Our furnace went out and we have had trouble getting our usual repair company to do anything so we gave Home Energy Center a call. We were able to get HEC out to our house quickly and were able to make a plan for either a repair or replacement quickly and hassle free. Installation went smoothly and they kept things clean even though there was snow. Great Experience.

Jesse came out on 10/13/22 to replace the thermostat as I wanted the EcoNet Smart Thermostat. That was quick and he explained how to use it. Very pleased with Home Energy Center!

The installer came in took a look around and went to work. The installer took out the 20 year old old Rheem ac unit and replaced it with a new Rheem ac unit. Then he replaced the same age Rheem furnace with a new energy efficient Rheem furnace. He also installed some vents in the basement ducts and it is very comfortable now. The electrician also went over settings of the new thermostat she installed.

Home Energy Center is a good company to do business with. The employees are professional and work with the customer to make "it" happen. Our furnace died 1 or 2 am monday early morning, repair man was here monday morning, we talked to the salesperson and ordered a new furnace Monday evening and it was installed thursday morning. Because the furnace wasn't working an employee came over monday evening to drop off 4 brand new space heaters to use until our new furnace was installed. This company is great because they really worked with us to make " it" happen. We are repeat customers. Home Energy Center replaced the central air system for us three years ago.

They just finished a large project for us, and we are extremely happy with the result! Every touchpoint with the company was a positive experience. Starting with the lady who approached us at Home Depot in Eagan to have a free assessment of the energy use in our home. Turns out we'd already had about five companies out for various assessments and tune ups of our utility systems. Having just bought our house, our unmaintained underperforming furnace and water heater was an unpleasant surprise. We had yet to have the problems solved. Salesman John was extremely thorough and didn't rush us at all. We knew we could trust this company during our meeting with him as he understood the issues we needed resolved. The previous owners finished the basement, having three main trunk lines, but scrambled up the zones. Our job was unique and atypical because it required someone to cut into the finished basement ceiling and fix the ductwork, and they were willing to take it on. We also had the furnace and water heater replaced. I wish I could name all of the people who worked on our project, from the technicians to the scheduler. The Master Service Technician, Steve Cupps, oversaw the nebulous task of making our basement system work as it should have in the first place. Hunter also came out to our house multiple times to assist with the furnace installation, drywall cutting, and ductwork. Three other gentlemen also installed the furnace and a new return for the basement. Even though there were many hands on the job, their coordination was outstanding. The electricians came in to do their part during the furnace install, which they mentioned specializing in. I couldn't be happier with the quality of all of their work. Steve Cupps in particular made us feel comfortable during the entire process, which involved a handful of full days considering the exploratory ductwork fixing that was necessary. I honestly didn't think this exemplary quality of service existed from an HVAC company. We couldn't have made a better choice going with them. Thank you Home Energy Center!

If you’re looking for an upfront, easy, and painless process start to finish, this would be the company I would go with. From the start with Jacob coming out to talk over the options to the project being wrapped up, the process was seamless. I wasn’t upsold. Everyone listened to what I wanted and gave their professional suggestions along the way. Install happened on time and was hands off for me but the installer and electricians answered all my questions and even stayed through my thermostat set up to make sure everything worked properly. Second the furnace did not pass inspection we still waiting for them to come and fix the problem. We pay over 15.000$ for this project.on the end they come and fixed .

They came out to do a yearly check up on my furnace but unfortunately the tec forgot to attach a water drain tube and water was leaking into the unit all winter. The next time they came out and realized the problem, they repaired, cleaned, and replaced all damaged parts, all without charging me a dime. Their tec Issac was super polite and friendly, you could tell he took his job seriously, and everything was perfect. The next time they offered to tune up my AC I of course said yes. Ken Richardson, service tech, was thorough and explained results. The AC tuneup went well. I asked him to look at our Air purifier unit which did not have a glowing green indicator light. He made a call back to their HQ and discovered that it was under warranty and he put in an order to get it replaced, since he did not have one in the van. He put it back together and the indicator light turned on. It went off sometime before I checked it the next day. It will still be replaced.

The fan is running very fast on cooling which results in a fast cool down and high humidity The tech that was sent to clean did not know how to adjust fan speed. I then rescheduled to have an installer come out to check the setup. They sent the same tech that did the tune-up, didn't get the fan speed changed, and charged me $99 for absolutely nothing. They did an excellent job on installation, but failed miserably on service. 1 star

Steve and his crew performed an expert installation of my new AC. When installing the new unit, he caught the mistake it was a too small unit - 2 ton cooling. He replaced my old AC with a larger and properly sized one for the same price quoted for the smaller one. Another installer probably install the smaller AC and hope I would be satisfied. Steve is a true professional who takes pride in his work and places the customer first. He explained the function and care of my new AC and answered all my questions. I was recently selling my home in Coon Rapids, I had the gas company come out and inspect my furnace as part of the inspection for the buyer. I was told the heat exchanger was cracked in multiple locations. The gas company red tagged my unit and turned off the gas on one of the coldest days. I had quotes right away that evening, Home Energy Center came in with the lowest cost and said they would install it the next morning. At 7am, Steve their installer came in and started, by the early afternoon we had heat. He had to build a custom install because the previous person installed the heater incorrectly. The gas lines and electrical were not up to code. The finished install was night and day compared to the old one. Everything was professional installed and the work was neatly done. I would certainly recommend Home Energy Center to all my friends and family. I was impressed with the whole process and would use them again in a heartbeat!

Our furnace was not turning on. Luckily the unit was still under warranty so the parts were covered. Found the phone number on the unit and called the local phone number. They listened to what the symptoms were and what I had already done as far as basic troubleshooting. They were able to get someone scheduled in the afternoon. Jesse contacted me before coming out and verified the issue over the phone. He let me know that he would be able to get the parts that he felt was causing the issue and would arrive in the window for the appointment. Jesse arrived a few minutes early and was able to quickly diagnose and replace the parts that were necessary. When I had the unit installed they told me how to maintain it but I had forgotten to clean the filters on the indoor unit. Was glad that I had him out because he cleaned the unit for me inside and out and then reminded me. It looked very dusty on the filters where dust collects. The unit would not have continued to run properly if these were not cleaned. This company installed the unit two years ago through Home Depot in my house. They came in with six people and had the unit with a new electrical box set up in three hours. Very fast! This unit is top in energy efficiency. A big thanks to Home energy center.

I had him check the water line that runs to the water heater that was installed a couple years ago due to a leak. He found out it was the water line coming into the house, and you could literally see the water leaking from it. I had no idea that's where it was coming in. He offered to repair the leak even though it had nothing to do with the water heater, he has the right tools and parts to get the job done quickly to stop further damage. He was very knowledgeable about it and that made me feel comfortable with having him fix the leak. I highly recommend them to service any of your appliance needs. Thank you so much!!

The service tech Boon Lor was excellent and fixed our failed AC unit in moments. I was a little disappointed to learn that on top of the $99 service call fee, there is a minimum of one hour of labor $135 even to complete just a 5 minute repair. Add to that a capacitor which cost's nearly $400. Happy about the quick repair but not crazy about the $619 bill for a 10 minute total visit.

After just 3 years, recently a Freon leak was discovered in the AC line which caused the system to freeze up and leak and overheat. The system had run out of freon and I paid to have it refilled but the leak was never repaired because the technician did not have the tools to repair it. It has been over a month now with NO follow up to come back out and repair. I know they are busy but this should have been taken care of by now. I should not have to pay and recharge this AC system again. I don’t give a lot of reviews but this would have been a 5 star if they just would have followed up on this matter and supplied the fix in a timely manner.

At the peak of the Summer heat our AC went out (mysteriously) & "ServicePlus" was going to put us out a whole week+. Thankfully HEC was able to arrive the very next business day, in the A.M. Can't say enough kudos for Brennan who stuck with our (fairly new HomeDepot HVAC system) untill he resolved the issue. We're not sweatin' it anymore (not at night & not during the day) because we know these guys are there to get-it-done-right. I'd recommend these services as 5-Star for professionalism.

Overall we had a real good experience with Home Energy. The original quote was a bit high for us but our salesman worked with us and was able to get us a great deal. The installation was superb. Home Energy doesn't take ANY shortcuts on the installation. They don't reuse existing old parts and the parts they do use are higher quality than normal. The price might come in a little bit higher than other quotes but there's a reason and it'll show in the installation and customer care.

Great service. My furnace had quit working. I called them and they had a service tech at my house within 2.5 hours. They found the problem but also discovered that my heat exchanger was cracked. This could have bled CO into our house. They provided space heaters to take care of us while we were down, and were back in two days with a new furnace. They had it installed in about 6 hours. They left no mess in the house. Everything was cleaned up nicely. They put in a new WiFi thermostat and made sure I understood how to use it. Great people to work with. I'd recommend them to anyone who needs HVAC work.

I purchased a new heating and air system from Home Energy Center about a year ago. It's been working great. Today, I found water had pooled under the unit and seeped into the carpet. Problem was I couldn't tell if it was the ac or the water heater. I called the Home Energy Center and a gentleman named Ryan Rudolph was at my home within half an hour! Keep in mind this is after 5pm on a Friday during Minnesota State Fair week. He quickly assessed the source of the leak was the water heater. Thankfully it was not my wonderful new ac. Turns out Home Energy Center offers water heater installation too. I just bought a new water heater and it will be installed first thing next week. Ryan was able to charge a discounted trip fee for the service call due the maintenance plan I have on the ac. He even gave me a 50 dollar gift card because of the Fair. I highly recommend this business. They provide complete service, installation, support and financing.

Got an early morning appointment to get my Furnace tuned up / checked before winter. Nick the technician called to verify my appointment and let me know when he would arrive. I semi-recently (2013) bought my first single family house. It is in great shape but my AC unit looked old and outdated. I wasn't sure if I needed a new one or not. I made a call to the Home Energy Center and talked to one of their representatives in upper management. The gentleman took the time to kindly explaine to me the differences between an old unit and a new one, and explained the coast of the unit versus the efficiency. After explaining the benefits and drawbacks of installing a new unit I decided to wait a while to replace the old one that still was working fine. The associate I had the pleasure of talking with agreed that waiting would be a good option in my circumstance and never pressured me to buy a new unit. It was a great experience dealing with a company that puts people before profits and thoughtfully considers everyone individually. I'm glad I listened to my friends who suggested their service and I will definitely use them when I upgrade my AC unit in the future.

At the 2017 MN State Fair in my wife and I were approached by Home Depot Home Services as we were looking at replacing our entire 20 year old home HVAC System. Skeptical of Big Box stores and services, I did allow for a home visit by HDHS which was performed by Home Energy Center on behalf of Home Depot. Cut forward, the pricing was agreed to (pleasantly surprised) for a new 90% Furnace, High Efficiency Central Air, and new Honeywell Zone Dampening system. The Service was impeccable. No, Seriously. Hats off to the folks at Home Energy Center. We had a complication in getting the Honeywell system to control my in-floor heating and they worked the problem like Apollo 13. Hence, I liked these guys so much that I signed up for routine annual maintenance. Well, I'm not the best guy to remember, but HEC calls me and scheduled my service appointment. NICE! This past Thursday, 1/9/2020, Two techs show up at my house promptly at 7am. I'm like, WOW - ON TIME?!? Friendly and courteous with explanations throughout their time, so very satisfied. They found that my furnace condensing unit was leaking and they proceeded to correct the problem, ran a bunch of diagnostic tests and, get this, explained what they found! OMG! Also, the second Tech on site was in an training under the guidance of the Sr. Tech. She (yup, she) is a 12 year Army Veteran making a career change into HVAC. How cool is that! Just to conclude - Home Energy Center is as good as it gets. I kid you not. I have had great experience with these folks. I suggest you give them a try.

Jared Montagne was very through, helpful and was able to resolve issues given the constraints (lack of replacement parts) that he had. I was impressed with his attitude and willingness to help me in resolving my questions and concerns. I highly commend him for the work performed at my home. In regards to the salesman and installation team that worked on this HVAC project however, I would not give them a positive rating. The salesman only rates a one star for being unresponsive after the sale and not providing information about the installation. The installation team rates 3 stars. Space does not allow for all my comments regarding the installation work.

My furnace went out on a Friday afternoon and I couldn't find anyone to come fix it. I was at Home Depot and saw a sign that said they have relationships with HVAC repair shops so I called the number. Shockingly, The Home Energy Center was able to sent someone out to me at 4:00 on a Friday afternoon. Steve Cupps is the technician that showed up. . . and I'm so glad that he did! . He was amazing. He determined that the motor blower was not working and he had to drive from Plymouth to Mendota Heights (quite a long haul) to get a part for my Lennox furnace. He left my home around 5:00 pm and came back at 6:45 to continue working on the furnace (this is on a Friday night!). He was so willing to help and to get the job done so we wouldn't be without heat all weekend. We are very grateful to Steve for going above and beyond on a Friday evening to help us out. Very professional and prompt service. It wasn’t cheap (let’s say well north of 16k) but they do excellent work. ***Edit Below - Updated*** I was pretty happy initially when my new furnace and AC were installed. The installation was in mid April and this year it was still cold at that time and the furnace worked great! I didn’t have a chance to run the AC until much later. This is when problems arose. I had a 2 stage 2 ton Rheem AC and 98% eff furnace, both of them communicating. The first warm day of the year (85F) it took the AC 7 hours to bring the house from 77 to 72. I have to say, I was not impressed. Adding to this fact the price I paid for the units and install.... I was beginning to lose my composure. I admit I wasn’t as nice as I should have been initially when I called about the issues. I’m so used to having to put up a fight when challenging a professional’s work in the past. Especially with so much money on the line. Boy was I wrong... here’s what they did: They sent a tech by the name of Steve Cupps to check it out. This guy was great. He went through my entire system and found that the air returns in my living room were woefully inadequate. He came back and completely replaced them with 7” ducts and did not use any flex hose. All of it sheet metal... all of properly taped. The original ducting was 6” pipe. 1/2 of it flex hose. 0 tape used. I ran for a week. While there was definitely improvement, the cooling time was still not satisfactory. A week later he, an assistant and an awesome electrician Tracy replaced the 2 ton with a new 3 unit. To be fair to Steve, he wanted to use a 2.5 ton but rheem doesn’t make that size in this model. It is currently 92 outside. The new unit took my house from 77 to 72 in 2 hours. This is exactly what I wanted. My additional cost $0. Here’s why this is special. It’s one thing that they replaced the first unit. It wasn’t defective, it technically was the right size. It just didn’t perform. But they went the extra mile by rerunning the returns to ensure proper air flow. It’s one thing to have something expensive done and it work great right away and everyone is happy. It’s much harder to do the right thing and fix the hard problems to honor the customer’s satisfaction. Let this be a lesson. You get what you pay for. These guys are great. And if I ever need HVAC in the future they will get my business. I am a customer for life. The whole team, Blake, Steve, Jesse, Tracy and those who’s names I don’t know. You guys are great. Thank you so much.

Colin replaced my furnace's inductor motor after testing it in my presence. You could hear the bearings were going out. However, he also noticed my furnace would not go into high-output mode. He discovered that it was programmed incorrectly so he fixed this. Prior to this fix, the temperature would keep dropping in extreme low temperatures. I'm very grateful that Colin is both so conscientious and competent.

Seamless install of my new Air Conditioner. Matthew was curtious to our home while installing, laying downplastic over carpet and putting downdrop cloths on our wood floors as to not damage our home during installation. The electrician came in and did her work quickly and efficiently working along with Mathew. He worked quickly despite being short handed and did the install for the most part (with the exception of the electrician) by himself. He explained the work he did and what the electrician did. He showed me how to work my new thurmostat as well. I'm very pleased with the work that was completed.
