We happened by this place and decided to go in for a sweet treat. The Gelato was tasty with unique flavor options. The line was pretty long which speaks to how popular the shop is. It's pricey as are most ice cream and Gelato shops these days. But we would go again.

Very good, classy, and modern place. This place is definitely worth a visit or more. I have been here quite a few times myself and had their chai latte, hot chocolate, and cappuccino. They are all great! I also tried their affogato, but at a different location, which was also great! This place is in a great location as well.

What an amazing place to experience super flavorful sorbetto! I chose the pineapple honey lime and champagne mango. It was not too sweet and really felt like the best blended and freshest versions of the fruit!

Super aesthetic interior, and the gelato was delicious! I tried the dulce de leche chip and stracciatella flavors. Both tasted amazing and were perfectly refreshing for a hot summer day!

Excellent coffee and gelato. Tried a bunch of flavors by tasting and finally bought the lemon cardamom and pistachio. Both were excellent. Lemon cardamom: Very slight cardamom flavor and a weak lemon profile. Pistachio: Strong pistachio flavor and I loved it. Sorbet: tasted a bunch of them and did not feel as good as the gelato. Hazelnut latte: Nice hazelnut flavor.

A 4 stars for me. From out of town and found this place on Google Map. Recently visited NYC and had a really nice cup of Affogato so maybe I set my expectation a little too high. The presentation of my Affogato is not really that good. I know Affogato is gelato + Expresso, but I got pour over expresso on the gelato (option for Whipped cream?). It was put into a paper cup so the expresso lost it's heat really quick and not able to melt the galeto with it, compared if you put everything in a glass cup.

Passing by on my way back to the hotel, even it was winter night, the place was packed with crowds craving for their gelato. Of course I have to try. Got pumpkin and hazelnut crackle, both are so good! Creamy and delicious! I heard they also sell in whole food, time to find them in supermarket.

Got some dessert here with my dad the other night. I was surprised but pleased that a small can be two flavors. My dad got Clementine and Pineapple honey lime. He said he enjoyed both but the pineapple flavor was a bit weak. I order Hojicha and Marscapone and berries. The Green tea flavor was incredible and not too sweet or bitter. We got a to go cup for my mom but I didn’t hear her opinion on the flavors. They have a sign that shows where they are sourcing their ingredients that I thought was nice. I wish there was some outdoor seating but I can understand if their location doesn’t permit them to offer that.

I've often walked by Dolcezza and the classy, old-school look of the place always caught my eye. When walking to my car yesterday I decided to try it on a whim. I can't speak to the coffee, but the gelato is excellent. City Center is a particularly pricey area of DC and unfortunately Dolcezza doesn't buck the trend. If I had one criticism I would definitely say that it's overpriced, but if you're in the area and feel like treating yourself then go for it. I had a large (triple scoop) Banana Foster gelato. It was smooth, creamy, sweet, and deserving of any other adjective you could think of for delicious gelato.

I love ice cream and this place has some cool flavors. I got 3. Mexican chocolate, pastacio siciliano and peanut butter mash. Cold and soft ice cream. The peanut butter flavor or pastacio seemed a littel spicy, not sure whats in it but that was interesting.

Late afternoon visit this past Saturday. Had the dark chocolate and Vietnamese cinnamon gelato and a americano. Gelato was great, the combo of flavors was interesting. Im not a fan of americano coffee but the regular was out. That said coffee had really nice flavor and smooth finish. Place was very busy. Location is great, right , one block from National Gallery and Capital One Arena and on the edge of high end shopping mall. Particularly nice spot this time of year with Christmas decorations up.

Expensive, but let’s be honest, you’re paying for the experience. Get the true European feel with a bustling espresso-bar-cum-locally-sourced-gelato-plug that is open until midnight. Perfect non-alcoholic night cap after strolling DC or eating at the equally exorbitant restaurants in City Center. The Dulce De Leche and Vanilla Bean lattes are a perfect desert and you can lean on the window counter and people watch or go take your obligatory #loveyoualatte insta pics in the throughway outside that’s always decorated for the season.

Pretty good chai. Stopped in on the way to work one day. Service was quick and the customer service was good. A good amount of seating inside and a few small tables outside. It's nice because it has a lot of glass and it's in a great area, City center is a nice place to walk around.

"I don't want any," quickly turned into eating nearly half. Very rich and creamy, the dark chocolate was amazing. The black and white cookie batter was okay but maybe not accurately described, as it seemed more like an almond base with cookie bits in it rather than any sort of batter. Really good Gelato though.

Still the best gelato in DC! Such fun flavors. I love the affogato with hazelnut crunch. My niece got mascarpone and fig and I loved it. She probably shouldn’t have left it sitting in front of me. Cute space, too. They might consider putting in a second coffee machine because it was a tad slow.

Good gelato but even better sorbet, likely heavily biased here. Due to Covid, day goodbye to taste testing unfamiliar flavors. The plum sorbet is refreshingly sweet and slightly tangy. The mango sorbet seems muted in sweetness and flavor. The gelato, seems like gelato. Not sure if it's much different from other gelato

I'm hesitating between 3 and 4. My latte and Gelato were tasty. However, my friend's cookie was old and not tasty. Overall, I think the place could have been decorated more. Especially the bathroom. Everything is basic and unappealing that's hard for me to imagine myself coming there often to work/study and have a cup of coffee at the same time. I would want to hang out inside the coffee shop. Overall, I think this place has a great potential. Please just make this place more pretty.

Simply Fabulous!!! The most delicious ice cream and an Instagram worthy safe out door place to eat it! The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The line moved quickly. There were a couple of little tables and chairs and several more inside the courtyard.

A good gelato place with some fun flavors. I tried the Sicilian pistachio (which is what I often order at gelato places). Their pistachio was smooth, creamy, and buttery--so good. I also tried the black sesame--tasty, and the sweet potato maple pecan praline--sweet and crunchy.

The smoothest latte I've ever had in my life. Fantastic variety of high quality gelato. Baristas were really friendly and let me try some nitro which I never had before. A lovely shop worth visiting at least one time if you're in the area.

Stopped by to try out the ice cream. The location is amazing and I loved that they have a unique selection of ice cream. It was delicious, but it didn't really taste like an actual gelato you could get in Italy. Still a nice place though and I'd definitely go back!

Dolcezza Gelato & Coffee is a great place for a sweet creamy treat and an espresso. The mascarpone gelato was my favorite. It was very creamy and rich. All the other flavors are fantastic as well.

The price, portion and quality all are on par. You pay for what you get! The employees were attentive, the store was clean and the gelato is DELICIOUS! The outdoor seating of the storefront is a nice spot to relax or you can walk around in the shopping area. I got the Swiss chocolate and hazelnut it was superb! A small size is plenty after dinner.

We really enjoyed stopping in for a quick cup of coffee during our trip to DC. Dolce de Leche latte and vanilla bean latte both very good! Baristas were kind, thanks for a nice experience both stops! Seating outside gives you a view if the US Mint and an attractive shopping area.

Dolcezza is DC's best gelato because the owners travel the world looking for the very best ingredients to put in their gelato. Because of that, they always have unique fresh gelato like black sesame (a personal favorite) and Thai coconut milk gelato. This location is one of the biggest locations right in DC City Center. It's open late and has enough seating and free wifi for the business traveler needing a place to work for the day. They also serve coffee and pastries and even have a bomb mocha made with Mast Brother's chocolate. Amazing! If it's your first time, stick with the small because you get two sizable scoops. And don't be shy to ask to try every flavor if you're going to buy a cup!

Overall good gelato but don’t expect exceptional customer service. I got a small gelato cup with mascarpone & berries and dark chocolate gelato. Both flavors were good. The mascarpone & berries were the highlight. Very velvety and rich in flavor. The dark chocolate was also amazing. It’s not the the cheap chocolate flavor that you get at some ice cream shop. It actually tasted like something you can find in Italy. Overall, I’d recommend this place!

I tried their sorbet flavors a couple years ago as well as recently. Their sorbet flavors are unique, extremely tasty, and taste exactly like what they're named after (e.g., champagne mango, blueberry lemon thyme, clementine). A must-have when visiting DC.

Best Gelato I had in town by far! One of the few times where we all regretted nit getting a large cup instead of small. The store was clean and the employees were really helpful and efficient. All the flavors we tried were so good and we truly enjoyed them. Prices were very reasonable to the quality and quantity. Would definitely be stopping by again.

Best gelato in DC. We always go on an adventure every summer, trying to find a new "best" gelato or ice cream in the DMV and for over a decade now we feel like no other gelato place come close to Dolcezza. You can't go wrong with any flavor and they are always very generous with their samples.

You really can't beat Dolcezza gelato in the summer. Their smooth and creamy recipe is to die for. I love their interesting flavors like black sesame and Thai coconut. They're classics like chocolate, espresso, and butter pecan are great too! Dolcezza is always a solid choice for coffee too and their pastries are delicious. It's a great place for people watching and the perfect place to sit when you need a break from shopping at City Center.

This is my fourth visit in nearly six months and this gelateria just keeps getting better. It is always busy, even during the colder months. I have found the shop to be very reliable in terms of pulling good cups of espresso and cappuccino. Just as importantly, the gelato is quite good. They do a nice job of rotating the flavors offered and I have no complaints about the portions provided. During this last visit I struggled between getting my usual Affogato or this new gelato flavor called Tramontino. I settled for the gelato which is best described as a vanilla cream with dulce Dr leche swirl and light and tasty chocolate pearls. So good, I want to return for more.

To be honest, I have not been here in over 2 years, but when I lived in the area I was a frequent customer. The price, quantity, and service were all spectacular. I usually did the 2 flavor combo. Their classic (dark?) chocolate was mind blowing. Rich chocolate. Not for the kiddos. Usually paired with a strawberry/raspberry type flavor. They rotate all the time. Dolcezza will always be a stop on my visitors list. Plus City Center is a cute place to walk around at night

Staff was awesome. She mixed my flavors and I was super grateful. She also recommend and twist to one of the flavors and it was spot on. We walked to this amazing place after taking a moonlight monument tour ! The service was good and the gelato quite tasty! I preferred the pistachio and family liked black and white cookie butter and berries with mascarpone! Washrooms are clean as well Tried the masala tea as well which to my Indian palate was a trifle weak

I really like dolcezza's ice creams and lattes. And the people working there are usually rally nice. But I don't understand why in this location they always use paper mugs, even when you do not want your drink to go. Also, depending on the person doing the ice cream, you may end up with an half empty cup, and for the price you pay... Not okay!

Yes it's pricey, but that's Gelato. I tried a few flavors and wasn't really feeling it, then I had the marscapone and berry was amazing. I was unimpressed by my go-to ice cream choices of dark chocolate and espresso (both of which weren't strong enough), but the marscapone and berry flavor was enough of a redemption. Plus, device was very kind and willing to help

Gelato was great. Service was horrible. It was an hour before closing and maybe it was because the server was tired at the end of their shift. But she was awfully nice to the customer before us. The flavors were different from what my son was use to and he wanted to try it before he made his final decision. The server acted like we asked for something crazy. We were also asked to pay by credit card and it may be because you are more inclined to leave a tip and I wish I hadn’t left one And I am looking at all these pictures and the portion / serving size that they gave us wasn’t anywhere near these pictures.

The gelato flavors are so delicious and the texture is velvety smooth. The temperature the gelato is served is perfect, right at the point of almost melting but not quite. Definitely will be coming back!

Apricot sorbet & mint stracciatella gelato! While the apricot tasted refreshing in its fruity way, the mint stracciatella was second to none! You can clearly tell that they were made with fresh ingredients - not overly sweet and no food coloring. It's not usual to meet a mint flavored ice cream without that poisoned green color whilst it still keeps up the minty hint.

They were open late which was a huge plus. 2 stars were removed because we ordered 2 espressos and we waited 20 minutes before going back to the counter and asking for a refund. The 1 barista was overwhelmed with orders. Drinks were being made, yet names were not being called out to be collected. and none of the staff was helping her.

I was having a bad day and came in there to try and cheer myself up. The gelato is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G but the customer service was even better! The cashier there named Jai was just so sweet as she was so patient and understanding. We had a good conversation and my day was instantly 10x better! Dolcezza teaches their employees to be great to the customers for sure!

A different sort of fix on ice cream. Loved their Champagne Mango and Avacado Honey Orange. Their swiss chocolate was also good. I'm not too keen on cookies so the Coffee Cookie was not my thing. Ordered a Hot Mocha. It was on the bitter side and I suggest a Latte rather than a mocha. Location and ambience was excellent.

Tried three different Gelato flavors. All three were very good. We had the dark chocolate, coffee and cookie, and one with caramel. Also tried the iced lattes, nice strong coffee flavor to them. Two small issues. We ordered a large and a small iced latte and were given two drinks of the exact same size. When I pointed it out the guy making drinks said they were filled to different levels, but they absolutely were not. Also, for some reason they don't call out the order number. They just call out what drink they made. So when its busy no one knows if its their order or not. I don't understand why you wouldn't just call out the order number on the receipt. I saw this cause a lot of confusion that could have easily been avoided. But, the food and drinks were great so I'll definitely be back.

Dolcezza is a solid staple coffee chain. This one is usually fairly busy and they tend of be a little slower because the coffee and ice cream line are one and the same. They don't take cash, so make sure you have a card. The coffee and chai are both good.

On a normal day of the week, when the guy with the hair is making the drinks I'd give this place a 5 star. My wife and I dropped in a few times a week for a vanilla bean or mocha iced and can expect fabulous customer service and quality tasting coffee. However tonight I'm so sadden by the horrible coustmer service my wife and I received the young lady on the register even had the audacity to yell at my wife. The young lady on the drinks have us what tasted like a warm blended coffee. We've lived in DC for a month, and have shopped here over 15xs tonight was by far the worst service ever received since moving here. 😕 Ps. It might be best to only shop here in the morning when staff is much more friendly.

Loved the Gelato. Though its not something new and different from what others in city have to offer yet the name of the store build over the years carry it forward. Really liked the ambiance in all of their stores. The Gelatos are high and you pay the price for it but you could distinguish all the subtle flavors in them. I visit them several times in a month to try everything they has to offer on the menu.

Wow, this place was awesome. The staff were super nice and the Gelato was great, especially the dark chocolate and banana rum combo! I also liked how they had a binder listing all the ingredients for each one, which is helpful for those of us with food allergies, especially corn since it's not recognized as a food allergy. Most of their gelato doesn't have any corn products in it. I will definitely be going back!

There are a couple that change each day so there is always something new to try. But there are the favorites as well. Came here Saturday around 4pm for a quick iced coffee with my cousin. I ordered a small and a large however the guy at the counter rang me up for two smalls and I didn’t notice. When I received our items I looked at my receipt and noticed so at that moment I told the guy who made my drink “hey it was supposed to actually be a large and a small, if it’s that big of a deal I will pay the difference but this isn’t what I asked for” his response was “I mean that’s what you were rang up for and it’s only about two shots of milk difference from the small” I know my attitude and I realize he’s young so I chose to walk away from that situation because at the end of the day you’re stuck at work on Saturday so I get your attitude....however just because you don’t want to do your job and remake my drink it doesn’t mean you can get away with telling somebody what they want. I chose to be the bigger person in this situation bc I’m not a child... With that said, next time I ask for my drink to be remade and even offer to pay although it was no fault of my own I was rang up incorrectly, I expect it to be made bc I was beyond polite about it. Not many people will be the bigger person like I chose to....thanks.

I had the gelato with espresso shot, their espresso was perfectly flavorful. I ordered my shot to be poured over an ice cube, which made it perfect to drink. Service was fast! Our group sat around for about an hour. Atmosphere is light and it is not very noisy.

Just as good as their other locations, plus they have late hours and it isn't too crowded here! Open till 11pm Monday-Thursday, 12am on Friday-Saturday, and 10pm on Sunday. Great gelato and sorbetto flavored, like black sesame, blackberries and cream, honeycrisp apple, lemon opal basil, and cantaloupe. Small (2 flavors) is $5.50, large (3 flavors) is $6.60. A pint is $10.50 and a push pop is $3. They also offer coppettas (gelato sundae) for $8. You can, of course, get a cup of coffee too. Espressos, nitros, iced coffee, etc. are all available here. They also carry Stumptown coffee beans and milk from the Perry brothers in York, PA for purchase. Compared to the other Dolcezzas, this location is relatively quiet and empty. Service is friendly and quick.

It's a coffee, ice cream, and snacks. They serve many source of different flavors of Ice cream form Europe that make it become famous and popular to many individuals which enjoy it. They serve ice creams and coffeeies not breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner. So they don't serve breakfast, lunch, or dinner ? Correct, they don't serve them to customers because it's a desert and the snack place. On their refrigerator, they have sets of yogerts drinks, and coffee bags. Do they? Yes. They staffs are friendly and helpful. They usually don't need to wear uniforms at all due to the dress code of the policy. They just dress whatever they want. Their bathroom are non-codeded. Such means, you, he, she, they, customers, businese people, citizens, foreigners, tourist, visitors, and participants can take the bathroom anytime they want without worrying about asking associates (what's the code for the bathroom?) Or (I need to go to the bathroom.) Most public areas they go to must have a code for that. Some associates won't let them unless they buy stuff from them first. This place is no one of them. Why? Because is easier then I ever expected. Notice, if the sign said varcunt in green, it means its avalible can go inside.
