Wow . What a great place to visit here in Chicago especially since i had a sweet tooth. My sister introduce me to this business. The line was not long at all. Everyone had face mask on. The options are plenty, the young lady at the window gave great advice and was it big help. I recommend this to any age.

The treats here are always good a bit expensive but good. I normally get a mini funnel sundae with caramel. The regular size was is huge but great for sharing. The cheese for the nachos is pretty good as well.

My one reason of going to Six Flags has finally been fulfilled by Sugar Shack. My treat at six flag has always been getting a funnel cake sundae, and Sugar Shack has some of the best funnel cake sundaes! They have mini and full sized funnel cake sundaes, I personally love the mini ones. You can get one wet and one dry topping, it is totally reasonably priced, it is cash only, and for the most part their is usually a line, but it goes quick. You won't regret getting the funnel cake sundae and their ice cream if you want just a simple cone is pretty great. I did not love the ice cream sandwich with the cookie. I love my cookies soft and the cookie for the sandwich was harder than I like, but if you don't mind hard cookies, it was tasty.

Lots of delicious options here! Funnel cake sundaes are HUGE and the mini is plenty for one person! It’s sidewalk service and the line can be long.. on Saturday evening it took about 20 minutes to order but worth the wait! FYI cash only!!

Be ready for extraordinarily long lines. If you can get there while the lines aren't long, the funnel cake is excellent. I once reviewed Sugar Shack saying it was overpriced, but this is no longer the case. For the amount of food you are served, (which seems to be quite a bit), you're definitely getting your money's worth.

Quite a surprising find! Tucked away in a residential area (you will think you're lost), this place is most definitely a treat! Be prepared to wait in line. It's a very popular place. It is CASH ONLY. Most definitely worth the trip though. The desserts are fantastic with great prices.

The mini funnel cake is great. I get it with chocolate brownies with either strawberry or chocolate fudge. The sky shoes are also good oh and the Italian ice! It’s way to many choices on menu and low prices !

One of the best ice cream spots in the city. I had the double scoops cup with the rainbow sherbet and the strawberry cheesecake. I licked that bowl clean. I also had to try the deep fried oreos. Nice and moist. Definite stop during those hot summer days. Try it out if you are in the neighborhood.

I heard this was one of the best dessert spots in Chicago so I stopped in to get my sugar fix. I had a small funnel cake sundae and it was fantastic!! I would recommend it and I will return. The only reason I did not rate 5 stars is the service. Both the employee who took my order and the one who gave it to me when complete did so without any sense of interest in my existence. No "thank you", no "you're welcome", no "is there anything else you need".

Cash only, worth the wait. My favorite is the soft serve. If you go at 'off' times you might avoid the wait. Tucked away on a very neighborhood street in Bridgeport this ice cream shop delights! I also love how diverse the crowd is, ice cream brings everyone together!

Funnel cakes and ice cream. What a combination. No longer do you have to wait for the county fair to enjoy this pair. Go to sugar shack and do the responsible thing.... get the mini. You can have your cake... err your funnel cake and eat it with ice cream too. Enjoy the fact that you can also add toppings of your choice to your dessert. The topping options are plentiful. No matter what you choose, I'm sure it will be delicious. The funnel cake comes out fresh and oh so tasty. While not exactly housed in a shack, this place is walk up style with very limited sidewalk table seating. You order at a window and wait for your order to be called. It is a little off the beaten path but well worth the visit for a sweet treat. A great 1-2-punch would be a meal in Chinatown followed by a trip to Sugar Shack.

If I can only get one thing here, it would be the funnel cake ice cream thing. What is better than freshly made to order hot funnel cake with a couple scoops of ice cream chocolate syrup sprinkles and a cherry on top? What makes it more special is that it’s seasonal, so you have to wait till summer time to get your fix. I wish I remembered to take a picture of it before eating it all haha

They only sell ice cream treats and desserts of that nature. The funnel cakes and deep fried twinkies are very good. The line gets long but the wait is not that long. Friendly service and the treats are all great!

CASH only and they are closed during the winter months. Check on their website to find out if they have any specials before you go. We went when they had 50% off everything, but you have to mention it to get the discount. They sometimes have a groupon deal. My favorite is their funnel cake sundae, you get 3 scoops of ice cream, one wet topping, one dry topping, whipped cream and one cherry. Free street parking. Long lines during the weekend. They don't open till noon. Enjoy!

It was awesome experience it was crowded , but not rushed the lines long and quick.... just a anticipation of sweet surrender and total bliss !!!! From the Korea grandmother who knew very little English and invited us to sit and talk to the youngest baby who couldn't talk we all wanted it ... the sweet happiness that is Sugar Shack!!! the employees were friendly, kind and patient that didn't mind answering our questions the weather was awesome not to hot or cold just a beautiful day for ice cream or whatever tasty treat your heart desired. ..First experience definitely not my last Lol😍😍😘😘

This is a cute outdoor ice cream shop on the south side. They are known for their funnel cakes but also have dreamsicles, Italian ice, and a number of other desserts. They have a few tables outside for seating.

The people in line can be rude and rowdy (they can't understand that they're standing in line and shouldn't be hogging the entire sidewalk), but if you can get past that, then you're in for a treat! For $4.45, cash only, you can get a mini-funnel cake laden with ice cream, whip cream, cherry, a dry topping, and a wet topping. I love strawberries and oreos as my toppings. It is heavenly! I also suggest you share this with a friend. It's too much for one person.

The mini funnel cake looks like the bomb but I decided on a sundae. I asked for pecans and they gave me peanuts. No biggie. They have a variety of toppings for ice cream. I got hot fudge and caramel. The syrup was decent but I like Margie's better.

A hidden gem in an old school Chicago neighborhood. Parking and seating is at a minimum but it's totally worth it on a Summer day or night. The options are endless with ice cream concoctions and funnel cakes. I'm old school and like sundaes and they're phenomenal. Real whipped cream and they don't skimp on the toppings. People complain about the high prices but the quality is high to make it worth it. Make the trip and get here!

Normally I think this place is fantastic, and I always get their funnel cake sundaes and occasionally a slushie as well (I'd recommend the blue raspberry). However when I was there not that long ago, upon placing an order with a Groupon (which said what I ordered was fully paid for) they said tax wasn't covered. Now normally I'd be fine with this, just run to the car and grab a dollar and call it a day but the employee was super rude and disrespectful about it and it completely ruined the experience there. Make sure you bring cash even if you've purchased a Groupon because they will show you a tiny little sign with tiny little font that the Groupon doesn't cover tax.

Great ice cream. But the banana split does have enough ice cream, it's plain n expensive for the price. A banana split should have more ice cream and sprinkle of your choice and toppings. That's a banana split. Customers will appreciate it more for the price.
