My daughter has been a patient since January (birth), and so far we’ve had a great experience. Staff are friendly, we never wait a long time, and Dr. Barker and the nursing team have excellent bedside manner. This is our first child, and they’ve made us feel very comfortable as new parents. We’ve also used their phone consultation service to speak with a nurse, and that’s brought extra peace of mind.

Palmetto Pediatric and Adolescent Clinic staff members take amazing care of my son. We wouldn't trust anyone else with his care. His doctor, Deborah Greenhouse, is an advocate for children and genuinely cares about each of her patients. From the friendly nurses and front desk staff to all of the other doctors we've seen on weekend hours, this clinic is the best pediatric office, and we'd recommend them to anyone.

Dr. Painter and the other wonderful pediatricians at the downtown office have always taken excellent care of my kids. Our first visit, nearly 13 years ago, was right after my twins were finally able to come home after spending months in the NICU. Dr. Painter has seen us through many serious and complex medical issues over the years and has always gone above and beyond to provide the best possible care. I can’t imagine having any other pediatrician care for my kids. We are very well taken care of.

I have 2 set of children. My oldest babies are 16 and 17 and they are still patients here and they have been patients since they were 2 and 3 at this location. We moved out of state for 7 years and returned with a set of twins. The level of service has not changed! The Saturday clinic is everything; the on-call nurse will always call you back. The best pediatric clinic in the Tri-state area!

What has kept me here was the detailed gentle care of the doctors and nurses, we are always greeted with a smile from everyone even in front office staff, and a quick call back/ appt time. I love the staff at Palmetto Pediatrics. My last visit was at the down town office when I took my two-year-old son for a sick visit on a Saturday. We were seen quickly and the doctor was wonderful. If my children get sick during the week, I never have an issue getting seen the same day at my regular doctor's office. The doctors, nurses, and staff are very nice, answer all of my questions, and they care about the families they serve.

The receptionists, nurses, and doctors are fantastic. My kids never have any problems going to their appointments. My only recommendation is handling the waiting time differently. Last time we were there, we were in the back room, and waited an additional hour before seeing the doctor. I understand unexpected events occur, but keeping those waiting informed is helpful or even offering to reschedule the appointment would be nice.

I am so blown away by the services I receive at Palmetto Peds. I found the pediatrician recommendation via a moms Facebook group when I first moved to Columbia about 9 years ago and was looking for a pediatrician for my daughter who was 4 at the time. She is now 12. It was an easy transition to have my son as her patient as well who is now 5 and is cared by Dr. Bartlet. I went into the hospital knowing she would visit him when he was born and didn’t have the stress of finding a doctor. She was on call that weekend and visited us at the hospital and made sure our first few weeks at home were easy going. From the time he was born to now being a toddler, I have nothing but good things to say. The office staff is caring and shows concern, the after hours triage nurses return my calls quickly, the answering service they have hired is very friendly and informative and Dr. Bartlet always goes above and beyond to ensure my children are growing on track and receives the care they needs. What I love most is the weekend emergency hours and ability to have both of my children seen at the same time for well visits. My daughter is also under the care of Dr. Bartlet. I can’t imagine any other doctor or provider caring for my family other than Palmetto Pediatric & Adolescent. I highly recommend them.

We've been Palmetto Pediatrics patients from 6 months to 3 years, and I've always found the clinic to be well run and every experience has been positive. Dr. Greenhouse is excellent and never makes us feel rushed. She is very good at straddling that perfect line between "I'm taking your panicked internet search results seriously, but also this is what I think is actually going on and it's not a big deal." The clinic staff are also doing a great job. We've had some good experiences with administering shots (as good as you can expect giving a toddler shots to be!) and I really like how the waiting rooms are split into sections so you're not sitting next to a very ill child while you're waiting for your regular check up (not that the waiting rooms are every crowded!). 100% would reccommend.

My daughter chose Dr Barker in the hospital. She screamed and cried and when Barker came in she let him touch her to examine her and she literally cooed with him. The office is so professional and clean and knowledgeable and the staff are hands on and make every first time mom or mom worries void. The same nurse has come to get her from the waiting room since birth and she is now 4 years old. I recommend all my friends to Dr Barker

I love this place. My twins have been going here since birth and they are now 8years old. Dr. Emily Bartlett really takes her time with the children and explain everything in details. She is so AMAZING. I just gave birth in May to my 3rd child and she is her doctor aswell. It’s hard to find good doctors so I’m so happy I choose to have my children go here and have Dr. Emily Bartlett as their Pediatrician. They will going here until they are 18! I talked with quite a few pediatric doctors while pregnant 17 yrs ago but once meeting Dr. Painter, I felt safe trusting another with my kids wellbeing being a first time mom. No confusion, no cutting corners, blunt but professional honesty, and always as it should be, the children not monetary gain comes first. While accepting medicaid, he is conservative and doesn't use the system, again the children are priority. When he's unavailable, his partners have just as much integrity, Thank you Dr. Painter for everything!

Unfortunately our pediatrician wasn't there today so we saw someone else. Dr. Barker was nice but once he said, "I hate wearing these masks", he lost a lot of my trust in his abilities to care for children as a medical doctor. It just seemed very unprofessional! I suggested he try the KN95 I wear- I find them pretty comfy and safe and wear them 8-10 hours a day! To that he replied, "NONE of these things are comfortable ". I almost wanted to say, then why are you in the medical field?! Our regular pediatrician at the practice is wonderful but unfortunately she wasn't there that day.

Could not be happier with this doctor. Dr Greenhouse and her staff are the best. The other doctors we have seen while she is out have been wonderful as well. My son had salmonella and Dr. Greenhouse immediately knew, tested and sure enough it was what she thought. She saw us on the weekend and even called us to check in on her day off. My son also had to get a cardiogram at the hospital for a heart murmur. His results did not come in until late at night. She knew how worried we were and called us at 9pm because she knew we were loosing sleep over not knowing what was going on. This is the kind of doctor she is, she CARES and she is SO knowledgeable. We feel so lucky to have her to take care of our son.

We have used a few different peds over the last 8 years because we move around a lot. We found Dr Painter when my 8 year old was a baby and loved him instantly. It broke our hearts when we had to move and find someone else. No other office was as efficient, no other staff cared as much, and no other dr could even come close to Dr Painter. We have had visits with all the other drs in the downtown office and love them all but Dr Painter will always be our favorite. When we finally moved back we made an appointment with Dr Painter right away and he remembered us and everyone was still great. As a working momma with a babe in preschool, I also appreciate the after hours options for care & that they have weekend hours at the downtown location. Dr. Painter is the absolute best pediatrician I have ever experienced. From my child’s first visit to 13 years later (with added children) we have always experienced high quality care. I never feel like my concerns are overlooked or downplayed and I appreciate that very much. Dr. Painter is extremely empathetic and shows this inside/outside the office. My oldest was diagnosed with cancer and Dr. Painter cried with me when he broke the news to me (he was our doctor for 10 years at this time). He called/texted several times a month while my son was receiving chemo treatments and personally brought items that my son/I needed. My son was in and out of the hospital approximately 6 months and Dr. Painter was there supporting us through our entire journey. This man goes above and beyond for his patients and their family and I am so thankful I found this gem of a doctor just by chance. I pray he never leaves this area because I do not think I’d ever find another pediatrician like him.
