Such a cute little spot. Great selection of flavors, sundaes, and treat options. Almost every flavor is delicious! I recently tried their green tea flavor and it is amazing. Tastes like green tea but isn't muddy. Lightly sweet. The store is actually an old fashioned red caboose that has been remodeled inside to be an ice cream store. So much fun!

Great ice cream and shakes! Kids and adults will love it. Expect a line to take about 20-30 mins in the evening. Waffle cones, malts, etc are on the menu. Apparently they also sell hotdogs and have a combo available with drinks and chips.

Top bussin ice cream train in all of the land. Have you seen better frozen dairy on a locomotive 🚂??? Didn't think so. Do yourself a favor and get you a naner split on the double... Whats that u say? Don't like naners? That's cool, they allow substitutes of any and all flavors no big whoop. My banana split comes with pecan, maple syrup, and naner pudding ice cream. Your welcome.

Three of us went at 8:15 on a Saturday night. There were a few parties in front of us, but the line moved fairly quickly. As we ate our ice cream, the line grew, so we definitely went at the right time. We got a scoop of banana pudding ice cream in a waffle cone, a scoop of chocolate chip cookie dough in a bowl, and half cookie dough and half cookies and cream in a waffle cone. It came out to a little more than $12, before tip, which isn’t too bad. The banana pudding was amazing, with actual vanilla wafers in it. The cookie dough and cookies and cream were really good too. Half and half scoop is the way to go because you get more ice cream out of it. They have plenty of parking. They also have 2 trash cans. There’s not much space to eat, so we just stood around a tree planter while we ate. A few problematic things: - In COVID times, he lady ringing us up was wearing a mask, but it wasn’t covering her nose. - One of the guys scooping our ice cream wasn’t wearing a mask at all. - Unrelated to COVID, one of their sundaes is called “Orient Express,” used to describe their sundae with green tea. “Orient” is politically incorrect and I really wish they wouldn’t use this term, especially considering solely white people are working there. Overall, though, I would recommend. Please fix the mask situation though.

Great ice cream served out of a caboose in a parking lot. Some shady spots to sit down and watch the actual train go by. I got the caboose classic. Three scoops, hot fudge, and whipped cream served on a waffle was too much food but very delicious.

This is an awesome place to buy icecream and shakes. It's delicious, although the place is always busy. Friendly staffs, and doesn't take much time once you order. This place is built on old train tracks which makes it look unique.

I am disappointed that I didn't find this hidden gem sooner! My husband loves banana splits and wasn't happy with the one's sold by the larger restaurant chains. After a quick Google search I found this establishment that is literally minutes away from our home. The ice cream was amazing and took us back to childhood. There was a little bit of a wait, but definitely worth every minute.

Most convenient place to get individual servings of Greenwood Ice Cream made about one mile away and served in fine restaurants throughout Metro Atlanta. Every flavor I have ordered has been fantastic, but I especially love peach and lemon custard.

Gives a wonderful old-school ice cream place feel. Been here a couple times and there's usually a good amount of people in line, but not too bad a wait, maybe 10-ish min. Great shakes as well with overall good serving sizes too. Workers have always been friendly. Good place to take the kids.

Very good ice cream and fun atmosphere. A double scoop of ice cream in a waffle cone will run you $5.50. The flavors seem to change regularly, for example I had pumpkin and cinnamon. Great for the family to grab an ice cream and head back towards the rail tracks to watch the Marta and freight trains pass.

One of my favorite local places to get ice cream! I’m glad that they’re still open late in the winter, and love the new flavors too! Only thing that was a concern is that the couple of times I’ve gone, a few of the staff is either not wearing masks or not wearing them properly; the person who was ringing up orders had her nose exposed, and one of the servers who handed me my cone was not wearing a mask at all.

This is a very cute place. It has a huge list of flavors, the prices are great and the line isn't as big as other places. They also sell hotdogs for a full meal hahaha The only thing is that it could do a visual makeover... but being understaffed I guess it got other priorities. If you need a job give them a call!

This part of Chamblee is very family friendly while also sort of hip. You can take your icecream and sit by the railroad tracks to watch the trains. I highly recommend the root beer float . You can start with dinner right across the street at Vintage Pizza.

Absolutely amazing selection of flavors. They have delicious ice cream. There is usually a line in summer but it adds to the ambiance and I enjoy that there are other people around. Just be sure to bring the bug spray for the mosquitoes.

Stopped by this cute little spot because we were really craving some sweets and maaaaaaaan was it one the best decisions we’ve made in a while. They make everything fresh to order right in front of you and everything had the perfect amount of sweetness. Its across from vintage pizza and they have a huge parking lot that’s easily accessible. It took everything out of me to not go back and grab seconds 😭 yes, it’s THAT good. Try their strawberry milkshakes 🤤🤤🤤

We always love going to frosty caboose. The prices are reasonable, especially for kids, and you can sit and watch trains pass from the parking lot. Just don't get too close to the tracks. Sometimes the line is long, but it's definitely worth the wait my two year old loves going to frosty caboose.

Good selection of ice cream. The almond amaretto was great. My son loves trains, so getting I've cream next to the tracks was a big treat for him. Just wish there was a better seating option or some sort of sectioned off area for kids. Also be aware that there is no barrier between the active railroad tracks and the grassy area next to the parking lot.

My husband and I found this place thanks to Scoutmob so we decided to visit for a little ice cream date and we loved it! Both of us had milkshakes and we couldn't believe how delicious they were! He had the mint chocolate chip and I had cookies 'n' cream. They have a good selection of flavors to choose from, which was awesome. Plus, it doesn't hurt that this place is so cute and unique. It's a caboose car! What's not to love? The ice cream comes from Greenwood ice cream around the corner and the prices are amazing compared to what lots of fancy ice cream places charge these days. I love the chocolate fetish and their sundaes and specials are always tasty. They have seasonal flavors you should try as well. Can't wait for the pumpkin to be back in the fall. After you get your ice cream, sit by the train tracks and watch the planes and trains. Such a fun spot!

This is my new go-to for ice cream in Chamblee/Brookhaven! I love that it's a small business, and the owner is also the one taking orders. The workers here are all really friendly. This a major step up from Brusters. This place has all of the classic ice cream shop flavors, and it’s in such a cute spot (the train caboose). Awesome place to bring kids. The mint chip was good, but the cookie dough was lacking a lot of flavor. The waffle cones are no where near as fresh as Jeni’s. This is a great place if you want to stick close to home, otherwise I recommend jenis.

Excellent value. Large portions - one sundae was plenty for two adults. The banana pudding ice cream tasted like real bananas! They don't seem to offer any dark chocolate flavors, which disappointed me. The salted caramel was a bit too cloying for me. I'd certainly go back.

I went there on a Sunday. I ordered butter pecan ice cream with a brownie. The brownie was a small circular shape that was nearly as hard as a rock. The butter pecan ice cream is one of the best that I've ever devoured. The price was $3.75, which would have been great if the brownie could have been edible. I liked the look of the company being a train with spice added to it. It seems this is the spot for locals to attend for some good, I'm guessing homemade ice cream. Will definitely be stopping by when in town.

Cute little shop for sweet treats for the kiddos. Can be a little pricey but if your little one is under three feet then they get a free mini cone or cup. Great quality product. The chocolate chip cookie dough is AWESOME!

What's not to like about this place! At the end of a long day you deserve a sweet treat and the Frosty Caboose is the place that can fill that need. The ice cream is delicious and locally made and they have a large variety of options. If you want a great banana split they have one that is worth the money and if you have never been there use the scoutMob app and you will get half off of your first treat.

Awesome ice cream! Great selection of flavors, and it really is in a caboose. If you are lucky, you will actually see a train go by. Or at least, a Marta train... If you haven't tried this place, I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Seriously a great place. Their ice cream is homemade and flavors change based on the season. My daughter loves their green tea and my son always gets superman...except in the winter when he gets egg nog lol. Its a coverted train car and the kids have fun playing on and around it, plus it's right next to train tracks so you can sit and eat with trains going by. Fun all around!

The ice cream was great and once we ordered, service was quick. The cashier had a disagreement with a woman ahead of our group and we were left feeling awkward and nearly left. Once it was resolved it was uncomfortable as the cashier began complaining to us about the customer. Very odd and off-putting. She didn't seem to want to take our order and began to cry. I know food service is difficult, but really? Please train your folks better or hire some more mature staff. If you can get this issue fixed, I will come back and give you the missing star! Very cute location too!

We go to Frosty Caboose after every summer swim meet and have made so many great memories there! They have very high quality ice cream from a local Creamery and the surroundings are such an experience. You can sit on the caboose or hang out next to real train tracks. Very friendly staff as well!

Fantastic little place. Very sweet owner and staff. We saw a couple of trains. Even saw 2 diesels take off and received a gift from one of the NS engineers. You can see several tracks from there including Marta. This is the real reason we went. We are train fanatics. When we heard they serve ice cream out of a caboose we were like 😳😳😁😁🍨🍦🍧 The ice cream was great and the scoopes were big. Flavors were fantastic. Was a nice surprise that the gummy bears didnt even freeze as if they were specially bought to top ice cream. All in all a great little wvening out for a train lover or a nice date as well.

We have two boys and they just LOVE the "let's eat ice cream and watch trains go by" concept offered here. This ice cream stand has train tracks, Marta line, and rail switches behind it - plus PDK airport is just a mile south - always something going on for little ones to see! Ice cream shop, literally in a caboose. Very cute, and has great ice cream. A bit on the pricey side, but you do get a lot of ice cream per serving. There's plenty of parking but very little seating. No indoor seating at all! So keep that in mind. It's right next to the railroad and MARTA tracks, which totally goes with the theme.

My husband and I were craving some locally made ice cream without having to drive to Decatur or Inman park. Scoutmob led us to the frosty caboose and it was a pleasant surprise. I enjoy the lack of pomp and circumstance around this place. It's straight forward, delicious ice cream. I wish they had some seating but that's my only complaint.

This is a neat little walk up Sunday shop. It is an old caboose with "ice cream" for a roof. The genuine railroad tracks directly behind lend a little railroady authenticity. There a railroad crossing light at the entrance. I had a plain strwberry Sunday that was just plain but that's the way I like it. My wife had the "Crack in the Tracks" Sunday that had a lot of different ingredients and she thought it was great. It's neat little out of the way desert stop.

For the train lover this is a very cool free standing caboose where you can walk up and order ice cream and other cold treats at the window. Walk up only - no drive thru. It is handicap accessible but one drawback is the lack of outdoor seating. Fun to watch real trains and the Marta trains come by. Watch kids by the train tracks.

I love the Frosty Caboose. It's an old red train caboose, right near the railroad tracks in Chamblee. Rhe ice cream is great, I believe most of it comes frim Greenwood.
