I found out from my neighbor that her basement flooded due to the hot water heater leaking. A few days before that I’d received an email from Grapids with a coupon for a $50 price for a water heater flush. Since I’d moved into this condo a little over a month ago and didn’t know the condition of my water heater and didn’t look forward to any mishaps, I decided to call Grapids.
Brandon came to my house to do the water heater flush. After checking the date on it, he explained why it couldn’t be done due to the age…14 years old. But he did check out the condition of the heater by removing a part so that he could take pictures of the corrosion and deterioration of the heater. In the midst of all this he helped me find our cat when he saw how upset was- thinking the cat had run off while the door was opened. That relaxed me enough to listen to what he was telling me…he had my undecided attention.
After speaking with Brandon’s supervisor and coming to an agreeable cost to replace the heater, plans were made for replacement the very next day. The Grapids techs were here at the exact promised time and were informative and professional from the beginning. They covered their shoes and the floor from the entrance to the utility room. They kept me informed regarding water shutoffs in case I needed to alert my building neighbors. They cleaned up after themselves and I have a new, performing, safe hot water heater and will wake up every morning knowing that I will have hot water.

What an amazing experience we’ve had with Grapids! From start to finish the process was wonderful. Todd came out within hours of calling to get a quote to upgrade our furnace and add AC to our home. Our furnace was over 20 years old functioning but a bit of a head scratcher. Additionally we needed to upgrade our electrical panel. Grapids was able to subcontract that for us too. Tyler and Eric came out the very next day (bright and early) and spent the day reconstruction our HVAC system. Prior to their arrival we decided to add a humidifier to the unit. The office was seemlessly able to add that to our work order. Todd swang back out to check in on the progress and make sure we were happy. Throughout the day several members of Grapid came through to bring supplies and check in. The stars of the show were definitely Tyler and Eric who worked until after 7pm to complete the HVAC job. They worked well together and I could overhear them as I graded papers upstairs. They treated each other with respect and humor. It was so refreshing to have work done in our home by such wonderful people. They even took the time to FaceTime with my husband who was at work to show the final product and answer all of his questions. Without hesitation I will recommend Grapids (specifically Todd, Tyler and Eric) to anyone!

These guys are the real deal. Their customer service is superb - everyone I spoke to was kind and communicative. The technicians were thorough and informative, and when they showed I had a crack in my furnace heat exchanger, had a consultant arrive within the hour to really work with me to get what is needed done with the budget I had. I'll update this review after I've had the installation, but if the professionalism I've seen so far is consistent, then it will be one of the best experiences I've had anywhere as a customer.
Update: the installers definitely exceeded my expectations. They arrived exactly on time, gave me a pretty accurate timeline, and were extremely nice and polite. Let me tell you: they are excellent craftsmen. Everything is mounted level, the cable and pipe runs are crisp. The attention to detail here is seriously impressive. Each question I asked was thoroughly answered and explained, and the major changes (such as exhaust holes in my home) and explanations for why things were being done a particular way were well communicated.
They really care about their customers and their work. I'm looking forward to continue working with them for many years to come!

Used Grapis Heating and Cooling after I got a promotional flyer in the mail, and I will say this, their tech guys were very good and thorough. They even manage to correct an AC issue I had with no extra charge.
I did need my water heater replaced, which the tech did confirm, but the quote was just too high based on my research . Maybe they offer a better quality water heater, or a better warranty program, etc, but tough to justify paying $1,000 more than a reputable competitor for a water heater install as a brand new home owner.
Not blaming the tech on the estimate, as I am sure he is just doing as instructed, but their estimates were on the high end. They also brought up the comfort advisor option to me but it was in no way pushy and he did give me a range as to what to expect.
So overall, great techs and service, but, ultimately it comes at a higher cost if you to get any major work done.

We found a gas leak in the flex line of our stove to the gas hookup. DTE recommended calling Grapids. I called them and within the hour a technician was at my house. He communicated before arriving as well. After inspecting the line, he ran to get supplies and was back to work on the line. The project was done within an hour. He was personable, professional and helpful with recommendations for next steps in our project. They were reasonably priced and great to work with. I highly recommend!

Grapids did a great job not only customizing the plan for me, being competitive, but also great customer service, follow through, electrical needs. Their techs were also so knowledgeable, personable and even went beyond in proactively putting in exhaust filter guards which I needed and a previous company never did (even though they did repairs for). I noticed around 8 pm on a Saturday that my furnace had stopped working and my home was becoming chilly.
A service person showed up by 9 pm with a pleasant disposition and energy ready for work despite the late hour on a weekend.
He was thorough, a good communicator, easy to interact with and got the necessary furnace repair done by 11 pm so that I was able to wake up to a warm home on Sunday morning.

I had a great experience beginning to end with Grapids Heating and Cooling. Brennan came to look at everything and confirmed some of our suspicions about our existing system. Erica came out to assess the situation for new equipment and helped us through the decision making process with her depth of knowledge. She took some of our concerns about existing ductwork seriously and had a follow up visit from Kevin the very next day. He took his time dismantling what he could and examining the existing conditions to give us peace of mind about installing new equipment on old infrastructure. We were even able to head off a few problems before we signed our agreement and got the install started. Nick and Connor were our primary installers, and it was obvious they took a lot of pride in their work. They were real pro’s and kept a really tidy work area. The installation ended up looking 100x better than I figured it would considering the tight space and wacky old house we live in. Spike was overseeing quality assurance/control and helped with some creative problem solving. He was out several times to make sure everything was being done right. The guys seemed to respect his experience and guidance and all made for a smooth process. Like I said, top to bottom a great experience. Maybe the best service professional experience I’ve had to date.

Are you kidding me...... My furnace broke down Saturday,I called them Monday around three pm.I had a excellent two team service duo come out and examine my 40 year old furnace.... unfixable..... I had a wonderful salesperson come out and gave me an estimate on a new furnace and air conditioner.We had a bargaining exchange , I felt good about it, by three o'clock Tuesday they had everything installed and ready to enjoy......24 hours. Nice service from a extremely pleasant staff from office worker to installers.

Kaleb performed an inspection on my furnace today 10/25. He explained to me everything he was checking. He used a camera and took video of the inside of the furnace and pointed out the deterioration of the inside. He vacuumed it out. My furnace is old w/o safety features that he mentioned are available today. After talking over options I agreed with Kaleb that instead of putting money into a 36 year old furnace it is time to replace it. The lack of safety features were a big concern to me. He asked if I had any questions throughout the inspection and I appreciated that. I give him 5 stars for his service, going over how the furnace works and how mine was not doing the job. Thanks Kaleb. He was nice to my dogs too!

They alsalso helped install a carbon monoxide detector that has a display on it. They also helped fix wiring in our AC that allowed us to use the fan option! Life changing!

He took the time to explain what he had to fix on our furnace. Very thorough. He was also a personable young man. I highly recommend Grapids. I even signed up for their annual HVAC maintenance plan. They will come out every 6 months to check up on our HVAC system and hot water heater.

Brandon came out because we were getting a water leak where the exhaust pipe attaches to the top of the furnace. He replaced the rubber boot w/ hose clamps with a PVC coupler and primer/ glue - it stopped the leak. My only issue is that approximately 4 weeks ago we had our winter furnace check and the tech didn’t notice the rust stains from the water leak. Brandon was great - very personable and anxious to make our experience positive!

We recently contacted GRapids Heating and Cooling to provide an estimate for replacing our failed 21-year old furnace, air conditioner, and old hot water heater.
Paul, the Comfort Consultant, was very pleasant and did an extensive analysis. He described the process and components clearly and patiently to us with professionalism. He then provided a very reasonable cost and we hired them.
Tyler, Andrew, Jackson, and Eric did the tearout and installation work the very next day. Working smoothly together and with good humor, they completed the project in one day, without taking a break. They were very focused and intent on doing an excellent job - and they did!
The tankless water heater required more venting that was nicely added. We were very pleased with the removal and installation - no clean-up after their work was required!
When minor tweaking of the system was requested later, Scott came the day we called to make the adjustments. He was very pleasant and professional. After a couple of weeks, Tyler came to further tweak the system to our great satisfaction. Also a very pleasant professional with whom to work.
We still had a few installation questions and contacted the installation manager, Spike. He kindly, patiently, and professionally listened and determined what was needed and made the arrangements. What a great boss he must be!
We are very pleased with GRapids workmanship, product, and service. And we will highly recommend them to friends and neighbors. Outstanding!

My furnace was acting up and I knew I had an old system including the AC that would need to be replaced at some point. GRapids was quick to come out when I called and were able to get me a next day install as well. GRapids did a great job of working with me to get the best value for my budget, they use quality materials and were very professional. We had a couple of minor aesthetic bits that I had them come back for but they were very quick to respond and resolved those quickly to ensure I was satisfied with my experience. I would certainly recommend GRapids in the future.

Got a coupon in the mail for a furnance tune-up from Grapids. Thought, hey I've never done that in 8 years of living here, I should probably get on that. A few days later Kaleb was out to look at the system. He provided a comprehensive break down of all suggested repairs and made sure I understood everything along the way. We both decided it was best to install a new system rather than try to repair an aging one (17+ years for both furnance and AC).
The very next day John R. is out at my house going over options with me and making sure I'm picking the right furnace and AC unit for our house, a process involving measuring square footage, windows, etc. John is at my house from about 5pm to 8:30pm making sure I'm getting what I need. He even managed to save me thousands of dollars on the furnance and AC package because I was willing to be flexible on scheduling. And when I mean flexible, I mean the very next day at 8:30am, less than 12 hours from ordering the system.
The installers (I'm sorry I can't remember the names) came the next day and worked an almost 12 hour day, tearing out the old furnance and AC and installing the new one. And at the end of this 12 hour day, on a Friday mind you, they still took time to go over the system with me and make sure I understood how to work different things. Absolutely incredible service from everyone involved, from the initial repair technician, to the salesperson, to the installers.
Now, did I spend too much money? Probably. A little over 17k. But, the service and product provided made me confident in the fact that I was dealing with a company/people that were going to stand behind their product and be ready to assist me should I have any issues for the life of my new furnance and AC. In my mind, that's worth the price premium. As a thank you, they even sent a cookie basket. My 3 year old definitely approved!

I used GRapids for DTE's $75 rebate program deal right now. I didn't know they currently do not do plumbing as far as being able to see if my shower valve is adjustable in order to turn it up. However, Hunter & his trainee LiLi we're very nice & had a straight forward visual they showed me as to what exactly they were going to be doing. About an hour & a half later they were done and gone. Thank you both for taking the time to understand my home & help my furnace from short cycling. Who knew I had to have all my registers open as about half were closed lol.

I was smelling something in the house so called the gas company. They came out and told me our furnace was pumping carbon monoxide into the house and they had to disconnect everything. It's Friday morning, its 12 degrees outside and we now have no heat.
I called a couple companies (this being my third one, I just went down a list). The first said we were out of their travel zone, the second couldn't come till Monday. Grapids was at my house by 3:30 on a Friday. We went through everything that was needed. Went through my expectations. We knew we needed everything replaced. It was not a cat and mouse game. We told them what we wanted and they delivered.
It is now Saturday, yes the next day Saturday, and they just left and we have heat again.
Two days with no heat in Feburary, in Michign is enough! They saw we had two small children and made it a priority to get heat back into our house.
Every person we came in contact with from this company was fantastic. I am really glad we ended up having them come out. They left the house clean and as spotless as when they came in.

We knowingly paid top dollar for what was expected to be top quality service. We had our furnace replaced, water heater replaced, and a new AC installed. The water heater’s gas line had a leak when they left (they didn’t perform gas leak test or bubble test upon installing new pipes), I had to ask for my 20 year old gas valves to be replaced (for some reason that isn’t standard on new installs for this company), they didn’t reseal the water heater exhaust vent (when they came back out after I called, they just put new silicone over the old, no cleanup), they didn’t seal the electrical wires leaving my basement going out to the new AC (it was behind the electrical box so maybe they didn’t think I’d notice?).
We made the installation as easy as possible. We removed the basement ceiling so they could easily run everything, we supplied them with water bottles, pop tarts, and individual bags of chips to keep morale up during their work day.
It should’ve been an easy 5-star customer. By no means am I a professional, which has me worried there’s plenty more wrong I didn’t catch. My friends mentioned they wouldn’t have noticed anything but the gas leak.
At this point, I wouldn’t recommend to family or friends.

2. That’s a junction with soapy water to show the gas leak they left the house with (you could easily smell it when you opened the door)
3. Behind the electrical shut off box, the hole with wires coming out from the house was not sealed
Update: all has been fixed and even follow up appointment to check the system for the 3 year service plan has already been performed. Good company, good employees, just a one-off experience if I had to attest to the original post.

Called Grapids after another company (which I will not name here) installed a new AC unit incorrectly and wouldn't honor their warranty and fix the issue. After weeks of trying to get in touch with the "other company" and failing, we finally decided to try Grapids. They answered the phones immediately and were able to come out and take a look at the system the next day. They had great communication leading up to the appointment and were able to identify and fix the issue quickly and painlessly. When all was said and done the prices for the fix were incredibly fair as well. Definitely more likely to use Grapids in the future versus going back to the "other company". Definitely recommend.

Had issues with our AC unit after experiencing a black out a day prior.
Made one call, and after being passed to someone else in the office they took my information and said someone would call within the next 30 mins, which they actually did.
We got scheduled for a tech to come out, and he arrived in the front of the time window we were told. Fixed the problem, explained what was the issue and how we could prevent it with some further upgrades, which he was also able to do right then and there.
Overall my experience with this company has been very good and you can tell they want to make sure they do a great job the first time and not rush through to get to the next one.
Would recommend to anyone who’s looking for repair work done.

We had a great experience with the installation of a replacement furnace, A/C, and hot water tank. The only thing keeping the overall experience from being 5 star, is the sales quote process. I had the same feeling as when you go to buy a new car, right down to the part where they have to go talk to the manager to get a price ok, and you know they are going to come back higher. Even if we got the beat price ever given, we felt like we had to work too hard for it, and it became adversarial with the salesman. Not the kind of experience I would want to duplicate, and who knows, I could have paid $1000 or $2000 more than the person they quoted the day before. The advertisement for Buy an A/C, get a free furnace isn’t the exact deal either, so the whole sales process leaves you feel dirty at the end of it. Hopefully the product is quality and works for years so we don’t have to go through all this again anytime soon.

The technician showed up within two hours of placing a call. He made an analysis of the system inside and out and was able to find the issue within a few minutes. He repaired the system, explaining his actions constantly. The house is now cooling down. He was professional and friendly.

I opted out of the service because of the cost. Not to say they are more expensive than other HVAC companies.. but most parts recommended for replacement are a fraction of the cost and can be ordered on Amazon.
Cleaning blowers, coils, pumps etc. are also far overpriced in the industry and an easy upsell for unaware homeowners.
Long story short I am doing the recommended work myself for $150 (including the diagnostic fee i paid GRCooling) compared to the quoted $2000. Again, great diagnostic, but seriously not worth the price gouging for maintenance and cleaning this industry is known for. I gave 4 stars knowing its an industry problem, not a company problem. They were professional, on time, and thorough.

We had Duncan from Grapids out to check on our HVAC system in March. He spent over an hour explaining our options to us and they were even able to have someone come out to repair the very next day (didn't work for us because we would be out of town). When our system began acting up in September, we called to have them come back out. Luke came out and was amazing at explaining to us what needed to be done with our unit. He said we would need someone to come out to quote us and we requested Duncan. Duncan again came out and went above and beyond what we could have ever expected at explaining to us yet again what to expect with Grapids service. After a rocky start and some dropped promises. I can say this. They are a bit higher priced yes. But the trade off is for a company that for the first time in my life, truly wants to make the customer happy. They have gone WAY ABOVE AND BEYOND in the long run. The install guys missed a few things that i found out a while later. I called explained what had happened. Within 24 hours they did what should have happened on day one along with ALOT extra to make me as a customer feel whole. Not only were they out and fixed a faulty ignition with in a hour of calling but sent out extra techs the next day to do duct work FREE. I can not say it enough. Yes they are more expensive. The value added services are well worth the money.

We were having issues with our water heater right before Thanksgiving and Grapids was able to get a tech out the same day to diagnose. Tanner was the technician who came out and was very professional and timely with the work he was doing at our home. We needed a new heating coil, which they do not carry in their van, so I assumed it’d be a long lead time, but they’re actually able to get the component and come out to do the swap the next day. With this being right before Thanksgiving I was nervous about how quickly we’d be able to get this taken care of, but fortunately Grapids is coming in clutch to save the day. We ended up buying their service plan for $15/month as well as they wave the inspection fees and come out twice a year to check the A/C, water heater, and furnace. Very impressed with our experience so far and would highly recommend!

Grapids did an awesome job and far exceeded my expectations. Our A/C went out on a Sunday night, The after hours receptionist t took my info, and later Sunday night Grapids contacted me stating they would be to my house in the morning. The tech was there at 8:15AM Monday, and explained the issue with my old system and options to resolve it. I choose to talk to a sales rep, who came out an hour later. The Grapids salesperson, David, did a very nice job explaining the many options in systems and financing options with a no pressure delivery. Knowing my system was going to need to be changed out in the near future, I choose to do it all at once, as well as the 19 yr old water tank. To my surprise, they could do it the next morning. Tuesday morning at 8AM, the team arrived. After a short tour of the furnace area, they gave me an estimated time they would be done. They quickly went to work, and did a fantastic job of protecting our home from any damage or messes that typically can happen doing this work. What I really loved was how they definitely thought of how to lay out the new system and the why's. The furnace and water tank area has a much cleaner look to it, and is easier to get around then in the past. It took almost 12hrs, but they finished near the time they estimated. Even though it was a long, hot day for everyone. They did not leave until all my questions and concerns addressed. A few hours later our home was cool as can be.
Everyone at Grapids should be commended with their ability to communicate with the customer. At no time, was I left hanging on any of my open questions. Their ability to respond and attention to detail were fabulous. We are very pleased.

Justin came out and was thorough and professional. Sadly, GRapids value seems lacking compared to others in the area. They want an extra $30 to clean the flame sensor - it takes 30 seconds, others include it in their service. Also, the price to clean the blower seems out of line with others I've had service with in the past.
Justin called out everything that may go wrong soon with my very old system, did a fantastic job. There were no surprises beyond GRapids prices. I will be re-examining who I get my annual maintenance service from to see if others are, as I suspect, still including some of these services in their annual maintenance contract.

We had Grapids install a heating and cooling system in our home, new duct work had to be added throughout and the attic was also done it was a remodel so not an easy job. Spike was our installer and he did a fantastic job! He was on time and extremely conscious of doing good work. He cleaned up after he left for the day too! The building inspector actually emailed Grapids to let them know what an excellent install Spike did and told us that it was refreshing to see such a great job, that made us feel good as we were not at the house when the install was completed. I would highly recommend Grapids and Spike. Since the install, we have had a few issues with equipment we have been working to resolve, but so far Grapids has worked with us to ensure everything is getting taken care of and they send out service quickly. When we call the office the staff is incredibly friendly and willing to help us with any questions. We signed up for the service plan and that is working out great to ensure our system is running at its best. I am glad they offer the program to protect our investment.

We had a very good experience. Grapids was recommended to us by a neighbor so we decided to give them a call. Paul, the service technician, was very thorough in his assessment and was very helpful in explaining the issue and how we can better maintain the equipment going forward. He also gave us a few different options of what could be done - depending on how much we were able to spend on repairs. There was a glitch in the system and we got charged the non-member price even though we had signed up for the membership program. I gave the office a call in the morning and just inquired about this - - they immediately looked into it and the manager called me back and apologized about the glitch and said that the issue had been resolved. They credited the $110 back to our card and sent us an updated invoice. It was a very simple process and they were very personable and also professional in their service. We would definitely recommend Grapids to our friends.

We have a service plan and a rep from the company comes to our home regularly to check our water heater, furnace and A/C unit. Each person that has done this has always been very thorough and helpful with their feedback. We recently decided to switch out all three units since they were passed their suggested length of life and we figured it would be a better deal in the long run. The rep spent a lot of time with us going through our options and even suggested things that would work for us, that were less expensive than what we had estimated, based on what we really needed. The crew was great - very professional, did good work and cleaned up very nicely. They were in a bit of a hurry at the end of the day so missed a couple of things: missed turning on the water heater, forgot to uncover the smoke detector in the furnace room after they were done restarting the furnace (but we caught it late that night) , and they installed the wrong thermostat. We called about the water heater later that night and the person on call was very kind and talked us through everything with the new system and even offered to come to the house if needed. But it was a quick fix. The next day a rep came and quickly installed the right thermostat - it was no problem at all. We are happy with this company and the customer service. We definitely recommend their services.

We are on their monthly service plan and our furnaceis 11 years old. Mitch first texted to let me know when he would be arriving and I had chance to find out if he was okay with dogs which was super helpful. He did a thorough check and found a problem with the ignitor and something else to watch. No pressure in any way to do either immediately, but I did opt to replace ignitor which he was able to do that day. Very polite and clean cut and I was completely comfortable having him work in my home.

I cancelled a appointment with another large (unnamed) company who bait and switched me. They said they’d inspect for $76... I signed up (new home owner) and then they informed me they couldn’t repair my furnace until December.
I called Grapids, they were helpful, respectful, and punctual.
I’ll be using them for a long time. Go with them. I’m a new home owner (25 yrs old) and am learning the ropes. He explained everything and confirmed my suspicions.

This place is Amazing! Ryan came out to look at our furnace and he was so friendly and helpful! He was very honest about the status of our furnace and made sure my questions were answered! Then Dave came out to help us get a new furnace because ours was not worth putting money into. We also decided to get a new air conditioner because we have had problems with that in the past! He was so helpful and the best part was none of them were pushy at all! Then Spike and Andy came out to do the install and they were so friendly and very efficient! I could go on all day about this place but I will just say I highly recommend them to anybody who needs a furnace or air conditioner! Plus when I called, Julie was so helpful in setting up an appointment and they set up the install the next day so we didn't freeze! Amazing prices and amazing people!

It is all in the service and commitment to make it right and Grapids did that! We had an issue with our humidifier not working correctly, I called Grapids and techs were sent out promptly to look at the problem. This mechanical issue took 3 service calls to correct but Grapids did not give up. The Install Manager Spike was determined to fix the issue and make it right. He came out after two prior service attempts and fixed it!! Spike kept us informed and put us at ease. The team at Grapids are courteous and professional. He was extremely knowledgeable and explained exactly what was wrong with our unit. We opted for a new AC/furnace. The crew arrived on time and immediately got to work. They respected our home by protecting the floors and cleaning up once the job was done. The crew explained how to work the thermostat as well as the different components to the furnace downstairs.
