A huge selection of ice cream flavors and options. I got the Monkey Business flavor and loved it. The shop can get busy but is extremely clean and it has a decent serving size for the value. Will definitely visit again and would love to try all the flavors.

Obsessed with this menu, their ice cream is creative and delicious without being too over the top. My favorites are the banana fosters, red sky at night, and blueberry cobbler. HOWEVER, beware, because they have the largest portion sizes I’ve ever seen! If you’re taking it to go then definitely get a cup because two scoops feels like a whole pint which creates quite the mess while driving. You definitely get your moneys worth here!

Greeted by smiling friendly employees (8/31/22) and quick service. Really felt the employees are a leap above the typical place like this. My coffee chocolate chip ice cream had too much chocolate flakes & they seemed to be of mediocre quality. Very original looking place and overall very happy.

Great ice cream. Honestly, very good ice cream. However, in my opinion, the prices are excessive. Perhaps it's due to the fact that they give you an enormous amount of ice cream per serving. We just had the single scoop cone and it was waaaay too much ice cream (2 and a half large scoops is a single serving!). I wish there was a way to pay less and get a normal sized serving. Still the ice cream was very good!

I've gone to the Sherwood location more times than I can remember. First time coming here! Just as good as the other location. Blueberry cobbler ice cream is probably the best flavor here. Price is good. Coupons come out in the mail all the time, and there is a reward system you can participate in.

A good selection of really tasty ice creams and other delicious selections. I've attached photos here of the menus. There really are very few places to sit and eat, and the decor is pretty hole-in-the-wall, which is really the only thing keeping this from a full 5 stars

Very tasty ice cream! There was a long line but it moved fairly quickly and gave me time to decide on which flavor I wanted because they have so many good ones. I recommend the horchata and pistachio!

Long line, on sunny days bring a hat or an umbrella ☂. I didn’t realize the serving sizes are so large. I ordered a single scoop and watched them add 3 very large scoops (!!) on a small sugar cone. Lots of flavors and different things to try. I got the key lime pie and wow there were actual pieces of pie crust in there. They only have 2 dairy free options: chocolate almond and pomegranate.

A lot of places that try to include non-dairy items on their menu always have just fruity flavors and no chocolate flavors…. However, THANK YOU for offering a non-dairy chocolate ice cream on your menu. I hope this is an everyday offering that stays forever. The “vegan chocolate almond milk” flavor is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10 STARS!

I love this ice cream! Very creamy, very true to taste, just great! It didn't last long in the freezer. I've ordered on door dash because it's sort of far from me since I'm near Salt & Straw. S&S discontinued my favorite flavor so I've been on the hunt for a while for a good coffee and chocolate chip ice cream and finally found one here! What blew me away was Handel's cake batter ice cream though. The texture and taste are perfect. 10/10

The ice cream is delish. However, at this particular location, the bathroom is disgusting and in need of a good clean. I was there recently and both my little kids needed to use the bathroom, and I was so disgusted by the state of the bathroom. Absolutely filthy.

This place has so many flavors and types of ice cream, milkshakes, floats, whatever and huge portions and good price!! I 1time ordered something different, didn't like it, a lady heard me telling my daughter that 'it wasn't as good as I thought' she said they will remake one, no charge, they wanted to make sure I like what I got. That was really cool. Lines are long in hot days, but almost all ice cream places are. Loved it!

Yeah I went here and had the French silk. It was pretty amazing ice cream. It's like a buttercream type thing with chunks of dark chocolate. That's very sweet and graham cracker crust. I don't know exactly how to tie it with this place is really delicious

Freshly made, short wait, nice menu. Wished we could see the flavors in front but you can ask for samples still and menu is detailed. Sowm of the tea and coffee flavors could be slightly stronger but that's personal preference.

First of all I do love their ice cream, and I do get good service when I go and the manager is there. This has the 3rd time that I've come recently and had poor experience in the evening. I never have had issues at the Sherwood location. I want to like this location because it is close to home but I might give up. Had such rude employees tonight. I usually give positive reviews but this needs addressing.

Wow wow wow, just wow! I love the ice cream made here with a passion! I've tried the pineapple upside-down cake, coconut cream pie and the strawberry cheese flavors! It is by far the best ice cream I've had. Creamy, rich, smooth and sweet. This ice cream will definitely cure a heartbreak, baby mama drama and a failing grade!

Descent quality, but when I asked for a "peanut butter" specialty sundae off the menu, it didn't come with peanut butter sauce by default. They were happy to add it when I asked, but apparently I had to explicitly order it, otherwise I would just get ice cream with mix-ins... Which by definition isn't a sundae.

First time here. We tried 6 flavors. All but one was delicious. Banana cream pie was spot on! Coconut cream pie was not. Lemon bar was refreshing, black cherry and strawberry cheesecake were very good. When we want ice cream near us. this is where we will go.

This place has the best ice cream around . The only complaint I have is I asked for a monster shake extra thick which I paid over 9.50 for and I a monster regular shake . I have been to that store many times cause I love ice cream but let's get the shakes nice and thick when we pay for them that way.

I come here at least twice a month and will stand by it when I say this is some of THE BEST ice cream you can eat! It's all handmade daily with stellar flavors and a wonderful selection. The portion sizes are grand, the staff nice, the store is clean and they're rarely busy. All in all it's an overlooked gem.

We got coupons in the mail for this place and decided to try it out. I am surprised I hadn't heard of it sooner since I love ice cream. It is very good! There are a TON of flavor options, so there is definitely something for everyone. It was difficult to choose. My one complaint would be the fact that we both got double scoop cones and the second flavor scoops were much smaller than the first and it is intentionally done this way, so whichever flavor you prefer, have them put it on the bottom.

The ice cream was delicious and the woman who helped us was very friendly and responsive to our questions. I had the chocoholic(?) and the coconut cream pie. Both were great: the chocolate was super chocolate, and the coconut cream pie was especially delicious with bits of pie crust, coconut flakes and marshmallow cream!

First time in the shop. Went during my lunch break with a co-worker and although the ice cream did not disappoint, the customer service did. I was hoping for a friendly " Let me know if you have any questions?" or "These are some of our popular flavors." Mia (who was also the manager) was extremely unhelpful and seemed like it was a bother to be there. I asked if they had any pints to go and was abruptly told "no." Good cone, good ice cream, poor customer experience. :(

Best flavor ice cream in town! I tried 2 flight of 4 scoop. That is total 8 different flavors. None disappointed me. Pistachio had real pistachio bites in it. Butter pecan had real nuts in it too. Not many places add real nuts in them. Also sweetness on point. I have tried salt and straw(my favorite) and Ruby jewel in East side both highly rated places but Handel's ice cream has much controlled sweetness than the others. Which I love about Handel's. Many places just add too much sugar which kills all flavor. Today was my first day at Handel's. Looking forward to many more with my friends and family. Only request is continue the quality and flavor and sweetness level like these always!

Well crafted delicious ice cream served by polite and efficient people. I usually have some little tweak or other to my order and they are very happy to help me out. Their Scoops are enormous and I usually ask for a partial scoop. I paid full price with a ubiquitous half-price coupon so it's fine and they're happy to leave some behind.

Handel's has the best ice cream in the area! You can get a pint for the same price as the grocery store but its made in store! They have a lot of flavors and several different cones and scoop options. Definitely consider coming here over other ice cream options in the area!

We ordered a bowl of Ice Cream each. Mine was Coffee Chocolate Chip and Chocolate. My Wife ordered Blueberry Cobbler and Strawberry Cheesecake chunks. Well mine was perfect but Wife's was more or less like vanilla Ice Cream. Asked the server why it's so different than we expected and She said its just the batch. So after Wife was half finished with her ice cream, we went back and the Manager helped us. She said it isn't right. They replaced her order and now it was like we have had before. Perfect. They redeemed themselves! This is what Customer Service should be. Plus great Ice Cream. Thanks!

The ice cream at this place is fantastic! I had the coconut cream pie, and enjoyed every bite of it! The only downside is that there is only enough seating inside for about 5 people, and two tables with four seats each and two benches outside. Not so much seating, but delicious ice cream.

What a gem for the suburbs!. This is about as good an ice cream us old timers remember from our childhood as there is. Not a fancy place, you just go in, order, and go out. Benches outside. Got just about everyone beat to date. Of course the local food critics haven't caught on yet, and are usually reluctant to review a place " not homegrown" or too " suburban". Maybe it's better that way as I won't have to wait 20 minutes on line to order. Though suspect sooner or later they will have to come around when the buzz finally reaches Portland in numbers.

Handel’s homemade ice cream 🍦 is the best in town. They are very patient even if you want to sample 20 flavors. I highly suggest any of the flavors with fruit, such as the blueberry cobbler or strawberry or coconut cream pie. So good!

There are a lot of flavors and they're all pretty good. My frustration lies with the fact that they don't have any 'kid scoops.' I have a 5 year old and the smallest they dish out is a 3-scoop cone for around $4.00. We took my 2 kids, plus a friend out the other night. Spent like $30 bucks...

We always have a great time going to handles. This was customer appreciation day and they did Congress for $1. We took our 4 kids and each of us got a cone. They did a good job social distancing and only allowed a few customers in thier store at a time. I remember growing up in Ohio and seeing lines outside of Handles in the middle of snow storms. Loved to go to them when I was a kid. It's great to now be able to take my kids in turn to them.

Good ice cream, but the troublesome if you have food allergies. The staff is unable to tell you what’s in each flavor, which can cause serious issues for those with anaphylactic reactions to certain foods. I’d rather go to Salt & Straw.
