The staff who worked on the evening of 9/11/2022 was ON FIRE. They were genuinely amazing. One girl took the orders on the register and took payments while the other staff members fulfilled the customer orders. Super impressed with their communication and their speediness. Always a must go spot in the summer time. Ice cold ice cream in anyway you want it. In a cup, cone, waffle cone, and etc. The ice cream was good so it was a good experience. You’ll be surprised on how people can actually mess up ice cream 😬. Glad this place know what they are doing! Enjoy the ice cream 🍦

I don't believe the ice cream is homemade, at least not the kind in the sundaes, but it was still great! A little pricey considering that, but the workers were very nice, and the cashier made sure to ask what kind of nuts we wanted instead of just giving us the usual. My boyfriend had a hot apple sundae which was great as well. And we got a pup cup, which she also asked if we wanted whipped cream or ice cream for. Would go again.

Perfect place if you are craving for ice cream and near Portland ME.. it’s close to Portland head light house so definitely recommended if you are visiting it.. the menu options are great and loved the varieties of soft serves that they have. Great friendly service too..

People love this place. I think a lot of the love is because it's a nostalgic landmark. I don't really like soft serve much either, which doesn't help. It's insanely busy and you often have to park in the neighborhood behind it. Take your kids, they'll enjoy it, but I'd rather go eat hard serve somewhere else, preferably at home straight from the carton.

Going to Red's on opening day means long lines but man it was worth it. My hot fudge sundae was perfect and the staff was friendly and this place is still as amazing as it was when I was a little kid. No matter if it snows for another 100 days, winter is over because Red's is open!

Solid soft serve in a roadside, no frills spot. No seating, just a few benches forcing everyone to sit on the parking lot. Classic flavors and Blizzard knock-offs called Nor’easters. Worth a trip to South Portland.

Prices for their version of a Blizzard are offensive: 10$ for a large? 6$ for a tiny small??? I'll drive the extra distance to DQ, sorry. Red's is a staple and not everything there is priced so absurdly. You'll like the ice cream, just know you're going to pay high prices for it. Staff was nice.

We went on a cloudy Sunday afternoon in mid-May. It was fairly busy but not packed. The employees were very nice and the service was very quick! My group got a chocolate "noreaster" (similar to a blizzard from Dairy Queen) with Snickers bits in it, a coffee soft serve cone, and a pistachio soft serve cone. Although the pistachio wasn't very pistachio-y, it was still pretty good. The other two were great. Very good serving sizes, in my opinion. I would go again, and I would recommend it to others.

My favorite soft serve in the greater Portland area. The sundaes are delicious. I like the spanish peanuts and whipped cream on my hot fudge, and a the sundaes are a great value too. There is an ice cream dessert that is mixed with different candy choices, of which I've tasted a spoonful, and would order someday if I ever get my fill of hot fudge. They make a marshmallow shake too. Yum!

Red's is a neighborhood fixture that I can remember visiting over 25 years ago. The ice cream and other options are tasty, but as time has gone on I find myself going elsewhere for a sweet treat. This isn't because of anything bad about Red's, I just enjoy other ice cream shops in the area more nowadays.

The staff are friendly, the ice cream is good. The location is at a confusing intersection, and there are not enough benches to accommodate the number of customers they get. It is worth the long lines to get the ice cream, though, because they move pretty quickly and it tastes that good.

I've been going here for at least 25 years. (That's as far back as I can remember, kindergarten.) Now I take my kids here to sit on the parking blocks, and reminisce of the care free days of being covered head to toe with half-and-half ice cream, rainbow sprinkles, and eyes. The staff is awesome! A great place to stop for soft serve. Standard cones and dishes are available in many sizes. The Nor'Easter is a blended sundae with a plethora of flavors to choose from. Also shakes and sundaes are available to cool you off from the summer heat. The staff is friendly and helpful in finding the right choice.

Red's is a survivor institution. It is the first sign of spring and the last goodbye of Summer-Fall. Soft serve of perfect texture,creamy and delicious. Creative shakes, sundaes,etc. Don't be daunted by a long line. The staff is expert, highly efficient. For about 2 weeks in late June,early July, Red's has soft serve with local strawberries. It's all good at Red's!

It was really really good soft serve. AMAZING hot fudge. I'm only giving it 4 stars because they gave me attitude and judged me when I asked to sample the sprinkles. I like my sprinkles fresh! If they are stale they ruin everything! (p.s. their sprinkles were in fact, not stale)

The soft serve is good for those that like creamy but light and airy. I tend to prefer more custard like texture for my soft serve and for that reason McDonald's is still no. 1 for me (actually Rita's is no. 1 but is relatively inaccessible for the greater part of the country)

Wicked tasty soft serve ice cream, with lots of options (including milk free/sugar free etc). My favorite flavors are mocha, english toffee, and peppermint. The flavors rotate from week to week or so. If in doubt the half in half is classic!
