The process was fairly easy. Movers were professional and courteous. Getting a firm time for delivery could have been better. I was told I could request the delivery date, but they could not deliver when I wanted. I had to take an additional day off work.

Everything started out great. However, things went a little left with the delivery on the other side. It has been a week and the parts to reassemble my bed are still missing. I’m sleeping on a mattress on the floor! Also their 3rd party company crated my TV and then told me (once it was delivered) that I had to pay to have it uncrated… they finally agreed to uncrate it a week after delivery. Not sure what will happen with my bed… still waiting on claim response.

Loading was prompt, on time and no damage. The 8 day delivery window is a nightmare! Was led to believe that the extra days were if the truck had some trouble. We closed on the 26th of October 2022 a Wednesday. The target delivery date was the 27th We weren't allowed to deliver any sooner by our HOA. This meant we had no belongings at all and slept on air mattress with bad backs until Sunday. Company told us it would be Tuesday or Wednesday the following week. We complained loudly and the got it on Sunday. You need to explain that what delivery date you request means little to the driver hauling your belongings. We had everything in storage at the company warehouse beginning the 12th of October. Should have been enough time to accommodate our requested delivery. Not happy at all. The unloading went well with minimal damage.

Trucker here; Quick enough offload and didn't break the trailer. Blasting music so loud that I can't hear or communicate with you is just unprofessional and frankly idiotic. Puts a bad name to shipping and receiving people that truckers know all-too-well. This is not a review of other services offered by Planes.

While during the packing process I thought the team was doing a good job, I came to find out during my delivery that items were missing (parts to beds, tables), there was large chips in furniture, and my couches and dining chairs weren’t wrapped well and had dust/marks all over them. The woman that picked up my furniture from the warehouse even admitted to me that the guys that moved me out of my condo did an awful job wrapping furniture and she had her guys rewrap many pieces

Recently I worked with Joel Lucas and Ramon. I was beyond impressed. They delivered large slabs of marble to a condominium in downtown Chicago. They started on time, asking no questions since they had already researched everything. Each slab was picked up, shown to us, and then placed onto stacks to keep or return. I was amazed at how easy they made it, how smoothly it all went, and how delightful they were to work with. Joel Lucas and Ramon are on top of my list.

Joel and his team (Ramon and Sergio) did an awesome job with our apartment move, they showed up on time and packed our entire kitchen and living room in under an hr (which is crazy as we have wayyy too much stuff) and the rest of the apartment was pretty fast as well (which included disassembling furniture). The agent we dealt with, Brian, was fabulous. He worked with us through some very difficult situations and helped us get packed and moved in record time. He went way beyond the call of duty to make our move easy on us and a extraordinary success. All the people on the crew was very professional and worked in an impossible situation with Covid-19 regulations. The packed and moved our belongings with utmost respect and care. Everything was done with the same care or better than I would have handled my things personally. We had to move in a very short time, to two locations, a temporary home and storage for the majority of our things until we can get situated. Brian took personal interest and helped us through a very difficult time. We had considered doing the move ourselves but was so very glad we hired Planes Moving & Storage to do it for us. An incredibly hard working crew.. Joel was ahead of schedule, personable and professional and directed the crew throughout the move. It was incredibly hot both the day of move out and move in and they just kept going. They problem solved through a couple tricky situations and both houses were well cared for throughout. the time estimate on the front end was inaccurate, which resulted in a higher cost, but the movers were absolutely great. Joel and his team (Danny, Gabe, Gehrig) were excellent. They came today for a full service pack and move of my very large studio as part of my company’s corporate relocation package. Got the arrival window yesterday and they gave me a call when they were an hour away and showed up right at the start of the window. Super communicative throughout the whole process - real pros! I felt bad bc I live in an ancient building with no A/C and on the third floor, plus the truck had to go in a busy back alley shared with some nearby businesses, but they were real sports about it all. Joel encouraged me and my boyfriend to just go and relax and have breakfast down the street - so we just checked in every once in a while but it was nice to stay out of the way. They were in and out in a few hours and a really seamless experience! I would feel confident working with them again.

Joel Lucas headed up the moving team that arrived early for the job. Arriving early was the first sign that we had a great team working with us. They were with us for 7 hours and were as courteous and smiling at the end as they were in the beginning. We went through United Van Lines for a packing and moving service from Chicago to Southern California. Three gentlemen from Planes showed up on our move day for a full pack and move of our 1 bedroom apartment. They were extremely efficient, careful, and knowledgeable during the pack. They packed all our fragile items very carefully, and now that we have received all our items, I can confirm that nothing broke in our move at all. We did have a small mishap on the move day where the tabletop of our dining table accidentally got left behind in our building by the freight elevator. But, the guys came back to pick it up same day, and was delivered to us at our new place, no issues. I was really concerned that packing and loading on move day would take up the whole day, however these gentlemen finished packing our entire apartment and loading it into the truck in under 4 hours. I was very impressed! I would recommend this company to my friends/family for a long or short distance move any time.

It’s so worth it! Planes helped me pack up and move out of my Chicago condo. I have never used a professional mover for full packing services before and I will never go back to DIY again. They showed up on time and ready to go. In 6 hours the whole place is cleared out. I am very impressed by their speed and efficiency. Very organized! One thing I overheard is that they don’t charge by the box then reuse the boxes unlike other companies, which means they can actually write on the box vs the tape so there is no risk of loosing track of boxes due to ink smear. Clearly they have done this before so many times and I felt lucky to have them recommended by my company’s relocation services!

Omar and his teams were great to work with on moving day(s)! From our home assessment (which was digital and very convenient) to the move, there was good communication overall. There was a slight miscommunication between the organization and our movers about when they would move us in, which made our delivery day one day later than was contracted; however, we were moving our items into a mini storage, so that was not a big issue and the communication issue was resolved quickly. Nate called with updates frequently, so we felt in the loop the whole time. Summer is a busy time to move; however, we felt prioritized overall and everyone was very professional from start to finish! Thanks Planes!

I encountered some stress when we learned that the team in Washington DC (different movers) did not pack an heirloom antique property and it was broken. We work in a radiation oncology clinic. Our accelerator failed and we needed a new waveguide (an 8 foot long piece of copper weighing around 1800 lbs) delivered overnight to our facility. When the Fedex driver arrived, the loading dock staff was unprepared to unload such a large item. But we were lucky enough to have the guys from Planes Moving and Storage already onsite for another job. Even though this was an unscheduled job, they helped us both unload the waveguide from the truck and get it from the dock to the accelerator vault on the other side of the hosptial. They were friendly, very professional, and really helped us out of a bind. Absolutely fantastic!

We moved out of our previous house last May. While our new home was being renovated, most of our furniture and personal items went into storage. After five months, we were finally able to move into our new home. For previous moves, we had twice used a different local moving company in Naperville; but since it had been over 16 years, we decided to get estimates from several different companies. Although costs are always a consideration, so is customer service! The sales representative from Planes, Brian Weiner, stood out from all the moving companies I met with for estimates. He was kind, very professional and extremely reliable and timely with communication. Although he did not give us the least expensive quote, it was competitive and we ultimately felt most comfortable trusting Planes with our move and storage of our items. Our instincts proved correct as the entire process went seamlessly! Representatives from Planes keep in constant contact with you throughout the entire process. They told us for our move out that there would be four to five guys on our move out crew. Unfortunately, there were only three. None the less, the crew worked very hard!! I gave feedback to Planes that I felt it was very unfair to these men that they only had three on our job, which proved to be a long hard day for them. When we moved in to our new home, we had six! The crew worked very quickly (less than four hours). They could have gotten done even sooner, but they were so helpful in accommodating us to put felt on the bottom of all our furniture to protect our new wood floors. They were great! On both our move out and move in, we had very minor damage. Planes has addressed both. Moving is such a stressful process, and we are so glad we went with Planes. They are a great moving company, and I highly recommend you consider them for your next move.

All the Planes people are incredible. Our crew into Columbus from Chicagoland was really fantastic and our crew that did our move Thursday and Friday September 13 &14 were incredible. They were friendly, joyful and very, very hard workers. They treated both us and our possessions with tender care and concern. They moved like the energizer bunny throughout both days. It was horribly hot and humid, but it didn’t stop or slow them down. If I had a scale of 1 to 10 to rate these guys I would say a 15. They were so far above expectations that I am in awe. I am using these guys for a move that I have in Great Lakes, IL. It's actually on the Military Base so there is high security clearance and all of the movers have to be background checked. They jumped through all of the hoops necessary to get onto the base and go over the moving scope with my client so that we could get pricing back to the corporate office right away. They really made everything a lot easier on the client because they had good clean movers with good clean backgrounds. They do a really good job and every time I use them, they never let me down. I highly recommend them for any moving you may need done in Chicago.
