I had a contract in the past with your company and decided to cancel the contract due to poor service. But, I decided to give you guys another try and I'm thankful I did!!! Derrick Tillson was absolutely amazing. He worked hard to ensure my A/C was back up and running. In addition, he took out time to explain the required maintenance on my end and even gave me hints to remember. For example, he said, every month when you pay your power bill, change out your filter. I thought that is GREAT and I will now remember to change my filters. In fact, I went and bought a pack of 4 so I have no excuses. In addition, he introduced me to the MERV rating and explained the importance of this in relation to the function of my filter! Lastly, I'm a nurse and he said if I didn't change my filters I would burn out the heart to my AC....yep that caught my attention.

I called several places on a Thursday afternoon and chose Aux because they had a reasonable trip fee and were able to send someone out first thing Friday morning. Derrick was conscientious and polite. My husband came by later and was impressed by how friendly, knowledgeable, industrious, and thorough Derrick was. They were excellent at explaining everything step by step so that I understood all that they would be doing. They located the leak quickly and were very courteous and kind. During the checkup, there was an issue with one of my GFCI outlets that was addressed immediately… I had an issue a few days after the checkup, and another tech came out and resolved the issue… all while explaining in details what was being done, and possible next steps.. Great job Matt and Tyler!!! I will definitely use them going forward, and refer to friends and family!

After having 1 year of electrical headaches, I took a shot at calling in Aux Home Services to help me out and the nailed it at first attempt getting my issue resolved. The representative on the phone was very straight to the point and professional. These guys are top notch and I've had nothing but great experiences with them! My plumber, Kevin Donaldson, was amazing. He checked all the boxes; arrived on time, was professional, didn't waste any of my time, quickly found the leak and offered me a few different options on how he could solve the problem, made the repairs quickly but without sacrificing any quality, and charged me a very reasonable price especially for the quality of work and level of service I received. He even took before and after pictures from under my house to show me everything I couldn't see. I will be using AUX for all my repair and maintenance needs from here on out.

Worked with Chris and Josh on my sink issue. Price was decent. They are very professional and nice people to work with. The only downside is they had to cut a piece of my drywall to get to the pipes but couldn't repair that part. Also they dug a couple holes to check my septic system and didn't refill 1 of them. I didn't know until well after, but not really a big deal though. Overall I would recommend using their services.

This is the second time I’ve used Aux. They are super easy to work with and reasonably priced. Both times I called and a technician was sent out same day/next morning for non-emergency issues. The dispatcher called 30-40 minutes in advance with the name of the technician and time of arrival. The technician was very professional. He wore a mask and shoe covers in the house. He checked everything, explained the problem, and gave me a price before performing any work. He had all of the parts needed on his truck. He worked quickly and left the work area cleaner than before he arrived. Based on my experience, I would definitely recommend this company.

Recently a tree fell on the power lines attached to my grandmother's house ripping them away from her house and causing some minor damage and power outage. I called AUX Home Services and explained to them what had happened and that my grandmother is on an oxygen machine 24/7 and they were very quick to get someone out there even during very busy times (winter storms). They sent out this gentleman named Ronnie and he was just amazing! He was very friendly and professional and treated my grandmother wonderfully, he truly went above and beyond to make sure she was taken care of and her power restored.

i was having the worst day ever - you know the kind - no coffee, car won't start, had to beg a ride from the general contract. We got back and as I was about to drink my coffee, the doorbell rang. I was not ready to like the person outside. It was Derrick from AUX. He gave great service at a fair price, some advice to keep my older furnace working but most of all, his attitude changed my day. He was genuinely nice, funny, grateful for his blessings (ask about his son! Any mom's heart will melt). But the closer for me was the work at the price. It was great (but not as good as that coffee!) AUX changed my entire day! (10 out of 10)

Update 2022 Walter just took care of an issue with our older downstairs HVAC. It needed a non-stocked part and he called around to find one locally so that he could get us fixed today instead of having to wait on an order. Update 2021 Preston handled an issue with our upstairs AC. It turned out to be a defective Google Nest thermostat. He installed a temporary replacement to get the AC running while Aux got the Nest replaced under warranty. Preston just installed the new Nest. We continue to be very pleased with the professionalism and courtesy demonstrated by Aux technicians. Update 2020 - Jonathan just came out and did our first whole-home plumbing inspection as a part of the Always-Ready program. He not only took care of a couple of special requests, but also corrected some major issues with a prior installation (by another vendor, not Aux) that would have resulted in premature failure of a fairly new water heater. Professional, Courteous, and Thorough. 100% pleased with the services we have received from Aux Home Services! Original Review 2019 - Our downstairs HVAC has been out, and with the recent dramatic temperature drop I needed to get it running. Derrick, our service technician, came out to investigate. He was fantastic at providing detailed photos and explanations of all of the components that had failed or were distressed, and gave multiple estimates including the minimum necessary work to get the heat running and then additional recommended repairs. Ultimately we decided based on the age of the unit and number of issues to look into replacing it. Paul, our sales consultant, came out the same day, confirmed the proper unit sizing and offered three different units and a variety of options for us to choose. Our first install date had to be rescheduled due to the installer being out sick. The dispatcher called and was concerned that we might not have any heat and offered to send out some electric space heaters if we needed them. Brian and his installation team were very efficient and thorough performing the installation, including a minor electrical repair needed following a prior lightning strike, and a thorough duct cleaning. Every Aux staff member was polite and took the time to explain what they were going to do in advance, and why, and then followed up afterwards to make sure that I was satisfied and to answer any questions or concerns. I have worked with a number of different service providers in the past and I can easily recommend Aux Home Services as providing the best service experience.

Great first experience, our tech Derek was awesome! He actually let us know of a breach in the walls of the combustion/heating chamber in our gas furnace, and helped shut the gas source off. Thank God he checked that! This will be covered by our home warranty, but he went above and beyond the routine maintenance he was here to do. Thank you!

*EDIT* You will rarely find a company of this size to be perfect in all areas and this one is no exception. I will say, however, that despite a few complications along the way, the level of customer service shown by the company to remedy my grievances was exemplary and through those efforts they were able to regain my business and trust. At the end of the day, I'd say the crew at AUX are amongst the good guys and I would likely recommend them over many, if not all, other similar companies. Thanks guys for making it right for me.

Communication is seriously lacking here. Out of the 8 servicemen that were sent to my house, Derrick is the only one who understood the problem and wanted to make it right. I had a unit replaced which took a crew of four more than 10 hours. They left the piping exposed (as the cover was on back order) and unattached to the wall. I was assured they would send someone out as soon as the parts arrived. After not hearing anything for over a month I called and they sent out Derrick. He and his manager agreed that the install was done poorly and left in an unacceptable condition for over a month. Another install team was sent out to fix the issues but didn’t understand the task (after explaining it multiple times) and did not address the major problems. Thankfully, Derrick came out and finished the job himself and it now looks great.

11/5/21 Ronnie was friendly and professional. Solved my faulty outlet issue. Aux always delivers. Only suggestion is that I had to call 3 different numbers before I got to talk to someone. (The # on the mailer (-4481) was no response and the next one off Google (-0554), I think, didn't work.) Kori was extremely polite and listened to my needs. Cynthia was courteous and dispatched the service professional, Derrick, quickly. I called bc I had condensation leaking from my hvac and wanted to see if there was a larger issue. (I replaced the pump I got at Home Depot myself but wanted a pro to follow up.) The $59 tune-up special seemed like a great deal and the reviews for HVAC were really good. ($118 if you have a second upstairs unit). Derrick couldn't have been more friendly and professional. He listened to my concern, asked great questions and did a very thorough review of everything. I'm not one normally call for regular appliance check-ups, but I'm glad I did especially given the warmer months ahead and avoiding costly repairs in future. He educated me on what he looked for and gave me options that I can pursue in the near future without using high pressure sales. I'm going to request him next time. I look forward to the water heater and furnace checks this fall which were included in the "triple play" deal. Jonathan on the water heater check was great, professional and friendly. AUX showed up on time and was very knowledgeable about my system. I got a courtesy annual inspection of my ac system which was great. I apparently had a leak and some mold or at least black stuff growing in my unit. Could not determine what caused it but it caused water to be under my unit and that could lead to dangerous consumption of air. Water was cleaned up, a UV light was installed to help with whatever is growing, but the black stuff was not cleaned up. Hopefully the UV light does what he say it will do. Clean the unhealthy environment. This is a new unit I got about 3 years ago from AUX and every year it has issues. It cost over 10k and it has not been a pleasant experience. However, the technical was professional and knowledgeable about my repairs. A courtesy call cost me $599. But my air quality is better for it I hope.

Micah and his partner did an amazing job! The pipe from the sink to the garage had to be replaced and, although it required them cutting through the ceiling and emptying water out of the pipe before pulling it out, they didn't get any water anywhere and they cleaned up all the ceiling dust before they left. They also ensured the pipe was going at a proper angle (the previous pipe was not, thus the issues) and that there was no leaking before they left. I'm very happy with their work.

This 56 year-old home has required replacement of systems over the 29 years we’ve lived in it. AUX helps keep things going smoothly, and everything they’ve replaced has functioned well. The only reason I scheduled this service on Friday, 6/19 was because I was told that a technician would arrive in the early morning. Because that did not happen nor did I get a call in the morning with an estimated update on arrival time, as promised twice, it led to me not being able to complete a few very important time sensitive items that day. As I explained I would be leaving the next morning and would only schedule this service call if it was addressed early Friday morning. The ONLY reason I am giving this review 5 stars is because I don't want the onsite technician to suffer because of the lack of responsiveness (or confusion) with scheduling/dispatch. Jason Threadgill was very professional. He took his time to explain what he needed to do and the results after. We received an appliance delivery on Friday afternoon from a different company who had promised to install it. Once there (and already paid online), the delivery people informed us that they were not certified to install gas appliances and could not do anything but unload it and carry away the older but still-working one! After speaking with their customer service department (no help at all!), I still had to get this connected safely and soon, so I called Aux. Despite its being late Friday afternoon, Aux always has someone on call. The dispatcher on duty, Brooke, was extremely helpful and stayed in close contact with me throughout the evening, while her service technicians completed their current jobs. The first one to check in was Adam, and he quickly came to my house. With Adam's expertise, the new gas+electric range was set up safely and working perfectly in almost no time at all. He was even careful to wear the protective boot covers at all times while inside my house, and his professionalism was unparalleled in my experience. After a terrible customer service issue from another company threatened to ruin our entire weekend, Aux came in and literally saved the day. I have been calling them for years and encourage everyone else to do so, too, as long as you want to hire a company with terrific service and excellent knowledge!

To be honest I was a bit desperate and after consulting 4 to 5 different plumbing companies with varying degrees of disappoint; Summer, answered my call for help. She was courteous, kind, eager to know my problem and send help. This was VERY impressive to me because out of 4 to 5 previous plumbers, only 2 actually showed up at my house to assess the situation and out of the 2 plumbers that showed up, only 1 was able to give me a quote!! Update April 2021:Our upstairs cooling system stopped cooling so we called Aux and as always, they answered the phone with courtesy and was able to set up an appointment to come out same day. Matt arrived and was very knowledgeable about what the problem may be and even gave my wife and I a lesson in HVAC systems and how they actually work and what to look for in the future. There is always some upsell, but that is expected in a business like this. We never feel pressured to buy anything we are not comfortable with. Been using Aux for close to 3 years now for our gas, heating, air, and electrical needs. Will continue to call on Aux in the future. - Initial mixup with time of the service call but was handled professionally and a technician waa called out anyway. JT came, assessed, and the price was reasonable so we had the gas cooktop conversion taken care of same day. Its a long process with 1 guy but he was thorough. My AC installer Jimmy B. was amazing, explaining everything, making sure the new system will work properly and to my satisfaction. He spent an afternoon replacing the outdoor unit and left (everything was clean and working), later on I noticed some water coming from the indoor unit, I called back and he was dispatched again. While I was waiting for him unfortunately my dog ran away... I went out in my car looking for her and couldn't find her anywhere, came back to the house to let Jimmy work on the unit and to my surprise he recognized her (from before) and brought her to me! I mean, if this is not the best service/human being I don't know what it is!! They came out to service out heat/air-conditioning system. We had a room finished upstairs and as it turned out, the wall was located to close to the unit and there was nothing he could to in regards to servicing it. So, they had to devise a plan. They had to turn our unit around facing the other direction to be able to service it. They did it in a timely matter, were very nice as well as professional. On time and courteous. I had a leak, which I already knew. The question was where. We turned off the water at the inside shutoff. The meter was still leaking. The conclusion was the leak was “somewhere” between the house and meter, which I expected. I received a quote for a full line replacement and paid my bill for the visit. I then called a 2nd plumber, who quickly had a best guess as to the leak location. They gave advice and no charge. The second opinion saved me over 11k because the leak was with the water works. As of now, I’m out an expensive “estimate”.

We have been customers of AUX Mechanical since moving to Birmingham in 1998. Over the years that we have been customers we have received outstanding service from them to include ease of appointments, prompt arrivals for scheduled work, polite and knowledgeable techs, and in the past competitive prices for the work done. After reviewing our experiences with AUX over these years we have spent close to $35,000.00 in repairs over the time period. We have had two visits this year for relatively simple tasks I could not perform (installation of a kitchen faucet, e.g.) and have noted that their prices for work performed have skyrocketed! The cost of installing the kitchen faucet, it took 35 minutes to do, cost us $350.00 which was double the cost of the hardware. AUX is a good company BUT be prepared to pay for apparently more for their services than you would from other reputable HVAC companies. I guess the old adage of "you get what you pay for" holds true for AUX. Bottom line is that I have contacted two other companies to compare prices as we can not afford to continue doing business with AUX!
