Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is one of the best hospitals in the region with huge infrastructure to take care of kids. Emergency department is very helpful and friendly to the patient and the attendant. My recent experience with my kid is amazing. Right after check-in they started to examine him and initiate the treatment. Within few moments my boy felt better and he looked brighter and active. Though this hospital takes care of a huge population in the area, still they maintain a very good standard of hygiene and cleanliness. I hope they will continue to keep doing great job to the community.

I really appreciate the 12 floor TEAM and the way they took care of my daughter Ashlynn.. They were soo loving, from the doctors to the nurses, down to the kitchen!!! Wow you guys showed out for my daughter and I am forever grateful.. everything you do in this world THE LORD WILL REPAY YOU!! You guys will forever be blessed. A big shout out to our nurse Kaitlyn Greblinger thank you we appreciate you you got Ashlynn to drink & eat when she wasn’t !!! You figured out a way !! I just wanted to share that my experience at CHOP today was nothing short of exemplary… My husband and I was appreciate the empathy shown and great beside manners displayed by the pediatric chop team! I was made aware of what to expect every step of the way and felt at ease with something that is completely unfamiliar to me! My 8 month old son went in for a CT scan of the chest and required anesthesia, which is nerve wrecking for parents. In the end, it was a quick seamless process that did not have a long wait time!

Arrived December 2021, still here and I have nothing negative to say about this hospital. Doctors are great but even better the nurses and staff. All parents coming through these doors are already experiencing much stress and hardship seeing their children fighting for their lives. The last thing a parent coming to Chop needs is to deal with grumpy and grouchy people, you will not find any of those people at CHOP. I have experienced nothing but love kindness peace patient and much caring. Glad my child is being treated here at Chop.

For my outpatient appointments and my first inpatient stay the doctors and staff have treated me nicely most of the time. However, for my first ER visit, they sent me to an abusive psychiatric facility that I told them to not send me to. For my second ER visit and inpatient stay, a doctor (You know who you are.) decided to act like I was faking being unable to talk, when this was a REAL symptom I was experiencing at the time. Along with the rest of the treatment team, she decided to discharge me and send me back to an abusive psychiatric residential facility that I was unfortunately residing at. Based on my experiences, I feel CHOP staff, nurses and doctors needs to have more awareness and training on preventing and helping patients out of abuse in psychiatric hospitals, residential facilities, and group homes. This review is just a recommendation for what should be done. I'm not intending to be offensive or mean.

03/08/2021 - This is a very children's hospital. Very nice staff works here. Clean hospital. Great cafeteria with awesome food and the best is the ginger soy sauce shedded chicken rice bowl!! Great gift shop with lots of selection. The parking garage is very tight. Large vehicles not recommended. $4 with a validated ticket or the price varies by hours. Excellent hospital would recommend to everybody!!

Thankfully CHoP is right here in our backyard. One of my children has a very rare disease. The team we see is one of the most experienced in that field. Every time we have a clinic or visit hey treat us with such respect. They are the best. We love them and can not thank them enough for everything they do for us!!!!!

Today my 9 year old son had a catheter ablation and I can’t say enough how professional, comforting and overall how wonderful everyone we dealt with were. Dr Janson and Nurses Jess and Rebecca in the Cardiac unit were all fantastic. My wife and I can’t thank them enough for how well they treated our son.

Just got my son home after his second cardiac cath at CHOP. So grateful for this wonderful hospital in our area. Dr. Christopher Smith and his team are wonderful, competent, and enthusiastic about what they do and the nurses in the CCU are as well. You feel that they really care about the kids and about doing an excellent job, and not doing anything more invasive than they must. Also appreciated the newer private room we were in, so much nicer than the bays from last year. Had my son at CHOP 18 months ago and have been impressed with all the staff, from housekeeping to security, and nurses and doctors. Everyone does a great job of keeping you informed, explaining every detail, always asking if there are other things needed or questions answered. Though I hope I do not have to be back for a looooong time, I know if we do my child would be in great hands. Keep up the great work, CHOP.

I went here to see a specialist for what I have from Alabama. This place is incredible. They have so many resources here! The doctors explain everything here to a T. The only problem that I had was the AC was out, and it was 78° in the room in late July. Being from Alabama, the AC is needed 11/12 months of the year. Thank you, CHOP, for everything that you do!

Best hospital ever, i was in a hospital for 2 months then CHOP for 8 months so i was almost a year in the hospital and I’m so happy i got out, I couldn’t have done it without chop. But some of the nurses were on the wrong business, there were some GOOD NURSES!!! But sadly some bad ones.

A gem in the healthcare network of the Delaware Valley. The few times( thankfully) we've had to bring my son here it has been a positive experience. The staff has always been helpful and friendly. Appointment times were always close to being met. Pro tip- allow time for parking and traffic in the area.

they legit saved my life. plus it was fun i learned soooo much i even explained to my doctor about my kidney disorder!!! :D The staff was really nice as well and the rooms were clean and sanitized Also i like the fact that they hold little events so that kids who are sick can also play games like normal kids :) Edit at 14y/o: Still go here for checkups in nephrology! Edit 2 at 16y/o: This place still rocks! In 2022, i got hospitalized 3 times, back to back. First two times were for relapsing nephrotic syndrome, and the 3rd time was for a nasty norovirus infection. All 3 times, the nephrology floor staff (floor 5) were outstandingly nice. When i went to my latest follow up appointment, my doctor told me that they were all very impressed with me and were talking about how smart i was and that makes me really happy to think about :]

Dr. Low is amazing! We had to take our daughter here a week after delivering. He thoroughly explained her condition and answered all of our questions and concerns. The facility itself is beautiful and the check-in process was quick and painless. Thank you CHOP for the excellent service.

The doctors and nurses at CHOP are the best! We never have any problems with the staff. The wait time in the ER is long and frustrating but i would not go anywhere else. The cafeteria on the other hand is not the greatest. Most of the workers are very RUDE! Like you are bothering them when you want something and very unfriendly! The past few times my daughter was admitted i have had a bad experience when i went down for something. They should take notes from the nurses on manners!

No parents wants their child to be in a hospital, however our stay at CHOP (16 days) was filled with uplifting, caring people. One nurse that made a huge impact on both myself and my daughter. We had been admitted into the nutrition unit Seashore building 3rd Floor for medical stabilization due to Malnutrition, and the second she introduced herself to my daughter, she instantly felt safe, respected, and cared about. She treated my daughter as not just a patient but a person. She was professional but always managed to meet my daughter with the same silly lightheartedness that the good days brought her. She was always the first to celebrate my daughters good days and encourage her during her tougher ones. She was also very supportive to myself as a mom struggling to navigate a scary, uncertain situation. She was always very educational and empathetic to my questions and concerns. I never felt judged or left behind in the process of my daughters recovery. We always looked forward to her being my daughters nurse for the day because we knew no matter the challenges we faced that day, we were going to be heard, cared about, and supported through them. Super super staff. Orthopedics is exceptional from check in to check out and even the parking garage staff are friendly and helpful. Overall great experience. My son found really awesome details in the building and the bright colors throughout the facility brighten even the worse situation. He picked a bright orange cast, but they had several to choose from. I would definitely recommend this hospital to any family with children.

I would like to start off by saying that if it were possible, I would give more stars! My wife and I could not be happier with how the process of being admitted went to the care and attention from all the doctors and nurses. All was top notch!!!!! We were finally able to figure out what was going on with our daughter. They made her feel comfortable and at ease. It made having to stay a few nights go smoothly. We loved how each staff member that we talked with paid attention to detail and really left no stone unturned. We also loved the fact that the doctors talked to us NOT down or above us!!!!!! The Drs here absolutely amazing. I personally went here for a fetal echocardiogram for my baby. The worker's are extremely nice , helpful and give you a piece of mind at least for me they did . I would highly recommend this hospital for any special kind of Drs . It's truly amazing here.

Very professional! The staff was very helpful. The nurses were always super happy which I'm sure is tiring but it helps. My 2 and half hear old was very comfortable the whole time even thought she was getting surgery. The cafeteria food was actually good also. Good job CHOP.

My daughter put a googly eye up her nose and it got stuck! We went to the ENT department at CHOP, and they got it out. From the minute we walked into the building, EVERYONE was super friendly and helpful. It all started with the security guard who helped me when I messed up with the parking ticket validation. The entry receptionist and ENT-specific receptionist both greeted us warmly, and walked us through the process clearly. We didn't even sit in the waiting area, because the moment we got to there they called us into the room. The nurse practitioner and both doctors who helped us gave very clear information and remained calm, even when my daughter got understandably very upset at having them go up her nose to get the thing out. They helped me as a parent understand my role in the process, and worked as a team to move carefully but decisively. The exit was just as nice, with everyone along the way saying goodbye and helping us with last details. Including the security guard, who helped me when I messed up again!

Going to one of the best pediatric hospitals in the nation - I trusted that my child was in good hands. Today, I feel very naive for assuming that mistakes can't happen at CHOP. While I do believe CHOP has some of the best doctors and nurses that exist - you MUST advocate for your child. Please please please always double check every medication they administer, challenge everything that does not sit well, and ALWAYS remember that you know your child better than anyone else.

This is the BEST hospital in the WORLD, I have been going here for 22 years , and have had over 20 surgeries here! I wouldn’t pick anywhere else to go, I rather wait 6 hours here see a doctor than 1 hour at a local hospital. This hospital deserves more than 5 stars!! Anyone who complains about the wait here should rethink their decisions about going to a different hospital..... if you rather go to a hospital with NO one waiting than come to the best hospital in the world who has a full waiting room than you need to rethink your decision because an empty waiting room compared to a waiting room that is full honestly shows which hospital is better...

We have had to (unfortunately) bring our son to CHOP twice this past year. Once was an emergency and once was a scheduled surgery. My son was 8 months and 10 months and the team of doctors and nurses was unbelievable. From the security guards to the receptionists the entire staff was amazing. Not only did they take incredible care of my son and treat him like one of their own, they comforted my husband and me throughout the entire process. Everyone took their time to explain everything to us and they were constantly checking in and giving us updates. You can tell that they only hire the best at CHOP. I thank them every night for taking care of my little baby and me as well. I can only say amazing things about everyone and I appreciate all they do.

Been here several times. Staff seems nice and competent but they always ask you to show up at a specific time and then you wait at least an hour to see anyone. This is probably the fault of negligent/needy patients who doctors cant get out of their rooms rather than slow staff but don't tell me to show up an hour early just to sit and wait for an ultrasound that takes 10 minutes.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Chop Hospital!!!! Took my son here in 2016 for a perforated appendix. Took him to St Chris 3x's within a 2 week span and nothing as soon as we walked in to Chop they took him back immediately and within the hour they were able to tell me what was wrong with him. He stayed in the hospital for 10 days and they treated him so great!!! Staff are wonderful. At that time my son didn't have ins and they took care of helping me with applying for ins and pay for all his medications. Have been going there since. Every Hospital has there Ups and downs with wait times no matter where you go but this hospital is worth all of it especially when dealing with your children.

We were very pleased with the doctors and the care for our one year old who came in with some neurological issues that worried me. My only comment would be on the waiting room. It would be great if they had a waiting for room "sick" kids and then a separate waiting room for those that are not sick with a contagious illness. I was very concerned that my daughter would pick something up with all of the sick little ones running around.

I would have never thought that is was the best hospital ever!!! My son was admitted in children hospital of Hershey PA for 2 months never couldn't figure out was was wrong with him,, I asked to be transferred to chop and it was the best decision ever!!! Since day one my son got out of bed started eating and walking!!!! I couldn't ask for more!!! Thanks CHOP for bringing my son back!!!! In Hershey PA they had my son under oxycodone and morphine every 4 hours because they didn't know what was wrong with him,, once again THANKS CHOP and my son still going outpatient to chop I rather drive 3 hours and have my son in good hands!!!! THANKS CHOP AND ALL YOU AWESOME STAFFING

Our first day there was a rough start but everything changed for the better. Surgery and procedures went well. We have now chosen this hospital to be the permanent care for my granddaughter. It's extremely hard to go through a tough time with a new born baby. Scarlett Faith had her open heart surgery at Hershey but then we had to come here for lymphatic system and lung issues. Nurses and doctors here have been wonderful. Today, in fact, we get to take my granddaughter home. Scarlett Faith will have to come back here for other surgeries when she is 9 and 12 months old. Make sure you ask tons of questions. If you have any issues they have the Ronald McDonald House that can help with rooming and food. You are not alone.

I was in children’s for almost a month very very sick and this was the best hospital! They treated me with such care. They helped me understand how to take care of myself when I finally went home. If it wasn’t for them diagnosing me, not sure what would have happened. Thank god for this hospital. I was being diagnosed wrong in south jersey for a while. Thank you CHOP. This was the year 2000. I bring my children here for everything. They are absolutely wonderful with all their services. My children's pediatrician is affiliated with them so any of their doctors or specialist can access their records and history. My daughter has had heart surgery here and scoliosis surgery, as well as a few other specialists along with my son. I will not take my children any where else.

I have to say, CHOP has saved my life time and time again. When I was twelve, almost four years ago, I was found to have Anorexia Nervosa. It wasn't that I was trying to lose weight, I simply wasn't hungry... My BMI had dropped down to a 13. Since I was under the age of officially being a teenager, my mother was turned away from treatment. Luckily, one of the people pointed us to CHOP. The wonderful woman working the phone listened to everything and told my mother this, "Waiting for an outpatient appointment can take months. If her numbers are bad enough at the doctors, bring her to the ER and we'll see what we can do." So I went to the doctors and she told my mom "Take her to CHOP". Can I say what a scary name CHOP is to a kid who doesn't understand it? I thought it was something like a strict military school or something... But my dad took me into the city from across the bridge and we waited for several hours. It was a bit bothersome to have to wait, but I now know it is because CHOP takes their time with every patient. You can expect them to give that same time to you. The nurses in the ER handled my breakdown very well, and somehow managed to keep the IV in me. I was eventually brought up to the fifth floor west side for treatment. The staff was amazing! While I may not have been grateful for what they were doing in the moment, I wish them every blessing for making me eat. (Even if I tortured them a lot with procrastination). They would come and talk with me and bring arts and crafts to do. The unit had several nursing stations, and if you called the nurses came very quickly. (I think they liked me, but that's just my opinion) The Psych techs that sat in with me openly interacted and watched my movies with me (One watched frozen while I made Rainbow Loom Dragons). Even the cleaning staff talked with us! Everyone was wonderful, and the hallways were welcoming. Outpatient has great things too! Doctor Laurel Weaver has been with my family for almost four years, and she is the type of person to call back on a weekend if there's an emergency. (Happened three times) Every unit I've been on is great, and the radio station makes a nice addition. I recommend this place with everything I have. Thanks CHOP!

CHOP has helped us so much. They’ve helped us understand my illnesses and to help me get back up on my feet! After not walking for so long due to a neurological disorder, chop was able to get me walking through there hospital and inpatient rehab. I’ve had many hospitalizations there for other illnesses and health problems and they’ve always treated me with so much respect! If your child is having a health problem I recommend to go to CHOP!!

They saved my son's life 11 years ago, when he was 2 days old! He had cysts in his lungs and they thought he wouldn't make it....but one of the doctors (while pregnant) performed surgery on him to remove the upper lobe of his right lung! She was amazing! They really watched me closely! He is alive and well to this day thanks to her....I owe it all to the staff there in Philadelphia! 😢😆Thank you all SO much!!!!!! Great hospital and just an amazing group of wonderful people working towards the wellness of small children. I really can’t say enough about their communication, utilization, staff, facilities, and most of all, their ability to help and make better. We have dealt with a number of people including Dr Glatz who made us feel very comfortable and explained things in an understandable manner. Also Dr Falkensammer and Dr Nadaraj. Dr. Fox and staff are simply wonderful! Our family feels very blessed to have found a specialist for our son who was diagnosed with Neuroendocrine Carcinoid Tumor. Dr. Fox got to know our son and explained his rare condition in the perfect way. She was patient, kind and made us feel like our son was her only patient for the day. From the first person I talked to (Mia) until we were leaving the appointment (lobby information) everyone was just amazing! Thank you so much CHOP!

The most amazing staff and care possible is available at this hospital. For the past two months my son has been admitted in the NIICU and I have had no reason to complain about the quality of care. The surgeons and the nursing make the most traumatic things very simple and easy to understand. As a mom who had to see her newborn child be put on ECMO life support I was very traumatized but at CHOP I had a great support system from the nursing staff to the surgeons and the receptionist at the front desk. The social worker and the child life specialist are amazing too and are always available for ongoing support for my husband and me and especially our older son. So thank CHOP for all that you have done for us and although we will be happy to go home we will always remember the angels who took care of our little miracle. Your love and support will be with us for always.

I don’t like leaving reviews because the experience is different for every person and situation, especially during major life events.... that being said, my family works in healthcare and medical practices and I was not only impressed but awed by the professionalism and experience of every person we dealt with at CHOP. Our child was air lifted here and saved here with open heart surgery. Though the process was difficult and challenging i thank god we had CHOP in our area.

No one want to see their child sick or admitted into the hospital, however, if it comes down to that, CHOP is the best place to be for emergencies and on going care. My 10 month old son was admitted here a few days ago after being transported from another hospital. What appeared to be straight up fussiness was actually viral bronchiolitis. He couldn't breathe, wouldn't eat, wouldn't sleep, and was inconsolable. They had him on oxygen and an IV drip. Worse two days of my life. But today he's breathing on his own and is finally able to sleep and for that I thank the Drs and nurses here at CHOP. Despite how busy they have been with the flu season currently going on, they have still been able to give my baby boy the one on one attention he needs. Granted at first I thought the roundabout care was a bit obsessive, but now I know how important it was. Thank you to my baby boy's special team, especially his day nurse Lauren. From the get go she's been considerate, sympathetic when it comes to my feelings, and has taken a great liking to my sweet baby boy. I couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you, CHOP!

They were ready to help me in my complicated case. The care I recieved in the outpatient setting was very good. they were just very organized and helpful which was reassuring. SAVED MY CHILDS LIFE!!!!!! My 4 year old was diagnosed with MIS-C (post covid complications) and they hands down saved his life. Pros and Cons: Like any hospital they have their pros and cons. As others have said, what sets CHOP apart from other hospitals is the kindness of the nurses, technicians, receptionists, and other facility staff (doctors can be hit or miss). CHOP is also distinguished for how effective they are for treating children with serious complications - it is their specialty and they are very good at it as we've seen through our friends. CHOP's downside is price. They are VERY expensive. When you need the best for something life threatening the price is justified but for anything less than severe, they are way overpriced. Lessons learned: When my wife and I were concerned that our daughter might have a serious issue we wanted to see the best. We should have gone to our local hospital or just waited for our pediatrician's next available opening and let them decide if CHOP was necessary. CHOP did little for us but are disproportionately gouging us for our visit. Not to mention how frustratingly condescending our doctor was. Maybe there's a difference in quality between the doctors working during the day and those working at night. Also learned that there's extra fees for going there at night so keep that in mind.

Beautifully built hospital, big floors... I always made sure to take the time to visit the first floor (main atrium) to look at the displays, and sometimes the events they had there (I know I got an autograph from Miranda Cosgrove once when she and other celebs were visiting the kids for the radio station there). The ICU and maternal care is also very spacious and providing-my family made use of the Ronald McDonald room across the hall which was a great waiting room alternative if you have kids that get bored easily. Overall a great place that'll take care of your family. (Also good food variety in the food court!)

Hello, I am from virginia and delivered my son at CHOP in December 2013. I was 5 months pregnant when a large cyst was found in my sons right lung which was pushing his heart to shift the side and work harder than it needed to. I was immediately sent to CHOP. The staff and doctors we're awesome. He was diagnosed with a congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation CCAM. They performed a few procedures during my pregnancy to drain the cyst and told me he would need surgery to remove half of his right lung as soon as he was born. They performed a EXIT procedure where he was still attached to me while they did his surgery, he was in the NICU for a month exactly. The doctors and staff in this hospital saved my sons life. The ultrasound techs, the doctors, the nurses even the receptionists and social workers we're so great through out this difficult time in my life but they made it so much better, they supported me and even though I was so terrified they we're so confident that everything would turn out fine. If you were to look at my son now you wouldn't even be able to tell what he went through. I appreciate all the work they did Dr. Khalek, Dr. Hedrick, Dr. Johnson just to name a few, the child support specialists who spoke with my daughter and explained to her what was going on and prepared her before she saw her little brother in the NICU. The lactation consultants who encouraged all the moms in the NICU to pump for our babies, all of the NICU nurses were so great I wish I could name everyone, during my stay in philadelphia i lived at the Ronald Mcdonald house and even the staff they're was fantastic they provided us with transportation to and from the hospital everyday and volunteers would come in every night and cook us dinner, there is so much more positive things that i could say about this place i could go on forever but to get to the point EVERYONE WAS MORE THAN FANTASTIC and i love and appreciate them for everything they have done for my son.

The Hospital and doctors here are fantastic! I would give them a 5 rating! I am only rating the sign in desk at CHOP in King of Prussia Physical Therapy section. They are extremely rude! The woman that sits in the middle (of the 3 woman) is always helpful and pleasant. I wish I didn't have to include her in this review. The other 2 are awful. The first woman (Karen) I came to, I walked up to her section as there was no one waiting at the desk at all. She looked at me and said "someone will be with you shortly." I said ok and waited. Then she looked at me again and said "if you are checking in for a doctor use the kiosk". I'm not comfortable with doing that since every other time we were here the woman announced to the therapist that we were here, but I did as she asked, then sat down. We have never been called late for an appointment and we waited 15 minutes. I went back up to the 3rd woman at the desk area and asked if the therapist knew we were there. She looked up at me, didn't say a word, nodded her head with a blank look on her face. After I sat down she called to me and asked our name. I told her, assuming she would check to see the therapist knew we were waiting. 15 more minutes go by and finally the therapist came out and apologized and said she had no idea we were there! Lesson learned! Wait for the receptionist in the middle and NEVER use the kiosk to check in! And if possible go to the Chalfont branch to avoid this all together!
