Westside Massage is the place to go!! My husband and I see John there, and he literally saved my husbands hips and back. He is SO knowledgeable, professional, and kind, and gives us very helpful advice for stretches and techniques to do at home!! I’ve gone to massage places for years, and John is by far the best massage therapist I have ever been too. HIGHLY recommend!!!

My partner and I had an absolutely wonderful experience here! We went for a couples massage for my birthday and this was actually our first time ever having massages. The staff was extremely friendly, happy to answer any questions we had, made us feel very comfortable and relaxed throughout our entire experience, and even had follow up care to provide at the end. The overall setting itself was magnificent - candle lit, soft music playing, and just extremely relaxing. We will definitely be visiting again! 10/10 would recommend!

Went to Ursula to get a deep tissue massage and my back has not felt better in years! She took her time and got rid of all the stiffness and tightness in my back! This is my third day since her massage and I still feel loose, no back pain or tightness. Not only did she give a great a massage but she also consulted me about my back and body. I've raved to every one of my friends how incredible the owner, Ursula and my therapist, John are! The expertise, skill and kindness paired with their focus on healing the community makes for a lovely experience. I've already booked my next visit! Westside Massage is located downtown in the McKay Tower, lower level. Elevator access to the floor. There's VERY easy/convenient parking close by for my anxious friends out there- don't let that deter you! Open lot parking and ramps within a block. While there are several options for different bodywork services, the focus is very much on you as an individual and what your needs are. Beyond a typical relaxing massage, Westside offers many experiences that include; prenatal massage, medical massage, couples massages, deep tissue work, and energy work like Reiki, mindfulness training, etc.

My husband and I had an exceptional couples massage inside the old bank vault with Ursula and Autumn. Ursula and Autumn are masters at their craft and even gave us advice afterwards about issue areas. The bank vault ambiance is a cherry on top. I wish we lived in Grand Rapids to get regular massages. Communication and customer service was easy and professional from the time we booked to the time we paid. Parking was easy with the ellis lot close by, and our service was phenomenal! Randomly found this while searching for a massage and I'm so glad that I stumbled onto this hidden gem! Ursula was able to get me in same day for a deep tissue with John - he was FANTASTIC! Did the 1.5 hour session, and I walked out of there calm, relaxed and stress free. The Atmosphere was amazing - room was very clean and John was attentive to all of my needs. Will definitely be back for another one very soon! Highly Recommend, A++. They also do discounts for various professions, students included, so ask about that as well!

My husband and I came for a couples massage. HANDS DOWN the best massage I’ve ever received and same for my husband! They even gave me free things for my birthday. The massage took place in what looked like an old part of the bank where lock boxes were. SO COOL! We will definitely be returning and I would recommend this experience to everyone!

We had a wonderful experience this afternoon. Ursula and John helped me setup a wonderful couples massage for my husband and I. First, we had a teaching session with John. He was very helpful in teaching us each techniques and giving us hands on experience with how to find the right hand placement and pressure. After my husband and I each had a 30 min. teaching massage, he and I each had an individual hour massage. John was phenomenal at stretching and working out my tight and painful areas. Ursula did an amazing job relaxing my husbands tension. We are both extremely happy that we were able to do this on our trip to Grand Rapids without our kiddos. It was a lovely and relaxing bonding experience. We are so appreciative to Ursula and John for all of their time, care, and professionalism. Ursula runs an incredible business, John has *fantastic* hands, and they both provide such great energy to be around. I cant rate them highly enough, or this place of business. My husband and I did the couples massage and it really was great! We each had our own time receiving a massage and had time to learn how to give one, very personalized. The second one I had was a deep tissue massage and I feel like a brand new person afterwards! If you have any doubts about this place, they're alleviated as soon as you walk in. I had the chance to experience my first massage here done by Danielle. And it was AMAZING. Danielle was very attentive and made sure she knew what was bothering me so she could spend more time in those areas. I feel much better, almost lighter. The space itself was very clean and had a cozy, comfortable atmosphere. Such a welcoming environment! And at the end, Danielle showed me several stretches that I could do at home. It's very clear that she enjoys what she does and gives 100 percent with her customers. I cannot wait to come back for another massage!

The deep massage made me feel lighter than air and 5 years younger I swear! I went to Westside Massage for a prenatal massage. I've long suffered from sciatic nerve pain, and it's only intensified in pregnancy. Danielle was my massage therapist and she was INCREDIBLE. She was waiting at the desk, welcomed me, and showed me where the massage would be taking place. She was kind and thorough and made sure to take time to ask me what was really bothering me physically and stopped periodically to make sure I was comfortable. I felt welcome and very well taken care of. It was clean and relaxing inside, all the staff were very warm and welcoming, and the whole experience felt very personal and calming. I will definitely be going back! The owner is easy to get in touch with, extremely knowledgeable, and deeply invested in our community and its wellness. I highly, highly recommend!!

But the ladies were fantastic. They didn't just go through the motions of a massage. They paid attention to points that were sore/knotted/etc. 11/10 we will come back next time we are in town!

I had my first ever massage at Westside Massage and it was honestly life changing for me. John helped create a comfortable, safe space for me and I greatly appreciate it. The massage was a definite ten out of ten. I went in feeling tense, and a little anxious but I left feeling calm, and well rested. The business is clean, and provides a relaxing experience. I was one of those people who wanted to get a massage but never did because I felt I didn't really "need" one. However, after having one I would definitely say that I would get another because I already booked my next appointment. John was a wonderful massage therapist, and such a great person. I've had a few (6 different massage therapists) professional massages. I found Westside on Groupon- where I was looking for a deal on a good massage. From the start, Westside stood apart- I liked that I could "meet" all the staff on their website by seeing their pics and reading their profile. They are also good about responding to reviews and they had some of the best reviews. So I chose them even though they weren't the cheapest deal I found- and I'm so glad I did! All my massages have been good, but I've been looking for great. And John at Westside Massage was the best of all of them! I felt comfortable with him as soon as we met and his pressure was perfect... but he was still good about making sure his pressure was good with me. I also loved his use of a warm towel- it was lovely! I also liked the ambiance at Westside. It's a cute little hole in the wall spot that has a perfect balance between relaxing and professional. I've already gone back for a second massage :) The only thing that keeps me from going here as often as I'd like is price. The normal prices of their massages are about $70+tip -that's a bit high for me. But it is worth every penny :) All in all tho, their Groupon was a great deal and my best massage ever!

Best massage I have ever had! Seriously, on every level. First of all, Ursala is an amazing owner and person. She runs a very professional and safe massage business. Second, the atmosphere, from the color of the walls to the salt lamp in my massage room, is relaxing and comfortable. Next, my massage by Jaime was truly the best massage I have had. Perfect pressure, safe, professional, relaxing, and restoring. Last, I sat in "The Queen's Chair" after my massage, trying to come back to life, and fellowshipped with Ursala, her husband, and a few of the massage therapists. I was in desperate need of relief from sciatic and lower back pain and I'm so glad I picked Westside Massage! I had John Shipman and he did a great job. He said that area is actually his expertise and was very helpful in explaining what the different muscles do and how they get imbalanced and also gave me some stretches for that area after the session. I felt much better after I left from our session! I could tell he is very passionate about his job and making people feel better. Great to talk to and very compassionate person. Sometimes I feel nervous having a male masseuse but not with John at all! The building itself is very clean, relaxing and nice looking. Highly recommend!

I've had professional massages before but nothing like this. We had a couples massage inside a old bank vault by Ursula and Autumn. The experience was beyond exceptional. You take a questionnaire so they know what areas to focus on and I can say they definitely do their homework. We was the last massage scheduled for the day but they definitely didn't slack. First time ever getting a massage and I was a little leary on the whole experience. But I was blown away from the moment we walked in the door. We were greeted by John and Danielle and immediately all my worries went away. Danielle was amazing and focused on my hips where I have the most pain. I was in a car accident 2 days prior to my massage today and was experiencing some whiplash and sore muscles. Thankfully they were able to get me in for a deep tissue massage short notice. I recieved an email response from Ursula within a few minutes and we were able to set up an appointment. The massage with Jamie was amazing, and I left feeling a huge difference in the tension in my neck and shoulders. I went from being in pain and kind of grumpy to feeling relaxed and giddy! John and Ursula did an excellent job of working with me and my fiancée, Sarah. I received deep tissue massage, and Sarah received the “Sweet Serenity” massage. We both received use of CBD oil, this service being the main reason I chose to try Westside Massage. I have neuropathic pain in my lower back and legs, and I left having a huge reduction in my baseline of pain. John focused on my problem areas with expertise and was able to answer questions on the anatomy of my issues. The room was private and relaxing, and both John and Ursula were certain to make sure Sarah and I’s needs were well met. Sarah told me she enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere, which included Ursula’s respect for silence throughout the massage. She said she felt relaxed afterward, and her neck and shoulders were feeling much better. John and Ursula seem like genuine individuals, and their skills in massage will have us coming back again for their services soon.

I worked there, at the old location. From my perspective, as a therapist, it was not the optimal environment for massage treatments. You could hear sessions between rooms and I never felt a true sense of having clients be able to fully relax (or at least that was some of the feedback I had received) hopefully things have changed at your new location. As a benefit of the doubt. I've upgraded my rating for your location to a 3.

While I have had massage at Westside since their opening, I wanted to share about a new therapist in the studio. I'm awaiting a total hip replacement to be done in January. Without my regular hip joint injections, my pain has escalated to the point of miserable. I have recently seen Danielle who is new to Westside.
