Great service! I bought an engagement ring from a private party and we met at Michael's to prove authenticity. The owner Mindy authenticated the ring for me, and confirmed it was made there by Diamond Dave, so after purchasing it I was asking her about resizing it and adding a wedding band to it. She set me up with an appointment, no problem for the following week, which was best for me. At the appointment Mindy was top notch! She gave it to me straight and didn't beat around the bush. (After all when you go to a store like that you're looking for quality service and craftsmanship all around, which I feel I got.) For being one, if not the oldest jewelry store in AK and being locally owned, I'm extremely happy with my decision to give Michael's Jewelers my business.

PHENOMENAL JEWELRY STORE AND SERVICE! My husband bought my engagement ring from Michael's and it is so incredibly beautiful! We later got both wedding bands from them as well and the quality continues to exceed our expectations. Mindi is extremely helpful and also so sweet and kind. My husband and I recently PCS'd out of Alaska and Mindi continues to provide us with phenomenal service. She even spoke with USAA to ensure the insurance on my wedding set was implemented properly. Michael's Jewelers is wonderful! The owners provide excellent service and the jewelry is highest quality. We purchased our wedding rings there and absolutely love them! After 3 years of wearing our rings continually even while working outdoors and in the gym, they were looking rather worn. Michael's cleaned and polished them and they look brand new. Mindi has been amazing. I remember when Michael’s Jewelers was in the diamond mall when I was a little girl. I’ve always wanted this specific ring for years. The right man came along and bought the ring I’ve always wanted from my favorite jeweler. Walking into their store is an experience in itself. I only buy from Mindi at Micheal’s. The ring on my middle finger is from Fred Meyer’s not by my choice. Lol. But who can refuse diamonds. What I love most of all is the craftsmanship of her husband! I hate has sized and resized this platinum ring for me and it looks like it just came out of the show case.

I came in randomly to see if I could get my family ring cleaned before I proposed to my girlfriend. I didn’t know anything about rings. The owners were kind. They cleaned my ring, showed me some nuances of the piece, helped me pick out a box, and got it done within a few weeks despite a busy schedule. I didn’t even realize you needed an appointment at the jewelers and they worked with me anyways. Michael’s is a taste of good old fashioned family business.

If you're looking for a men's wedding ring then you need to look at Michael's Jewelers. I searched online and locally trying to find a ring design I liked. I couldn't find anything until I went to Michael's Jewelers. By far the largest selection of men's wedding rings in town. I was shown at least 15 rings until I found the right design. The ring I chose feels like it isn't there when I go to pick something up. Not all rings have this level of comfort. Of course if you don't find a ring they can make one for you. The service was excellent. They're very knowledgeable, so ask all your questions. I recommend making Michael's Jewelers your first stop if you want to save some time.

When I was shopping for wedding bands I visited every jeweler in Anchorage along with some out of town and out of state, this was the one I really wanted to come back to. Mindy is a great help with figuring out what you want, she is also very honest about what to expect down the road without sugar coating the pros/cons. Dave is also a gem, no matter the occasion I would highly recommend at least talking to them but if your reading this do yourself a favor and go see them.

Don't waste your time anywhere else! We looked everywhere in town for the type of engagement ring I wanted. No one had anything close. I walked into Michael's and described what I wanted to Mindi. She immediately flipped to a page in a catalog and said, "like this?" EXACTLY what I wanted. They were able to customize to our price range and my ring is perfect for my life style (I'm not easy in my jewelry). I've been wearing it for 6 years now and ANY time I have the tiniest concern they check it out, clean it up and hand it back to me looking like new free of charge. After visiting countless jewelry stores in and out of the state and being disappointed with both selection and service, we found Michael's. We enjoyed perusing the rings in a relaxed atmosphere with the owners available to ask questions and try on a variety of styles. My husband was able to custom design his platinum wedding band exactly the way he wanted. I finally found a band that beautifully matched my 6 prong round engagement ring. Both Dave and Mindi were extremely helpful and customer oriented throughout the buying process, even after the sale was completed. If you're looking for rings or any jewelry in Anchorage, definitely go see them!!

When I contemplated marriage again, I wanted the ring to have a very special meaning for my wife and so designing the ring myself was just one way I could express that feeling. I had already purchased the diamond with my design in mind, and so I started looking for jewelers who could assist me in making what I had in mind become a reality. Recently I contacted Mindy with a special request for our Daughter (age 7) to come in and design a Mothers birthstone ring. Mindy tactfully presented my daughter with options and had several printouts ready for my daughter to color in gem pattern she liked best. Michael also showed my daughter his workshop. This is my first experience working with a jeweler and Michael's has surpassed all expectations. They helped my husband design a ring around an heirloom stone and that was just the start of the customer service that went above and beyond. From band sizing, regular cleanings, and eventually replacing a small stone, I was not without my ring for more than a few hours. Even after we left Alaska the service has been responsive, timely and professional.

This place has been amazing!! I worked mainly with Mindi. I was very indecisive about what I wanted and they were nothing but patient and helpful with me. The ring was made by the time it was promised and in phenomenal condition. Coolest thing, they give you a box with a LIGHT!!! to light up the ring!! Mindi is awesome!! She was of great assistance when my bride to be and I went there looking for a wedding ring set. She pointed us to some great looking sets within my planned budget and got us taken care of once my fiancée picked what she liked. A week later we had the engagement ring with such a sparkling diamond and a few weeks later the custom matching wedding band. Mindi takes care of her customers and even looked at some loose gems I had gotten overseas and referred me to someone else to give me a better inspection of the gems. Hands down THE BEST!!!! We don't go anywhere else. Four years ago, for our 25th wedding anniversary, my hubs created with Mindi's help a gorgeous heart diamond and purple sapphire anniversary ring. Mindi listened to every thing he wanted from the size, cut, and karat's of the diamond to the whole layout of the ring all over the phone and email. Mindi even wrapped it up in a special box and bag for me to open when we got there for our anniversary! Fast forward to 2021. When our son was looking for an engagement ring for his now fiance, we told him there was no other place to go! So he called Mindi and together they designed the most beautiful black opal engagement ring for my future daughter-in-law. Stunning. Their workmanship, customer service, knowledge, phenomenal selection and advice on caring for each and every piece. There is absolutely no other place we will ever go! They have the best selection of engagement rings in Anchorage. I decided to visit the Michael's Jewelers after reading google reviews, and I am very happy that I did. I really do love my ring and the service Mindi and Dave provide. Once in a few months, I visit them to have my ring cleaned, and it doesn't even take 10 minutes for them to make my ring super shiny. I can't imagine that I would love my engagement ring like I do now if we got it from a different shop.

Once a year, I take her rings in to have Dave check them out and have them cleaned This is a service they provide free of charge when you purchase your jewelry from them. Their store is beautiful with a vast selection of designer diamonds. Once you shop their store, you won't go anyplace else.

I inherited my moms diamond ring and it needed to be reset. I brought it to one jeweler, and wasn't satisfied with the ring options that they offered. So, I looked up some reviews online and decided to call Michael's Jewelers in Anchorage. Best decision ever! After a few trips to their store I realized why I was so comfortable with Mindi and Dave. They ARE the business...they are the owners, the managers, the gemologists, the designers, the artisans, the buyers, the sales staff, and the customer service dept! They know (because they are), every aspect of the business! They have put in the work, and their knowledge, skill and talent is obvious the minute you meet them. They guided me to the perfect setting for my moms diamond. I have not taken the ring off since I picked it up, except for Dave to inspect and clean it. They encourage customers to take advantage of this free service regularly....they take pride in and stand behind the quality of the jewelry that they sell, and want to be sure that their customers are always happy. Bottom line???...when you want jewelry, you need to visit Michael's.

This jeweler came recommended by my parents, who have had nothing but good experiences with Michael's. Thus, when I was looking to get a repair done on a ring of mine I came here first. I'm new to the jewelry world, so I didn't really know what to expect. However, my mom has some family heirloom pieces that she's taken in for repairs at various jewelers over the years, so I at least expected that your average jeweler would be able to do routine maintenance and even stone replacement on a ring. Upon entering the store I was greeted by someone who asked what I needed. I told them I had a ring I recently bought that had two small stones missing and I was hoping to get a quote for replacing those. The answer I received told me this was not a service they provided, but the way it was given was demeaning and patronizing. This jeweler won't do work on pieces that are not their own, and I completely understand why; there are a lot of liabilities to consider when working on someone else's piece, and for many small shops that's just not worth it to take on that risk. The way this answer was delivered, though, had me feeling like an idiot for not knowing beforehand. It was as if I was wasting their time by trying to become a customer of their services. In addition to telling me that they don't offer that service, they also managed to reiterate it at least four times while claiming that not only is it their own store's policy, but that it's basically an industry standard. They said that no other jeweler in town that they could think of offered basic repairs on jewelry that was not from their respective store. I was a bit shocked by this treatment and information. Out of curiosity, I told the person who greeted me that my mom was a frequent customer and that I visited Michael's first based on her high praise and recommendation. I wanted to see the reaction to this information, and the result was like flipping a switch. Suddenly the store representative was actually helpful and kind, and they even gave me a few pointers that I found very useful for any future jewelry purchases. Later that day, I visited two more jewelers looking for quotes and both offered the services I was looking for. So maybe the employees at Michael's aren't all that familiar with the broader Anchorage jeweler community. I'm giving them three stars because this was not an experience that would keep me from visiting the business in the future. I'm sure that if I had come in looking for a ring from their show room that I would have received incredibly friendly and helpful service. Plus, of the pieces I did happen to see during my visit, none of them failed to impress. I guess my suggestion to would be patrons is to know beforehand if they offer what you are looking for. EDIT: I spoke with my parents about the services they've received from this jeweler, and apparently my mom has her grandmother's ring serviced here regularly. This is a piece that has no tie whatsoever to this jeweler, yet they still worked on it for her. I'm not sure what discretion they use when deciding to work on rings that are not custom made by them, but it's clear that they do have exceptions. I didn't appreciate the way in which I was treated when I first entered the store, but in retrospect I appreciate it even less knowing that they were not completely upfront about their policies.

Anytime I stop in the store for Christmas for Birthday shopping they recognize me immediately and offer to clean and check my ring. They have tightened it and inspected the setting at no charge. Mindy is wonderful to work with and very knowledgeable about the products they offer. I have had other jewelry repaired here and they always under-promise and over deliver. After going to a few other shops in town I wound up at Micheal's where I was happily greeted by Mindi and Shorty. I was a bit weary as I had just had another sales associate try and sell me on a 12k ring after making it clear what my budget was. Mindi let me peruse the selection for a while and then began asking very gentle questions about what I was looking for and what my budget/criteria were for an engagement ring. Whether she was selling me or not, at that point I didn't care. Her kindness, openness and ability to actually listen to my ideas and concerns made it quite clear that this was where I wanted to bring my business. We worked hard to create the perfect ring for my fiance and I was thrilled with the finished product. Unfortunately, there were some small issues with the design I choose that caused my partner some discomfort when wearing the band. I sent Mindi a message asking if we could come in and she immediately responded to set up a time. Nervously, we went in to ask what could be done and expecting there to be very little. Not at all the case! Mindi was amazing and worked with us both to figure out the best path forward. She stuck to her word that if the ring wasn't what we wanted that we would work something out. Right now we are awaiting for the ring to be adjusted and can't wait to see the new product. We are so grateful for her and Dave's kindness and understanding, as well as their willingness to work with us. 10/10 would recommend. Update (10/13/2020): it has been a little over a month since my wife and I had our last minute pandemic-time elopement. And perhaps two months since we received round two of my wife’s engagement ring. I can say that the ring she received was absolutely perfect, and she is completely in love with it. We are so grateful for the amazing experience and care that Mindi and Dave took when working with us.

They gave us the option to browse and give them ideas of what we were looking for, and helped us understand what kind of things we COULD be looking for (we're newbies). Michael’s Jewelers has been voted the top Jeweler in Anchorage for many, many years and I can see why. They saved our wedding day! Back story: Long story short, my partner and I went to Fred Meyers Jewelers on Abbott and they almost ruined our wedding day. We spent 5 weeks waiting for rings that were never ordered. We spoke with several staff there, even the manager, and they kept giving us different stories. We even had to fight to get a refund because they said they couldn’t even find our order in their system! We had a receipt and showed them our bank statement (they took money out of our account), and finally we got our money back after an hour of waiting. After that we were stressing! We only had a few weeks before our wedding. We immediately went and saw Mindi Robuck (owner) at Michael’s Jewelers and she was an angel! She went above and beyond to find the perfect wedding bands for us and got them flown in from Germany just in time for our wedding! They came in the day before our special day and she kept in close contact with us about the expedited order. I also have to say that she greatly comforted us by letting us know that if for some reason they were delayed that she would lend us a set of rings to exchange during the ceremony so we would at least have rings in our sizes for our wedding. Incredible! Their products are unique, beautiful, and well made. She treated us like family. They are locally owned so they care about this community and the people in it. Excellent place. Right from when you walk in the place, the atmosphere is nothing but comfortable. From the little dog that runs up and says hello, to the owners themselves. A major factor was the fact that they not only kept the backroom doors wide open, but actually encouraged you to go back and watch them work, explaining the function of each tool and area of the room. If you want, you don't ever actually have to take your eyes off of your jewelry the whole time you're there. I'm not a huge ring person but they gave me options on what can look good on me or what I'm comfortable wearing they also worked around my budget as well, the ring didn't fit but that happens because its hard to get someone's ring size and preferred size and since I don't wear rings its hard for me to know the difference so they fixed the size right there and it fits perfect now they did everything perfectly and I would recommend anyone to go there first then if they don't magically have the ring you want then you can try else where but there's not going to be a lot of places that make there custom rings like they do

Michael’s used a family diamond to create a super unique and custom engagement ring. To this day I’ve never seen another one like it and get tons of compliments. They always recognize us when we come in to have it cleaned and checked, they are just the nicest people. Can’t recommend them enough!
