This was by far the absolute best moving experience I've ever had. They showed up on time. They worked real hard. They were very polite, professional and proudly respectful of our belongings. I was impressed during my move this past weekend. The movers showed up on time, explained how furniture would be packed, laid down protective floor mats and used creative ways to get bulky furniture downstairs. Unfortunately my hourly budget went 2 hours over due to tight spaces, small elevators and large furniture. Things out of their control. Overall I was happy with the movers and how responsive Bob was in the office.

CMS ARE EXCELLENT MOVERS! Jerry went above and beyond! He communicated the schedule, called ahead of time, arrived on time, and wrapped the cabinet with care! Then when the cabinet proved too big to make it up the stairwell - Jerry reworked the plan - he used piano straps and called extra crew members to help hoist the cabinet over 15ft in the air up from the lobby to over the second story railing into my condo. Great work, great attitude - he never gave up! So happy - I will recommend Jerry and his team to everyone! Service was amazing - and would not have happened without Jerry's determination - Thanks Jerry! (called for a quote and had an appointment just 2 weeks later)

I had Andy, Landon, and Jordan help me with a local move last weekend. I told them that I was worried about my standing desk getting damaged in the move and they were very helpful and understanding with making sure the desk was secure and safely in and out of both apartments. It still works great! They were also very timely, polite, and careful with my furniture. Overall, I had a great experience with City Moving & Storage from setting up the move to the actual day of the move. They were very responsive and made the process stress free.

The crews that helped with my move were amazing. They truly care about the customer's belongings. They were very efficient. I couldn't believe how quickly they got things done. Bob and crew took time to understand my needs and used their expertise to make sure everything went smoothly. Best part is that during the unload they put everything where I wanted it! It seemed like they enjoyed their job and had fun loading and unloading. During my unload, one guy said it was his 3rd move of the day and he was still going strong. We were able to schedule help moving with in a week of our move date. On the day of our move, Sam M and David B arrived on time (even a few minutes early which was great!) and quickly began working. They worked hard!!!!! My town house was cleared out within 2 hours. I appreciated how careful they were with my belongings. They were professional and efficient. AMAZING! Our movers, Jerry and Eugene, were beyond amazing and friendly. It took them about 4 hours to do everything. They helped us figure out how to make our sectional work in our family room. They both worked so well together. The cost was reasonable. Bob and Brie were great to work with to get things set up for our move. I can’t recommend them enough!!!

I called about 5 different companies , two never even picked up the phone. As soon as I called this company I was not only treated professionally but also was not talked down to or any negative vibes. Within minutes I knew this was the company for me. My family and I moved out of our 2 bedroom townhouse and into a full house with a finished basement. On the day of move in was called 15 minutes ahead of scheduled time and when the movers arrived Bobby , Brianna , an Eugene were AMAZING. Very professional, caring of our personal belongings, and very accommodating. If I could hire this same crew again ,I would. They got everything done and moved in with not one problem. This was my first time ever investing in a moving company -- this was the best decision I have ever made and I am so glad I went with CMS! The two movers that helped me were very friendly and kind, and I trusted them with my belongings! They were even good sports and not phased by the rain, or the fact that my new apartment was on the 3rd floor of the building with no elevator. I did have one box of ceramic plates break, but that was the ONLY thing that broke, which I was thankful for. They brought their own rugs so that they didn't track mud and dirt in, and had plenty of tape and blankets to wrap my furniture with! If I ever need to move again, I will definitely be hiring CMS.

I've moved many times in my life but have never hired movers. It usually involves renting a truck, calling in some favors to friends, all of us burning an entire day, and spending more than you thought on gas and other addons associated with rental. I requested a quote online from several companies and decided to proceed with the lowest bid, City Moving and Storage. Was great to work with the owner of a family run business over a few quickly responded to emails. We were able to discuss the cost and get it scheduled easily. The movers were great. Worked with Travis and Andrew. They called an hour beforehand and arrived when they said they would, despite fresh snow on the roads. I explained what needed to be done and they were able to handle it all quickly and efficiently on a -15F February morning. Service couldn't have been better. Everything's was done in a few hours, nothing's broke, the guys were easy to work with, and the price was best in town. Well run company from top to bottom and it shows with the employees who like their job despite the difficulty. My move is temporary and I am planning another move by years end. My first stop will be looking to contact Bob at City Moving and Storage to hire Travis and Andrew and make it as easy as possible once again.

Very impressed with the work Landon and Bobby did! Extremely professional and careful movers, who ensured we had everything we needed for a smooth transition. They went above and beyond to help us move an extremely large couch and took the time to go through the options available to us. We hired City Moving and Storage to move from our house to there storage facility until our new house was ready. The service was impeccable. The three young men for each move were very careful with moving us and moved quickly. They took no breaks and worked hard. They laid blankets on our floor when hauling boxes and furniture. The driver, Jerry, has been moving for 20+ years and his attention to safeguarding our items and home made it clear he has done this many times before. Bob and his staff were amazing. We had a very stressful move that unexpectedly ended up spanning 2 weeks due to closing issues. We moved from a 4 BR home and had a 4 man crew. On the loading day, the guys were so fast and helpful. They worked with us every step of the way. When the closing on our new house was delayed, Bob provided a calmness and assured us our belongings would be stored safe and would be available when we were ready. 2 weeks later when we were able to close, Bob and his team were able to work with us and get us into our home super quickly! There was another 4 man crew there and not only did they move quickly, they did a great job. They made very quick work of the unload. They were super nice on a very busy day. We had to have them re-move a couple things that we had them place in the wrong room, they didn’t even bat an eye. They just made the move and kept going. It was so great to have Bob and his team managing our move! We would definitely hire them again when we move and recommend them to all of our friends and family who may be moving.

We got several bids prior to our move. So happy we did! City Moving and Storage came out and gave us a very competitive bid! They worked with us when we needed to store the whole truck filled with our belongings for a week! Their crew was friendly, competant and strong! They have a lot of experience and they work fast! We used City Moving for our first move in 25 years. I was fortunate that Bob came out in advance to assess our needs because he said we needed two trucks, and I hadn’t expected that. He was spot on. He recommended a crew of 4 and again was absolutely right. It took 4 movers, plus my husband and I working diligently but we got the job done by 7 pm. Ruben and Nico worked with me and were so kind and helpful. They were really amazing. I can’t believe how much they did,. I don’t know how we would have done it without them.

Used CMS for a local move and it was a great experience. We were concerned all our “stuff” wouldn’t fit in the trucks and that the crew wouldn’t have enough time to get us out. Had interaction with the moving company even though I did not use their service. One of the movers was great, the other one needed a little more customer service training; when I called about it the manager was amazing and understood everything I described to him. They move fast when moving! Trucks tend to be large so request a small one if needed... doing your research always makes an easier move for yourself and the people you hire to assist. What a joy it was to work with City Moving and Storage. Travis,Caleb and Jerry were so professional and pleasant to work with. They put in a long 12-hour day moving me and their attitude was so wonderful even at the end of that long day. I hired a moving company with a ton of reservation on what I would get. Well I will tell ya this company was great to deal with from booking the move to the two amazing young men Alex W. And Sam M. These two guys didn’t skip a beat they actually ran up and down stairs and worked their tails off, they were very careful and wrapped things they could to help protect our furniture. Jerry, Travis and Trevor were impressive from the start. They came into my house and got a brief overview of everything to be moved and then set straight to work putting down a protective sheeting on the floors and stairs. They handled my packed boxes with care and wrapped all of the furniture so impeccably. They paid attention to the details such as my antique dining table that they took the brittle wooden legs off of so the legs wouldn't be stressed in storage, or the bowed glass on the dining room hutch on which they layered thick cardboard to protect the glass. There was an order to the loading and unloading as first, some of my household goods were unloaded into my temporary living space while afterwards the remainder of my household items went into storage. They took the same care putting down protective sheeting on the floors and stairs of my temporary living space. I wanted the storage area to have an aisle down the middle so I could access my boxes and furniture. I had my fingers crossed I had rented a large enough storage space. They arranged that storage area better than I could have imagined, and yes, I do have a center aisle and things didn't have to be piled too high. Really, you don't have to look further for movers. These guys won't let you down and I believe they are very competitively priced. Good luck with your move!

I was very impressed with Justin and Colin's professionalism. When they arrived, they assessed our furniture that needed to be moved and what their plan of action would be for the move. Colin did a wonderful job wrapping our furniture to ensure that it would not incur any damage during the move. When we arrived at our new location Justin assisted me with some changes that had to be altered to move the furniture into the home. Both gentleman were very helpful with all questions and concerns we had during the move and none of our furniture was damaged during the move. I highly recommend CMS for your next move.

I was so worried about the move, but this company showed up when they said they would and were very careful and efficient. The move cost more than what I had expected, but I don't think I was accurate when I provided the information for the estimate, and I will definitely call this company next time we move.

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST! The highest level of professionalism. Within 10 minutes of the movers arriving and starting to pack up the house I watched my wife's stress level decrease by 99%. They were courteous polite and professional. As soon as Will and his crew arrived they put us at ease. they handled all of our things with care and made sure everything was protected and handled carefully. They made sure there was no mess left behind once everything was packed up. Talk about impressive when it came to unpacking at the new house . I don't know how they maneuvered that big semi-trailer into the long winding driveway. It was incredible. The crew made sure everything was placed exactly where we wanted it at the new place as well. City Moving and storage responded to my request for information about moving help first and very quickly. My move was in two steps, first moving many belongings in boxes from a full storage unit to my new home and then a few weeks later moving the furniture and rest of the boxes from the newly sold house to my new home. The first move Sam and Kyle and one other young man (sorry, I did not remember his name) were the employees. They were great, polite and careful and worked quickly. Pricing was explained clearly. The final move of more boxes plus the furniture was just as smooth with Sam, Tommy and Brady. They wrapped the furniture, mirror, TV and were careful again not to bump or bang anything when they were carrying furniture down the stairs and out of the house. I was moved in three hours. They work quickly, are polite, positive and personable. I did not have to be concerned about paying for extra time because they worked faster than I could imagine (on the hottest and most humid day so far this summer). Not one glass broken! Thank you CIty Moving!

Bob, the Owner, was great in explaining their processes in detail (including COVID precautionary measures) and providing expert advice regarding moving certain "peculiar" pieces with his many year's experience behind him! Bob Fearing first called me while my apartmentmate and I were scrambling to find a decent deal on moving from our old apartment to another one within the same zip code, about 15 minutes away, in Minneapolis. We only wanted to move two objects, two objects we'd rather have stronger individuals lift. Bob cut us a really great deal, and when one of his crew was in our area, he rang us up and that crew showed up about a thirty minutes after that call. The move completed with an hour -- and it was a specialty job since it wasn't an entire room or anything like that -- with three movers, very funny dudes cracking jokes at each other and my apartmentmate and I. Energetic and talkative. Would recommend, CMS knows what it's doing, and their workers are terrific. Thanks again Bob, truly.

I was so pleased with the friendly, courteous service we received from everyone at CMS (City Moving & Storage). This was my first time hiring a moving company; and after hearing horror stories from friends it's safe to assume I was dreading it, but Trevor S. and Caleb S. were so wonderful to work with--they were prompt, very polite and extremely hard-working, did I mention that they were hard-working? Everything arrived at the new home in the same condition it left the old home. They even helped me disassemble the dog cage that wouldn't fit through the door and reassemble it on the other side. My husband selected CMS to move us-as they were the only company that would actually provide upfront pricing. We moved from Prior Lake to St Paul in November. Our movers (Waz and Brady) were on-time and did a very professional job wrapping up our furniture, pictures, etc. They were efficient and did not stop moving the entire time. Our new home in St. Paul has some unusual logistics and Waz and Brady were quick to adapt. We could not believe how fast they got us moved in. We were really impressed with the service they provided and would recommend CMS.

They had to carry very heavy furniture and exercise equipment up and down stairs in very tight quarters as well as a 200 lb Purple brand bed that rolls up, and make sure it cleared banisters too. CMS (City Moving And Storage) crew members David & Royce moved my daughter and roommate recently. The were an excellent team. they arrived promptly and were concerned about about every step of the move. They asked how we felt about their time management (How fast they were moving) They never stopped in a very orchestrated motion from when they arrived to clean up, They were very conscientious and polite. I am six days late in writing this review unlike the crews that showed up each day right on time.. Never had to wait a minute. I can say that Bri did an outstanding job scheduling around charges that were effecting our move. She matched crews, times, equipment needs and generally kept us informed all along the way. It was really a great experience watching and listening to these guys while they communicated and helped each other get through this move. They were coordinated, careful and were very positive. I admit there were times that we didn't know if we'd make it through the process. But, a smile here, and a word of comfort there, all went very well and at the end of the move in day, they made especially sure that all was where it was supposed to be....and that we were satisfied with their work. Not only did I feel his price to move us was fair, but he did everything he could to work with us in the whole process. I talked to Bob several times in prepping for my move and expectations of such. I rarely say this but in this case Bob and his crew at City Moving and Storage exceeded my expectations on ALL LEVELS! The price was spot on to what I was told. Beyond that the two gentleman that did the moving were professional in every aspect. I am actually blown away by this. Very, very pleased! I hope we never move again, but if we do I will be using CMS. We had Bobby, Remy & Quinn help us with our move. I was so impressed at how efficiently they loaded and unloaded all of our furniture and boxes. They went straight to lining our floors with a mat to ensure no excess dirt got on our carpets at our old or new home and went straight to work wrapping couches and some tables/dressers with pads and/or plastic. There were a couple items that got a little banged up in the move, but for the most part they wrapped everything up so it was transported safely. We were not moving far, so they loaded the truck twice and got absolutely everything to our new house for us. Bobby checked both at the old home to ensure they had gotten everything and at the new home that they had put things where we wanted/needed them. Very professional.

I had a very pleasant conversation with the owner, Bob, regarding setting up a packing and moving job to happen in a very short period of time. He comes across warm and trustworthy, and he did not disappoint. He sent Bobby and Bobby (yes two Bobbys) to my home within two days of my call to move out my 2 bedroom, tri-level, townhouse. The Bobbys showed up on time, were very friendly, accommodating, and did a professional job in a short period of time. My belongings were well packed and handled and my flooring was well protected during the move. Given that my home was being packed up in single digit temperatures with snow on the ground, I was worried about the floors, but they took care to cover the floors with moisture proof padding to avoid any damage. I personally feel like they went above and beyond what I expected. I wouldfully recommend using this company to my friends and family.

Laroyce and David came this morning to do a move for myself and my gf. I can't say enough good things about bow this went. They called us in advance with a good lead time to finish anything up. Once onsite, they introduced themselves and I showed them what was needed to be done. They got to work quick, were friendly and personable. Sofas, beds, and furniture all wrapped up with blankets for protection. Boxed items were handled with care as well. Once at the new location everything was brought to the rooms they needed to be with no problems. I'd highly recommended this crew for anyone looking to move.

I requested a quote for a one hour move of items from my basement to the upper level. When the movers arrived 1.5 hours late, they crew asked for more than double what had been discussed via email. When I spoke to the owner, he said they had a two hour minimum and a 75$ travel fee, despite the fact the movers were not traveling anywhere. When I asked why none of this was mentioned in the emails we’d exchanged and wasn’t reflected in the quote we’d agreed upon, he said I didn’t ask. I refused to pay the new amount, and to the owners credit, he agreed to the amount we’d originally set upon via email. Trevor and DJ completed our move in under an hour and did a wonderful job. Never quite got the bad taste out of my mouth from the pricing issue, but the service was good.

I came into this fully expecting to give this company 5 stars. The movers were very fast and did a good job however, I was misquoted a price and ended up paying more than I should have had to pay. The owner told me that he typically requires a 3 hour minimum but that he would waive this requirement for me as a courtesy due to my situation. He did not honor his word. Your word is everything. The movers scratched my bookcase and failed to wrap my television and my framed artwork as I asked. I reached out to the owner with no reply. They still cashed that check though! Never again.

I was looking for a moving service to lower a heavy refrigerator from second floor over the patio rail. I almost gave up after contact almost all moving companies (big and small), rigging companies and construction companies. Bob of city moving and storage is the only person who was positive that he can do this job, being end of month, though he was really busy he was available to discuss the options and schedule a time for us. With out using any expensive equipment his crew were very experienced and confident in lowering the refrigerator with out even requiring to sign a liability form. Really impressed with the communication, availability, expertise, positive attitude and scheduling. I strongly recommend any moving task especially difficult tasks of moving heavy items. I could give 10 stars if an option is available.

2.5 stars So here is my story with this company company. For starters everything sounded good, flexible company and could ha see our move. Packers came and packed our house (they did great), next day they loaded the trucks (still great). The movers the following day move our stuff into our home (still no complaints). Once the movers are completed I get a bill for 2X what the owner (Bob) quoted me on. So I refuse to pay and speak to Bob about the invoice. A few days go by and he gets back to me asking if I have documentation of the quote he gave me. Bob no you never sent me anything, I was referred to you by my brother in law. So we go back and forth finally I am frustrated and just plan annoyed at the situation so I agree to pay X amount. Which was still $500 more than he quoted me. I relay this information to Bob, he said “how can I make this right”. My response was this is your company and you can decide that. I receive a text saying he will reach out to me tomorrow. Well it’s been over a week since that text. My advice is get everything in writing from this company as it costed my wife and I $500 more than anticipated and that is only because I complained about the cost. What type of company gives a customer an invoice for 2X of the original quote. Be careful other movers with these guys, do get it all document.

I had an excellent experience with CMS Moving. I had gotten a quote from Two Men & A Truck that was $400-500 dollars more than what CMS quoted. Trevor & Greg were amazing. I couldn’t have chosen better movers if I tried! I am going into travel nursing and in an attempt to find a low cost living solution ended up in a bad situation so I wasn’t able to pack like I wanted and really take inventory of my things. I’m a recent cancer survivor and just couldn’t move myself again in such a short time.
