You'll want to read this: I waited 15 months to write this review so that I would have an accurate account of my experience with Unique, and the function of my new system across all seasons. It can be a challenge to find tradespeople that deliver in terms of craftsmanship and customer service. It can be even harder to find a company that truly honors their work long after they've cashed your hard earned check. After collecting bids and proposals from seven HVAC companies, Unique was the ONLY one to actually do load calculation and use math to determine what kind of furnace I needed, and what duct modifications would be best for making troublesome rooms in my house more comfortable. This is important because every single house is different, especially older ones. Fact of the matter is that sometimes the plan can change once an installation is underway, or the outcome might not deliver exactly what was expected. In the 18 months following the installation of my high efficiency furnace and AC, Unique's team went out of their way to deliver on and exceed my expectations. They always made me feel validated, and even made some adjustments long after the installation just to make sure that things were correct and to my satisfaction. The end result is that my home is now incredibly comfortable year-round, and even when it was 10° outside over this last weekend, that troublesome room was the same temp as the rest of my house. Not only this, but by going with the system that was calculated best for my home, my energy usage has gone down dramatically. All in all I am pleased with Unique, and I am a customer for life. As a Realtor my clients depend on me for contractor recommendations; from now on Unique will be at the top of my list for HVAC.

Similar to finding a trustworthy auto mechanic, Unique has proved to be my go-to HVAC company. Dennis was knowledgeable and professional in helping fine-tune our boiler. Pricing is always fair, and loved the transparency each time I've called them over the last few years. They do business the correct way and gained a lifelong customer. Highly recommend!

I had a new high velocity system installed a few days ago by Unique in our ~1875 Philly townhome. Previously had radiators so no duct work, making this an attractive option ("ducts run through walls!" etc) Unique was definitely not the cheapest option, but they were responsive and professional. They have done this before. The install team (Trong and Tan and Brian) were fantastic--very careful, friendly, did very neat work and courteous. As an advanced DIY-er myself, I worked alongside them on some days removing my old system and they provided some useful tips and tricks, which was very appreciated. The only negative was the sales experience--the sales staff didn't seem as familiar with the way the install team thought or worked. I was told ducts would go through my home in a different way than they ended up, which caught me off guard. I also felt like the sales guy didn't do his best to explore all options available on the outdoor condenser--I have a narrow alley and a 36"x36"x36" box in it now, which isn't ideal. Was hoping for something more slim (like a minisplit condenser), but I also acknowledge people have their favorite solutions. Trong helped find a better location for the condenser, so I again appreciated his expertise and intervention. I'd work with Unique again, just would suggest that more time is spent during the sales process/pre-install walk through aligning on all options, plans and concerns.

(Edit 6 days after first 1-star review: The next day a Sr Manager came out to troubleshoot our A/C system, after many hours of work he determined our old condenser was in fact fine, and that the Coil was likely installed incorrectly causing a multitude of issues. They ended up giving us a condenser for free and replacing the Coil just to be safe. Our thermostat and wiring is still however not working properly, but it is able to operate the A/C, so we finally have a cool house. But we still need to have additional visits. They're really trying but this has been quite a long road to meet 10 folks from UIC over 5 months now. Because they eventually tried to make this right I am moving this up from 1 to 3 stars. Hopefully our heat works next winter and I'm not back on this good review again.) Original post: In February of 2022 we were having some issues with our 12 year old forced air gas furnace. After looking into some options we decided to go with both a furnace replacement and our A/C coil unit that sits on top of the furnace. Our A/C was working great, but we didn't want the coil to break within the next few years as it's attached to the furnace. After this installation, our heat worked well immediately, but the A/C coil and system never was installed to be operational. We had technicians come 4 times, tying to hook up the existing Condenser unit with our new A/C coil. We weren't really given an answer to what was wrong, by spring our A/C was still not working. We finally were told our outdoor condenser unit had a bad compressor, and the cost to repair this was almost as much as the condenser itself, even though the condenser was only 6 years old. We mostly worked with Curt, who did not offer much explanation as to how we went from a working system in 2021 to a broken one in 2022 after purchasing the new coil. Our new compressor system arrived and was installed by two very nice HVAC employees, but unfortunately we were also told that this brand new coil had a bad compressor, and the team would need to come back to work on the A/C for a 6th time. I wish we had never allowed this company to touch our working A/C system. We've had to deal with hot weather for all of June, and are paying a lot of money to do so. The high cost of these replacements combined with the weeks of broken A/C, lack of explanations, all combine to mean I would never recommend this business. Leaving this review at 1 star until the A/C is working again. -Matt

We are thrilled with our new high velocity air conditioning. We have a 1920's house with oil heat through radiators - no duct work - and had several estimates for installing air conditioning. We received 4 estimates - one company wanted to put ductless mini splits in all first floor rooms and then the standard metal ductwork in the attic to feed into the second floor through vents in the ceiling (this estimate was more than Unique's estimate); two other companies wanted to add metal ductwork to our basement to feed the first floor through vents in the floor (which worried me with furniture placement in the future) and then a separate unit from the attic to the second floor through the ceilings (these estimates were less than Unique's estimate). However, Unique was the only company that had a plan that didn't include two units (taking up space in our house and yard), ugly mini splits, or metal duct work in the basement (which would have really been a problem for head room in the basement). The tubes took a lot less closet space to run from the attic to the first floor than I expected! We were very delightfully surprised that only 4 closets were affected - and again, it is an amount of space that really is small. Four tubes were run through my daughter's closet (closet picture attached) to feed two into our kitchen and two into our dining room. The nozzles into the ceilings are inconspicuous (dining room picture attached). The crew that installed the unit were very clean and respectful. I think they left my house cleaner than they found it! lol

Dave V and Mike V saved us from the summer heat!!! They finished the install a few days ago and life could not be better. The entire process was smooth and everything was delivered as promised. Dante came out for an in-home walkthrough and sent us pricing the following day. Once we decided to use their services, he cam back to go over everything one more time. On the installation side, Mike and Dave were on time, clean, and they did a great job. They left our home tidy and clean at the end of each shift which goes a long way. Once the install was finished, they went over the operation and maintenance of the system. Overall, I would recommend Unique Indoor Comfort Heating and Cooling to everyone.

This is the second unit Unique has installed for me and once again they did an exceptionally great job. The senior installation technician, Spencer, was careful to understand my concerns about how the connections looked from the outside, and installed them in such a way that the lines blended in with my historic house and were practically invisible. He was great to work with. Everyone was experienced, professional, and conscientious about small things - being sure I could get my car in and out while they were working, being sure to keep gates closed so our dog wouldn’t run off- and explaining what they were doing as the installation progressed. They could not have been better, more careful, or more courteous. And the installation itself - not an easy task in this 100 year old house - was flawless. Wooden trim pieces indoors were replaced so perfectly you cannot see where they were removed; an old copper downspout outdoors was temporarily moved and then returned perfectly. And everything works. I just finished writing a note to the realtor who recommended Unique thanking her for steering me to you. You get an A+ for the second time in a row.

We had a single stage heat pump that was at end of life after 15 years. Unique installed a new Bosch variable heat pump that is virtually silent! (No more noise outside and the fan inside is inaudible.) And, the variable was about the same price as another single stage heat pump from our old HVAC company. Plus, we'll save money on electricity for years to come. Highly recommended!

The person came out for an estimate and air evaluation quickly, and provided an estimate within a few days. He even recommended that I get a smaller unit based upon his evaluation! The unit was installed less than a month later and it only took one day. The team worked past 5 pm to make sure everything was working properly and so that I could learn how to use the new system. Everyone was clean and professional. They even came back to install a vent cover for free that another contractor had thrown away during a project. We love our quiet, efficient unit and are so pleased that we used Unique!

Mr. Mariano Flores-Serrato and Mr. Israel did an excellent job of installing our new AC system. Each morning, the gentlemen arrived on-time. They were respectful of our home, my elderly mother, our curious neighbors and myself. On day 2 additional service persons arrived to assisted with the installation. Then on Day 3 Israel kindly warned us before briefly turning off the electricity. Finally, Mariano clearly explained how to operate the new system. We had Unique install a new high velocity AC system in our home. Their quote as a little higher price than others we received, but we felt confident in Unique’s experience with these systems and familiarity in our neighborhood. Unique had great communication throughout the entire process. I was thoroughly impressed how professional every experience was. Spencer and Henry cleaned up meticulously each day, came on time, we’re extremely courteous, and were completely flexible to wear masks in our home. Our new system works great and we’re very happy with the install. For such a big investment, attention to detail and communication matters. Unique was outstanding. Only hiccup we had was if you anticipate financing any of your install, be proactive about that at your consultation. I was under the impression something like that would be addressed later, and it wasn’t until I asked my sales rep Paul. Their financing is done through a third-party, even though it’s advertised on the website. PS they even gave us window units to use between our contract signing and install date. A great touch we appreciated having moved in the middle of summer.

We had a technician come over for a maintenance of our system. Xavier came on time, put his booties right away and wore a mask - all of this is so appreciated!!! He was very professional, respectful of our home and also explained clearly what he was doing and why. We learned what to do to keep our system running as best as possible. After all the maintenance was done, Xavier even fixed our tilted outdoor unit and now it is all leveled. We shopped around and went with Unique because they are locally owned and operated. They will be sending a tech out in a week or so to fine tune the system. After some bad experiences with my previous furnace maintenance company, I decided to give Unique Indoor Comfort a try and I've been very happy with that decision so far. After some initial service, I called them about adding a second zone to the second floor of our house because our entire home was on a single zone. Mike Pagnottelli stopped over and after reviewing our situation recommended we go with a heat pump instead. It's not something I had considered but after he explained everything and I researched it a bit, I thought it was the best fit for our needs since it provides heating in the winter and cooling in the summer and we don't have central A/C. Even before the installation techs (Darren and Julian) left, I could see a huge difference in our second floor comfort level, and I know when it comes time to pay my electricity bill I won't be concerned because the efficiency and quality of the unit they installed is top notch. Mike, Darren, and Julian were all very professional, on time, kept my house clean, and very responsive, and treated my wife and I with respect. I would highly recommend UIC!

They really take the time to make sure the system is healthy, and if not explain really clearly and simply wear their issues, and with the solution is. My particular visit had a concerning reading and an advanced tech will be coming out to check it out. And all of this is covered under my annual membership which has paid for itself three times over in 2022.

My HVAC system in my home was 26+ years old and needed replacement. Spencer and Henry did the install, arrived on time and finished by 3:30. They were professional and cleaned up everything nicely. Heat is back on and the system seems to be working perfectly. Time will tell if the Daikin solution will perform as advertised and last as long as the Carrier product.

The salesman was gung ho and very reliable in the beginning. When the installation wasn't complete and I had some issues he disappeared. He didn't respond to a couple texts. Several days went by and I contacted him again to no avail. About an hour later a woman from the office contacted me and then she set up completion for the job. At least he could have acknowledged it and could have said, R.......will take care of you from here on out. I don't handle unreliable people too well. I have none in my life actually! I live in a second floor condo. The installer was sloppy and left trash ( caulk and insulation)on the patio of my neighbor below, She was not too happy. I mean come on that's contractor 101 . You clean up when you're done. He also forgot to put sealant on a few PVC Joints for the drainage pump. It has a small leak. In addition he said it was too dangerous to finish the caulk job for the outside grill. I will leave the installer and the salesman nameless. The only person I will name is Bruce who is a supervisor who came to complete the job yesterday, which was September 1st 2022. The original installation was August 19th 2022. He was a nice guy and did a good job. He didn't even want me to hold the ladder for him. Wasn't too dangerous for him! He shouldn't have to come back to finish unfinished work. He sealed the two PVC joints that the original installer forgot to do. And then caulked the outside grill and cemented the area that was Disturbed when the the old condenser was removed. Honestly I'm surprised they get a 4.9 rating. I either have bad luck or people were hesitant to tell the total whole truth! I'm hoping the rest of the installation was done properly so I don't have issues down the road. I know a gentleman who owns a HVAC company and he told me many years ago, the installation is MORE important than the equipment. He would have been my absolute first choice. Unfortunately he did not finance and I needed that. And finally I would say I wouldn't recommend them based on my experience. They need to be more reliable , responsive and have more pride in their work. A few more minutes of concentration and focusing on the job Will Save hours of time and the aggravation of the client being inconvenienced. Without Bruce I would have given this a Two-star rating.

While I was very pleased that Unique's technician spent time to diagnose my heating problem in our master bedroom, the conclusion was that due to a previous owner's removal of ductwork, it would not be cost effective to proceed. I was greatly appreciative of the technician's honesty and how well he explained the issues involved. He greeted me warmly and he was very conscientious about keeping things clean as he put on his shoe protection each time he stepped into my mother's house. He took the time to help me learn, as a senior person, how to be able to change the filters on the system. He labeled my unit for me to indicate the proper way to put the filter in. We had a non-emergency need for a new HVAC system so plenty of time to request proposals from various companies. The total number of proposals we received was seven. Of the seven, only Unique's Mike Pagnottelli and one other actually evaluated the needs of our home -- taking into consideration square footage, windows, insulation, current ductwork, etc. I had many, many questions over several weeks' time before finally deciding on Unique and a Daikin system. Mike Pagnottelli made all the difference. He was knowledgeable and straightforward throughout the process and incredibly responsive. Due to issues particular to our home, weeks past the purchase and installation (everything is working great!), I had a few additional questions. Mike continues to be responsive and helpful!

The sales representative, Reni Goldberg, could not have been more helpful in answering all of my many questions before, during, and after instalation. Where he did not feel qualified to answer a few questions, he got me to the person who could. He did not pressure me in his presentation and I believe he truely wanted me to have the right system for the space and kind of home I have. He reviewed my home carefully before making suggestions and then gave me several options explaining the pros and cons of each. I took a period of a week or so to make a decision. I chose the Daikin Two Stage gas furnace and the accompanied air and condenser system. Although my neighbor, who also went with Unique, believed the two stage furnace would be a waste of money in an older home such as ours and would not give the 95% efficiency expected, I have found that the two stage system gives clearly consistantly comfortable heating and cooling and that even the second floor, which has always been harder to heat or cool comfortably, is now much improved. My bills are a little lower which says to me there is at least somewhat greater efficiency. I was also very pleased with the service man who came to do a maintenance call on my heating system. He was very pleasant, told me what he was doing, and answered my questions. This call was included in the maintenance package I also purchased. I continue to periodically talk to Reni and would not hesitate to call him if I should have a question. I know he will be glad to help me if I should need it. I've waited a couple of months to write this review as I wanted to see how our new HVAC system from Unique performed over time. In August our old 20 year old AC died during a heat wave. This was after our even older furnace had several issues in the spring. I called several HVAC companies in a panic and many did not respond to me or sent out a salesperson who seemed less interested in hearing what I wanted and more focused on upselling me on as an expensive of a traditional furnace and AC system as they could. However, Reni Goldberg from Unique was very different and provided me with several different cooling/heating options at different pricepoints. We ended up installing a Daikin heat pump with heat strip/air purifier, with some ductwork and additional vents/returns put in. The air quality and increased comfort level in the home was immediately noticeable. The house is no longer humid on damp days, there is no 5-10 degree temperature differential between the bottom floor and top floor, and I love having an all electric system with no combustion furnace. I believe that has also helped relieve our family's allergy/asthma symptoms. Some other HVAC companies tried to dissuade me from going with a heat pump stating that it would not effectively heat homes in our region of the country (southeastern PA), but I have not found that to be an issue at all despite temperatures below freezing - my electric bill is still much lower than what I used to pay for heating oil. All in all, very satisfied with my experience with Unique and particularly Reni Goldberg - he is very knowledgeable, responsive, and he listens to his customer's needs.

I went with Unique Indoor Comfort when converting from oil to gas heat. They installed a gas furnace and switched our water heater from electric to gas. We also had them replace the AC since it was about 20 years old. They offered high-quality (Trane) equipment at a competitive price, with a reasonable installation time. They worked with me as I coordinated with the gas company to have a line installed. The installation was done professionally and they left little mess behind. They also checked with me to confirm that exhaust pipe placement would be OK. Impressively, they were very helpful afterwards with sending invoices that I needed to apply for rebates with the gas company, including modifying them to add some required information. Definitely got good service from start to finish. The heating system had a minor issue when it first started up but they sent someone out who was able to fix the problem and it's worked fine since. We haven't had to use the AC yet but there's no reason to think it won't also work. Hot water has been just as good as with the electric tank, and hopefully saving us a little money. I would recommend them for heating and cooling needs. Updating about a year later - there were two or three problems with the heating/AC system since it was installed, which was a little concerning since it was a higher-end brand. But I got a two-year service plan when the system was installed and Unique did not give me any problems with coming out to diagnose the problems, including sending a manager the second time to do a more in-depth review. The problem might have been a faulty motherboard, which they replaced, and so far it's working fine again, so hopefully that fixed it. But I was happy that they honored the service agreement and did everything they could to make things right. Update Fall 2022 - Because I felt like I had gotten good service, I renewed my maintenance plan. Just had my furnace maintenance done and again the technician (Sam Dupin) was professional and friendly, and did a great job. He explained what maintenance he did and how the furnace was functioning. He wore shoe coverings in the house and cleaned up when he was done. Still very happy with the overall service I receive from Unique Indoor Comfort.

This is a well run company -- every contact with them has been professional and they communicate very well. We needed a ductless system installed -- the sales rep, Curt, was very well versed in the details of the system design and answered lots of questions. The sales proposal was well thought out, very much fit what we needed, and competitive price-wise. I had gotten quotes from half a dozen mini-split installers and this was the best proposal. They install Mitsubishi which is the highest quality equipment in the industry. Install crew (Spencer) was on time, communicated very well, very clean (they used special boot-slippers to avoid tracking dirt into the house). The interior and exterior installations look really good and were exactly what we expected. Install was done in less than two days and the installers were nice people, very nice to deal with. When the install was done, Spencer showed us how the system works and how to use the remote.

My 100-year old house has central air on the 1st and 2nd, but the 3rd floor (where my home office is) relies on window units. With climate change, the past few summers have seen consecutive weeks of 90F+ and since I now commute by Zoom, I had been getting complaints about the background noise of my straining 8K BTU Frigidaire. I got three estimates, and though not the lowest, Unique was the ONLY provider who had figured a way to use a single condenser with two handlers snaking the tubes and wiring through the labyrinths of my oddly shaped attic, dormers, etc. I was sold at that point. It took about a month for the installers to get here (mid-August busy season.) Val and Trey were young, but very experienced, and EXTREMELY professional. Both wore masks when we could not practice social distancing. They were extremely polite and respectful of the property as well as our time. When there were options, they presented them to us, never steering us toward what was easier for them. They did offer guidance when their opinion was asked, and it was always good advice. Again, no pressure to cut corners ever, even when aesthetic reasons were chosen over practicality. They came in EXACTLY as estimated both in time and in cost. ZERO surprises except how flawlessly it went. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

I learned about this company from my general contractor, Jay at Action Builders, in Philadelphia after buying a row-house in January where the top floor was ten degrees warmer than the ground floor (single zone system) in the summer. I reached out to Unique and their front office set promptly up an appointment with Curt, the sales person, who did the initial assessment/sizing and quickly emailed a professional quote to us. Although the cost was a bit higher than I expected, Curt explained that the job entailed a full two days, roof work to build a platform and locate the outdoor condenser and interior work high up in a vaulted ceiling. I paid the deposit by credit card. One day prior to installation, I received an email from Mike explaining the process and requiring a few questions to be answered. On installation date, Alex and Mariano arrived and completed the system in less than two days. Alex, the lead installer, walked me through the entire configuration including a review of the roof work. All work was performed in a courteous and professional manner. Drop cloths and rugs were used to protect the floor and there was zero damage to our home for a job that required equipment to be lugged up narrow steps to the third floor of our row-house. Overall my experience with these guys was great from front-office, through sales and installation. The Mitsubushi MSY-GL15NA-U1 unit is performing flawlessly and keeps the temperature at a cool 72 degrees even when it's 90 degrees outside. Unique even completed the registration for the unit so it's under warranty. Five stars for the Unique Team!

Had Unique replace my entire system, and redo all the ducting in my basement to move the machine 10 feet over so I could refinish my basement. The new ducting work was quite literally an engineering work of art! I had a lot of requests to make the new ducts take up less headroom and stay out fo the way of the main room to allow me a full sized main area and the guys went above and beyond to figure out a solution that not only increased my airflow but took my space considerations into account. They even coordinated a crane to lift off the fan unit off my center city roof (45 feet), all while dancing around my roofers who had to replace the roof because once we lifted up the old machine we realized that needed to be done at the same time. The whole thing was a ballet of moving parts, and all done with face masks and social distancing in the middle of a Pandemic! My hats off and thanks to Unique for doing an A++ job. While there pricing might be a little higher then some operators out there, I always feel I get incredible value every time I have used them for service, and now for installation! Thanks Unique. Of course my central HVAC system needed repair during a heat wave! AND it broke down on a Sunday. I called that day and scheduled the repair service. The appointment setter was professional and helpful. Unfortunately, they couldn't come out until Wed afternoon, they told me to turn the cooling off but advised to turn the central fan on. I'm glad they did because it really made a difference to have the air circulating rather than remain stagnant. I called early Wed afternoon to get an idea of when someone would come by. Sometime after 5pm. Ok, good to know that the appointment wasn't going to be cancelled. It was in the 90s and the next day was expected to be even hotter. At about 6pm I got a text that Joe was on his way. It was before 7 when he arrived with a friendly greeting. Plus, I had a bottle of water ready for him. About an hour or so later, the problem was diagnosed and repaired, and I was happy to have my AC back! Joe kept me informed about what tests he was performing to determine what was wrong. Before he left, Joe told me what to look out for and to call if I had any issues. I really appreciated his patience, communication, and honesty. Definitely recommend Joe at Unique Indoor Comfort.

This is easy to write. I've been contracting services for a few decades now and I have to say that this is the best experience I have had with a builder, roofer, plumber, window installer or HVAC crew. Unique installed 5 systems for me. The experience was great from the start. Matt L was completely patient with my questions and concerns. Gave me plenty of time to consider the contract and so on. I even had the plans reviewed by a long time, trusted HVAC expert out of the area. Unique addressed everything. After the signing, the process that Unique used was clear and deliberate. I was informed by voice AND letter how the installation would proceed. We met at the location and prioritized which units would be done first and Unique schedule several installations when tenants were out of town. Crane operators showed up on Day one and lifted 3 units on the roof very skillfully. and they were off and running. One tenant who is a trained architect and very experienced builder remarked that even though Dominic and Joie were in the same room with him installing an air handler, he barely heard them. They were great! It was like having elves and fairies come in the middle of the night and do everything. At the end of the project, keys and paperwork were waiting for me. All buttoned up. Very professional from Joy on the phone to Chris and Brian supporting and scheduling and Dom and Joie doing the hard work. Pricing was very fair. Performance was spectacular. After requesting an estimate for air conditioning, Curt K. visited our home and did an extensive inspection of our living space. This was at a time when it was difficult to even get estimates due to so many people wanting renovations on their homes so the fact that Curt took his time and provided us with four different estimates was very impressive! After deciding on a mini split system, we were contacted by Mike F. and then Chris W. to plan for the most convenient time to do the install. Mike and Chris answered all of our questions ahead of time. When the day for the install came, Mike V. and Dave V. arrived on time and got right to work. They did an excellent job, which was no easy task considering one of the days we experienced some of the heaviest rain and winds of the year. Mike and Dave made sure to do everything to avoid bringing any water or mud in to our home and also cleaned up everything to perfection during and after the install. They answered all of my questions (I tend to ask A LOT) about how the system works, what to do to maintain it for best longevity, and what steps to take if any situations arise. I have geothermal heating and cooling so cannot use just anyone for maintenance and repairs. I've been using Unique Indoor Comfort for the past 2 years for maintenance and have always been pleased, but this week they came through big-time. My heat stopped working on Monday morning. I called them and they arranged for a technician to come that afternoon. He was able to diagnose the problem which was a "fried" circuit board. Unfortunately it was something that had to be ordered from the manufacturer. They offered the option of expediting delivery which I accepted. They kept me up to date on progress of delivery and when the part arrived on Friday morning (12/2, Christmas Eve), they called and arranged for a technician to come that afternoon! At every step of the way every person I spoke to and interacted with was pleasant, helpful, knowledgeable and kind. Both technicians showed me the circuit board so I could see for myself what the problem was. And I now have heat again for the holidays!

He was very detailed and up front. I called several companies prior to this one and his load assessment was by far the most detailed. Getting the project scheduled was easy. They aren't the cheapest company that we talked to for installation, but they are very knowledgeable and they were able to install the units with minimal disruption to our house, which is almost 100 years old. We haven't needed any repairs, but have a service plan that includes bi-annual maintenance. The service people are always prompt, friendly and professional. We are having them install additional ductless systems later this year.

This is nothing short of a big investment and as such, I have gotten several quotes and have done a lot or research both on company satisfaction and also on understanding what I need. I’ve learned my needs are sales, service warranty. I value the overall cost, what kind of service I can expect after the install and finally the warranty of the unit. In my process of learning and getting estimates I called Unique Indoor Comfort. Mike P. came out and after some friendly introduction and listening to my needs immediately started walking through the house taking measurements and learning the layout of my system. He was patient, answered all of my questions and most importantly seems very honest. Additionally, Mike was an installer before he got into sales. This was really nice to know and actually very important because he truly knew what I needed and is familiar with the process vs a salesman that doesn’t have experience in the install field. I will tell you from already having several quotes that there is a big knowledge difference between a salesman and the guys that really know what’s involved work wise. I have not finalized my decision as of this review but I will say Unique Indoor Comfort has made my very picky list of candidates. I will update this review if I choose to use their service. Unique stepped in after another company tried to “foo l” me due to being a woman. We had originally called for a quote on a new unit. Scott came out, took one look and advised we still have a few years and the other company was incorrect and tried to take advantage. He recommended that the service techs come out and look over the unit. The first tech Joe came out and confirmed Scott’s theory that the unit was in good shape and just needed a maintenance but that there was no need for mechanical parts to be replaced or the entire unit. We set up a maintenance, Sean came out and did a fantastic job, was early, quick and efficient. All three gentlemen were professional, explained everything and did not in any way try to sell us anything. Also Kyle in the office whom I spoke with after my first meeting with Scott was great too! My experience with Unique Indoor Comfort and Heating must be acknowledged. It was great, to say the least! My Gas Boiler and Gas Hot Water heater were attached to an original old undersized chimney. The technician, Colin B. discovered this issue and guided me through every step on why I needed a new game plan. Colin - BIG Shout out to you. You are a RockStar. I met with Mike Pagnottelli of the Sales Team to go over my options. Of course, I was “hoping for the best, but expecting the worst”. Mike broke down every aspect of what I was looking for and gave me some lessons on heating. He swiftly put an action plan into place and the next thing I know, I had an appointment the next day to replace my entire system. Scary and not fun to write a check at holiday time. Mike really took the time to calm me down and let me know I had nothing to worry about. I met with Dom and Arlind on a Wednesday. They came out on the EXACT time the appointment was set for. They neatly prepared the house for equipment to be moved in and out. Drop cloths were laid on my floors and other various protection precautions. I don’t know if I have ever had a greater experience with two contractors than with Dom and Arlind. They spent three days at my home and were just the absolute BEST! They even took care of my dog while I had to run out (and my dog was not good while I was gone). Recently needed to upgrade the AC unit in my townhouse as the builder grade model install originally was failing. After speaking with multiple companies, a friend recommended giving Mike P a call. Mike was immediately available to come on site and review the current system. Having been a technician prior to his current sales role, Mike was able to display a level of expertise that I had not received with other companies. He quickly diagnosed an issue with the original duct work that had caused issues trying to cool the 2nd floor of the home. He also paid attention to small details that were missed initially such as running a drainage pipe away from the home, and ensuring that the electrical connections were properly insulated. After receiving a very reasonable quote, we scheduled the install. The company has a standing Covid-19 protocol which was sent to me prior to the install as well as a questionnaire to gain knowledge of the small details needed to make the install seamless. The Install team lead by Dam D was on the site earlier than expected and finished up the work by mid afternoon. They were courteous and professional. Three days after the install we discovered that the AC was not cooling the house. One phone call to Mike P at 9 am resulted in a technician dispatch and the issue was resolved by noon. Understanding that things do not always go as planned, I appreciated the speed at which Unique took care of my needs and remedied the situation. If you are looking for a service provider, have issues with cooling certain aspects of your home, or need a new unit, I would highly recommend giving MIke P and Unique Comfort a call.

My boiler went on Xmas Eve :-( I spent the following week taking bids, and Unique came in around everyone else, maybe a couple hundred more. The difference : due to this company's promoting from within, I had a salesman name Mike who knew his stuff beyond all of the others. He explained to me exactly what everything was, and why it cost what it did, etc. He was very confident in his offer, and was ok with me not taking it. He was also just plain likeable, easy going, and not reciting a script. The saying goes, you buy from people you like.... My installers were Mariano and Spencer, both professional, communicative, and nice. They only forgot one thing : to lay down tarps over my newly-painted basement floor. Unfortunately it got very dirty. I mentioned it to Unique when they texted me to leave a review, and they had someone out within a couple days to clean and repaint the floor where needed. Above and beyond! The only criticism I have, is that their accounting dept never returned and email from me re. my check clearing. Other than that, very pleased with Unique.

We decided this was the year we would get central AC put into our 1950s house with no ducts. We shopped around and looked at several options but ultimately went with Unique's proposal and system (installed April 2021) and we are so happy we did. We were at first skeptical of a larger company and wanted someone more local, but we loved Unique's guarantee and their responsiveness and attention to what would cool our home. Mike, the sales rep, is serious about what he does and was so responsive through all 17,000 questions we had throughout the shopping process. He answered each one and followed up -- yes, he's a sales rep who has a product to sell, but we never felt that way. Ultimately, Mike ran load calculations and worked with us as we shifted from wanting a high-velocity system to a traditional ducted system for the second floor and a ductless split for the first floor (space is limited and we were worried about ducts in closets, etc.). The install team was prompt and did the job in three days. Bruce and his team were professional and open to questions and so respectful of our space. The install was clean and done by-the-book, nothing sloppy or rushed. Bruce took an hour to walk me through everything and explain what was there, how to maintain it, and how to best use it. As an aside, my kids (6 and 3) loved the work being done and when we ran into Bruce on a job in the neighborhood a few weeks later, we even stopped the car to chat to say hi. Now, it's May and we've used the system off and on for a few weeks. It cools our house perfectly and is so quiet. Working with unique was great. Since we've lived here, we've went lugged window units up and down from the attic every summer and fall. Now, we never having to worry about that again.

We have worked with Unique for several years for normal HVAC maintenance and have had nothing but good experiences. When our very old system finally needed to be replaced we decided to still get another opinion from another highly rated company before making such a big purchase for our home. Our experience with Unique couldn’t have been better or easier (especially after going through the process of a free second opinion from another company). Unique didn’t put us through a painful sales pitch, clearly explained all of our options and simply emailed us a proposal with pricing for each option. After meeting with the other company, we realized the pricing from Unique was Significantly lower (for the same products!) and we experienced none of the uncomfortable pressuring to decide on the spot that we received elsewhere. Mike Pagnottelli performed a thorough assessment of our home while still being mindful of our time, and was patient and helpful with us as we weighed our options. He even worked with us on a Saturday afternoon so we could get scheduled for installation quickly. Sam and his team were extremely friendly and respectful of our home during the whole installation process. We are very happy with the service Unique has provided us and are thrilled with our new system (we ultimately purchased a Daikin furnace, coil and the Daikin DX17VS - 2.5 Ton - up to 17 SEER - Variable Speed condenser).

I'm entirely satisfied with our UIC experience, from the quote to the follow up to the install. Incredibly professional, prompt (if you get a few quotes you'll realize how rare that can be) and respectful of our home. We have an old Philly home that had 2 A/Cs retrofit with 1 air handler built into a wall and another hanging from the ceiling. The A/Cs were separate systems and controlled by separate thermostats. We had maybe 5 companies come through to give their perspective and a quote. Almost everyone else gave roughly the same basic quote to just drop in new base units. Mike P at UIC started by looking at our house - how much air could move through the vents, listened to what we were looking for, and presented a vision of a unified A/C system with one (I think typically used for ductless) Mitsubishi heatpump outside that would be elevated feeding into two air handlers. Tearing out the old systems and putting in the new system took 3 days. Sam and Val were incredibly prompt, knowledgeable, constantly asking if we had questions and explaining what was happening. They laid out drop cloths and dry vac'd each day to leave our house in good shape amidst the construction. They found a way to get the system into the weird nooks and cranies in our house, and about a week later everything's been great! I never thought of myself as someone who'd have an HVAC company, but I'd definitely start with them next time I have HVAC needs.

Dam is a true expert on these complex systems, and his installment is absolutely a work of art. Amazing. Very rarely do you work with a services company whose back office staff, sales teams, and technicians mimic the same level of professionalism. Unique is THAT company. I raved last year about the seamless installation (we didnt have to close any holes or clean up anything). This year our 1yr check in was even easier. Reuben called to confirm, arrived on time, wore protective gear (feet and shoes) in the house, thoroughly explained the maintenance process and where he might need me to show him around, arrived with all necessary equipment, performed thorough maintenance, shared his assessment and left. Easy breezy, pleasant and stress free. I almost wish I needed to work with them more often. Make sure you call early to get on their schedule.

We moved to a 3 story rowhouse in Philly this summer. Our bedroom and a new bath is on the top floor. It was terribly hot up there and the area for the new bath had no HVAC at all. The team came out and assessed the best way to heat and cool the area. They worked with me when I needed to reschedule due to changes in bathroom construction timelines and installed the two splits yesterday. The guys here worked hard for two days. They were efficient and clean and figured out how to get these things installed given the complexities of city living (including finding a way to get a 40 foot ladder to the rear of the house and drain the units through the brick exterior). We used the unit last night and it worked great. Kept us warm and was super quiet.

Excellent experience from start to finish. All service providers should follow Unique's business model of professionalism and customer service. A positive referral from our next door neighbors who were extremely impressed with their dual zone A/C install, prompted us to reach out via Unique's website request form. Scheduling a first meeting was easy and we had Mike Pagnottelli at our house within a week. Mike's positive demeanor was evident from the moment he stepped foot in our door. He listened to each of our concerns, asked questions that helped us consider exactly what we wanted in a new second A/C zone, and offered up his unbiased opinion based on years and years of experience. Adding a second A/C zone is not cheap so we, of course, brought multiple providers in for a quote but they were either priced too high, didn't listen to our needs, or simply didn't give us a good "vibe". Unique wasn't the cheapest, nor the most expensive, but we signed with them as we felt we were getting the best value for our dollar and knew that they would stand by the quality of their workmanship. Installation was easy to schedule and we even had someone come through a few weeks prior for a walkthrough of where all vents would be placed, etc., and to address any remaining concerns (again, this is what I consider a great customer focused business model). The installation crew was headed by Sam Jano. Sam's crew was the most professional and least intrusive we've had at our house since we moved in 2016. Sam listened and responded to each of our concerns and suggested a solution that worked well for us and for the overall system design. Sam and crew took the time every afternoon to clean the work areas so well that we couldn't tell they'd been in the house cutting through ceilings, etc. If you're reading this review and you're still unconvinced that Unique is the best HVAC company in the area, let me wrap things up by saying this: One of the greatest ways I can show my loyalty to a particular business is to hire them again. I have an existing A/C zone that is 20 years old and it's just a matter of time before it requires replacement. My FIRST AND ONLY call will be to Mike and team at Unique knowing full well that he'll take care of me and provide me with the best quote and installation experience possible. Unique team: Thanks for making my experience a truly memorable one and for providing me with the indoor comfort I've needed since I moved in years ago!!!

We had a wonderful experience with Unique that motivated me to write this 5 star review. Our AC finally conked out over a weekend. I had already been in contact with Unique in regards to replacing it, and they had the best & most thorough quote out of the 5 competing companies. I called my salesperson (Bob) on a Sunday morning and he had things moved around so they could install the central air on the next day. The install crew was courteous, friendly, and efficient. As I decided to also have them replace our ductwork, it turned out to be a 2 day job & the salesperson dropped off two window units so we would sleep comfortably that night. All around, an A+, 5 Star experience. UPDATE: They called me a year after installation to set up a free follow up on the system . I called them on Friday morning before Labor Day to make arrangements and they had a service guy out the SAME DAY at 4 PM as that was the time that worked best for me. Wow! If I could give them more than 6 stars, I would. Quality service is worth every penny.

Unique and Chris Wilson are problem solvers! I own a Philly row home that was originally built around 1900 and has had some additions in the '20s and the '50s. Like most old homes, we had no space to run a traditional AC system or even a high-velocity system. We got some quotes from other companies to install 3 Mini-splits and while the pricing was all similar, the selling point with Unique was Chris Wilson's ability to plan the plumbing and control wires through various crawl spaces so that we do not see them. We were able to do the 3 floor system without needed a water pump, which every other company told use was impossible. Having the system now for 6 months and using it for both AC and a little room-specific heating, we could not be happier. I have recommended Chris and Unique to my family and friends many times.

I chose Unique Indoor Comfort to replace very old oil heaters with new high efficiency gas furnaces in 2 houses (mine and a rental). They were absolutely above and beyond anything I could have expected. The sales person that came out (Chris) was extremely knowledgeable and the prices were reasonable. The installs were done over 3 days and the workman (Ricky and Brian) were extremely professional. These were fairly complicated install jobs, but they accomplished them so smoothly and professionally, you would never know. The new ducting was immaculate, the pipes were run perfectly, they taped everything, provided a tutorial on the unit, and left it perfectly clean. I've had a lot of contractors over the years and I could not think of a better company to recommend. I almost never bother with reviews, but these guys definitely deserve it. A 5 star company.

My experience with Unique Indoor Comfort was excellent. I have an old home that was built in the 1800s that was retrofitted with air conditioning. I cannot say enough great things about this company. My first contact was with Mike. He came out at 6:30 at night to get me an estimate. He was very friendly, professional and was able to get me a quote right on the spot. He even offered to drive back to my house later to pick up paperwork instead of me mailing it in. I even emailed him late at night/off business hours and he answered me within an hour. I scheduled with Rob, which was super easy and convenient and he worked with me to get scheduled as soon as possible, even in the busy summer months. The technicians that came to our house (Alex and Thuan) were excellent. They got the job done in the stated time frame and stayed late and came early to do so. They were professional and good at what they did. I changed my mind on some things mid project and they happily accommodated my wishes. After they finished installing they checked each individual unit with a thermometer to check if everything was working properly.They even cleaned up/vacuumed after themselves. Again I cannot say enough positive things about this company and I will be using Unique for all of my heating and cooling needs in the future.

Trong and Tan were fantastic. I was in the remodeling business for many years and have never seen an installation which was as well done as the one they did in our house. Their care and attention to detail was very impressive. There was not the slightest trace of mess or dust during and after the installation. Trong and Tan were friendly and respectful. Trong was very knowledgeable and clearly explained the work he would complete each day. He showed me how the equipment was installed, how he planned to place the ductwork, how to operate the thermostat and went over the emergency shutoff devices on the air handler. When a hard wired smoke detector was in the way of the return duct, he moved it, handling the wiring himself. I've never seen a neater job of cutting floors and ceiling for ductwork; No repair work needed. We trusted Trong and Tan so completely, we felt absolutely comfortable leaving them with a key, as we had to go on a three day trip. All in all, a great experience!

Edit 07-2022 one of the techs the 2nd I had them out broke a piece of the molding which sucked but what made me drop the stars was he didn't tell me and company did nothing to fix it. I did call them for service again and the guy that came out made an attempt to fix it but that was just on his own, not the company. I probably would call them again just because they are good at sending someone out. End point: my molding is still broken.

Unique just installed high-velocity AC in our 100-year-old home. It was a complex 8-day job and the whole process went smoothly. Dante, the sales rep, was really knowledgeable and spent a lot of time with us to answer all of our questions. Brandon, the system designer and site supervisor, was similarly attentive and explored many options for the system setup, which due to the nature of our house was complicated. He also always answered our calls immediately and listened to everything we had to say. Quy and Tan (and a guest appearance by a third person whose name we unfortunately didn't catch), the installers, were amazing. They were hardworking, meticulous, courteous and respectful of the rest of the home (and the fact that we were working from home). They kept us informed throughout the day of what was going on and were great with cleanup at the end of each day. Quy is an absolute master at what he does and Tan mentioned how happy he is to be learning from someone like him. Throughout the project everyone took their time to present options to us and we were never pressured to do was what was easiest or fastest. They always emphasized that we should feel comfortable and they would work with what we decided. We saw that in practice with how careful everyone was throughout, no matter the time that it took. The resulting system looks amazing and we have complete confidence that it will work beautifully for years to come.

A new furnace for an old house was a big investment and it really helped that everyone from Unique was friendly and a clear and transparent communicator. The process was very smooth from estimate to installation. Especially Trong Tan and his co-worker, who did the install itself, did beautiful work with attention to detail; they were also super nice people. Just had the job completed today, will update if the furnace itself has any problems but I doubt there will be any issues with the equipment.

Unique did an awesome job with my HVAC replacement. AC compressor blew up on a sat in our old unit in the middle of a heatwave. Mike was out on a Sunday to take all the measurements, size the equipment, and show us the replacement options! Sam and Matt did an amazing job with the install, it works awesome, install is super clean, you can tell they pay attention to every little detail. Best part is our 2nd floor which was always around 5 degrees hotter that the first floor is perfectly balanced now. When Mike came out he noticed our duct worked wasn't even sized correctly for the amount of air we needed to move, so that was fixed as part of the job. I contacted Unique Indoor Comfort, among others, to obtain a proposal for replacement of my furnace and air conditioning system. Unique took measurements off all the rooms (for sizing calculations), answered all my questions, and provided me with a written proposal with several system options ranging in cost. Some other contractors that had estimated this job had failed to either take measurements or provide a detailed written proposal. Although Unique did not have the cheapest proposal for this work, I felt most comfortable choosing Unique for the job because of their professional approach to the work, their ability to answer my questions, and their well-detailed proposal. The installation took one day. The contractors wore booties and put down cloths to keep my carpet clean when moving equipment. The installation went well, and I was satisfied with the quality of the work. The only issue I had was that the installation team forgot to install an upgraded piece of duct work. This duct piece only affected the efficiency of the system, not the operation, but it was included in the contract and touted by Unique as a benefit of their installation. After I noticed this and contacted Unique, they apologized and sent someone to install the upgrade within a few days. Overall, I am very satisfied with the system and the installation.

While it was difficult to find a company that was willing to do the cleaning/disinfecting (which seemed silly to me), Unique was ready and willing to get a service tech out next day. Unique Indoor Comfort replaced our water heater. Two installers came, both were very respectful and professional. They worked hard to remove our old water heater and also had to remove our radiant heating system that was blocking the water heater. They laid tarps down and wore booties over their shoes to protect our floors. Install was smooth and they left the boiler room immaculate. The water heater looks great, and they explained the valves and temperature adjuster. We decided not to reconnect the radiant heat, but all the tubes associated with it were sealed and neatly placed off the side if we ever decide to reconnect them in the future. They swept the boiler room floor and left it looking much nicer than it was before. We have been using Unique Indoor Comfort for years now and will continue to be call them for all our heating/cooling needs.

He was able to pinpoint the issues I was having obtaining heat and, in the process, providing a more important service. I recently (February) had a ductless AC system installed in my house which is over 100 years old. The installers from Unique showed up on time and finished the installation in two days, as scheduled. They took the necessary preparations to keep the areas they had to work in clean and cleared the work areas of debris when the job was completed. Ricardo, one of the installers was able to answer all questions I had about the system and how it worked. Once the installation was completed, the installers checked all units to make sure they were working. For now, I can say the installation went very smoothly. Since it's now still winter, I will have to wait until the summer weather arrives to give my complete assessment. August Update I'm very glad I had this system installed in my house. It does a wonderful job of cooling the house and is much quieter than window units. Also, I'm not seeing such a large spike in electric usage like I was with the window units.

Our service technician was prompt, clear in diagnosing the issue, and attempted to fix as quickly as possible. Admittedly, a small error was made, and the technician was injured on the site, but they made all reasonable efforts to fix the issue quickly before seeking medical care for themselves. Last Saturday we tried to start our hvac system for a first time since the Fall and we noticed that the outdoors condenser is not working. From the sales process to the installation... this was a 5 star experience. My house admittedly was a nightmare to install new ducts, heating and A/C but the guys at Unique did a fantastic job. When we did the walk through they came up with a through plan that minimized the damage to the house, explained every step of the process and helped visualize what they were going to do. Trong and Tan were also very thorough about keeping the house clean. If you have the opportunity to ask for Trong when you use Unique, I would highly recommend it. Again 5 stars.. My husband and I woke up last Saturday morning feeling defeated because our entire AC/Heat system took a turn for the worst and stopped working all together. I got in touch with Mike Pagnottelli because not only have I known him for well over two decades I know that he is a trustworthy sales consultant who has the knowledge and experience that we needed. Within a few hours he was at our house to check out the situation free of charge. He took the time to explain each new system option in detail and did not try to over sell us. The finance options were easy to understand and within minutes we were set up with an appointment for that following Tuesday (today). The installation technicians arrived on time and both wore protective face masks and shoe covers the entire time. Ricky and Estefano got right to work and were diligent and limited the volume of their work courteously. They also took the time to explain the new digital system and showed us how to access it through our phones. Just an FYI, I rarely write reviews unless I find true reason. This experience with Unique Indoor Comfort Heating and Cooling was beyond any expectation we could have had. I 100% recommend this company and can't thank Mike, Ricky and Estefano enough for everything.

Honestly I don't write these ever. But these guys are worth every penny. They went above and beyond to replace my old split closet unit. I had no idea there were old exposed wires and air leakage around the vents. They replaced all of it without question and installed addition safety measures (CO2 detector, new gas shut off valve, securing the unit properly to the wall). Mike the sales guy was very friendly and walked through a lot of information with me without trying to up-sale me at all. A few days after the install, my home wasn't cooling as normal. They came out the same day and again the next day to fix. George Montague is a life saver! Turns out it was an airflow issue and again they went above & beyond to fix/test until he had it working perfectly. Friendly, professional, on time service! Jacques was our technician for a follow up service call. He gave us a call to let us know he was on his way and arrived on the early side of the 30 minute window we had been given. Jacques had not been to our house previously, but had read the prior service reports and knew the issue was with a leak in the upstairs unit. John took a few minutes when he was finished to review what he had done, showed us videos of what he had found and where the leak had been, and to answer any questions. Jacques and the Unique team consistently provide friendly and professional service. Let them do it for you!

They kept it going as long as possible, and we got more than our money’s worth for the maintenance plan because something inevitably broke every year, and it was covered (and it got us a super fast appointment, even during busy times). When my AC unit died I needed to shop for a replacement unit and install. The staff at Unique Indoor Comfort were great from start to finish. They were prompt and professional and the new unit was installed and up and running quickly. A big issue I had previously was not getting enough air to my 3rd floor. Mike P suggested that as part of the install they could add dampers to my vents and I could then customize the air flow. This worked amazingly well and I was extremely pleased!
