I just found out about this place today and went to get myself a cup of ice cream and it’s amazing! I had to take a picture of the flavors and menu because I am definitely coming here again. It’s so warm and inviting with lots of options and friendly workers!

You know they're good when they are BUSY! And I can confirm they were delicious. They moved as quickly and efficiently as possible with how busy they were. The ice cream was so delicious and flavorful. Definitely will be back.

Heavenly Delights is the perfect ice cream shop! Never have bad service. The soft serve is the business. My daughter loves all the hard pack ice cream flavors and they even offer the old school slushes! The owners are pretty awesome too! This is a regular for our family and I would recommend it to anyone whose in town during the summer months.

Heavenly Delights is a local favorite in Grimes. We live outside of town in Granger now, however, SO WORTH THE DRIVE. Heavenly Delights has TONS of choices for ice cream flavors. My son's new favorite flavor is "Rich & Famous" I did try it and it was pretty amazing. I always get the Crunch Shakes- the Hawaiian is soooo good. The staff here is always friendly and interact with the kids. My kids LOVE getting the edible eye balls on whatever they choose. If you have not stopped by, you are definitely missing out.

We got a strawberry flavored cone and a small chocolate malt - the help was good/friendly, the price was good, the quality was good. There was a decent amount of parking but it was really packed so things were kinda tight. It was a little musty smelling inside, possibly from being closed up all winter. Not much in the way of seating, it looked like most people just grabbed and go, but it would be nice if there was more seating.

Fantastic ice cream and almost too many choices, from hard scooped ice cream to soft serve, bowls and shakes and waffle cones and malts and smoothies. And toppings. Plenty of those. Super delicious and highly recommended

Delicious ice cream treats. Good service by high school students, and there are walk-up windows inside and out to serve you. A small cone is $3.25, so I wouldn't call the prices inexpensive, but probably at a level to make reasonable profit. Give it a try if you haven't been there!!

LOVE this place. Have been dozens of times and they have some really good ice cream. I have only had the hard ice cream. The large cup is $4.25 and they fill it VERY full. I eat a lot of ice cream and the large is honestly a little too much, but it's only $0.50 more... so you kinda have to do it. Favorite flavors: Peanut Butter Fudge & a "heavenly" combo of cookie dough, brownies, and chocolate cookie crumbs. EDIT: They recently added a "Pub Crawl" flavor that involves chocolate and espresso and I. AM. A. FAN.

Cute little shop with LoTS of choices. They close for the season in November But you can get pints or quarts to take home and stock the freezer. When I went it was busy and they had one employee in the whole place. She was doing a great job - she was friendly and didn’t rush to make things sloppy. I just moved to the area but this will definitely be a place I visit often.

My favorite ice cream shop of all times! They have a great selection of classic & unique flavors of hard-packed ice cream! They also have soft serve with over 100 flavor combinations. They are very kid friendly and will put little candy eyeballs on a kids cone. My favorite flavor they have is Monster Cookie, yep, just like the cookie it’s vanilla ice cream loaded with peanut butter, m&ms, oats, it’s amazing! Very friendly family owned local business!

Last time I was there, I ordered a cherry amaretto shake which they made for me and was delicious. When I ordered it this time, they said they aren't allowed to make hard pack ice cream shakes. When a small business trains their employees or any business, everyone should be given and following the same rules. It is very disappointing to look forward to something and find out you can't have it anymore. I adjusted and ordered something else that was also delicious. I'm just saying all employees should know and follow the same rules.

If you're looking for one of the best local ice-cream pallor's in the area and want to avoid the boring national chains then look no further. Here the prices are fair and the service is excellent. There are a lot of great choices from regular soft serve in a waffle or sugar cone, to complex malts and shakes in a variety of delicious flavours that'll be sure to satisfy that ice-cream itch.

The best ice cream! We travel from Ankeny just to have this ice cream. Other ice cream places make me sick but this one does not. Most of the high school employees are friendly and let you try a sample before you pick you flavor. I’ve only had one unfriendly server in the 2 years we’ve been there. I think she was just having a bad... but she might hate her job... not sure! 🤷🏼‍♀️

Very reasonable cost with hard packed ice cream. Cherry Amaretto, chocolate and peanut butter are family favorites. Mint ice cream with Oreo shake is best for the shakes.

Nice local ice cream store serving soft serve and hard scoop ice cream with a bunch of options. They have a cool machine that combines mixins into soft serve so the mixins are all over in the ice cream, really cool and good. Lots of flavor options and mixins for soft serve. Soft serve tastes more on the yogurt side to me, but still good. Probably has a dozen or so hard ice cream options. My wife really enjoyed her hard scoop ice cream and from the little I had, I'd agree.

We visited Heavenly Delights for the first time in Sunday night after living in the Johnston/Grimes area for 10+ years now. Have always heard good things about it and the ice cream was very good. The place was really busy on a warm Sunday evening (to be expected) but it made it difficult to see the case to checkout all the flavors to be prepared to order when it was our turn. The various menu options (cones, bowls, sundaes, shakes, etc) weren't the most clearly explained on the board as to exactly how small/large they were. My daughter ordered a medium bowl and she would've been fine with a small, which was what I ended up ordering for myself. My wife ordered a shake that was also about a size larger than she would have preferred. Overall the experience was good from the ice cream perspective. I will say that when we went inside, there was a very strong smell of....almost like a bag of lawn fertilizer sitting around or some sort of pesticide. Not sure if they had just recently had a pest servicing done it what the situation was, but we weren't staying long anyway since it was busy and crowded.

Ice cream is great, soft serve is not. They don't have vanilla besides the soft serve so if that's what you want you'll have to go elsewhere but you'll be missing out, the hard scooped ice cream is very good

This place is Heaven on Earth. I get the crunch come. Every. Time. What is a crunch cone? Let me tell you. It is Vanilla soft serve ice cream that mixes m&ms, heath, oreos, or krunch kote into your soft serve ice cream cone. That's right, it spits the m&m pieces into the icecream as it is coming out of the machine. It's a soft serve vanilla & m&m cone. Mind Blown. Do yourself a favor and get one, because as if eating a soft serve m&m cone wasnt good enough, their soft serve is also off the hook. This place does it right. It might look busy, but it has enough staff to move you through quick.
