I loved the attention I received. They helped me get a watch that had been a life long goal of mine for as long as I can remember. The owners made the event very special for me. I drop in most every time I come into town. The owners will come and say hi, we will get to talking and it never fails that they will have something new and cool in for me to see. They are currently making a ring for my wife. I must say they definitely took a lot of time with us to get exactly what she was after. I will and have recommend these guys and must say their family owned shop is definitely the way to go.

OVERALL- I would highly recommend Paul Medawar location to my family and friends. Great customer experience and BEST pricing. My family drives 1hr 15m to come to this location even when there are closer Medawars near us. EXPERIENCE- I’ve been to many jewelers when shopping around for diamonds. I looked into jewelers in metro- Detroit, greater- Lansing, and metro- Atlanta (cities based on where I know people). By far, the Paul Medawar location was the best experience I had. The biggest difference was in the the CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. Other places, I felt rushed and after few questions, I felt like I was taking up too much of their time and they were getting annoyed at me. However, with Danny Medawar, he really took his time to answer every single one of my questions, take extra time to educate me on diamonds, give me more of an “insider” information on how other jewelers would price things based on batch shipments, and take time to give me pricing on every combination of 4Cs I wanted. I believe Danny doesn’t get general batch shipments. He looks at every diamond individually. That’s the thing I always couldn’t trust with other jewelers. I felt like other jewelers gave me slightly lower quality diamonds for the price. But with Danny, you know what you’re getting. I was talking to him and he mentioned he actually had to correct GIA’s 4C rating. GIA actually corrected it based on what Danny saw! He is one of the strictest diamond graders. I say this but Danny is extremely humble and down to earth. He is such a sweetheart. Additionally, he has THE BEST PRICING. COVID- they have acrylic window dividers. They provide masks and hand sanitizers. The space inside is very big with high ceilings. PARKING- ample parking on the property.

So, I was on my way to the airport in Grand Rapids and had some time to kill before my flight so I decided to drop by and check out their watch selection. It turned out to be one of the best experiences I have ever had at a jewellery store, ever! I walked in and was greeted promptly and super nicely by the lady who buzzed me in. I said I was interested in looking at watches so she had someone named Dan come out to show me what they had. This proceeded into 1.5 hours of great conversation about watches, the industry as a whole, my collection, his collection, etc. This far ranging conversation was great, relaxed, unhurried, it was like talking with someone you knew for a long time and not at all like a normal sales interaction. So, close to the end of our conversation, he hands me his card, on it is printed ‘Daniel Medawar’. I’m floored at this point, I cannot believe that this guy I have been chatting with for so long is none other than one of the owners (3rd generation jewellers!). If you haven’t been to this store and you are local or even just passing through you owe it to yourself to get to know Dan and his staff. Amazing experience, I will 100% be back to actually pick something up for myself or my wife. These are the kinds of people that you build a lifelong relationship with. PS: I almost missed my flight, I was enjoying the conversation so much, but it would have been worth it even if I had to catch a later one!

Paul Medawar has the best selection in Michigan. On top of their gorgeous pieces, the environment is neat and welcoming and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable. You can go here for the vibes only, as they are no pressure sales and genuinely want to get to know their clientele, although you will want to get your hands on their unique jewelry. Whether you leave with a bag or not, you most definitely will be leaving with a smile.

I was celebrating a career milestone, I got in touch with Dan over the phone and discussed my needs. We spoke at length, then I followed up to make an in-store appointment to meet up. I will focus this review on my experience than the product. I hold intial conversations in high regard. Dan is down to earth, very knowledgeable and is passionate about his craft which makes interactions a pleasure. He listened, educated and also made suggestions which aligned with my needs to my surprise. Dan went above and beyond to understand my needs, my milestone and its importance to me and was able to deliver which delighted me. During my purchase I got the change to meet other store team members and the experience was harmonious which is rare these days. What I would say is that no one would be disappointed or have a less than perfect experience here. I will close by saying that its also a privilege of the companies' Dan and his team represent.

I recently visited to verify authenticity of my absolute favorite watch. I was greeted immediately and offered refreshments with a very short wait to meet with David. Met with David and the entire experience was first class. You can really tell that he loves and appreciates the brand. I felt bad about taking up so much of his time but he spent time going over the functions of my new timepiece as well as the history/heritage. Very thorough from the operation of the crown, setting the date and time, features of the clasp, etc. We spoke about what these types of timepieces mean and discussed how individual customers preferences are when it comes to the function, dial, complications, weight, and overall feel of the timepieces. This was the most time that I have ever spent in a jewelry store and I didn't even buy anything. You can just tell that they really enjoy what they do, and that they have the same passion for the timepieces that the customers do. I was able to view and try on some of the samples that they have in order to get a feel for the weight, the movements, the clasps, and really judge how the timepieces look on the wrist which I think is vital. I cannot describe with enough detail what a wonderful customer experience this was. 100% 5 stars. I am sure that in the near future myself and my family will have something that we wish to celebrate with a once in a lifetime purchase and I am sure it will be from Paul Medawar Fine Jewelry. *****Update.... I love this place. Customer service is always 110%. Recently spent time in store with world class 5-star treatment even though I hadn't purchased anything. During that visit I spent a couple of hours in-store checking out brands and really taking a nice tour of different timepieces. I had my eye on a timepiece from that visit, and decided to return to kick the tires and see if my first impression was correct. The buying experience was phenomenal. I really love these particular timepieces and I am so glad that I bought from Paul Medawar. I was able to take the timepiece I was interested in and see it next to other types of the similar brands models and that was not only fun but it made me feel good about my particular selection. So much of my interaction with the timepieces that I am now interested in is not done justice by looking at a brochure or a magazine or a website. The tactile experience of the weight, the material, the gloss, the details on the dial or the turning of the bezel is not something you can ever imagine until you are actually experiencing it first hand. I'm actually a little bit intrigued that certain models I thought I might now ever be interested in are now at the top of my list, while others that I always knew I would love are now even more important for me to hopefully have the opportunity to purchase in the future. This time I worked with Dan and he was just as delightful to do business with as his brother David. Again you can just tell that they both enjoy this business. The knowledge that they have of the products is unparalleled. Plus you get the peace of mind of knowing that you've had the opportunity to really see what the finest watchmakers offer in terms of the materials, the movements, the sizes of the cases, the intricate details of the dials, and the history/story behind these timepieces. The entire experience is built around the customer and the thing I love about it is that you (the customer) are encouraged to explore. Feel this material. Check out this dial or this bracelet. See how it fits. See how it feels. Find out if you honestly like this size or if one size is preferable over another. This kind of customer service is unheard of in sales. I LOVE IT. It's no pressure, and 100% customer focused. They custom fit the bracelet and installed my custom strap which was awesome! I love shopping here. I honestly believe that these gentleman love this business. It shows. I am so happy with my decision to do business with Paul Medawar. Phenomenal. 5 stars doesn't do it justice. I will be back soon!

However, I have to give a special thank you to Dan Medawar. I had a ring that was custom designed and he walked me through every step. It's very rare that I write a review, but I had such an excellent experience here today that I feel it needs to be relayed to anyone who is looking for a jeweler or watch dealer. Melissa was very professional and took the time to show me several watches that I want to add to my collection, even teaching me some things I did not know about them. I have no experience with diamonds or rings but she had me up to speed in a matter of minutes. She is clearly knows what she is talking about and is very good at communicating that knowledge to the customer, even a complete beginner like myself. I then met with Dave, who took over an hour of his time with me discussing watches, watchmaking... and programming. This was truly a genuine conversation and at no point did he try to sell me on anything I wasn't interested in. Dave is an expert in his craft and passionate about what he does. I had a clock repaired several years ago and it stopped working after about 2 months. I recently wrote a negative review about it and was contacted by the owner the next day. He talked to me about it, invited me to bring it back in and he repaired it a second time at NO CHARGE! He was polite and attentive and I am thoroughly blown away by his service. My husband went in to pick up the clock and then decided to buy a piece of jewelry from them! He also had a great experience with Mr. Medawar. While I can't speak to the longevity of the clock repair (although I'm sure it will be fine), I can most definitely offer my endorsement of this shop for quality of service and plentiful inventory. I cannot say enough positive things about the Paul Medawar team. They not only helped us choose the perfect engagement ring they also worked with our budget, showed us as many ring options as possible until I was finally able to decide, I never felt rushed and every question was answered thoroughly (and I had a lot of questions). The best watch buying experience!! I have purchased several watches through the Medawar this year. I Drive 2.5 hours from Northern Michigan to do business with Dan and his family and I will keep doing so. Real family run business that actually care about the customer experience. Its nice when your purchasing high end watches to actually be able to have someone talk to you about the piece in detail. On the last trip I also bought a Seiko as a gift. While Paul was sizing my Omega, Dan gift wrapped the Seiko without saying anything because he knew it was a gift for my father. Pricing is very fair even compared to reputable online sites. I cannot say enough about these guys and the measures they will go through to make a customer feel important.

This family business is absolutely wonderful! My wedding ring broke and I brought it in to have them repair it. My anniversary was in a couple of days and they went out of their way to finish it quickly before my 46th wedding anniversary so that I would not be without my ring. They do not send out your items when they need repair, they have experts on site. My ring was so beautiful when they were finished with my repair, that my husband had them add another diamond to it. This jewelry store is GREAT! Great service, great knowledge. I wanted a Rolex, so I went to Paul Medawar, an Authorized Rolex Dealer. I walked into Paul Medawar Fine Jewelry, feeling a little bit sheepish. I didn't know anything about fine watches, I wasn't even sure how much a Rolex would cost me. Dan was there to help me out. He asked me questions about what I liked in a watch. Often, my answer was, "I'm not sure." He would explain the options, show me examples, place watches on my wrist. Slowly we narrowed it down. I would try a watch on, then others, then back to the first. Dan was always listening, asking questions to help me clarify what I wanted, what my aesthetic was, (honestly, I didn't even know I had a "watch aesthetic"-but I do and it is quite specific.) Dan explained how different styles might meet my needs, pros and considerations, different options. I left about a forty five minutes later, having narrowed the field, but still unsure. I needed to think about it. A few weeks later, I went back to Medawar and was so happy to see that Dan was there. We again looked at styles, talked about options-I was really beginning to hone in to what was going to be the watch for me. I told Dan that I wasn't quite ready, but I would be soon. I finally made my decision and I am now a proud owner of a beautiful Rolex watch! I can not recommend Paul Medawar more highly. I was treated with respect and patience. I was educated about the product I was going to buy. I never felt like I was getting a sales pitch. I never felt pressured. I felt like this was a fun adventure and Dan was an expert who would help guide me. Great quality of service!

I was in the market of finding a new band as well as updating the gadgetry in my watch. It is an OLD Chesie watch, with a circulating train as the second hand, passed down from my great grandfather to me as a high school graduation gift. When I walked in, I was quickly greeted by the owner himself, who passed me on to his grandson, who is a watchmaker by trade. Not only did they provide excellent service on the watch itself, a true family heirloom of mine, they praised the piece for its antiquity and inner mechanisms. I have to say I was really impressed at how great the service was. Furthermore, I wanted to take a picture of my watch to share with family and friends, and the grandson taught me a cool trick on how to capture it in just the right light. I rarely write reviews for things, but it was because of how highly reviewed the folks at Medawar were that lead me to going there in the first place, so I wanted to pay it forward. The staff here really know their stuff, and were incredibly friendly and accommodating along the way. Whether you’re in for a repair, a routine cleaning, a perusal of their inventory, or the latest update from Basel, these guys have got you covered. I’ve been to Rolex authorized dealers in larger cities and, while the product may be the same (often with a smaller inventory!), the customer experience doesn’t even compare. Trying to find a something special gift for a very special someone is not easy for me. Maybe it’s not easy for many people. This task is made all the more difficult in recent years due to the disappearance of personalized customer service. Let’s face it, online retailers and even “brick and mortar” retail has descended to a pit of non existent , apathetic and sometimes downright rude interactions between customers and the business who allegedly expect the customer to throw money at them in exchange for a product delivered with bad attitude and minimal service and no follow up customer service care! Medawar Jewelers and especially the staff exemplify the exact OPPOSITE of that! Each time I go in, I am treated with a genuine appreciation for my presence and my potential business. Even the times when I am just “window shopping”, I am treated with the same attentive high level of service that anyone receives at Medawar! Dan was soo helpful and is a true expert! Impressed by his ability to meet my very picky needs. I had a valuable family heirloom diamond to be placed in a more modern engagement ring setting. We had looked at jewelry stores for months all over northern and western MI not finding anything special. Dan helped us order the perfect Verragio setting. Their selection was jaw dropping. Other stores wanted to ship the diamond in the mail to be placed. Ummm...no that's not okay. Here they had a jeweler who i personally met, and I even had him design a custom wedding band to match the setting perfectly. They communicated every detail with me, had sketches, a mold to approve, and it was done quickly and worked with us on price. I stare at my ring everyday and cannot believe how unique and gorgeous it is! I wouldn't trust any other place with a family heirloom...this is definitely the most secure and love how its family run. We drive from traverse city for their products and assistance and will absolutely be back!
