I had such an amazing experience with Malka diamonds. I had the pleasure to work with Jennifer, who was absolutely amazing at helping me out with my limited knowledge about rings/diamonds. I went in wanting to see and know more about their Salt and pepper diamonds. I also had the chance to compare the salt and pepper diamonds to the classic traditional diamonds. I ended up loving the salt and pepper diamonds because of the unique inclusions in the diamond. I ended up choosing the Kite salt and pepper diamond and it really feels like I'm wearing a galaxy on my finger. Love the Malka experience, diamonds, customer service, and it's history.

Began the engagement ring search process and quickly realized we wanted to support a local jeweler in Portland. After researching, I found Malka and scheduled a visit and knew immediately this was where I was going to buy my engagement ring from. I worked with Chloe throughout the process. She was very helpful in guiding me in the diamond selection and then bringing it all together with the engagement ring design. Even during the times where I would question the perfect design, she help point me towards the perfect ring based on what we were looking for. I am from Los Angeles and was recommended to Malka from a friend in PDX. Ronnie worked so closely with me to find a ring that was a fit for my particular style. When we couldn’t find one exactly how I wanted, we started the process of building a custom ring. Ronnie was very willing to work with me and offered me excellent ideas. Prices were very fair and the ring was shipped to me as soon as it was finished. Overall very happy with my experience and would recommend Malka anyone looking for an engagement ring or fine jeweler, regardless of location.

My fiancé proposed with a placeholder ring and I knew I wanted to get my permanent ring from Malka. Chloe was fantastic. We started looking at settings, and she could tell within 60 seconds that my eye were on the prize- the diamond! I enjoyed that she showed different lab and natural diamonds. She compared clarity, color, and cost. It can be very overwhelming, especially since a natural diamond is thousands of dollars more than lab grown with the same age exact specs. What’s the difference you mask ask? Not a damn thing. Expect the way it is produced. Lab sparkles the same, and is more ethical. And more mindful of your wallet. But hey- if the cost of a natural diamond is in the budget, go for it. But it not, you’ll be just as satisfied with a lab grown. I know I am. My ring is pretty simple but absolutely gorgeous. I got a 2ct round lab grown diamond with hidden halo and diamonds on the band. I originally thought I wanted a hidden halo with a plain band. But then figured what the heck- get the extra bling! I changed my mind a few times, and Chloe was accommodating every single time. She was patient as we selected the ring perfect for us. I was initially worried going into this ring shopping experience. I was slightly insecure that we didn’t have a big enough budget for what I was looking for. The reality is- it does not matter. And Malka does not make you feel like it matters. They want you to be happy with your jewelry choice, while staying within your budget. You don’t have to be Kim K. to have beautiful jewelry. You just need a vision (and budget) with a jeweler who can make that vision come to life. We will definitely be getting our wedding bands from Malka and I can’t wait!

What an awesome family-run jewelry store. David is an absolute expert (seriously, he's one of the few GIA gemologists in the NW). I came to Malka on a recommendation from a friend, looking to have my late nanna's old diamond ring refashioned into an engagement ring. I didn't have the biggest budget, but Dave talked me through all of my options and never once tried to sell me anything I didn't want or couldn't afford. He designed a beautiful ring that used my nanna's gold and small diamonds, and helped me pick the perfect center diamond for the ring. Dave's whole approach was all about which diamond was best for me, NOT trying to sell me the most expensive diamond. He actually ended up recommending one of the less expensive diamonds because the cut and the color were the best match for this specific ring. There’s no pushy sales pitch at Malka, just lots of friendly, expert advice. My wife and I have since gotten engaged and married (this review is well overdue) and she is absolutely in love with the ring! It is clean and classic and holds so much sentimental value for both of us. I really can't describe how thankful I am to Dave and the whole staff for their help. We ended up coming back to buy both our wedding bands, and will come back to Malka for many years to come.

I emailed some of my idea for a custom ring design before my appointment and Chloe was prepared with some of their special designs that matched the style I was looking for. I was new to the process and Chloe was a fantastic help to get my ideas together for a ring design and walked my through how the process worked. Through a few CAD designs she was responsive to small changes to the design and Malka ultimately produced exactly what I was looking for. Couldn’t have done better!

We had a great experience with Malka. I pre-ordered a diamond from another big store but unfortunately, they couldn't get it set in time (they need to mail the diamond to another city and usually the wait is > 2 weeks, plus not feel comfortable when your diamond is getting sent by mail). So I reached out to Malka, as they have the setting just I wanted. I received Ronnie's response quickly even it was not office hours and she told me that they are able to set it within a few days, what surprised me more is they were able to get a diamond that has the same features (hearts and arrows!) and in a lower price! I then returned the diamond from the other store and went fully with Malka. They did the measurement thoroughly and get my ring set the next day, and provided us with a free appraisal for insurance. I'm very happy about the whole experience and highly recommend Malka to anyone who's interested in the speedy implementation, customization rings, and great customer service.

Ronnie and the whole team have been wonderful - from my engagement ring, to our wedding bands, to pearl earrings for Mother's Day, a necklace after the birth of our third son, and most recent diamond earrings for Christmas. Their show room is beautiful and stocked with a lot of great looking diamonds. (You won’t see them from the street as their shop is on the second floor). From my very first interaction with Jennifer by phone to the moment we left with the custom ring on my finger, from conversations with Ronnie to David’s jubilant call that the ring was ready, our experience with everyone at Malka Diamonds could not have been better. Initially we worked with Jennifer, who soon brought in designer Chloe. I’d brought a few photos from the internet to help with the general idea I had. But what I really brought along was the memory of a ring that I saw once, on someone's hand, about fifty years ago! Chloe was wonderful to work with, as she patiently and expertly helped me go from my vision to the actual ring that now sits on my very lucky finger. Her attentive listening and extraordinary attention to every detail showed that she clearly heard and understood what I envisioned, and what mattered to me. Having a large selection of rings in the showroom also helped. Chloe was able to show us many different rings, to give us an idea of what individual parts of my ring would look like, from the shape and thickness of the two bands that would hold the new setting to the way my diamond would sit surrounded by a halo of smaller stones. Not having bought a diamond ring in more than 40 years, I was surprised and then delighted when Chloe sent computer created photos and even a CAD movie of what the finished ring would look like. The wax mockup I tried on before the actual ring was made confirmed the size would be right and that we were all on the same page. I will admit I was still a bit nervous that the finished ring would somehow fall short. But it is spectacular and more beautiful than I ever imagined. Typically my husband and I do lots of comparative shopping, for items both big and small. But we knew after our first visit to Malka that we had found the right place and need not look any further. We both highly recommend Malka Diamonds with no reservations at all. May you have as wonderful an experience there as we did!

After visiting just about jewelry store downtown and out at the malls, I purchased an engagement ring from David at Malka Diamonds. At the chain stores, I was turned off by that feeling of marketing blitz and a sales push, as well as the followup calls. I was looking for something more meaningful than just plunking down a credit card and getting taken for a ride once again. She is going to be wearing this ring forever, hopefully, so that experience mattered to me more than it normally would. We decided on a vintage, 1930s ring. Malka has a good selection of classy old rings, and they are completely restored by their in-house jeweler. In addition to modern styles, they actually have new rings that are designed to look vintage... I think we looked at every ring in their cases. Actually, I think we looked at every ring in within the city limits. David is a gemologist. It was a down to earth, quality experience. There was no hawking over us, it was comfortable. My fiance even checked out the ring a second time at her lunch hour. It really was a great experience.

I went to Malka without reading reviews. Initially I came to sell my beautiful Tacori wedding set that I had bought at a consignment shop impulsively earlier this year. It was uncomfortable because it had diamonds and decoration all around it. Ronnie was very helpful and suggested some different options. The ring had CZ as the main stone and after consulting with Ronnie I decided that I wanted a colored stone in it to make the set more for fashion rather than daily use. She said they could order a stone and also make the ring more comfortable to wear. The price quoted was very fair and they did exactly what they said they would in the time framed promised. When I bought the ring it was bent and a little big. I had asked another jeweler to size it and fix the bend but she said she could not fix the bend it was to difficult. Malka not only did the requested work beautifully, they also made the ring a lot straighter in the process. I will absolutely be back, hopefully very soon!

The reason I selected Ronnie and the Malka team was because unlike the other jewelers trying to push anything they could, she took a consultative approach to learn my fiancé’s style and helped me design something unique for her. The customer service at Malka is great. The selection is great. There is no sales pressure at all, they only help you find the piece of jewelry that you're looking for. My wife was steered towards a less expensive ring as it better matched the style she described to them. We found Malka after visiting a larger "friend in the diamond business," thinking that the latter's selection or prices might be better. The experience at the larger store was off putting; you see someone at the front, you wait, you see a second person who hurriedly shows you as many rings as possible in a short amount of time all while trying to get you to commit a deposit, then you go to another room with cashiers. The team at Malka is very professional, I have a wedding ring from my mothers side of the family originally purchased in the 1850's but it was too small, not only did they adjust the band, but they polished it and cleaned it which I didn't even ask for. I also can't even tell a difference in the band. Two thumbs up and I will be back for all my jewelry needs.

When we talked about getting engaged, my dear friend suggested my now fiancé and I head to Malka, and I am SO GLAD we listened. I’ve never owned a ring of any kind and barely ever wear jewelry. I didn’t know if I even wanted an engagement ring, but I figured we’d try some on and see how they felt and look at wedding bands while we were there. We set up a time to sit down with Ronnie, who was incredibly flexible and responsive over email, and she was...I don’t know how to describe it. Magical. She made me feel so comfortable, and she adjusted our path with every little thing I said. She made suggestions but didn’t make us feel pressured in any way. She showed me a lot of different options, which was exactly what I needed to decide if I wanted an engagement ring. We wound up picking a stone, and she said she’d hold it for me and wrote down all the things we discussed so we could talk it over. We put the deposit down, and the ring was ready within the timeframe Ronnie described. When the proposal came and I saw the ring, it honestly took my breath away. I don’t know how Ronnie took the mixture of things I said in our appointment and turned it into a ring that feels like ME, but here we are. I could not be any happier with the outcome and with our experience along the way. I’m so grateful we found Ronnie and the Malka team, and I’ll treasure the ring forever!

This company is the best! We had them custom design my wedding band (which was a fairly intricate design). I essentially gave them a napkin drawing, they made a few suggestions to improve the design and within a very reasonable timeframe they delivered back to me the most beautiful and perfect wedding band! To top it off, on a separate occasion, they took the time to fix my engagement ring, which was not even purchased through them. They fixed the prongs, straightened a couple of the diamonds that were set poorly and got it back to me within a week. I trust these guys 100% and could say more about the quality of work that they do!

i have a very old chain that i wear everyday and it snapped in half. i called malka and they were responsive and so kind. unsure if they were going to be able to fix it based on where the chain had broken, they said that they would do their best and if it wasn’t repairable that they would be happy to help me find another one similar. lucky it was able to be repaired and done so perfectly plus in an incredibly timely manner. i would definitely recommend them for repairs. also i window shop there often and their selection of vintage jewelry is magnificent.
