This was a five star experience from beginning to end. My first exchange was with Erin, who was warm and very helpful. She responded to my email within minutes, and an appointment with Moshe was set for the same day. Moshe was extremely gracious, and I was struck by his knowledge of watches and watchmaking. We had a great conversation about both - btw, one of my ancestors was in the watch and diamond trade, so this has special significance for me - during which time Moshe also explained what went into his decision process as he appraised my items. I didnʻt know what to do with my motherʻs jewelry collection. There was so much of it, and I had no idea if there was any value, besides sentimental, to any of it. And I didnʻt think I could get an appraisal without making an appointment and bringing every thing in, and of course paying for the service. I spoke to Erin, an incredibly nice, thoughtful, and sensitive woman, and she was more than happy to help me get started by just sending her pictures. I sent photos with details of about 30 pieces. What’s amazing about this establishment is the response time. They are prompt in their replies, prompt in their time management to set up appointments, and they are prompt in providing their best service. When you first open the door you are greeted with warm smiles and such professionalism that you feel like you’ve known them forever. I had to get a gold chain repaired but wasn’t able to meet Moshe at that time. The lovely women working there helped me get set up and provided me an estimate of the time and price to fix my jewelry. Expecting it to take a week i was surprised to find out that he finished my repair the same day! I was so overjoyed and set up my appointment to pick up the jewelry. If you are wondering why appointments are needed it’s because this business is professional, secure and provides you with that one on one relationship to make sure your needs are met entirely. My pick up was smooth and quick. Moshe met with me and he was such a gentleman. I will for sure know where to get my jewelry fixed for now on because his prices beat out everyone i got quotes from!!! Moshe and his staff were very kind and helpful. Having worked years in retail, first impressions are important. They hit all the marks. The office is beautifully done, simple yet sleek. The two office assistants greeted me; one offered me water, which I politely declined. Moshe is an experienced and knowledgeable jeweler. Having worked for a worldwide jewelry company myself, years prior, I felt confident, and relieved, because he knew his stuff. He carefully examined each piece with his loop and sorted them into a pile he wanted and didn't want. We negotiated, discussed what would sell and I left there a happy customer. His offer was more than fair. Other places would have tried to low ball or finagle their way out of it. They also have a huge inventory of luxury jewelry, watches and coins etc. So I always peruse their website for jewelry that is unique and of excellent quality. 1.26.15 - My mom and I visited Moshe today at Hawai'i Estate & Jewelry Buyers (HIEJB) and had a wonderful experience. When we arrived we were greeted warmly by Rachel (?) and asked if we wanted any coffee, tea, or water to drink. We were seen quickly and on time; they are appointment based so call ahead to reserve your space! They validate your parking as well. Besides being very kind and personable, Moshe really knows his stuff! He took the time to analyze my mom's ring, look up the market price, and made her a wonderful offer that she couldn't refuse. Since the stone fell out of the ring setting, he even offered to fix it for free. He is also very knowledgeable about jade; he can tell just by looking at a piece how much it's worth. I highly recommend him and his team for anyone who is looking to appraise, buy, or sell quality jewelry. You will not be disappointed. Thank you for a great experience Moshe! Elegant looking place. Moshe was so "real" for a jewelry buyer, although I'm not really sure what I expected. He clearly and concisely explained the process. I am on the mainland so difficult to find Hawaiian jewelry and was so excited to find an online shop that sells Ming's ...a staple of my Hawaii aunties :) I am looking for some vintage pieces to add to my collection and they have a pretty sizable inventory from which I found a gorgeous pendant that is perfect for my mother who is very petite. When inquiring about the piece the entire staff was so helpful and responses to my emails were almost instantaneous. The customer service is beyond professional, personable and friendly making me feel like I was part of their Ohana. Now, there are many reviews for this business that are outstanding, but let me assure they are correct. I was looking to sell a diamond ring from within my family. I had an appraisal report and sent an email to see if there was a chance to get an appointment. Email communication was quick (within hours for a successful business) and I secured an appointment within the week. Upon entering the building I was pleased to see how clean and professional the environment was. When I arrived to the office I was greeted warmly and offered water or anything else I may need. Moshe was very honest during my appointment and willing to explain the process of grading jewelry. My prior appraisal was incorrect and he was more than happy to ensure I was provided with facts, and put his own time to explain the process with no expectation of anything in return. I was at one point unsure if he was interested, but then quickly realized he was very kind and was putting no pressure towards my acceptance of an offer on his behalf. He made a fair offer based on the appraisal, and was a pleasure to work with. I HIGHLY recommend his services, and encourage this business as a first class experience. I had some broken and unwanted gold jewelry, a ring I wanted resized, and a couple items for which I needed insurance appraisals. I'd had appraisals done before, but not on Oahu - and I had no experience with selling. When I saw all the five-stars for HIEJB, I figured it was a good place to start. The appointment process was super easy. I got to their office just before Moshe did, and everyone in the place was kind and welcoming. I didn't have anything particularly flash or significant - very modest pieces - and I wasn't meant to feel like I was wasting their time. I had already separated my gold by karats, Moshe weighed it and calculated a value for me that I thought was fair. The price he gave me for the appraisals was better than I originally expected, and the resize (sizing up, so adding gold) was quite reasonable. He offered to polish the appraised rings for approximately $30 each, but I declined. Throughout the whole process, he was professional yet warm. Our first appointment took roughly 30 minutes, and he told me he would have my items ready by the end of the week. I returned three days later to pick up my appraised items and my resized ring. He gave my resized ring a polishing job and I'd NEVER seen it look so lovely! Now I'm wondering just how much he could have made my other jewelry (which I told him not to bother with polishing) sparkle and shine! The resize work was excellent - infinitely better than an insurance repair job on my engagement ring I'd had done elsewhere. It fits perfectly and I'm extremely happy with the entire experience. I won't hesitate to return when I'm ready to invest in Ni'ihau shell lei or any time I need jewelry repaired or resized (or polished!)

I am so excited to receive a pendant for my fiancee who had lost this same design a year ago while surfing, he was heartbroken but thanks to Hawaii Estate & Jewelers, I will be able to surprise them with such a special gift! This company really has gone above and beyond in trying to help work with me. They have helped get everything put into place to my exact specifications. It was a vintage Hawaiian crest that on their site was displayed with great pictures having accurate and color, clarity, and size/scale. While inquiring about the pendant they were very clear, prompt, and kind people to work with! Overall, they were able to restore the piece to mint condition and engrave it for a very reasonable cost! Both their work and there products are quality, and I feel very lucky having found them since that seems to be a rarity to find a business like that today. I purchased a (rather expensive) watch from them using Ebay. I was a bit apprehensive at spending so much money on something I couldn't see, but I decided to trust the Ebay ratings system (they were rated quite highly). I received the watch (in record time given that it was coming from Hawaii to the east coast), and I had a few follow up questions on how to care for it. These folks were simply amazing. Moshe and Nicole answered all of my (annoying?) questions and helped me with a couple of minor issues that I needed addressing. They were patient and unbelievably responsive. I could not be more happy--not only with the purchase, but particularly with the customer service component. Truly the kind of business that deserves accolades. I would purchase something from there again without hesitation, and will probably visit them in person when I am next in Hawaii.

Overall great experience. Came in an hour early, was able to see me early. Even though before looking at the diamond, he mentioned he would not be able to buy it due to the size, he took the time to review the diamond and the appraisal. Walked me through his appraisal and explained why he made his judgment. Very thorough and took the time to explain what he was seeing. He then went on to review my watch and see what would be an appropriate price he could give me. I was satisfied. I just returned home from selling some of my grandmother’s jewelry and coins at HIEJBE. This was the first time I’ve ever sold items to a jewelry buyer so I wasn’t sure what to expect or how much I would be getting back. After reading all of the positive reviews on Yelp, I chose to come here. Please note that they do not take walk ins. Initially they will ask you to text or email a picture of the items you wish to sell. If interested in seeing the items in person, Moshe will ask you to make an appointment to bring the items to his office. Once I arrived, I was immediately greeted by staff, offered a seat and something to drink. The office is clean and inviting. After filling out a quick one-page form, I met Moshe, the owner. He was friendly and knowledgeable. He separated what I brought in into two piles the “yes” and “no” pile. (The “no” pile had items that weren’t real gold). After setting aside the “no’s” he carefully went through the “yes” pile which consisted of gold pieces, silver coins and jade. He used the acid test on a black stone to verify if the items were gold or not. He showed me the test results of the “yes” gold pieces versus some of the items in the “no” pile on the black test stone. He also did his research using his high tech magnifying glass and iPad to determine which mint some of the silver coins were made at. He explained each step of the process in terms that were easy to understand. I appreciated his attention to detail and I also learned a little more about how coins are intricately stamped with the mint they are made at. Moshe explained the current market price for the items. Not once did I feel pressured by him to sell/not sell. I felt that the price he offered was more than reasonable, especially for items I were no longer attached to. Overall, I was impressed by the great customer service I was offered. I will definitely be back again if I come across any other items I find at home. And will be recommending Moshe and his team to anyone else interested in selling their unwanted items.

Let me just start by saying, "WOW!" Been shopping for a Rolex for quite some time and I knew buying what I wanted would be way out of what I was looking to spend. Went to EVERY jeweler in town that dealt in the business of pre-owned luxury timepieces and in my search for places I hadn't tried, I came across HIEJB (Moshe, The Diamond Guy). We spoke over the phone and agreed on an appointment time to come into the office to look at the timepiece we're talking about (a pre-owned Rolex Day Date in 18K yellow gold); I was immediately impressed with his setup. I'm a bit of a pen junkie and he has a some of the nicest I've ever had the pleasure of handing. Anyhow...his private office is on a high floor in a prominent building in downtown Honolulu. Nothing about the transaction felt "shady" or that I was about to get taken for a ride. So we talked about the watch and I that evening I committed to purchasing it. As the days rolled on until I was going to be able to take delivery of it, I got cold feet and contacted Moshe to back out of the transaction. I just felt like even though I wanted the watch as much as I did, it was more than I had anticipated on spending. Anyhow - another week or two rolls by and I can't stop thinking about this watch. I'm looking online at them everyday and I finally just decide I have to pull the trigger. I contact Moshe again and let him know, I'm ready to go. He squeezes me in between his appointments that same day and we connect back in his office. I have the chance to look at the watch again and get a little bit of an education on the timepiece itself. I ended up buying that Rolex and its everything I could want in my first real luxury timepiece. To make a long story short, this is the guy you want to see about purchasing your next piece of jewelry - whether it be a set of diamond earrings, a luxury timepiece, or a wedding band. This guy knows his stuff (and came highly recommended by others in the jewelry business in town). I could not be more pleased with our business and will make it a point to come see him again in the near future for my upcoming purchases. Moshe - if you're reading this, thanks man. On my word I will keep you in mind when I'm ready (like we discussed) and I appreciate your patience with me in this matter. I have to admit, I'm a little envious of that pen collection but I see the hard work you've put into your operation and it drives me to want to do the same.
