Reviews of Kindred Hospital Las Vegas - Flamingo

A family member has been staying at Kindred Hospital, and I visit her quiet a bit. I'm happy to say that everyone from the front desk staff to the attending doctors have been nothing but professional and understanding. The facility is always clean and staff are very attentive. Once, my friend had an episode while I was visiting and the nursing staff were there within seconds of my alerting them. A doctor was there within 10 minutes, even though the nurses had sablized her. The head of Patient Relations, Debbie, is always quick to greet me, and according to my niece is wonderfully attentive and helpful. I only wish all Rehab Facilities could be this well organized. Would highly recommend!

I think the thing I appreciate most about our experience with Kindred on Flamingo was the kindness expressed from the staff, consistently and continually. It was on display from the moment we walked in to tour the facility in consideration for our mother's long term acute care. Setting the tone was Patient Advocate, Debbie Cochran - we immediately took to her kindness and attentiveness. She always always always followed through with anything asked or suggested. Noreen at reception always greeted us with friendly professionalism. Every doctor, specialist, nurse and aid was gracious, patient and attentive. The facility is older but we always found it to be clean and well maintained. Illness and recovery is a taxing journey, for the patient and for their loved ones, and I got the sense that everyone at Kindred understands that and respects that.

I am so fortunate to have become a patient at Kindred Hospital for their acute care. The entire staff have been the best. Everyone is available, even doctors, come and visit everyday with information and explanations of any situation. They do not rush and they listen. The nursing staff is kind, helpful and encouraging. Physical training and gym has been a gift. This is a a wonderful and professional hospital and if I could give more stars I would. Thank you!

I really don’t know where to start. However, my son had a stroke, a bad stroke and was admitted to Kindred Hospital on Flamingo in Los Vegas Nevada for long term care after leaving the emergency hospital.
My first encounter was with Ms. Debbie Cochran, the program manager.
She was very sympathetic and promised to do all in her power with her staff if the Lord is willing.
My son rallied in and out of infections, and other medical issues that eventually isolated him in their ICU department which was right there in the building, along with X-rays, Occupational, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapist, Kidney Dialysis, and a host of professional, skillful doctors, nurses, and Certified Nursing assistants.
They were wonderful. ICU overcame , and maintained his needs helping him regain the health he needed to begin the journey back to health again.
Ms. Cochran was instrumental in his care by accepting us as family with the most support available for families with meager hope.
Small incidents came up as in most large establishments, however, Ms. Cochran handled them as easily as buttering a piece of toast.
She is a wonderful person whereby my family will always carry her deep in our hearts.
My son is still there but beginning to see the light at the tunnel.
If you ever need such a facility as this one on Flamingo shine your light on Ms. Cochran.
If she can’t it’s because it was just not meant to be.
I will never, ever forget Ms. Cochran for the things she has done for my well being and our family.

Where do I start? My mom was in the hospital for several weeks when my sister and I were told we needed to start looking at longer term care facilities for her. We toured a couple places, and then we came to Kindred. From the moment we walked in...we knew this was the place. Starting with Noreen at the front desk. She was kind, helpful, super friendly and so delightful. Then we meet patient advocate Debbie. OH MY GOSH!!!! I felt like we were talking to family. She was so kind and caring and made this hard decision one of the easiest things we had to do. She gave us a tour, explained everything we needed to know, and even gave us a hug when we left. Then mom came to the hospital and she was so well cared for. The nurses were always on it...and if something happened and we needed their assistance, they were right in. Debbie checked in with us everyday. She brought mom a sweet stuffed animal to hold onto and brought us treats...just in case we hadn't eaten, and just because she cared. Everyone was professional and amazing. I cannot say enough great things about Kindred. Thank you all for making my mom's final days so much easier on us all. You're a blessing.

All nurses, doctors and medical staff are amazing with all patients. We have a brother in care of this facility and we appreciate for all the care he has received from all doctors and nurses. I also want to mentioned that my brother's case managers are super friendly and have explained us in detail what they are doing with our brother care. We are really blessed to have meet these angels at this difficult times. Thank and God bless you all.😇🙏❤️. Maria Flores, Alma Aguilar

I normally don’t write reviews but I feel I should now. The service and care I received here at Kindred flamingo has been outstanding. I was at another facility earlier this year and felt unsafe and was ignored there. Here I am cared for and the staff is unbelievably kind. They’ve treated me with dignity and respect.
I wish I could give a holler out to those that made my stay here bear able but knowing me I would leave off someone.
Let me just say all the staff are excellent. The facility is clean and to spice things up they give a crooner every 5 minutes .😂
Don’t take this wrongfully but I hope to never see them again. 🫶😹

My father was in kindred Flamingo for over 3 months, was in bad shape when he was admitted. The nurse and staff are the reason he survived and was able to come home last week. My father was not the easiest patient and real pain trust me, the nurses, CNA, and physical therapy were a god send. I’d love to name all the nurses by name but just so many. Debbie is a nurse and patient advocate and a true blessing. LPN April was a godsend every time I was having a breakdown she’d just appear out of nowhere, she’d go out of her way to check on dad even when she was not assigned to him that day.

I would like to say Debbie Cochran the patient advocate was the first person to greet me when I first got here.Debbie made me feel so welcome . This lady is so professional and caring with such a big heart. When she came to meet me she brought me a kindred bear with tones of different goodies. Debbie is such a great person for this position because when people come here they are scared and worried but when I met here I was so comfortable. Your very lucky to have her on your team. I do want to mention loren who is a great CNA and Marylou the Rn. The rehab team has been very professional and Toni walked me and went beyond the call of duty. Dinette has also walked me and is such a kind person. Aundrea the Rn has been such a great nurse and is always on time. John Barrello RN brought me his own personnel fan. John the CNA has been very good .Roxanne the nurse has always been very good when I have her.Tiffiney washed my hair for me so I was great full because when you’ve been in the hospital as long as I have you need your hair washed to make you feel better.also I want to mention Vicki the CNA she always has a smile on her face which. Is very welcoming. I just want to say your Hospital has many professional employees here. Joe at night the CNA is always helpful. Thank you for taking such good care of me

Our family was impressed with Kindred Flamingo from the start as our first point of contact was Deborah. She was knowledgeable, kind and sympathetic to our needs in finding long term care for a family member with serious health issues. Our previous concerns with other hospitals and rehab facilities were short staffing issues, neglect, and food that was not appealing. Each of our concerns were addressed on our first visit and when my sick Brother arrived, we quickly realized he was getting the best care. We had interactions with Management, Doctor's, Pharmacists, RN's, LPN's, CNA's, Respiratory Thereapists, Speech Therapist's and Physical Therapist's. All were professional and exceeded our expectations. For the first time in a long time, and having been in 4 other facilities, we felt confident about the care being given and were at ease when the family left for short periods. Every need was addressed in a timely and professional manner. The Kitchen staff was also great. My brother had some very specific needs to eat soft food. Unfortunately, my brother passed away. In the days prior, he was in Hospice care at Kindred Flamingo and we felt his transition was comfortable and pain free. During Hospice, the Kitchen staff also provided some much needed meals and snacks as we stayed by his side until the end. Every staff member at Kindred Flamingo was wonderful and I would like to recognize a few who really stood out. Respiratory Therapist Rowena, RN Jovi, and Physical Therapist Craig. Thank you Kindred Flamingo Hospital and staff for all that you do and the wonderful care you provide. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for exceptional care.

I have been in many hospitals over the years as a support person to my Uncle. My family found ourselves in another situation in Las Vegas as we needed care for my Uncle once again. Our first point of contact at Kindred Flamingo was Deborah. She was so great. She addressed the concerns we had from previous hospitals and rehab centers and assured my Mom and I that my Uncle would receive great care and, that they could handle the many issues my Uncle had. The facility was clean and quiet. A couple things I noticed was, every patient was tended to. There were no unanswered call bells and everyone who worked there was busy. We didn’t have to get someone’s attention. When my Uncle or my family needed something, someone on staff was always there to help. Kindred Flamingo was a unique experience for my Uncle as a patient and for my family. I would recommend this hospital to anyone who needs reassurance for themself as a patient or to the family who is searching for a care facility they can trust to care for your loved one. To the staff at Kindred Flamingo, I thank you for the best care for my Uncle and my family through the most difficult time.

I am thankful that my wife was able to come to flamingo hospital.i came here on a tour and Debbie Cochran showed me the place and explained what the long term hospita is about and she sold me and haven't regretted it. My wife has been in isolation but they have allowed me to sit by her room. Everyone has been wonderful.
Sylvia Hess

My stay at Kindred Hospital has been great. Came here with COVID pneumonia. All the staff have been very professional, kind, and positive. They just don’t realize how their positive attitude helps when someone is sick. Two staff in particular have been so helpful in my staying positive. Both are respiratory techs named Paul and Daryl. However, all the staff have done a great job. I would definitely recommend Kindred Hospital for any hospital stay.
Daniel Orta

Sheila Ocronin
I’m a patient at kindred flamingo hospital. I’ve been here for 4 weeks and the quality of care has been so professional. I like to mention Debbie Cochran my patient advocate. She has been my life saver here when I couldn’t see my husband in the beginning . Now my husband has been able to come up and see me . My Dr Hyunh had told me to speak to Debbie because she would make you feel better and that’s exactly what has happened. She brought me crossword puzzles and word search book to keep my mind busy and it has helped. The nurse staff has been good and the Resp team also has been good. I’m ready to move to the next level for more rehab which I’m not too excited to do but I know I have too. Thank you again kindred

My grandmother has been hospitalized at Kindred Hospital for about a year now. Her health has been yo-yoing up and down which has been greatly impacting our entire family. Through the early morning and restless night visits, the entire staff who has come into contact with us and helping my grandmother directly, there aren't enough words we can use to describe our wonderful experience throughout this difficult time.
We come from a large family and have been alternating those who come to see our grandmother. She's been through a lot lately but also most of her adult life. She's been hospitalized and cared for at other places, but Kindred has definitely stood out for us. All staff have cared for her dearly and have kept us informed every step of the way.
In particular, we want to highlight the efforts and compassion that Debbie, Kristin, and Joan have displayed. These 3 women have been our earthly angels in treating our grandmother as if she were their own family. Whenever we are not with my grandmother, we are able to rest knowing that she is in the best of hands thanks to these women. They have made us feel safe in allowing our grandma to stay here, especially recently since being moved to ICU. We had a serious scare last week and we thought we were going to lose our beloved grandmother. Even then, these 3 women stepped in to comfort and support my family when we needed it the most.
I don't know what our mental health would look like right now if it weren't for all of the staff at Kindred, and especially Debbie, Kristin, and Joan. On behalf of our entire family, thank you for your selflessness and your dedication to saving lives and helping our grandmother. You are all amazing and an honest godsend.
I apologize if I've misspelled any of your names.
Marco Trujillo

I want to say thank you to the housekeepers that always came into my room and told me not to give up they were cheering me on. I also have to say thank you to Debbie my patient advocate who always kept in contact with my wife and also with me. Debbie also made sure she came to check on me . Amazing place! My father was well cared for and Debbie, the patient advocate, was even more amazing! The nurses have been very helpful and the doctors have been very explanatory.
We had some family drama and Kindred care was quick with solving the issues and addressing the problem. Our family is very grateful.
Ric St John
I have been at this facility for just over 3 days now, and it is not what people think... It is SO MUCH BETTER!! The staff is so accommodating, professional, all while working in a situation that most could not handle. Dealing with life and death in a worker shortage has to take its toll. One in particular is Debbie Cochran, the Patient Advocate. She is the sweetest breath of fresh air in an otherwise dismal time. None of the staff here will ever receive the accolades they deserve, so I can only hope when you read this, you're hearing it from someone on the front lines. I have a severe case of the Delta variant with double pneumonia. My chances were slim. They never stopped fighting for me. And Debbie casts a sense of hope that is sorely needed... And welcome. Every one here.... I thank you from the bottom of my still-beating heart.
Rosselle Larot Aganon Arvizu

The facility is very clean with great Physical therapy equipment. Thank you Debbie, nurses, cna, doctors and physical therapist who helped with his recovery. I know he was not an easy patient to deal with lol much love ❤️ Rosselle and family

My father came to Kindred hospital after spending a month in the ICU in an area hospital for Covid. The physical, occupational and speech therapist along with the RN’s and LPN’s. that treated my Father exceeded my expectations for recovery! Today he is being discharged because the team at Kindred planed a recovery plan for him and showed the results. ( Incredible ) My family is extremely grateful of the care given to my Dad. I also want to the Debbie and lrena for the transition into the hospital.
Lani Drew
My name is Lani and I’ve been a patient at kindred flamingo hospital . Everyone has been so wonder to me. The nursing staff and CNA have been really good by taking care of me. Craig the PT and Toni have been working with me to get stronger before I go home. Looks like I’ll have to go to a rehab hospital to get more rehab. My patient advocate Debbie has been so kind and caring.

Jan Swiatkiewicz
My girlfriend landed at Kindred LV Flamingo. They are taking good care of her and she is recovering better then expected. The staff do there best to help both the patient and family members. They facilitate video calls for people who are in other parts of teh country.

I have not had experience with a long term acute hospital before, however as a friend of a patient who has been a patient recently at the Flamingo location, I felt I needed to write this review. Let's face it, when you are in a hospital as a patient - you aren't at your best; however, Kindred has some of the most caring, compassionate and understanding staff in healthcare. The family has been kept up to date by the patient advocate, Debbie. She has been extremely kind and patient with them, calming their anxieties with reassurance. When the patient did not want to participate in therapy or has been frustrated and not necessarily kind, the nurses and physical therapists were always encouraging and kind (even though he wasn't). Two nurses that stand out are Ray and Chelsie, always informative and willing to talk with the patient and family to ease their fears. Craig and Joshua from the rehab department have went above and beyond getting my friend to work with them even when he did not want to. Even though no one wants to endure a serious health crisis, this is the place I would recommend to complete any care regime needed. Thank you.
Theresa M Bell
I have enjoyed staying at this hospital. I was transferred here to continue my care from Mtn. View and it is such a much better facility. I love my patient advocate who is on top of things. Debbie is fun and awesome. The nurses, Ray, Jennifer, Crystal, to name a few are all caring and Anthony the CNA are all awesome. The uphold dignity and respect in all areas. Thank you Kindred Flamingo!!!

Top notch care and a wonderful staff! The professionals at Kindred have been keeping a close eye on a sick relative who I hold very dear. They are welcoming to me every time I visit and continue to help my family member improve. Thanks so much!
Sarah Shugars
I have not had any experience with long term acute care facilities, Kindred on Flamingo is my first and I am so pleased to say it has been a wonderful one!
My grandfather came there in the midst of this latest Covid surge and although I know healthcare in general has been overwhelmed with a huge influx of patients and staff shortages, it does not seem to have affected the quality of care here. A special thanks to patient advocate, Debbie. She has been so kind and compassionate making sure me and our family get to FaceTime everyday with my grandpa. Raquel, the night supervisor is always so helpful when I call for an update I. The evenings. His nurse at night, Fat, either sings to him or plays music for him…..I know she has so much to do and for her to make him smile is priceless. I would be negligent to not mention Ray the day nurse who always goes above and beyond for grandpa along with the CNA on days, Annette. Hopefully he will get to go home soon and with the care and kindness he receives at Kindred Flamingo LTACH- I’m sure he will!

My son has been at Kindred Hospital Flamingo Campus for over 2 weeks. Due to COVID restrictions, I have not met the hospital staff but based on my telephone conversations with them, the staff including the Case Manager & the PA seem to be very cooperative & efficient. I particularly want to recognize Ms. Debbie Cochran. She has been a big help since day one. She does help me to face time with my son, always with lots of compassion & smile on her face. She has been extremely cooperative & genuinely caring person. She promptly takes care of many of the issues.
Thank you, Debbie for what you are doing for my son. It means a lot o me & my family. God bless you & the whole staff.

The rehab people are very nice, friendly, funny, & encourage you to do what you need to do in order to get back on your feet. I'm on my way to walking again! They've added a lot more different snacks so I'm a happy camper.

When you live out of town and have to leave a loved one in a care facility, it can be very scary. Debbie Cochran, Kindred's Patient Advocate, goes above and beyond to allay those fears. From the initial visit to the facility, to sitting down with us to express hear our concerns she has been compassionate and focused on doing what she can to put us in touch with members of my sister's care team, visit with our sister, and do what she can to help the stay more comfortable. She will even do Facetime with our sister when we get home. She's the best, a new BFF! I hope Kindred recognizes what jewel she is; we sure do.
Lara Freeman
At such a hard time we have had nothing but the best experience with Debbie Cochran. She has been so caring and patient with us. She has kept us up to date with all improvements and stains that our father has experienced and has even allowed us to face time with him to calm our anxieties and to let him know how much he is loved. I feel that her genuine heart has helped my dad with a quicker recovery. He still has a long way to go but we feel good knowing he is in the care of such a great staff.

My dad was transferred here about 2 wks ago from UMC Trauma Center after a bad car accident that resulted in moderate TBI. In all, I feel confident my dad is getting informed care. The transition was a bit rocky for me as a family member (getting in touch with the right nurse, getting information on my dad's status, etc.), however, Debbie the patient advocate has been amazingly helpful and communicative, which has been so valuable since I live out-of-state. Deb has been knowledgable about my questions, responsive to my concerns, available when I needed her, and just all-around authentically caring for the patient and their family. Despite Deb's help, I do think there's room for improvement for Kindred to facilitate better communication with family on a regular basis, especially when the patient is unable to make their own decisions. I was able to visit for a few days over last week, and I felt like everyone as the nurse's station, reception desk, and passing in the hallway was pleasant, welcoming, professional and genuine. A few folks asked me directly how *I* was doing, and offered to assist me with requests I had for meeting certain people or finding answers to my questions. In all, I feel like my dad is in good hands there.

About a month ago, my dad was in the ICU and they told me he would be transferring to a long term care facility. I live on the East Coast so I had to rely on the internet in making my decisions for his care location. Of course it's the internet so you can't always get all the information you need. I based my choices on what I could find and had him moved to Kindred Flamingo. I flew in the day he was transfered and was able to check the place out for myself.
I was very impressed with the front office staff. They were so welcoming and just sweet as can be. Overall the facility was very clean and welcoming. Any staff I met was so easy to talk to and showed great care of explaining anything asked.
As far as medical care, I feel my dad has progressed great and I have been kept very upto date with any concerns I may have. He has moved from full ventilator to breathing on his own. I am impressed at how quickly he is progressing. His nursing team is so sweet and I am completely impressed. They even have taken enough care to ask what his native language is so they could try to speak to him that way.
I couldn't end this review without giving credit to Debbie Cochran our patient advocate. She has been so amazing and kept me confident that he is in the best place possible. I look forward to calls to her, as her voice just makes you smile. Her genuine care and compassion for patients and family make her perfect for her role. I am grateful for the times she alots in her day so that we can video call dad and see and hear him progress. Debbie always makes time for us to have these calls and she doesn't just hold the phone she participates and it's just like calling family on the phone. I will be happy when dad can go home but I will miss my calls with Debbie.
If your looking for a safe place where your family member will be cared for not just taken care of, look here at Kindred Flamingo!

The staff here that I got to meet was nice and amazing to deal with. Long story short my mom got sick and wasn’t going to be able to make my wedding. So I talked to Debbie the patient advocate about maybe bringing the wedding to her. To my surprise, we got a yes. My now wife, and I were able to hold our wedding in my moms room! It was our perfect day and I can’t express my gratitude towards Debbie and the staff for dressing up my mom and her room for our ceremony.

My mother, Pauline Belis was a patient here from February 10 until she passed on March 28th. She was suffering from Covid and pneumonia. I admit after reading the reviews here I was a little scared. After about a week my fears subdued. The nurses were mostly good about calling every day with updates on my mom. At one point I had four different phone numbers & they hadn't called with an update and I couldn't get through on all four numbers. When they finally allowed visitors on March 1st, they stopped calling altogether. It was nice to see mom, but I still needed information about her condition. I couldn't ask her because her mental state was that of a child. Aside from those minor complaints, when I was there visiting my mom, the nurses and assistants I did meet were wonderful. They were so nice, empathetic, and sweet to my mom. I was so scared that someone would mistreat my mom but they were all so nice. I wish I could have gotten all of their names but the ones I remember were Elsie, Shannan, Mattie, and an extremely sweet petite pregnant (Asian?) lady. She brought me to tears how sweet she was with my mom, feeding her and brushing her hair and at one point she caressed my mom's face with her hand. I was touched and was crying when I got to my car. I'll never forget that. It takes a really special person to be a nurse and I have all the respect in the world for them. I know the patients can get really hostile sometimes but I remember my mom referring to her nurses as her angels, I believe she's right! As devastated as I was to lose my mom, I know these people did everything they could to make her last days on this earth more comfortable. I know this place is short staffed and they are overworked but they really did a great job and I am very grateful.

My beautiful wife passed away there in the ICU unit recently. The staff - physicians, nurses, respiratory and others were exceptional. They were on top of their caring and treatment and sensitive to my family. The nurse director assisted us in any way we needed. My son wished that they were a primary ICU of a regular hospital but are a long term ICU. Not enough words to describe the such wonderful, sensitive and professional care they provided. The physicians and nurse constantly updated us and treated my wife with over the top care and dignity she deserved. That place despite the circumstances, will be a special place for me and my family. Thank you Flamingo Kindred Hospital ICU....you’re the Best!

I am currently a patient and retired nurse that has been here since 08/08/2020 and I just want to give a giant shout out to all the amazing staff that is taking care of me.
From Ms. Debi Cochran to Tamara PT to dietary ( I’m a vegetarian and gluten free) to every RN, LVN, CNA who works so hard. I love you all and know the hard work we do as healthcare professionals do. We always want the best for our patients. I would recommend Kindred Flamingo by far for long term care. My Mom was at a Kindred facility in Culver City, CA back in 2012 after her stroke and again Kindred as a whole is amazing!
Thank you for everything! 👏🏼🥰
Nancy LOL Lopez
It's hard having my loved one here in rehab during the hospital lock down due to COVID. Debbie Cochran has been a wonderful patient advocate in assisting with FaceTime visit and questions. I just recently learned I could do window visits. She met me outside to show me his window and then inside coordinated our visit from the inside. Besides mask, when entering room they glove up and a drape over clothes. Room looked clean and organized. Grounds outside are beautifully maintained.

The nurses have been really companionate concerning my sons care and they have kept me informed everyday by calling daily to give me updates about my sons care. Debbie (the patients advocate) has done a wonderful job at advocating for my son and allowing me to FaceTime him daily! Thank you Kindred for making this difficult time easier to handle especially not being In Las Vegas to deal with the affairs in person.

When I woke up from my coma of nearly two months I was at Kindred Hospital around May 2020. My doctor
Dr. Ranga was in charge of my recovery. I received great care from the staff at Kindred. I was transferred to the rehab center around the end of June. I received great care by the staff and really helped me in my recovery. Dr.Ranga checked on me almost daily to make sure I was doing good. I stayed at the rehab center until July 29 when I was released to go home.
I will always be thankful to everyone at Kindred hospital and therapy center. I would like to thank Debbie Cochran for keeping in touch with my wife all the time I was at Kindred.

Kindred Hospital, LTAC, on Flamingo, is an excellent facility with dedicated staff who truly care for the patients. Dr. Jarardan is fantastic! The hallmark of any institution is if the staff can work harmoniously with each other. They all work well together, and help each other when needed with no complaints, but a sense of teamwork and camaraderie. Each doctor, nurse and CNA enters the room and introduces themselves with positivity. They update each other on the patient after each shift, saying what was done on that shift, and what is needed during the next shift. They write the names of the nurse and CNA who will be helping you that shift, on a white board visible to the patient. Your doctor’s name is also included on the board.
The CNA’s each take pride in their job, which is evident in their attention to detail. They really get to know the patient’s likes and dislikes, tailoring their care to focus on the individual. It’s a breath of fresh air! The staff is friendly, and answer call lights with regularity, meeting the needs of the patient in a timely manner. They also come by to check on patients just to see if they need anything. They give bed baths in the daytime shift and the night shift, taking great care of skin to prevent bed sores.
The nurses are intelligent and mindful. They bring the medicine on a scheduled timeline, and breakthrough medicine when needed. They’re friendly and helpful when things get busy. Awesome encouragement and kindness.
The Respiratory Therapists are very friendly and very good at their jobs. I have been fighting Covid, and recently tested negative. They have taken such good care of me. They monitor my oxygen levels, put me on the bipap at night, and take good care of my roommate who is on a ventilator.
The food is actually decent. For hospital food, it’s flavorful! They tailor dietary needs with what your body is going through, like serving cranberry juice to help with yeast infections from catheters.
I highly recommend this hospital to recuperate and get well taken care of! If I ever have to be in a hospital for three weeks again, I’m coming here! Excellent place to be!
Sue Brown
I was here for quite a long time, recovering from a brown recluse spider which caused a major heart attack my kidney's shut down I was at Sunrise Hospital for 2/3 months then I was transfered here! I had the care, the nurses, nurses aides, therapy was good and hard, the food was good, snacks were always available, and fresh water 24/7! For the many months I was there it was like home! Be careful where you s end your people, I do say that when I was there, I was treated very well and I cried a little when I left! I hope this helped you with your decision! Susan Brown Las Vegas, NV

The best place we could have chosen for my mom to go to. Transferred from ICU at desert springs to Kindred we were nervous, but EVERYBODY that I have met has become family. My mom is getting the best possible care and I fully trust everyone who is caring for her. The nurses are amazing and caring and extremely skilled. From the maintenance to the cafeteria workers to the nurses to the doctors to the administration I have felt nothing but compassion and love from this place. Highly recommend to anyone. Thanks for the wonderful job you are doing!!

My husband has been a patient at this facility's ICU for several weeks, and the care he's received has been commendable. From nurses and CNAs, technicians, and doctors, they show compassion and an honest desire to help with the patient's well-being and progress. Management is quick to respond to questions and issues raised, always with a smile, making you feel better in this challenging time. The facility is kept reasonably clean ...thanks to hardworking maintenance staff. I am happy to have picked Kindred for my husband's care.

No words can express my family’s gratitude for taking such good care of my father while his stay there for over a month. I won’t lie, I was a little hesitant bringing my dad there at first after reading some of these past reviews from others. I can honestly say every healthcare worker we have encountered here are the most nicest, most caring and the most loving people we have ever met. They treated my dad as if he was their own family member. From Debbie (Director/Patient relations) who went above and beyond to always make sure my dad and even my mom were taken care of! She took care of us from day 1! Eileen (case manager) who did an amazing job with always following up and checking in and looking out for the best interest for us. To the following CNAs Loren, Elga, Stephanie, Annete, And Ian (RN) who day in and day out delivered exceptional care with no complaints. To the physical therapist department who always did the extra step so my dad could get stronger, RJ, Laura, Terri, Tony, Molly, JR, Eddie and Leticia. You guys all are amazing people with a heart of gold! My family and I can’t even thank you enough from the bottom of our hearts.

My experience with the staff, especially Debbie Cochran, has been heart-warming. Debbie has worked with our niece and given her care beyond what we had hoped for. We highly recommend the Kindred-Flamingo hospital.

My husband is currently a patient at Kindred Flamingo LTACH. I thoroughly researched the options available to me for his long term care and decided on Kindred Flamingo primarily due to the on-site ICU. I am very glad I did that as he recently needed an ICU and because it was just down the hall he is still alive.
A benefit I never expected is the Patient Advocate, Debbie Cochran. Debbie has been professional, knowledgeable, and above all kind and understanding. Having a loved one in long term care is stressful enough. Additional stress is counterproductive to all concerned. Debbie helps to ease the stress and to navigate through uncharted waters when you feel as if you are drowning. She is the life line to calmer seas. I know someone is listening and cares when I speak with her.
No business is perfect, especially during these crazy COVID times. Although I am sure everyone is overworked, stressed and tired I am also sure they are doing their best for my loved one and have his best interests at the core of their care.
I would recommend Kindred Flamingo LTACH.
Jean McCombs
My mom was probably the most difficult person during her time there. The staff was always accommodating and showed a lot of empty for our family during the time there.
The care they provided was above and beyond. I felt very comfortable with my mom being cared for by the doctors, nurses and CNAs.
Nicolle Beck
My son's advocate Debbie is BEAUTIFUL!!
SHE is truly a blessing to my family and I, she has helped me with so much and on top of that she has been an emotional support for me... I have literly broke down in tears and she was there to hold and tell me everything will be fine... I have grown close to her and I really appreciate her so so very much... THANK YOU DEBBIE FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE FOR ME AND MY SON, Kindred hospital has really shown my family and I so much love to with Most of my sons nurses have been wonderful and very patient with my " PROTECTIVE MOM MODE" so to those nurses THANK YOU SO MUCH!! My son is VERY determined to leave the hospital he has made so much progress since his accendent on may 12th he has almost mad a full recovery.
TINA Bellanger
I chose Kindred Flamingo for my care coming out of ICU at the hospital. The staff took very good care of me. Ray is best RN and Jorlyn had a great bedside manner. The CNA that did the most for me including sponge baths and shower before I could do myself was Jay Ar. Kamieha was also very helpful. She understands the staff is a team. Toni from occupational therapy really helped me get up and work on my daily activities to the best of my ability . If I ever felt pain or if my body wasn't quite ready. Toni adjusted therapy to meet the ability of my body. Each patient also has a case manager that will help you with making Dr. Appointments. My case manager was Kim and she did everything she told me she would. The most important person to me was Debbie my patient advocate. She was unbiased and her purpose was to make sure my needs were met and if I had any issues she would find the answer. I am so grateful I had her help. She always made me feel like I was her only patient when I knew there were 60 others. If there are any pronlems it was due to a breakdown in communication somewhere along the line. Once again that is where my patient advocate Debbie became so important

Coming to kindred is somewhere I never thought I would be. I sat in u.m.c after a tragic accident fighting for my life and the unknown was the worse. I was there 37 days, and many rehabilitations centers came to talk to me, but for some reason kindred felt like a fit for me. So nervous, scared I loaded up and took the ambulance and went to kindred. When I arrived my fears where’s lifted, I was met by the kindest people especially TINA, she was the night nurse, she made me feel so comfortable, even though I was in such pain, and her c.n.a Ruth was more then a c.n.a. Move forward 3 weeks I am still here, in every place you get the good with the bad, but by the grace of god I’ve been blessed with more good, then bad. So I want personally thank, Chelsea, FE, Tina, Jericho, and Craig from p.t, everyone is great , but these 5 have gone that extra steps to help speed up my progress and get me home to my kids. Wait before I end I hear there voices...Tony, molly, and Tamara from therapy thank you for being load and more of a friend then a therapist this place gets lonely so your silliness is uplifting so thank you..
Christine Schuler
Overall decent place. Food not bad, but plenty of room for improvement. Nothing a little salt couldn't fix.
Older facility, not exactly state of the art tech, generally friendly staff. Of course every workplace has some thorns with their flowers. That said, 98% of staff are quite nice and accommodating. .
Most frustrating dept was physical therapy. But there were a couple beacons there..Manny and Dannette.
Thanks to them I should being going home in a couple days free of COVID-19

My wife was at Kindred Flamingo from Feb. 9, 2021 to May 13, 2021 as a result of a severe case of COVID. The staff were extremely supportive. In particular I would like to bring special attention to Debbie Cochran who was their to assist in every possible way. My family greatly appreciates her kindness and support. Jackie Summers was also very supportive helping with some last minute paperwork, quickly and effectively. Other staff that helped my wife through this tough time were Ray Abesamis (RN), Susan Carmines (RN), Savannah Desir (CNA), Alicia Mikos (RN), Stephanie Dudley (CNA), Annette Mcwhorter (CNA), Carmen Padiernos (RN ICU), Tara Pierre (RN ICU), Joyce Siao (LPN), Connie Smith (LPN), Loren Taco( (CNA), Cody (RN ICU), Fatima Zack (RN). Thank you Kindred and Staff.

I was very well taken care of at Kindred Hospital. “Everyone was very nice, and it is nice to be treated well since you are the patient in need of help. Caring, smiling and laughing is good atmosphere for patients. My nurses M.J., Dawn, Tina, Jerico showed compassion and an honest desire to help with my well-being and progress. Thank you to my C.N.A.s Annette, Joe, Jay-Ar for always meeting my need for ice, water, towels, anything I needed to make and to ensure I received the care I needed. A special shout out to Nancy for always ensuring my room was clean and stocked for any need I might have throughout my stay. Management is quick to respond to questions and issues raised.. A great big Thank you to Deborah who went out of her way to find me an answer on how I could get my hair shampooed.. I feel human after getting my head scrubbed... Thank you to everyone for such great care during my stay.

My son arrived after brain surgery in a medical coma, relied on ventilator, and unable to do for himself. A scary time for our family. The ICU staff was amazing with getting him off of the medications, wheezes him from ventilator and worked with him to communicate with us. They listened to our concerns and helped us understand the process to get him better. My son is now walking and talking just like before and just needs to get stronger. He is happy and loves the OTand PT therapists that work with him everyday. KINDRED HOSPITAL is good at meeting the demands of patient and family alike. I would recommend Kindred Hospital to everyone. They really made this tragedy not so bad and made memories well never forget. THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE STAFF AT KINDRED...YOU DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN SOMEONES LIFE!!!

I would like to take this time to give thanks to DEBBIE COCHRAN for being there for Our Family. She is so compassionate and caring and always making time to FaceTime with our Dad. Making sure that our needs was 1st and always so warming and Loving ❤ Thank you Debbie For All You Do.
Kelly Williams
The administration staff made the transition from the hospital ICU to the Flamingo location incredibly smooth.
Debbie has been a huge relief. We’ve been able to see my brother during FaceTime calls that Debbie handles for us. After not seeing my brother for as long as he was on the ventilator seeing his face was exactly what our family needed. I appreciate all the staff who are doing this job during this very trying time of COVID.
Regina Israel
From the administration to the cleaning crew of this facility has shown the compassion, care, and dignity in helping my family and I with our loved one. We couldn't be more grateful for their service and dedication in their specialty. A little bit of patience and kindness goes along way. THANK YOU!!😁🙂👨🍳👩🍳🏥 …

Kindred Hospital Flamingo
While my father was in Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas we had to find a long term acute care facility to meet his challenging medical needs. Our Dr. recommended Kindred. I looked it up online and was more than a little concerned over the amount of negative reviews, learned most of them were for the rehab side, not the hospital side, (which operates independently) and hoped we would not have any problems. As soon as Denise Beaumont came to visit us at Sunrise, I felt a sense of relief and hope. Dad had been in the hospital for over two weeks by then and I had been dealing with his care, doctors, the nurses and the insurance company, alone and far from home. She explained everything to me, fought the insurance company to get him placed and arranged his transfer. Once we reached Kindred at 8:30 at night, I was amazed at the care, compassion and efficiency of everyone there.
The next day several doctors came to visit him, introducing themselves, reviewing his chart and started making care plans. The patient advocate, Deborah Cochran, came in with a gift bag (notebook, stuffed bear) and asked if we had any questions or needs, she continues to check with me and quickly acts to answer questions and resolve any issues. I had been staying at a nearby hotel and spending all day in the hospital with Dad for the last two weeks and continued this pattern for the first week at Kindred, then his brother and sister in law came from out of state and spent the day with him for another week.
We all felt like he had the care and attention he needed, unlike the other places where I felt like I had to stay in the room all day just to spend a few minutes with a Dr/Nurse/Specialist as they flew by. I could go on about the sad state of the healthcare system, as someone who has spent 25 years in the education system, to me, the healthcare system is just as poorly managed. We have encountered the most wonderful people, all of them doing one of the most difficult of jobs, caring for those they don’t know, and being overworked and underpaid. I talked to several nurses who worked two 36 hours a week jobs. Like teachers, they take no breaks, skip lunch and care deeply.
At Kindred, we quickly developed a bond with the consistent staff that got to know Dad and even better, we didn’t have to explain the history and goals plans to every rotation of staff that happens in big hospitals. They have all developed a relationship with him.
During these past weeks there was a remarkable improvement in Dad’s health and well being. The only complaint he had was the constant barrage of people coming in to check on him! Everyone we encountered was cheerful and helpful. The degree of medical care he received was incredible, we had been in 2 other hospitals and a Skilled Nursing home in the last 3 months and and have a lot to compare with! There are so many people who make our stay as stress free as possible in these circumstances. Bianca, the young lady who cleans his room every day, the people in the kitchen (food is excellent), the cheerful receptionist, the dietician and the sharp dressed guy who roams the halls making sure everything is clean. And all the Nurses and CNA’s are incredible. I finally felt like I could go home and he would be well cared for. They even give you a special phone number and code to check with the nurse, if they are busy, they are great at returning your call. I left a message on a Sunday morning and Ben was there to help Dad clean up for visitors. Most of the bad reviews I saw were people complaining about having to wait for a nurse, sure there were times that the bell went off for a while, but they all work so hard, but it’s important to remember that if the patient can’t manage their needs, there has to be an advocate there to speak for them. As I walked the halls for hours over the last few weeks, I saw many caregivers treating patients respectfully and professionally. I would highly recommend Kindred. Thanks

A couple of weeks ago I was in Las Vegas visiting a friend of mine that was in Kindred Flamingo Hospital. I was really amazed at the care she received. Everyone was very attentive. When she put on her light someone came within minutes to answer it and to see what she needed. The facility was very clean and did not have that hospital smell. I was really afraid that when I went in there after reading all the negative reviews that I would find her neglected. On the contrary I found just the opposite. I even saw people from administration going around and checking with each patient to make sure they are receiving excellent care. You don’t see that even in the bigger hospitals.
My friend was then transferred to the other side of the hospital for more rehab and that is where I realized that the negative postings were about that side of the facility. The nurses and aides are slow to answer the lights and patients are often roaming the halls looking for someone to assist them. My friend didn’t have to stay there very long she was able to go home just the other day.
The reason I am posting this is that when you are posting about how bad the care is at Kindred Flamingo be sure you are putting the Transitional Care side is the one that is horrible because the hospital side is amazing.

Very pleasantly surprised at how nice this facility is! Staff seems to really care about the patients. Everyone is friendly and helpful, from the security guard to the leadership staff, have not experienced any negative people. The food is good for the most part. Parking is never an issue. Rooms are large, bright and well appointed. Therapy staff is fantastic!! Plenty of state of the art machines and facilities. We had one issue with an unscheduled room change but it was rectified by management within a day and there was extensive follow up to insure the problem was resolved. I would recommend this facility -it sucks we have to be here but this is better than I expected.

My Father had three strokes and has been very well taken care of at Kindred Hospital Las Vegas Flamingo. I have called two times every day to check on my Father. The Nurses are always friendly and willing to find the Nurse caring for Dad. I have found the Nurses to be very helpful in giving reports on Dad's condition. They take a personal interest in the patient and the family. One of the Nurses used her own cell phone to allow me to have a video call with my Father! The entire Staff at Kindred Hospital do a very good job taking care of their patients.

I’ve been a patient at kindred Flamingo Hospital for about three weeks now and I’ve got to say this place has been very good. The staff is very nice and welcoming. Deborah and Genoa have been extremely nice and attentive. The CNAS Toya,Ruby,Elga,Chelsea and Savanah are great! I’m here bed boys with several broken bones including both legs, left ankle, right pelvis and all my ribs. I was in a car accident and have many wounds to tend for . Carol and Paul have been awesome in taking care of them for me. The rehab guys RJ,JR and Ruben have been working with me and they are patient and gentle really trying to get me stronger as much as they can . Over all , all these people I’ve met so far have made My stay more pleasant. I have a long way to go still until I get discharged, but I’m sure when that time comes I will be strong enough and well enough to go home . I recommend this hospital 100%

When we were looking for long term acute care for my husband,we were reffered to Kindred Hospital Flamingo.
The moment we came in ,first person we met was a lady from housekeeping who accompanied us to Nursing area, which was quite a ways from her area.Right there and then I felt a welcoming “ vibe”.
We met a very nice smiling Nursing Supervisor named Antonia who toured us around Kindred ,was met by also smiling faces from everybody.
When we finally arrived at Kindred Flamingo ,we were welcomed by Debbie who introduced herself as a Staff advocate., said hello to my husband and was rewarded by a big smile from him.Right there and then I said this is the place where my husband will have his complete recovery.
As days and weeks passed ,I saw the teamwork of the nursing staff,PT,RT,CNA,Nurses helping each other nobody saying “that’s not my job”
I am so glad and will highly recommend Kindred Hospital Flamingo.
Malcolm Minor

And i was a patient art this facility. During my stay i have received excellent care from the staff. I want to specifically point out 3 staff members who worked with me and really helped in my recovery. Rj. Craig anf Toni went above and beyond providing me with excellent care.
Michaele Fitzgerald
I actually have a two part review. Firstly, I am currently a patient here on the rehab side, and I can’t say enough good things about the amazing staff. Everyone from the nurses to housekeeping have just been lovely. The therapists are knowledgeable and kind, & everyone has tried their best to accommodate my needs. Even the food is good! I spent 5 weeks at another Kindred campus last spring-same thing, just wonderful, wonderful people.
HOWEVER, now the “other” review. The pharmacy that the hospital uses, Omnicare, run by CVS, is horrendous. I have no idea how they even got licensed. At one point, I went 28 hours without one of my pain meds, which I am prescribed to take every 4 hours. It literally took 30 hours for this utter failure of a business to deliver all of my medication. To add insult to injury, when new prescriptions were sent, it happened again. Currently, The hospital has not received medications that should have been started YESTERDAY. This “pharmacy” is in town, it’s not like this stuff comes from Japan or something. Just to make it REALLY special, they have lied outright at least twice in their effort to make excuses. This does not reflect well on Kindred, it is torture for the affected patients, and I really fear that at some point they will kill someone with their incompetence. I am not the only patient this has happened to. Really, there is just no excuse. So, yay hospital and staff, and go f*** yourself, Omnicare.
Rita Gallagher
My husband was transferred to Kindred Flamingo after a lengthy admit of nearly 3 months at a local hospital. Within 24 hours it became apparent to us we had made a good decision in choosing Kindred Flamingo for my husband's continuation of care. The hospital displays their core values "The core six" in it's lobby and is practiced by it's staff in a very impressive manor. It is obvious they are a cohesive team, dedicated to adhering to and believes in practicing those values.
Irene Alonzo
Debbie the patient advocate: is awesome. She always lets me FaceTime with my dad when I ask. She’s so sweet and very kind.
Robert Nicholson

Hi Family and Friends... :) I would just like to give out a very special Thank you to Jacki Chase and Debbie and all the staff at Kindred Hospital Las Vegas Flamingo, that has helped my mama(Judy Allen) all these years. Mama has not been home in 4 years as of July 31, 2016 and has been at Kindred almost as long. Kindred has gone above and beyond trying to make my mama's stay there the best that it can be under the circumstances that we have to endure, see mama has a trech in her throat and she is on Dialysis 3 times a week so it is almost impossible for her to come home at this time, but I must say that Kindred has tried to do there best to keep mama's spirits high and some times it very hard to do this. But this weekend Kindred is letting us try something new for mama, See mama misses her kitties very much and at home they were a big part of mama's life and she has not seen them for 4 years and this weekend Kindred has agreed to an amazing thing, they are letting us bring Cuddles, mama's black kitty in to visit mama. Oh my lord, when we told mama this her eyes open up as wide as an owl, I loved it. That made her so incredibly happy and it's been some time sense we have seen real joy in mama's eyes but we saw it today and I can't wait til Sunday we mama can hold and pet her kitty Cuddles again... :) :) Thank you Jacki and Debbie and everyone that takes care of our mama at Kindred Hospital... :) :) Thank you...Thank you...Thank you... :) :) I will post some great pic this weekend of mama and her kitty Cuddles... :) :) :)
