Reviews of Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center Emergency Department

I went in with a complex issue and had a very important wedding the next day that I could absolutely not miss. Adam Racowsky PA and all the nurses were 10/10. They all took my previous medical history seriously and were willing to take a more aggressive approach to make sure we covered everything. With their treatment I was way better within 24 hours and able to attend the important wedding not even feeling sick!! Thank you all so much for quickly turning me around and getting me back for the important life events ❤️

Took excellent care and actually everything went well and the staff were GREAT. The reason for a 4 instead of a 5 star is that as we were being discharged they decided to take one more X-ray. Which was fine. But then after what they said would be a fast turnaround to read them it took over another hour. And we knew the result but had to have the radiologist read it. Really we waited too long.

I was surprised at how quickly my visit materialized into an efficient experience. I was just starting to struggle into my hospital fashion gown after arriving into my little room and the doctor was immediately there! It went quickly, smoothly, and orderly from there. Probably my best ER visit ever (yeah, I’ve had a few….)!

St. Als ER has an incredibly friendly staff. While they are extremely busy they manage the flow of patients efficiently. The staff truly cares. PA O’Connor treated me with respect, actively listened and took the time to explain procedures, results and next courses of action. I received better attentive care at this ER then in offices where I have an appointment and am rushed off. I definitely recommend this hospital.

I didn't feel well, so I took a home test and it was positive for COVID. My lungs and sinuses were very congested, so on the third day, I called Urgent Care.about 4pm. I finally talked to a nurse about 8 pm or so. He recommended that I be evaluated at St. Alphonsus. My husband drove me there and everyone treated me like a long lost friend. My vitals were good and an ex-ray showed that my lungs were clear, despite a congested cough, so I was sent home. Again, the staff were so very nice to me and even waved goodbye and wished me a speedy recovery. I was given material on COVID that was very helpful. I want to thank the staff at St. Alphonsus for the excellent treatment.

I was in the ER because of high blood pressure. The ER was super busy. The nurses were great, took time to make sure I was comfortable and explained what the were doing. The Dr. also took time and on discharge didn't rush over his instructions he answered all my questions . If you should need an ER, I highly recommend St Alphonsus.

The staff were attentive and the care was quick and effective. The only reason for not leaving 5 stars is that I came in for treatment for a migraine and they placed me in a temporary area in the hallway essentially with only curtains separating me from other patients and I could hear everyone and everything going on next to me. Hearing every detail of their care seemed odd. I am glad I was able to be seen quickly, but would have preferred a room where I couldn’t hear so much noise and could turn off the light since my symptoms included light and noise sensitivity. I think it’s due to the construction, so hopefully that is temporary.

I am grateful for the professionalism and care that the St. Al's team gave me this weekend when I was brought into the E.D.. My nurses, Beka and Becca, were exceptional both in their care as well as their medical knowledge and abilities. They represent the best of everything nursing-related and why nurses are so invaluable.
The X-ray Tech that came in for images with the portable unit was also awesome. In the midst of my injuries and pain, she came up with solutions to grab accurate x-rays while minimizing any pain or manipulation to the affected areas.
From an admin standpoint, I was bummed to discover that the referral that St. Al's admin processed was to a spinal surgery center 45 min away (I have no back injury) and that they forgot to schedule my MRI. Small things to improve on.
Nonetheless I am grateful for the nurses and doc that treated me at an above standard level of care. Please extend to them my sincere gratitude.

I was taken in very quickly after arriving and feel like I got excellent care during my visit to the emergency room.
I really thank Dr. Eric Lyall for his tenacity in removing the bullet from my arm as it was in backwards and hard to grip.
I am now (4 days later) healing nicely and mostly without any pain. Marc Poe

I was taken there after a car accident, was treated very well and they were thorough and caring. "One L Michele" is an amazing nurse and gave me the best most comfortable IV I have ever had. Wanted to give her specific kudos, she was really great.

St. Alphonsus, you are always my go-to ER. In general, I would not have anything but positive things to say about my ER experiences, and in the future I would most likely come back again; BUT yesterday’s experience was frustrating & torturous. I had never experienced this in an Idaho hospital.
I was taken to an available room where they administered medication. Although, the kind nurse did advise me that most likely I’d be put back into the waiting room, which I was. But the torturous part about it was that they put me out there with an IV in my arm, loaded up with heavy medications, where I had nowhere to lay down. My eyes were closing, I needed a bed, and it was so embarrassing. My head started tipping over, from side to side because I was falling asleep, I could not hold myself awake. I wanted to go home or at least go lay in my car but they denied me that option so I had to walk around like a crazy person to keep myself awake and I don’t ever want to experience that feeling again. There’s gotta be another way on how to do this.
At the same time, I do appreciate everything they did for me. My wait was about approx 3 hours, in and out. The check-out was super fast so that was really nice. I just needed to recuperate comfortably in a place where I could doze off while I had this medicine in me. I made it home safe.
St. Alph’s ER DEPT; Thank you for the awesome care!
Michael Aleckson
I was very well taken care of , and very soon I may add. I also had very friendly nurses, doctors , x-ray tech. Have no complaints at all. Really appreciated seeing the many crosses that were up very much. Don't see that very much anymore . Thank you and God bless you all working hard at St Alphonsus Regional!

Had a great doctor. Talked with me not at me. Wanted to get to bottom of issue I have. Even searched my record to try to answer questions. Support staff was good. Some a little more capable than others. All friendly caring people.

Saint Alphonsus in Boise is the best place to go and get care. I had to go to the ER on the 23rd I was treated with a lot of respect and they got me back into the ER very quickly. The doctor and all the nurses were smiling very kind. They made sure that I was comfortable in the room and the doctor explained everything to me where I could actually understand what he was telling me.
dianne nelson
I went into the emergency room in the wee am. Everyone from receptionist, nurses & doctor we're great. Helpful, courteous, mindful of my privacy, very knowledgeable, explained every thing in detail so my husband and I could understand. The doctor made arrangements for a follow-up with a specialist. I have never been disappointed with St. Als.
Angela Stout
The dr was efficient and knew what he was doing but it was the nurse that stood out the most, her phlebotomy skills were exceptional! She got a hard vein the first try with only minor pain. I am grateful for her.
Robin Schweitzer
ER Room was dirty that I was put in and very noisy with staff laughing and carrying on. Patients screaming f … bomb all over through er area. All trauma staff was great. RN nurses acceptable other staff could of cares less you were there. Additional tests and results on time. Follow up Dr no response back from them. Overall experience 2 to 3 start.
NancyA Hunter
Dr Harris and the ER crew were super awesome! They were quick, friendly and informative and put me at ease. I have never been in and out that quick before! Thanks for all the good work you all do!
Mike Coughlin
I came to Saint Alphonsus ER with a serious medical emergency. I was expeditiously admitted , evaluated and treated appropriately. The three RN’s (Meagan and Michelle and Rachel) were kind and caring and professional! They treated based on experience in an ER situation and provided exceptional care that was was kind and considerate at the same time. Dr Haussmann. The team leader was excellent in his assessment and his treatment plan. I so appreciate the Saint Alphonsus ER team. It was truly amazing!!
Lexie Merz
Shane, Drew, Tom, Aubrey, Annie, and the rest of the team treated me and my family with such wonderful care.
The staff is incredibly talented and at the same time down-to-earth, which made me feel safe, well taken care of, and comfortable. I am so grateful to them and would highly recommend going to St. Al’s for emergent care.

I was greeted promptly and properly as I walked in the door. Just sat down for a couple minutes and my name was called. I was taken to a bed and immediately hooked up for an ekg and a pick line put in. A few minutes later I was taken for chest xrays. Done quickly too. I was then moved to room #17 and was tickled because that’s my favorite number. (Doesn’t everybody have one) Doctor came in and visited for a few minutes, left to check on all the tests, came in and explained them to me and released me. All very quick and mostly painless. Thank you!

I was sent to the ER by urgent Care.. I usually go to St Luke's but thought maybe Saint Als would be faster.. St Als has very nice and knowledgeable staff, the one thing that I can say that I really didn't enjoy was they take you back they prep you and then they send you out into the crowd in the waiting room till they come and get you and take you back to have done your procedure but they put you back in the waiting room..To me it was just a little embarrassing to be sitting in a chair with an IV in my arm and blankets around me in front of the whole waiting room.. I get the point of them trying to get people in and out faster and have their rooms available but I was there at 1:00 p.m. and I didn't leave until almost 6:00 p.m. I was asked in front of a room full of people that they needed to take a urinalysis and handed me a pea pan and a cup, to me this was embarrassing I think that's something that should have been taken care of behind closed doors. I feel while they are taking measures to have people in and out in adequate times they have taken away all rights to others privacy. The staff and the care I received was caring and knowledgeable. Thank you
Ryan Urch
Involved in a very serious motorcycle accident. Was taken to Saint Al’s trauma in Boise. I was met with some of the most respectful staff I’ve ever come across. They cared for me like I was one of their own family members. They were sensitive to my needs And pain I can’t think the nurses, doctors and surgeons enough for doing such a fantastic job with helping me get back to my life after such a difficult time in my life
JACQUELINE TODD
The ER medical personnel were amazing. They were professional, caring, and helped me with my anxiety during my medical emergency. It is quite apparent that the employees are happy. In my opinion, Saint Alphonsus is superior to all the other hospitals in the valley. Thank you
Tere Clark
I think I received decent care, but I was in there for 7 hours with no offer of blankets or a glass of water. The pain meds prescribed took 2 hours to be administered. They were busy, but a little attention would have been nice.
Blaire Johnston
It was a very, very long process to get treatment due to time of year and lack of beds in the ED. But once a space was available I was treated as quickly as possible and am extremely grateful for the entire team that worked on me and others yesterday. I feel very blessed to be feeling better due to the treatment I received from the St. Alphonsus ED team. Please thank them all for me.

Had the luck to be bit by a feral cat on a Friday of a holiday weekend. Wait was much less than I expected. The team was super organized: from x- rays to scheduling 2nd rabies shot session on a holiday (3 days later). Great follow up on an abscess. I got lucky overall including by going to St A ER and being treated by the team there
Kathy Franckiewicz
I was seen at St. Alphonsus, in Nampa. I was taken by ambulance, as I was unresponsive. After being treated, I was able to be discharged. The doctor & nurses were so kind & professional. I've never seen such a spotless hospital! I've been to all the hospitals in Boise, due to being a Lupus patient. However, the St. Alphonsus on Garrity was a very pleasant surprise! I can not thank them enough for their kindness & care.
Toni Jackson
For a holiday I was surprised how quickly I was taken back and started to receive treatment. The whole staff was wonderful and I would recommend going to this ER as they are professional, courteous and care about getting your issues taken care of.
Jenny H
Well apparently I happen to be a bit of an anomaly because when I walked into the er I was taken right back. Had an IV going with in mins and switched to a room 15 mins later. All the staff was just awesome. The nurses, the gal who took me to mri, the intake woman everyone was very professional and sociable at the same time. Now with that all being said. I don't feel I really know what's going in with my back how long it's going to take to not hurt or what I could do to help it along. And those are kinda a big deal. Granted I should of asked more questions I guess.
Mark Build
I suffer from severe allergies. This was by far the best hospital I’ve ever been to in my life. The staff was very friendly I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. I could not say enough good things about this hospital. Staff is amazing. I only wish every other hospital was like this.
Abhinav Vemuri
Nurses and PAs here are awesome, the nicest people and very quick turnaround. Thank you for everything you did to help my mom recover from her abdominal pain. Appreciate all that you do and the timely advise you shared. Thank you!!
Taya Pathak
I really always appreciate what your stuff does there for me. The doctors the nurses are fantastic and they always help me when I come in and I'm not doing well. I've lived here two minutes from you for 22 years and thank you for always being there for me.
William Alford
Very pleasant experience. Staff were all professional and friendly. The PA was attentive and understood my medical complaints. I felt like I was being listened to, which is rare these days. Thank you St. Als!
Debbie Pacheco
The doctor was wonderful he helped me out every time I go there you're staff of nurses and doctors are great I was very unhappy with the service that I got from the receptionist at the emergency room desk she was rude and when I told her I was sorry for making her upset then she changed her tone a voice. When I walked in it was about 10:30pm and her light was off. Where she sits it was very dark and I said oh I'm sorry are you guys closed and she said "NO we're not closed we're open 24/7 why would we be closed this is the emergency room".
I was in a lot of pain and I didn't appreciate the way I was treated by her I believe she needs to be spoken to thank you
Brent Cornell
I appreciate the prompt and professional assistance I received at Saint Alphonsus Emergency Department in Boise.
They did not take my concerns lightly. I believe Dr. Gibson and the St. Als staff were polite and took time to provide needed information.
Penny Stevens
There was a privacy issue at this hospital. Everyone in the waiting room knew about my illness and the treatment I was receiving. I was given a urine specimen cup and explained how to wipe front to back in front of all the other patients in the waiting area. I had my IV fluids in the waiting room for all to see. It didn’t seem right and I’ve never experienced this at this hospital before.
Cody Schanbeck
I came in with horrible anxiety and even though some people play it off like it's not a big deal, the doctor that helped me was very sincere and helped me right away. She was very kind and sincere. Saint Alphonsus always treats me right
Samantha Tanner
I got pulled back in about 30 mins, everybody was clear about what was happening and what they planned to do, everyone was very nice, kind, and happy. Nancy was great. Very glad I chose Sr. Al's ER over Luke's.
Mary Larsen
They where very busy. All staff went above and beyond. From the feont dest to all the way in back. I had an bad reaction from meds the staff was there to rush and make things right. I diffently be back every time. I appreciate everything yall done for me. Thanks for also letting me 2 daughter hang with me while I was in so much pain.
Serena Barragan
The staff were very nice. It hurt for me to sit down so they let me walk around. It was hurting for me to sit down and the doctor asked me to sit down and I didn't really like that. Other than that things were fine.
laura lee
The care was exceptional. My only complaint would be that a wheelchair was not offered when I left. And I was obviously having problems walking. But other than that it was a very good experience.
Muna Shubbar
Best doctors best staff ever I've been with them for over 15 years each visit I see how lucky I am.
They're respectful loving and caring in all means.
Thank you for all the services efforts and support.
Larry Stevens
Staff & Doctors were great. Everyone cared about my wife's health crisis. Check-in was easy and we were processed quickly.
Lois McClure Smith
Kelly the phlebotomist was outstanding and so was Mikaela the ultrasound technician. St Al’s does a wonderful job training its ER staff to deal with folks who are often frightened or in terrible pain. Kudos! 🎉 …
George Hicks
Having been referred from the Saint Alphonsus urgent care clinic to the emergency room with chest pains… I was seen immediately. I was asked by the staff and the attending physician, Dr. Boesinger, all the appropriate questions as tests were administered… I was released to go home after tests prove to be normal… Every precaution was taken, and I was treated with the upmost care and respect. It was recommended that I make a follow up appointment with my cardiologist which I have done… G.

I was so impressed with the care I received this week!! They spoke kindly, which is huge to me; and, obviously, their knowledge helped me so much.
I thank God for their care.
jerry clayton
I got in right away and was immediately taking care of. They had many codes this day so I was in for a fairly long time, the staff was very informative and very professional. Thank You for your help

Laura LeFavour
I was attended to promptly. Care was given to make sure I was doing alright. The nurses and doctors were very friendly and attentive. Overall it was a good experience aside from the reason I was there. The staff doesn't treat you like you are stupid and they were not judgemental about lifestyle choices. Much more interested in treating the actual issue. I appreciate every one of these people who does by their actions that they truly care.
Helen Banuelos
St. Alphonse emergency medical team provides every measure of courtesy and bedside manner in giving their patients full expertise medical solutions in providing the best medicine and care for each patient, including me. I am grateful for each one of them who worked on my emergency issues. They are the best!

Saved my baby! Can’t stress enough how grateful I am to the staff of this ER who worked the night of August 17th. My 4 months old had difficulty breathing and the staff was very quick to react and take action! It helped him relieve the symptoms within an hour until he got transferred to the hospital.
Les Lamb
Needed a middle of the night X-ray after falling out of bed. So busy they had me in the hall. No problem getting help and I was out in reasonable time. Loved those cheerful faces and patient nurses. Karen Lamb

I feel that the experience to the emergency room at first was very discouraging and painful. I went in with a dislocated shoulder and waited 5 hrs before being treated. After being admitted I was very pleased with the doctors, nurses and specialists involved with my treatment. I heard that the task of relocating my shoulder was harder than they thought. I don't know how long it took but am very pleased that the whole experience is behind me. if it weren't for the long wait in the beginning I would have givin 5 stars.
Bryce Zimmer
They were really nice but they didn’t actually tell me what was wrong with my elbow they just gave me a possible answer. And the. pain was in my bone but they tried to diagnose me with tennis elbow and possibly a swollen bursa sack. 1. nothings wrong with my muscles so that diagnosis was irrelevant. 2. They didn’t even fully examine my elbow to feel the dent in it, and my elbow would actually be swollen if it was a swollen bursa sack, and I had one in my knee so I would know similarly to what it should be in an elbow. My elbow has slight bruising and a concave disconfiguration. They referred me to sports medicine where hopefully i can get a real answer and some advice to assist healing.
Joan Thomas
Everything about this event was 5 star, from the woman at 911 to the ER workers, especially Dr Kroll. Mike at EMS was absolutely the best.
Diana Weber
I had my bed in the hallway because the ER was extremely busy. But I did not mind this in the least! The whole staff was SO great! Friendly and professional. I'm super happy with my experience.
Bonnie Coiner
I was amazed with the calm environment and the excellent, proficient care from doctors/nurses/tech people and office managers! Everyone was very friendly yet professional!
Jinx Sinner
The wait time was really long but emergency does not mean fast. Everyone was really nice not only to me but others around me also waiting for care. All the nurses were wonderful in their care of me and other patients.
June Ross
The night I ended up in the ED, the hospital was overwhelmed with patients. I placed in the hall, then finally placed into a room. I was cold, and right before I was released I got an extra blanket. I realize the staff were overwhelmed, had I known this, I would have chosen another hospital.
Anthony Rygalski
Even with a lot of really outrageous other patients the staff was incredibly wonderful to me and the other patients! Underappreciated but working their tail ends off, extremely grateful for the treatment and bedside manner I received
Kim G
I was able to get in quickly everyone that I dealt with was wonderful! They were understanding thorough and seemed genuinely concerned.
Chris Danielson
Was in severe pain when I left. Still very dizzy lightheaded. When we got home I threw up lot of liquid.. still busy and lightheaded not sure what to do taking meds hoping to get better in a day or two thanks for trying.
Dennis Decker
My ER Nurse Hanna? Was incredible. She even arranged a cab home for me since I'm from out of town and negotiated a reduced fare. Thanks
Chandice M
My ER visit went very smoothly. I didn't have a long wait time to be seen. The PA was kind and knowledgeable.
Patricia Fowler

Fooffy 22
Absolutely amazing crew worked on my issue. And they took initiative to help solve the problem I had been having. I am absolutely thankful for them all.
KEN CJDLOML
I was there to follow up on a recent operation and although the news was not 100% the staff made my visit best possible not that i want everyone to go there but if you have any medical issues i would give them my best review and once again my doctor and staff in the emergency was best i could have had
jeff aggson
The people were nice enough but I didn't really get any straight answer on what was the cause of my issues. I'm still super grateful that I was able to be seen.
sharon clark
The staff at St Al's ER immediately addressed my need for medical help. They were courteous and efficient as they went to work to discover the cause of my symptoms. Various tests were administered and I was made comfortable during the process. I was kept informed during my time there of what was happening and why. I was given written information to take home which was educational and a good reference for later. I think St Al's was the best choice for my care.
Terri Slay
Not the most pleasant. Crowded lobby, people throwing up. No one paying attention to the 60 plus gentleman standing in the lobby in hospital grown showing his backside.
Carol Roy
I had excellent care. They worked with my appointment times. And answered all my questions. Very kind and very helpful.
Crystal Gradian
I went into the emergency room last night and there was a big line . For how busy it was and it was very busy the entire staff handled it very professionally, accommodating and efficient with the time of each patient. My nurse Natalie and Ruben were awesome. They were very attentive to my needs and then make sure that I was doing good at all times. Thank you so much for such a great experience even though I was sick.
Susan Sutton
I was treated quickly. The staff was kind and caring. I felt well taken care of through out my experience.
Lillian Toumey
Thank you to the St. Alphonsus E.R. team for everything! The experience was wonderful on a busy and stressful night for the team. Thanks especially to Abby and Jarred.
Luis Rodriguez

Gail Cunningham
Very good all of the nurses was so kind and doctor was great as usual . I wouldn't go to any other hospital
Claudia Lowe
Compssiomate competent and above all professional. They treated me with utmost respect and explanations of their findings. I endorse their ER facility without exemption for good care.
Christina Van Note
Had a break on my radial head left elbow. Took 3 hpurs to get an x ray and a bag of ice for the swelling. I went in at 11 pm. Triaged at 11:30, x ray at 2 and left with a sling and script at 3 am.
Im grateful for the professionals. knowing they are busy, but would have appreciated the ice a bit sooner. Lots of pain with breaks, and all.
Darlene Terry
I was treated quickly and with care. Given clear direction and had a great experience.
Rupali Kumar
Used their ER past 11pm at night. It was over an hour before I actually got the required treatment but the doctor on duty was extremely efficient and understanding.
Ken Johnston
Everyone was very friendly. And the doctor and nurse explained everything to me until I understood it
Bob Boyd
received iv in artery despite warning nurse 3 times. i was not passive! this is the second time! nurses need to listen and believe ! the rest of the team and the doc were tops.
Alice Whitney
The care was immediate even though it was a zoo in the ER. But this Angel of a nurse from Philadelphia made it about as good an experience as possible when everyone is so stressed out. I pray that Nurse Sunny stays in Boise, we need women like her. Thank you.
Tom Little
my visit although painful was handled very ni ely. my nurse megan was the best and the drs on call were very clear and consice on their assessments thank you
Joseph G. Smyth IV
The nurse was so very helpful in all ways and the doctor was careful and helpful.
Samantha Jensen
The Doc and all my Nurses where very help full and kind my visit was good considering the shape i was in. Thank you
Steve Moench
Very professional and thorough. It was obvious they were dedicated to provide potentially life saving services.
Clarence Goldsmith
Dr. Travis Marshall and the staff was outstanding, went above and beyond. Very professional and friendly. The only issue I had was the final RN I had an interaction with. She came in with my discharge paperwork and to me she seemed as though she would have liked too be anywhere but there. She didn't even offer to assist me out of ER, did not inquire if I had a ride waiting, since I had no one with me the entire time I was a patient. She just pointed and said walk that way and turn left. I had just gotten cardioverted, just woke up from being put under for the procedure and she acted as if I was unimportant, on to the next victim.
Cecilia Arausa
I had went in because I was tested for Covid a week ago and my blood pressure was low. When I arrived at the ER. The greeter was very polite and helpful. I was treated with care for what the staff had to work with as far as help. God bless the nurses and doctors that are doing the best they can at this crazy time.
Corie Bryant
Most staff were good. However the doctor barely communicated and with little detail. I think I saw her twice. They didn’t do well at controlling the pain. I have a very high tolerance for pain but it was beyond unbearable. It took too many tries and no pain med control to get my shoulder back in place until after the 3rd attempt failed and the decision then was made to sedate and get it in. I’m still in pain and having trouble getting records so that I can see an orthopedic as referred by the ER department. It’s slightly frustrating.
Coulton Harmon
Have had to go to the ER for Crohns disease many times. This visit was by far the fastest and smoothest visit.
Mechelle Essick
The wait was very long (thanks to staffing shortage) but by the time I was attended to, I got excellent care. My nurses Jeremy and Michelle were the best!
Sue Molchan
Got great care from the staff even though the wait was really long due to being beyond busy there.
Roy Dye
Very friendly and professional medical staff met me in the Emergency Ward after arriving by ambulance. I was given chest x-rays and shortly afterwards a CT scan of my heart. The medical staff gave me thorough updates and diagnosis of both procedures. I felt like I was in good hands with people I could trust throughout the entire time of my visit to the emergency room. I am so glad I live in Boise with such a great hospital serving the area.
Barbara Hess
I had a very good experience with all the staff I encountered on my trip to the emergency room
Tausha Wilson
I have almost nothing but praise for the staff and care at st. Al’s Boise ED. The greeters and check in staff were friendly amongst the chaos that is the waiting room. I always forget how much psych patients get thrown to the emergency rooms… the staff didn’t show any fatigue and were very polite to everyone, even patients cursing them about masks or just babbling random curse words. I was there for chest pain/leg pain, so they saw me pretty quickly to get blood work. Once my dDimer came back they took me for a CT and when that was negative, I was quickly discharged. I wish I could have figured out what was wrong, but understand the ER isn’t a diagnostic place but for emergencies and once they knew I wasn’t having a heart attack or PE, I was essentially stable. I do wish leg ultrasounds would have been done to confirm a blood clot/check size etc… but also happy to be out of there and very thankful for the reassurance my chest pain wasn’t critical. Won’t be stoked to get a bill, but I think each staff member was professional, kind and I thought the care was great. Truly thankful for all the nurses, PAs etc that have stuck it out during Covid waves. You guys are a blesssing!
Cheri Stahl
We cannot thank the providers and nurses in the ER room enough. Check in was quick and efficient, my son was seen within 15 minutes.
Dr. Shane Marshall, all of the PA’s, the techs and our nurses, especially Jessica, were phenomenal. I cannot say enough good things about our experience. They were so thorough, compassionate, friendly and efficient. They put us at ease. When we left we knew we had received the best care possible. They even called the next day to check in. Nobody wants to go to the ER, but we were in good hands and they eased our anxiety. We will never go anywhere else.
Steve And Irene Winn
I was definitely unimpressed upon arrival. The triage nurse was uninterested and gave me the feeling that i, personally, had offended her somehow. Then, the chairs were taken by I assume the homeless as they were lying across 3or 4 of them making finding a seat a challenge. Ok....I'm up for a challenge- right?!? ( I was concerned for my husband because I have my own that goes with me everywhere).
But I must say, I can see why people go there. The staff from there on out were superior! Very polite, personable and caring. The PA that treated me double checked his diagnosis, came back to the room with a treatment plan, lined up extra services that were needed, all prescriptions and information about my illness. FANTASTIC!
Kandy O'Malley
The people at every point were very nice. They were really busy so my wait was kind of long. But I got good care. The big surprise was when they came in and told me what my co-pay was and "can you pay that now?" Really! I'm laying in the emergency room, in lots of pain and they want payment!
Lisa Fullmer
Every staff member I came into contact with was absolutely amazing. I can't remember the name of my nurse but she was very friendly and totally genuine - she made me feel completely comfortable and made my stay actually enjoyable. She was also compassionate and understanding when discussing some sensitive subject matter. Thank you all so much for taking such good care of me! ♡
Kristen Slappey
Dr. Wilding and Rubin, LPN took exceptional care of me. Checked in often to provide me updates on the diagnostic test results and to see how I was doing with the recommended interventions. Nobody ever wants to be a patient at an ER, but I had a great experience here when I needed their help. I’d trust them with the care of my health again as well as those in my family if needed to seek emergent care again.
Riley Yoakum
Despite my trouble breathing, (why I went in), the nurses and doctors were very kind and calm. They kept me nice and calm as well. The main nurse that helped me out was the best I think I’ve had. I sadly do not remember her name but I do remember her answering any and every question I had about what was being done. 10/10 would recommend
Janae Rose
Cheryl in registration greeted me at the front door of the ER more like a friend than a complete stranger. Even with a mask on, I could see in her eyes how much compassion and concern she had for my well being. She took the time to listen without judgment and stated several times how she hoped I would feel better. Her sincere kindness touched my heart. I felt terrible but in some weird way after talking with her I actually felt a little better. Maybe it was the fact of how comforting she was and again, didn't even know me. I only go to St. Al's specific to Curtis Rd. due to the care I receive at this particular hospital. The irony is, your hospital is the furthest away from where I live but I trust the staff and Doctors at this particular location. Thank you St. Al's for being there for me at a time I really needed quality health care.
Stevens Gordan
I had a ultrasound for vein blockage I was taken care of quickly and the staff was very kind ...thank you very much
Dana Marsh
I was seen in a reasonable amount of time. I had very compassionate Nursing , Dr. And Imaging Tech personnel, who were all very professional. I am waiting for my referral for additional medical staff so my medical issue can be resolved.Thank you!

Having been at St Alphonsus emergency award a couple of times over the years they are so kind and courteous and professional. You always know that they really care about how you are as well as looking out for everybody in this pandemic. I have terrible symptoms first they ruled out the flu and bronchitis, in four days I will have my covid test. The doctor gave me medication for nausea and gave me a thorough examination to make sure it wasn't something else. They let me sit when I couldn't stand up, they kept me isolated away from other people smart for them and for me. Always checked in on me to make sure I was comfortable and okay. As I get older I get sick a bit more often, two times the last few years I went in because pain in the chest, they were magnificent and left no stone unturned. Same yesterday always wonderfully staffed and very compassionate smart intuitive. We are quite blessed to have people like that at an emergency ward. I give the place of 10 star reading always have. I am from New York with hundreds of hospitals and lots of choices. Not so much here so very blessed to have such an excellent staff here. Thank you saint Alphonsus regional medical center

Aside from the fact that they denied me my request for the amputation of my right foot and ankle that are as functionally reliable as a paper match is to strike and light ten feet or more underwater, it was a good experience. I believe they thought in part that I was joking. I was not. Due to a progressive and degenerative hereditary neurological condition that is a VERY large problem on the right side, I was quite serious. However, I will say that their staff was polite, professional, and kind. Excluding the X-ray tech who cared little for the discomfort he caused my already severely pained ankle area.
Tina Smith
Got me right in. Did not put up sides or pads even thought I told them I have seizures. They did allow my aide to come in and help me. The room was clean. The nurses treated me
with respect at first then ignored me.
Transported treated me well. They did all the testing quickly but look a long time for results. I don't remember seeing a doctor just nurses. Registration was quick and easy. I just felt once they heard PNES they stopped worrying
about my fall and hitting my head and ignored me and finally sent me home.
Charles Yount
Excellent service. Considering it was an emergency room, I thought it was extremely fast.
Bryn Hayes
They were smart enough to send me all female staff. Although I was angry enough to demand being weighed, they told me that it was not medically necessary and didn’t. They were right; weighing me was not medically necessary. Much to my gratitude they helped me sleep, the black woman even providing warm blankets at my request, and they didn’t force me to take any medication I didn’t want to. The staff was patient and listened well to me despite my hysteria and my sharing of WAY too many irrelevant details. The police who escorted me were quite kind, especially Matt Janicek. I hadn’t been eating and was concerned l had an eating disorder. So hysterical was I that I demanded being checked into an eating disorder clinic. That was unfair of me. I am eating now and getting back to a healthier weight, and by that I mean I can eat and my weight is climbing again. Food no longer repulses me. My thanks especially to the social worker whose name I can’t dig up. My attending physician was Southard MD, Andrew G. Great job by everyone! I’m taking all my meds and am consulting with my psychiatric nurse practitioner to address the concerns about my meds that you were so respectful of. God bless you!
connor vincent
I wanted to thank you guys for the great Service you guys did everyone was super nice keep up the grate job guys👍🏻 …
Kim Knudson
I went in by ambulance due to a severe vertigo attack after having to pull off the freeway. I had to wait about 15 mins for a room (might have been less) always seems like forever but they were very patient and took great care of me. Staff Checked on me when they could, ran a few test, got me feeling better with meds and got me out of there as soon as I was able to function. Kudos to St. Als ER staff. Wish I had all their names!! Kudos to the ambulance that found me with my friends help and took excellent care of me too!
Rhonda Siegfried
All the nurses, techs, and the doctor were the best. They listened to me and my concerns and all my needs. Even though it took a long time to get any of the results, I didn't feel like they weren't ignoring me. I want to thank them for that
rick johnson
Great help people were very caring and helpful. Doctors were great. Can't say enough
Brad Snively
The recourse nurse Tracy Nurse Hannah and the Charge nurse Sara were fantastic, attentive and calming. The professionalism and care they displayed was second to none. Nobody ever likes going to the emergency department and quite often you never know what you are going to get. My visit was met with sheer professionalism kindness and genuine concern. I appreciate each of them greatly.
Aisha Kneisley
I came in with gangrene and sepsis in my right arm and the people at this hospital were some of the nicest staff members I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. They treated me with nothing but dignity and respect and took very, very good care of me. I appreciate their kindness and their knowledge about how to better me very much. Great people.
Sandra Sandford
Dr. Nilsson has been friendly and approachable, thorough in his evaluation of my knee issues, and conservative with respect to his treatment recommendations. He has also provided me with understandable explanations of the problem and why he’s chosen the treatment he has. Finally he’s taken whatever time is necessary to answer my questions.
Todor Arsovski
I was flown in by a helicopter after I badly broke my leg in the Sawtooths. The helicopter crew did an impossible task of carrying me through a very rough terrain for few hundred yards, and the doctors and staff in the hospital were knowledgable, fast and compassionate. Most of all, the care I received from the nurse and medical tech were as if I was their family member. I am very, very grateful for the staff and incredible treatment they provided!!
Dana Morfin
The staff was wonderful when my parents brought me in to the ER on Saturday evening, May 8th. I had been through a very difficult emotional time and they were considering psychiatric hospitalization.
The doctors and nurses were so kind and considerate and the social worker Kim was wonderful as well. I felt safe during a time of extreme emotional upheaval.
I was willing to go to a psychiatric Hospital facility but no beds were available even by Sunday morning the 9th. It was Mother's Day and with the help of Kim my parents were able to take me home to convalesce there. It couldn't have been a better outcome.
Thank you all so much for taking such good care of me and for sharing my parents that I would be well cared for

I wasn’t very happy with the service I received there. They came in took my blood did a few other things and left. No they didn’t even tell me anything, except that he would check Dr Lefleurs X-ray that she had took and walked out.
They left me with nothing to be able to contact a nurse, watch tv or anything. The door shut. If I was to have a heart attack. I could of died.
I finally seen feet walking by and I yelled at her. She came in and looked to check on my status. That had been a hour of sitting there. She told me I could do my blood again and it would take about 35 minutes. She actually left the hand monitor for paging. Finally after 35 minutes I had to page the nurse and finally they came and told me my heart was good

No one ever wants to go to the ER, but if you have to go, I recommend St. Al’s. Having something wrong with your heart can be terrifying and Dr. Debenham was compassionate, she listened, discussed things with me and I felt like I was her only patient. Every nurse (sorry, I don’t remember names) was fantastic...I had two male nurses who were absolute gems...even the man from radiology was sweet.
These folks have tough jobs, especially now. I appreciate everyone that helped me the other night. I was scared and anxious when I went in. When I left, I had a game plan for the future with recommendations and referrals, I could not have had a better experience. Whoever was working the night of 11/12, big hugs to you.
William Graham
I came into the ER after suffering burns to my face, neck and chest. I was in a great amount of pain and fear, having never been burned before.
The staff was amazing. It could not have been more than 3 minutes before they had me hooked up to all kinds of monitors and administered pain medication.
The care I received was first class. The doctor and nurses did a great job of communicating all the procedures they were performing, not only to me, but my wife as well.
Although I can’t recommend burning yourself to have the experience I had, I would highly recommend St. Als for any emergency medical service that you may find yourself in need of.
Scott
Quick, easy, and everyone from intake staff to the nurses and doctors were great!
Jean Cardeno
After a weekend of camping, I slammed the car door on my finger and ended up at the ER. I was tired, dirty and in pain, but the excellent treatment I received from every member of the staff made me forget all of that. Debra, Nick, Emily and Aprilyn were all wonderful! Nick went above and beyond to keep me comfortable. And after an x-ray and a couple stitches my finger is on the mend! Thank you!
Jeremiah Lamberson
Great considerate care. However the nurse left me without a call light or check on me at all and did not complete her orders leaving everything to oncoming nurse. That’s just lazy and unprofessional. I am a nurse and she should not be in this job. If I was here charge she would be sent to med surge unit to develop nursing skills she obviously lacks. Large tattooed girl worst nurse I’ve had. Everyone else from the money guy to the dr were fantastic.
Jane Buch
I ended up in St. Al's ER yesterday for what turned out to be a kidney stone. First of all, they keep potential Covid patients away from ER patients with a separate entrance for each, which I very much appreciated. The staff was very kind and efficient and processed me quickly. They made sure I was as comfortable as possible while they figured out what was wrong. Dr. Houseman was thorough and very nice. I worked in hospitals for years before retiring, and I would give St. Al's ER an A+.
Michelle Berkebile
The staff of professionals are the best in idaho!!! We were treated so well and the care was outstanding!! Cleanliness of the staff as well as the facilities is a huge relief!!! No smelly people with poor hygiene, clean clothes...a hospital that is always clean and the organization so well tuned it runs like clockwork!! We we treated fast, by highly knowledgeable and caring staff!!! Thank you!! Lynn & Michelle
Judith Middleton
I was blessed, the ER was not busy. I was in and out in about 2 hours. Dr. Peterson was awesome continued to talk to me, keeping my mind off getting stitched up. The triage nurse and nurses in the back were very kind and helpful.
Alyssa Thomas-Navarro
Yesterday, I (Lia, posting from my friend’s account) had to go in to the urgent care and ER. It was a lot, at first. Specifically in the ER, I was very happy with the nurse who came to set my IV, her name was Sarah and she was fantastic. This was the first time I had my blood drawn that didn’t involve leaving bruises or missing veins and needing to restick. She caught the vein the first time and I honestly barely felt it when she stuck me. Dr. Conklin was also very attentive and listened really well, he also helped me feel at ease when I let him know that I had no idea how my fall happened. The nurse who took over for Sarah, Alex, was also amazing. He explained everything he needed from me, was very helpful, and validated my feelings every chance he could. He also got me discharged and out of there in a very timely fashion. Overall, my experience was an amazing one.
Jenn Spencer
The staff were incredible. Kind. Attentive. And it was fairly quick to be seen for an ER visit. The social worker was a lifesaver.
Vesta And Jace
ER visit was actually not that bad from previous years. Still under construction, clean with some blind spots with doors so be careful and keep watch for the signs.
Workers are amazing and to the point! They hear your needs and get you out safely! Thank you!
Patti Mulcahy
Average. The checkin nurse was wonderful she receives 5 plus stars. The rest was average. Checked in about 4 to 4:30 PM. Did not get discharged until 9 PM. That's a long wait. No one checked in with me to ensure I was alright. Physician Assistant was nice but very quick about giving information and/or instructions. I had to ask her to slow down with instructions several times. Oh, the staff in x-ray and CT scan departments were also wonderful.
Jennifer Davis
I have been to the St Als ER a couple times over the last several years with family members and never had what I would call a great experience, but when I was seen on 3/1/21 I had a very different experience. Everyone I encountered was friendly, helpful, and polite. Each person took the time to talk to me, answer my questions, and acknowledge my concerns. This helped me feel I was being well taken care of. Thank you for changing my mind for the much better.
Leemarie Baker
I came in the emergency room with my husband. I was in excruciating pain in my lower back and side. Vomiting. I knew it was kidney stones again.
Every single staff member I seen in those 5 or 6 hours were extremely sweet and caring and very precise on giving me and my husband information about what was going on and why.
I'm still on the mend this morning but my experience at the er room was very pleasant. Thank you
Arourah Cannizzaro
This hospital is nothing short of AMAZING. Every time I have stepped foot in there they have always treated me like I was their only patient amongst a full capacity. Craig, a PA in the emergency department is an incredible and knowledgeable man. He eased all my worries and answered any questions I had. He was in my room more than the nurses which was really awesome and he never made me feel like i was a problem or like i was being rushed out. I've had both of my babies there and each time I was treated like a queen. I love this hospital and I refer anyone that comes across me to them. EXTREMELY better than St Luke's in my opinion.
Aquilina Shearman
I would have given them a 5 if i had left there with a solution or answer to the reason for my very reluctant visit. Prior to this visit I went out of my way To tell people not to go there yesterday however I was treated with kindness and concern amazing bedside manner for everybody who went into my room. I had the most gentle and thoughtful pretty staff. i was set up with an IV and take my blood which is past has caused some serious PTSD episode because of them being so terrible everything about COVID-19 has been devastating however, The changes I witnessed yesterday have proven me wrong ..
Matthew Clemens
I had made a late evening visit to the ER after several weeks of abdominal and chest pains. They didn't hesitate to get me checked in and within minutes I was in a examination room with a team of staff assessing my situation. Bedside manner from each staff was amazing as they actually listened to my medical concerns and symptoms. 30 minutes after my arrival, I was finally in comfort and within an hour, my diagnosis was confirmed and I was given my prescriptions and discharged in relative relief. Thank you St. Alphonsus!
Jayne Nelson
I needed the services of the ER after being referred by a Quick-Care Clinic. The staff were all very professional, caring, and efficient. My experience was better than I had expected. If needed, I’d highly recommend St. Al’s ER for care.
Bev Fraser
Would be 5 star but first try at blood draw was so painful they had to stop
paul bonilla
Quick visit , didn't have to repeat why I was there 4 times. The care was on point , all of my concerns were addressed . I left feeling alot better than when I came in. The Dr and nurses spoke to me in a way I could relate and were very respectful and professional . Couldn't ask for a better ER visit....
Rachel Suchan
I had surgery a couple of days before I went to the emergency room. I had shortness of breath and I was very dizzy. Naturally I was scared because it came on suddenly. They took me back immediately and took extremely good care of me. They listened to what I was telling them and were very thorough about everything they were doing. Every appointment to Doctors , surgery, and emergency visits I have had were all positive experiences for me. They are all very personable , have compassion and truly care. That helps make your nerves calm down and gives you faith in the people treating you. I wish I could give them 10 stars!
Kimberly Teater
I walked in on my own strength to the ER. When they took me back 5 minutes after checking in, the nurses responded to me as if I was not important enough to take care of. I have a very high pain tolerance. They drew blood, started an IV. 20 minutes later a nurse came in and said they needed a urine sample. She was very cold about it. I could barely walk at this point cause of the pain. I still had not seen the doctor. 30 minutes after this the doctor came in. I explained what I was going through. He did orders for pain meds. The nurse came in to give them to me. Told me she would check back in 15 minutes. 30 minutes later I had to call the nurses back in cause the meds was not helping. I was at a 10 by this point in my pain level. The doctor did orders for a more powerful med. 15 minutes later I was still in pain. The doctor ordered different meds again. It finally started helping. Then they sent me home. No explanation of why I was in pain. I went from a 10 to a 7 and they still sent me home with no explanation. I am still in pain with no explanation of why.
Anita Sackuvich
Exceptional service and care. There was a quick turnaround time. And all the nurses and Dr we’re so very gentle and nice , explaining everything in detail before they even got started.
I highly recommend them and will go there again when and if I should need care and treatment.
Teresa Cooper
Everyone was amazing from the MA at the front door for the initial Triage to the PA and nurses and CT Tech were extremely friendly and amazing. I've always loved the staff at St Als .
The one down fall was the nurse at the ER check in desk was very short with me , would ask me a question and when I would start to answer talk over me , she was not friendly and very curt .
She took my vitals and was very rough putting on and taking off the blood pressure cuff , this was totally unnecessary.
Linda Denning
Went to the ER for blood pressure related issues and felt comfortable even in these times of Covid. Patients are kept apart at all times, and I was taken back to a private area very quickly. Everyone from the admittance personnel, nurses to doctors were wonderful, thorough, and attentive.
mitsuki2341
I was terrified and confused and the staff was friendly and kind through all of it and made a scary experience not as scary. They walked me thru everything and were very patient with me. I really appreciate that even with my pain subsiding they didn't just send me home saying I had a panic attack like another hospital did once before. I don't quite remember the nurse and drs name but they were amazing and I would hope to see them a or others like them if I every have another emergency.
Teri Foley
The staff in the ED were great! Friendly. Love them
Karen Lyons
The staff was amazing! Dr. McGee has always treated me with such care! His work is astounding and my recovery has been pretty easy! The CNA McKenna made me feel more relaxed and treated me with such respect. I’m so grateful for Dr. McGee and his team
DAN SPURLOCK
Mostly the care was great, just a little disconcerning when someone was discharged with my paperwork and I spent a additional 45 minutes waiting for him to come back with my paperwork so I could be discharged. Scary that the nurse played it off as no big deal!
Cindy Armstrong
I’m giving the ER @ St. Al’s 5 stars because the medical staff are going thru HELL. My experience was not the best but I gave everyone in that ER total grace because they were over the edge. I realize that St. Als is a trauma center & they get slammed daily but with COVID everywhere this was a good look at what our hospitals are going through. My nurses were thrilled that both me & my husband are vaccinated as most of their patients are not. COMEON PEOPLE….help these warriors out & get the vaccine!! DO THE RIGHT THING!
Esther Gray
I fell and hit my head on the pavement of the driveway and was bleeding quite a bit and since it had barely been 6 months since my brain surgery I knew I should go to the hospital and get checked out. When we pulled up to the entrance of the ER there was someone there asking if I needed a wheelchair. I’d planned to just walk in with my walker and told my brother to watch in case I fell over again but a wheelchair sounded like a safer idea. They checked me in quickly. The waiting room was empty but I could see that most of the beds in the Emergency Department were occupied so they must have found new ways to be even more efficient to maintain social distancing. Everyone was kind and attentive while at the same time being very quick and efficient.
Britta McNish
The personnel took good care of my son after his car accident. The ER was busy but I was still able to find a nurse to help with my son’s comfort level until the doctor was able to visit us. Thank you for your care!
Vicky Lutrell
I was seen in the ED-Surgical Unit and was seen expeditiously, by a knowledgeable staff who displayed kindness to a person that was not feeling my best. They also made sure my privacy was ultimately important to them. Just another reason why St. Als is my hospital of choice.
Raul Gurrola
After spending 3 hours in the ER, blood tests, x-ray, pee in a bottle, ECG, heart monitor etc, not too bad. Great doctor, great nurses & probably one of the best experiences I've had in an ER. Long story short, numbers are high but Dr. Shaub said everything was looking great. Just need to talk to my NP to get b/p meds correct. He said sometimes it takes a while to get them right, but as long as I didn't have any other issues (chest pain, blurred vision, headaches, etc.) I will be fine. Thank you to the sraff so much for helping me last night. They were awesome & very caring.💞
Morgan Jones
I went to the ER on a Friday afternoon with a stabbing pain in my side, as time went on while I was in the ER the pain began to subside. My physician was genuinely concerned for my health and explained why it was important that I continue with the test they were wanting to run even though I was no longer in serious pain. he provided accurate information to me and made me feel comfortable. After a few test it turned out I had an ovarian cyst rupture. The nurses and all of the assistants that were involved were SO KIND from start to finish!!! They even called me the next day after I got out to see how I was doing and if I had any questions. I normally go to St Luke’s but this was an amazing experience and I am so glad I had the staff that I did caring for me. Thank you St. Als!!!
Rhen Ordaz
They did more tests than the last two quicker health care places I went too. They also gave me answers that I can now deal with and recover. Found out i had covid, strep, and stomach flu. I am a trooper when it comes to being sick. I can take a lot. The other two places said everything looked fine but no tests. What ever. Just glad I'm on the mend.
gary parfit
Dr Johansson was great. The staff were all on top of their game. The lobby staff were doing terrific work with an impossible situation of a crush of people in a construction area. All the medical personnel were being stretched while I’m sure the top overstaffed management were holding mindless meetings as per usual.
Aubrey Revell
The staff in the ER were comforting polite and professional. I was taken care of in a timely fashion.
The only thing I have negative is I left not knowing what exactly was going on with my issue. I think for the outrageous amount of money we are charged; we should leave knowing why we were having these experiences. I was told what it could possibly be but not what it was exactly. I feel I was owed a positive diagnosis.
This problem is in every hospital I have ever been in. I do appreciate that they ruled out the obvious possible illnesses. In the same respect I left befuddled.
I give this rating a four mainly because of the staff’s way of encouragement and courtesy.
Who knows maybe instead of thousands of dollars it would have cost me everything I own and some to find out. Just seems like medicine should be more precise by now.
Mike Drury
The best care I have ever received! Nurses were very friendly and courteous. The PA that I saw explained everything to me and answered all of my questions. I was in and out of there quicker than I anticipated. Then, the follow up call the next day, asking how I was doing and if I had any further questions? Great experience!! Thanks St Al's!!
Ryan H
They helped me with a mysterious health condition that was giving me severe headaches. It was actually two days worth of things. They had to do a lumbar puncture and a blood patch. The entire process went smoothly and I'm now fully cured. The only reason I didn't give five stars is because they kept asking multiple times if I had a history of drug usage. That was making me fly into a rage. Everything else went good. My insurance ended up fully covering everything too.
James Moore
Went to St Al’s because of exposure to Hepatitis A. The Staff was very professional and worked consistently to take of getting us our shots. The Pharmacy there could not find our medication and then after it was found it took them close to an hour to get it to the ER for our shots. During this time we were seated on chairs outside the hospital in the cold until everything was ready for us inside. All those being tested for COVID-19 were seated in the same area we were. I would give the staff 5 stars but the hospital I give. 2!
Jennifer Hedges
Our St. Alphonsus ER experience was phenomenal. Everyone was so kind and empathetic and competent! The doctor took his time and explained everything so well and was very patient with us. After spending the previous day at a different ER, the doctors and nurses at St. Al's determined the source of my fathers pain. Thank you so much, St. Alphonsus!
Victoria Harter
I don't know what happened, but going to the hospital is no longer a pain in the but. The nurses and doctors are so nice and helpful. They make sure you're comfortable and are quicker with results. They want you back home comfortable and cared for. Very nice visit.
LB Garvin
Took mom to ER, they put her in the covid side as she tested positive 2-weeks prior. I am her caretaker so they allowed me in with her. (She has some dementia). Dr Kroll was kind and informative. Nurses were snarky and passive aggressive. I realize they are spent at this point in the game. Received a nice call from Tracy at Saint Al’s the following day to check in on my mom. That was much appreciated.
Marilyn Owens
I was very satisfied and grateful for the care I received in the St Alphonsus emergency room on Oct 28. I had prompt attention and within an hour my urgent symptoms were mostly relieved. Everyone was kind to my visiting family. The Doctor was excellent and also explained everything. I was very comforted. Helen is the best nurse ever .
Angie Wyman
I appreciated the 1/2 local I was given. However she said she would be right back to give me the other half of it and never returned. I needed antibiotics and thank god I was given a prescription for them. Bad teeth. And I was checked out before I was even checked ask the way in. So I had to wait to finish registration for a while when I was already discharged.
Nicole Pichardo
I went to the Saint Als ER after 10:00pm to get checked for an ankle injury. I was checked in as soon as I arrived at the ER. I was taken to a separate room within 20 minutes after being checked in. I was seen by the PA on shift and and RN right away and X-rays were ordered. The X-ray machine was brought to my room and the X-rays were immediately taken and reviewed. They determined it wasn’t a break or fracture, but a serious sprain. They wrapped my foot and ankle and set it in a splint, gave me some pain meds, and I was discharged with a prescription and referral to an orthopedist, just after midnight. Approx 2hrs from beginning to end, and very professional, friendly service. I had a surprisingly pleasant experience.
Vanessa Simmonds
My nurse and PA were incredible. They cared, and went to great lengths to help me find answers. Their bedside manner was warming. I felt very lucky to have been assisted by them during my visit.
Matthew Knapp
Went to Saint Al's ER yesterday in serious pain from a resent automobile accident and was treated ao very amazing. I felt I was in the best hands ever every one was so nice and listened and was working hard and aware of everything going on. I hot to say from the moment the gentle man at the entrance was.very kind and professional and felt that way the whole time and even knowing they were short staffed as well. The they kept checking on me. It was best service ever! Thanks team St. Al's
Your patient, Matt K.
Allan Madsen
The staff was excellent in tending to my medical needs.
Launie Ormsby
Everyone there was nice courteous. Got right to the point no bs about it. Lol. They were a hoot. Loved them. Made My stay a bit better for needing to be in the ER.
DEW izDEW
I love St. Al's. Fortunately/Unfortunately I'm a regular there. 1st I'm a severe chronic asthmatic so I used to be in the ER more than I was at home. I also get a shot every 2 weeks to ,now, control my asthma. This will be for life. The people are very personable. Your not a chart #. I've stayed in the hospital so many times that at one point all the nurses on one floor knew my name. They are very professional yet extremely friendly. I've yet to have a nurse with a bad day!! That's says a lit..to me anyway. The food is good too with a menu to choose from (unless you have a restrictive diet). I always recommend them.
Scott Mcmullen
honestly. I was in desperate need of help due to priapism episode. I sat for 2 hours at St Luke's in the ER. I graded my pain eight to nine over 10. but my concern was relatively ignored. I left from there and went to salter urgent Care it was now midnight. salter pre-admitted me to Saint Alphonsus as they were feeling unequipped to assist me. upon arriving at Saint Alphonsus I was brought to a treatment area without delay. and I mean without any delay. I was treated with both compassion and professionalism. I give my greatest appreciation and sincerest compliments to Dr debenham. my young ER tech. as well as the young gentleman who assisted me after the surgery as well as during the surgery. I will never go anywhere else but Saint Alphonsus for any urgent Care need within reason.

I was treated quickly and everyone was polite and friendly! I have edited my review from here on. My son told me that I did in fact see a Doctor of Emergency Medicine. Although I was still in pain as I left, I was given medications that helped me to rest as I got home. We simply had to stop by the pharmacy. They did give me a follow up call the next day. Will follow up at my doctor's office soon!
Zach Smith
Dr Davis was great. The beautiful med student from University of Washington was great. My nurse took time to chat with me and answer my questions. The intake process for the ER was rough. Sitting outside in the cold was brutal....I understand why people have to wait....but put up some tents or something. Pretend it's a BSU tailgate party and you want your guests to stay warm..... overall rating is a 4 out of 5…!
Larry Adams
The Emergency Room was very fast and efficient. All procedures were in place and followed for limiting the spread of COVID-19. The staff was excellent and keep my spouse and I updated and informed through the whole experience. No one wants to visit the ER but if needed be assured that St. Al's is there and committed to providing you with the best care possible.
Cristina Sanchez
I had one of the best experiences the doctor was empathetic, sympathetic and just over all treated me with kindness and care. The nurses were also amazing.
Aaron Jones
For a ER visit things went as smoothly as possible I think, especially for a 3am visit. Staff was happy friendly and did their best to keep the status of what was going on as best as they could. Things were clean and everyone followed protocol for hygiene. If I had to point out something to change it would be the quality of the TV reception. In the grand scheme of things it really isn't important but when you're stuck at the ER for hours and hours the small things can definitely help your situation/mood.
Bonita Hardey
The entire experience from checking in to the efficient treatment process with the fast track system and the outstanding staff I am extremely happy with our visit. St Al's is the very best hospital and ED room in the valley. Thank you for caring for me 😊 …
Rachelle Mooney
All the Nurses were Amazing, fun and good bedside manner. They treated me great and not like a number. I love St. ALS. My 1st nurse that got me situated was so great. We learned that our birthdays were close in days, we both liked this Comedian, Josh Blue and she mentioned my favorite musician Post Malone. She was my Soul Sister. I appreciate everything they did for me while being seen
Thank you to all that helped me during my visit
Jesse Gray
I arrived at the ER and was taken to tbe new ER promptly. The ER staff working were friendly, understanding, and understood the BS I was being put thru that day. They got me in and out as quickly as the regulations would let them. St. Als is my hospital of choice in the Treasure Valley. They do great things for those who are hurt and sick. Ive met a lot of excellent nurses, Doctors, and volunteers who make this Hospital what it is. I can't say enough good things about St. Alphonsus. There are always a few bad apples anywhere you go. Only a few Dr.s over many years, 3 to be exact, were probably good Drs, but horrible attitudes and were less than compassionate
Barb Masitis
I was admitted to the ER by my personal Dr from my Dr appointment. She called ahead and told them I would be arriving and explained that she suspected a stroke or a brain bleed. Nothing happened. I laid and laid. NO vegan food on the menu, and the nurses were non supportive.
Rick Bullock
Outstanding service! Great staff (everyone I encountered). In light of the current Covid19 situation St. Alphonsus Regional Hospital exceeded my expectations. Treated me quickly, with respect and courtesy, and did a great job treating and resolving my brief emergency.
Well done St. Als
Bill Croghan
Had to visit the ER yesterday with a painful abscess. Admitted to ER in, examed, problem resolved in two hours. Staff were all very friendly, helpful and efficient. They even scheduled a followup appointment prior to being released.
Thanks to all, keep doing what you do and how you do it.
Thanks again...
Marcy Bell
Everyone was So Awesome!!! From when I arrived to when I left. Very friendly, made me feel comfortable. They explained everything to me.
Was nervous when I got there. When I left I was at ease.
The call I got the next day. To see how I'm doing was nice (what am I saying) it was Great! Didn't expect it and she was very friendly. It felt good.
Thank you 😊

The emergency room nurses need to be trained better on patient care. While I was in care of the emergency room a nurse came into my room and said she had to take blood, a covid test, and give me fluids and pain med through IV. She never set up my IV or gave me pain meds. Had to wait 4 hours to get a glass of water since I had to get a CT scan. Then I was discharged with three prescriptions. The next morning the nurse calls me. I am so sorry I forgot to prescribe your fourth prescription which is the most important one. This should have been handled the day I was discharged. These nurses need to learn to follow through with everything they are supposed to do and then go to there next patient.
Larry Holmes
Arrived at St Al's emergency room with Pacemaker issues. Was led immediately back to an exam room and hooked up to the monitors. Service was great. Labs, x-rays, and ECG were done. They compiled all of the results and were able to send me home within 2 1/2 hours of my arrival. Very professional thorough and competent. Great hospital.
T T3
They should not have sent me home but they were so packed full they were fighting to get intubated patients into rooms. They actually treated me really well. That's not always the case with having my illnesses. I've been left on floor and other horrific things I won't share in the last 20 years but this time the EMTs were fantastic and everyone at the hospital treated me kind and listened to all I had to say. I'm grateful for such qualified hospital staff this time. They were really great.
Lurisa Sackman
Was treated with respect and addressed as to why there was delays which was due to traumas coming in needing priority. They managed my pain promptly and talked me through the plan of care.
Angel Radford
Kindest and friendliest medical staff I've ever met. Very attentive and thorough! I've never been in and out of an ER as quickly as St. Al's. Thank you to all the staff there
Jim Trickett
I went to the emergency room thinking I had food poisoning. The nurses were very polite and accommodating. They took my vitals some blood and urine samples. Dr Wilding came in and examined me and had a nurse put in an IV. Dr wilding came in after the blood and urine had been examined and informed me that I had a possible kidney infection. Dr Wilding prescribed some antibiotics. During the entire process there was constant communication which comforted me. Other than being in an Emergency Room the experience was pleasant.
Regards. V J Trickett
Kathy Stites
I was checked in quickly and saw ER personnel, nurse, doctor, and technician quickly. Everyone was kind, patient, and took time to explain procedures and results of tests. I loved this hospital. They have always treated me with respect and compassion.
Michael Rowe
I was treated like a king and with the highest degree of professionalism I have ever seen in a hospital. From urgent care to the ER everyone was had so much personality and they were all great. I am from Medford Oregon and I have to say that you all deserve that pat on the back and much, much more. Thank you so much and I hope that I don't have to see you any time soon. Lol.
adam largent
Went into this hospital oh roughly 11pm. Taken in to a room by the Male nurse who treated my sons issues along with his worries with sincere compassion! Before that nurse was finished the Dr. Came in checked him out along with another staff member to grab vitals! Sent off labs..! The fastest and best care I've ever seen by a hospital! Thanks so much! (FAST AS IN DONE IN UNDER AN HR!!!) FIND THAT ELSEWHERE!
Scott Wheatley
My surgery went smoothly from check in to check out. Dr Bryan Anderson was phenomenal and so were the nurses and anesthesiologist. I felt safe in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic because of the hospitals safety protocols and cleanliness.
Sheila Sutton
I realize there were people there that need more immediate help than I did but I felt very isolated and it took a long time to get finished. I asked where I could get my cup filled with water and no one came to help me for 30 minutes so I went to the front desk and the woman who got me water looked like it was a Big inconvenience for her. I was thankful that she did because I'd been running a fever for a couple of days.
Diana Weber
I had had a 14hr day where I fractured my wrist. I was in the ER close to midnight, I was frazzled. The PA that took care of me was phenomenal. She was pleasant, knowledge, and I was confident that I was in capable hands. Shout out to Ryan, RN who made it an enjoyable experience!
Becky Patterson
An anaphylactic allergic reaction to us to the ER late one evening for my daughter. We walked in and as soon as the front desk saw her symptoms they began responding immediately. A wheel chair was brought up to take her back immediately. A team of 4 nurses with all the potential equipment needed to respond effectively to her symptoms and a Dr were in her room before they wheeled her in. The speed and effectiveness in which they cared for her was the best I’ve seen in the many times now we’ve had to visit hospitals for unexpected reactions. In addition to the medical response, each person was kind and patient with us both- especially a scared mom worried about her daughter. I can’t say enough about this hospital and the staff that cares for us both.
Sana Kasumovic
I didn’t expect such great service during a busy pandemic. Even though no beds were available, the nurse Kelsie or Kacie along with her PA Nancy Tate took fabulous care of me in less than 1/2 hr and I didn’t mind if it had to be in the waiting area because I was in awful pain. Even the guy who checked me in was great, very personable! thank you I appreciate you all!
Jen patton
I tripped over a guitar and hit my head on a banjo and got me a nice gash on my head (2 cm) my Husband took me to St. Al's and we got in right away. The doctor and nurses were awesome 👍 5 staples and an hour later I was home. I've never liked this hospital but this experience made me change my mind. So thank you for the good but not so good for me(injury) experience 👍
Sandy Shoen
The ER admitted me immediately. Friendly and patient staff!
Les Cannady
Went in for chest pain, worried about potential heart trouble. Dr treated me like I was only looking for meds until my tests came back, then he was much nicer. All the nurses where great, the x-ray tech was super friendly.
Terri Goold
I went to the emergency room with a bad case of hives. I was having a hard time breathing. I was taken in and I had five or six people around me working on me I'm getting me settled and giving me treatments and shots and an IV and things. All the nurses and doctors were so nice and kind. And they seemed very very knowledgeable too. I will go there every time I have a problem.
Carissa Simmons
Going to the ER during Covid is kinda terrifying to be honest. Especially if you do NOT have Covid.. instead I had a severe case of Strep which required a steroid shot that was only available on the Covid floor.
Thankfully my NURSE WAS AMAZING!! She was the advocate I NEEDED because I couldn't have my boyfriend with me. She called, complained, argues and yelled at the pharmacy 3 times over my medications and steroid shot that was taking way to long for me to receive. There is a huge shortage and demand for the steroid shot due to covid; so it took time to find and mix. My nurse didn't care; in her mind there was 0 excuses for it taking 2 hours. She kept checking on me, helping me and made sure I didn't feel alone!
The doctor I had was alright, but he was quick. He spent 3-5 minutes in my room and most of it was reading my 17 page allergy list sadly. He spent maybe 20 seconds looking at me and didn't come off as super friendly or caring. I know I was in the covid unit for Strep which probably annoyed him. But I also didn't have a say! Urgent Care sent me to the ER & the staff chose where I went.
Because of the nurses and their support, heart, passion and truly caring about their patience St. Al's will forever be my go to Hospital and providers!
Jon Stone
My PA, Craig, and all the nursing staff as well as the administrative were excellent. Made a trip to the emergency room tolerable. Craig was very professional and kind. His kindness really mattered. Thanks so much for the care you provided!
ginny amundson
I had cut my fingers really bad with hedge trimmer! I was very scared what might happen once I got to Er. The ladies at the desk wete fantastic , then the nurse that took me back to a toom was so kind and said do not worry, calmed me down and said the PA Shane McIntyre would take good care of me👍🤗 PA McIntyre was amazing, if everyone acted like him and the other people I talked about, we would have such great hospitals! I am so glad I go to St Als!
Thank you all so much for your kind words and the awesome job ,
Pa Mcintyre did
Melissa Williams
The people at St Al’s ER in Boise were amazing on Saturday. They were kind, compassionate, and patient with me. They took the time to answer my questions, listened to my concerns, and let me be part of coming up with a treatment plan. I was shown total respect.
Jennifer Whittaker
One of the best hospitals I have ever been to. The two times I have had to use the emergency department have been great experiences. Kind caring staff and always treated with respect regardless of having insurance or not.
Patrick Slaughter
When I came in to have some pain checked out. Ot don't take me long to be admitted in the ER. But after that and seeing a doctor and 3 nurses the time seemed like it had taken forever. It seems like I was in there for 3.5 hours waiting on a result I kinda knew about but just wanted to be sure. Next time I'll deal with the pain at home in a quite place rather in the hospital waiting. Other wise the doctors and nurses were good to deal with.
Donna Balestrieri
I went to the ER for vomiting and diarrhea due to chemo and I was treated quickly and with kindness. The Dr and RN were very sweet and got me feeling better pretty quick.
orville hosford
Had to go in to be seen as I was having hard time breathing. They got me right in and did EKG, xray drew blood and had me use nebulizer. My blood pressure was way high so they gave m a pill to help lower and it did. All the staff were very good and their knowledge was very consistent. My visit was very nice and I'm glad they were there for me
Kristy Theis
They took good care of my mother-in-law with dementia. Tests were done quickly and we were really out of there in 3 1/2 hours. However, the waiting room to get in was very crowded.
Oliver Leonnes
They were very timely and kind. They did their job well and communicated things to me clearly and in a way that I would understand. My preferred hospital, has been my whole life.
Desi P.
Was taken to the ER with unknown breathing difficulties. They were extremely kind and gentle with me. I was treated with care and despite not know what was wrong with me, I felt very welcomed and safe.
Possibly Better
I had extensive services provided and had them completed rather quickly. Each service was provided by the friendliest staff and the over-all nursing support was excellent. Very grateful for the education provided to reassure me and give me signs to watch for.
Rosie Weems
Staff was very empathetic and caring about keeping me comfortable and in no pain. Very thorough in their explanations and taking all COVID-19 safety protocols to make me feel safe in the emergency room since I did not have COVID-19 related symptoms.
Sandra Macintyre
My doctor sent me to the ER to get a MRI of my head to rule out a stroke or bleeding. Although everyone I delt with was very professional and nice, it turned into an eight hours plus ordeal.
Between two hospitals, an ambulance ride between the 2, a CAT scan, blood work(twice, one at each hospital) and hours of just waiting, I finally got the MRI around 11:00PM. Around midnight I was at last allowed to drink and eat. Now this all started around 4:30PM and I was released around 1:00AM or so. A simple MRI request turned into a circus! I am aware there are certain prodicals that must be followed, but this was an expensive waist of time.
Theresa Ferron
Nurses were very good and kind. Doctor on the other hand was very impersonal, felt like they wanted to get you out as fast as you got there with out any kind of diagnosis.
Rhonda Stokes
While I received excellent care I left feeling exactly like when I came in. All tests showed nothing abnormal.
I had Covid 19 but tested negative. In researching symptoms on my own I found that I have all but one of the symptoms of what is being called “long haulers” a result of having the Covid 19 virus. No one at ER asked if I had had Covid.
I am sharing this as you may want to consider this when other patients present with these symptoms yet no testing indicate illness.
I feel absolutely awful and frightened that maybe something else is wrong and that I might collapse from the fatigue or have a heart attack. I am normally healthy and strong but cannot seem to overcome this.
Being told that you are ok and sent home is such a helpless feeling when you literally feel like you could be experiencing some undiagnosed serious illness. Please educate staff regarding Covid long haulers.
I have scheduled a follow up with my primary but feel I will experience more testing that will provide no answers.
I appreciate your staff they were wonderful even though they could not help and had no resolve.
No one did anything wrong we just don’t understand the impact of the COVID-19 virus.
I sincerely hope you find this helpful and consider further discussion and education for health care workers regarding “long haulers”.
ryan
The only reason I say 4 stars was it was a super long wait to do anything probably because of covid but wasn't super efficient and 6ft away was being broken by other patients the entire time but masks where required thank God and the staff was friendly overworked and understaffed. Overall I'd say good job and thank you for the help.
Michael Garcia
Went in the the urgent care clinic for my first kidney stone. They were super cool, they sent me to the Saint Al's off of Curtis. Everyone at the hospital was super nice and professional. Really cool to talk to. Although I was in tons of pain, I still enjoyed the staff there.
Cindy Browning
They were very professional. Quick and efficiant and very caring. Besides the covid 19 protocols. Which they have an awsome set up. The care was wonderful, they made me feel my needs were important, gave great referances and listned to my concerns and needs. Thank you to the wonderful doctors and nurses who have hung in their through this so we still get the care we need.😊
Elaine Depauw
Staff was friendly.
I was given a gown that wasn't very clean smelling.
I wasn't offered a blanket until the third nurse who came in the room to shut off some noisy machine finally asked me if I wanted one.
The one I was given had a big stain on it. Yuk!
I was left in the room alone most of the time.
For a big expensive hospital, I felt like it was third class.
Beth Cameron
The staff immediately began a process to alleviate my physical problem. From the reception to the dismissal, everyone was kind, professional & attentive to my need. I appreciate the care & instruction for my health. Thanks to Dr. Lee & the nurses & specialized attendants.
Susan Gillis
I was in tremendous pain and from the ambulance to my discharge from the ER the staff was tremendously caring and took my issue seriously. The staffs demeanor was professional to the point of having a calming affect on me. They all deserve A+'s with me and I am feeling much better today because of them! Give these folks a big fat raise😁
Kelly Parker
Wonderful ER experience. Fast and smooth admitting. PA Craig Dale was great to deal with. Very knowledgeable. No comparison between St Luke's Nampa and ST Als Boise. Helped me with my back problems until I could get in to see a surgeon.
Diane Compton
I didn't have to wait long to get back, it took longer than expected to get the test results. The young man at the front desk seemed very indifferent, possibly bored. The gentleman who took the x-ray was delightful.
Terry Hales
I needed some medical help for an issue I had been having for over a week. I was quickly checked in and was quickly seen by nurse, dr and other emergency room staff. They completed all needed diagnostic tests quickly. Dr provided new meds. All personal were experienced and friendly. Thanks for providing this much needed medical assistance.
Becky Homecky
The doctors, nurses were fantastic. Care totally met our needs and expectations. They were very busy, our care seem to be at the top of their list. We give them A+, including the Admin desk.
kristen vehrs
I went into the ER with a broken finger which was splinted and I was sent home with the suggestion to take Benadryl and a multivitamin once a day. I was very confused why I didn’t get a cast, an anti inflammatory of some sort and/or pain management option.
Everyone was really nice and gentle and have excellent bed side manor.
ashbyventure
I had to go to the ER due to a bad medication reaction, and my experience was great. They got me in quickly, all the staff I worked with was very kind, and overall I was impressed with how everything was handled. Would recommend to anyone needing emergency services!
Millie Thorman
All departments were pleasant and timely. Nathan NP was exceptional in bedside approach, knowledgeable, showed genuine concern. He is a real asset to your ED!
John Holligan
First time to be there for me always for someone else.
Took care of the issue and advice going forward.
Stu Noname
All of the nurses except the rn were rude. I have severe disphasia and need apple sauce or pudding or just about anything to take the medicine you brought to me. One of your staff said " Tough" and said I had to take it with water. One pill went.down well but the other one hung up one my vocal cords and . disolved there resulting in discomfort. Incompetent, as well as rude.
Dorothy Fuchs
St. Alphonsus ER is very well run. Undergoing remodeling made things confusing, but the staff is very helpful and considerate with all the patients. I was seen and treated in a very reasonable amount of time.
Emilio Cisneros
I was very impressed with the staff and the treatment I received. It was a very scary moment going to the ER after being involved in a car crash. But the staff took great care of me and I will always be grateful.
Thomas McQuiston
Am very pleased with the friendliest, professionalism & speed during my ER visit. Am from WA so was a little worried, not knowing Boise, but was quickly relieved of any stress.
Thank you St Alphonsus!!!
Jordan Moore
There was no wait! Everyone was very friendly and professional. Doctors and nurses took the time to explain everything that was going on. I felt that everyone cared about my health and safety. I’m very impressed with St. Al’s!
shannon strozzi
The experience I had was absolutely amazing/ other than not getting out into a room, I understand because it was so busy. However, everyone there including the admissions clerk and Dr were the nicest. Beat st Lukes by a long shot, will not go back there.
Kellie Kinghorn
As a clinician we can be critical of healthcare. I will say EVERY person that had any piece of my care was beyond thorough, professional and made me feel secure in my choice to be transported to the St ALS Curtis location. Thank you all!
Ruth Alexander
Very compassionate which you don’t often see in the medical field so I had a really good experience even though I was in rough shape. They definitely helped and listened to my concerns.
PamelaParness Faiella
dr Shuey is the most important part of the life. She makes sure you are well. The appts. Give me encouragement and a betterment in my daily lifestyle. She is fabulous!!!
Cherie Hammudeh
Tina was taken by ambulance from an assisted living facility in Nampa. Family arrived shortly after and was not spoken to for over an hour. We all waited for 3 hours for a doctor to explain why she was there. She was examined and tested for possible stroke. She was never checked on for 3 hrs in the ER bed- no water or IV administered. We understand it was a busy night but if there was no sign of stroke so she could have been released much sooner and the family notified or spoken to at least after her examination.
David Weaver
Had to be tested for covid-19. The ladies that took care of me while I was there were the most wonderful caring and efficient caretakers I've met. Courageous too. They all deserve everyone's respect and admiration. Thank you all so much!
Traci Johnson
I have an esophagus disorder. It causes me so much pain that I cannot talk only moan. My PA’s name was Jared.. My nurses name was Colby. I have never been treated so quickly or compassionately. They were so kind and extremely efficient.
They truly need to be recognized by your hospital.
Thank You so very much Jared and Colby. You made a terrible feeling woman feel so much better.
Francy Selet
I went in during having hard time breathing. They are so helpful during that time. God blessed them all the doctors and nurses they all work together that night. Very helpful and good team work. God bless you all
Robert Wood
Service was Great but when discharged nobody new were my cane was ,other than that you guy were Great.
Pattie
Everyone I came in contact with in the trauma center
We’re very professional, efficient, and kind!! Especially the PA that saw me for my dislocated finger!! He was great and gentle as he could be under the circumstances! I will definitely go to St Alfonsus again if the need arises!! Thanks to the whole crew!!
Sherri M
My experience was pretty over whelming at 130pm Thursday the 11th of February
Had er doctors and nurses and emt in room when they took my clothing off top part of body
Embarrassing. But had great care for half my time there untill 4pm then no care unless i crawled
Out of bottom of bed and went to hall to get help
They said i go home at 6 so i got dressed and removed the heart stickers and kept going to hall
So they would remove my 2 Ives in each wrist
Finally at 630 the nurse removed my ivs
Sat in er waitng room till 645 then left
Dj Jeffs
Been coming here for my recent cancer and cancer complications (like thrombosis). Everyone has been more than accommodating, from the ER to post-op recovery. 5 stars!
P.S. Personal shoutout to Bender and Sonny in the ER. If anyone can make passing blood clots the size of dinner plates less horrifying, it's these guys.
Rochelle Julian
I appreciate the staff who took care of me while I was there but when I checked out the had a 10 year old address and drug s listed that I don’t use and now when I got my Rx filled it has that old address on it, so why do they check our ID and verify what drugs we take if they don’t update our file
R Tyler
All of the doctors, nurses and staff were great, positive and very helpful. They all were very kind and patient with me and my problems. My thanks to all of the staff, especially the medical personnel.
Lindsey Duncan (TheRambleReport)
I went in for severe knee pain and was in and out in less than two hours. Dillan was the man who did my X-ray and he was very respectful and gentle with my leg. All nurses and the doctor visited regularly to see if I needed anything. This is why I always go to Saint Alphonsus. 5 out 5 Thank you!
Jodi Massie
I was very distressed. I had been seen at urgent care and received no help. So I tried your ER. Your staff was prompt, compassionate, and professional. In less than an hour I was seen and received the care I needed. Thanks for the good service.
Anna Hurst
The ER was actually pretty quick. Everyone was super nice and super helpful! Even though they put me on a bed in the hallway, they explained that they'd rather get me back and seen faster than leave me in the waiting room until a room opened up. I really appreciated that.
Julie Cunningham
Everyone was super nice and
understanding! Thank you all for being so supportive. You all made me feel more brave 😀😎 …
Linda Mitchell
They have a new way of checking you in at the ER which I really like it's a lot faster so you don't spend that much time in the ER to get all of your assessments done
Pamela Stein
All care givers were compassionate and caring. There were patients everywhere, but I was still treated quickly. They were very thorough in finding my issues. I will always choose St Alphonsus!
Victoria Gentleman
I went to your emergency dept because I was quite concerned thinking I might have a blood clot. Everyone from front desk to nurses registration ultrasound tech and PA were fast efficient and awesome. So glad I chose ALS over Lukes and I work across the street from Luke's. Also they got me in, out and that is truly the fastest I have ever been in any emergency dept. Thank you.
K Purdy
I haven’t been to Saint Al’s in quite some time. Wow was I impressed with the customer service of all the staff; friendly, helpful, and caring. I had a great experience there, I was checking in this weekend to the ED with a pneumonia! The only complaint I had was the doctor couldn’t do the consult at check out time, he was sooo busy. Maybe add more drs on weekend? Thank you St. Als!!
Laurie Boesch
Overall, St. Als took good care of us. We got right in, they treated us well and we’re very professional. I would have given them 5 stars but waiting time between seeing a doctor and getting treatment seemed to take longer than necessary.
Shari Theresa Roman
I, my daughter and Grandson are all sick, we have fluid behind our eardrums and the baby has the infection from A terrible flu and fever. We were signed in, checked out and sent back to see the Dr within minutes!! The entire staff is Fantastic!!! So Professional and Personable!! I will never go to any other facility!!!
Benjamin Van Hoogen
Phenomenal experience. Quick and efficient. Staff was kind and professional.
Barbara Young
This is Barbara. I’m writing this for my husband, Steve Young. Yesterday, he was at St. Als ER for a concussion and hematoma caused by a fall on a hard object. His caregivers were awesome! Even in his condition, he commented on how kind and helpful all the caregivers were!!!
Justin Amyx
Fast, professional, and I felt like all the staff and doctors involved were very helpful. Liked it so much I’m going to try switching insurances to be in the St. Alphonse’s network. There was little to no wait and not only did I get treated fast, I was sent home with all kinds of information on the issue.
Kayla A.
I went in last night for them to run multiple tests, the doctors were very little help. They never figured out what was wrong with me but pumped my iv with morphine and fentanyl. I'm still in pain and don't know what's wrong with me. My cna and my nurse were wonderful amazing humans who really did try to help me.
Kathy Zuckerman
Protection against COVID was well planned. I was treated well and my problem was well evaluated. My primary care doctor got information and called in a prescription the next day. Every person at Saint Alphonsis was kind, responsible and professional.
Maxine Gordon
I was greeted in the emergency room and treated immediately. I felt like I got a very good treatment from everyone they listened to what I had to say and what my ailment was and tried to set my mind at ease. Would highly recommend using st. Al's.
Mary Vlandis
The staff and doctor were excellent. They were efficient, knowledgeable and provided the best care I have ever received in an urgent care environment. I highly recommend!
Coleen Howard
I felt safe when I arrived. The changes made for admission into emergency are very well done. At the same time you are greeted with a smile and you are made to feel safe. Thank you for all the precautions during this time of our lives.
Dan Morehead
A bit miffed at both St. Al's and Primary Health, both. Spent all day barely able to move, having to get rides to both, only to have both say they're not sure what's wrong. And thanks to the COVID paranoia, the ER was full so I wound up getting stuck in a frozen Family Waiting Room and rushed thru. Especially concerning when they say they detected trace blood in my urine but didn't follow up to determine why.
Ross Lawrenz
Although admission went well, the cryptic and multiple possibilities not to mention a hold harmless diagnosis was frustrating at best....
Another annoying issue is trying to get my labs and X-ray as a paying patient... jump threw hoops w a form and min of 3 days before receiving them. Is this because I’m not a St als patient?
I promise I will reconsider giving my business to St Als in the future, funny because St Luke’s suddenly doesn’t seem as bad as before!
Mario Pagan
My experience was pretty good, respectful, attentive, I didn't have to wait to long to be seen, and all the people that were involved with my treatment were very nice especially Rebeca (EKG) and the guy of the respiratory therapy (forget his name).
Julie Free
I’m very impressed with the professional, knowledgeable and caring staff. Thank you.
Arch Call
I appreciated my issue was addressed by the nurse and PA in a timely manner, but it did take a while to have the ultrasound. Overall very satisfied with everything during my visit.
Scott Emmart
Well organized, professional and caring staff of nurses, support team and doctors. I was taken care of from the time I entered until leaving. Everything that need to be addressed was taken care of quickly.

They nurses were friendly when I left I made a choice to change my life for the better. I am suffering from depression and have been in recovery from an abusive relationship when I walked out I knew my life was going to get better. Because I am strong and I am normal not just the way I am.

My mother was taken to emergency with possible stroke symptoms. She has dementia but the staff all were patient and kind. Each time she repeated the same questions they answered. Special thanks to Jade

My care was great. The only thing that made it a 4 star and not a 5 star was I had to wait a long time in waiting room and I was in a lot of pain. Dr. Morris and the nurse were great!

I love St Als. You have been my go to hospital for over 50 years. I also worked at your facility 20 years ago. After my visit to the emergency I received a call the next day asking how I was doing. That is real customer service. Everyone is always so kind.

I was in an out very quickly. They were very busy, but I didn't feel rushed or neglected. Staff was so nice and there was no stress. Even with COVID out there I felt totally safe and cared for.

Went to er as per Ruan/workers comp. The service was very friendly. Just uncomfortable of the diagnostic outcome just because the doctors only go on previous episodes they don't specialize in back pain. So you end up seeing a back doctor/ chiropractor to get correct diagnosis.

Every one is very kind, and considerate. The Doctor was in my ER room twice and told me what was going on with my stomach, I had the the necessary tests and was able to go home that night.

Seen quickly. All 6 people were pleasant and helpful. Follow up by phone was comforting. My only disappointment was leaving without a test or confirmed diagnosis. I was treated for back hip and leg pains with inflammation.

First off the emergency room was full of patients..so i thought I would be there all day, But to my surprise I only waited about an hour and the taken to ex ray ...then seen by a doctor and out of there..with 2 broken bones in my foot, fitted for a very nice snug orthopedic boot and on my way All in 3 hours !!! The staff was hustling around but still managed to be patient kind and professional .Thanks to the wonderful staff at Saint Alphonsus off of curtis in Boise you people are great

The experience wasn't anxiety inducing at all. The staff was quick, courteous, and knowledgeable. I will continue to go to Saint Alphonsus whenever the need arises.

It would’ve been an awesome experience if it weren’t for the total failure of our Workmen’s Compensation system which left me high and dry coming out of the emergency room
Sherry Hamilton
Everyone was kind and professional. My wait to be seen was less than 10 minutes. Dr. Martin was friendly, attentive, and an excellent listener.

It was a good trip to the ER. I was able to get in fairly quick and additional services, x-ray and ultrasound were timely. About a 90 minute visit even with imaging. Thanks for keeping the wait to a minimum.

The professional women and men in the ER department could not have been more caring. Everyone worked to keep me comfortable from the moment I checked in, to the time I left. I thank all of them.
