David and his staff are great! They changed all our locks, and did so very quickly. We had one problem lock that they had to take back to the shop to work on. In the meantime, they put on a temp lock so we were able to lock up at night! I highly recommend David and A Cheaper Locksmith. Very reasonably priced, trust worthy and friendly. I would definitely use them again and again!

Great pricing and fast service. I needed a special key that has to be programmed to the car via computer. They copied the key, programmed it to the car and were paid in 15 minutes. The price? It was 1/2 the price of anyone else and 1/4 the price of a Ford dealership. They also have a wall full of neat key rings and tons of key fobs. You will love their upscale attitude.

The terror set in as I heard that familiar door closed and locked sound to then see my keys sitting in the cupholder. I was at work panicking , of all places I would have to spend more time at, I’m now stranded at work. Figure might as well ask the boss for some OT to cover the overpriced bill I was surely about to receive. Right there in the name, A Cheaper Locksmith to the rescue! I barley had time to ask the boss for OT before I had to turn right back around and meet my hero! Even though my car is a little older and has some dents dings and scratches already, precise care was taken to not add more. My keys were in hand in less than 3 minutes! Turns out they are not A cheaper locksmith. There are THE cheapest locksmith. Was able to pay in cash from spare pocket money in my console, with a well deserved tip. I hope to never need them again, I am who I am though and I will be calling them next time. Cheaper doesn’t mean not quality with this company!

Cheaper in this case DOES NOT MEAN of lesser quality. This place is the best and the least expensive. CALL THEM FIRST, if you need a locksmith. My car stopped recognizing my only key to my car. They got me a replacement and programmed it for significantly less than anyone else.

Very professional and Knowledgeable. Was in and out in 15 minutes with two totally functional key fobs. One was my spare that I had only used once and had to use manually when I locked my main set in the car. When I went to go get the batteries replaced in one, figured might as well do both. Turns out the spare had actually never been programmed to my car. David recognized the problem and fixed in in minutes. And pricing was great! NEVER go to a dealership for key fobs, always go to A Cheaper Locksmith.

Brought in an after market car key for programming that ended up being a dud, with both the technician and his boss trying multiple times to get it working. With no success, I bought an OEM key from them for cheaper than the after market key. They cut it an programmed it quickly even though it was close to closing time. Both were very helpful and the price was the best I've seen in the area. Highly recommend!

What I will say is already in the name but super affordable keys! I have a lot of Honda’s and their keys are awful. They had a repair kit and cut it for way less than I was expecting. These will be my go-to guys for keys moving forward. Very knowledgeable.

Store front is hard to pinpoint because MAPS is off point about 1/2 mile. Once you are in the little shopping center (just before the Big O Tires) and go SLOW you will see the locksmith. They worked hard to take care of all the customers coming in, one after the other. I appreciate the guys who really tried hard to get my new key to work in the door of my car. The owner David is always available during business hours. I had a double cylinder deadbolt that I didn't have the key to, he told me how to get it off the door. He re-keyed all of the locks for my new house in no time at all. I had a weird lock on my storm door that I couldn't figure out how to get off, he patiently explained how to get it off. When I couldn't get the deadbolts back on, he (ever so) patiently fielded my phone calls. I wouldn't go anywhere else! His prices beat the competition, he's great with his customers and I felt that he was always honest with me regarding my best course of action. I love this company!!

My parents live out in the country in Shelby County and last week lost the keys to their car. After two days of searching for their keys over the weekend on Monday morning I called two other locksmith services in the area and by 10AM had not even received a call back. THEN I CALLED A CHEAPER LOCKSMITH. At this point I would have paid any sum. They immediately answered the phone and listened as I explained the special needs involved as my father has difficulty hearing. I was quoted a fair price and scheduled the service. Within 20 minutes I received a call from their technician, Austin stating he was 30 minutes away. He was ringing their doorbell within 25 minutes! He was VERY professional and courteous to my parents. He had their car started with a new key and key fob within 15 minutes and then charged even less than we were quoted for the service. I was Highly Impressed! I'm not sure that a FIRE TRUCK could have gotten to my parents quicker from nearly 40 miles away! This business has EARNED my loyalty for any future locksmith needs and I will highly recommend them to ANYONE!

Needed a key replaced for my vehicle. Called several dealerships and other Locksmith's. "A Cheaper Locksmith" was a 1/4 of the price of dealers and much cheaper than other locksmith's (not to mention they had the key in stock, so I didn't have to wait weeks for a replacement). I would recommend.

They are AWSOME!!!!! My friend lost her keys to her car so we started calling around getting prices we called these guys an they was the cheapest an the nicest! They told us 95$ to get the key we drove from new Albany Indiana and they ended up only charging my friend 50$!!!! Cause they felt bad for her. They are amazing people i highly recommend them! Initially, I had made an appointment but had to change it. Unfortunately, the change was not communicated to the person who was supposed to work on my door locks so he showed up at a time that I was not available. Secondly, he was supposed to show up on the following day between 11am-1pm but didn't show up until about 4pm. However, he was courteous and apologetic for the error. A lack of good communication within the business caused some problems. Ultimately, things worked out.

I went to A Cheaper Locksmith about a month ago and I was just thinking about how nice they were to me. I went there to get all my new car key's chips synced so they all worked on my car. They didn't have the machine they needed to do the syncing right then, but one of their employees rushed back to the store as fast as he could to do the job for us. When they were syncing the keys, they found that one of our keys was not cut properly, not their fault, and so they quickly re-cut the key for me and it worked great after that. They then finished the syncing and gave me a VERY fair price for their services. I don't know if my story makes any sense, but I was very impressed with this business and their kindness and quality of service that they gave to me. They are very honest and friendly people there. i would recommend them to anyone in the Louisville Metro.

Found this place on Google today, reviews are solid and I liked the name. Called them up with hopes the could duplicate a key for a roof carrier that was broken in half, he had me send him a picture of the key to verify he could copy even if it wasn't broken, 5 minutes later he said he could do it. The picture I sent him saved me a drive and I really appreciated that. I headed up there, 10 minutes later I had two copies that are working perfectly. Friendly guys in the store, definitely know their stuff and the pricing was true to their name. Not bad at all. I will be back

He listened to what I needed and from those conversations was able to do even more than I expected. He made sure I knew what he was doing and explained everything along the way, he even taught me the inner working of locks. These guys are GREAT. I bought my daughter a car that came with only one key and no remote. Several other places quoted me a chip key (I gave them year/make/model) and said they'd have to order remote. Went to this place and they told me I did NOT need a chip key (saved me $65), plus they had the remote in stock, and instead of the quoted $124 from other places, it was $70. Would highly recommend. Once other owner arrived with what I needed, was in and out with programmed remote in less than 15 minutes.

I highly recommend “A cheaper locksmith” because of great pricing, quick response time and they actually answered the phone.They have come through for me twice.I originally did business with them several years ago when I was out of town on the day after Thanksgiving when I was unable to contact any other locksmith. A guy named Jay came through for me then to let the cleaning person in. I kept their number in my phone. The second time was when I lost the only key Fob, Blake came out and was awesome. They charge me $392 to make a new key fob, since I had lost my only one, added a back up key Fob and that includes coming to my house. Everybody else’s prices were anywhere is from $400 to $500 and of course the dealer was $462 and that was just for one key fob. so I highly recommend “A Cheaper Locksmith.”

First off, I typically do not leave reviews, good or bad. However, I was so impressed with the job that Rob did for me that I felt compelled to share my experience. I had lost the key to my Jeep Wrangler and one locksmith had already been out to try to make a replacement key. I was told that the key for the ignition was different then the key to the door and that I needed to replace the ignition. I called A Cheaper Locksmith, and based on the information that I was previously provided, they also said that I would in fact have to have a new ignition. Their cost was quite a bit cheaper so I went ahead and had them come out. Rob called and let me know that he was 20 minutes out, and for the first time that I can remember, he actually arrived in 20 min. I explained the situation to Rob, and he apologized and told me that I had a transponder key and the cost to replace the ignition and make a key was going to be $35 more than I was quoted. I wasn't happy but what was I going to do? He went ahead and made a key for the door, and low and behold, he sat in the driver's seat and turned over the ignition. I feel like most people would have simply changed the ignition, charged me more, and went about their way. But Rob went above and beyond by checking to see if the information that I had gotten was correct, and by doing so created a customer for life. Not only did I not have to replace the ignition, I didn't have to pay the inflated amount, and he he saved me 20% of the originally quoted amount. Rob's attention to detail and expertise, turned what might have been a negative experience due to the adjusted price, into one that I felt the need to share. Because of this, I would never think about calling another company when the need for a locksmith arises in the future. Thanks Rob!

A cheaper locksmith lives up to its name and slogan. The service is reasonable priced, but they deliver a high quality service. I got locked out of my car recently, with the keys in my trunk. No spare. They came in and unlocked the car in no time, without damaging the car in any way. The guy that came out was very nice to talk to and very friendly. They even charged me less than estimated and the whole experience was very pleasant. All in all, the service part was awesome. The reason I'm giving it 4 stars is that they had made a spare key that was not needed for the emergency lockout procedure. They told me I could go pick it up, since it was already made. They charged me 55 bucks for a basic, non-chip, non-laser-cut key. I do think the price was very steep, and I would have gone with a different locksmith should I had the will to do so at the time. They just caught me off guard on that one. This, of course, is completely separate from the lockout service provided, and I dealt with a different person for the key than the one that actually got my car unlocked. [UPDATE] Not even 10 minutes after I posted the original review, I got a call from A Cheaper Locksmith. They admitted that I had in fact paid too much for the key. When I answer with an ironic/joking "Do you think so?" they explained the matter better: Since I didn't deal with the same guy that performed the service earlier when I went to pick up the keys, there was a miscommunication and I was charged for the full service again, or something like that. Since that was the case, they actually went on and voided the transaction, so that I would get a refund for the 55 bucks that I had "paid for the key". Having them apologize and own their mistake [including the refund, that I really appreciate] actually speaks even better of them. We can all make mistakes, but not everyone will actually make things right. Some unscrupulous businesses would perhaps kept the money and say nothing. So, props for this guys and 5 start rating this time. They earned my business, though I hope I don't have to use them again [not for lockout emergency services, anyway], haha. [UPDATE]

Went to Cooks Locksmith first after they told me over the phone they could program two new remotes for my sons Mazda RX-8. Once there, they became reluctant to do so for fear of disabling the car and suggested I take it to the dealership. I called A Cheaper Locksmith instead and the gentleman (forgot his name) told me that if he couldn't program it no one could. I took it there and 30 minutes later had two working remotes and keys (he had to add the chips to the keys because I ordered them without). Would very much recommend this business. Very friendly and accommodating.

I was locked out in the middle of the night. He called when he left and when he was 5 minutes away. I really appreciated these updates. It took him 10 seconds (maybe) to get in. He never acted as if I was an inconvenience to him or that me being locked out at 1 in the morning was just going to ruin his day. The prices were also the cheapest I could find. He got me in for 85 and everyone else's was going to be more than 100. He gave me some of his cards and now my whole family keeps them in their wallets. Seriously. If I could give these guys more than 5 stars, I would. I was out for a walk and locked myself out of my home. It was 100 degrees and I had my 3 year old in a stroller. These guys rock the house. I'm from Phoenix and lost my key to my 2011 Infiniti G37. I called everywhere. No one was able to program my key faub. The technician that was sent out to perform the work was incredibly fast, showed up with a cut key, programmed my keyless ignition and did it with professionalism and deep technical know how. I was shocked. I had this done in Phoenix and it took over 2 hours. The Infinity dealership wanted me to tow the vehicle in and charge me over $600.....and Infiniti lied to me and told me only they could do it. This company was honest and PRO LEVEL. I cannot recommend this locksmith enough. Not only does the guy running it (David) provide honest and excellent customer service he's very likely the best bargain in town. I priced Cook's, Klein's and Car Keys Express before I went to him and he was slightly cheaper than all of the rest. Initially I went to Bachman Chevrolet and while Bachman gave me a great deal on my key fob itself (they threw in laser engraving at no extra cost) they couldn't program the chip for my 2008 Saturn Astra XR. I went to A Cheaper Locksmith and David initially tried to get it programmed at no cost but my car wasn't capable of programming the chip. I was afraid David wasn't going to be able to program the chip either but he succeeded where the dealership failed. I could have saved time and money if I had just come to A Cheaper Locksmith first. As long as David is in business I'll never make that mistake again. A Cheaper Locksmith is now my go-to smitty. I'm glad I found him.

I called on a Saturday and setup an appointment, and the key was ready to go WHEN I ARRIVED! Call these guys for all locksmith services needed.

I had such a hassle calling locksmiths and dealerships trying to get a key made to not only unlock my car, but start it as well. Just about every locksmith was telling me it would be a $15-25 fee just to check it out, then pricing would start anywhere from $100-119 and go up from there. That was a lot as it was, and then the dealership told me it would be $60 to make a key, and then another $100 plus, just to program it to the car. Anywhere else priced me anywhere from $170 to $200. A Cheaper Locksmith charged $135 flat rate, and then $35 for a second spare key to be made, totaling $170 for the whole thing, which would have been give or take the low end of the other prices, for just 1 key. A Cheaper Locksmith was super friendly and helpful and I would absolutely recommend to anyone. Hopefully I never have to need them again, but if I do, I sure know who to call!

Rob came to unlock a stubborn, old deadbolt on my condo. It was an old mechanism that got locked accidentally after miscommunication with a plumber. Rob ended up having to drill the lock because it wouldn’t unlock due to age/corrosion - and he even had a replacement to fit the hole so you couldn’t tell.
