One of the best contractor experiences I've ever had. I worked extensively with David and the Freedom crew in my aging Minneapolis home. It was a great experience and I will wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone. David evaluated our home and our needs and actually concluded that we needed LESS than I asked for! He emphasized the need for whole-home comfort and not just slapping in a high-efficiency furnace and calling it done. He coordinated with my insulation company to tackle the whole project. He spent a ton of time on the phone with me - well beyond what could be reasonably expected. He and his crew were extremely courteous, timely, and CLEAN. David ensured that our home was just as nice when they left - a true feat that I have never experienced with any company before Freedom. I felt no qualms about David and his crew working in the home with my wife and child when I wasn't present - my wife had great respect for the crew and was extremely impressed with how diligently they took care of our home. David and his teams showed up when they said they would and completed the work on (or ahead of) schedule. The system is working flawlessly and keeps our home comfortable, even in the bitter cold. I had 4 companies visit my home before choosing David and Freedom. Now I'll never have to go through that hassle again - I'll always pick Freedom. I recommend you do the same.

Six years ago, after much research I bought a furnace and air conditioner through David at Freedom. His caring style and attention to detail was outdone by his integrity. This week I returned to Freedom when a competitor said I had gas leaks, failing parts etc. during an annual furnace check. Not only did I NOT have gas leaks, Freedom (John and Ado) found and fixed a potential safety hazard created by a contractor. The competitor was trying a fear tactic, didn’t consider other key issues and never suggested that issue (if it existed) might be covered by warranty). I have continually been impressed with the exceptional quality of caring, professional service from Freedom. THEY follow up on every service request and care deeply. It is a refreshing and essential difference from any other service providers I’ve seen in many years. Freedom you make me believe in family run businesses. You have heart and talent. Thank you.

I recently had various work done at my rental property in St. Paul and want to give a shout out the great contractors I found and how easy they were to work with! I was so pleased with the service I received from Freedom! Here's why I'd recommend them and how they're different from others: The City of St. Paul does annual safety inspections and said that my dryer vent was not up to the latest codes (that they had updated but not notified anyone of) and they claimed needed to be replaced. I tried to source this work from several companies but they weren't able to come out on my timeline or didn't have the specific licensed HVAC technician that they city required to do the work with a permit. In my calling around, I was able to get in touch with Freedom and spoke with Amy on the phone who was so friendly and easy to work with in getting everything I needed set up and closed out at the end of the job. I felt they were trustworthy and thorough and I would use them again and recommend them to others!

Furnace went out and called two places. The first place wanted double the price and offered a less than desired time window for service. Freedom Heating and Air had someone over in 30 mins! The owner (David) got my furnace up and running within an hour for a great price! I decided to sign up for their club membership which includes a annual check up and cleaning of my furnace and my AC. Anthony came a week later and cleaned my furnace without issue, he was also extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient! Rae-Lynn in the office was also friendly, knowledgeable, and all around awesome!! I would highly recommend this team to anyone needing furnace or AC services. You will definitely be in good hands!!! Freedom did such an amazing job. We had them put in a mini split ductless AC system. They were professional, efficient, friendly and flexible. Great company. Quick and easy quote and then no financial surprises once AC unit was put in. They also cleaned up after themselves, which I really appreciate from a company providing this sort of service. Our a/c died at the beginning of a long heat streak. I called a couple companies we had worked with previously and the soonest they could get to us was a week to 10 days later. I found Freedom Heating and decided to try them based on google reviews. They were able to come out in 2 days. The tech explained everything as he did it, always consulted with us regarding the costs before doing anything, and had it up and running quickly. We were very pleased, and thought the pricing was fair ($409 included trip charge, replacing both a/c fuses and the capacitor). And, our family stayed cool through the heat wave. We couldn't be happier with our experience with Freedom. Dave installed a ductless air conditioning system for us a couple of weeks ago. He was professional, communicated clearly every step of the way, and has a good eye for detail--he found the perfect spot to put the head in our living room so that it would cool efficiently but doesn't attract a lot of attention. He also made sure the outdoor unit and parts were inconspicuous and out of the way. The quote was a little more than 2 other companies, but they use the highest quality products and their customer service was more than worth it. We would happily use Freedom again.

David with Freedom did a large project for me as part of a basement remodel, and did an excellent job! Scope of work included a new furnace and A/C unit, re-configured duct work to allow for more ceiling space for a new basement bedroom, and a number of new gas lines. As part of the larger basement project, David had to coordinate a number of items with the plumber I had hired, and he did a great job playing nice and working well with the other contractor. The electricians Freedom subcontracted, JZ Electric, did excellent work as well. David consistently had an eye on suggestions for improvements that could be done, when other contractors would simply be trying to install new HVAC systems, get paid, and get out. The staff workers that did the majority of the work were friendly, respectful, and helpful with all my questions. Freedom's office staff were also on top of everything, and were helpful whenever I needed something from them. I couldn't be happier I chose to work with Freedom, and I would recommend them to anyone.

Awesome company that is fast, proficient, good prices, and no extra work on your end. This company needs to be one of the companies you consider getting any HVAC work or install done. Truly great. This is a great company. Our AC died on a Sunday and the owner came out on Monday to give us an estimate on replacing both our AC and Furnace. There estimate was exactly what I paid and was more affordable than other estimates I got that same day. Also David was the only person (of 4) that day to see that there was back draft coming from my water heater pumping noxious gases into my home. His attention to detail was great which gave me absolute confidence in him and his crews. They were able to accommodate a next day install for me. His crew went above and beyond. We asked that they tried to not wake our napping baby (who does not sleep like the proverbial baby he wakes at everything). Amazingly, they were able to do so! They finished on time, on price, with exceptional quality. When bad times happen with HVAC these guys need to be your first and potentially only call.

Our a/c unit bit the bullet right before the Memorial Day weekend. We suffered through the weekend and called Freedom on Tuesday. I talked to Amy and she was very friendly and helpful and scheduled an estimate for us the following day. David came out to our townhouse and was extremely knowledgeable and courteous. We explained to him that due to the age of our a/c unit we would just like to replace it. He gave us a couple options and we went with a new Bryant unit and Honeywell programmable thermostat. He was out a couple days later and installed the unit and had an electrician with him who replaced the shut off box by the new unit. He called us when he was just about done and we came home and he gave us a thorough walk-through of what he did. This man is a perfectionist! He did a fantastic job and we have been just loving the comfort his work has given us. I can't recommend him highly enough, Freedom Heating and Air will be my only call from now on for all my HVAC needs! Thanks Freedom!

My experience with Freedom HVAC was significantly better than the previous company I was working with. After installation of a whole house dehumidifier, the service tech Anthony felt that the filters would be better accessed if he flipped it the opposite direction. There was no charge for the extra time. Definitely a 5 star experience!

Our technician, Anthony, did an excellent job and was very friendly and professional, which was impressive given his young age. This was the 3rd year in a row that we've needed help on our unit with the 1st year being a coolant charge, the 2nd a coolant charge and a dye test to check for a leak, and this last time another coolant charge. The only frustrating part through this whole process is we shouldn't need a charge every year and this was the first time the technician recommended replacing our unit and gave us a very thorough explanation of a few possible causes of why we kept losing freon. If our technician the first time around would have been more caring of our situation like Anthony, we would have been able to cover a repair, or a new unit, through our warranty but now this will not be the case. So all in all, this company does a nice job and is very friendly but wish some things would've been done differently especially early on. My wife and I highly recommend Anthony as a technician as he really seems to care about you as a person, and a homeowner, and does not treat his service call as just another job.

This contractor actually offered a great solution to a tricky building heat/cooling issue. I own an old store front with a 2 unit residence behind. They were all polite and showed up early for appointments. Finished work in one day, when I thought they would be around for a week. nobody smoked on my property or stood around using a mobile phone. When I hire different service providers -- and new faces are rare -- I try to make sure the provider understands that commitment on my part, and can even see that they play a part in that long game. FYI, I have no personal affiliation with this company, I just now really like them now that I've used them. I found them through the internet, and I hope that my personal review will help convince people to use Freedom. WELL DONE! Freedom was exactly what I was looking for - a local, locally-owned business, with real people doing real work...honest guys making an honest living doing hard, technical work for regular people. Man, they saved me... Before Freedom: I had originally called Minneapolis and St Paul Heating and Air Conditioning, and they sent out a technician that was basically a salesperson, who told me a million things but didn't do anything, and left without a quote or fixing the air conditioning, and later called with a $1650 estimate (plus the $80 fee for coming over in the first place), to install pounds of coolant and a can of sealant. Woah, $1730, could that be right? He mentioned it so casually on the phone, and only after I asked (he didn't volunteer the info, and never sent me an email with the info, either). He said that half (about $800) would be to put in coolant, and half (about $800) would be to put in the can of sealant to repair any leaks. So I told him to hold off, and I called Freedom. After I called Freedom: The guy on the phone (the owner or manager?), was super-helpful, set up an appointment with me, and then a tech, Anthony came over. He said that my 5-year-old air conditioner was a little low on coolant, maybe 1-2 pounds, and I would want him to put some in, and should he repair the leak, too? We talked it over, and I decided to hold off on repairing the leak (1-2 pounds loss over 5 years is an extremely slow leak), and just to put in the coolant. And instead of $800+ and the $80 service charge (which would be $880, not to mention that they wanted to do a full $1730), Anthony put in the coolant, I paid the $260, and we are all set. I will DEFINITELY use Freedom to check my furnace in the fall, and to recheck my AC next spring, and recommend them to anyone and everyone (I put a Facebook post about them on my Facebook page, and it got lots of likes...everyone loves a good service guy!)

I had the absolute pleasure of having Anthony as the technician who repaired my air conditioning. The bedroom on the main floor of my home was not getting any cool air. The first time he came out, Anthony "immediately diagnosed" the problem and ordered the part required to fix. Best service ever! Woke up today Tue 2/6/18 with no furnace, 9 degrees outside and 54 degrees inside. Center Point said they could make it on Friday. Standard Heating said they could come on Thursday. Freedom said they could come between 12-2, arrived at 9:45 and I had heat by 11:00. The total price was 1/3 under Center Point's "show up on Friday" price.
