I visited for the first time this week and have been back already a couple times to try different menu items. The onion rings were delicious, burger was juicy, the diet coke actually tasted like diet coke. The ice cream treats are delicious. Definitely getting great value for your dollar. Would go here before all the chain restaurants in the area for quality now that I know better. Brings me back to my burger drive in days.

Nice little stop in to Tastee Freez on a beautiful day in Moorhead. We sat outside and enjoyed some ice cream, it was great. Another plus, was there was no line and we had fast, great service. The worker provided the recommendations too us. My husband got the brownie ice cream sundae, which was amazing. Ice cream was great, brownies pieces were soft and delicious and the whipped cream was also good. I got the strawberry shortcake sundae (it was on special for $3.63). It did not disappoint, was also very good ice cream and shortcake on the bottom with lots of strawberry topping. Enjoyable visit and will be back.

Always a fun treat, regardless of anything else I'm about to mention! Weird they didn't have to-go covers and such, and if you don't know what to order right away, the staff are a tad antsy about it, but I get that. Still makes ordering a little anxiety- inducing though. Banana splits are still our favorite thing though because the candy shake things are mostly just soft serve with a very small amount of candies mixed throughout and one solid lump on top...and still just white soft serve at the bottom of the cup. I remember back in the day when this place was better than DQ...I no definitely longer think that. Tis a shame but it is what it is.

This is a very busy place and for good reason. The staff might be young, but are attentive and know how to get you what you need. Best ice cream business in Moorhead.......P.S. I suggest the Boston Shakes.....soooooo yummy with a shake on the bottom and a sundae on top!!

The Freez was great! A lot of people skip over this gem in favor of another ice cream place down the road from here, but this place has other food items to offer besides the obvious. Great tasting ice cream, no long line, good variety of other foods to choose from. You can't go wrong with this place.

We wanted to try something different than Dairy Queen and this did NOT disappoint! There are tables set up in the grass to sit on which was nice. The prices and serving sizes were reasonable but most importantly, the ice cream was much better tasting. It was creamier with a little less sweetness. I ordered the turtle sundae with carmel and my daughter ordered the generously portioned large cherry dip cone. It was very large and was dripping everywhere before she could finish it but she absolutely loved it. I definitely will return with the whole family.

Great place for fast food. I'd say this is one of the better places in Fargo/Moorhead to get ice cream. Removed one star because it's typically ran by teenagers, who seem to not have adequate equipment to run transactions properly (not their fault, it's the franchise owners fault). I've been overcharged a couple times (by a couple dollars, not a huge deal), but it's still a bit annoying since transaction equipment is available and inexpensive for a small business owner to buy. Also, a couple reviews mention this being a "mom and pop" shop. It's actually a chain restaurant with quite a few locations. Nothing wrong with that, just thought I'd be a nerd and clarify :D

Best soft serve ice cream in town. One of the few places to still get Malts with great malt powder too. And if you miss the banana pie treat from that other ice cream shop, come to tastee freeze and try their banana one....chunks of banana, whip cream and vanilla wafers =YUM! Grill food is fabulous as well.

Quick friendly service! Excellent hidden gem! Want good food or a tasty treat this is your spot! Burgers, hot dogs, fries, all the nostalgic drive in yummies! Frozen treats, ice creams, dipped cones, slushies, malts and shakes to name a few. Visit this spot and make some memories! Picnic tables to enjoy outside. No indoor seating, walk up only building.

Old school style ice cream shop with good pricing. Take and go or eat on outside benches only. They have a daily $.99 cash and carry special. Every day of the week there is a different cash and carry item, and each week repeats. A person can then figure out which day of the week you like the special and have an inexpensive treat.

When I have a craving for soft serve, I alternate between Tastee Freez and the other local ice cream place. Some unique treats like the cheesecake on a stick set this venue apart. Prices are about average to a little more budget friendly. Service is pleasant. Parking is the only thing to be desired.

Great place to experience a sense of community as this is a place where people from the surrounding area gather outside to enjoy a large variety of sweet deserts and fried food. My favorite is the Carmel Apple Sunday. Mmmmmm. One of my favorite places to go and enjoy a moment of comfort. Great job

Fantastic little spot! Has all the same item as those "other guys" and is very quick. Sit down and relax while you wait for your order which shouldn't be more than a few minutes. They also employee a lot of high school kids and do use a machine to add your order which was a refreshing surprise in today's day and age. A hidden gem in Moorhead.

Seriously a hidden gem in the heart of Moorhead! I love walking to Tastee Freez on a warm summer night and getting the $0.99 ice cream special. Waffle Cone Wednesday is the best day! Also, their ice cream is seriously TASTEE! Important note: this is a seasonal establishment (outdoor seating only) and closes during the winter. Enjoy as often as possible while you can! :)

Tastee Freez is Moorhead's best-kept secret! It may not look like much from the outside, but the ice cream is the best in town - which is saying a lot considering the recent boom in local frozen novelty shops. This locally-owned hidden gem has truly stood the test of time. My personal favorite is the Freezee (think DQ blizzard, but better). Bring cash to partake in the .99 cent (plus tax) deal of the day! Important note: grill closes at 8:30 p.m.

BEST ICE CREAM in Fargo Moorhead! A must visit in the summer months. The staff is always friendly and the prices are cheap. Try a cone with KrunchKote, or an ice cream sandwiches that they make on site, or a maltie which is a frozen malt on a stick that they make on site.

A lot of times in life you're going to get suggestions from people that you can't even imagine to be true. Tastee Freez for me was one of those places. I grew up on DQ back in Tennessee and in my eyes nothing compared to that. After continuous suggestions from coworkers I finally gave it a shot. I was instantly blown away! My suggestion? Give the Garlic Chicken Melt a go. Make sure you wash it down with a butterscotch milkshake too!
