I worked with Scott for the replacement of my heating/ac system for a new heat pump system this past summer. Scott was very responsive on the phone and came by in person several times to be sure I understood the details of the systems he was proposing. The system has been working well and so far I'm happy with the performance. There were some issues with a faulty thermostat and Scott was quick to come out and get it replaced. So far I've loved having a heat pump system on my house! Have barely used any natural gas so far this winter and the comfort of the home has been superb! I'm looking forward to years of reliable low carbon, low cost heating and cooling! Thanks for the great service! Chris

Our old furnace and A/C dying, and I knew it was time to look for replacements. After talking with a few different companies, I was impressed with what S&R proposed for replacement. They talked through the options as well as why I might want to select specific ones. I felt like I was under no pressure to go with the whatever they wanted to sell me. It felt more like they wanted to find out what I wanted so they could recommend the right systems. The installation went well with no unexpected issues. I was surprised with how quickly everything was installed and working. I wanted to wait a few months after the installation before I wrote the review to see if I was satisfied with the products and the work done. And I am very satisfied. Everything is working great - even with the sub-zero temperatures we've had lately. It's working exactly how I expected and how it was described to me when I was selecting the desired options. I haven't yet had a reason to call S&R since the installation, but I just know that I would get a quick response to whatever question I had for them. They were not the cheapest company I talked with when looking, but the quality of the service and systems I received were worth every penny.

This company does an amazing job! The day before Thanksgiving my family woke up without heat. We called another heating company that lives in my neighborhood no less and they wouldn't even come look at the problem before stating what they thought was wrong. Rob and team did a wonderful job installing a new HVAC system, on demand water heater and softener. the project was very complicated. the HVAC system was moved from the utility room to the attic. Most companies I contacted either didn't call me back or said it couldn't be done or they wouldn't do it. Rob took on the challenge and the results are amazing. we had just downsized. Update: Another great service experience on 12/13. Excellent technician. Great experience! New furnace and air conditioning system. Owner spent several hours at the house to determine the best system and answer my questions. On installation day both owners and their crew were working. The installation looks great and the house is very comfortable in heat and cold. Also installed a water softener and bathroom fans which work great! Recommend 100%.

Scott & Rob replaced our old furnace and air conditioner with a Bryant high-efficiency furnace and heat pump a/c unit, great equipment that helps us save $$$ on energy costs. Zone heating and digital thermostats allow us to set the right temps upstairs and down, even remotely. Full house dehumidifier helps keep our basement dry too. We are amazed at how much more comfortable the temperature is throughout the house. Not inexpensive, but worth it -- for years to come. S&R has been our "go-to" HVAC team for replacement and emergency service ever since we moved to the East Metro nearly 30 years ago. Great service, quality work, polite and friendly, knowledgeable and reliable guys. I highly recommend them.

Rob and his team were great to work with! We bought a house that S&R had previously installed and serviced with a heat pump and furnace. We noticed the basement was too cold during the summer when the AC was on and got very musty as we headed into fall. Rob explained how a whole-house dehumidifier and air exchanger would help us out. We noticed the difference almost immediately, and now our basement is actually comfortable and doesn’t smell anymore! This equipment also made the temperature on all three of our levels within 1 degree of each other, which previously varied by about 10 degrees. Icing on the cake is the new thermostat that looks cool and performs great! The installation was quick, well thought-out and executed nicely. We even had a small hiccup while working around another piece of equipment and Rob fixed it and made it right, which I really appreciated! It is fantastic to find a local company with great integrity! We signed up for their annual maintenance plan and look forward to working with them in the future!

Professionalism, responsibility, punctuality I had a new HVAC system installed. I was referred to S&R Heating and Cooling by one of my neighbors that he used their services for many years. I called them and scheduled appointment with Rob. He showed up on time and spent as much time as I needed to go through all options based on quality and my budget. They don’t rush you to decide as some service providers do. After my wife and I decided to go with them, I called Rob and set time for the installation within a week. Then, Rob and his team arrived on time on the day of installation and did an excellent job. Rob went through every detail they did and how we can use the thermostat. Rob and his team were an absolute pleasure to work with. #1. Rob showed up when he said he would for the quote. Considering such high demand and the fact that we just bought a house and no one seems to show up on time, this was a good first impression. Rob quickly but thoroughly walked me through the options and we made a few upgrades along the way. He was not pushy with the bells and whistles which actually made decide to get them. #2. They installed everything exactly as described, left the place spotless, and gave up complete training on how to use the smart thermostat. When we lived in Woodbury the first time, Rob from S&R Appliance handled our HVAC and appliance repair needs for over 12 years. Rob was always on time, friendly, trustworthy, honest and a superb technician. After 8 years we are moving back to Woodbury. When the home inspection revealed that the HVAC system required attention, it was a no- brainer who I would call. Rob came to our house on his day off and spent over 3 hours making a diagnosis, then doing adjustments and the repairs needed to make the system operable. We are once again on his home maintenance plan to ensure that the HVAC system and appliances will operate efficiently plus save energy. How would I describe S&R Appliance? The words from a Tina Turner song describe them perfectly....."Simply the best, better than all the rest"!!

I had been using a different HVAC company for 10+ years, but when it came time to replace my AC system they weren't listening to what I wanted anymore and didn't seem interested in my business. Scott and S&R listened to what I was asking for and even recommended a better solution, great experience. Our new Bryant heat pump uses 30-50% less power for cooling than the last system, and is nearly silent compared to the old york unit it replaced. Soft start on the fan/compressor is amazing, no more hard starting 100db+ ca-chunk every time it starts up. If you're interested in reducing power consumption and burning less gas for heating, maybe even pairing with solar PV, really consider a heat pump.

Rob and Scott: Just wanted to let you know that the new heat pump and attic-based air handler system has worked better than expected during this miserably hot summer of 2021. We didn’t realize how deficient our old system was until we have one that actually keeps the house comfortable during the hottest days of summer. My biggest concern was how well the air handler would work with the long flexible duct runs, and it pushes air to the farthest room without a problem. And the phone-based control has been quite useful, especially while out of town. We've also appreciated the energy and cost savings of the heat pump, for sure less than half of the old central air system usage.

We had a 23 year old AC system that recently went out. Rob Langer came out to try to repair the AC but we decided to replace the AC and furnace (also 23 years old) instead of doing a repair. I must admit I was not excited to replace our heating/cooling system but I will admit today that I "LOVE" my system and have NO buyers remorse. We are very happy with the Bryant system that Rob recommended. We feel we were given a fair price and the installation of the equipment was first class. The owners Rob and Scott worked all day on site to make sure everything was perfect. Each worker on site was professional and respectful of my home. They made sure everything was cleaned up when the job was finished. Rob even stayed late to explain the new system and fill out rebate forms. I painstakingly researched a new HVAC system for my home in Woodbury and quickly became confused when exploring the numerous options available. As with any large purchase, I embarked upon obtaining 3 quotes. One company texted me a photo of his handwritten quote and another failed to outline what was to be included in the installation (ie: no thermostat, using existing A/C lines before determining if they were up to code) Rob from S&R took the time to explain the differences in systems and provided a line item review of his quote. He was not the lowest price but he definitely explained how it was the best comparative value and would provide an ROI faster than cheaper systems. Full disclosure, I had used S&R in the past but this experience reaffirmed the trust I have in them as my heating and air conditioning service provider. I highly recommend them.

We had a really good experience with this company. Our furnace was running loud, and there was obviously a problem. I called and they were able to fit us in that very same day. Nathan arrived and diagnosed the problem, a bad inducer motor. They had a replacement on hand at their office. Once he returned he was able to quickly replace it- I don't even think it took him more than a half hour. The cost was a lot more than what we wanted to spend, but a same day major repair was still very impressive to me. Nathan was very knowledgeable, and was happy to talk me through the whole process and clearly explain the situation without being pushy. He even gave me some pointers for maintenance and other good advice. The furnace is running great now- thanks for the good work.

Exceptional service! Our furnace died unexpectedly and we were without heat for several days while we argued with our home warranty company over coverage. Rob met us in person at short notice and took the time to educate us on our options. More importantly, he helped us find a system that was optimal for our home and within our budget. We worked with Rob at S&R this February when our 25 year old outdoor packaged unit (AC& Heater) broke down during the butter cold. Rob took a sincere approach on offering our options on repair vs replacement, and brought us over some portable and safe electric heaters. My wife and I weighed our options with the comprehensive information Rob gave us to dig into and help make our decision. While nobody looks forward to plunking down a ton of cash on a brand new unit we also had multiple issues likely going to need to be fixed if we went on with a patch job on our old unit. So we decided to go with a new unit and boy are we happy we did. Rob was checking in with us from the first service call till after the unit had been installed. The crews where out so fast as soon as we pulled the trigger, did a GREAT job, and left the place looking better after they were done then when they showed up. I am fairly new to the area, and I have found my “go to” company for my heating, air conditioning, and water heater needs. My water heater was having issues, and I called S&R . They sent Scot out the same day. He quickly determined what the issue was, we discussed clear options, and determined that the best solution was to replace the aging unit. During one of the coldest days of my lifetime my furnace wasn't working properly. Of course I was panicked and worried about what the issue might be and how long it would take to fix. Called at 7 p.m. Furnace would not stay lit. Tech was here before 8 p.m. He checked several items as this furnace is 18 years old. Replaced the one item ( some sensor) assured me he checked all other possible issues and found none. Furnace has worked since then. When the time comes I will first look to S&R for replacement. I want to mention that this was a perfect chance to upsell or do more than I needed, as I am not the HVAC guy. I had to trust his professionalism and knowledge. I felt I was treated fairly with prompt courteous service. No one likes paying emergency call rates, but they were reasonable and the tech was honest. Can't ask for more, when you depend on their expertise and you get it.

Wow! What a difference a furnace can make...temp just stays at where you set it and I don't even hear it running. That is to both Bryant's credit as the manufacturer and also S& R's for being their dealer. But I didn't just buy a furnace and air conditioner....I bought a system which depends on an intelligent, fastidious, creative installation which is best adapted to my home. S & R delivered! I called S&R to fix my furnace on Thursday. After looking the furnace over, Rob indicated there were several cracks on the heat exchanger and repair was not feasible. Also indicated our furnace was very old and made for a mobile home (looking on google confirmed his statement). We worked out a deal for replacement + heat pump as AC was also quite old. We have solar, and the heat pump was a great green addition! They loaned us space heaters for the interim until following Tuesday at no charge. The crew came out as promised, replaced heater, ac, and re-vented the water heater (this was wrong also) and finished in one day. I also had them install some ducting to my basement. Overall a job very well done, customer for life! They even included me and family in their lunch break (pizza). I couldn’t be happier.

In March of this year they (Scotty) installed an under-sink reverse osmosis system. An excellent job. Cannot rate S & R highly enough. Fast forward to July 2015. Our original equipment was beginning to fail piece by part (air exchanger, cooling coil, and fan motor) so Rob gave us his recommendations: good, better, and best. He thoroughly explained each option with their benefits and pricing. We decided to go with the integrated Evolution system tied together with it's digital controller. It was a good choice. You can hardly hear it and heating, cooling, air exchange, and humidity are all controlled from a touch-screen (small) unit on the wall. The crew came in and it was all accomplished in a day's time. As usual polite, neat, efficient, friendly and spent all the time we needed to explain the new system. Any questions we were told not to hesitate and call. We cannot recommend them highly enough!

I came into contact with S&R Appliance, Inc. (Rob) via the Woodbury, MN community web page. I was having problem with my current furnace and wanted to determine if repair or a new system was the best option. After Rob laid out many options, I decided to go new. Although a new system was a larger investment than repairing the existing system, going this route was the best long term solution to having the proper heating and cooling system for my property. The old adage “you get what you paid for” is very true. A few things really resonated with me regarding Rob and his company: the passion he has for his craft, the goal to service the customer to 100% satisfaction and his overall integrity through the entire process. A few examples of integrity: • Rob didn’t belittle the former work or system. Instead, he focused on what solutions his company had to offer, stating, “For some this is only a business. When we do work, it’s our Picasso”. • When going through all the options of what I could do Rob stated, “No is a perfectly acceptable answer”. No high pressure tactics here, just straight up and honest. Again, this stated to me Rob was in for the long haul, not the quick one-time buck! • Finally, when the job was complete, Rob provided me with options related to a maintenance plan. Previously, I had another H&A company come into my house and selling me a maintenance plan was their first priority vs. doing the work. I won’t put my name directly in this review, but if Rob ever needs a recommendation or a potential customer wants to speak with me for a reference, I will do that for Rob and S&R Appliance in a HEARTBEAT! In my opinion, you’ll have no better option for this important part of your home’s operating system.

Let me start by saying that I had a very non-traditional project request. I have a solar-powered home with excess electricity that I was looking to utilize. I also had a broken air conditioner and had been looking for a contractor to come out and provide me with a solution but was not able to find someone who could confidently offer me what I was looking for. Scott came out and immediately explained to me my options and left me with three pricing options that would meet my needs. He was thorough and informative. What I ended up with was an innovative system, the Bryant Evolution system (heat pump paired with a gas furnace for back-up) and it has proven to be an AMAZING system. I highly recommend them!

On December 17, 2019, S & R Heating replaced our Furnace, Ventilator and Humidifier with the Bryant Evolution System including the Connex Wi-Fi Thermostat. They also installed the Network Interface Module so that all 3 units can communicate efficiently. Scott Sicard, Jim, Joe and Alex did the installation. YOU CANNOT ASK FOR A BETTER TEAM! All 4 were super friendly and did a fantastic job. I have been down this HVAC road several times before (3 new homes plus replacements in 2 others) and they were the best. I had asked them to add 2 gas fireplace shutoffs located near the furnace. Not only did they install the shutoffs, but re-routed all the pipes so that now I can get around the furnace area without bumping into them. They also changed the humidifier to a much better location, again getting it out of the main walkway so I'm not always running into it. Being a senior citizen, all the new technology can be very confusing. Scott and Alex were very patient and answered all my questions. Once again, they are super friendly. When the job was completed, except for the new equipment, you would never know someone had been here doing a major installation. They had tarps down in our front entrance, down the steps and completely covered anyplace they had to do any work. (Even put my dorm room type refrigerator back on top of a cabinet so I would not have to lift it by myself.) On the back of Scott Sicard's (1 of the owners) business card, it states: "The value of the job should not be determined by the price, but by the quality of the installation and the service after the sale!" Then it got cold so I went to turn on the furnace and nothing happened. The other company has been here twice and told me it would be about $900 to fix the problem.
