I love Midwinter! It all began when I found a ring I loved on Pinterest.. I was beyond excited to be supporting a local, small business who ethically sources their stones AND gives back to their local community. Fast forward to my appointment where i was greeted by a warm and inviting environment with friendly and informative staff and a beautiful selection of stones.. fast forward again to a month before my wedding where I stopped in for a new ring (a gift to myself). Their staff was more than happy to work with my vision of what i wanted to create and guided me to a ring I love.. Midwinter stepped it up a notch by showing me earrings that matched my engagement ring perfectly that could be worn on my wedding day. They also cleaned my ring for me right on the spot. This company goes above and beyond with their friendliness and customer service. I will be a lifelong customer of theirs and can’t wait to see how they continue to grow!

Midwinter Co is amazing! When my fiancé and I first started talking about getting engaged I decided to look around to see what I liked. I quickly became overwhelmed! I remembered hearing about salt and pepper diamonds and knew I loved them. I did an Instagram search and stumbled upon Midwinter! I reached out and was immediately greeted with such kindness and help. When we went for our appointment I was so relieved to see a space that wasn't sterile and filled with fluorescent lights and rows of glass jewelry cases, but a cozy intimate setting with a round table. All the rings and stones were set out like a treasure chest. Sara and Kim are very patient, kind and knowledgeable. They answered all of our questions and never made us feel rushed. They explained the whole process thoroughly. Sara listened to our story and we even shared a personal moment about me feeling happy and sad that my mother isn't here to share this with us since she has passed away. I was even thinking about flying to Delaware from California to see the beautiful rings in person! I didn’t have many requests when it came to an engagement ring but the ones I did have were I wanted a ring that will be passed down to my future grandchildren, have a unique diamond, and to be from Midwinter Co. My fiancé hit all three! He loved going in person and designing a ring and was so appreciative that they sent him a 3D printed mock up of the ring setting. This is my dream ring and the process of getting it has been so fun and easy. They were extremely helpful, professional, and very polite throughout the whole process! My fiance worked with Midwinter Co. to custom make my ring, and it is easily the most beautiful piece of jewelry I have ever seen, not to mention, it was within our budget! The stone he picked was a color-changing sapphire, and it seems like there is a new color or tone to see every time I look at it. My partner and I ordered a custom engagement from Midwinter this year and we couldn't be more happy with that decision. Because I am very picky with my tastes, my partner and I decided that it would make the most sense for me to pick out my own ring. I decided that I wanted a very specific ring that I couldn't find at any jewelers- it only lived in my head. This was when we decided to customize the perfect ring. The only problem there is that my partner and I are both totally clueless when it comes to picking out jewelry- let alone ordering a custom made piece. After TONS of research online and comparing different jewelers against one another, I finally decided that I wanted to work with MidWinter to create my dream engagement ring. What sold me on MidWinter is the fact that they are a small business who specializes in bespoke designs and ethically sourced stones. Furthermore, I feel that it is more important than ever to be intentional with the businesses that we support and I felt really good about working with a small, family owned company as opposed to one of the big, national box chains who pump out thousands of the same rings every day. Something else that I think is really special about MidWinter is the fact that they give back. 10% of their profits each year are donated to charity. I mean come on- talk about feeling good where you put your money! MidWinter's designs are all incredibly beautiful. Each ring tells a story and is unique to the next. These are not the everyday rings that you'll find at a Zales or Kay jewelers- these rings tell a story. After making the decision to work with MidWinter came the fun part- actually building my dream ring!! I reached out via email and heard back from Barb, the customer service representative within an hour. I couldn't believe how incredibly sweet and responsive Barb was. Like I said, this was my first time ever looking for jewelry so this was an intimidating process, but Barb went above and beyond. She held my hand *virtually* through the entire process. She allowed me to ask as many questions as I wanted without ever making me feel pressured. She made suggestions and helped direct us as we ventured into totally new territory. I've seen a few of the other reviews raving about Barb and I wholeheartedly agree. I seriously can't say enough about her. I should also add that I live in Oregon... Far away from MidWinter who is all the way across the country in Delaware. Not being able to work face to face with a jeweler and try on rings in person made this process significantly more difficult. However, MidWinter rose to the challenge and truly made me feel like I was there all along. Because my ring was custom, that meant that we got to work directly with the designer to mock up a CAD digital rendering of the ring prior to it being casted in metal. I was able to be as nitpicky as I wanted and got every little detail PERFECT. Being able to be part of this process so intimately really made me feel confident and assured that this was exactly the right decision. Finally, once the ring shipped, it arrived in a beautiful velvet box. The ring was clearly cared for beautifully before it arrived to me. It's even more beautiful in person. I've been wearing it every day since we got engaged and it's absolutely perfect. I took it to get resized locally (although MidWinter does offer a free resize!) because I couldn't bare to be without it for more than a few hours! I get complimented on how beautiful it is DAILY. I can't wait to find my perfect wedding band to accompany my engagement ring sometime in the near future. Thank you so, so much MidWinter for helping me craft my dream ring. Couldn't have had a better experience with Midwinter Co. Even in the middle of Covid-19, they were able to create my custom Orion engagement ring and ship it to us under their expected timeline! The stone my fiancé originally purchased as my center stone was accidentally listed online even though it had been sold, but within a day they had emailed him apologizing and offered him 3 gorgeous stones that were unlisted for him to choose from... and I ended up getting a larger stone for the same price! Midwinter Co. was the best decision I could have made for an engagement ring. I do not know the words to express my gratitude to this company, but I will try my best. I started off looking for styles and cuts of diamonds I would like on different well known diamond stores and I could not find anything that remotely matched my style. I was never too enthusiastic about finding the perfect engagement ring, and was not something that I was overly concerned with. However, the more I browsed the more I realized I probably would not end up wearing any of the rings I saw available at various stores. Nothing really sparked my interest and I began to wonder if it was really worth getting a diamond ring for a proposal, and then to never end up wearing it. However, I stumbled upon Midwinter Co one day in my google searches. How delightfully surprised I was at their unique style and selection of diamonds, I instantly fell in love with their aesthetic and thought to myself, I finally found something I actually would not only want to wear, but truly LOVE. I immediately contacted their Operations Manager Barb, and we began this wonderful journey of making my own custom ring. Needless to say even though I was in love with the selection of rings available on their website, I wanted the ring to be just right if I was going to commit to this, and I was nervous about custom making my own through an online service. I was hesitant about making the commitment without ever seeing anything in person. However, Barb went ABOVE AND BEYOND to help make sure every single thing was well cared for and the attention to detail was astounding. She sent me mock ups, videos of diamonds, and above all she provided me with her own suggestions of what she thought would align with what I wanted based on my feedback from different conversations we had. We spoke over the span of a few months, and at times I was beginning to feel like I was potentially being "annoying" with different requests for mock ups and not being able to decide on a diamond without actually seeing it. And again, I must say that Barb provided the utmost standard in customer care and made me feel SO comfortable to ask her anything I wanted. She always made me feel welcome to change my mind and provided so many options (but not too many to feel overwhelmed!!)...the diamond I eventually decided on was something that Barb approached me with via email. She sent a link of a video of the diamond asking if this was what I was looking for. AND IT WAS PERFECT!! She accented the diamond with exactly what I wanted (black diamonds), and when I was worried it was going to look "too much" she offered more mock ups to see exactly what it would look like in different band options. ***I really felt like the final product was a perfect collaboration between what I wanted, and an expert opinion.*** What more could you ask for?? As I said before I was never too interested in finding the perfect engagement ring prior to my experience with Midwinter Co., and now that I have this ring that is so lovingly an expression of myself, my personality and style, I cannot stop staring at it!!! I have been complimented by all of my friends, family, and fiancé on how perfect the ring is for me. I really cannot say enough about how excellent this experience was and how overjoyed I am with the final product. We also collaborated and bought the wedding band together during the process :) When the ring was finalized and ready to be made, I forwarded the email to my fiancé and he took it from there. Again, he would like to extend his thanks to Barb who made the buying and delivery process so very easy. We are located in Ontario and had to deal with Customs for the rings, but it was effortless and there was *no stress*. The pictures do not do this ring justice, it is more beautiful in person and I really cannot thank Barb and everyone at Midwinter Co enough!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this business to anyone looking for a unique custom ring that is a little bit different than your standard engagement ring, but still timeless and elegant.

We designed a custom ring with Midwinter and had a wonderful experience. I had a very specific idea of what I wanted and looked around at several jewellers, but Midwinter stood out as the best choice for us. It's important to me that a piece of jewelry I am going to wear daily reflects my values, so I loved that Midwinter donates 10% of profits to charity, uses ethical stones, as well as using their platform to take a clear stand on social issues. In addition to all that, my ring is so beautiful. I loved looking through their gallery of stones and found the most perfect opaque black diamond for my ring. We also loved that they sent us mockups during the design process so we could see what it looked like ahead of time. We live in Canada, so unfortunately were not able to visit the shop in person, but their awesome customer service (thanks Barb!) helped us feel comfortable in making such a big purchase from far away. Would highly recommend Midwinter to other couples looking to get engaged or to anyone looking for a beautiful piece of jewelry.

Got my engagement ring through midwinter and I love the ring itself, it's absolutely beautiful and they were really accommodating when we wanted to change the size of the centre stone. Really quick communication as well. My only problem with this company is that they advertise contour/customizable wedding bands, but the trick is that they charge an additional 350 USD at least to customize the band to your ring. I'm sort of surprised they charge this when you've already bought the engagement ring through them and the wedding bands are made to order. It seems like a bit of a money grab and in that case, we will be going through another seller to get our bands.

My fiancé and I chose to create a custom engagement ring with Midwinter due to their unique stones and sustainable, charitable practices. Through the process, Midwinter created digital mockups of multiple settings, adjusted both the height of the setting and the prong locations, and got on the phone with me to answer questions I had. Midwinter even overnighted the shipment so the ring would arrive for our engagement photo session. The quality of craftsmanship, the absolutely stunning center and accent stones, the setting design, even the engraving: EVERY detail is beyond expectation, and we will forever be in debt to everyone at Midwinter Co. for all that they have done in creating such an incredible ring and experience for us. If you (yes YOU, reading this right now) are looking for a genuinely stress free, personalized, exceptional engagement ring shopping and/or designing experience, congratulations: you've found it! The journey towards our beautiful ring was unlike anything I could have ever hoped for. I'm not sure about the rest of you, but for me, shopping for an engagement ring was as exciting as it was daunting. And nowadays, if you even think about an engagement ring, you'll start seeing ads for at least a dozen stores online within the next thirty minutes. I stumbled upon Midwinter Co. and their instagram page after reviewing a number of photos I'd saved while wandering deep in the rabbit hole of Pinterest: to my surprise, a good 75% of them were all from MWC. Now admittedly, I had some initial reservations before contacting them given that I live four states away from their shop and would need to do the entire process online. But the rings in front of me were just too unique and beautiful to ignore, and so I sent what would become one of the most important emails in my life to [email protected]. Immediately after receiving the first few responses from Barb (who deserves her own 5 star review), I knew I'd reached the end of my search for the perfect company. In a matter of days, we set a timeline, and hit the ground running! There are not enough positive things to say about midwinter! And this review is long overdue. My husband and I picked out a custom engagement ring together and Midwinter did not disappoint. When it came time to get my wedding ring I picked the most perfect little ring to compliment my engagement ring. The quality is amazing but Midwinter really went above and beyond when it came to receiving my ring. Both rings were shipped and there was no issue receiving my engagement ring. However, when it came to my wedding band FedEx was extremely negligent and unprofessional. FedEx delivered it to the wrong address and after a very stressful couple of days trying to track it down FedEx couldn’t remember where they delivered it to. Midwinter was quick to respond and shared the frustrations with me. They sent me a new wedding band immediately at no extra charge. I absolutely adore both of my rings and couldn’t imagine them any different. They went above and beyond and I even talked my best friends fiancé into an engagement ring from midwinter. I LOVE MY RING FROM MIDWINTERCO!!!!! When my partner and i ordered our rings, the center diamond that we bought to go in mine had already been sold, and through a fluke on the website, we weren’t able to see that it was sold! Midwinter reached out to us and sent us other options as a substitution and i ended up falling in love with one that was quite a bit over the budget we had planned for. I cannot recommend Midwinter enough. My fiancée purchased my engagement ring from them and it's absolutely beautiful and just the kind of dainty ring I've wanted. We were particularly excited that it's a family business using ethical and recycled materials. So when we decided to get married, of course we went back to Midwinter. We wanted the rings to be matching but still reflect each of us and our style. So we chose rose gold (same as my ring) with a brushed/matte finish, but I ordered mine curved to follow the countour of my engagement ring whereas my fiancée's is a flat, wider band. We had some last-minute changes in plans and needed the rings to arrive in a little over a week. So we placed the order and emailed the company asking if there is any way to expedite them. Barb responded to us and not only did she overnight ship them to us as soon as they were ready, but we also didn't have to pay anything extra for the expedited shipping. Several years ago they made my dream ring, but I had just got married so no hope of a new engagement ring. My experience with Midwinter Co. was spectacular. This is a business that truly cares about its customers right down to the most minute detail. I shopped around the internet for salt and pepper (celestial) diamonds and came upon this company and was instantly blown away by their selection and customization options. After several days of browsing through their online catalog, I came upon the diamond and setting I desired and placed the order. I requested they rush it because I planned on proposing within the month (28 days later to be exact) and it was over the holidays. Within a couple of hours I received an email from Barb explaining that she would do everything possible to rush my order but there were no guarantees...she even asked if I wanted to cancel since there was a chance it wouldn’t arrive in time. I trusted her word and said no and I’m so happy that I made that decision! Within 11 days the ring was at my doorstep! An incredible turnaround and the quality was second to none! I had been looking at their rings on Instagram for months, completely in love with just about every single piece they produced, and my fiance surprised me with a sit down session with them to figure out what style of ring/stone would be best for me. I ended up leaning towards a lab made moissanite in a custom color, partially because of my tendency to beat up jewelry (I cook professionally and -wreck- my hands reguarly) and the ethical points of a lab made stone that just made sense to us. Oh man am I glad we went with that choice. About 2 months after my fiance proposed my stunning ring disappeared while I was working. I still cannot determine if it was stolen from my locker (left there for safe keeping) or if it was dropped as I was leaving, either way, I tore the building and parking lot apart with coworkers and it has never resurfaced. I was beside myself. Our families hadn't even seen it yet in person due to Covid. We did -not- have ring insurance, but had bought the warranty offered on the ring initially from Midwinter. My fiance unbeknownst to me had contacted Barb (who we initially met with, she is wonderful!!!!) And asked what our options were....Barb somehow, someway, worked something out with my fiance and had the same ring remade for us in the middle of holiday madness. It arrived last week. It is as beautiful as the original and I cannot thank this company, the wonderful owners and staff enough for whatever they were able to do for my fiance.
