The place is nice and delicious! The parking can be difficult if you come during the high time. Otherwise, I love the slow and steady. It has a creamy chocolate taste with some pecan nut perfect for chocolate lover like me. My husband got the cookies and cream - he love it but I didn’t like it much. We will come back to try other flavor for sure.

The ice cream was excellent, extremely airy and delicious. It had a doughy, sticky texture (I'm not sure if that description does it justice, sounds a little weird) which was great. I got the Thai tea flavor and Rain Or Shine - the Thai tea actually tastes like Thai tea, which impressed me because I thought it would be some fake imitation. It had real flavors of the tea flavor and condensed milk and it was just the right sweetness. Rain Or Shine was just as good - you could taste the fragrance of the lavender and the lemon base. It wasn't overpowering, as some other places will make lavender flavored things taste like lavender soap. While I didn't get the other flavors, my friends that I came with can vouch for them - all delicious. Get the two that seem most appealing to you, and come back later to try more. Also, they give quite a lot (in the cones, at least), I got 1 split scoop and it was more than I expected. Great experience, I will be back for more!

This place is really good. I had the strawberry almond cheesecake and it was so creamy and perfectly balanced. Not one flavor dominated. My son had pb and cookies, and said it was the best he's ever had. The waffle cone was good but not particularly memorable, it was all about that ice cream. Easy to get to, parking around back.

This is in my top 5 ice cream cones I’ve had stateside and the hands down best waffle cone I’ve ever had. It is light, it is crispier than any thing I’ve had before. I had the Heart of Glass and it is Phenomenal. My kids loved the PB Cookies & Cream. The staff was fast, friendly and very sweet. Price was extremely reasonable for quality. I’m thrilled. We will be back!!

Always a great experience. Staff is friendly, they entertain your questions about the flavors and help you decide. With many delicious options it can be difficult sometimes! They have plenty of sitting, and a parking lot in the back. Cereal Milk flavor is my favorite!

If you like thai tea and you haven't tried the thai tea ice cream, what are you doing in life. This ice cream is the BEST thai tea ice cream. It is so amazing. The cereal flavor is also really great too. If I lived closer I would come here all the time.

This place is ridiculously addicting. I went twice in less than a week for the Heart of Glass flavor. The Blondies are SO good! Happy wife has Pound cake pieces that taste like someone's grandma with the fat back arms made it. The ice cream itself is creamy and light. Oh and the CONE?? Bihhhhhh… brown butter waffle cone literally melts in yo mouf. 10/10 recommend. Go right now.

i like their icecream. they have a lot of flavors and i always go for the basic one, follow your nose. love the name, super cute. the inside is cozy and staffs are nice. parking i believe is shared with some other company next door or street parking. great place to hangout with friends. if you haven't been, i do recommend it here!

BEST ICE CREAM EVER. Their Thai tea ice cream and Rain or shine (earl grey + lavender) is my go-to combo. These flavors are like nothing I've ever tasted before. Very unique flavors that I love so much. Perfect dessert after a meal. They have a huge variety of flavors that you could mix and match and get a free taste of. Employees are nice. The place is cute and has plenty of seating. Absolutely my favorite local ice cream shop!

This is some of the best ice cream I've ever had in my life. It's absolutely delicious. I ordered the Happy Wife and some sort of fudge sundae and they were both incredible. I agree with others that the ice cream isn't too sweet. Plus the flavors and textures are to die for. I would definitely recommend this place!

Hey there! If you're looking for a sweet treat that will satisfy your sweet tooth, then Milk + Sugar is definitely the place to be! The ambiance of the place is really nice and it has a great vibe. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, and they really make you feel at home. Although the parking can be a bit of a challenge during peak times, it's totally worth the effort. Once you try their slow and steady, you'll be hooked! This creamy chocolate goodness with pecan nut is perfect for all chocolate lovers out there. My husband tried the cookies and cream and he absolutely loved it, although it wasn't my personal favorite. Nonetheless, there are plenty of other flavors to choose from, so we're definitely planning to come back to try them all! Overall, I highly recommend Milk + Sugar to anyone who wants to indulge in a tasty dessert. You won't be disappointed!

What’s great about this place is the unique flavors that they offer with a wide variety of interesting ones to choose from. I’m a big cereal milk ice cream guy and I’m so glad they have an option like that here, though I was hoping it would have had a stronger flavor as the cereal milk base is a bit more toned down than I would’ve wanted, but it was still great nonetheless. The prices are also pretty fair when you consider they’re using higher quality ingredients compared to a standard ice cream shop. Will be back to try more flavors!

The ice cream was so good! Had it in a cup but the waffle cones sweet aroma wanders through the place. I had a split scoop of Dulce de Horchata/Recess and would definitely recommend these flavors. Can't wait to try others!

I’m not sure whether I loved the ice cream or the brown butter brown sugar waffle cones more, but thankfully I got to enjoy both. The flavors of Recess and Sundae Funday were perfect for a moderate chocolate craving like the one I had and the cone only made it better. I can’t wait to try their less chocolatey flavors next time to get a better idea of what the menu has to offer.

Great place for some good ice cream. They have parking in the back so don’t fear. Staff is great and have great selection for ice cream. They don’t to samples due to COVID but it doesn’t matter - the ice cream is great and you won’t be disappointed.

I got heart of glass and dulce de horchata in a cone. The dulce de horchata had a bit more cinnamon than I would have asked for but it was good nonetheless. The heart of glass was good and it had chunks of sugar blondies. If you’re a texture person or don’t like to chew ice cream I wouldn’t recommend heart of glass because the chunks were really hard (I personally was a fan of it).

We wanted some desert and what a treat was Milk and Sugar! The smell of the waffle cone hits you as soon as you walk in. The flavor combinations are on the wall as you enter and show if any flavors are unavailable. We tried two single scoops during our visit: Strawberry Almond Cheesecake and Sunday Funday on the waffle cone. Both flavors were delicious and the waffle cone was a homerun. I can't wait to come back and try other flavor combinations.

This is a small shop with a variety of flavors of ice cream. I enjoyed that they use different bases (cereal milk, cream cheese, sweet cream, etc) for the flavors. The staff were patient as we picked out the flavors. Downsides were it is a small shop, and they had the music loud enough that we had to raise our voices to hear each other across the table. There is a very tight parking lot to squeeze in behind the shop.

Good selection of ice cream. Great environment if you decide to sit there and eat. My fav was the strawberry cheesecake flavor. Also you get two big scoops of ice cream for about $5-6 which is great value.

Sweet little ice cream place in Montrose. Unique flavors — not for your typical chocolate / vanilla etc. I had the slow and steady (chocolate with caramel and pecans) half scoop with city that never sleeps (coffee and pretzel base with chocolate flakes); strong flavors shining through. Parking is an issue, typical due to location. Open until midnight on Fri / Sat.

YUM! This place was quite tasty and had a very cute, relaxing atmosphere inside. Great place to grab ice cream, take a date, or relax on the weekend while enjoying some delicious treats. The staff members were all kind and respectful. The parking lot is a bit small, but that comes with their location. They have delicious flavors that are unique and their ice cream is very smooth. You won’t regret trying this place out!

I am revising the review after the compelling explanation by the owner, which I really appreciate, and to better reflect the quality of their product. This is literally one of the (if not "the") best ice cream places in town. My only disappointment was about their customer service. They wouldn't sell to us a waffle cone because they were "just made and still warm." After I explained I was okay with it since I would eat it on the side, the reason changed to "we want to keep them for the customers that will arrive later." It is still surprising to me that selling a few extra cones (which were just in front of me on their container...) would jeopardize the store operations, but this is their call, and I don't want to further discuss. Just adding that after a few minutes, they resumed serving ice cream on the cones, showing it was not such a big deal and obviously making me even more upset. I will continue to go and enjoy milk + sugar ice cream, hoping they will be able to better address situations like this one in the future.

Some of the best ice cream in Houston. Get a split so you can get 2 scoops of different flavors. If you like Thai tea then you will love the ice cream. The Butter pecan is the best I've ever eaten. It's been out the last 2 times I've went. It's that good. Rain or shine is the most refreshing dessert I've had in a long time. Easy one of my favorites. There are easily 4 more flavors that would be my favorite.

I love this Ice cream shop !! They don’t sell boring vanilla, only creative flavors !!! That all are tasty I selected the strawberry cheese cake and it was amazing !!! Cute shop located in the corner. Parking in the back of building but if full no worries you can park in the neighborhood and make a short walk. Must try!

Great unique ice cream flavors! The staff was friendly and helpful. We sampled a couple of flavors and settled on strawberry almond cheesecake and thai tea. The ice cream was creamy and had great flavor. Will definitely return to try the other flavors. After returning many times, the thai tea is our favorite flavor from our favorite ice cream place. Spacious interior with a various seating. Decent parking in the back. Nice clean unisex bathroom/water closet (WC).

The Thai tea ice cream is delicious. They have very unique flavors. Plenty of seating inside and plenty of parking out back. The service was very helpful and friendly. The ice cream is labeled with name and ingredients so the clipboard menu seems redundant. The waffle cone was thin and flavorful, but a lot of ice cream was dripping at the bottom. The water cups are tiny. Would definitely come back here.

Summertime means a cold treat is needed so we thought to try out Milk + Sugar to see if we would like it or not. The location is small and on the corner so pay attention or you might miss it. There is a very small parking lot behind the store. The amount of flavors are limited, but the flavors they do have sound delicious. There are options of cup or cone along with choice in scoop sizes. Pricing is average with the rest of the ice cream stores. I was a bit bummed that the flavor I wanted to try Sundae Funday was out, but that’s okay and I went for Slow & Steady. It was smooth and had a good mix of pecans inside, but I could have gone for more caramel. I found very little in my scoop. I also grabbed a waffle cone with my ice cream. It tastes different from your usual waffle cone probably because they make their own cones. It had a toasted flavor to it, but it was a bit too crunchy for me. A scoop of Recess was also tried and tasty. Of the two flavors, Slow & Steady won out. It’s outside our usual area so not sure when or if we will go again, but I would not mind going back and trying the Sundae Funday.

The flavors here are incredible! I'm quite an avid ice cream eater, and this place is legit. I'm not even a waffle cone fan, but their house-made waffle cones are FIRE and took me back to the taste of some comforting cereal when I was a kid. If I'm ever in Houston again, I'll make a point to come here.

Was craving ice cream one day and decided to come here. It was an amazing choice! the ice cream is absolutely delicious, and perfect for a hot day. The time I visited, the only accepted credit card, so keep that in mind. But besides that, the options of ice cream are wonderful, and the ice cream is great!

The ice cream here is delicious ! They are constantly adding seasonal flavors that are to die for. I go here once a week, I love the unique flavors, I would definitely recommend "cereal milk" & "heart of glass ". Cereal milk is a creamy base that has the perfect amount of crunchy frosted flakes and the heart of glass has Blondie brownie pieces that make the ice cream a perfect mixture of brownie and milk. I love this place and I would definitely recommend if in Houston

The ice cream is delicious! A lovely spot for flavorful ice cream and a cozy environment. I brought my friend from Chicago here and he said it's the best ice cream he's had, which is saying something! Portions are generous. Recommend getting the 1/2 and 1/2 scoops of two flavors for the best of both worlds.

OMG this is probably the best ice cream shop I've been to. The Hold the raisins flavor was so delicious!! You definitely can taste the quality and freshness of the ingredients. Really loved their rain or shine flavor. By far one of my favorites ice cream flavors and I never knew it was missing in my life. Happy wife is the second flavor I got even though it looks like it's just one flavor. Happy wife was also a great choice. What delightful staff and delicious freshly made products. The place is usually crowded, but you wont have a problem finding a seat. I had wonderful ice cream with a-cheesecake/lemon base with added blueberries and graham cracker crumbs. It was served in freshly made waffle cone. Delish!!!

Not my cup of tea. Had the recess and my serving had like zero toppings. The concept is cool, but if you like typical ice cream, this place might not be the best for you. The consistency of the sweet cream ice cream is definitely interesting and is a little hard to maneuver with a spoon. However, the servings are worth the price. My boyfriend enjoyed his “follow your nose” ice cream which seemed to have a good amount of fruit loops.

Wow! I have to say, when I passes by this the first time, I thought it was just like another insta-worthy-tryna-be place but I was so, so damn wrong. Everything is so surprisingly delicious! Flavors are extremely accurate to their name, unlikely some place where you only tastes the creamy milky but no flavor. They have quite a lot of options, my fav were honey lavender, chocolate and thaitea. Definitely will be back! (-) menu items were named randomly. I guess they wanted to be unique or special, but to me, I'd just prefer the regular name which tells what flavor is it. But overall, well done!

Some of the best ice cream I have ever had. Don't go if you want everyday flavors. Their combinations are original and tasty. They offer a split scoop which gives you 1/2 a scoop of two different flavors. Both scoops are generous.

My boyfriend got a pint of Happy Wife, Happy Life and I got the Sundae Fundae. The ice cream was pretty good and very creamy. The downside is that their pints are pre-made, which is fine, but they won't custom mix one for you. If you want two get a pint with two flavors, rip. With that said I'd definitely return again to try out some other flavors.

Easily some of the best ice cream I've had ever! The ice cream is delicious, as are their homemade waffle cones. The ice creams come in a selection of interesting and delicious flavours, although I wouldn't recommend this place if you're looking for more classic flavours and toppings. I personally always recommend the City That Never Sleeps flavour and the Horchata flavour; City That Never Sleeps is a delectable mix of espresso ice cream with chocolate flakes and pretzel crumbs, while the Horchata flavour has the classic mouthwatering taste of the famous Central/South American sweet rice drink. The ice creams are not overly expensive for how amazing they are either, and one can purchase pints of ice cream to take home! Easily one of my favoured spots in the Houston area!

I've given this place a review in the past. Firstly the ice cream is extremely creamy just like I like it. My flavor of choice is the Thai tea. Only because I feel like they can improve their mix-in ice creams. They claim their cereal is toasted but still tastes stale in the 'cereal milk.' The pretzels in one of their other ice creams also taste stale. This time the cake in the happy wife tasted old. Not sure if they are just riding the wave but hope they can maintain quality considering there is only one location and I actually like this place. Hard to come buy good ice cream shops.

This place was kond of an impulse stop. The parking was not great and there was a lot of traffic. And despite all of this it was absolutely worth the stop. I had the two scoop cone with pecan butter streusal and the peanut butter cookies and cream. This is hands down the best ice cream I have ever had. This is going to be a mandatory stop every time I come to Houston.

3.5 stars. This is good handcrafted ice cream with great service. But it wasn't great for the price. The texture of the ice cream was not as creamy as I like and the flavor was lacking. If I'm going to indulge in pricey ice cream, I personally prefer Jeni's or Van Leeuwen.

Awesome homemade ice cream!!! All of the ice cream including the mix-ins that go into them are made right there in house. The homemade mix ins and waffle cones make the place smell amazing. All the flavors are very very good. My favorites are the "Butter Pecan Streusel" "Thai Tea" and "City that never sleeps". My wife likes "Happy Wife" and "Strawberry Cheesecake".

Milk + Sugar is adorable and smells incredible, and the ice cream is maybe the best in the city. Frequently busy but totally worth it. You won't find many of the usual flavors here, but the artisan flavors are outstanding. The cereal milk and toasted corn flake flavor is the star of the show, but the horchata flavor is not far behind. Definitely worth checking out... and then coming back repeatedly.

Amazing ice cream! I got the cereal milk flavor (froot loops), and it was like a delicious bowl of cereal in ice cream form. My husband got the sundae funday and the chocolate based caramel one, and both were amazing. The scoop is very large! The cone tastes like a Dutch stroopwafel.

When a place claims: "We were looking for the right "chew", speed of melting, not too sweet, super creamy and never icy. Yeah, you can say we're picky." One must remember to test this very bold claim. I did such test and let me tell you, they have succeeded. This place is everything you're looking for in ice cream. No detail too small has been left out in the development and quality of this ice cream. You can tell that even the cake that's in "Happy Wife" was obsessed over. We like to find independent gourmet ice cream shops wherever we go and after a quick Google search, this place came up with good reviews. Not disappointed at all, we went there twice! Anyone who loves chocolate must try the chocolate flavour icecream with the Pecans! And the brown butter brown sugar ice cream is to die for! I'd love to visit and try all the flavours. Nov. 2021 visit. Had the Sundae Funday, and a few sample spoons before I chose, as does everyone. So effin good. Not cloyingly sweet, nor lacking depth of flavor. The sweet cream base was a great compliment to the rich brownie and the fudge ripple. The cereal milk and the butter pecan streusel are next on the hit list.

So... I think this is a really nice ice-cream spot, but I wasn't blown away. It's a quirky store, with a very open layout and long benches. They have interesting names for their flavours. Great spot for family, friends, couples etc. However, I don't think the flavours themselves are mind-blowing. I had the PB crunch and sundae funday. I really enjoyed them both, but they weren't super exotic/unique in terms of taste. Got it on a cone, which for me was sweetness overdose. I prefer cones that are a little toned down in terms of sugar. Portions are huge (but then again I've spent the last 8 years in England... where they are definitely stingier with their portion sizes). Would I go back? Probably. P.S. We went on a weeknight around 8-9pm and had trouble finding parking. Ended up having to park across the street at some other food place and rushed back with our ice creams.

Found this little gem in the Heights. It is absolutely delicious. I think the menu changes and their current one is delicious. They serve fairly large scoops, but if you don't want to eat too much but still try two flavors, get it "Split". And definitely get the waffle cone. I think they use brown sugar to make it and they make it to order in-house. I recommend the Butter Pecan Streusel for sure!

Tip: I came here post COVID-19. They need hand sanitizer at the register. I was a bit nervous handling food after touching the screen of thier POS system, and seeing multiple people touch it before me. Next time I'll bring my own.

I want to go back to try all of the flavors. The flavors offered are unique and the waffle cone is so so good. That's all you smell from the outside in and its really inviting. I had the strawberry chesecake and the dulce de leche horchata and i really enjoyed both. The flavors have weird names that don't describe the ingredients so I can see the ordering process being slow and causing a line if I went during a more crowded time. The prices are average for a dessert place in this area. I would definitely return to have other flavors.

We came the 2nd week it was open but they were already running smoothly. Generally, we try to avoid businesses when they are first opening up so they can work out the kinks but the pictures online were too overwhelming. We came on a Saturday night and we were happy they are open late. They actually have a private parking lot in the back, which is rare for the Montrose area. The driveway is really steep so go at an angle. Once inside, you see all the cute decor and it is a simple set up. They have a small board with the flavors and the ingredients. You are able to sample the different flavors, we tried 3, and ended up buying a triple scoop. We opted for Heart of Glass, Happy Wife, and Cereal Milk. All were delicious but the Cereal Milk flavor was my absolute favorite!!! We will be coming back for late night dessert!

I walked in and asked for a recommendation. Girl said this was her favorite combo and it was soooo good. 'Rain or shine' (AKA earl grey + lemon + lavender base) and 'Thai tea' ice cream. They really pair well together. The space is quite nice, but not the most comfortable chairs. The service was good, and the scoops are quite large. They don't mix the icecream with anything or marble it, but it's still creamy and delicious and definitely worth the visit.

OMG so good, we went on Saturday night(we were trying to make an 8:00 movie but opted for ice cream and a later movie so glad we did)- and there was a small line but it moved fast. The flavors have names like "rain or shine" and"recess" etc so there is an employee that comes through the line handing out clipboards with a menu that has the descriptions on it which helps. They encourage you to sample everything which is nice. I got the rain or shine which is Earl grey, lemon and lavender. I really liked although all I really tasted was the lemon and a very little bit of Earl grey, no lavender though 😕 they should kick up the Earl grey and add dried lavender flowers either in it or as an optional topping. I think if you are ordering something with lavender you like it enough to want the flowers in it. My son had one of their cones with the horchata flavor which was delicious. We had sampled the Thai tea and we decided to go back Sunday and get a Thai tea, I got a scoop in a cup to eat there and a scoop to take home 👍 and he got a double scoop cone- (the cones are brown sugar, brown butter, very good)- with rain or shine & Thai tea. We will definitely be back and I love that they have a parking lot in rear with a back and front entrance. Back entrance has a ramp for those of you who need it. It's a cute little shop with great unique flavors, awesome texture, friendly service oh and a unisex CLEAN bathroom. Go check it out it's our new favorite spot. Baskin Robbins who lol.

Ice cream tasted amazing me and my wife came here for the first time and although service couldve been better as we were both stopped at the door to be told to put on masks while there were people sitting down inside eating it seemed odd and honestly we were kinda uncomfortable of how you have to wear a mask to go inside but once youre in and eating you can take them off. Besides that, the area isnt the best as when we pulled up there were young black men standing outside with bandanas. Shirtless and plenty of tattoos with girls half dressed, so do think twice before coming with kids " out of all places, an ice cream shop am i right?" Parking was a bit tight and limited so it did take a while not only to park but also to pull out; plenty of people walking the streets but the only thing that coulve been better if they paid attention to the outside of theyre store as people just standing around in a certain type of way can make others feel a bit uncomfortable and honestly i was about to not even go inside out of fear of beign robbed or something. Good ice cream but lacks area and service.

Personally I think the ice cream is decent but the store is a bit overrated. Not many options cause most of the flavors has the similar base. The texture is soft but still creamy. I will say the staff are doing their job, not unfriendly but definitely without passion.

The strawberry almond cheesecake!!! My favorite flavor at any of this boutique/artisan ice cream shops and I've been to a number around town. The cheesecake bits aren't too sweet and most of all that almond flavor is the best! Make it stand out from other strawberry cheesecake ice creams. Also got the Thai tea and it was super fragrant and also not too sweet!
