I had an issue with my blower motor on my unit. Alex from Jacobson came over for the repair. He was thorough, and he had the job done within an hour. He was personable and professional. Not only that, but Alex also let me know my litter box was too close to the furnace and was not helping with longevity based on the amount of dander and dust accumulating and suggested I relocate it. I am extremely happy with the level of service I was provided, especially today when it feels like businesses don’t really care about the consumer experience. I’d recommend Jacobson to anyone. Again, a big thank you to Alex for his diligence and professionalism, my family and I really appreciate it.

I needed to purchase a new furnace and air conditioning unit. My son recommended Jacobson Heating and Cooling, as he had called them before. They were prompt in giving me estimates for what I needed done, and when the time came to install my purchases, they were prompt, friendly, efficient and I appreciated Mark, James and Ross who were the installers. Our central air went out this Holiday weekend, we called Jacobson early on the first working day, the receptionist was incredibly kind and helpful and she was able to get me an appointment promptly. A Jacobson technician was at our house in a little under an hour. Our Tech, BJ was a hero, he managed to troubleshoot and repair several issues in a timely manner. He also gave me a lot good information about keeping my system in good order. Total time from call to completion was less than 2 hours. I hope All Jacobson Employees are getting big bonuses AND free lunches for this level of service!

Greg, Mike, Carl, and Matt were our installers. I was highly impressed with their professionalism and knowledge. I loved the fact that they brought in clean mats that covered all of the areas they had to travel in the house. I have never experienced a team take such care to leave our home as clean as they found it! They also problem solved running gas and electrical to a crawl space. They finished the heat to our home in one day and returned briefly the next day to complete the fabrication of a part for the furnace. We are so pleased!

We have a complicated dual zone system that came with our condominium that our previous service provider often struggled with. We heard Jacobson understood these systems so we tried them out when we had a problem with the heating between zones. Rich came out and quickly diagnosed the problem, talked with me about options, and ordered the parts. Called a few days later and came out to install new dampers and zone control board. In addition we asked him to replace our one thermostat for both zones with 2 new Nest thermostats. He planned ahead with Mike and Tony and was able to quickly complete the full job in much less time/labor than I thought. Worked first try, so happy. They are now my new exclusive HVAC provider!

I had Richard S. Do my furnace tune-up in Oct and he did a great job and give me some good advice on the humidifer and he replaced the pad and mentioned the Restrictor needed cleaning so it would work properly which he did too. I did end up having to have the drain line replaced which Richard came back and did and replaced with a more efficent one. He was friendly and courteous and im happy with the service i received.

Tim and Mike came out and installed a new furnace for us this week and we have been toasty warm since then, despite the winter cold! I was concerned because we have an older home with narrow hallways and a twisty staircase but they were able to exchange the old furnace for the new without any damage to the walls or floors and took care to completely clean up after they finished the install. Our old furnace was installed by Jacobson's and their service over the past many years has been quick and reliable. We couldn't be happier!

Called them on a Friday and Jeff came out a few hours later to quote me on a furnace replacement. Greg & David came out the following Tuesday and installed it in a few hours and did a great job. Jacobson’s quoted me a price far lower then the competitors that came out first and it was for the same exact unit. Overall great experience and will be recommending them to friends and family.

On the first hot evening of the year, our air conditioning did not work. Called Jacobson the next morning and they sent a service technician the same day. Found out that our system was completely empty of refrigerant and the evaporator coil was leaking. Received a quote from Tom and decided to replace the AC system. A couple of days later Mike and James arrived to install a new AC. They were on time, professional and personable. They were efficient and and completed the job in just a couple of hours. Tyler, a service tech arrived later in the day to check out the system and make sure all was well. All three of them answered our questions and made sure we understood the new system.

Our furnace quit working at 5 pm on Thursday 2/17/2022. I called and left a message with the answering service asking for a phone call as soon as they opened the next morning. I explained that we had a pellet stove so we could wait until morning. I received a call from them on Friday morning about a quarter to 8. Tom was over within 10 minutes to give me a quote to replace the furnace, ours is over 40 years old and had been repaired before. The price was what less then I expected and by 2 pm the new unit was installed and running. The installers were really great. Neat, quick, polite and professional. They were David, Matt and Mike. Jacobson replaced our 22-year-old furnace with a brand new Daikin high-efficiency unit. The sales process was easy and low-pressure. Jeff provided a great price and answered our questions. We were able to get the installation scheduled quickly due to an issue with our old furnace. Two technicians, Robert and BJ, came to our home to complete the work. They laid our mats to make sure our carpets were protected. They did the installation quickly and cleaned up everything in the furnace room when they were done. I could not be any happier with Jacobsen's. Mark and James were incredibly professional, quiet, super-fast and way more reasonable than other companies. Our heat went out in the middle of the winter. They came the same day I called them and had our furnace replaced the very next day. I got several quotes and they were by far the least expensive (thousands less), very specific in the pricing and did high-quality work. I would definitely recommend them.

Our A/C unit stopped working on the Friday afternoon just ahead of the July 4th weekend. We managed to forestall a full family meltdown for a few days and, first thing on Tuesday morning, gave a call to Jacobson. They indicated that they would have someone come out that morning, and David D showed up promptly within about an hour after our call. David was very pleasant to talk with, listened intently to the details of our situation, and went right to work on the problem. Within another hour or so, he had the problem diagnosed (a bad capacitor) and fixed, the A/C unit fully cleaned up, and functionality tested and verified. (And along the way we had a nice conversation about fireworks...) It was great to have such a responsive experience with a company, and to interact with such a competent, personable, and professional person as David. Matt, Mark and James installed the furnace and air conditioning for us. I highly recommend them. The installation was done just after two days after I called them to make appointment. The crew were very careful to not mess our home or get my home dirty. They were nice and professional. They even helped us secure our duct, which was not their responsibility. I compared the price among different companies. Jacobson is the most reasonable. I immigrated to this country 20 years ago. I am just amazed so much that, in this country, not so many people compare pricing when selecting their service and products. I seldom saw a custom review talking about pricing. Amazing! Don't people care about pricing? The same products or services often times are charged so differently in this country! Sometime the pricing double! I am just so amazed about that! I wouldn't spend time comparing products and services that are small and inexpensive, but for big services and products, I definitely compare! It can easily mean a few bucks' difference.

The outside AC unit wasn't coming on but the blower motor on the furnace was. I called Jacobson when they opened at 8 and BJ from Jacobson was here sometime around 9:30. BJ quickly determined that the outside unit wasn't getting a signal from the thermostat to turn on. He soon determined a broken wire (from vibration) inside the furnace was the problem. BJ repaired the broken wire and AC was soon running again. Nice job BJ!

Awesome people! Before calling Jacobson…I called 2 of the larger HVAC companies in the Grand Rapids area. Those companies would not talk price, even theoretically. Said they had to send someone out to give me an estimate…at a cost to me. Even though I told them I was 99.9% sure what the issue was with my AC unit (turned out I was right). Jacobson treated me like a person. Talked to me with a helpful, understanding attitude. Came out same day…sooner than expected…knocked out the job very quickly…and CHARGED ME LESS THAN THEY QUOTED ME! How can you beat that? You can’t! The technician was super friendly, as well. I should have called Jacobson first. I will next time, for sure. You should do the same. They’re the best.

Took a couple days to come out but very much expected as it was the first hot day of the summer. Even though I tested and ran my AC unit the week before, the outside unit simple would not start up. They scheduled with me and came onsite the day they promised. David D diagnosed my problem, fixed it and was on his way in under an hour. My son and I first met Tom for an estimate and he was very informative and honest about our old gravity feed furnace and financing/rebate options. I am not from the area so I do not have a local go to heating person that I trust. Jacobson was the second company we contacted and immediately felt that they were competent and trustworthy. Have used Jacobson since we moved into this house in 1990. Know that previous owners did also as there was a Jacobson's plaque on the existing (probably 1960's) furnace when we moved in. (The phone number on it was CH5-1131!) Always excellent service -- people are knowledgable, prompt, courteous. Products deliver -- this is our second furnace/AC in the last 30+ years. The blower went out on our furnace during a really hot and humid time of the summer. Without the blower we had no air conditioning and the humidity was terrible. We called our regular HVAC company and were told 2 to 3 weeks to replace the unit. We called Jacobson's and they came out the next day to inspect our system and gave us a quote to replace it. They were very professional and pleasant. Not only was the quote less, they made time the next week to come out and install the new system. Jacobson's is now our regular HVAC company!

Prompt, thorough, pleasant, professional, what more could you ask for? I sent a late night request for a quote for both a furnace and AC. The called right away the next morning! Much appreciated. They scheduled an estimate for two days later and were 5 minutes early. Again much appreciated. The install team took great care to protect our carpets. During the install, they scheduled the electrician to update our breaker box and a second party from Jacobson's came after completion to insure everything was properly installed and functioning. They were courteous, cleaned up as they went, gave me tips on upkeep, showed me what was done and explained how things worked. And they were just plain nice guys, a pleasure to be around. I would highly recommend them and Jacobson Heating and Cooling. I have hot water heat and had contacted two other heating and cooling companies, both wanted to sell me a new furnace and air conditioner and didn't give me any other options. I contacted Jacobson and was informed for about half the price I could put in just an air conditioning unit. This is what I did and I am very happy. Jacobson provided a level of service that every homeowner hopes to receive when a disaster happens. My furnace stopped working in the middle of the night in early March. Jacobson was at my house within 2 hours of me calling them. After an assessment, they decided I needed a new furnace. I am posting this review as a rebuttal to the review left by Robert S. My situation was very similar. My in-laws have been using Jacobson Heating & Cooling for about 20 years. They are an elderly couple and not as able to take care of things as they used to be, so I was the one to call and schedule service for their furnace a few weeks ago. I spoke with Tony on the phone and explained what was happening with the furnace. He was fairly certain it was the draft inducer, and quoted me an approximate price, however, he said the technician would know for sure once he looked at it and knew the entire model number of the furnace and part. Tony quoted the approximate cost of the part, plus tax and the service call. The service call was $79 for the first half hour and $25 every 15 minutes after that. Eric was our technician and he had been the tech the last four times the maintenance had been done. My in-laws knew him immediately and he greeted them by name and was very friendly. He quickly assessed the situation and determined the inducer was bad and needed to be replaced. He did state that the furnace was well over 20 years old, and suggested that maybe a replacement should be considered versus spending a lot of money on repairing an aging piece of equipment. Ultimately he left it up to us and said he would be more than happy to make the repair. A new unit isn’t in the budget right now so we went with the repair. He looked up the part and it was a little more than Tony suggested, but Eric showed us the difference between part prices as they vary from furnace to furnace. He installed the new motor in about 5 to 10 minutes, and had the furnace running perfectly fine. He also checked it over and did some light maintenance and changed the filter. He even reprogrammed the thermostat schedule for my parents and set a reminder for the filter. He was there for just under 45 minutes but only charged us the $79 plus the cost of the motor. We spent just over $400 or so and couldn’t be happier with the service. I feel like the previous reviewer just didn’t comprehend how the pricing works and how labor cost may change depending on the technician and difficulty of the repair, and I guarantee he spent way more at the other place he went to. I recommend Jacobson Heating & Cooling to anyone who asks me, and don’t hesitate to ask for Eric.

I have used Jacobson's before and have always been very happy with their service. I had them install a humidifier on my furnace last year (in December) and this summer I changed the filters getting ready for winter. Well since it has gotten cold I noticed that there was water on the floor by the furnace. So I called for service. Because I called on Friday and that was my one year anniversary for the install, there was no cost for him to come and show me how to replace the filter correctly. We had our furnace go out overnight so I called the company with the sticker on my furnace. They couldn't be at our house for at least 24 hours. It was 1° outside, and our house temperature was dropping fast. So we called Jacobson. We had used them in the past at our old house. They said they'd be there that afternoon! I met the service tech Tony at my house. He quickly diagnosed the problem and replaced the broken part. He then cleaned up some other components within the furnace to ensure it keeps running well. After answering a few of my questions Tony was on his way to his next call and I was on my way back to work. It took maybe an hour. I was very pleased with the service and will call them first the next time I need some heating and cooling work done.

Very pleased with the installation of a new furnace & A/C by BJ & Armando. The new A/C was larger and required removing some patio blocks and landscaping rocks for a new & larger base.. Armando explained what needed to be done and he did an excellent job of removing the blocks which were frozen together, carefully cutting a trim board and making the new installation fit into the landscaping very neatly. When they were finished BJ explained everything that they had done and patiently answered all my questions. All their work was very neatly done and they did such a good job of cleaning up that even my wife was satisfied.

This past weekend, the hottest and most humid week in 3 years, the AC went out when we were at a wedding reception on Saturday night. We tried to make it through Sunday, but it was too hot. He gave me a written estimate of 445.00$ to clean blower wheel,labor only, and 676.00$ to replace combustion motor. In 2012 I had them install a new furnace and AC unit. They did a great job. In May of this year I turned on the AC and no cooling. I called them and the gal who answered asked for my address and said you have a 10 year parts and labor warranty. I did not have to remind them or ask. She said someone will be out that day to look at it. The service tech. filled it with coolant and put some dye in it. He said run it and call back in 2 weeks and we will see where the dye comes out. Called them back the person that answered was like waiting for my call and knew what was going on. The service tech came out found the leak and said he would order the part. 3 days later he came out fixed me up and said it was all covered. A great team they kept me cool fixed it no hassle. They scheduled the service calls so I did not take time off work and sit around waiting for them to show up. I will use them again for personal and if anything goes wrong at the business I will call.

If you are contemplating calling Jacobson's for service work, Install or any other service -- do yourself a favor and just DO IT! Dont waste your time calling other companys because I can assure you - you will not get the service, response time and quality of work that Jacobson's provides. I called every company in Grand Rapids and no one was as quick and polite as them. Jeff was incredibly nice, upfront and honest about the situation. (I had a fuel oil furnace take a dump in a 100+ year old house) He quoted me a price that day and was completely open about converting my old house with a Michigan basement to propane. Once I made a decision about them earning my business they had a install crew (Greg, Grant and Mark) to my house in about 48 hours. Seriously. Those guys KILLED IT!!! The Electrical, the propane piping, hiding caping and tucking away the old fuel oil lines EVERYTHING is perfect. The duct work the clean up the friendliness was just over the top. I literally couldn't have asked for better work. As a customer it just goes to show they do jobs as if it is their own house. Bravo To everyone at Jacobson -- Thank you all so much. I came home to a 67° house tonight and it was the best feeling in the world. You have earned my business for life -- Thanks again.

When our furnace went out, we first called Vredevoogd and they came out and told us the heat exchanger was cracked and we would be better off replacing the unit. Although we are first time home buyers, their quote seemed overly high. We had Jacobson come out and they gave us a quote that was over $1000 less. I was reassured that they would do all the extras that Vredevoogd would have done (Install water pan, sensor, piping, etc.) They were able to install a new unit the same day, and we actually got a free upgrade since they were out of stock of the one we selected. We were very pleased with their service and how quickly they were able to help us out. My only complaint would be that there were maybe a dozen or so screws left on the basement floor from attaching the new drip line to the joists. Not a huge deal, just a slight lack of attention to detail.

Ed D. Prompt, attentive, professional service. Called Jacobson at 8:00 am b/c our furnace stopped working last night around 7:00 pm. The appointment was set for the technician (Dave D) to arrive between 12:30 - 1:00 pm. Dave arrived on time at 12:40. Dave figured out the problem & had the repair made quickly. Dave pointed out that the 'inducer' noise was louder than it should be. Sometimes an inducer will continue working even though it gets louder over time. B/c we were going to be gone for part of the winter, I wanted the peace of mind that the inducer wasn't going to fail when we were away. Dave agreed and after further investigation, found out that replacing the part was under warranty. Dave had the parts on the truck and in a short amount of time the new part was installed. Thank you for providing us with excellent service, Dave. Jacobson.... you're the best!

1/11/018 Follow up review on my now 2 year old Daikin furnace by Jacobson Heating and Cooling. I had a small issue with the new furnace where it would not go into Hi heat mode and was flashing out an error code on the diagnostic LED. I called Jacobson and they came right out. It turned out to be a bit of an elusive problem but they never gave up until they got it fixed. Tony from Jacobson came out and replaced the computer board and a dual pressure switch and that seems to have fixed the problem. Once again Jacobson has impressed me with their commitment to quality service and putting the customer first. Thank you to Bernie, Kevin and of course Tony for your efforts to take care of this. I recommend Jacobson Heating and Cooling for any HVAC work you may need done. 2/18/2016 I just had my 24 year old furnace replaced with a new Daikin furnace by Jacobson. Also had a new Aprilaire humidifier installed at the same time. I watched these two guys Kelly and Matt perform the work and I could not be more impressed with the quality and pride with which they did the work. They did a fantastic job. They rolled out protective rugs over the entire pathway from the entrance door, down the carpeted stairs and on to the utility room in the basement. Every cut of the sheet metal or PVC pipe was precise and square. They took great care to get everything lined up square and level. While their quote came in a few hundred bucks over some other quotes I got on this job, it was more than worth it for the quality job they did. They were also able to get the job done sooner than any of the other quotes, which mattered to us since the old furnace was broken and it was only 8 degrees outside the morning of the installation. Thank you Jacobson! I recommend you to anyone that needs HVAC work done.

We have used Jacobsons in the past. They did a stellar job installing a new air conditioner a few years ago. So we used them again this year when we needed a new gas line run from our meter to our pool house for a new pool heater installation. They did a fantastic and clean job with the installation. We were having issues getting the furnace lit initially, Jacobsons came out to troubleshoot and Matt found that flex tubing that was initially installed (not by Jacobsons) was the wrong kind (causing all of our lighting issues). So while they were there for a follow up call, they went ahead and corrected that issue as well. I REALLY appreciate Jacobsons "staying all over it" until the job is done and everything is functioning as it should. They are VERY prompt (we had to use the "emergency service" and that was VERY quick and efficient) and their customer service is wonderful. One of the techs, Dan, even gave us some pointers about removing brush around our air conditioner, and a few other tips unrelated to our current service that would help create better performances for our air conditioner and furnace! :-) We will DEFINITELY use Jacobsons in the future - and you should too!!

I recently had Jacobson’s install a new furnace and central air unit. The price was comparable to other company’s quotes, it was installed in one day and looks much better. The salesman was thorough, however made snide remarks about the other companies who had already given me quotes and had an overall condescending demeanor. My frustration came when it did not pass inspection. I received no sort of communication from them as to what was going on with the failed inspection. After three weeks of not hearing anything I contacted them as was told it could take a while. Then the following day I received a call from my salesman, not asking if everything was working fine, but looking for payment. I explained that I was waiting to make payment when the inspection was approved and also that my prior day phone call I was told it could take a while. Apparently that put a light in their fire because the inspection was then approved within two days. The lack of communication left something to be desired but the system is working well and I am overall satisfied.

Had water leaking from my furnace and decided to try and fix it myself. Bad move! While banging on a stuck screw on the front door panel, the furnace turned completely off!
