I am in the ER right now and I just got my wrist stitched up. The staff are extremely nice and comforting. But the service was horrible. I was sitting out in the hallway for 4 hours!!!! I was in the middle of the hallway and nobody acknowledged me. The therapist who was treating me gave us an attitude. She really said “well what did you expect” (responding to our complaint about the wait time), which was extremely rude.

I went here when I was very sick and thought I was going to have trouble with my appendix. Although the wait was VERY long (4+ hours), the staff was very friendly and nice. I was eventually assigned a room and the doctor was able to check on me. It's obviously this place is very busy, so we need to cut them some slack :)

This place is awesome, they park your car for you go get your car for you and when you are being treated you have their full undivided attention. The is the best, I can't recommend a better place to be treated my regular basis I make this trip at least once a week, and so glad the live shows in this Hospital. Yes PS they are service dog friendly and they love my boy here

All doctors and staff are great I've never been treated so well in any other hospital I've been in and there are really no words that can express the experience and quality of expertise everyone shows and the care that they give I just can't thank them enough

Let's put things in some perspective, shall we?
First, the gripes about the ER and security: People, do you not realize that this hospital is located in Center City Philadelphia? Therefore, it receives the full range of society for clientele, from normal, working-class folks to the absolute dregs of humankind, and let's face it-they have to take care of ALL of them, many of whom have little regard for their fellow humans...hence the need for decent security. Additionally, some of you might want to look up the definition of TRIAGE; if you come in with a wittle boo-boo 'cause you sprained your ankle, you ARE going to wait, as ER staff is going to prioritize patients with serious, life-threatening conditions BEFORE you, so get over yourself with your demands for prompt service. Finally-and this applies just about everywhere-too many people use their local ER as their "primary care doctor" for ailments that can usually be treated at a regular medical practice or an urgent-care facility. All these factors lead to often long wait times.
Second, having a bad attitude when being treated is a sure-fire way to guarantee indifferent treatment; being uncooperative or demanding is no way to treat medical professionals who are trying to resolve your issue...these doctors are seeing dozens of patients during their shift-how would you feel if every person you encountered during your working day treated you like garbage?
Third, this is a HOSPITAL-NOT A FIVE-STAR HOTEL...the staff is not there to cater to your every whim and wish...nor do they have the financial means to have a janitor waiting at each room or bed to instantly clean the room to white-glove condition...and, I'm sorry, you and your visitors have a responsibility to do your own part to keep your room/bed in decent condition.
Lastly, the whining about billing or other NON-MEDICAL ISSUES should not influence your rating of medical care; seriously, griping about the cost of parking? REALLY? If you have genuinely serious medical condition, parking rates should be the LAST of your concerns.
In all honesty folks, spend a little time at a suburban hospital that has free parking and looks all pretty, yet has terrible and indifferent staff that couldn't care less about your condition; you'll change your tune real quick-trust me, with my wife's liver issues, we've spend far too much time in such facilities, and I assure you that the grass ain't greener on the other side, and you'll appreciate the top-notch medical care you'll get at Jefferson.
NO, I am not an employee of TJUH-I'm just a regular guy who lives in central NJ that doesn't mind the one-hour commute to Jefferson so my wife can get the best care in the area.

I have to say must of the staff were friendly and helpful. I first entered the wrong building the security check the room number I was visiting and she directed me to the right building as it was my first time coming there. When I got to the other building one guy from security ask if I needed help and pointed the desk so I could go in. Overall with both of these security guards was very professional and friendly.
Now the bad part and this all happened today between 4:30 to five and I didn't saw the name tag. The lady at the desk was very rude I told her the name and room number of my family member she just looked at me and my sister up and down and after a min she started to write the information. Then picked up the phone and just stare at us. And wouldn't say anything I even thought I had the wrong room or something. I even told my sister to check. After she just said that he was in a procedure and that we needed to leave the hospital. I was speechless at first like what. I told her like what do you mean we came from 3 hours away to see him. And she just said we needed to leave. I even asked her if we could leave some things for him since he was staying for a couple of days. She wouldn't let me take his stuff to his room. Then I asked to have a nurse to come and least get his stuff. She said she called someone waited 30 min. And nothing. After I asked you know if they're busy could I at least go give the things to the nurse. She said no again and then called someone and told me that it could be from minutes to hours and ignore me. My sister decided to leave after 20 more min. We went for nothing cause not even his things we weren't able to leave for him. And that's not even counting the money we wasted for parking waiting.
I just hope he gets the care he needs since he is so far from home. And one advice I get that sometimes people are rude and disrespectful but be professional when talking to a different person. They weren't the ones that disrespected you.

Have to give a shout out to the nursing staff. Maria was coving one the 7th floor on 6/12 and 6/13 and she was awesome. Big thank you to Denise in Food services that honored every food change wish we had for our loved one, she was so helpful and so sweet. Thank you!!

Recent outpatient surgery at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. EVERYONE was very nice, professional and reassuring. I don't think that they could have improved upon anything. Very appreciative to all involved with my care.

My stay at Jefferson was excellent. In fact, I would not be alive today. As I was laying in bed at the hospital watching TV, my heart started going into rapid heart beat. I looked at the monitor and could see the beats of my heart and then a large blip on the screen and then immediately flatlined. Wondering how much time I had left, I had passed out before the large blip left the screen. In short, my heart had stopped beating. They worked quickly to bring me back. I would like share very heartfelt recognition to the entire staff and nurses that helped bring me back to life. I'm truly grateful for their quick response and expertise. Special mention to nurses Amanda Mulvey, Aubrey Cook and Rachael Link.

The Hospital does a great job. Had sinus surgery in early December and I'm doing great. Then when I asked for a recommendation for a good pulmologist and allergist at the navy yard location I got nothing but 5 hours of phone calls put on hold and call backs that you can't answer because the no. Is blocked.... Anyway had to find a Doc from Penn at 17th and South. Then earlier I called for a Dermatologist appointment with Dr Angelez earliest app was 4 months away, got it and then they called a week before that date to cancel. No reason. Now of course I found a different dermatologist from Penn.

Very very nice and friendly security staff at the entrance, as well as all the receptionists who took patient's details. Thank you Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. You are awesome.
Philip McElroy
I was recently at the Lower Gwynedd Jefferson Health Lab and found the staff were exceptional, especially Mrs. Arnita Rodgers, Phlebotomist. She explained how to set up my patient portal. She is a credit to your team there.
Marc Abrams
Recent interaction with the surgical staff was excellent. Warm, friendly and informative professionals took excellent care of me during all phases of an out patient surgical procedure. Exceptional experience under the circumstances.

I got to say Dr. Christie Quigley is definitely an Angel!! Through all that is going on in this world today this beautiful woman has been helping me tackle all my issues and took the time to figure them out in a very short time of knowing her, not to mention listens to you very well before making any decisions which is always a plus!! It's people like you that touch us deeply...❤️

I’ve been going to this hospital for over 15 years. All the physicians are phenomenal in my opinion. I have yet to be disappointed , with the service I’ve received.Yes would tell a friend.
Sallie Lawhorn
Outstanding healthcare! Doctors and nurses along with other healthcare providers paid close attention to all of my needs and made my stay safe and carefree!

My experience with the hospital has been great. They are courteous and very customer focused. The facility is clean and the staff are very helpful. I use this hospital as my first place to go because I trust their providers and their experience.

My husband just had surgery at Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. I felt that I had to give a review of my 2 day experience being at the hospital to support my husband. There are so many adjectives that would describe our experience. Everyone I encountered was helpful, friendly, caring, and knowledgeable. You can’t get lost because there is always an employee right there to help you find your way and in a couple of cases, walked me to where I needed to be. I was not a bother to them. They smiled and cared about what I needed. This began at the reception desk in the lobby and continued to the intake area and then to where they get you ready to go down to the surgical area. The waiting area was comfortable and again the attendants were helpful and friendly. Even the food was good and reasonably priced in the cafeteria. The nurses are amazing. I felt like my husband was the only patient because they were so attentive. They were always right there to help you, answer questions, and really care for my husband. So, I just want to repeat, everyone we encountered at this hospital went out of their way to make us as comfortable as we could be. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Ed and Jan Anderson.
Amanda Freund
Emily in section D of the emergency room is such a sweet nurse she helped explain my results of my blood work she also made me feel comfortable thanks Emily

Great hospital. Same day Surgery Unit is wonderful. One thing needs to be fixed is the valet parking system. Patients leaving the hospital are waiting 45 minutes for their cars. Hire some more people! But I love the hospital.
Joseph Miller
It's all about the doctors most of them do care and are willing to whatever it takes to get you better if you have a bad experience I suggest you go back and try again I have been through that eventually I found doctors willing to go the extra mile.
Mary Kieler
My husband and I live out of town. We were recently patients at TJUH after a car accident. The care was excellent!
BA Cropper
Good reputation not withstanding, we were prioritized via ER and seen within ten minutes. From security staff up to medical staff everyone helpful!

Walk in hoursjust my speed! Walked in at 12:30 pm walked out at 1:30 pm. This facility was very clean, robes were super soft and my tech Marianne was fabulous. I highly recommend this facility.
Christopher Burt
The staff and the Dr's are the best I have ever seen. The careful listen to you and try to accommodate your needs as best as possible. For an intercity hospital it is very clean. No matter what questions you have someone is always willing to help.
Richard Cooper
I would like to thank all of the nurses and staff at the hospital for they're professional.and caring manner in helping myself during my stay

I was referred to Dr. Luginbuhl by my family doctor for a procedure. Dr. Luginbuhl and his team was amazing, personable, and clearly explained what was to be expected during and after my surgery. All the staff that I encountered in the Gibbon building were also amazing and very professional even at 5:30 am lol. Thank you for making my experience a comfortable one!
Lizzie Mognoni Killough
My husband just left the hospital after a weeklong stay. He had surgery and because of Covid, I wasn’t allowed to visit or be by his side...his doctor and the nurses called me three times to keep me updated the day of his surgery and then took amazing care of him the rest of the week. Thank you so much for taking care of my best friend!!
toni downey

I experienced this hospital when my norm became interrupted with my husband sudden illness. I must confess the Cardiac and Neurology ICU Unit providers/nurses were very professional and displayed such passion. I appreciated them calling and making sure I understood everything that was going on with my husband.

I was just looking for a doctors name and came across these reviews. I don’t ever post reviews. However 2 years ago I was hit by a hit and run driver while walking my dogs. I was brought here to Jefferson emergency. I was unconscious, had a concussion, broken arm and mangled foot. Eventually hours later I sort of regained consciousness. I have to tell everyone, the care I got was amazing. Everyone was so kind and thoughtful. Jefferson’s ER is the best!!!
Martha Wilson

I've had nothing but exceptional care from all the staff, students, nurses and doctors from primary, dermatology, ER to neurosurgery.

Excellent staff quality service, I came by helicopter They had to call a trama team in the middle of the night to take care of me. Thanks again for your quick response I will be forever grateful.
Devin Zuczek
Had jaw surgery here. The best hospital to have it at. Staff very friendly, doctors, nurses, and surgeons all went beyond my expectations.
David Coffey
Top of the list for places you need but don't want to be. If you have a medical condition that needs expertise you are at the right place. As a doctor I viewed the patient experience first-hand when I became a patient. I prefer giving than receiving but when I needed care, I found top notched professionals to take care of me at Jeff. Highly recommend without reservation.
Bob
I want to give a big thanks to the security staff at the hospital.
I had a dead battery in the parking lot and they helped me get a jump.
Thanks!

My son was in the neurology intensive care unit with a traumatic brain injury for a month. He was not expected to live. I can’t say enough about the expert care he received by the doctors and nurses!! To say it was a difficult time for our family would be an understatement. Kevin is truly a miracle as he is recovered and back to work. I thank God every day! If it wasn’t for the excellent doctors and nurses my son would not be with us today. The staff were all so supportive and kept us informed with every detail. They are truly amazing professionals. God bless you all for what you do!!
Diana
Had to pick up supplies for a delivery here. Super friendly informative and helpful staff very clean covid-19 requirements met. I'd highly recommend.

I just recently had my rhinoplasty done at Jefferson Hospital and I had such a wonderful experience. I had my surgery done with Dr. Krein (He's THE BEST). All of my nurses and doctors were so kind and I was so comfortable the entire time. I cannot say enough good things about how I was treated. I wish I knew the names of the wonderful nurses who comforted me after my surgery, one in particular comes to mind (I think he worked in the PACU) but he went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and told me patients should always be treated like they are family. My anesthesiologists were also amazing and kept me informed and helped me to feel relaxed as I went into surgery. Nurses, Doctors and all other hospital staff are truly angels. I am so truly thankful I was even able to have an elective surgery during this time and I would not hesitate even a moment to have another other surgery done at Jefferson.
Katherine Dildy
I've been seeing a sports medicine specialist and multiple physical therapists for the past few years. Everyone I've worked with has been fantastic--from the receptionists to the providers. The MyChart portal is VERY easy to use and makes requesting medication or checking in with you doc easy. Compared to Penn Medicine, it's also easy to reach someone on the phone. Would recommend!

I have spent much of my 54 yrs of life in hospitals due to an auto immunity disease. This jefferson center city hospital was the BEST hospital I've ever been! From how much each doctor team works together with the other doctors and myself! I was treated important as if I was part of their teams,! Which I am! The nurses, aids, student nurses, and every person who I came in contact with treated me with kindness, exceptional knowledge for their jobs and as if I was special,! My room was wonderful with a panoramic view of the city! I will never go to any other hospital again!

Visited my Father in the ICU this morning. Cathy and the staff were very caring and helpful with the questions that I had. Thank You
Maria
My husband was treated there for Covid-19 and they did not miss a beat from the emergency room to ICU to the Thompson 9 & 10, with a special notice to nurses Arrianna, Erica and Clarissa.

Over all it’s a good hospital but the security guards are very rude and ignorant in the ER entrance…..everyone doesn’t want to hear them curse and complain
Samantha Edwards
Please note, for the cancer center, do not bring children under 16 to appointments. You better get a babysitter or something. They don’t tell you this, so if getting a babysitter is hard, don’t come here. I understand that they don’t want kids seeing the horrors of the disease but that should be something they inform all patients that have an appointment with them. No kids allowed.

I have been a fan of Jefferson Hospital for many years. Over a decade ago their fine cardiac and diabetes departments helped my dad for years maintain his health far beyond what most would have done. However over the last year I have been there visiting a critically ill patient and then my niece who had just had her first baby and boy did I see a change. Praise first - the nursing staff is WONDERFUL!!!! They do an excellent job under not so great conditions. They are understaffed and overworked and yet manage to give excellent care to their patients. My niece went thru 36 hours of labor and had to wait until a nurse intervened before she was given a meal. The kitchen staff never contacted her about her dietary concerns etc and were unapologetic that she couldn't eat what they brought her. The cafeteria closes at 6PM on weekdays and then 2 on weekends. This is crazy and a bad business practice. And the quality of the food is horrible. In this day and age you can and should be doing better. Get more nurses and work on your kitchen/cafeteria. No reason for this lack in either area. My 3 star rating would have been lower if it weren't for the nursing staff.

Eh, went in to vosot my grandmom she raved about how she was treated in a good way. First encounter i personally had was some security guard with a bug up his butt. So rude and expectant that my family knew the procedure. Its a beautiful facility just unhappy with the first person i saw coming into the door.

Hi i am so glad that jefferson staff was thier to help breath again that was a crazy experience i appreciate the stay the staff was so kind thank you jefferson

I used to love this hospital because only few nurses would show stigma related to sickle cell
I still love the ER department as most of the doctors and nurses treat me without stigma
My issue is that my treating team is the one treating us with sickle cell sometimes like junkies; I really hope that someone would talk to the sickle cell team to stop treating us like medication seekers; my 2 last visits to this hospital was so traumatizing that it added to my crisis. The team was so cold and nasty that I’m dreading going back
We are all human beings and sickle cell patients are no less. Know that what goes around comes around. God is not sleeping

I went there for neck surgery on Tuesday May 26, I had to go to same day surgery as soon as I got there my husband and I noticed how nice the staff was from the people checking me in while I waited sorry I remember their names, then when I was waiting to go in to the area before surgery the staff in there were nice to me as well, As I was being brought to the PACU area the gentleman who brought me was awesome sorry I don’t remember ur name, but God Bless you, then when I was in the PACU the nurses in there were really nice and Megan Kelly is who took care of me in there she was very nice and never disrespected me at all. Megan Kelly keep up the good work and God has many good plans for u. Then when I went in the OR sorry to all who helped with the surgery and that were in the room I don’t remember everyone’s name, but Julia so sorry my veins didn’t wanna work for you thank goodness that the gentleman helped u and was able( sorry I don’t remember ur name). Dr. Curry and Dr. Evans are awesome as well I am so glad that I crossed paths and they r my doctors because if it wasn’t for Dr. Morrow for sending me to Curry I would still be living with this thing in my neck, but not anymore thank you all so much. After I went to the recovery area I met the RN Shikha sorry I couldn’t spell your last name so I just put your first name, anyhow you were awesome as well thank you for all you did that day. If I had to tell people where to go I would choose Jefferson. Y’all keep up the great work, God choose this career path for y’all bc he knew y’all have compassion and wonderful heart. Sincerely Paula Billings God Bless y’all

The nurse's & doctors are exceptional in doing there jobs to the fullest a great team effort

My husband had excellent care from his doctor and every nurse and tech involved in his care. When he had an episode, about 10 doctors, nurses, whoever were in his room within 1 minute taking care of him. Being in any hospital is not good, but we were extremely pleased with Jefferson Hospital.
Katrina Parson
Wonderful doctors and nurses at Jefferson Center City.
Neil Gomes
A hospital system that truly cares for you and your loved ones. I trust this hospital with all my family's care.
Colette0404
My husband was in ICU and received the best care from the Gibbons east cardiology team. He had a heart transplant done by Dr. Massey an incredible surgeon. Head of the dept is Dr. Rame a rare and exceptionally wonderful man. He was sent home to be put on hospice by atlanticare/galloway NJ hospital. If you need cardiac care- go to the best and that is Jefferson in PA.

My Nurse in the 5th floor outpatient recovery (her name is Michelle) was the BEST ever!! She was amazing and was absolutely caring and patient with me as I was waking up from surgery...shes an amazing nurse. I wish I could thank her other than posting this here! Continue doing the amazing job you are doing!
Jason Dropik
Had to use the ER, from out of town. Amazing staff, great service. So very thankful!

On time, very efficient and effective hospital. One of the best in Pennsylvania and on the East coast.
Janine Drew
Went to the Blood Bank on an almost weekly basis for Hemochromatosis. The staff there is above and beyond professional and attentive. From intake to treatment top notch!!

I have been admitted Almost 2-3 times a year for the past few years because I have severe asthma and any small chest cold turns into pneumonia. I first came here because I was pregnant and with my asthma I was admitted Almost every month and the antepartum unit was amazing. The nurses I became close with and made me feel welcome and every one from aides to doctors helped me through a difficult time and pregnancy. I spent a month here when I had my baby because my heart went out of wack.
I had my first daughter at Lankenau and i spent 5 days in labor and the 1st year resident and nurse were all I was given. Long story short, if i had listened to the resident my daughter wouldnt have made it. When she was born blue and not breathing only then did the actual doctor on call show up and called a code blue. She was in the NICU for a week. Imagine if I listened to the resident when she told me to stop pushing and give it a few min.
Jeff has always been on top of things and although they usually have students with them (I got asked by a million students to listen to my lungs bc I had "rails") I always feel they are providing the best care available. Thank God for having such a great hospital.
PS- yes, ER waits suck and I had to wait almost a day for a bed but for the care and compassion it's worth the wait.

TJUH is a whole lot better that the hospitals here in Southern New Jersey. In fact I wish TJUH would buy all of these hospitals down here. All of the staff have been extremely helpful, and have treated me with a great bedside manner during the process of my Bariatric Surgery. They have been great with communicating with me through the Follow My Health site/app, and as well on the phone. I am scheduled to have my surgery on the 26th of January 2016. The only flaws that I have ran into during the beginning process is a certain doctor in the Jefferson Sleep Disorder Center (Dr. Ritu Grewal) she was showing off in front of 3 med students whom were observing. I was trying to be honest with her about a problem I was having, and her actions nearly cost me my driving privileges in New Jersey. She reported her concern about me and I had to be medically examined in order to prove I am capable of operating a motor vehicle. Then to top it off she dictated a certified letter to my employer human resources department, and she cost me my job. She made it appear I was unhealthy to work. I do not qualify for aide of SSI/SSD.
The second encounter I expirinced was today when I went for my scheduled Pre-Admission Testing. For some reason there is miscommunication between staff and use of the computer scheduling program. I wasn't in the system for today and they had me scheduled with a doctor I never met and surgery next week on the 12th of January. I had to provide proof that I was supposed to be there for an appointment and for the date of my surgery by the scheduler. The scheduler never fixed the information in the scheduling program. This appears to be a common flaw at TJUH. Now I am a spouse of a TJUH employee. They know I'm an employee's spouse, but they don't care no favoritism at TJUH.
I will write again after my Bariatric Surgery in a few weeks to let you know how that goes.
Polly Gannotta
Caring, compassionate staff & doctors. Up to minute cancer care/treatment. Gotta mention Dr. Sama, Oncologist AND his wonderful staff on 2nd & 3rd floors, oncology. Truly lifesaving medical advances.

Driving through from Maine to VA with a severe bee sting reaction. Stopped in Philly and went to the ER at TJ. Great experience. The hospital was very clean and everyone was very attentive and responsive, making sure I was safe to continue on the road.
Robyn Flintoft

I visited Jefferson Urgent Care located at 700 Walnut St. I had the pleasure of being the patient of Dr. Gabrielle Morrow. Dr. Morrow was very professional, easy going, and made you feel as if she was your physician for years. I received immediate service and was done in about 15 minutes. If you need urgent care, call and see if Dr. Morrow is on duty and pay her a visit. In case Dr. Morrow reads this she will remember my visit - Physician vs doctor conversation ***The system wouldn't allow me to rate Dr. Morrow of Jefferson Urgent Care located at 700 Walnut St. under that facility. So I'm rating her here.***

Was at this hospital today, and everyone, from the front desk to the last person I spoke with at 3:30 pm. was more than helpful and very nice. I can't say enough how much I appreciate those people today. The woman in surgical recovery ( older African American woman) really should be recognized for her work. She definitely goes above and beyond her call of duty, not only to us, but to everyone she comes in contact with. We could definitely tell she "LOVES" her job. Again, Thanks to Everyone at Jefferson Hospital!!!
Ashley Jean-Baptiste
My mother received the best care here !

By far THE BEST medical care I have ever had. Bedside manner is incredible. No patient concern is too silly to be taken seriously. Nursing staff was wonderful, my Drs were wonderful and my surgeon was unbelievable! his O.R. team was great as well. I don't think i'll ever go anywhere else again. lol I can't say enough good things about these people. Any surgery involving the head/brain is scary. To say they were "comforting" doesnt begin to explain how compassionate they were.

My mother is a breast cancer survivor she had a mastectomy at Jefferson. We were treated terribly during her surgery. I placed a complaint then. She went back for a follow up appt about a year and a half after her surgery due to some extreme pain and complications related to her surgery. She went to see her medical oncologist Allison Z something and she did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for my mother! And told her she will be in pain for the rest of her life. I find this appalling and disgusting. How can a medical professional treat a patient this way? Well this girl Allison will be hearing from me her daughter Kelly. I refuse for my mother to be treated this way and ignored. I am going to make a complaint against her and demand something be done. No cancer survivor should be treated that way and talked down on. I mean really Allison?? Medical oncologist you don't want to help my mother your patient? I will make sure something is done about you. My anger is at an all time high and I will not be ignored like you want to ignore my mother? I will tell you now you won't get away with this I will call Every single day even several times aday until this is resolved. And my mother gets the help she needs. I honestly don't want her to go there anymore because you do nothing!! Jefferson is by far the worst I've ever seen in my life!! Simply disgusting females with horrible attitudes who call themselves medical professionals. But I bet this medical oncologist is going to get $$$ from my mothers insurance company? Well of course probley top dollar for a 10 minute visit where she didn't help my mother, and said youll be in pain the rest of your life? I honestly want to make sure you don't get paid from the insurance company. You don't deserve a penny not one!! I refuse to sit back and let my mother suffer the way she has been. Shes in extreme pain getting severe headaches from it and vomiting. Where her surgery was is swollen. And throbbing. This is not normal and she needs help from a real doctor! I don't believe she will get that at jefferon. Hopefully she can go somewhere else and actually be treated with kindness, and compassion like she deserves. I do not accept your not helping and no answers. So just know I will be complaining every single day several times a day until this matter is resolved and something is done to help my mother. She has suffered enough getting a mastectomy. I will not let her be treated this way. I demand something be done to this medical oncologist Allison. She should not be allowed to treat patients in such a ride way. Jefferson hospital you let your employees treat patients this way? You should all be ashamed of yourselves. I am truly disgusted with JEFFERSON!!! Worst ever!!! I will be calling tomorrow to talk to Allison's boss I will not let you get away with treating My mother so terribly. And if that doesn't work I will demand to speak to the next boss above that! I will come there in person if I have to! Im not afraid to speak my mind obviously. And I refuse to be unheard!

Very good treatment and after care.

The ONLY reason jefferson is getting 5 stars for me is because ONE nurse extern has always gone above and beyond without me asking. I’m on the 9th floor ortho unit and her name is Monica .... i never ever have to ask for anything she just does it for me ... she’s the only person who’s made and changed my sheets without me asking (2 days in a row she changed them) without her i would be laying on the same sheets for weeks ... when she’s not here and i hit the call button and ask for a cup of water they say okay and never show. I get nurses are busy but i have to ask or beg for anything around here and i still NEVER GET IT. Monica shows her patients respect and makes them fee comfortable ... if i could hug her and show her i appreciate her i would. A nurse or anyone should always make sure their Paitent is okay I’ve been here so long i feel depressed but Monica brings in a ray of sun for me and restores my faith.. thank you Monica !!!!

Born here, Surgeries here, my Dr's here, " TOP
DOC'S ", yes they are including all staff interactions ( 1 exception nurse, did not refill my I.V., but she did not hurt me, but herself),
God had my back, front and sides. Caring staff overall, remember that their National ranking status is impressive. Thanks Jeff

Be wary of paying any bills that don’t align perfectly with your insurance. I paid mine with the benefit of the doubt when Jefferson sent their bills for my wife and newborn daughter. It wasn’t until months later that I went over my out-of-pocket maximum. After 6 months of disputing and Jefferson not being helpful at all (blaming the insurance). It turned out that Jefferson made two billing errors, overcharging me more than $1,100. They already had my money and didn’t give it back until after all the disputes, emails, phone calls, follow-ups for 6 months, they returned my $1,100+.
My insurance, Aetna, knew something was wrong. But no one in Jefferson’s billing nor refund department did.
The structure is a mess since their Billing department claimed to have no power, their Refund department was extremely rude (Harry) and just wanted me gone, and their Accounting department, who sorted out what went wrong, needed to climb up four levels to give me my refund. Jefferson might be getting too big—and they’re acquiring more hospital networks. I’m sure plenty of people have paid things they didn’t need to or gave up trying to get their money back.
Additionally, things take a long time in Jefferson—my experience is in the maternity ward and ER. Set aside 6-8 hours for a visit due to getting any medication takes 40-90 minutes, per medication. Then there’s a new doctor or nurse every time the door opens, so you go over the same info time and time again.
Some visits are quick and painless with all the insurance claims lining up properly. But when there’s a mess, it’s a complete waste of time and energy where they’ll fight for a dime—even if they’re wrong.

I can not say enough about jefferson - I came up from FL for a brain tumor and a heart problem was discovered. Brain tumor skull based team put me at ease that I did not need the procedure recommended in FL (the doctor owned the machine in FL!) - the heart team were accomodating and even allowed my small dog in the rooms as comfort ...true total patient care and compassion and I adore Dr. Roz Kaplan at Women's health!!

Jefferson transplant team is absolutely amazing!! From the first time of talking to Kelly Miller to going through the surgery. Dr Shah was amazing he knows how to treat you as a person and not another number. Thank you to all the personnel on the transplant team!! You were all amazing!!

Mom moved to ICU. Her posessions made it, but none of her flowers that were sent, and especially the ceramic pumpkin she so loved. Sure she couldnt have that in an ICU, but she sure could have in the room afterwards! Staff took it, and thats that. Dont send people flowers or things there. So sad. Otherwise, goid medical surgical and nursing care. **update** hospital made good on her belived pumpkin. Thank you to the hospital rep staff.

So When me and my Family were waiting Outside for a Family member to be Done Visiting Someone. We were Sweating like Heck and we were Tired of Standing outside for 1-2 Hours waiting for each Family Member to be done Visiting someone. So we were thinking that Jefferson Hospital should have Benches and Chairs but each Chair 6 Feet Away from Each other and the Benches the Same thing as the Chairs but the Benches are for Family. So let’s say that we’re tired of standing then we/the Family can sit in a Chair or some of us in one Bench and if there’s more Family members then they can Be sitting on the Other Benches that are there. That way we will be Protected, following the Rules(6 Feet apart)and sitting Safely. Thank you I hope you can add what I think you should add to the Hospital Outside.

My recent stay on the Intermediate Cardiac Unit was efficient and effective, but I also felt that I was taken care of by friendly, compassionate, and competent people at all levels. From the servers from Food Services and the medical techs, to all the RN's on the floor, and to the medical staff (students, residents, fellows and attendings), I felt I was treated as an individual with respect and kindness. I have to give special thanks to the nurses in the cardiac cath lab, who have a special spirit and determination that inspires confidence.

A teaching hospital that can save lives.... TJ hospital has a state of the art facility that is great for treating serious health conditions. The affects that Thomas Jefferson hospital has had for the Philadelphia community is remarkable. I thank this hospital for having some of the best trained doctors in the country and saving my grandmothers life from a serious spinal cord injury. If your doctor is affiliated with Thomas Jefferson university you have chosen the right place.

Very careful Docs. My HEART TRANSPLANT went very excellent well. The other patients I aquainted here also did well. Discharged to home 15 days post surgery. 7.5 months & doing well. Older chairs in rooms have been replaced. I was there 3 months waiting for a heart and my experience was excellent. The usual frustrations which occur in all hospitals. Great rotation of transplant and VAD (pump) Docs

15 yrs, ago i had a ruptured AVM.after being shipped thru 2 other hospitals i was flown to jefferson, with a severe brain bleed.(when blood hits gray matter it kills it) the other hospitals wasted many hours doing nothing while the bleed was causing brain damage.jeffs.highly skilled Drs.went into my brain, capped off the veins, removed damaged veins and gray matter and i was outta there in 8 days.very sleight cognitive defects which were corrected in a few months. I know every patient is different but i beleive without jefferson i would not be the happy, healthy person i am today.i would trust jeff as i did in the past, with my life.

My Sister got surgery today. It was for her Fibroids. The nurse Cheryl on the 9th floor was EXCELLENT. She did her job very well and she took care of Me and My other Family members also. I really appreciate everything she did for my Sister. Cheryl is truly amazing and Nice and Caring. I would also like to take the time out and say Thank You to Jose for explaining to My sister about all the anesthesia that she would be getting for her Surgery and he was very detailed with all information and answered our questions as well. From the beginning to the end I Want To Thank Everyone for their Great Services and Hospitality Today. The 5th Floor and 9th Floor Rock° Thank You For A Wonderful Experience.

I had a severe traumatic brain injury, not just a simple concussion. I was airlifted to Jefferson and hospitalized for weeks afterwards, but they never gave up on me. Even the police and medics on the scene thought I was not going to make it. When EMT's panic, you know it's not good. But here I am walking and talking. Especially for TBI's, I can't recommend Jefferson enough. I'm not 100 percent back and probably never will be, but I've come a long way from being roadkill.

Cardiologist gave me a very high prescription for my high blood pressure I was knocked out for 3 days. I also suffer from chronic edema and had an eye stroke which left me partially blind on my right eye. Doctor said he doubt I was blind or had a stroke due to my age. But recognizes that I have a heart condition.

My husband plans to visit our son at Jefferson tomorrow. He is not familiar with the routes and transportation modes. We live in WV. I tried to call Septa for train information but there was no answer. However, "Nate" answered at the Jefferson number and went the extra mile to provide routes, times, names of stations and I am writing now to declare he has earned an "Atta-boy!" at the very least.
Thank you for your kind and courteous handling of my inquiry. It's those little details that can create enormous anxiety when a loved one is in hospital, so this treatment came at a very difficult time and relieved a good deal of stress.
Thank you, Nate!
