This place is awesome. They are open from 10am to 5pm, and there's plenty for the entire family to do. If you like antiques, the antique mall alone can take an entire day to go through. I didn't visit Jurassic Gardens this time but I spent pretty much open to close going through the entire museum and checking out some of the antique mall. There's games and an outdoor play area for the kids when the weather is warmer. There's some really cool movie cars on display and even snowmobile, boat, and bike exhibits. If you like military memorabilia they have a pretty well showcased section from various wars, there's a crime and punishment section that costs $2 extra and is well worth it. You'll get a lot of walking in so make sure to wear comfortable shoes. If you visit everything the museum offers you'll walk over 5 miles. I was really impressed with the way the cars were displayed by theme / era. Staff is very friendly and helpful. It's a drive from where I live but I plan on making it a point to come here at least twice a year if not more.

It's a really cool museum for all! Even if you're not a car enthusiasts you'll still appreciate everything that the museum has to offer. My only issue was there's a strong smell when you get to the Disney/kids area I don't really know how to explain it but also if you have allergies I would recommend taking meds as the military section can be a little dusty. Overall, it was a good experience! You can also check out their shops where they carry a lot of vintage/antique trinkets.

A trip to the Volo museum was well worth the hike from the city. This is an attraction for all ages. Whether you a car enthusiast or a kid who wants to see the cars featured in popular movies and Disney displays. They have old cars restored cards, bikes, mopeds, pedal cars, snow mobiles, vaudeville puppet shows, Disney figurine makers, the ninja turtle pizza van, the terminator car, Johnny cash guitar car, the Barbie cars, all in various showrooms for you to walk through. Ending in an old decorated styled pizza parlor. They’ve put so much thought into every detail!

Really a great attraction! There is something for almost any age group. We thoroughly enjoyed the old time carriages and campers as well as the scooter collection, so it's not just cars. Lots for little kids with the Disney character displays and then pizza parlor, candy, ice cream options etc. Great place! We will be back to browse the antique shops in site!

Such a great experience! There are approx 10 museums all with a different theme. Antique cars, cars from movies, Disney theme, music hall, tractors, war, vintage mobile homes, trains, and a torture/gangster museum. Something for everyone's interest. Easy to walk through everything in about 6 hours if you're looking in detail or faster if you're just breezing through. The coolest part was the vintage arcade games in the Disney part of the car museum. I also loved the music hall with all the self playing live band vintage music machines. Bring $1 or $5 bills to get tokens for some of the interactive parts of the exhibits. There are machines to change out for tokens but the majority are cash only. There is a little cafeteria with pizza etc at the start! There is a path to follow but besides the car museum you go from building to building so you can break away if you don't want to do all the museums in one day.

This place is so fun. So many interesting exhibits. It's just not cars! And the card that are on display are fun! Took us about 2.5 hours to explore and then 3 hours for the antique mall. We did not do the Jurassic land.

Really enjoyed it, and the price of admission isn't bad at all. Lots of interesting things to see. Highly recommend. We'll go back again next time we're in the area just to see their changes and new exhibits.

Very nice exhibit my kids loved it! The new park is great as well. However it is on the small side so a little over priced at $15 for anyone 5 and over it only took about 20 min to walk through. The food is also very expensive one we got 2 slices of pizza, and one hot dog and it was over $30.

Went for birthday. I enjoyed the experience very much. Different care designs and growing up as a kid, I remember watching TV shows and liking the different cars. Brought back a lot of memories that is for sure. It is difficult to navigate through the 58 acre museum with not the best signs. They have old school cars that are for sale as well. Overall, it was a great experience. They even have an antique mall which has many interesting treasure in there.

A super fun "car" museum, but with much more to do and look at! A variety of exhibits to keep the whole family entertained for the whole day! Plenty of cars to keep the auto enthusiasts focused all day too! A "don't miss"!

Being an old car nut, I enjoy walking around and seeing the different makes and models of cars. They do have quite a collection of cars that can be purchased if you have the money. The antique mall is also nice to walk around and find things that may interest you.

A little expensive for such an exhibition, but my son really liked it. Hot dog for 10$ also seemed overpriced, but the restored animatronic stage show smoothed the price a bit. Fun place for kids!

We love this place, have been there 4 times last year with the kids and they love all the cars. It also has the dino garden amd the antiques shop which is pretty cool too. Should stay there at least 3 hours to fully enjoy it

If I could give 10 stars I would! Was our first time there and was totally impressed! So much to see, and completely kept the attention of my 6 yr old! Food was good for what you could order. 😋 the entire building was so clean, and all the employees were super friendly and helpful. We were able to park in the garage, and was only $15 for the entire day! Over all worth every penny!!

My 11 yr old is so interested in animatronic bands from showbiz pizza and Chuck e cheese. We came for the bands but loved everything there was to see. It was her best day ever!!

Amaizing place to go with friends or families, they got a playground outside and an old cafeteria inside with a lot of interesting things. The Dino area is not to big but ok for that place. stuff are friendly and they help with any questions they you may have.

Expensive, but fun. Extra fees for everything. Also wish there was more ventilation in the car buildings. The "car" smell is overwhelming. The place is clean and well cared for. We really enjoyed Jurassic Gardens too. Great way to spend a couple hours!

So much to see (if you love cars)! There is something for everyone. There are various showrooms and a dinosaur garden which is great for the little ones. There were some beautiful cars to look at, classic and modern. A military showroom with vehicles, displays and memorabilia from the various wars. There is a Disney showroom which was amazing. There are rides and games for the kids in this room. That is just a few of the showrooms. Oh, can't forget about the celebrity car room. Loved it!!

Our family of 7 loved it. Kids are ages 10-15. The Jurassic gardens was an assortment of animated dinosaurs. My kids were too old to enjoy that portion but the rest of the museum was awesome.

If you a car person visit. If you are a movie buff- visit. If you have kids - visit. It’s awesome- we had a great time and we were on a time crunch. But we really enjoyed it and saw tons of cool cars. The kids loved the Dino portion too.

What a wonderful place. We visited a lot of different museums but never got around to go visit this one untill today. Yes if you have children over the age of 5 it gets a little pricey for a family but very worth it. There's things for adults and children to see. Great selection of cars older and new ones and the jurassic garden was a big excitment for pur little ones. Only thing we didn't really get to see was the military exhibit because it was quite loud and our kids were simply scared. Will definitely visit again!

This place is so cool if you like transportation/ automobilia. The RV section was very well done as were all the other exhibits. 10/10 will go again as it has changed every time I go.

If you or your kids like dinosaurs, this place is worth visiting. It’s pricey, but the collection of classic cars and Hollywood automobiles makes it worthwhile. I was really impressed with dinosaur exhibit in terms of its accuracy. Oviraptor as a caring parent and plaque explaining T-Rex probably had feather-like structures are two examples of this “up-to-date” info. Our kids thought the dinosaurs were fascinating, but we’re quite scared by the war zone recreation in the military vehicle display. They also enjoyed sitting in a real Indy Car and playing on the huge playground. The walkways are narrow and doors a very frequent so it’s best to leave the stroller at home. My only complaint is you’re forced to go through the gift shop to exit the dino area.

My daughter and her 2 cousins loved it. But I swear they enjoyed the playground more than the dinosaurs or cars 😂 😂 The girls are 5 & nephew is 6. Spent 3.5hrs there and it was worth it. Def recommend ❤️

Fun museum and very educational. The cars from earliest to movies to famous people. Loved being able to see inside the cars. War area was being reworked but we were able to tour through it. Will go back to spend more time there. WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm. Interesting to see how much was changed and improved. Campers were fun to see how little they were at first. Had snow mobiles from the first made. I can't put the detail we saw throughout the museum in this review. Just too much. We didn't do Crime and Punishment or the Dinosaurs. We weren't sure how long we would spend and we only had 1 day. All the workers we met, even mechanics who were busy were friendly and helpful. Buildings were not all connected, so we did have to go outside to get to the next one. Not just a few steps to the next building. Not far, but if it was inclement weather you'd get wet or cold. I use a Zoro scooter to get around when there is a lot of walking. Some of the doorways did not have enough room for me to swing out and hit the doorway square. Had to lift the back end around. My granddaughter is in a wheelchair. She had no trouble. If my scooter had been shorter, it would have worked better. Aisles were big enough to make it easy to navigate. War area was a bit congested. Single file mostly. We will be going back. Could have spent a lot more time, but we wanted to make sure we got through all of what we paid for. We took 3 hours. I think I saw a sign that said it could be done in 2 hours. I wouldn't do it that fast! Crime and Dinosaur are extra. Crime age restricted to 12 and up. My sister says it's very graphic. Cafeteria style eating. Pizza, nachos, soft drinks. Not much else. Not great either. But a good size place to sit down and eat.

We paid for 6 people to go to the dinosaur part, while it was nice, we thought it was a bit expensive. My mom, paid for both the cars and the dinosaurs and she thought the car portion was the best bang for the buck.. if you are a larger family (like 5 or more), you might be better off getting the membership in the long run... now the food was good, the employees were very nice, the exhibits were nice, and the park was great! It's kind of far for me, but I would recommend this to people who live closer... My sister loved it so much, she wants to have her birthday there...

This place was really cool! My mom and I took my dad here for a belated birthday celebration, but we were surprised that all 3 of us thought it was cool! There was A LOT to look at! The "rooms" (they're actually enormous and more like full buildings) are absolutely packed with cars (I'd hate to be the one trying to park them.) We looked at the sports cars, celebrity and movie cars, and the exhibit right before the movie car room which might have been custom cars? There was a military exhibit we ran out of energy before we could check out. They have a second exhibit going that is Dinosaur themed, but that is extra and we really came for the cars. The cool thing is they say they change everything up every month, so you can come back and see something new another time! My only complaint was navigation. They gave us a map but it was REALLY hard to navigate around. We went out of order because we couldn't find the first section-the weird thing is that it's by the ticket window, no one said anything about how to get there when we paid. After you pay and get the bracelet (it has a chip which opens the gate to get into every section) you are supposed to continue to the little diner- when you walk THROUGH the diner there is a little movie room that explains how the museum works, and then there is a door that leads to the first exhibit. Other than 20 minutes spent trying to find that entrance it was really fun and worth checking out!

Living in this area all my life, I was shocked by how massive this place is. We didn’t leave enough time to see everything, however, we loved it. It was so intriguing to see all they had on display. They truly have something that will appeal to anyone! I would recommend this for adults, children or anyone looking for a fun day activity!

My younger daughter has been obsessed with watching videos of old animatronics so we decided to come visit some at the Volo Auto Museum. I checked out half price passes from my local library but even with entry being half price it still cost about $46 for two adults if you wanted to include the jurassic gardens exhibit. Although that was for a two day pass which makes it better. My only disappointment was that 3 of the animatronics that we had come to see cost tokens to get them to play which was frustrating after paying so much to get in. We had a good time and spent about 3 hours there as we really didn't have an interest in the cars themselves, so if you are going with little ones there isn't as much to do. The park outside was nice but seems to only be included if you pay the extra for jurassic gardens.

Great place for family. About over an hour from Chicago and is worth the drive. There are different sections to visit. You can easily spend the whole day because there is a lot to see. Most of the cars are for exposition only, but there is a section to buy.

Wow, wow, and WOW ! What a find in basically the middle on nowhere. Easy to find and get to , we just had never heard of it before. Car lovers might want to leave your checkbooks at home you will be tempted to buy some of the dozens of museum quality car that are for sale. So much to see we didn’t even do it all There is also a huge antique store and a Jurassic Dinosaur exhibit too. A lot of walking but is is basically flat. Definitely worth making a trip to see.

Everything aligned. Update to my review- the antique shops are quite amazing to say the least. The reality is, if you like antiques, anything nostalgic, or simply want a blast from the/your past. This place has it. Thank you Volvo museum for such an amazing layout from end to end. I went back a second time with my kids, and it was tremendous.

It was our first time here today even though we've lived in the Chicago area all of our lives. Currently we live downtown so it's quite a trek. We went at the spur of the moment today to see Sven. Lol. Didn't wait in line or anything, but was fun nonetheless to see him. Then we (of course) wandered around and checked out as much of the exhibits/attractions that we could muster the energy for. It was very interesting and fun. My favorites were the different types of campers/cabins, etc, from back in the day. Especially the boat/camper combo. Wow. I would have liked to have had a few benches here and there in the big car rooms. I guess it wouldn't be too practical when you need to move cars around, but it would have been great with my arthritis. I appreciated benches and chairs in other locations, however. All in all a great day. 👍

We brought our 4 kids ages 8-19 months to the museum today. I must say there was something for everyone (adults included). My husband and I could have spent hours looking at the cars and military exhibit (so cool), but my kid's favorite was hands down the dinosaur exhibit! Animated dinosaurs with awesome descriptions. We will definitely be coming back!

I bought the combo tickets for both Auto Museum and Jurassic Gardens for the whole family. It was a fun experience for all of us. We enjoyed it so much! We each saw our favorite displays. There's even a disney showroom which the kids and I loved! Showbiz Place is there too! I thought I'd never see that again. The dinosaurs were so realistic. I actually bought these tickets for my 10 year Anniversary because I ran out of ideas of what to get this man, he was pretty happy about this. We all were. I thought I was going to be bored to death honestly, but wow I had fun! Would come back again someday. Hopefully there are new stuff to see.

Awesome place! Whether you’re into cars or not this place is so great! They have all kinds of vehicles from movies, muscle cars, trains, trailers and more! Was great seeing cars from shows or movies and bringing you back to those awesome memories. They also had really old tractors and the little ride on machines that you often see at grocery stores. Great place to bring visitors if you live near by or even if you want to check out a spot outside the big city of Chicago near by. Definitely a go to spot!

Went with a small group and was delighted by how many cars there were and the quality of the restorations. We especially liked the movie cars, like the cars from Ghostbusters and National Lampoons Vacation, etc.

Went for the first time. Not really knowing what to expect. And was greatly surprised. Pretty big selection of cars that were from the movies. As well as different makes and models of antiques, older, newer, newest cars. Simply, everything in between. I really enjoyed viewing them. Even though there was quite few people that day but it was not crowded. There were also dinosaurs in another section of the museum, for the younger at heart, kids. Very nice collection as well. Not the skeletons but like the real thing. I have to say, I was impressed. Also, there's a play ground for kids and antique mall for those interested to purchase some items. My oh my, the selections are overwhelming, in a good way. I would like to go there someday and spend more time looking around and find some unusual things. And lastly, I have to mention food. The pizza was very tasty, but the hot dog, oh my goodness, so delicious! Yes. Hot dog! I had some hot dogs before, but that hot dog, was simply the taste buds pleaser! Finger licking effect. No joke. And the cherry cola in the bottle. I never tasted soda this good! For real. I checked the bottle and it comes from the brewery in Wisconsin, so is not an ordinary soda. They also have pretty good selection of sweets on the other side of the diner but I didn't try any. I think I forgot. Overall, the trip to the Volo museum was a total success.

Super fun nostalgia money pit. You pay to get in, you pay tokens to use machines and see some exhibits, you pay extra for the dinos, you pay to mine gems, you pay to play arcade games, you pay $25 for 3 ice creams, 2 waters and 2 fountain drinks. Like I said... it is really neat. It is really expensive. It gets really tiresome shelling out money for each thing after paying $140 for 5 people admission. Oh and the flippin' Dino ride plays the Barney theme song which was enough to make me want to demand a refund.

Called to get an appraisal for a vintage car gor insurance they got me in in less the 45 minutes from the time I called (it took me 35 minutes to get there). Awesome service and Joey was a fountain of knowledge. A great experience and will go back to see the museum when I can get a group together.

Saw this on a TV show and it took us awhile to get there but I was blown away when we did. I like cars but don't love them like my husband does and I had a great time! I think I took more pictures than he did lol The cars were so cool. So much to look at other than just cars. My favorite was show biz pizza. We spent so many hours there we didn't even get thru all the antique malls. When I came home I told all my friends about it. Also I'm organizing an auction for a non profit and they are donating tickets without hesitation. We will be back many more times with our family and friends! Thanks for a great day!!

Nice but too broken up. Each exhibit has a separate building, I went on a pleasant fall day so no worries if it had been a cold windy day I would not have been pleased. Many superb vehicles (4 Dusenbergs) no Pierce Arrows. The music building was excellent but the Carousel only runs on the weekends, a disappointment for grandchildren. Train cars, early campers, tractors etc we're all very good. About 115$ for 2 adults and a child including food ( limited menu. Dinosaur exhibit was a hit with children and large. This is a must see if you are interested but make no mistake this is not the Henry Ford. Once and done.

We visited the Jurassic Garden. The path through the garden takes you to numerous dinosaurs with sounds and some movement. Great for dino-loving kids. We also got a real-time injection molded dinosaur ($5).

So much to see words can't explain it. Even the antique shops are multiple buildings with multiple stories on them. Plan on spending most of the day there even if you're a faster walker like me.

So much to see so plan an entire day around it, especially if you like to take your time to admire cars. The retail and antique shops are huge so you can spend a day just looking through the collections.

For just the TV and movie cars, its worth it. Of course there are tons of cars to see, but the amount of famous cars from tv makes every building interesting. Plus there are lots of other odd things, like working Zoltar machine, boats, motorbikes, motorhomes, and other misc stuff from the past. The food was expensive, and not even hot, but you kinda know you're gonna get ripped on food at places like this. And they were still adding more displays. I would recommend checking it out.

I spent 3 hours just at the antique mall ! After seeing some of these dream cars I was super motivated to make more $. Can't wait to check out the upcoming new exhibits.

Fantastic place to visit. A must for people visiting the Chicago area on a long-term vacation or for those that live within a 3-hour drive. This museum has excellent exhibits that are clean and well maintained. there are so many antiques that take you back to the old days. The museum Prides itself on its cleanliness. I spent about 3 hours here and that wasn't enough time to see all the buildings and exhibits. I definitely plan on returning soon as the cars on display rotate. This place is excellent for purchasing a restored or mint classic car. Prices seem very reasonable.

Fun place for the family. They have classic cars and some trucks set up in several heated buildings, with exhibits to entertain your kids and keep them interested. Multiple buildings with antiques as well. good place to spend a couple hours. If you see the classic you like, everything is for sale.

Great place for a date or family fun morning/afternoon! You will definitely see some movie magic here. There’s a bus tour to show you all the cars around if you do not want to walk! They also have military and medical torture exhibits. You do have to pay extra for the bus and special exhibits. It was a total surprise as well that they had old Disney Store window displays! They have several warehouses full of old cars that you can purchase and a diner as you walk in for lunch or snacks. We enjoyed walking the different buildings all afternoon.

This place was great, what a treasure. Went there as something to do not knowing really anything about the place, and now can't wait to visit again. They have old cars, motorcycles, famous vehicles from TV and movies. Old time pinball machines and such you can play. Old planes, old jukeboxes, and so much more. Basically something for everyone. They have a tram tour that is worth taking. You get the story about the place plus the layout of the place. Plan a few hours if you want to see everything. You can also buy many of the vehicles if that's what you're into. They also have about three buildings of antique booths to shop at. The antique buildings are free to visit but there is a small fee to get into the museum part.

We went for mothers day. Moms were free entry so that was nice! Collection is amazing, fun, and vast. They have so much to look at, and hear about. Have to go back to see the rest. Great non-traditional museum. Consists of several "barn" style museums. They have restored child rides that run off tokens, food, plenty of restrooms, a "train" ride, outdoor playground for the kids, and a TON of photo ops! This place is of course, 99.9% cars. You can buy and sell cars. They do have RV's, boats, military vehicles and Luxury, sports, classic, offroad, celebrity, and movie cars. It's quite the place to see and inexpensive. A definite must visit.

The artifacts are presented in an appealing and professional manner that is very inviting. I’ve really never seen a museum like this. Great place full of numerous different types of vehicles. We went on a day that was very crowded due to a Disney parade. Inspite of the large crowd it was an enjoyable day. I look forward to returning. However my only complaint is if you are handicapped and require a wheelchair or mobility scooter, there are no automatic doors, and the doorways are narrow and very difficult to access. There is no way a person with a mobility disability can access this place by themselves!

Any kind of classic car you can imagine along with a amazing collection of famous vehicles that were in movies. We loved it here. We went on a day where we bought discounted tickets because honestly, normal pricing was too expensive for us, but we understand they need to make money too! We brought the kids here and had a blast looking at everything. Even saw lightning McQueen for the little one! They had these cool Disney scenes from select movies. If you are anywhere near Volo, IL. which is northwest of Chicago, ILLINOIS, you need to visit the Volo Auto Museum. To see it all will take the better part of the day, so plan accordingly. It is more then just cars. There are covered wagons, scooters, snowmobiles, jets, farm equipment, construction equipment and awesome 50's diner that serves food. A must-see is the Duesenberg collection! Also on the property is a antique mall with about 400 vendor spaces. If you're looking for that unique item you can probably find it there. If you're looking for a hot rod or collector car this is the place to go because 95% of the cars there are for sale. The one is not for sale or their personal collection of cars and movie Cars. Lots of parking so you can drive anything there and in a beautiful wooded location. Don't forget to view their jukebox collection also on the tour. It is a lot of walking so bring some really comfortable shoes.

Great experience for car enthusiasts and families alike. A variety of historic, famous, and infamous vehicles - from the batmobile to Brittany Spears crashed Mercedes to Donald Trumps gold plated limo. Other experiences include seeing an old travelling railroad car, covered wagons, the history of snowmobiles, and the war museum with tank in its original condition. There is a playground for kids. Bring quarters for the rides for kids - they have operable quarter rides from the 60s 70s and 80s that you may remember from the grocery stores of your childhood! There is an antique / flea market in 5 buildings as well. Great time all around!

Well worth the price of admission! Definately will go back again. They have a bunch of old kiddie rides that would sit in front of stores, still operational, so be sure and bring some quarters. Movie cars, celebrity cars, old RV's, pedal cars, and even a military area. Didn't go on the bus or train, or see the crime and punishment area, but they are only $2 add ons, and def plan to do them on my next trip. It is a lot of walking, but there are benches throughout, play area for the kids, and a little eatery selling hot dogs, pizza slices, churros, and drinks.

Came in on a Friday. Plan accordingly there is so many options to read where all the cars come from and learn. There are also antique cars for sale. Several cars from movies like fast and the furious, the Terminator, Elenore from "Gone in sixty seconds", Star Wars just to name a few. Also, there was a tribute to Paul walker. In the Hollywood section you will see a small screen with a movie screen playing a clip from the movie the car is from. The only downside is some sections really smelled like gasoline and the floor could use some remodeling. Can't wait to go back to see the other exhibits! Definitely take a camera to capture the authentic cars.

Total disappointment for a car guy. Absolutely no disabled assistance devices and very handicap unfriendly environment. Very disorganized..stuff all over stuff. Worst is the antique shop. Where's all the actual cool cars in the online photos? No batman..no back to future, only a fake looking movie scene car. They show the movie seen in the background and the car at volo, it doesn't have nearly the amount of bullets as in the actual movie car. Not legitimate at all. The food was drive through quality at best. Few choices. And the entry fee is ridiculously expensive for what you get.

When i get to take my granddaughter Iris Faith, I KNOW SHE WILL LOVE IT!!! The young pretty lady at the desk was sweet and professional and great with my granddaughter!! She alone deserves 5 stars too then!!! A business is truly only as successful as kindness and caring is from the employees to the customers as well; not to mention, just the road view of the attractions is awesome to look at in itself!!! Only went to Jurassic Gardens, and it's definitely worth a visit if you have small children. Be prepared to wait in line for tickets, and they are relatively expensive. To keep costs down, we brought a packed lunch, and it was nice to eat at the picnic tables. There's a sizable dino-themed playground for kids that is awesome. Let your kids get tired playing there before going into Jurassic Gardens. The gardens are a winding path of animatronic dinos and some interactive exhibits. Have your camera ready to take pics of your kids being eaten by dinos or hatching from eggs. SKIP the arcade (all craw grab games that are unwinnable) and mining sand from the gift shop unless you like to lose money. Both are a total ripoff. Otherwise, it's a couple hours of fun in spite of the price.

Huge property.....I have read about this place for 10 to 20 years. I just happened to be driving by and there it was...I thought I'd pull in and take a quick 15-18 min walk through and be back on my way...no such luck..this place is huge and consist of 6 to 9 various sprawling barnsstyle buildings. The auto museum is spread between 3-4 buildings with antique shops and a restaurant and other curiosities mixed in. There are so many signs and arrows that it took me 5+ mins to find the building with admission tickets (in back) I make it into the admission building and that in itself was confusingly laid out. I could not find the ticket window. By now I had spent 10-12 mins of my 20 mins allotment just walking around reading signs😢 I could tell that it would take 2 - 3 hours minimum to scratch the surface...I gave up and said "maybe some other day".⏳⌛⏰⌚💸📆✈

Volo Auto Museum is a super unique place that is great to check out on your own, with some friends, or most of all, the whole family. You'll get to see some beautiful classic and antique cars, historic cars, cars from movies and TV, as well as things like antique motorcycles, peddle cars, scooters, outboard motors, bicycles, jukeboxes, and more. You can also buy classic cars here! They also have a great area for kids with a ton of vintage quarter rides still fully functional. Also on site there is a huge antique mall. I'm probably missing a ton of stuff, just plan on spending the whole day there and don't worry about food, they have a food court.

Don't be fooled by the name. It's much more than an auto museum. The Duesenbergs there are amazing ! They do have a large collection of collector cars for sale. The military exhibits are good too. They also have play areas for kids to keep them from being bored. I spent at least six hours there with a break for lunch but I read nearly every plaque. A must see! They also have several antique malls of which I only had time to visit one.

This is a cool place to visit! They have just about any car you can think of: Vintage, Modern, Sports, cars from famous movies, RV's, Trains, Tractors and Military vehicles. They give you the history behind the cars, which is interesting. I loved every bit of my visit but my favorite was seeing Christine. It's totally worth a day trip, you won't be disappointed. My boyfriend and I went for his birthday and we both enjoyed our visit. We got to see some cool cars, learned some interesting facts and had some laughs. I would definitely go again.

Great fun for the whole family, a lot of things to look at. Not everything is cars. A place you can be all day, so much to see that you don't want to rush through it. Their is a tour vehicle that you can ride so you can get a look at the spot to hit.

Great place to spend the day. I went with my son and two grandsons ages 7 and 12. They had the best time and want to know when they can go back. The museum I will give 5 stars to but the pizza area is way too pricey. Come on nearly $5.00 for a slice of pizza. Beyond that it was a wonderful day with lots of things to see.

Family fun - just went last weekend after years away - the operation is much larger now, and the Jurassic Park exhibit is really cool! Prices are a bit steep, though. Allow at least half a day to go through the museums. You could easily spend the entire day here.

This museum is amazing! they have a great selection of classic cars and other very interesting mode of two wheel vehicles, as well as many cool vintage artifacts. They even have a section of military display which is educational and you can learn cool facts about different times of history. Next to the museum there is a huge antique shop. I would definitely go back! I recommend anyone to check it out, you won’t be disappointed. Also if you have kids I noticed they have an outside park area for summer and some type of indoor dinosaur exhibit- we didn’t go in but it looked like fun. This is a cool idea even for a date day, or just to spend a fun weekend.

The jurassic museum was pretty cool, my kids loved it. They really liked how close the dinosaurs were. It isn't huge but not necessarily small either. My recommendation is if you go take your time and get your moneys worth. I thought the general admission price was fair.

VOLO AUTO MUSEUM IS A MUST SEE FOR ALL "CAR LOVERS" ANTIQUE COLLECTORS AND HISTORY BUFFS. MAKE IT A FULL DAY TRIP (4-5 hours) TO DO JUSTICE TO THEIR UNIQUE COLLECTION OF: CLASSIC CARS (e.g. Dussenburgs), HOLLYWOOD CARS, ANTIQUE AUTOS, 60' AND 70'S MUSCLE CARS. ALSO, ALLOW TIME TO VIEW THEIR ANTIQUES MALL (massive). There are plenty of things for the kids, outdoors, and would recommend bring a picnic lunch, since food options are VERY LIMITED. Visited with teenagers and they were "engaged" throughout day. Oh, and there are collections of: cycles, bizarre cars, snowmobiles, tractors, vintage kiddie rides, cartoon funny cars, stage coaches. Great side trip for those visiting Chicago, since about one hour drive into country. Nice break from "hussle/bussle" of city.

Grew up near this museum my whole life. Always loved the Auto museum and the Military section when it came out. We wanted to check out the Dinosaur part and it is $17 per person to get in !!! WTH this part took around 10-15 minutes and it was over This should be no more than $10 to get in here. Then $11 and change for 1 slice of pizza and a drink Unbelievable prices .

The museum was great. We went on a princess/heroes weekend so lots of characters in costumes. It was advertised as "authentic" costumes... but it definitely left something to be desired. There was an overweight Mackey mouse and Batgirl. But thankfully my kids didn't seem to mind. The cars were really cool. Lots of cars from many different movies. The military exhibit was really well done. Little confusing to go through but lots and lots of interesting and historic memorabilia. The hubby and I want to go back sometime without the kids to spend more time looking at everything. The staff were all very nice and it was a clean facility. We will be back!

This place is amazing. There's soooooo much here. I probably took over 200 photos. The cool thing is they have a plan for you if you only have an hr or 2. (Preferably plan a day) There are 5 buildings, plus a military exhibit, some boats, an old stage coach exhibit, and 3 antique malls. There's so many cars. Movie cars, famous people cars, Pre-War, muscle cars, etc.

Wonderful place to come for auto buffs and car collectors, just looking or looking to buy/sell. Great collection of movie cars and props and a bunch of various artifacts from different wars in the special war museum section. The place has multiple buildings filled with everything that you would not is a traditional museum. There is even antique mall. Looking forward to how they expand their railroad display section. Easily a full days adventure for anyone to enjoy.

I always came here with my grandparents when I was little, since they lived for half of the year down the road at Fish Lake campgrounds. I finally took my husband, and my goodness this place has gotten huge! It's a nice way to spend a day, even if it's raining. Just walking around and checking everything out. Great place!

“This is the best museum so far!”… is what my son told me when we finally finished touring the entire place. He absolutely loved the entire experience. He brought with $1 and $5 bills for the attractions and didn’t want to leave. There are so many different themes and eras of vehicles that even I enjoyed quite a few of them from my younger days. This was so much more fun than we thought it would be.

This place is an AMAZING hidden gem! This was my first time here, and i loved it so much! there are 5 showrooms filled with classic cars, cars from movies, and artist renditions, to name a few. There are tons of historical pieces, as well as a place to eat, and an antique mall with "7 miles of aisles"! Its so much fum for the whole family, whether you're a car nut or a history buff or just want to shop for some cool vintage things. Volo is amazing!

If you are a car enthusiast, you have to go here. It's a great way to spend a few hours. They have an original bat mobile from the 1960's tv series, the General Lee from Dukes of Hazard, the DeLorean from Back to the future, a Mach 5 from the speed racer cartoon. Amazing museum, probably one of the best! The collection of cars is great with something for everyone. There were a lot of classics mixed in with famous Hollywood cars and modern muscle. My favorites were K.I.T.T., the Delorean, the Speed Racer car, and the Grease Lightning. I was shocked to see a Lamborghini Countach and Diablo! I did not expect to see those cars. There was a gorgeous yellow Viper as well and... don't want to spoil the surprise. I highly suggest to check this place out if you are a car enthusiast.

Short: I recommend visiting for adults without any hesitation. If you have kids you should be aware of some of the shortcomings of this place and plan accordingly. Long: This place has a ton of cool stuff to see. If it's just one or more adults visiting, then head on over, get lost in the parking lot, ask where to go, get pointed on the right direction, and enjoy everything from there on. There is so much to see that if you're in the area you shouldn't miss this. It may even take more than one visit to enjoy it all. However, if you have kids you need to be aware of a few things depending on their age. This place is a confusing mess of buildings, indoor and outdoor paths that at times are not obvious, stretches with no discernable restrooms or places to sit and rest, and exhibits that can or can not be touched. If, as a random example, thirty minutes into the visit your toddler loses his mind and you need to quickly exit to your car, you simply cannot. You'll be three or four different, detached buildings into the experience and the only thing this place has more of than cars is fences. You literally can't escape if you choose to go "off path". It's kind of all or nothing, and when all means a multi-hour commitment the logistics of a visit with kids becomes tough. Not impossible, but tough. Plan accordingly.

This is an EXCELLENT Museum. Some of the vehicles on display were everyday cars when I was growing up. There are rows of interesting and well conditioned cars. The motor and mobile homes from the past look better than the modern day versions. Also, any staff members that you meet are super friendly, and can answer questions about the exhibits flawlessly. I plan to revisit soon. The price may seem high, but it is WELL WORTH IT!

The only thing my son and his friends had as a complaint was wanting more dinos! 😂 They're very friendly people the car exhibits are beautifully constructed and the dino garden is amazingly thought out in the sense of extra play areas and keeping a one way flow of movement. It was a great experience and we can't wait to come back!

This is a wonderful car museum. My husband & I went & we both had a great time. The cars are beautifully set up & a lot of the cars can be purchased. The place was very clean & neat. Very friendly staff. There are a lot of cars that were used in movies like Batman, James Bond, The Blues Brothers & Star Wars, just to name a few along with videos showing the cars. It was fascinating. There’s a lot of walking, so be sure to wear very comfortable shoes.

SUPER COOL CAR MUSEUM! there's a whole variety of cars to see, even old rvs and train, lots to go through. museum was easy to find, parking was not difficult at all. they have antique stores too if you're into that that was interesting to look at. if you have kids there is even a play area/park outside before the entrance. they do have food you can buy inside too. staff was helpful and nice, cars were wicked, different sections were all decorated with antiques which made it an even cooler experience. HIGHLY RECOMMEND coming here with car friends or family. i'm looking to go again very soon.

The Volo Auto Museum is a must see if you have never been there before and enjoy classic cars. With a neat old time feel of the past you easily get hooked. Housing a lot of classic movie cars your sure to recognize from the general lee, ghostbusters, time machine DeLorean, and Eleanor. Besides movie cars to view there are also a lot of nice classic and muscle cars for sale. Several neat exhibits to enjoy like a military muesum, tractors, snowmobiles, scooters, campers. On the property is also one of the biggest antique malls you will come across with tons of neat items to look through. Definitely plan a day to the Volo Auto Muesum to look at some cool cars and explore a antique mall.

We really enjoying going to the museum a few times a year as a family and would recommend anyone interested cars/history to take a trip. You can absolutely fit a stroller through the entire museum if you have small children. Very affordable. Large parking lot, plenty of parking.

A couple weeks ago my mother and I decided to go check out the Carousel Museum, the antique cars, and of course do a little antique shopping. We have done the antique shopping many times in the past, but this the the first time in a long time we visited the other parts. We were both very impressed with all the new additions they have added on to make this a great family place. Everything looked nice, and it was very clean. My mother has some back, and leg issues and it was nice to see places where she could sit for a bit as well. It looks like they are doing even more with the property, and I can’t wait to see what is next.

Have always loved Volvo Auto Museum but it has changed. The girl greeting us was very friendly. They have made many improvements throughout making it easy to navigate. We went the Jurassic Dinosaur Exhibit.It was kind of a one and done. I think young kids would really like it. We skipped the War Museum Exhibit because we have seen it so many times. We really enjoyed the Old Cars, Boats and Rv’s.they are always worth the visit. We weren’t really impressed with the tractors or Carousel Very disappointed with the Luxury Muscle Cars. Building 5 was always are favorite but now it’s not very special.

We spent all day here with our boys. So much to look at! The exhibits are set up with such detail and the kids were in awe of everything there was to see. My husband and I hope to come back sometime so we can take even more time to look at the large collection this museum has. I can’t imagine anyone spending less than 3-4 hours here. We were at the museum for nearly 5 hours with three boys under 6 and no one was ready to go home at closing time. The vintage kiddie rides were a bonus. There are showrooms with spectacular cars, with very high price tags, so be aware of that when visiting with your kids. Luckily, our kids behaved and didn't try to touch. We will definitely visit again.

The cars displayed were in very good conditions, everything was very organized and the people working there are very patient. The only thing is that there aren't nearly as many cars as there were before so it felt really short. Despite that, the museum is still a very nice place to visit and even bring your kids now that there is a dinosaur themed park for children.

Although I am not really into cars i still enjoyed the visit, the mixture of muscle and exotic cars were nice and some Collector cars like the Subaru used in Furious 7 was also a plus. There were also other buildings that housed other displays.

The carousel building is my favorite. It is a unique building that is filled with one of a kind, beautiful, self playing orchestrions, as well as a hand carved wooden carousel. It is quite fascinating. The vintage kid rides and the vintage arcade games in the Disney building, or building 4, was where we spent the most time and money with the kids. The dinosaur exhibit was amazing. The kids LOVED it. The Volo Auto Museum has really changed and expanded since I was there 10 years ago. I could probably go back a few times in the next year or two and see something new each time.

My daughter and I have been going to the Volo Antique Malls for years but we heard there's a carousel building now and decided to check it out. Carousels and their horses and band organs are of great interest to me so I was very curious to see what they had. You have to go thru the auto museum, an amazing experience in itself, and then you can access the carousel building. It features a wonderfully restored carousel along with band organs and other antique music machines. Some you can put a coin in and listen to them play. Absolutely wonderful. Could have spent hours just in this building. There is something here for everyone, old or young. So many things for kids to see and try including the dinosaur museum. Singing puppets that put on a show, collections of juke boxes and the ride on horses that used to be in stores, even snowmobiles from way back when, and, of course , the antique mall. Staff was friendly , everything was very clean and very well organized. A great place to spend the day with family or friends.

The Volo auto museum is huge. We just went there for the first time. We have been planning to go for years and finally went. They have room after room of cars many of which are for sale. There is an eclectic collection of other things like farm equipment, Disney stuff, train cars, a few airplane, military displays, and vehicles of all types. Many famous vehicles from movies or celebs. Lots of walking but most displays are handicap accessible. So long as you can walk a couple miles. There is a food court and stuff for kids. Picnic tables outside so you can bring your own lunch. We would definitely recommend the auto museum for adults and kids who love cars. $20 for adult entry. They also have a kids dinosaur world for a separate fee, but we didn't do that. You could spend a whole day here. It took us about 3 hours to get through most of the auto museum exhibits

Great place to bring the kids!! We took our 2 year old to the dinosaur exhibit. He was a little scared at first with the moving huge dinosaurs, but he loved it! It is a small exhibit and doesn't take long to walk around so make sure you take your time and really look at each animatronic dinosaur while you can. They have a gift shop and small arcade there too which is fun.

This place was everything I imagined it to be. It very organized. The staff was friendly except at the concession stand. Ticket counter told us we could get a courtesy cup of ice and water the concession stand told us no and that we had to pay for bottled water until we told them what the ticket counter told us. A little disturbing. My favorite part of the exhibit was the Dusenbergs. Phenomenal display of what they should and could be. I believe the first video room we sat in told us that by the time we were done we would have walked 7 miles. I believe it but it was well worth it so make sure to put on comfortable walking shoes. Also bring your own food and plan a picnic or eat before you come the food selection wasn’t all that great appealing. There is something for the whole family. No matter what you are into and they also have some of the vehicles for sale minus the Dusies.

Highly recommend Volo museum! We thought our son would enjoy the Jurassic museum there so we purchased tickets and headed towards the entrance. As soon as we stepped outside and our son saw and heard the dinosaurs that were at the entrance to the museum, he freaked out. He was terrified! We went back in and Katlyn, she sold us the tickets, saw us and asked what was wrong. We told her and she was able to accommodate us into switching our tickets to the car museum part. I just feel bad because it appeared she was taking a break and having a bite to eat but as soon as she saw us, she rushed through what she was doing just to help us. Volo museum, I hope you see this and let Katlyn know how much she is appreciated! She’s amazing! The car museum was really nice, our son was still terrified through because there was the alien, King Kong, and some other figures that he found scary. There were a lot of cool cars and movie props. We didn’t get through everything of course, would have to spend hours to get through everything. And the price? You’re getting a lot for your money here!

We took our 10 year old grandson there yesterday. They have an incredibly immense collection of automobiles, and other mechanical devices on display. Early tractors, snowmobiles, outboard motors, bicycles, scooters, pedal cars. You name it, they had it! All very organized, in an immaculately clean setting. I was impressed times ten!

Everyone claims it takes two days to see everything. Absolutely NOT true. We took our time and read almost every informative placard for each attraction AND ate lunch in less than four hours. I suppose if you have kids and go on a weekend during summer months, you might not see everything, but really - it's a three hour attraction on a fall day for a couple of adults. Oh - and I have to mention the restaurant. This WAS in the fall on a weekday, but there was pretty much no selection. A tray of nachos, a hotdog, or a slice of pizza. Go out for lunch. There are several fast food places nearby.

In mid-December I purchased a 1976 Triumph TR6 from Volo Auto Museum and worked with Richard Kusz as my representative. Having never purchased a classic car much less sight unseen, I was appropriately skeptical and nervous about it. I received the car and have been truly happy with it - particularly when I compare what I purchased to the online presentation as well statements made by Richard over the phone and email. I believe Richard and Volo represented the car well and were forthright in identifying any known issues. There is a lot of angst when purchasing a car without seeing it so when it came as described it was a big relief. The car is not perfect as I would expect for a 1976 and I've discovered an issue or two that I'll need to address. But all things considered I am really pleased with the purchase and in dealing with Volo. Richard is very assuring and a pleasure to work with.

Volo Auto Museum is a wonderful walk thru automotive history! It's been a number of years since we last visited and things have changed alot! $20 admission! The blue directional walkway path, takes you to the many bldgs of show cars, tractors, mobile homes (Fantastic!!) circus calihpies,ect. was extremely helpful! For a day with or without the kids, it is worth the trip. Resturant on site was nice to have to rest and snack. See you there!

My family and I went for the first time. We had a lot of fun seeing all the different cars. We even did the dinosaur area. My 4 year old loved it! It is worth the money! The only problem we had was at the ticket line. The lady there was very rude. We told her that we had 1 child over 5 and 1 child under 5. She wanted to argue that we said something different when she put it in the computer wrong. I heard other people complaining about her as well.

The cars were stunning, loved seeing my favorite movie cars. The museum was barely handicap accessible and not handicap friendly at all I am in a wheelchair and it was very difficult to get thru the doors and up and down the hills . It's such a shame that in 2021 you are not a good place for handicap people to go.

The Volo Auto museum is a must for everyone, even if you're not a car enthusiast. There's lots of Auto history here. So much to go through and learn about. At first I thought the admission fee was a bit too pricey for 2 adults and 1 older kid (adult rate) and 1 kid (kid rate) but at the end of the day, I can tell you it was all worth it. There are five buildings to go through on the site. So plan on spending at least 4 to 5 hours. We spent nearly 6 hours. We did the combo deal which includes indoor dinosaur exhibits with dinosaur animatronics. Highly recommend.

Much, much better than expected. A little on the expensive side for a family of 5 on a Sunday afternoon but the kids loved it. Happy kids = Happy dad. Some great vehicles here. Not exactly sure how many are as "original" as the claims make? Some feel very reproduction - look a like to me. But fun time all the same.

They cover most every vehicle created for Hollywood shows. More than half the car collection is also for sale with price tags ... if you've got the money!
