Called Lake Michigan Heating to assist with a business issue; customer had a broken drain line and blamed my field team for breaking it. Lake Michigan Heating worked with me to get the broken line fixed for the customer. Colton was the responding tech and was very professional and did a great job on the installation, saving my company money and making the customer happy. I also had Lake Michigan Heating out to my personal home for an AC unit quote, and the tech gave us great recommendations based on our home and didn't just try to sell us the top price appliances. He even looked at other systems such as our furnace and gave some options and recommendations for that. Overall experience was very positive, and will definitely work with Lake Michigan Heating for future issues at home and for work!

Mary called to let us know she would be early by two hours! When she arrived, she was professional, and informative about my furnace replacement options. She also repaired the furnace (20 years old) so we had a little life left to hold us until replacement. She was quick to schedule our Monday appointment. Daniel did a great job explaining the varying efficiency systems. He made me aware of a rebate that would allow me to keep the price of a unit within range of the first I chose. He called Synchrony Bank on my behalf twice, helping me get my account number to my existing credit line. Both were outstanding. Highly recommended! 02/06/2023 Marry and her partner, whose name I did not get, installed our furnace, and prepared us for our AC installation. A third, Nigel, walked me through my AC options clearly. He also took care of editing my prior transaction, and he listened to my concerns to make sure other aspects of the transaction were done correctly. He was very patient. He also brought the AC component, and didn't forget to lock our backyard gate. They all kept the house clean. My basement looks better than before.

The folks of Lake Michigan Heating, Cooling, Plumbing were great. Nigel stopped over and explained what the best situation would be for replacing our old boiler and hot water heater. He set us up with a high efficiency boiler and hot water on demand unit. He explained to us how it worked, how it would be installed, and how it would save us money for heating our home and for our hot water usage. Then when we hired them to install the unit the ladies at the office were great about scheduling us as soon as possible to install the unit as temps were going to be very cold. Eli, Aydin, and Dan came over to install the unit and did a bang up job. Very professional. Eli answered any questions I had and when they were done I was very happy with the installation.

I had a backup in the wonky S trap under my drain that was clearly old and needed replacement in addition to my garbage disposal having a leak of some kind. I installed the garbage disposal myself, but Chris was able to come by and remedy my blockage. Unfortunately for me, the piping under the sink was old and also not up to modern code, so it had to be cut out and replaced. Chris was here promptly at 8am, listened to my concerns, and recommended the piping be redone to be better and I agreed. I only gave 4 stars to Lake Michigan Heating & Cooling to reflect the price. This was a bit on the high end for the work being done, but the business is upfront with you about their style of work and cost. If you need it quick and have the money, they are the go to for most needs. Real shoutouts to Chris and the master plumbers who ply their trade with professionalism and quality.

We woke up Saturday morning with no heat in our home with the outside temperature at 10 degrees. We called Lake Michigan heating and the had a truck here at 10:30, and the heat back on by 12:30. Communication was excellent. They came back the following week and did some recommended maintenance on the boiler so that it would be in top shape for the future. All questions were answered and the work seemed really good. Mary was our technician and she was friendly and informative.

Following the call I received an email confirmation, which was much appreciated. He was friendly, knowledgeable and cleared the clog promptly. Daniel and Mary-Claire were excellent! I called in the morning and they were at my house to replace the water heater by early afternoon (other businesses couldn't get to me for 1 to 2 weeks). They worked very efficiently, were finished within 2 hours, left the work area cleaner than it had been, and taught me a lot about water heaters during the process. The price was higher than other businesses had quoted me over the phone, but I chose to go with Lake Michigan because I didn't want to go without hot water in the cold weather. Mary Claire Leidel installed our new HVAC well but needs to be retrained on Customer Service. When the installation was complete I called her that afternoon to let her know the HVAC was not kicking on and her response was passive aggressive and rude. She had stated the system was resetting and I should give it 5 minutes but then when on to make me feel like I was wasting her time and sarcastically offered to turn around if my wife and I felt that this minor thing was still a significant issue. I informed her that I had just spent thousands of dollars at their Company and didn't really need the attitude I just needed the HVAC to work. Overall, outside of the unnecessary remarks, this company's other personnel were professional, they was on time, and fast with the installation though their price point is high compared to other competitors in the area (the other company's had a longer wait time for installation though).

Great group of people! We hired them to install central air, and every time I've dealt with them they've been awesome. We have a duplex, and they showed up with a team of people and were in and out. Before 1:30, both sides were completely installed, cleaned up, and they were gone. Everyone that showed up were really kind, courteous and professional. Whether you get Nigel, Mary Clare, Mike or Daniel, you'll be in good hands! Don't expect that they'll always show up with a whole team of people though. Eli, Mike, Nigel, Mary Claire, Daniel and Kyle were conscientious in their efforts to protect our newly carpeted areas and freshly painted walls while the old boiler was taken out as the new one was brought in and installed. Cleaned up during and after the job was done too. Always responded quickly. I was impressed to receive a written estimate the same day as the quote appointment. Especially when two out of four other companies came, but never even followed through with written estimates! We also hired them to switch out an electric stove with a new gas stove at our cottage. They converted it from natural gas to LP. Eli did a very thorough job!

I was having an issue with hot water flow for the bathtub in our new home. There was an anti scald valve that was the issue and I called to just have someone come out and remove/bypass the valve. Kyle arrived on time and accessed the issue. He gave me an on site quote to bypass the valve and a second quote because he thought there may be a small filter inside the valve that might be plugged and may take care of the issue. I told him to proceed and he looked first for the filter because it would require less labor and therefor would be less expensive. Turns out that there was a filter and it was totally plugged up with pvc shavings from the tub install. He cleaned it out and the flow was what we expected. I appreciated that he took the time to look at options to save money instead of just remove the valve as I had requested when I called. Kyle was very friendly and cleaned everything up before he left.

My A/C quit at the worst time of year. The owner, Daniel, came over that same day to assess the issue (which is incredible given the busyness of all trades at the moment). He spent an hour trying to figure out an inexpensive fix for the 21 year old A/C condenser, but in the end it would have cost almost as much to repair as to replace. At that point, he took time to discuss all my options and gave me approximate costs of each. I decided to replace the A/C and the 21 year old furnace with good quality American made models. Daniel took time the next day to communicate back and forth with me on which A/C and furnace combo would offer the most bang for my buck. And the following day, Daniel and another employee were at my house 9am - 8:30pm to get the job completed. They offered to put on boot covers when entering the house, and they moved everything I had crowded around the furnace back when the job was done. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Availability, on time arrival, a very thorough explanation of the problem and choices available to me, plus a very useful analysis on the condition of other components on my system. Sadly I marked them down because of their failure to follow up. Based on the age of the furnace, the parts the technician identified as likely to fail next and that we were only half way through winter, I wanted a replacement system ASAP, the technician said he would come back out in a couple of days (Remember he was there on a holiday) and quote a replacement system for us, unfortunately that never happened so after seeing an ad on TV we called Jacobson, they came out and quoted the same day we called and then installed the next day

She called me twice (I missed the calls but she did what she said she’d do!) to let me know that Chris and Aydin were on their way. They arrived at lunch time which I wasn’t expecting but Chris said they wanted to come right away because we had no water. Wow - amazing service! After checking things out he provided us with some options ranging from fixing it to replacing it with a couple of different sizes and types of tanks. I was impressed with how knowledgeable and thorough he was, especially for a younger guy (I’m in my 50’s so I guess it’s all relative - LOL). We opted to replace it. They got working on it right away (I don’t even know how they had time to eat lunch!). They were very efficient with a pleasant demeanor. We are thrilled that they were able to help us so soon. Especially when the company we previously used and bought the hot water heater & entire HVAC system from couldn’t even come out until the weekend. Unbelievable excellent service! We will use them again, and plan to as he’s coming back with a quote on something else we inquired about. This will be our go to company going forward.
