Tyler was awesome. I told him my budget and he worked his magic and got me a fair price. I will have to let you know the condition of the product later it's being delivered Monday. I was told it would be a clearance item that was returned with in 120 days of purchase and he assured me it would be like new.

I talked to Kevin on the phone a day earlier. I went into the store with a vague idea of the type of mattress I wanted and brands that I wanted. Kevin showed me a number of mattresses and I tried all of them. He was patient while I went back and forth between them before making up my mind. He also demonstrated an adjustable base, which I knew I wanted. It was a good shopping experience. I was able to take my time and absolutely no high pressure. Adjustable base was damaged during delivery. Damage was cosmetic and not visible when bed is On made. The store made an offer that I feel is fair.

Update: 9/25/22 The mattress we bought ended up being defective. We went into the store to find that Tyler was at the store. We showed him photos of the mattress and he made it right. Delivery is pending but the art of customer service is not dead.

He respected my price range, was honest about the mattresses I asked about and didn't pressure me to purchase something more expensive. Very pleasant experience purchasing a new mattress at the Mattress Firm this morning. Kevin Corby is very familiar with the mattress lines available at the store and easily answered our inquiries. Best attribute was that Kevin never tried to prod us into settling on a more expensive mattress nor on any of the accessories. For people living in the south St Louis area I definitely recommend a visit to the Mattress Firm at Chippewa and Hampton.

Very happy to know that great customer service is still a priority to a business. My girlfriend and I were very pleased with our visit here with Kevin. We came in looking for a Tempur-Pedic mattress, but Kevin showed us comparable products with no sales pressure. We purchased our mattress on a Sunday afternoon. The salesman, Steve greeted us as we walked in and helped us understand "the drill": First, we'd figure out which level of firmness we'd want, using a color-coded system, and then move on to specific brands & models. He set us up with pillows and invited us to try the different levels of firmness. While trying the beds out, Steve kept the conversation going, talking about what a great company Mattress Firm is, the number of stores, generous return policies, etc. As we were narrowing down our choices, Steve was joined by Matt, one of the managers (I think). It took a long time, and continuously testing 2-3 mattresses that interested us. Steve and Matt were just great the whole time, joking around, making us feel very comfortable the whole time. We eventually purchased the Clermont, along with mattress protectors and a set of linens, and arranged for delivery the following Friday. (That was our choice.) Friday, the delivery guys showed up on time and were equally courteous and helpful, installing the mattress protector for us. We're sleep happy!

I recommend going directly through a store, the woman who I spoke with was very helpful and even helped me load it into the truck. However, when I originally tried to purchase online the website glitched out and didn't give me any order number/confirmation after I ordered. The order didn't go through, so I went through the store but by then the delivery was delayed by another day through no fault of my own. I couldn't get ahold of any online customer service person through chat, phone, or email to correct this issue.

I decided I was long overdue for a new bed and starting searching the web. I decided on Mattress Firm quite frankly because they had a 48 month 0% financing offer. The one on Chippewa was the closest to my house so one night after work and completely exhausted I stopped by just to look. I had already been approved for the financing but was not ready to pick something out that night simply because I was too tired. It was a cold night and close to the stores closing time. Since I'm also in retail management I knew the two gentlemen working there were probably tired from a long day and ready to go home. So I walk into the store and was promptly greeted by Dan. I told him my story...I'm tired...it's been a long day...I'm already approved for the financing but I just want to look. Dan was very nice and professional and said he understood. He told me how the store was laid out and about the color coded material on each mattress that tells you the type of mattress it is. I looked around for a few minutes and laid on some mattresses. Well it only took me a few minutes to decided on a memory foam mattress and I started asking questions. Dan and the manager Matt had all the answers. They were polite, friendly, courteous and not pushy in any way. They were so nice that I felt comfortable enough to go ahead and stay and pick something out. I purchased a Serta Savant memory foam queen size mattress to be delivered in a day to my home and I left happy. It was a wonderful pain-free buying experience but the best part is what happened next. At delivery time it was discovered that the foundation (box spring) was too big to make it around a corner and into the room I wanted it in so they left the mattress and took the foundation back telling me I needed to call the store and arrange for a split queen foundation to be delivered. So I call the store and ask to talk to a manager. I get someone who was not Matt and I really do not remember his name but later I found out he does not regularly work at the Chippewa location. I tell this manager what happened and he says that I will need a split queen foundation that will cost $100 more and I will have to pay another delivery fee. I also asked him about upgrading to a king size because I know they always have split foundations and I was on the fence when I bought the queen anyway. He figured out how much that would cost and told me the amount. I then explained to him that I felt like I should not have to pay for the delivery fee if I stick with the queen because how was I to know that the one-piece foundation would not fit. He agreed with me and said they would waive the fee if I stuck with the queen but I would have to pay for the delivery if I chose the king. I thought that was completely fair and told him I would call the store the next day with my decision. I decided to stick with the queen because the king was $500 more and I didn't want to pay for another delivery fee. I called the next day and Matt was back. I told him my story and he told me no matter what I wanted to do he would not charge me another delivery fee. He was so nice and friendly. He apologized that they did not ask more questions about the room the bed was going into and for any hassle at all. In the end I bought the king size mattress and am thrilled with it. The mattress itself is wonderful but the buying experience was awesome because of Matt and Dan. As a store manager of a retail outlet I know more than most how valuable someone like Matt is to an organization. I mean I was going to buy a mattress there no matter what because no other retailer had 0% financing for 48 months but it could have been a bad experience, instead it was a great one. Thankfully the store is being managed by someone who understands customer service. I highly recommend this particular location of Mattress Firm. If you need a mattress its the place to go for sure.
