My experience with Paragon was outstanding. My hot water heater died and I had no hot water. Kevin came out same day to provide an estimate. He was thoughtful and thorough to find the best option. It’s refreshing to get an estimate from someone who has extensive experience doing the work. Matt was the technician who installed our new unit. I can’t say enough great things about his professionalism, technical skills and customer service. If I could give more than five stars, I would!

This is my third time using Paragon Mechanical. Two prior times for air conditioning repairs, this time for a complete boiler replacement in my 100 year old house. Everyone at Paragon was professional with clear, on-going communication. Steve P and Marci at the office were prompt in diagnosing and scheduling the work needed. Ralph, John, and Matt were on-time for the installation and did a great job. I would recommend Paragon for any heating or cooling work you need.

I am a first-time homebuyer and wanted to make sure my HVAC system was in good working condition after moving into my new home. A friend recommended that I use Paragon (she's used them for many years). After reading their many other positive reviews, I took my friend's recommendation and scheduled a system audit. The technician arrived on time and was friendly and courteous, and his audit was very thorough. He found an issue with my furnace that required replacement and took the time to show me the issue and explain why a repair wasn't recommended. He patiently answered all of my questions during his visit. I called Paragon the next day to schedule installation of a new furnace. I was easily able to get someone on the phone. Steve walked me through the process of replacing my furnace vs. replacing both the furnace and AC and quickly sent me quotes for both options. He answered all of my questions, was polite and courteous and professional, and was easy to reach via both phone and email. I had the new system installed the following week, and the installation technicians were again prompt and courteous. They found some surprises when removing my old furnace and were able to remedy that during the install of my new furnace as well. Paragon offered a financing option that made it easier for me to take on this unexpected expense, and their invoice and online payment system is straightforward and easy to use. Overall, working with them was a very pleasant/positive experience. I'm glad I took my friend's recommendation and would definitely recommend them as well.

Paragon Mechanical Inc has been our go to company for all our HVAC needs for the last 5 to 7 years. Right from installation, repairs and service, all their employees are professional, prompt and the quality of their service is exceptional. Jim one of their technician who came to fix our roof top unit this Tuesday was just phenomenal. It was extremely hot that day and he fixed our unit which is on the top floor of our building. Without any fuss or complaining he just did his job with a smile. Kudos to him.

UPDATE: I just had an opportunity to speak with the owner, Steve, and he apologized for what was fundamentally a miscommunication and made it right. I appreciate his response to my original review and the way he handled this situation, and am updating my review accordingly. As noted, Paragon does high quality work and, based on the responsiveness and care for customer satisfaction demonstrated in this case, I would be happy to use them again in the future. Original review: I rarely leave less than positive reviews, but in this case, I feel compelled to do so. I had a high opinion of Paragon since they installed our HVAC system in a new construction house six years ago and I thought they did a very good job. I recently had an issue where our landscapers accidentally knocked the Honeywell temperature sensor off the fence where it was hanging and it suffered some physical damage, allowing water intrusion. This resulted in intermittent operations and frequent notices from the main thermostat saying that the sensor needed to be replaced. I called Paragon to get it replaced and they came out when my wife was at home. The notes left by the technician said that they adjusted the batteries and the sensor seemed to be working fine. Further, the tech "explained to the customer the placement of the batteries are [sic] very important." Not only was this condescending, but they also did not fix the issues, despite the damage to the sensor being quite apparent. Nonetheless, they charged us $240 for the visit. Since the errors continued to occur (even with the technician's "adjusted" batteries), I ended up having to buy a $65 replacement sensor online and then figure out the installer code to get it on my system, which I did. No issues since. To sum it up, Paragon showed up, did nothing, was condescending, and charged us $240, and I still had to pay for and install a new sensor myself. They keep sending me bills, but I'm refusing to pay because they wasted MY time. I should be the one charging them.

Bert was very helpful, came in and fixed the problem in an hour flat. Clearly knew what he was doing and had the expertise that many others do not. My tankless water heater stopped working and and I called multiple places for assistance, all of them said no and one laughed me off. Paragon said they were able to do it and I am happy to have the Bert and Paragon assist us so quickly.

Don did a great job installing a Nest Hello video doorbell for us. We have an intercom system that Nest formally doesn't support. After showing Don a youTube video of how someone was able to install it on a Nutone system, he was able to adapt that for our M&S Systems intercom. Most companies/electricians wouldn't even attempt this kind of install and troubleshooting. So our Nest Hello rings not just our phones and Google Home minis, but the house intercom system speakers! This is exactly what I and other intercom owners want with Nest Hello. Thanks.

Reached out to Paragon through Nest. They were listed on the site as an authorized expert for installation of the Nest Hello Doorbell. Contact with the office was easy and the gentleman who assisted was very nice. Set up appointment and follow up communication with email and text of appointment and who the service technician would be with picture! The best was the service I received from Don J. the tech. He called me when he was on his way. Installation went smoothly. I needed a small upgrade to my doorbell to accommodate the Nest Hello and he was prepared with what was needed. Don J. was very knowledgeable about the product and was great at explaining things to me to be sure I would be able to use my new doorbell without a problem. I love my Nest Hello and will be buying another to install at a side door. I will be calling Paragon again and asking for Don J!

After doing the traditional interview/bidding, I selected Paragon. Honestly, they've been around forever, and came up in the search for tankless water heaters, and I had never even heard of them. Happy to have found them! I had a 20 year old water heater that's been on its last legs since we moved in, and finally replaced it with the tankless. Kevin came and bid the project and spent quite a bit of time looking around (and also diagnosed real {not saleman} issues with our furnace - ugh). They install a couple types, and are on the same same pricing level as the other businesses. He gave options, which I liked. Then, Scott and Nate came out for the install. Flawless. They were on time, very courteous, and answered all my questions. They neatly fit everything into the chaos of an old house basement in about 4.5 hours, which is less than I had planned. I'd highly recommend Paragon if you're thinking tankless. We're very happy with the install, and the product they suggested.

Paragon was great from start to finish. Great communication before their visit, and the Tech, Chris, was fantastic. We had an issue with our Nest thermostat which ended up needing some rewiring of the boiler electric. Chris did some fast troubleshooting, rewiring, testing, and we were back in business pronto. Chris was extra-responsive to my persistent questions, explained everything carefully, and was still done within an hour. I hope we never need their services again, but if we do, I'll definitely call Paragon.

Paragon may not be the least expensive but I trust that it will be quality work, they will stand behind their work and they will do what needs to be done without recommending anything that doesn't need to be done.

Cory S. was fantastic. I had an issue with my common wire and low voltage wiring of my HVAC to my Nest thermostat causing short cycling. I didn’t feel comfortable with the electrical and called Paragon, which was recommended by the Nest support website. The office folks were responsive and set up an appointment with fast turnaround. Cory was punctual and quickly addressed the problem without further issue or attempting to diagnose other “problems”. I respected his thoroughness, efficiency and honesty. I chose Paragon after reviewing three bids for my 32-year-old boiler. These guys are the boiler experts - I felt confident after talking initially to Kevin and Andre, and went with them despite the slightly higher bid. Scott was the lead on the install supported by Danny - both were outstanding. On day 1, starting at 7:30 am, they removed the old boiler and replaced it with a Burnham boiler. On day 2, they re-did the piping, added the new bells and whistles, and then finished up most of the work before they left at 6 pm. Scott's demeanor was excellent as was his professionalism; same for Danny. After they left, we noticed some issues with the system pressure. Scott came back that night (Friday night) and then again on Sunday to ensure the system was working. They knew right away what was to be done - and came in Monday and re-configured the system for optimal performance. Our system has a lot of nuances, different types of heating systems, etc. - all in a 100+ year old house! I recommend Paragon - but most importantly, get Scott and Danny to do the install - they are terrific.

He then performed a maintenance inspection and checkup on my 32 year old boiler, advising me on the current and potential issues with the various components. We have hired Paragon Mechanical for both installation of a Nest Thermostat and for service on our furnace. The Nest Installation: The first thing you will experience working with Paragon is how buttoned up they are before the visit. In the initial call, I was asked a number of questions about the thermostat we were replacing and it’s wiring in order to ensure the tech had everything he needed for the installation. A couple of days before we received a reminder call about the appointment. And, we were called when the tech was on his way and also sent an email so we knew what he looked like. The visit was within the window scheduled and the technician, Elliott arrived when promised. He was able to get the Nest up and running without any issues and took the time to explain its features and check how it worked with our furnace. We were impressed enough with him and Paragon to have them back when we needed our furnace serviced. Based on our positive experience, we scheduled a service call to make sure our furnace was in good shape for the winter and we had Paragon our to help with an issue we were experiencing with the humidifier on our furnace. It was backing up in the filter and the tech changed the filter and also replaced the igniter in the furnace. One issue I had noticed when the Nest was installed was that the furnace room was significantly warmer than the room next to it. I assumed that this was just due to the small size of the furnace room and didn’t think much of it. Soon after this, we began experiencing an issue with a leak from our building roof and we also noticed some warping in the floorboards in the kitchen next to the furnace room. We brought in service that identifies causes of leaks and for the floorboard issue, he felt the heat difference in the furnace room was causing the issue with the floorboards. He made a couple of suggestions about sealing up the furnace and switching the direction of the vents to prevent the warm air from blowing directly on the floor. I was able to switch the vent direction myself but I needed a furnace expert for the other repairs. I was able to get in touch with Paragon’s General Manager Steve to discuss the issue and see what suggestions he might have. I was concerned that the temperature difference I noticed from before the first visit might have missed a potential issue that needed to be addressed. Steve was great and scheduled one of his senior techs, Chris, to come out to check on the furnace and the temperature issue. Chris sealed up the furnace to minimize anywhere the air was escaping. He looked at the airflow in the room and made some suggestions to help address the issue with the room being warmer (we need to add an outtake vent) and also explained why we were experiencing the issues we had. Chris was extremely thorough and answered every question I had about the furnace, our water heater and the issues we might be having with the vent configuration based on how the building was built. The last point was discussing why the air flow was not as strong in the rooms furthest away and some ways to maximize the temperature better like running the fan every hour for a few minutes while we were awake. I have been very impressed with Paragon Mechanical and especially how the General Manager Steve addressed the concerns I had. Their focus was making sure we were satisfied with their work and that all of our issues and concerns were addressed. We definitely will be working with Paragon for all of our future HVAC needs and highly recommend them.

Contact over the phone was easy and received a quote, installation/billing explanation, and scheduled appointment all within 5-10 mins. Day of installation was pretty smooth. Once on-site and a brief look at my wiring situation, the tech immediately knew what approach to take and had the Nest all wired up ready to go. We have a pretty old furnace (roughly 22 years old) and a Nest thermostat. On one of the coldest days of the year, we woke up, the house was freezing, and there was an error message on the Nest saying that there was insufficient power going to the Nest. After working through the recommended troubleshooting methods and calling Nest customer service to no avail, I decided that most likely the problem was the 22 year old furnace and not the 3 month old Nest thermostat. I called the company that normally cleans and checks our furnace, which was just the company the prior owners that lived in our house used, and after dong some tests he told us that the problem did in fact appear to be the thermostat, that it was broken and unfixable, then also declared for completely unrelated reasons that the furnace was unsafe and told us that we needed to purchase a new high efficiency furnace, humidifier, and air conditioner (even though he never looked at the latter two, but after all, they were old, and MUST not be in working condition), and of course a new thermostat. Needless to say, before moving forward with anything this guy was trying to sell we decided to get a second opinion. I decided to contact someone with some familiarity with Nest thermostats, I was convinced it wasn’t broken because it was giving us a specific error message and the display was still working. The highest recommended place on the Nest website for our area was Paragon, and they didn’t disappoint. They correctly diagnosed the problem with the Nest after just hearing it on the phone, and the service technician was able to come over a few hours later and fix it. He also checked our furnace and told us he felt it was safe. Even though our furnace is old and likely needs replacing soon anyways, we were glad to know that we didn’t need to rush into doing so. Paragon really exceeded our expectations and did an excellent job when we were in desperate need.

I had Paragon out in October of 2015 for a second opinion/estimate on a new furnace, a/c unit and digital thermostat. Kevin was very up front and honest with me- the previous company that said I needed $8000 of new equipment was wrong- I really only needed about $300 worth of parts/labor to fix an issue with my furnace. I appreciated his honesty, and told him I would prefer to have Paragon fix the furnace and install the thermostat. Before Kevin left, I mentioned that my 8 year old hot water heater was getting really loud when it ran. After taking a quick look, Kevin said that the water heater was going to become an issue- it was at the end of it's working lifespan. Two neighbors in my building had just replaced their water heaters urgently after they stopped working, so I didn't want to have the same thing happen to me. He discussed replacing it with a standard heater or going tankless, and I chose tankless for the convenience and also to add more storage space in the closet where the water heater is located. A couple weeks later Scott and Doug came out and spent an entire day fixing the furnace, installing the new thermostat, removing the old water heater and installing the new tankless heater. They were very professional, and did a great job. It's been about a year, and I am very happy with the tankless heater and digital thermostat. Great investments. I plan on using Paragon for all of my future maintenance needs and have already recommended them to my neighbors.

I found Paragon via Lochinvar’s (my boiler manufacturer’s) website and I’m glad I did. My system has never been quite right so Chris came out to assess it. He thoroughly explained how it should work and what could be done to make the system run better—mostly small adjustments rather than costly additions and repipings. Chris definitely knows his stuff and was quick to offer solutions without simply bashing the previous contractor. He showed up on time and the pricing was thoroughly explained ahead of time.

Steve was great to work with to understand the process of getting a Nest thermostat installed, all the way up to helping with the rebates, and Chris was awesome to have onsite to do the install. He clearly knew what he was doing and took pride in his work. He left the site cleaner than he found it, and even took a quick look over the equipment the Nest was connected to and reminded us to consider changing the filter — a good catch. If you have the right wires and feel comfortable with wiring, you might do the Nest install yourself. Without them, get these guys to do it. Plus, you can trust that a NestPro is going to get it right, and you don't want a mistake with your heating and cooling. Cost is just over $200 for a basic install, plus additional time and equipment if needed. Highly recommended!

Chris was the technician who came to help us during the Polar Vortex! We placed a service call to Paragon and Chris arrived at our house in about an hour on the coldest day since 1968. Our Rinnai ventless water heater was leaking profusely. Chris diagnosed the problem quickly, and noted that our lawn irrigation system was not properly weatherized for winter, resulting in water continuing to run through our plumbing system as he attempted to shut it down. Then he outlined our options for repair or replacement of our water heater, and asked if we were having any other problems. It just happened that our radiant heat system was behaving a bit erratically, so he looked over that as well. He noted a couple of issues and even showed me how to override the thermostats if I needed to. Chris was friendly and informative, saying "I could talk about these systems for hours." I have nothing but great things to say about Paragon Mechanical, Inc. My NEST Thermostat died on me, due to a missing "common" wire at 10:00p on a Sunday night. I called Paragon the next morning, after not hearing back from a competing HVAC company. I am so glad that the competition never called me back. When I called Paragon, I spoke to someone right away. I was not having to work my way through an automated message system. They were able to send out a technician that day, and I did not have to suffer a snow storm Monday evening, without heat. Doug Dienelt was our technician and I couldn't be more pleased with his professionalism, his knowledge, and his personality. Doug ran a new "common" wire from our thermostat to our basement without any issues, and was able to fix the problem quickly. Doug was in and out of our home in less than an hour. Called Paragon for my Noritz tankless water heater that was giving a error code. They sent out Burt and he found the issue fast and got the hot water going again. Get got the parts and repair covered under warranty. I had a great experience and highly recommend Paragon.

PM sent Chris Solomianko out on 05/08/2020 to diagnose and repair a Noritz tankless water heater that had stopped working some days prior. Chris was an absolute rock-star professional. He arrived promptly, followed superb social distancing protocol with a facemask and gloves, provided me with valuable information and feedback about the status of the heater and was wicked quick with repairing the unit. All in all the work was completed at just under 1 hour and I am beyond satisfied with his work, professionalism, courtesy and his advice. I had a new furnace and water heater installed a few weeks ago. I requested estimates/proposals from several companies, among those Four Seasons, ARS, Sears Home Services and Abt. I picked Paragon Mechanical to do the job. Why? Kevin Polka responded at 6:30 am to an email request I sent the previous night. He kept communication over my preferred channel - email, unlike others, who insisted on a phone call. He came to my house twice, patiently explaining available options and answering questions. We were able to negotiate a solution that was competitively priced, yet it included advanced Trane and Rheem equipment. Installation scheduling was prompt and easy. On the day of the installation, the technicians Doug and Don arrived as scheduled, and went about their work as an experienced team. They were responsive and knowledgeable in answering questions and explaining details. Equipment delivery and old-equipment removal was well organized - a couple of other folks showed up to help. They all protected the flooring and the interior of the house. Doug and Don completed the work in the early afternoon. They ran tests to ensure that everything works as expected. They explained the company's service plan and answered all additional equipment and warranty questions. All paperwork was completed and signed electronically. No immediate payment was required, and no unexpected charges were added. I was billed by the company a couple of weeks later, and the invoices were sent both electronically and by mail. Kevin is great! We have known Kevin for 5 years and he has been very service oriented. Our waterless tank heater was not working so we found ourselves with no hot water first thing Saturday morning. We called Kevin and he came right over to fix the problem. We got hot water right away. He told us what the problem was. Since we have had our waterless tank heater since they came out, I suggested that we get a back-up system. Kevin suggested we wait and that he would be back on Tuesday to see if it was still working. Installing a nest thermostat may not be as easy as it seems. In the middle of installation, we noticed an extra wire and called nest. They suggested we call a pro. If you have or want a tankless heater call Paragon. Tankless heaters are wonderful but can be finicky and have to be installed correctly. Most plumbers have no or very little experience with tankless, and experience is crucial. We were told by two different plumbers that our Eternal water heater, only 3 yrs old, wouldn't be serviceable at all because the company went out of business and parts aren't available. Paragon found the problem (a clogged condensate trap) and checked the rest of our setup for $300 when other companies told us it would have to be replaced, costing us thousands. I won't call anyone but Paragon in the future. Chris was very nice, honest, and explained and showed me things as he went which I appreciated. There was no pressure to replace the current unit which we had from other plumbers.

GREAT COMPANY! I highly recommend these guys. Paragon has installed Furnaces and Air Conditioners for me at two different locations (AWESOME). They just installed a Tankless Water Heater (1-10-18). The room it saves is substantial. The guys got there around 9:30am. They surveyed the old hot water tank and its piping. The house was built in the mid 50's, so the repiping was extensive. After numerous years of sub-par service, we began searching for a company that believed as we do, that we should strive for excellence in all that we do. INCREDIBLE & SKILLED SERVICE! My AC broke on a boiling hot Tuesday and I had guests coming in on Thursday. Paragon shifted their schedule to accommodate a Tuesday visit. Issue turned out to be a wiring issue, which was fixed and tested and confirmed to work all within the first hour. Additional issues were discovered (just bought the house and who knows how well the last people took care of things), and explained clearly, made sense, and recommendations made.
