Visited here today and was not disappointed. They have some amazing coins and jewelry to look at but also some more budget friendly pieces as well. The staff there, while busy, were very helpful and friendly. Their bullion prices are a bit high but not unreasonable. I don’t know much about fine art pieces or sports cards but if your into those they have that as well. I myself bought two beautiful morgan dollars and it might not seem like much but they knocked 5 bucks off one of them without me even asking. I will definitely be coming back here, 10/10 experience!

I've always been skeptical of these places, until I went inside. I was amazed by the historic items and antiques they had for purchase. Items, in my opinion, any history collector would immediately want for their own. Nicholas (Nick), an employee, engaged me in conversation and found an item that would peak my interest. A "Connecticut Colony Currency" created and printed 2 weeks before the American Revolution. The price was more than fair, and I left that establishment with what felt like a museum piece in my hands. I highly recommend stopping by and seeing what items they have in store.

Great customer service. They are busy as it's the Holidays so you might have to wait. Worth it. They take their time and answer all questions and you don't feel rushed. The place is heavily guarded by the police and I really liked that.

Didn’t like the fact they put ID information in a computer to use a debit card. Understand the verification of name on card but not to collect information. Privacy is important to me. Had purchased from them before using card no information needed. Beware if you have concerns.

We had the most amazing experience here! My 12yo son has recently gotten into the hobby of collecting coins. He really wanted to go to a storefront to look at wheat pennies, instead of simply purchasing them online. We drove all the way from The Woodlands, because we had heard of their outstanding customer service. We were not disappointed! Elliot went above and beyond with helping my son. He answered any question asked, and even got out books to help explain the value of the coins he had/wanted. I truly felt like we wanted a “mom and pop” experience and received it. He allowed my son to sort through pennies and pick the ones he wanted to keep. I can’t say enough good things about the customer service here! We definitely will be life long customers! The kindness that I was shown and honest appraisal that I was given when at US Coins was unparalleled! I asked them what they would pay for an inherited watch. I did not tell them that I had been somewhere else. There offer was 25% more. After doing research. I came to realized they were working at much lower margins then any shop I had found in the area. I let them know and suggested that they could work on a little bigger margin (after my transaction was finished of course!) but Mr. Kenny Duncan Jr.’s answer was, “That’s not how we do business.” Since then I have liquidated hundreds of thousands of dollars in Gold Coins and Silver bars. And I have never even considered going anywhere else. I have since found out that Us Coins IS the industry’s most respected rare coin dealers in the country. They deal in the cream of the crop multi million dollar coins on a regular basis and there check is good as gold. I don’t usually write reviews. But sometimes you get service and are treated so fairly that I feel this is the only way to express my appreciation for doing business the right way. I urge you if you have anything to sell or if you are looking for that real rarity go there and ask for JR. They will know who you mean and tell them you are there from A happy customers review from Google!

I think they do a great job. Courteous, professional and SAFE. For people thinking they are being low balled on their sales or hit with a premium on their purchases this is retail. Deal with it. Trade on ebay and craigslist if you don't like it and risk getting robbed, scammed...or worse. There is a lot of expense to running a place like this. It's like fort knox with all the security and what not. With that said, their prices on silver and gold are the best I've seen, even online. From what I've experienced, they are discounted at around 7 to 10%. If you're getting ignored while shopping it's because the reps are dealing with people coming in and selling stuff. Just come back at a slower time and they'll give you more attention than you'd like. Tuesday mornings seems the slowest.

Extremely pleased with my first purchase from US Coins and Jewelry. Although I bought only a single ounce of silver online , the customer service was perfect. Pricing was very good also. I needed to purchase collectible coins for an out-of-state family member, but my coin collecting knowledge is very limited. Nick took the time to patiently explain the difference in current and potential appreciation value as well as the difference between grading agencies and "stamps". He had multiple opportunities to remain silent and allow me to purchase something my family member would not have been happy with. Each time, Nick spoke up and prevented me from making a purchase that was not right for me. I went to 2 other coin dealers before coming to U.S. Coins & Jewelry. The other places seemed a bit sleazy. U.S. Coins was honest, professional, clean, organized, and helpful.

I prefer buying at coin shows but when I do buy I almost always go to US Coins and I have been buying from them for almost 10 years. Friendly professional staff and safe environment. They get real busy sometimes on a Saturday but thats normal for these times. Their prices are fair and they usually have a good selection of bullion. Have recommended them to friends and family.

I found a precious gem at this establishment! His name is Will. He is excellent at his job and is extremely professional! I was a tiny customer, but he made me feel like I mattered, Gaylen was extremely helpful as well. I have to admit, I was intimidated at first. I had gone somewhere else first and was basically made to feel insignificant. These guys were warmly welcoming , treated me with the utmost respect, even though the transaction I was making was not a large one. These guys were completely awesome where the other company completely failed! From start to finish I was treated with professionalism and respect. I would recommend US Coins and Jewelry for bullion purchases to anyone. I phoned them yesterday morning to see if they had the gold bullion products I was seeking. They had them and held them for me until I arrived later that day. I purchased them at an extremely fair price of 4.5% over spot. You can't ask for better than that. To top it all off, when I checked my email later that day Elliot emailed me they had found a $50 bill I had apparently dropped on the floor. The security guard had found it after I left. Elliot even offered to meet me at a location more convenient to my home to return it. You talk about customer service and fair pricing, they are it. I will be back.

I spoke with Will Brooks who said he would do some research and take a look. I stopped by later in the afternoon and was greeted by Will who knows eveything watches! Kenny Jr. welcomed us, and we were impressed with the displays in the showroom and the security of the store. There is police presence visible inside, and outside in the parking lot. We felt very secure the entire time we were there. Will was very patient, and reviewed all of our 'estate' coins with us, while pricing them individually. Will seems very knowledgeable in his craft. There was no pressure to sell any of our coins, but Will gave us fair market value on the coins we did sell. We appreciate the honesty and integrity! Every member of the staff is courteous and helpful. I usually go to Will because he's just the first one I really talked to. He's been a great resource and very knowledgeable and helpful. If I had found this place earlier I could have saved many hundreds of dollars over buying from APMEX, US Gold, or any of the other big, well known, online places, and they sell the exact same quality metals. If you want to buy physical precious metals as an investment this is the best place with much better pricing than I've found anywhere else with no high pressure sales techniques. Shop around but I sincerely doubt you'll find a better price and guarantee you won't find better people.

If you aren't careful you'll drive right past it but looking at the building I can best describe it as formidable. Entry is restricted however convenient. Security is always present, unobtrusive and often quite pleasant to converse with. Very clean, well thought out presentation of items for sale. Quiet 1 on 1 sit down for appraisals. If you are looking to sell coins or metals, there are plenty of folks to help you and who understand your product. Not necessarily true for gemstones or collectibles. The guys were very friendly but not always tuned in to helping me. Very distracted by one another. Great secure place to shop for coins and other valuables. With an uniformed officer always present, I shop or trade with peace of mind. Two things to note however. One, they don't do diamonds as their commercial on 950 am, with Walton and Johnson as the speakers, imply. I brought a ring in there with a bunch of diamonds (easily over $700.00 in value) and I was stunned when the gentleman offered me $250.00 and said that I could pull the diamonds out because he did not need them. Second thing: I've bought thousands of dollars worth of silver from them, mainly Silver Eagles, and Canadian Maple Leaf coins, along with bars of 10 Troy Ounces or more. When I need to, I sell them back and they give me a great deal. Not so much with foreign coins. I had a set of Russian silver coins from the Last Czar of Russia (late 1800's to early 1900's). When asked the value of those, strictly melt value. No thanks, off to eBay they go. So, aside from those two issues, U.S. Coins is a great place with lots of silver (and gold) coins, bars, and other items. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I am a big fan and a loyal customer.

I am a repeat customer of U.S. Coins and I will continue to be one. My most recent experience sealed the deal for me due to their integrity and customer service. I emailed Anthony A. and Kenny D. at U.S. Coins with a request for information on a sapphire ring I was searching for. I was expecting to get advice on where I might find some loose stones and who they would trust to have the stones set into an engagement ring. I provided them with the parameters (e.g., 3 to 4 carat sapphire and two .5 to 1.0 carat side diamonds), which included specifics on cut, clarity and color. I know U.S. Coins is (as their name implies) primarily a coin and precious metals dealer, but they are really great at fine jewelry too! BTW, they also have some great collectibles if you are a Texas history buff. What I got in response from Kenny was a link to a new item in their inventory that matched exactly what I wanted, and more importantly, what my girlfriend wanted. My girlfriend...now fiance... and I arrived at U.S. Coins 4 minutes before their scheduled closing time and the staff could not have been more accommodating. They let us stay as long as we wanted to inspect the ring and discuss its particulars. We showed strong interest and Kenny said, "Why don't you take it home and live with it for a few days to see how you like it." I was stunned at the generous offer. After all, the asking price for this ring was five figures. I asked Kenny, "Do you want my driver's license, credit card number and first born child as collateral?" He said, "Nah, just take it." So we did. We did what most people would do before making such a significant purchase and did our due diligence. This included doing hours of comparison shopping and taking the ring for an independent appraisal. The appraisal affirmed everything Kenny & Anthony told us about the ring. My comparison shopping proved that the price they were asking was an extremely good value. The icing on the cake was the ring needed to be resized and U.S. Coins was happy to take care of it for me at no cost. It is made of platinum, which is notoriously difficult to work with and we got the ring back in just 3 business days. In the end, my experience with this purchase left me feeling like (1) I was a special customer and (2) I got a beautiful ring for a great price. There is no question that I will go to U.S. Coins first for all my fine jewelry needs in the future. They are a class act and very trust worthy.

Honest to God - this was the best experience I have had in a retail shop in a very, very long while. I know nothing about coins, and I mean NOTHING. My young nephew (8years old) just got into collecting coins and we decided on a whim to take him into the shop to just look around. I'm not quite sure what the low ratings are about. I just sold them 6 silver dollars (c 1922) and got a fair price (fair meaning market value NOT fair as opposed to good or excellent - excellent on that scale). I got there six minutes after they closed and the employee locking the door still let me in and helped me (They were closing an hour early for Memorial Day weekend and I was unaware.). The employee that helped me was a couple of decades younger than I, but clearly knew what he was doing. I inherited quite a few coins from my father so I'm no stranger to this process. I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I know how to use Google, and have sold coins a few times over the past 10 years. That being said, I wasn't even close to being low-balled or cheated. I suspect that the low ratings might be due to unrealistic expectations. You probably can get a better price on eBay, but on eBay YOU are the retailer for all intents and purposes. There will always be a slight adjustment when selling to a retailer. If you think you got cheated take your items to a 'we buy gold' store that is NOT a legitimate coin dealer and see what they offer you.

I have been going there are several years, I remember when the building was built. I would say up until my last visit, service was easily a 4.8 (out of 5). The last time I was there, the store was staffed by 3 men all in their 20's (no issue with that), but they seemed to want to ask like Pawn Stars extras and banter about. Instead of looking up the value of a rare item, the clerk placed it on a scale and offered scrap value. It was a 1908 Olympic silver participant's medal, not such a common item. They weren't professional at all and I hope it's better now

At one point, someone actually said that because I wasn't a dealer, I wouldn't be entitled to grey sheet prices. They've lost the opportunity to do business with me. I've been coming her many years now. They offer a nice selection of coins, bullion, jewellery , currency, and other vintage memorabilia (such as old bonds, old Texas surveys, etc). I've always gotten a fair price when buying or selling. Yes, if you buy gold bullion, you'll probably pay spot gold +2% and if you sell you'll probably get spot -2%. If it is jewellery, it'll probably be less because it has to be melted down. Some people seem to get upset because they expect to sell at +2% and buy at -2%.

I took my 12 year old son to this store in order to verify some information found on-line concerning a coin he received in a proof set that he purchased. Like many people, he thought that he had a very valuable coin based on information from the internet. He has been a novice collector for a few years now and really enjoys the hobby. We had done some research about coin stores and, in general, we were not thrilled with some of the experiences other people have had in Houston at many similar type stores. We were wanting, needing and hoping for information which would solve the mystery but also increase and encourage my sons interest in coins. Well, we hit the jack pot. The gentlemen that assisted us took the time to assist in research, educate my son, show him around some of the counters and discuss the specifics of other coins, as well as gave him a book and loop to continue his interest. His coin was not worth what we thought or hoped, but the experience was. In 2013, I tested several places to figure out who would give me the best prices. Already knowing the value, I took an old 14K Watch. First Stop, one that advertises alot, gave me a terrible price - simply walked out. The next stop, supposed to be one of the oldest gold dealers in town gave me a better price, then I had to haggle like a used car - then walked out. Last stop, US COINS, their first offer beat my earliest best and there was no need to argue, it was fair. More importantly than scrapping, is the show room and their access to amazing coins. If you want to see some beautiful Rainbow Toned and Proof Silver Morgan Dollars, then you found the place. They treat me the same everytime I go - even if I'm only getting a handful of wheat pennies for one of my daughters. If you don't believe me, stop at every place that sells gold and silver on the way to their building and compare for yourself.

This is likely not the best outlet for selling coins. When sitting down with them, they tell you information that seems plausible but when you check it after the fact, not exactly correct. Selling coins is hard enough. I gave a three instead of a lower number because nobody has to sell here. If you don't like the number, don't sell. The question is where to sell?
