Rich in texture and taste, creamier, flavorful and very delicious ice cream with lots of options. After having a lunch at Velvet Taco, our host recommended for this ice cream and we all had this wonderful ice cream just next door to Velvet Taco. The smell of fresh waffles is so amazing when you enter the shop and overwhelms you and you can’t wait to eat ice cream. It was not busy at that time. The staff was courteous and let us taste couple of flavors. The prices seem reasonable, may be little bit on higher side, but worth it. We tried different flavors and all of them were incredible. Even lactose-intolerant people also can enjoy here as there are many non-dairy flavors for them too. After all of the hype around for Jeni’s ice cream, I wanted to try it out. And it really deserves full credit for this heavenly ice cream. I will definitely try on every occasion wherever I find it.

My favourite ice cream shop in Chicago! There’s always a line up but the ice cream is worth the wait! The service is top notch. The flavours are very fruity and creamy and the waffle cones are fresh made and delicious! I will definitely come back to try out more flavours!

Came here on a Saturday afternoon — it was pretty busy but the singular staff member was as efficient as he could be and very friendly. Came to try some of the holiday flavors, but they were out of the majority of them. We ended up getting the Mexican hot chocolate, pumpkin pie roll, and salted peanut butter. The Mexican hot chocolate had a unique spicy after taste. We were not big fans of the pumpkin pie roll as it had a gritty texture. However, we love the salted peanut butter as it was a peanut butter delight. Pro tip: head upstairs for extra seating and bathrooms

We got the Rainbow Frozen Yogurt, Wild berry lavender ice cream, honey vanilla, bramble berry ice cream. Another good thing about the ice cream shop is the fact that their waffle bowls and cones are very fresh... You can see the person making it as you walk down the line. They also give you up to 1 sample per flavor. The Rainbow Frozen Yogurt was an explosion of flavor. The Rainbow Frozen Yogurt was one of the best frozen desserts I ever had. Definitely recommend.. open till midnight.

This is one of the best ice cream places I've ever been to! The flavors are amazing and so so creamy and yummy. You cannot go wrong with any of them but you need to get your ice cream either in a waffle cone, or in a cup with a waffle cone because that cone by itself is a wonderful treat. 10/10 would definitely visit again.

The ice cream here is beyond amazing. I can’t even begin to describe the chills I get upon arrival (you know because it’s cold). The flavors are very authentic and I love that they make the waffle cones and bowls there. It smells wonderful here. They are usually always busy but the line moves fast. Prices are higher than your typical ice cream place but it’s worth every penny. Highly recommend the brambleberry crisp flavor.

Family had great time going through. Line was long but quick. I had the gooey butter cake in a sugar cone, it’s was pretty darn good. Everyone else said the same; salted caramel and salted caramel. Facility was clean and customer service was very friendly.

I appreciate the unique and interesting selection of flavors that Jeni’s ice cream offers! It is great that they are doing taste testing again as this is a crucial part of ordering a flavor you will enjoy at a place like this with so many unique options. I liked how this Jeni’s had an outdoor waiting area which allowed for all customers to be spaced out comfortably while they waited in line to order. I just wish that the portion sizes were a little bigger for the price, and also I was not a huge fan of the savory/salty waffle cone slice that they use to top their ice cream cups.

This location is great and is on one of the tastiest streets in Chicago! The line was out the door, and rightfully so Jenis has some of the best ice cream around. It took some time in line but the staff was working as efficiently as possible. They still dont allow sampling which kind of sucks, if you don’t require masks you can give out samples 🤷🏽‍♀️. We had the gooey butter cake and coffee with cream, those were the definite favorites! We also tried the almond nut flavor and the salted peanut butter which were good but not our favorite. We also picked up a pint to go, which you definitely won’t regret doing! I will say that it is pretty pricey for ice cream especially with the size of the scoops, but the taste is incomparable and the quality is there.

Their flavors are super fun. One is called Brambleberry Crisp. I tried the Gooey Butter Cake and Coffee with Cream and Sugar and both were excellent. The shop is light and airy and welcoming. The staff was super friendly and kind. It is a little pricey but worth it. I would highly recommend this place!

After all of the hype around Jeni's, I was ecstatic to finally try some! Unfortunately, I was left disappointed. I got the dairy-free lemon bar and although it was good, it was extremely overpriced. The portion was tiny and the flavors weren't that good. I wouldn't come back again.

Delicious ice cream! Plenty of flavors and even dairy-free options that go beyond just sorbet. My current favorites are Gooey Butter Cake and Brambleberry Crisp. The waffle cones (with an enticing scent that you can smell for blocks) are heavenly: crisp, crunchy sweetness with salty butter in a perfect balance.

Rainbow frozen yogurt was nice and tangy, a lot of zing and pep. Brambleberry crisp was rich and flavorful and had nice components that complimented the ice cream. The experience was very conventional. Definitely better than Baskin Robinson or any other chain place. Above average but not amazing

My first time trying Jeni's ice cream. OMG, it is soooo good!!!! Couldn't decide on which flavor. Luckily Jeni's single is actually two scoops of ice cream so I could choose two. I chose the lavender and the coffee. The lavender was scrumptious and the coffee tasted just the way I like my morning cup except in delicious frozen form. Too bad there's not a closer Jeni's to me or maybe that's a good thing actually. 😄

One off the best ice creams this city has to offer. It's almost always a line and the wait time is ussualy 10-15 minutes from the start to the point you start eating you ice cream. They also have an upstair seating.

I love every bit of their ice cream especially the vegan cold brew. I deducted a star because they guy tried to make me pay for the free triangle cone pieces when I asked for one to go with the pint of ice cream I was buying and usually they would just give me one for free so that was sad but I guess inflation is everywhere

I was searching online for a dessert place and was curious when I read that Jeni's has unique flavors. The line was to the door which was fine. It gave me a chance to read all the different signs in the store. Since I had this one chance, I wasn't quite sure how I was going to narrow down my choice to one flavor. Thankful for the Trio which is 3 half scoops! I got the Strawberry Buttermilk, Wildberry Lavender and Cold Brew with Coconut Cream and a taste of the waffle crisp. The half scoops are pretty generous. Behind the register area, they had pint size ice cream for folks who need to bring some home. I had gone to the seating area upstairs to slowly enjoy every bite. Surely found a sweet gem!

Love! It's everything you want an ice cream shop to be! The smell of waffles fills the air even before you enter. There is usually a line outside so they have an area marked off for the line. We waited in line too for about 10 minutes but the smell fills you up that you don't even mind waiting. The outside is very modern yet old school, Miami vibe yet Chicago, busy yet worth it. The inside is white with splashes of color with their decor choices such as books, t shirts, plants, etc. I really liked their details and their menu design - very simplistic and creative. The ice cream flavors caters to everyone and then some more. Everything and I mean everything tastes wonderful and true to their names. I tried a bunch of flavors before getting my order and I already am looking forward to try new ones in my next visit. They use metal spoons that are reusable for tasting which I appreciate instead of plastic spoons which is environmentally friendly. The staff working were very helpful, sweet and just the kind of people you expect to be working in an ice cream store. There were all age group of people getting their ice cream servings so when you have some time, you must visit! Tip: if you are getting a pint because you already know the flavor you want, then just go to the cashier and get the pint from them directly. You can skip any line if buy the pint!

We went to the grand opening. The line was super long. That's a testament to how good this place is. They have great company stories and they care about putting the best ice creams together for their customers. Give yourself some time to read through their menu and know what flavors you want. There's just way too many choices. Haha. The second floor has a great view of Randolph Street. Definitely hang out there for a little bit while enjoying your ice cream.

Good quality ice cream with a wide set of amazing flavours. We tried 2 half scoops of buttery gooey ice cream which was amazing and the milkiest chocolate. I did not like the waffle cone much as it was too salty and too crispy. Overall its a great place for icecream with good ambience.

Honey nectar was like a field of flowers. The homemade cone was crumbly to the bite and delicious, and intentionally made for no bottom leaks, being made right as you walk in. The brumbleberry was incredible. The jam was visible and very well infused with the soft cream. Such delicious flavors- I'll be going back for more!

Staff are vibrant! This is an Instagram worthy spot. Line usually out the door, goes by fairly quickly (30 mins tops) Goes by even quicker if you’re talking to someone. The smell of waffles consume you as you enter the shop (excuse me as my mouth waters) You can typically find every flavor (there’s a lot of flavors) at the shop that you can find in store. Pick up is available. Prices are reasonable. Overall amazing spot to take someone to.

I remember I first tried Jeni’s in wicker park 2019 & since it has been my go-to!!! Weather i go in for pints or cones or BOTH! I’ll always be a fan. Brambleberry crisp is my ultimate favorite. However, I recently tried Boston cream and pie and it’s absolutely delicious! Great service in all locations!!!

It smells so delightful when you walk past let alone when you actually go in. The staff are so friendly and sweet. You can watch them make their fresh butter crisp waffle cone. I got chocolate cone and it had fresh brownies and everything! They even have a small cone for kids! Family friendly and definitely I recommend. Let me start by saying this place is so cute and the employee that helped me, Jacob, was a complete doll! He was very patient and let me try several different flavors as I was a first timer. I know several people who rave about this place, so I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, it's just meh. Not bad but not my speed. None of the flavors really stood out for me. I spent $7 on ice cream that left me unsatisfied, which is a hard task. Oh well, I tried.

GF/DF with a DF boyfriend. There was a long line, but that turned out to be good bc the outdoor menu had GF labels in addition to DF ones. Main store menu only had DF labels. Many of the DF options had gluten in them, which was disappointing, and I wish they were more upfront about that. When it was my turn, I told the staff that I’m GF/DF, and she took the time to dig through the freezer for a separate container of the flavor to avoid cross contamination. They take gluten allergies very seriously here!! I wish that my options weren’t just limited to Cold Brew with Sweet Cream or Rosé Sorbet. Ice cream was EXCELLENT!!! We definitely will be back.

I absolutely love Jeni's. I love Jeni's so much, I'll get a cone in the depths of winter and not think twice about it. I love Jeni's so much, I'll wait in a line that wraps around the block to get some. It's just a special ice cream spot with flavors that never disappoint. Some personal favorites include Texas Sheet Cake, The Darkest Chocolate, and Gooey Butter Cake. It's always fun to sample the new flavors and mix and match to put together a truly wonderful ice cream experience. You can always smell the fresh waffle cones being made when you walk by, and that smell is intoxicating. It's almost like they have a magnet that once you smell their cones, you get sucked inside.

Jeni's darkest chocolate has ruined all other chocolate ice creams for me. If I'm not careful, I can eat a whole pint in one sitting. And do yourself a favor to come to the West Loop location. I've found they are more generous in their scoop sizes than say the Wicker Park location.

I’ve been a big fan of Jeni’s for years. I’ve since moved from Chicago so now that I’m back in town for 2 weeks I’m trying to get as much Gooey Butter Cake in as possible. I’ve had it twice so far and might make it a trio before I leave. Service was quick at this particular location, they have plenty of servers on staff. The Gooey Butter Cake is my all time favorite ice cream, it’s out of this world!

Some of the best ice cream we've ever had but you pay for it. Fortunately, we went on the first night of summer and for free triple scoops in a delicious waffle cone or bowl. Flavors really came through though the chocolate was almost too much, like a 90 percentage dark chocolate. Favorite was the salted peanut butter with chocolate.

Jeni’s REALLY went above && beyond for me 😊 it was a fabulous experience 🤩 with Aaron (or Erin, I’m not sure; either way, purple shirt from Saturday night, this one’s for you 🤗) I have a nut allergy. It is severe. After we got through the line && the cool viewing of watching the waffle cone baskets get made, I met Aaron. He was so nice right from the start. He greeted me with a smile && I shared my situation with him. I could not believe his response! He went from the back and got everything new! Ice cream tubs, bowls, test spoons, I mean EVERYTHING! He took his time cleaning it off even more before he used it, and then he looked up the ingredients to double-check the ingredients of the two flavors I wanted to try!! WHILE THERE WAS A WHOLE ENTIRE LINE THAT WENT OUT THE DOOR! (This is Chicago on a Saturday night we’re talking about!) the amount of care he took… it really left me beyond words. And he did it all with a smile. Without being asked. Just because of the goodness in his heart. That means a lot. More than you probably realize. I'd give them 5 stars if they had a vegan waffle cone option and a bit more variety of vegan flavors. However, we can't always have it all and Jeni's excels at what it does! The ice cream is always luxurious, airy, creamy and delicious with the perfect mouth feel--no easy feat for vegan ice cream! Plus, the parlor is always sparkling clean and the staff are just as sweet as the offerings!

We got the trio with the brambleberry crumble, the coconut cold brew and the black forest. By far, my favorite was the black forest which seems to be a new arrival - it was dark chocolate icecream with chocolate fudge, chocolate chips, and chocolate flecks and it was just absolutely delicious. This place is a must go when you visit Chicago. I take all my friends from out of town to try the ice cream here, I have yet to find another ice cream shop that is as good as Jeni’s. Definitely try their salty caramel and dark chocolate. They have a lot of seasonal flavors as well as dairy free options. I used to love their black cat espresso flavor but too bad they don’t have it anymore, I hope they bring it back!

The place is decent yet kinda difficult to get to (as is everything in Chicago for someone who isn't from there). My partner got a scoop of bumbleberry (yes, that's what it said) and it cost me $5.62!! I damn near choked. He loved it though (with a crispy waffle angle).

The smell of freshly made waffle bowls and cones drew me inside. Once inside, I sampled today's specials. The really helpful and friendly staff allowed me to decide which flavors to devour in my waffle bowl. Ample indoor seating allowed me to enjoy my tastey treat. Will definitely go back!

Visited Chicago and was told we had to eat here. Walked past it after two different dinners on two different evenings and both times the lines looked like the wait would almost an hour. So we didn't stop. On our last full day in town we showed up at 11:00 in the morning and ate ice cream for lunch. It was SO GOOD!!! Totally worth making a special trip over there. Wish we had this in our neighborhood (though that would probably be dangerous). We all tried different flavors and everyone loved what they had. Totally worth the price. Parking is limited and there are a large number of restaurants and bars in the area, which makes for a large amount of traffic. However, it does not disappoint as a Jeni's and I would visit again when I have a craving for ice cream

There is always a line coming out of Jeni’s and you should expect to wait 15-30 minutes. Part of it is because most people will try samples which slows down the turn around. Ice cream: 4 stars Selection: 5 stars Service: 4.25 stars Overall: 4.25 stars Recommendations: get the waffle cone, single is more than enough for one person The ice cream here is definitely better than your mass market chain ( Baskin-Robbins, Hagen dazz, etc). But it’s not amazing and you probably will have had better if you at an ice cream fan. The real cool thing about this place is the unique flavors that they have, which you are unlikely to find anywhere else. The waffle cone here is very good and is a stand out among waffle cones.

Jeni’s was recommended to us by our server from another local spot where we had dinner. It was about a block away, so why not? This ice cream shop had a line going OUT the door and DOWN the block! But they were moving people quickly. Jeni’s had some really interesting and great flavors, so our group of 6 opted to get the flight of their 10 signature flavors. It was the right choice! Every person in the group had their own favorite flavor and we were able to try other flavors too. Their frose and milkiest chocolate was a group hit. Wow. Wow. Got 4 flavors to share (all with the fam, no worries), and each one was so distinct in nature from the others. Each one was completely unique in consistency, flavor, even aroma (I'm told they use essential oils in their wild berry lavender). Price: $$$ (relative to other ice cream shops) Food: 4/5 Ambience: 4.5/5 Overall Value: 3/5 Finally got to try out the famous Jeni’s in its Fulton Market location. Even on a crisp, cool Chicago night, it was pretty packed with a line by 7pm… can’t imagine how it gets during the summer. You can order online beforehand though, which is convenient. Once you walk in, you’re greeted with the strong, warm scent of sugar. The flavors are pretty expansive and creative— not a ton of fruit-based flavors but a lot of chocolate-based and other creative flavors. They don’t really have any topping options in-store. There’s also a solid amount of seating space inside, which is nice in colder weather. I got the “single” scoop, which gives you a choice of 2 flavors, and got the Wildberry Lavendar and Goat Cheese with Cherries. Didn’t love the Wildberry Lavendar at first—it was a bit sour but eventually grew on me. The Goat Cheese with Cherries was good: creamy and rich, with the cherries adding a nice additional texture. There were only 3 total vegan options— the Texas Sheet Cake, Cold Brew with Coconut Cream, and Lemon Bar, which is kind of lacking for such a popular place. One of my friends got the Texas Sheet Cake, which was apparently good but overly sweet. But honestly, though the ice cream was good and the flavors were creative, I can't say it was worth the price; I've had tastier, creamier ice cream with similarly creative flavors elsewhere for much cheaper. For example, their “single” option with 2 small/mid-sized scoops for nearly $7 + tax, which is way too much for the amount, and the “triple” option, which gives 3 scoops, is ~$8 + tax. Their pints are $12 which is the most I’ve ever seen.
