoy shopping! (I wonder where they get that from!!! 😏)
I especially enjoyed playing hockey and interacting with all the children. At first it was just a couple of us playing, and before I knew it... there were 6 kids (of all ages) vs. ME!!! 😎 Don't worry folks... I got this!!
My 5 year old Elite Jr. (in the black jacket) is a very timid and socially awkward child. This was his first time playing such an aggressive sport with so many bigger kids. All the kids were very kind and helpful allowing him to take shots too.
After organizing a short game right before closing, the kids won 4 to 1. 😟
All of the parents of the other children thanked me for organizing the game and playing with the kids. One mother even pulled me aside and asked me to apply for a job to work as an Educator at the museum. She was so impressed by how I engaged with the children, she said, "I'd hire you in a minute!"
I applied for the position today! Wish me luck!
adam sturm
We had an awesome time here! It's definitely for kids, but it's fun for the adults too. Even the food was good. And cheap. We spent $25 on lunch for four. We will be back!
Janis Lynch
The places is awesome for the kids, they have few different rooms with lots of activities a big free play area and you need to expect maybe to be there more than 3 hours... well... that's was my case with 2 kids. They have sensory friendly time and you can find more information on Facebook about this sensory friendly time. Parking is free and you have on the front of the adventure museum the State Museum so basically if you have time you can visit both same day. They have Military Discount also.
Phillip C.
What a wonderful place for families to play and learn. Courteous staff and very well maintained areas. Many restrictions in place since COVID-19 pandemic, so expect limited play time and scheduled visits. Much of the items are removed so cleaning can be more efficient, but puts a damper on the experience. Masks are required, but accommodations can be made for disabled individuals and those with sensory concerns. Clean bathrooms both upstairs and down.
Michelle Ritchey
First time visiting and my children loved this. It's very neat. Definitely need to go and if you have food stamps they lower your ticket price to $2 so it's affordable for everyone.
A L
I will say this trip I was disappointed. The last visit it was clean and well kept. This time everything was filthy. The kitchen had almost nothing to play with, the Publix store was torn to shreds. We actually cleaned it up ourselves because it was that bad!!!! I didn't know I had to pay to have to clean up so the kids could play. No activity rooms had anything going on. There were older kids running around screaming with no regard to the smaller children. They were way too old to be playing here. List goes on. I hope it improves. It was a fun spot before.
Aimar Matos
Super fun for kids. You can make a day of fun out of it. There's a pecial area for kids under 4. For our kids the grocery store was the most fun.
Brenda Driggers
My grandson watches Blippi all of the time. He enjoyed doing the things Blippi did in his video.
Gwen Clarke
Great place to visit and host a birthday party 🎉 …
Nicole Freeman
We’ve got a membership, it’s a fun place to bring the kids, but definitely wish there was more for the older preteen crowd
Hyacintha Gordon
My children and niece and nephews really enjoyed themselves, even though we did not get to see everything they had. This is a lasting memory for them. We will definitely come back to see the rest of this facility.😀😀😀😀. I just wish they had more Time-slots for the work shops. …
Chris Mendiola
First time here. A lot of stuff for the kids to do and stay active. A few interactive displays and shows so that's pretty good. I didn't see a place to eat, but if there isn't, then that would be my only complaint. They offer birthday parties here, so I'm interested to see what they offer
Will O'Rear
Great place to spend a day with your little ones!
Shlonda “Mom on the Grow” S
Although its improved over the last couple of years, this place just needs an organized fashion to enjoy it. Its just chaotic! It is hard to grasp the educational component of the program. Children be like ants on a peppermint in July!!! The hand sanitizer stations were empty. Many displays were broken and some places had trash EVERYWHERE. My children enjoyed it, my own sanity survived. I think I'd go back, but it will never be on a saturday!!!!
Beki Graham
It has been a while since were here. It was fun to find some updated toys, replenished items, and the science classes were excellent. A great one in DNA!
Ellis Creel
For a place that's mostly frequented by rampaging toddlers, EdVenture is immaculately clean. I personally think some exhibits are better than others, but the children love each and every one. The staff is amazing. I think kids under 2 can do some fun stuff, but 3-5 will probably get the most out of it.
Sara Thren
I gave this museum 4 stars instead of 5 only because they made the children wear masks while there. I do not believe it is healthy or practical. It is a very hands-on museum and masks would not protect them from germs because of this. The kids could not fully interact at the museum because of the mask issue, so they will not return until this restriction is removed. We hope that is very soon, as they did enjoy themselves. Thanks!
Dean McCaughan
Great place for the family! You can get so much out of your time there. Definitely do the science class.
Brina “Juniper Berry” P.
Fun place. Several floors of entertainment. My son liked it more at the age of 6 then 4... the younger children can struggle with the science behind many of the tasks to fully appreciate their value.
Parking is free but as a parent/or accompanying adult you still have to pay for entry - full price for both.
You can leave for lunch just get stamped on the way out.
Water is possible ... markers are possible. .. I wouldn't dress them fancy clothes. There are places to play and crawl and climb so for little girls dresses may not work as well without something underneath. .
But that all being said, there were a lot of broken things. Upkeep is needed.
Nicholas Scofield
Perfect for children. Its interactive learning. The rooms have themes. Its a blend of adorable and modern. Staff is super friendly and approachable. The price point isn't scary but does encourage locals to become a member. Check out the view of the river while you are in that area.
Arthur Jackson
Everyone pays, even seniors. A family of 4 (2 adults 2 kids) will spend a little under $50 just to walk through the door. That being said, the kids LOVED this place! We spent over 4 hrs here and we didn't get to everything. There's a baby area for those not walking yet, and there's activities for making/building things for older kids. There's also a cafe area, not sure if they serve food or its just an eating area. Finally, the giant in the middle is functional. The kids can climb inside, we didn't realize this until the end. We wanted to play inside the giant longer. LOTS of fun.
Melissa
My 3 & 4 year old grandbabies truly loved Edventure! We stayed all day until closing. They wanted to stay "all night". lol
We're looking forward to our next visit!
Amanda Reyes
This children's museum has a variety of exhibits. We have a 13 yo and a 3 yo, and they were both able to enjoy the same exhibits because of how they are designed for different age groups to interact with the same material. I would recommend this museum for anyone looking to spend a fun, indoor-day with the kiddos in their lives!
Sonja Barton
My grandsons love this place. We've been going since they were toddlers. They still love it now that they're 8 and 11. Always something fun to do and new to learn!
Troy Ivery
Great place for the little ones to learn while having fun! Big Eddie will surely have your little one worn out in a couple of hours. We took our 9 year old the Flight exhibit, while he had fun we agreed it could have been better with even more airplane focused devices & a guide to explain to the children the different parts of the flight exhibit.
Kayla Baskins
We went for the 4th and had a blast. We made crafts, colored cards for the troops and climbed through Ed. The kids also enjoyed pretending to be & do all kinds of different things (driving, firemen, grocery shopping, etc) and they loved the huge board game area. The museum was giving out popcorn, so that was awesome and the kids loved the free play area and the water area.
There were only like 3 butterflies in the butterfly garden, and the Carousel Cafe could use some help. We were in a line of 5 people and gave up waiting after it hadn't moved for 20 minutes.
But all in all it was pretty cool. My whole family enjoyed themselves.
S. W. Hudson, III
Our children [10, 7, 4] love coming here! It's both educational and entertaining for them. The hands-on aspect is fantastic for them, but we usually stay away during cold and flu season. Highly recommend, just use sanitizer liberally and often!
Brent Tatum
I have a 6 and 3 year old. They both loved it and we spent around 5 hours there. Parking is free and easily accessible. The only part that's lacking is the outdoor water play area is far behind on repairs. Which is disappointing because it looks like it was really neat when everything actually worked. Don't let that damper the mood though. Definitely worth checking out.
Vicat Mauricio
This place is a child's dreamland! They have everything that kids would consider fun! There is a large full scale firetruck that kids can get in and pretend to drive... Along with fireman hats and real fire jackets they can wear to maximum role-playing! I can't imagine a child under 11 years old being bored here, there's just so much to do and learn. There's a small library for kids to read in, a pretend supermarket that has high quality props for kids to pretend shop in, there's also monitored activities and are fun and both educational. And that's just a small sample of all the fun things kids can do here.
The only real problem here is trying to get your kids to leave... Almost an impossible feat for a parent to accomplish. There's also a small restaurant in the building for snacks and full meals if anyone gets hungry. The small restaurant here sells mostly traditional American food like hotdogs and hamburgers, just FYI. The prices aren't bad either.
EdVenture does offer yearly passes which can save you money if you come here often like our family does. If you love having your small ones play as they learn, you just can't beat this very large kid's museum with a full two floor of fun!
Five Stars!!
Blob Fish
I have a membership here and it's an OK place to go, but not great. I understand that in a city with not a lot of indoor places for children things will get run down, but this place is filthy. The floors are disgusting and everything seems to have a film. It would be so much better if they had a good deep clean.
Melissa Chi
We brought our 1 and 3 year old here while we were evacuated during Hurricane Matthew and they loved it. I was very impressed by all the stations and exhibits they had there. It was very interactive and educational. It was also clean and everything was working. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to bring their kids someplace where they can learn and have fun. HOWEVER, I gave only 4 stars instead of 5 because the cafeteria was awful. We waited well over a half hour for a cup of macaroni and cheese and one order of French fries. It wasn't just us either. Many people were complaining and kept going up to the counter. People were getting their food out of order and servers were going up to tables with the wrong food. Another woman had said she had the same problem the day before also. It was such a shame because the rest of the place was so great. But it put a damper on the day. So, I would absolutely recommend the museum. Just maybe eat elsewhere before you come!
Jason Stemple
My 3 yr old loved the place! There were some things, or activities that were closed or did not work. But if you have little ones, they will have a blast... 11.50 a piece is not that bad either. You get a wrist band, so you can leave and come back.
Joshua Smith
A nice children's museum with a variety of different educational experiences for your child. The people working there seem very invested in the experiences. The two distinct differences from other children's museums that we have been to was Ed and their aviation exhibit. There were some lame duck areas such as the "fairies" and the cafeteria didn't even have a menu or menu board. Still appears to be a bit of a work in progress but a nice place to entertain and educate your children for a few hours.
Elaine Taylor
This is a great place to spend the day with the kids. There are a lot of educational ways for the kids to interact. My favorite this trip was the Boeing 747. It's a newer exhibit and it has the cockpit of an airplane where the kids can actually see outside of the window. The nose of the plane is constructed on the outside of the building. It's hard to explain. You have to see it to believe it!
Tara Truesdale
Such a fun place to bring kids! My nieces (both toddlers) love coming, and we love bringing them. Watching them explore and learn through curiosity is amazing! There is so much for them to do, and they are so comfortable playing and learning.
Miranda Kornegay
I haven't been to edventure in years but they have got new exhibits since I've been and the kids had a blast.
Albert Dooley
We stopped in on a rainey sunday at 2pm. It was crowded, but for good reason. They had some very creative and interactive exhibits. It was mostly aimed at younger children. We didnt do any shows, but we did every exhibit and spent 3 hours here. We could have stayed longer.
Safari Driver
Place has gone downhill from our last visit 4 yrs ago. Nothing was picked up, cleaned up, or any attention given to the areas occupied by large numbers of out of control camp kids. We brought a 5yr old & a 10yr old at 2pm and for what we paid and the mess we walked into was unacceptable. Each visitor should be able at 2pm to expect the same experiences availabe as the 10a arrivals. Clean up after the kids! Can't recommend you anymore, sorry.

If you're in or visiting Columbia (and you have children) I highly recommend this place. For what you pay for, you could very well stay here all day. I killed several hours in no time and my son was eager to take a nap by the time we left. The exhibits are really fun, they had the usual pretend supermarket and diner exhibit and areas specifically designed for small children. My son was really excited about the full size fire truck and dress up clothes that went along with it. Again, if you're looking to kill time before a lunch date or want a break from the heat and need a place to play in the A/C I can't recommend this place enough.
Tammy Williams
My son and daughter in-law had their baby shower there to make it kid friendly for the parents 💘
Kecr888 R
Lots of different hands on activities for all age children, good fit for a big family with different interests. Rotating exhibits mean something new for different visits. Staff is friendly. I recommend going on an "off" day as it can get a little overwhelming when the place is packed.
Jac David
The EdVenture Children's Museum is wonderful and educational. I love to take my kids because they have so much fun and also are learning too. The staff is amazingly helpful and kind. Awesome job keep up the great work because my kids enjoy it and so do I. 👍👍👍💝👍👍👍 …

This looks like a fun place to go to, so we brought our 3 year old granddaughter. We arrived on a Wednesday at around 11:30 am. There must have been a couple of field trips going on because there were a lot of 9-12 year old kids running everywhere. It was very crowded. The kids were loud, running and very pushy. My granddaughter tried to interact with some of the exhibits, but several kids were yelling and would push her out of the way. She couldn't enjoy most of the exhibits. After trying for about an hour we gave up, she was frustrated and unhappy. I didn't see any adults trying to get control of the kids. I would have mentioned this to museum staff, but it seemed pointless. We visited the Children's Museum in Greenville the day a efore and it wasnt as crowded, so we had a better experience. My suggestion is to call ahead to see if a field trip or tour is scheduled.
Other than than the museum itself was good. The one in Greenville has more attractions for under 5's.

Always a great experience for me and my little one!
Cheryl Glover
We loved it!
My granddaughter and I had a GREAT time.

Cafe is great. That's why I am giving this place 3 stars. Inside temperature of the museum was uncomfortably cold. It was a cold day outside, but the temperature inside wasn't much better than outside. We went midday on a Saturday and we were told that the doors open so much that the management can't really do anything to make the inside warmer. Throughout the museum, everyone was still wearing their winter coats, and most of them were still zipped. My children were pretty uncomfortable with the temperature. Beware the same thing applies when it's very hot outside, the manager on duty showed no concern or interest in this issue. As far as the activities available inside, there is no brochure, or map of the different areas, made available to patrons. You have to just wing it. The chaos is a bit overwhelming for the parent that likes to try to keep eyes on their children during outings. There's absolutely no security feature in place to keep your child from walking out the door without you. Like matching blacklight numbers that are used at similar facilities to prevent children from being abducted. The other issue that I have is that the facility is supposed to be geared towards elementary aged children. My girls were eight and nine years old (3rd grade), on this visit, and they were too old for more than half of the available activities. There was a small postcard size paper available as a hand out when we arrived. It had a list of features for the day. Special shows and such, but again... not enough information about the presentation, to know what the target audience age was, or even a real description of what the presentation was.
This facility is appropriate for parents of very small children (2-6), that live close enough to make a season pass worth the money. You would need to visit this place a few times to gather your own information about what each show is, where everything is located and what parts your children enjoy. You just can't get that from the museum, because they have not created the resources that most parents need for places like this.
My girls opinions were about the same. It was too young for them. They liked a couple of things (sledding, hockey rink, air suction tube that throws balls at you). We did stumble into one awesome activity, because we saw a bunch of medical people sitting at tables, and we needed a band-aid. There was a "pet checkup clinic" being held upstairs for stuffed animals. The goal was to pick out an animal, and then take it around to all of the different stations to get the animals ears, eyes, bones, etc., all checked out by "veterinarians". At the end, each child got a certificate health for the pet and the pet went back in the bin for the next child. However, the child got a little prize at each station, to take home. I remember a jump rope, water bottle, stickers, and the little box with a few bandaids and wipes! That's the last thing we did, and I am going to end this on that high note. Good luck parents!

This such a great kids friendly museum. Everything is hands on so the kids get such a treat out of it. My daughter loves climbing the fire truck, serving food in the grocery store (all pretend of course), and learning to be a builder in the blocks room. If your child is a tween, they are probably too old for this. My 12 year old was excited to go but decided he was too old when we got there. Of course, climbing through "Ed"'s body is a treat for the kids still. Your kids will love it.

We stayed over 3 hours my child had the best time.

A great day adventure with many different educational adventures. Food court had great food at reasonable prices, all staff was very friendly and there seemed like so much to do. Highly recommend if you have children and have never been!

Very educational and hands on learning for the children!!

This was pretty fun for the children... they had a good amount of activities...I just think it's a bit overpriced but if you live here it would probably be beneficial to get a membership. That's the only way I can see it being worth it. Went for a new year's celebration...the craft part helped balance out the costly entrance fee. Would return but will look for discount days!

We are members and went every Tuesday in the summer and stayed all day. My kids ages 6 and 4 would move into edventure if they could. The staff are friendly and helpful. They clean up the exhibits after the children (although I try to have my kids pick up after themselves). I'm not sure those with one star reviews even went to the same museum we did. The only thing to be aware of is the food selection is not very good so we always pack a lunch or leave to get food and come back.

I wanted to give it less than three stars but I realized the problem I had with it are mainly the fault that it didn't match the age range of my child. I would recommend this place for children between the ages of 3 and 5 maybe 6.
It was very disorganized, a lot of the areas or room work not open or if they were open they were not facilitated by staff. So there was no Direction , it was up to the parents to grab a bunch of random drunk and make it fun.

We had a lovely wedding reception on the Congaree terrace in the back of the building. Everyone we worked with was so helpful, kind, thoughtful, and professional. The space was beautiful, with views of the Gervais Street bridge and the river. We were able to get plenty of time to set up our decor and all the tables and chairs were set up for us beforehand. Overall a wonderful experience, I would absolutely recommend having an event here!

Always a hit for our son. There are so many interactive things for him to do. The shopping area, firetruck, creation stations upstairs. The new airplane cockpit. He always has a good time. We tend to go on Mondays so there isn't a crowd. Last time he was into the puppet show area in the kids library. Almost everything we go he does something new.

Quite expensive for what they offer. True, there are many things to climb on, and activities for young children, but usually when we go there are either too many misbehaving children to enjoy it, or the simulators / computers are down, or pieces are missing from the games. Fun the first time, but after that there is very little to see. Even when they have seasonal events, the new stuff is only in one room and doesn't seem worth the inflated price. I personally am glad my children have outgrown this place because it's never been worth the admission price to go. :( Visit the planetarium next-door if you're looking for an alternative.

I've yet to visit a better children's museum for my 1 year old. A wide variety of experiments & toys are readily in an always clean environment. Plus, their membership price is exquisite.

Completely interactive place for kids, and there's so much to do. The three story "Ed" is great but the insides can be frightening to smaller kids. There's a s"sypermarket", library w/puppet show stage, fire truck & fireman's pole, "ice hockey" rink, "snow ball" shooter (rubber balls you can shoot at each other in a caged area), tubes with forced air that move fur balls, a TV studio, inner tube slide, veterinary area and more...and almost everything is included in admission price. The 1 missing star is for no cafeteria/snack place that we saw and some of the toys, especially in the veterinary area, are old/worn and need replacing. But otherwise it's a GREAT place for kids ages 2-7. Older ones might like it but much more stuff geared towards the younger ones

Cool children's museum in the capital of SC. Pretty much dislike all things Columbia, but this is an exception. Great layout with a wide variety of activities for all ages. Some of the outside water activities were not working but I suspect with all the use (because there were a lot of people there) this happens. Looking forward to going back.

Awesome place to take your kids. Reservation required & masks ages 3&up. Friendly staff. They have a Cafe that opens at 11 with a few menu items.

For my first time going with my daughter and Mom, I have to say I think I enjoyed it more than my daughter . It was absolutely amazing. The big boy that's sits in the middle of the museum. The different rooms and activities. The staffs curiousness was just amazing. We most definitely will return. Also with WIC benefits you get a huge discount ( must have your WIC card present) for me , my mom and Daughter was $6 !!! Its a steal !!

Family nights are the best! Dollar admission and we make sure we plan to come. They always a special exhibit upstairs and right now it is an airplane. My boys were hooked. They also had a mock mews room with cameras and the whole thing. The kids love this place and so do I!

I went with my grand daughters class. I've never been. Was great. Got to explore not much at all that was a disappointing point to myself. Got a 30 minutes in one room getting to try measures, & other obstacles. Then also learn little bout bank. Would of enjoyed science room but needed more time but was Blessed to be with my princess..😍 …

My kids LOVE the museum-its a great place for a rainy day or just for a change of pace. We’ve been members for 2 years, and love the permanent and rotating exhibits! It’s great for any age kids (and parents too!!)

This place is so great. The staff were the most engaging teachers! We didnt even get to explore the whole place but my kids loved it. Our favorite thing was the giant playground inside Ed!

My babies loved this place and the baby room. We cant wait to keep going as the older they get. This place was super cool and we loved it!
My mom did wipe down the childrens area and black stuff filled the baby wipes from dirt and yuck. Im hoping in the near future they decided to clean the matts and foam blocks because they where super dirty but another then that it was an amazing place

EdVenture is a lot of fun, not only for children, but adults as well. We took our son, and he absolutely loved it. He greatly enjoyed the flight simulators, and firetruck. He was not a big fan of the giant human body, but it was mostly because he was intimidated. We will definitely be back soon, and look forward to another great experience.

Took my niece to Edventure for her first visit as a toddler. She thoroughly enjoyed herself. Ed himself is a bit overwhelming for a small child but the grocery store demanded two stops. She had so much fun. We can’t wait to take her back.
