Ted and Wally’s is a fun name serving up some darn good ice-cream. I thought it was premium but ultra-premium? It was good and it deserves a 5 star review. We stopped in after I took grandma to the park down the way. She loves to play on the jungle gym, fight with the kids and hide around corners when she goes potty in her diaper. She also works up an apatite for ice-cream so we were in luck. The place is super cool inside, fun to see how it’s made and the flavors are unique and fun. Super creamy ice-cream but not heavy, if that’s possible. Go get ya some and let them know granny sent ya.

I tried “Quit your job and eat chocolate” and “Brown sugar Espresso bean” ice cream which were 2 of the day’s flavors. They both were very creamy. The service is very professional and the staff who helped us is so knowledgeable about the flavors. She patiently explained to us about what they were. Thank you so much. Ice-cream lovers must try!

Very good ice cream. I would say it's a little creamier and richer than your average kemps. They have many unique flavors that rotate. There was a lot of different kinds of chocolate, had a spicy one and few Easter themed ones.A few spots for parking. They allow free samples so can at least try some ones you wouldn't get. Price is on point for a tourist spot so a little higher than DQ but you are paying for the historical value. Fun spot to visit.

Great place to cool off on a hot summer day in Omaha! Ted & Wally’s is serving up some made from scratch ice cream the old fashioned way, using locally sourced, fresh ingredients! As you wait in line, you can see the ice cream being churned in the old machines. Along with some traditional flavors, there are many unique ones to choose from, including the peanuts and coke which was really tasty! This is a must stop while visiting downtown Omaha.

We went there once and loved their ice cream! The 20% butterfat makes the ice cream taste really good. The “Flavors of the day” were a little different than traditional flavors such as garlic etc. but we went with the simple ones i.e. Vanilla Bean and Chocolate, and they were just too good! The staff was very friendly and allowed us to taste some different flavors before deciding our final picks. Highly recommend this place!

I loved my purple cow ice cream at Ted & Wally's. The site was very cool and retro, the flavor choice was ample, and service was great. I definitly made the right choice to stop here on a hot Omaha day. Make sure to visit when you are in the Old Market area.

Flavors are always amazing. Shout out to Veronica last night, we looked and Google said they were open til midnight and it was right before 11. They actually closed at all, but we were a few minutes early but the doors were locked, and as we were turning around she insisted we come in still and get some ice cream, and it was 2 of the best flavors I've had from there so far.

The only ice cream shop you must visit when in Omaha is Ted & Wally’s! This old-fashion, craft-churned, made-from-scratch ice cream shop is a quaint shop with booths and tables inside providing plenty of seating. There are plenty of daily ice creams that are created right before your very eyes. My personal favorite is the Dutch Chocolate however Mint Chocolate Chip is a close second. A pleasant surprise is that they also offer vegan and gluten-free options. It’s a popular place to go, so lots of people however the line kept moving and before we knew it, it was our turn. The staff are great about providing samples, so if you are unsure about the flavor, just ask for a sample! They also offer floats, sundaes and shakes. Great location, and I’m sure as the summer months are right around the corner more seating may be available also outside? Definitely a sweet treat after walking around in The Old Market.

I stopped in again and it is just as good as ever! Keep it up! Ted & Wally's is some of the best ice cream I have had anywhere, ever. It is truly homemade and creamier than most others. They have different flavors depending on when you go, and they source local as much as possible, and the end product shows. This time I tried the mint chip, peach made with goat cheese, apple cider sorbet, and standard vanilla. Whenever I am in Omaha I make sure to stop by.

By far the best ice cream money can buy. We have searched all over the country to try and find anything nearly as good. They always have Dutch chocolate and vanilla, a sherbet, and a vegan flavor, but the rest of the flavors change every day and can be very fun and unique! If you're in Omaha, you have to check out ted and Wally's.

Let me preface my review by saying that I don't usually like ice cream. It never meets my textural expectations. This ice cream, though, is PERFECT. Delicious, truly creamy, not too hard but definitely not soft serve/ice milk airy garbage found elsewhere. The flavors are rich, fully developed and artfully blended. The little shop is charming, easily accessible with lots of parking. Staff is friendly and attentive. The vegan options are incredible too!

Although a really cute locale right in the middle of the Old Market, the ice cream was overrated. There were only four flavors available when we went on a Saturday evening. The line was out the door although it moved quickly. Staff was impolite, borderline rude. Not sure I'd return or recommend with the lack of flavor choices and poor service.

We stopped by here on a vacation, and were pleasantly surprised with the authenticity of the ice cream, and wide variety of flavors! The building itself was instagram worthy/ready. The neon light filled the small space and gave the building a nice aesthetic. Overall a hidden gem in Omaha.

This place is awesome! The ice cream is great! It's made from scratch in-house, with rock salt and ice, and it's super creamy, due to the high percentage (20%) of butterfat they use! They have really good flavors too! Some are unique, but some are more traditional, for the less adventurous. I got two scoops: the first was batman chocolate, which was dark chocolate and blueberry, and the second was lemon verbena butterscotch! Both were excellent!

Been eating and rating local ice cream parlors. Things we like: locally sourced ingredients, homemade ice cream made right in store, fresh and yummy ice cream, wide variety of flavors and free samples. Free parking in the lot is a nice touch. (although I paid the meter before knowing this). Cute parlor with lots of seating. Appears well liked as there was a line and no seating when we were there. Things we didn’t like: $10.95 for 2 cones is insanity!! Kids were disappointed not to get cotton candy ice cream (that depends on the day. But the kids are rating). We also noted you can’t really see the ice cream unlike other places we have visited. My 13 year old did say Ted and Wally’s was her favorite.

I decided to try a different place to eat ice cream and went here. The ambience was neat and colorful. I tried the grape nerd and orange ice-cream. That was kind of sour and I didn’t really like it that much so I tried vanilla and Dutch chocolate they were good. I also tried the coffe flavor as I am a coffe lover, I loved it. I also tried the fruit basket which was with the strawberry and dried raisins, that was sour and sweet and will be great for people who love fruits. The vanilla bean was plain and sweet. However, I enjoyed the evening with my family at this place and the servers were so kind and very helpful. If you want to try anything new I would suggest you to take a sample of it, so that you can take what you like.

Fast and friendly service, and delicious ice cream! I got a garden mint sorbet dish with cacao nibs. The sorbet was incredibly smooth and strong, and the bitter nibs paired perfectly. Sweet tooths be warned, there are no chocolate chips on the mix-ins menu, but I believe I saw Twix, Snickers, Heath, and Reese’s.

If you do anything in Omaha, it has to be getting ice cream at Ted and Wally’s. It is the CLASSIC ice cream shop with all the nostalgia you could ask for. Genuinely some of the best ice cream I’ve ever had. The staff are usually college age students that are ON IT and just so nice. Get the ice cream, you deserve the ice cream, you can’t miss this ice cream!

This place was busy, and stayed busy while we were there. And now we know why. The line moved pretty quickly and the ice cream was really good. We had the vegan mint chip which was awesome. We haven't had mint chips since going vegan and it was as good as we remember. We'll be back.

We arrived later on a Friday evening, as first-timers from another state (Iowa), after spending the day in Omaha for doctor appointments. The line was long, but moved quickly. The shop was neat to look at, and had a good vibe to it. There was a bit of a nostalgic feeling, which fits great with being in the Old Market in Omaha.. Most people were passing through the shop and heading back outside once served. I really liked that they had an exit door at the end of the order line, so you don't have to walk past the crowd to get back outside. You can stay fairly separated from others if you'd like to. My only small downsides were: 1. There weren't a lot of flavors to choose from, and some of them listed, we were unsure of what they actually were flavor-wise. I'm sure part of this is because it was later at night and they had a busy day. I get it, but if you know thats going to happen, plan more product variety. 2. Although a plus as far as not having to wait long, the line moved very quickly. It was a bit intimidating to order, especially having questions about what was being served. I felt rushed, and the workers were actually telling us to please keep moving down as we were trying to order. It didn't help that the actual menu can't be seen until you get to the counter to order. It would be helpful to have it posted large, or make them available individually, somewhere along the line when waiting...especially for those like us who had no idea what we were doing. :) 3. Three separate people were trying to take our order in the short amount of time we were at the counter, it was confusing. They didn't seem to really be communicating with each other, only the guests. Overall, a long review, but not any huge issues! The ice cream tasted wonderful and we will definitely be back next time we find ourselves roaming the Old Market!

Solid ice cream for a fair price. The flavor combinations can be a lot of fun, but I'd personally prefer a bit more adventurous flavors. What they do, they do very well though. There's never been a flavor that I've tried that I didn't like. Definitely a place to stop if you're a fan of ice cream.

Tried this place out while waiting for a train. Pretty substantial line…not surprising on a Friday night with nice weather. Wow!!! Ice cream is locally sourced and made on site. Well worth the wait (which ended up being only about 15 minutes). Definitely give it a try if you’re ever in Omaha!

I usually love this place and it’s ice cream but they really need to revitalize this shop on the inside. It looks like a dump honestly and dirty. With the amount of business it gets, it should put some effort into making the shop nicer. And my biggest pet peeve is that you can’t see the ice cream when you’re at the counter.

Had a great Experience here and they have a wide variety of flavors. I feel like the prices are a little steep but you get great quality ice cream and service and being in downtown Omaha is perfect. I’ve been coming for years and this place never disappoints. Also they sometimes have keto/paleo and vegan options which is nice. This time I got vegan Vanilla bean which was so creamy smooth and fantastic I was blown away. But the mint kombucha ice cream which was alright, kinda tasted like cough syrup but ok- doesn’t compare to their local Black raspberry peach kombucha sorbet that they’ve had before which was fantastic amazing delicious

Fun experience, long lines, but not necessarily worth the wait. You can see the ice cream being made right in the shop and they do have some unusual flavors. You can also get shakes, malts, and floats. I had a scoop of Dutch chocolate and a scoop of mint chip - they were good but not outstanding - but $6 seemed overpriced. I would stop back in if it wasn't a 30 min line.

I know Ted and Wally's is a staple of sorts Downtown, and remains popular, but there are much better places now to get ice cream. I understand costs for goods have gone up, and the fixed costs for location, labor, etc are high, but $6 for a small scoop of kids ice cream is a bit much. Taking into account the wait, it's not worth it and we probably won't be back any time soon. Coneflower and eCreamery are MUCH better choices (as are chains places like Baskin Robbins, Goodrich, Cold Stone etc. At least at these places you get a generous serving and the product is equally as good if not better with a far greater selection.

If you love ice cream, but have to watch your carbs, check out the Keto flavors at both locations. One of my favorites is the raspberry with frozen raspberries. Another is the Bulletproof coffee flavor, they do not make it often enough! The cappuccino and coffee flavors make a great breakfast treat (ice cream for breakfast! ) Take home a quart and be good to yourself in the morning!

It's pretty expensive and a lot of the tables were dirty but as far as I could tell, there was just one kid working by himself and he was doing a great job. There is usually a line on the weekend, but it moves quickly due to a fun and efficient staff. The ice cream is always delicious and they have fun, sometimes unexpected flavors like mint green tea. Dutch chocolate and vanilla bean are my kids favorites and they opt for mix-ins like m&ms. It's nice to have a local ice cream shop that continues to be successful through the next generation. I went here as a teen and now take my kids here when we come back home to visit.

Last week I went to Ted and Wally's ice cream with my auntie and cousin, for the first time. When we got there it was a really nice place with a really nice space. I saw that there where colorful lights and a menu with different ice cream flavors. At first I wasn't interested in going anywhere to try anything but, I have to admit, it was a good experience. I got this ice cream called Coke & Rootbeer. It was gross, so I tried a different flavor called Unicorn Poop. I know it sound discusting but, it was actually really good. When we left, I remember hearing my auntie say that there was going to be an upcoming Dababy concert in Omaha soon, and how she'd love to go see it. This was a great experience and I can't wait to visit Ted and Wally's again.

A coworker in KC recommended Ted & Wallys. I am so glad we came! If there is a line, Yes, it is worth it! There was a line, and it was absolutely worth it! We had Vanilla Bean, Dutch Chocolate, Tasty Good Salted Dark Chocolate Toffee(It is black!), and Fat Elvis ice cream (peanut butter, banana and bacon)! It is awesome! My husband has a new favorite with the Fat Elvis! Update 2022 - My now 13 year old is the pickiest kid ever. His praise for the chocolate shake is the highest of any he has ever had. He has declared we will come here every time and wishes Ted and Wally's was near home! (KCMO)

Some of the best ice cream I've ever had. New and different flavors made at the store. There was a long line but it moved relatively quick. You can sample here so don't be afraid ask. Gladly would return here in the future. Everything on the menu looking good is going to be the hardest decision you have to make here.

Cute place, but not worth the price. The service is great and the menu has some character, but god is it expensive and just not worth the price. Their milkshakes are too thick and not very flavorful. The coffee float is good, but I don't understand why I'm paying almost 7 dollars for a small cup of coffee and a scoop of ice cream that has freezer burn. It we paid 6 or 7 dollars for both, I wouldn't care, but $15+ is absolutely outrageous and just not at all worth what you get, because no ice cream should be that price.

Almost every time I am in the Old Market I end up there. Best ice cream you can get in town, maybe even in the world. I would eat it every day. I get samplers and try out whatever four flavors sound good as there is always something different on the menu. French toast? Peanut butter and jelly? Beer flavors? Ice cream was good, very flavorful, unique texture and taste. Flavours are very inventive, from dark chocolate to corn to blue curacao. Obviously a careful business who know what customers want in ice cream and it seems they've understood for a while. Definitely will be back.

Truly this is more of a 4 star review, but I felt bad not giving them 5. The ice cream is delicious, but the line is a bit long. And their flavor choices are unique and creative, with a vegan choice even! However, I'm a craft ice cream gal and they only have 10 or so flavors, not the 20 or so I've come to expect out of shops like this one. The decorations are captivating and the ice cream was creamy and delicious so it's worth it in the end.

Ted and Wally's was great. The service was excellent- they even let us bring our dog in the inside and eat at tables in the lobby! ( It was 90+ degrees out). The ice cream machines made noise- because they were actually making ice cream on site! That's something you don't find most places. The ice cream was delicious, smooth and creamy without too much added sweetness. My husband and I both had lemonade ice cream which was perfectly refreshing! We liked the place so much we stopped by the next day too. The staff was friendly and explained the whole ice cream making process to my husband. And the ice cream was made with all basic ingredients - NO High Fructose corn syrup or other additives.

This ice cream shop is both iconic and very, very good. The new flavors every day kept me coming back during my trip, and they are very good about letting you try out multiple flavors before you pick. Overall, a great local ice cream place at a very competitive price. This beats any other chain ice cream place hands down. My only issue is that there seem to be some sanity issues among the servers (e.g. one server put ice cream from a cone that had too much back in to the ice cream container). Hopefully the owner(s) reads this review and addresses that side of things quickly.

They do their best with trying to keep the line moving. They may need another sign of the list of flavors, because many people don't see it until they get up to the counter, and by then it's too late to be moving quickly. I knew I wanted to taste test three and then decide. The flavors I tried were Kahlua, Vegan Root Beer, and White Chocolate Espresso. We decided to get a two scoop of Espresso and Kahlua. That want a good idea to mix, because they kinda blended as opposed to mixing and coming each other. The coffee flavor was very strong. Both were still good!

Excellent ice cream. My colleagues told me about this ice cream shop, Ted and Wally's, and said that it was some of the best homemade ice cream in all of America. I confess, it was really good. I had vanilla bean with Oreo topping. They had double dutch chocolate ice cream. Other flavors included cinnamon roll and butter cookie butter, strawberry rhubarb pie, and lots of other unique flavors. It's a fabulous outfit just across the street from the Hyatt Hotel.

They've got the story, the location, the reviews, and the crowd to make you think you are getting ready to eat the best ice-cream you've ever had, but in my opinion don't have the developed flavors to support the hype. My group purchased Vanilla Bean, Strawberry Cake Mix, German Raspberry & Blackberry (not sure I have this name correct), & No-Sugar Added Keto Ginger Brandy, and sampled Buttermint. We ate them family style. All of the flavors were very muted. The most pronounced flavor that came through in all of the selections except one was the butterfat / cream. Its a great base to work with, but should it be the most dominant flavor? The Keto Ginger Brandy was the exception and my favorite from our batch. In my one experience with Ted & Wally's, I was underwhelmed. I love the idea and story, and if Ted or Wally are listening, I would encourage them to develop their flavors.

I love the inventive flavors at Ted & Wally’s. I’ve had the opportunity to try ice cream I never, ever would have experienced otherwise. My husband and I go pretty often and there have only been a couple of times where I couldn’t find something that appealed to me on the menu (in which case vanilla is a solid choice). Recently, they’ve added a regular rotation of paleo and keto ice creams, and I can’t wait to try them all. The cinnamon one was awesome. I also love their vegan ice cream, which has a coconut milk base. Miscellaneous flavors I can recall among probably the 75 or more we’ve tried and loved over the years include: cucumber sandwich cookie, fluffy lime salad, strawberry basil, black sesame, vegan coconut carob chip, ladybug rose, dark chocolate halva, cardamom and avocado pear. And when I haven't felt like ice cream, I've gotten a few decent cups of coffee here as well.

What can you say about handmade ice cream in 100 plus year old churn? Well, if you're talking about Ted and Wally's ice cream parlor in the Old Market , would you can say is that "It's wonderful." You make old fashioned ice cream that is simply a delight. There many times in the spring and summer when the line stretches into the parking lot. There is another ice cream store across the street. They don't wait in a big line there while Ted and Wally's has customers are pouring out the door. They have all your traditional flavors like chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. They make assorted flavors on limited time basis. I'll make some gelatos. And they even make some low calorie versions which you would not be able to tell is lighter and sugar. Ted and Wally's is an Omaha institution and cherished.

I was curious how they made a strawberry cheesecake flavor once, and they answered "we take a strawberry cheesecake and put it into the ice cream while it's being mixed." Makes sense. Big windows make it easy to see if there's much of a line or not. When the line is long, it can take a while (5-10 mins) to get through.

I love Ted And Wally's! They always have very original flavors available. Best time to go is around Christmas. They have two amazing, amazing, amazing flavors: Eggnog, and Christmas Cookie (which is literally ice cream with iced sugar cookies smashed into it).

Ted & Wally's Old Market gets a lot of walk-in traffic. I mean LOTS. Expect a wait. The ice cream is okay, but I think what really makes the place work is the friendly staff and the atmosphere. Family friendly but a little pricy because the ice cream is made in house.

Ted and Wally's management and staff went above and beyond for my daughter's 6th birthday gathering this Memorial Day weekend. They were patient and empathetic to my son's food allergies, for starters. Also, they kindly wrote a birthday message to my birthday to my daughter on the flavor board, which she loved. Some time us we Moms are down to the wire with birthday party prep and can be a little excessive with our requests, but they made me feel like I wasn't a bother at all! I so appreciated this!

This is a must when you are in Omaha. Be prepared to stand in line for a few minutes as they are very busy. Even with the non-stop flow of customers, the staff is extremely friendly and quick. Also a lot of their ingredients are local and they donate profits to charity.

Sometimes they have weird flavors like artichoke cream cheese or jalapeno cream cheese but if you have Ted & Wally's on a Salty Seahorse (a salty icecream with oreos) night prepare to have your mind blown!!! Salty Seahorse is my ultimate favorite ice cream ever! Another notable flavor is Chocolate in My Beard for the chocolate coconut lovers!!! The only reason I am giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because they tend to post their flavors on their Facebook page at the beginning of the day and by the end of the day they are all out of the delicious-sounding flavors!
