Appointment access to renewing license limits number of people present in waiting area. I think it is great, because I didn't have to waste time dealing with this. Downside is that I did have to make an appointment ahead of time. People who try to get fitted into the schedule must wait 2 and a half to 3 hours.

All the amazing ladies working here are very polite and thorough professionals. This is our go-to DMV for the past 10 years and I have witnessed first-hand how helpful they are. Just recently, while I was waiting my turn, a young lady out to get her license didn’t have the money and asked if she could return and pay. Immediately the kind lady at the counter offered to pay on her behalf. Appointments are online and preferred, and even if you walk-in, they try their best to accommodate you. One of the best DMVs in Minnesota.

Went looking to get some maps looking to go outside MN on a camping trip and while helpful the way the man spoke to us to see membership card was rather curt... short... belligerent... oh let's just say rude. His tone and the way he asked was not anywhere near what I would say was even close to polite..... no please, no thank you..... can I see your membership card please would have been the right thing to say... he just said "card" or "membership card" there was no "can I see your" preceding and no please or thank you. We got our maps but his attitude towards members was less than desirable and this guy really needs to aquire some people skills and the right way to address customers.

I'm so glad I made an appointment before I went in to renew my license. Angel helped me within about 10 minutes of my appointment time and I was done very quickly. However, the woman at the check in desk was sour and cranky and is not a good first point of contact. Perhaps she would be better utilized in a different area where she does not have as much contact with members. She also spent way to much time with the guy in front of me who was unprepared, cut in line, and didn't have an appointment.

I have been a member of AAA for 14 years. I have never once had a bad experience with them. I have used their car lock out service, battery jump, roadside assistance towing and their home lockout service. All good experiences. Great service, fair prices and peace of mind. :) 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

So incredibly grateful for and impressed with the 2 individuals who helped me tonight, Stephanie and Tony. I was out shopping with my two-year-old and my car wouldn’t start. The business we were at was about to close and I was afraid of how long we would be sitting there without help. I called AAA and they made me a top priority because it was just me and my little one. An associate at the store I was at ended up jumping my car and I was able to make it home. But the associate with AAA stayed in contact with me the whole time. She kept calling to check in on me and my daughter, and the gentleman she had called to assist me said he would go wherever I went if I needed help even though his shift was almost over. He ended up coming to my home to pick up my car and tow it to a shop. These 2 went above and beyond to make sure my baby and I were safe. Thank you Stephanie and Tony to your commitment to people who’d be lost without you!

We needed to renew a driver's license. We were able to walk in though AAA recommends you make a reservation. Our wait was maybe 30 minutes. Service was polite and efficient.

Renewing my DL, and DMV inside AAA again did a fantastic job. I highly recommend making appts for whatever you need as they take those before walk-ins...2 people sitting behind me had waited 2 & 3 hrs respectively, I was in/out in 30min. Also be sure to read directions and paperwork needs CAREFULLY online, I heard 3 people pleading and demanding, but it was clear they didn't read and understand what paperwork is required. Staff does a great job, thank you!!

My first dealings with AAA was bad (guy did not do what I requested, what was needed) making it so I had to call AAA the next morning, who guess what, did what I had requested the day before. He was super friendly, had knowledge, and was on time. I am a cranky Karen (not my real name) and will always complain. But this gentleman was so pleasant, I had to call AAA, back to rave about my experience that morning. He was wonderful, as was the young lady who answered the phone to help me through the call to set up the appointment. This next young lady let me ramble on about my great experience (had to praise her as well)! I was so impressed that in my next pay day, I signed up my brother up (he drives my car, but membership follows the driver, not the car) the next weekend, he hit a pothole hard just before he got to work, and my tire deflated, so he called. They got there before he was even able to start work. He came home telling me that he understood why I raved about my experience. It stinks to need a service like this, but when you get such wonderful service like what we both had we both feel much safer on the roads. Well run operation, great service from 6 out of 7 of the people we dealt with. Worth the money and 2 memberships we got!

We've had nothing but great experiences at this site. Both with the DVR and with the insurance agents. When we did a recent move, the agent could not have been more helpful walking us through the intricacies of starting and cancelling the new and old insurance policies and getting us the best rate. She even helped us find a policy with better coverage and lower rates.

Do not go if you don’t have an appointment. The few people that arrive early enough to be a walk in do not get called until all people with appointments have been helped. Since people slowly trickle in, there is no time to assist with walk in. Multiple hour wait to help just 1 walk in person. Minimal wait if you do have an appointment.

Time to renew Enhanced DL. I really liked the reservation system. No long lines or long wait. Maybe we learn some good things from Covid changes. I hope they keep reservations if/when Covid goes away.

I have been using this location for years for license tab renewal. Just renewed tabs in December. Make an appointment ahead of time so you don't have to wait long. Masks required. Check in right inside the front door. You'll be directed to the front counter to make sure your paperwork is filled out. You are then escorted to the check in kiosk where you will be given your number and directed to your socially distanced seat. I only had to wait 8 minutes for my number to be called. In and out in 17 minutes total.

So thankful this place exists for drivers license renewal as you can be in and out in less than a half hour if you're able to make an appointment. Unfortunately making an appointment is a bit of a joke as, at least right now, you have to log on to the website at midnight if you want to find any available slots, and click on "first available" which will likely be about a month off, and just for that one day. That's what I ended up doing and it worked out well but it took some trial and error. Fill out the info online, that will save time to you, the clerk, and the other people in line. The other thing they don't tell you is, if you want the fancier drivers license you have to bring a whole bunch of documents, including passport and / or birth certificate - not 100% sure here so do your research before you go. I did not know that so I ended up just getting the regular drivers license for $32 (also worth knowing is that they charge extra for credit cards so bring cash or checks only).

So long as you come prepared they are wonderful! The trouble and wait times lie upon those not prepared and/or project their frustrations onto the employees. I was seen as a walk in; waited a solid amount of time but the staff, from what I could see were great! People not liking the answers they got was the problem and that lies on those people and not staff!

I arrived at 7:15 am on a Tuesday morning and there were already about 30 people in line ahead of me. Mind you doors open at 8. Once the doors opened the line moved quickly because they were taking names/phone numbers. They would call you when there was a seat available inside. I waited in my car for about 40 minutes. Once inside I waited another hour before my my number was called. The process of getting a real ID took about 20 minutes and I was out the door. There isn't a great time to go as you will have to wait no matter what. The people I interacted with were nice and speedy.

As of June 2021, you STILL need an appointment to get inside (except if you only need tabs, then no appointment needed). Luckily, appointments are easy to make the same day of your visit and the website where you make one is found by an easy google search. I made mine 1 hour before I visited. As for the customer service once you’re inside. Same old same old.

Expect a 4 hour wait to renew license. Or make online appt 2+ months in advance. You get name in if you arrive around 8am. That's an hour in line. They'll call you later to come in. About 3 hour wait when you show up. Rather friendly staff. Just need more but hey no competition so why pay more staff.

Driver Services in a timely and courteous manner. They accept walk-ins but you must arrive 2 hours before opening because they only take so many transactions and some people may have multiple transactions. Getting an ID and registering a vehicle would count as two transactions. Registering 3 vehicles would count as three vehicles. AAA still offers many of the other AAA services. Have a visit and take a chance to explore.

Honestly the best DMV experience I've had, granted I was there an hour before they opened, I only had to wait about 15 minutes once they opened to get a DL renewal and I didn't even have an appointment. Pleasant staff as well 🙂 …

I used the MN DMV at the site. The AAA staff was great, well organized, all with PPE and set up to maintain social distances. They were very pleasant and helpful. My appointment only took 13 minutes, the fastest I have ever gotten a license renewal!!! I love the scheduling of appointments! I hope the scheduling of appointments continues even after COVID-19.

If you are going in for driver services, be prepared to wait. Fortunately, the staff there have made it as smooth as it could be. If you arrive before opening, the line outside could stretch a block because there are limited spots inside. Once inside, if you are going for anything other than tabs, they will take your number and call you to come back. Be sure to stay within 15 minutes of the place. However, it will probably take hours until you get a call to return. If you arrive past 11am, you will probably be turned away.

I had to buy tabs. For most things you need an appointment. I was a walk-in and it took awhile to get in to do a five minute transaction. If you don't want to wait, I would suggest using to 24 hour drive up.

Always feels like less of a wait here for DMV transactions than other locations, but bring a book or fully charged device. Utilizing drive thru window to handle tab renewals during covid makes it convenient, and tabs available to pick up the following day. Staff is friendly and informative. The only thing I would change about this location is that I wish you could see and confirm photo for id and retake at least once.

I will give credit to the lady in counter #1 today 3/26/21 at 0800. She was professional, compassionate, calm, and faster. She gave us (2 people/couple) same service at the window within a short amount of time. That was so so awesome 👌. But the hassle of coming at 5am to camp at the door in cold Minnesota winter, nah! Not good at all. And then to see how many people were sent away after camping and waiting outside in the cold for like 3hrs? Covid sucks! I know is covid that has made these many changes.

So today Saturday 24th October I was there at 7am hoping to get tabs and register a car too. At 9.15am we were told they can only attend to 25 1st people who were there....I was the 26th one and I had like 60 more people behind me..... tough year people ! Plan ahead. Weekends is great time to be serviced just make sure you are among the 25 1st people.

I would definitely received mmend them but come two to three hours before they open on Saturday and sit your behind in line because a) they aren't doing appts; b) they can only do so many transactions per day and they fill fast.

I was first impressed with the Covid reception and directions to the right team member. The front desk team were very helpful directing me to the gift shop team member for my passport photos and to a travel counselor to answer my visa questions. The woman in the gift shop who takes the passport photos and transactions was exceptional. Our common interest in the Camino Way in Spain and her plan to return a 2nd time to walk the 480 mile walk to celebrate her 80th birthday was the highlight of my visit.

I heard great things about the licensing bureau here and how quick it went. I needed to get my license switched over from another state and knew I needed to take the knowledge test. I checked the website and it said they issued licenses and permits. I then sat in the waiting room for two hours staring at a TV displaying informational slides. It wasn't until I had been here for two hours that I saw a slide saying that they do not offer testing. This was very disappointing. However, upon a return to this location (after passing my test at the Plymouth location), the excellent customer service I received from Christie at the front desk has greatly improved my perspective on this location.

3 stars, just because it's the only one closest to Mpls that offers walk in services. I feel they can be a little more prompt with how there is demonstrated. You go in for a walk in just to sign your name & contact info and also the reason for your visit. They tell you they will you contact you when they get to your name on the list. So much for getting there 20 minutes before they open and stand in line for another 20min with your fingers crossed because there only taking that many walk In's for that day.

Went in Saturday, around 10, place was packed, I was updating tabs. Understood the wait. Nothing to do but observe, and the team I watched was amazing, behind the desk. Smooth processing , calm, professional associates. The associate I ended up with my transaction, allowed a gentlemen to go back out to his car and retrieve needed documentation and come back to her station, without falling back in line, same individual ran out to return left items personally to a customer, she was above and beyond. When my turn came, she thanked on all forms being completed, I commented “what a crazy busy day”, she replied “this is not bad at all”. Did not catch her name, she hates spiders, and rocks her job!

I showed up to renew my tabs and update my driver's license on a Tuesday at 4:45 pm. I waited for less than five minutes and I was out of there by 5:10. Faster than any DMV I've been to, maybe I got lucky with the time I went!

I went to the AAA DMV for tabs for a pop-up camper. It was on a Friday and at about 1PM. The was about an hour and 45 minutes. Seating was full capacity with a stack of chairs set in the corner. In watching the Queue flow, it took an average of about 5 minutes for each person to be processed with an average of 3 of the 5 lines being open. I am giving less stars because watching the employees, there was zero attention paid to the large amount of people waiting and they never had the counters 5 slots all operating at the same time.

Waited in line for a half hour and they couldn't help me with my new license request since I'm from wi. I understand they can't predict everything but they could do something. Like have an attendant at the DMV area entrance to help with questions or explain what they can't do better on their Google listing or site. But, the service behind the counter was really friendly and apologetic.

Look nobody likes the DMV and only boring people like work. However, AAA made my title transfer easier and faster than any DMV prior and Linda my amazing teller gave me the information i really needed without any BS and did that withouth making me feel like just another person to cross her desk which i almost expected with the number of people there during my visit. Value comes from getting more than you expect. And while AAA is better that the run of the mill DMV a teller like Linda is what let me leave with exceeded expectations.

I'm not sure what everyone is complaining about. My friend recommended this one to me for my vehicle needs. I used to go to the DMV on Chicago ave in Minneapolis, or the one in the government center, and they both take forever. After one visit to this location, I will NEVER, EVER, set foot in either one of those again!!! At this location, everyone, very clearly and plainly, speaks english. There are no communication problems, so the line moves quickly. I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes. The staff is courtious to me. Like most customer service people, they're only rude to you if you're rude to them first. If you think this one takes too long, try the two that I used to go to and you'll come back to AAA kissing their feet.

Lots of helpful things, but using their DMV-like service has been a nightmare. Unlike the real DMV, this place doesn't update the post office or register your address with voting. It's been almost a year of import mail not reaching my new address before I figured it out.

Found the DVM very helpful. I had a complicated situation and they assisted me to get it taken care of. The employee wrote down step by step what I needed to do to get my situation resolved, contacted the state to confirm some information, and then told me that if I came back that day with the information I needed, I would walk right up to her and she'd get it completed. When I returned the employee was on break but the person who sat next to her remembered me and took me right away. She completed the process. Though there was a bit of a wait initially, it was more than made up for in the knowledge and helpfulness of the employee's working there. I would highly recommend this office for DMV needs. They were way faster than Ridgedale and far more helpful.

Fantastic service with employees that treat you with respect unlike government DVS locations. Although the wait was long (due to increased traffic with the new Real IDs), all employees were kind and were clearly working hard. I will never go anywhere for license services but this location.

Service wait time depends on time of day, whether during week, or weekend. Also depends if last weekend if the month due to procrastinaters renewing their tabs, etc. before expiration, typical of any service center. Received exceptional service regarding a passport photo; photographer was very particular and professional. AAA now has Minnetonka location.

I visited this AAA branch to get a triptik and maps. It is summer and peak travel time, so I expected a long wait. However, I waited no more than 10 minutes from check-in to the time I was assisted for my triptik. Everyone I encountered was very courteous and knowledgeable, from the person who checked me in at the Welcome Desk, to Daphne, who assisted me with my TripTik. I received excellent service, and would highly recommend this AAA location.

I just got off the phone with Carrin L. From AAA and she was AMAZING! My husband forgot his international license in the US and we are in Italy for our honeymoon at a very secluded resort were having a rental car is important to go see the nearby towns, etc.. we tried having the license mailed to us but the postal service in Italy is not very reliable. Cari went through several files to find his hard copy for his application and approval, photo copied it and waited patiently on the phone until it went through via email and text message! I've had AAA for years, for my 4 wheelers and two wheelers, and when I've needed roadside assistance they've been there in a timely fashion and with appropriate equipment. Once after a holiday party on a cold snowy night we were side-lined with what turned out to be a transmission issue on my four-wheel drive vehicle. We called AAA and they were within 40 minutes with a flat bed truck and hauled the truck, my wife, and I home. After doing some research, we ended up having it towed a couple days later by AAA to the Lexus dealer. On 4 July 2014 we were on a motorcycle trip that landed us in Alliance, NE for a night. Our bike started acting up and needed expert attention. We call AAA the morning of 5 July and within 30 minutes a flat-bed truck was there! The driver was very friendly and friends with the Bauerkemper Honda dealership in Chadron, NE. He called ahead to the service manager to alert them to our issue. The tow distance was 75 miles and was totally covered. When we arrived the Bauerkemper techs dove in immediately to assess and correct what was wrong, topped off the oil, topped off the coolant, checked the tire pressure, and hand us back on the road within an hour. Stellar!! We're sold on AAA!

The Google page isn't very clear, nor does the AAA website list this as a branch so I was a little confused. To clarify, 1/3 of the building is a DMV center filled with ornery people and the remainder is a AAA branch with the usual services, a travel shop, and helpful, friendly staff.
