My daughter delivered here because she was considered high risk because she suffers from chronic hypertension. The nursing staff and doctors were excellent from start to finish. Everyone was so responsive and attentive to her needs. Her delivery went smoothly and I'm so grateful for the excellent treatment she received.

My sister had a kidney transplant Saturday afternoon. She's doing well, going home today 10/27/22. Very nice staff, doctors, pharmacist, we had a lovely experience. Only got 4 stars cause they don't validate.

I could say so much on behalf of this teaching hospital. I couldn't refrain from being brief because it's a lot. This hospital is superb and no wonder why they are leading the way in transplants! Their standards of quality of care, safety, and respect cannot go without mention!! As a recent inpatient, I must highlight their genuine efforts to lift your spirits with every encounter, from every level of staff. I've never experienced anything like it in all my years of being sick being admitted to various hospitals in hopes that I would get a transplant from my journey from NC to Maryland over the past 4 years. They are awesome by all measures. The leaders of the hospital must really understand what it means to encompass being a progressive, inspiring, intellectual, and embracing environment. Especially one in which to receive patient care services. And, in particular, as it pertains to the Transplant, GI, & Surgical Teams. They appeared to embrace diversity, be team players, be compassionate, and provided a nice healing & positive environment.

Good hospital for out of box needs.
Steer clear for more typical issues and needs
Past experience says they can not reliably invoice your insurance company!
NEW EXPERIENCE SAYS THEY TURN YOU OVER TO COLLECTIONS BEFORE SENDING BILLS FOR CO PAYS !
Bottom line if you have the latitude in your care decisions, find a community hospital rather than these guys.

Is there a medical group in this city who can invoice and collect money? Trying to pay by phone today and automated attendant does not work!! Are they really just trying to send everyone to collections? JHH like an answer here! Sent you email as well to address posted online.

I had a hysterectomy due to a large abdominal mass and was seen by Dr James Stuart Ferris. The surgery went well and he and his staff was amazing. I recovered at the Sidney Kimble cancer hospital and the nurses and doctors there were amazing. I was treated with care and concern and the entire staff was absolutely wonderful. I came from out of state because I had a family member who had a brain surgery done here and it was highly recommended. I felt that everyone we encountered were kind and helpful and the staff was amazing and gave me the best possible care. Thank you for skill Dr Ferris and your amazing team!

Great hospital, but need anti-inflammatory diet food choices for patients instead of a 1 diet fit all approach to healthcare.

My family had the most wonderful experience at John Hopkins Hospital the week of Feb 21-24th.2022. My husband donated at kidney to his friend. The whole entire staff were great. His nurse Megan Singleton was Phenomenal she was patient, understanding and she was very nice and helpful. It was another nurse as well on his unit name Diane? I thank all the Dr's for your care during this time of his surgery and stay.. 🙏🙏🙏

A few years back I used to visit my mother often at this hospital due to a chronic illness; the nursing staff and my mothers doctor was always on point and was willing to provide services for my mother but however back then I was not a huge fan of the security guard team. Some were very unprofessional and petty, for example one day I came in to visit but first I wanted to go the cafeteria and one security guard that I actually knew personally greeted me and informed me that I had to check in first. Pullum decided to become invasive he started asking who I was; where I was from etc; personal information that was none of his concern so politely asked why was he asking back to back to back questions and that it was none of his concern since I was in the process of being checked in. Pullum became ballistic and began yelling at me saying that I was about to walk past the desk without checking in ( which was false, as soon as I entered the building I was greeted by the other officer) I was in complete shock and reported him to his supervisor; then a day later a random person began to harass me on social Media relating to the incident. After that I had to call and file another complaint, I was appalled by this behavior hopefully since time has past there are better officers working behind the desk I understand that he was trying to do his job; but the way he handled it in general was not the correct way. I did not appreciate being harassed on social media. That was childish. This occurred at bay view

Received excellent care from Ji Young Buethe, M.D. for pelvic embolization.

My child was admitted into the NICU, and I have to say the doctors, nurses and staff were the absolute best. Once my child started recieveing treatment from the transport team, my wife and I felt better and confident in the care they were receiving. Thank you everyone for your help, and care for my child's health, and helping us relax just a little in a time of high stress.

My brother is currently a patient in JH Hospital. I am waiting for a return call from his nurse as to his status. While waiting, I have been reading reviews of this hospital. Very mixed. However, it seems that the ER is the absolute worst place to go if you need emergency care according to every review of the ER. Thankfully I don't live there. I'm in another state. Hope the nurse phones me back soon.

I had 2 stents placed in my heart on 6/7/2022. I was treated by Dr. Peter V. Johnstone, whom I have already reviewed. What I want to do here is celebrate the nurses and the PA who treated me in the Bloomberg Tower, 5 South. I was in the Progressive Coronary Care Unit and the nurses I had were remarkable. Kate and Ariel were the best! And the PA, Tom, was one of the kindest individuals I have met.

I had spinal surgery in November and can’t say enough about the staff. I had read some of the reviews posted and had some reservations, especially since I would be by myself due to the covid restrictions with visitors, but any reservations quickly disappeared. The nurses and nursing techs were caring and helpful. When I was being discharged, my prescriptions were sent to the in house pharmacy but I didn’t have any money to pay for them. The nursing tech took me down to meet my husband at the main entrance and then took me back up to get my medication. She was so pleasant and I appreciated the smile on her face. She was so kind and so caring, I couldn’t have been in better hands. Thank you to the angels who assisted me while I was there. Your kindness will never been forgotten. Stay safe and be well.

Good medical care, but the distance from building to building is often too long and too much like a maze...Staff is very pleasant and helpful.
John Mitchell
Heavely overwhelmed, and drastically understaffed. Aside from the ridiculous wait times, care quality is still an 8/10

Thank you for taking such amazing care of my daughter and I. When one hospital failed us and sent my daughter home with a skull fracture a blood on her brain you stepped in and took care of us. You restored our faith in doctors and the medical system. You eased our minds, explained why every test had to be done what was going to happen step by step. Your entire staff from surgeons ,nurses, doctors, food services were amazing, caring, informative, attentive, treated us more like family then just another patient. Thank you so much and you truly are the best. Thank you for going above and beyond to take care of us and give is the best care possible.

I was referred to a "top notch surgeon" back in 2014. It took months to get an appointment but I was willing to wait. Unfortunately, the visit was not worth the wait. The doctor was lacking in bedside manners and she treated me like a number. She had zero compassion or interest in me as a person, as I was made to feel as if I was intruding on her valuable time. I am still debating whether she was arrogant or just plain rude. I left feeling that the trip had been a total waste of time. Thankfully, the hospital staff was well organized, friendly and polite. The initial check in was flawless and this made up for my poor experience with the surgeon. The hospital was clean and well deserving of positive reviews I had read online. All of this notwithstanding, I was not comfortable with the doctor and decided to select another hospital. A patient should never be made to feel that he/she is bothering a doctor who is being paid to listen, share knowledge, and solve a problem. Any doctor who has such low tolerance for those he/she is paid to serve should strongly consider a new profession.

My little brother was born with Sickle Cell Anemia. He has been seen at JHH since birth and I am more than grateful for all six times they saved his life. All the treatments have been more than appreciated. I love this hospital. This is an old picture of him in the children’s unit, he’s an adult now and is adapting to the new side and procedures. I would recommend this hospital to any and everyone.
Kristi Anna
Best hospital in Maryland. Worth the wait. Nurses and doctors are the best on the east coast. I wish I knew the name of the young lady who volunteers in the adult emergency department with books and beverages. She was so kind and accommodating during our wait and she really loves her job and helping people. I just want that volunteer to know she matters !!

Spending time as a patient in the neuro unit with the creme de la creme of docs/nurses/techs in the world. The food is that of a hospital but the treatment is otherworldly. You can tell there is a culture of excellence in care, all the way up from the cleaning staff. For someone that has lived with neurological damage for decades, you couldn’t ask for a more. Hope for the hopeless.
I’d subtract a star for the terrible parking garage but the healers deserve the full 5.
Leticia Reed
Best hospital ever! The hospital is clean, the staff is friendly, and my neurosurgeon successfully performed a craniotomy that saved my life.

It was very important that I provide feedback regarding my stay at Johns Hopkins. Let me start by saying my soon to be daughter in law referred me to Dr. Chowdhury with the GI dept. for my UC. On 1/8/21 I had a video visit with Dr. Chowdhury, she requested I have labs done. On Monday morning she called and asked that I go to Johns Hopkins to be admitted immediately based on my bloodwork. I arrived around 4:30pm, upon arrival they took a Covid swab and found out I also had Covid. I was in the emergency room surprisingly for a very short time, maybe an hour tops and then I was admitted to my room on the Covid floor. My treatment went from a UC treatment to a Covid treatment then once the doctors felt comfortable, they provided me with a new infusion drug similar to remicade for my UC treatment. I want to let you know that I'm so grateful to Dr. Chowdhury and told her as much, that she probably saved my life by having me come to the hospital when she did. The GI Dept. was amazing throughout my whole time I was there and I was very thankful for that. I had at least two GI doctors checking in on me daily. I know I was a topic of the GI department regarding my UC in combination with my Covid. That made me feel very confident that I was being well taken care of and truly in the best hands possible. I was so grateful to be there with brilliant minds handling my situation. I also dealt with Dr. Bodnar who was the first one to see me, he was great and communicated with Dr. Valda-Toro who was my family contact. I appreciated the communication with my family and his care. I was also treated by Dr. "M" and she was simply amazing. She took great care of me and would make her rounds each day but would also call with updates. Dr. Chowdhury was also checking in on me by phone.
Regarding the nurses, I have many favorites. Let me start with Kira, she was amazing and I very much appreciated having her as a nurse. Amy was great also, she was rotating and not normally on that floor from what I understand. Lauren from Alabama, I can't say enough of wonderful things about her and Michael was so on top of his game! He was very thorough. Angie was also wonderful, she wasn't a nurse but maybe a tech! I loved all my nurses and techs, they provided me such great care and were wonderful. Even the sweet girl that came in to take my trash would always say Hi Mrs. White and we'd chit chat while she grabbed my trash. I always enjoyed seeing her and her friendly smile. I was in the hospital way too long so these nurses, doctors, technicians and even the housekeepers were like my family during the stay. I hope to do something for these nurses and techs on the Covid floor for taking care of me and I plan to call to see what I can do.
Thank you again to Johns Hopkins Hospital, I truly had the best care I could possibly receive and I've been to other hospitals before and you definitely exceeded my expectations!!!
Lastly, I was pretty impressed with the food at Johns Hopkins. I definitely had some favorites, the stir fry and the quesadillas were delicious, I had the tuna sandwich almost every day for lunch and it was great. I've had hospital food, on previous visits to other hospitals and was always disappointed. The food at Johns Hopkins was a pleasant surprise. Thank you again for making my stay a pleasant one when I could not have visits from my family members. It was a good experience under the circumstances. Thank you Johns Hopkins!!!

We had an appointment with Dr. Jonathan Jun at the Sleep Center. He was extremely thorough, evaluating all factors that could contribute to my husband's sleep disturbances. He covered sleep patterns, smoking history, substance abuse, weight gain/loss, pain levels and pulmonary problems. He's sending my husband for a CT scan and then a pulmonary assessment. I was very impressed with his knowledge base.

Johns Hopkins...."Thank you so much". I can honestly say this is by far the BEST HOSPITAL I have ever been to. So very organized. I received emails from them with instructions on what I needed to do and not to do before the surgery date, along with directions on how to get there, parking, and where to go once I got there. The hospital receptionist was kind and very helpful as well.
Yesterday, 9-11-19 I had surgery on my heart. Dr. Calkins and a bunch of other nursing staff were able to do things I never thought were possible. I was given clear instructions on what was goin on every step of the way. I was asked if I had any questions. Surgery went well. Recovery went good and I was able to go home.
"This hospital has got it together." Very organized and friendly. The surgeons, doctors, nurses, are very knowledgeable and definitely top-of -the- notch!! You are in safe hands here. I would give them a 10 ☆ instead of a 5. Thank you again Johns Hopkins for your great service.

I had brain surgery at John Hopkins Hospital in 2019 there staff was amazing . Dr. Judy Haung is the best neurosurgeon. She knows here stuff here staff never once dropped the ball. Kudos to John Hopkins Hospital for an absolutely amazing experience.
Marlene Ball
I started here a recruiting assistant. Tammy Kelly made everyone's life miserable. She made all the recruiting assistants leave . I have also heard horror stories about the Emergency room.
Pamela Paulk will be hard to be replace and Yerilla Kerr Donovan thank you some much for showing that no woman color needs an introduce. It was my extreme pleasure to help project reach some extra funding as your intern.

Let me start by saying how amazing the staff is.
My wife gave birth to our first child at the Zayed building. From the moment we stepped in to the building We were greeted by friendly staff members from check in all the way through birth and even our three days stay due to my wife having a c section. Staff made this experience so worth it as it is our first child. All staff members was amazing but one staff member in particular stood out her name is Sarah, she went above and beyond for us and something bought her presents was comforting we really appreciate how well she took care of us and the baby. Thank you So much!!!

First of all, this hospital saved my dad's life. He was being treated for myasthenia gravis at another hospital that clearly didn't know how to treat this condition. After giving him the wrong treatment he worsened into a full myasthenia crisis. He was finally transferred to via helicopter to John hopkins. The hospital's quick action saved his life. My dad has been to many hospitals over the years and said this was the nicest. We couldn't be there because of covid-19 restrictions but they gave excellent communication (way better than the previous hospital) and even assisted us in setting up regular zoom meetings whole he was there.
Now I'd like to specifically address the care provided by Dr. Arjun Seth a neurologist at John Hopkins. I just want to absolutely rave about the care and concern that this doctor has shown my father. I've been a nurse for 10 years and have worked with many doctors. I've never seen a doctor that seemed to care this much about his patients. He takes the time to listen concerns and makes himself available if further concerns arise. He goes above and beyond.

We had some great and sore experiences at John Hopkins children urology center. Went in for a very stressful 7-8 hour appointment with my 3 month old kid. My and I were both really stressed and we both knew this a invasive and painful test for our LO. Front desk staff were great and doctors were excellent. But one of the nurses who were allowed to us (seems trainee) was very aggressive and had low level skills. Christine tried to do an IV line on my LO and failed miserably, the other nurse did that in 2 seconds. Well, not a problem, benefit of doubt, it’s a tough task to get an IV in a kid. Next, introduction of a catheter.. couldn’t do it, tried 10 times almost on a crying child. The doctor came in and did it in 2 sec. now the connection came loose and it was very clear she used the wrong connection to tap the urine from the foleys. You don’t have to a health care professional to see those connections won’t fit. Christine , the nurse who knows it all, pushed and pushed the catheter till my kid screamed in agony and we begged her to stop. Told her that is not the right connection, oh no her reply was- “sir, this is all we have here”. A hospital which receives millions of dollars grant every year from the feds have one catheter attachment in the whole hospital. And we have to believe that. At that point I am thinking of taking my kid off the table and driving him home. Now the real nurse came in and I told her the issue we are having. Well, magically they have 3 different attachments for the catheter and she figured it out in 2 seconds.
I understand that this is a teaching hospital and all want to learn, but do it with a smile. We are private patients with a good amount of out of pocket expense attracted to every procedure we go thru. You don’t have to be rude. No need of false ego. No one is judging your skills.
By the way, the radiologist (Michaela) who did the test was amazing, finally we walked out with 3 stars, all of it belong to her and those fine doctors in urology department.

I like the doctors but very unhappy with billing practices. I got a specialized blood test done for which they charged $4699. This amount was paid by insurance and me. Then they sent an additional bill for!$ 2955 with no explanation one week later. When I called Business office they said this was fees for pathologist for interpreting the blood test. This is totally Outrageous. Patients seeking care be vigilant:

The staff here is the best I have seen. The nurses truly care about their patience.
The rooms are clean and the food is good.
The doctors are great, very caring and they want to give you the best possible care to help you feel better and get back on your feel as soon as possible
Parking is easily accessible and inexpensive.

When I was 6 years old, in 2003, I had pneumonia and my left lung collapsed. I was very close to death, from what my parents told me, but the pediatric doctors saved my life. I was there for over a week and they made me feel so comfortable and special, that I didn't want to leave. That I remember, and will never forget.

My experience as a patient is fine.
The problem however is patients meals.
Yesterday
Grill chix breast- burned and over cooked dry as bone
Sent my order wrong for breakfast
Breakfast potatoes way over spiced
Today
Recieved half my order
Roasted red skin potatoes....not red overcooked and burned
Other
Carrots not cooked correct and they r frozen carrots.
Salad taste dirty not fresh or crisp
McDonald's is above this food i have been getting
Even if u call and order....u wont get it right
Whomever puts trays together...either cant or just wont read it correctly.
The food sucks
Thank you grubhub for saving me!!!

Had both my boys here within the past two years, they were awesome I loved all my drs and nurses. The staff was always super polite. Here's my issue. The maternity patient rooms are smallish, getting old and the furnitures getting rough and dirty. The bathroom's small and uncomfortable to maneuver in The rooms and patient bathroom/shower reeaally need renovated. I wish I could start a petition for it, I'd pick a closer hospital like the one in my town but they don't know my family history of s.c.i.d's and my sons both were both with very low blood platelets so tbh I'm afraid of going elsewhere. Like I said, drs were always great to me, made sure I under stood everything going on, when my 2nd had to be in the nicu for a few days the one specific nurse who watched him while he was in the was absolutely The best! And also they really should validate your parking if you or your child is a staying patient

A year ago today my experience began. Being diagnosed with chronic heart failure i was transported from Frederick., Md to John's Hopkins. Nurses, and staff were professional and very caring. Even the vampires who woke me up every two hours to draw blood were excellent. I can't praise them enough.

Great Doc. N Nurses. Radiation building no one can go in except patient n there's no sitting area. Only restrooms. The Chemo building they welcome quest of patients to come in n sit while waiting for patients. Lot's of different buildings.

Quality care at it's finest. Emergency Department was clean, & staff were courteous, & helpful. A special note if thanks to my providers, nurses, & assistants . I do realize I may have been unpleasant due to my condition, please forgive me. Thank you for your patience, & standards of excellence.

I’ve had to go to the ER twice this past week though the wait was long it was worth it the first time I didn’t have to wait long due to chest pain the first time but once you actually get into a bed and into the hands of a Johns Hopkins Physician whether it’s the Resident or Attending at all times they were extremely professional and assured me that they were going to take great care of me. I honestly don’t know how people talk so bad about this hospital the care I received this past week has been 2nd to NONE.

My wife was hospitalized for over two weeks at the @ Johns Hopkins Brain Rescue Unit. The doctors, nurses and entire medical support team were AMAZING! The level of care, compassion and support surpassed our expectations.
The team made us feel like family and not a mere patient. Additionally, my wife didn’t have any dietary restrictions and the hospital food was surprisingly good.
No one ever wants to be ill or have to deal with significant health issues. That said, if there’s a place to be during these challenging times, I highly recommend Hopkins. After further review, we found that they are ranked 4th in the world...they are living up to their expectations!

My dad had a major surgery to treat his nerves damages caused by the blood vessels. He spent one day in John Hopkins Hospital. The surgery was able to treat his problem and the nerves damage is no longer interfering in his daily routine. He also really satisfied with the post-surgery care. Thank you!

My uncle had very complicated head and neck cancer surgery performed here and I thought the doctors were incredible. They were emphathetic, sincere, and very astute. We felt like we were in good hands during the 6 months that we stayed in Baltimore. The support staff were also very helpful in helping us to find a place to stay, and took care of most of the issues with our insurance company, which really helped because we were not in any shape to go through all of that by ourselves. We are truly grateful for the care and dedication of the hospital.
Debra Ritchie
This is the best hospital in the United States in my opinion. I travel 3 hours to get to Hopkins to all of my appointments. All the doctors that I see we have s very open communication. They listen to my concerns and they come up with a gameplan for my medical situations. My son has heart issues since he was first born I transferred all his medical records from another hospital to Hopkins and since then he has received one of the top notched treatment and he's know 17. In some of these post yes I hear a lot of negative about this hospital so I personally don't know what you have been experiencing but I do know to speak up if you feel something is not right but on the other hand Hopkins in my opinion is an excellent caring compassion hospital who care about their patients
If you have Mychart you will access to all your medical records billing information and you can send messages to your providers and they will respond to you. If I could give them a 20 star I will.

I went for an infusion and the nurses there are AMAZING. A couple months ago, I had a blood test and I felt nauseous, dizzy and had a horrible headache. At John Hopkins, I was there for four hours and had blood taken every 30 minutes. I didn’t experience any dizziness as the nurse constantly told me to take deep breaths and showed me how my iv worked and the different drugs they were using. I did experience some nausea, but only after I took a certain pill that the nurse told me might make me feel nauseous. The nurse was always checking in and made me feel comfortable. This was my first time getting an iv and the nurse definitely gave me such a positive experience. Thank you Kelly!

When my husband had a stroke, I moved him to Johns Hopkins. Everyone here, from the cleaning staff, nurses, therapist, blood draw people and doctors, has been wonderful! They were uniformly kind, friendly, capable and knowledgeable. I could not have asked for better care.
Jacelyn Young
Phenomenal care for my daughter. We're here every 3 months and the entire staff, EVERYONE, including custodial, reception, security, xray techs, nurses, Drs etc. are so helpful and informative. Everything has always been explained in detail. Our first few visits we had trouble navigating and were helped by the friendliest security guard. We drive from the Maryland/Delaware border because this hospital offers thorough, detailed, caring, informative results. Thank you ALL, for ALL that you do.

Unfortunately there is no choice of ZERO or NEGATIVE Stars for that would have been my choice of star for John Hopkins Emergency Room on Orleans Rd in Baltimore city. "HORRIBLE Wait Time" is an understatement. My sense of humor and absolute trust that God the mighty Healer is at work in our current medical situation is what has kept us. After 12 hours of waiting (with two different blood work and vitals done), we are still waiting yet to be seen by a doctor. Came in at 9:30am it is now 9:30pm. At 4pm we were siting with others who each had been waiting even longer. I believe several people gave up and went home without being seen. Shame on you John Hopkins staff and management for such terrible service. I cannot believe you will also charge individuals, insurance companies and state medical programs for such horrible care in your Emergency Room. DO SOMETHING positive to change this situation asap as it is ruining your reputation.
Lastly stop posting that SAME response below from the relationship manager which only shows only when something negative is posted. It only makes matters worse. I am really diasappointed in the name and brand John Hopkins.
AJ.
UPDATE-
At 10:40 pm We were finally called to the part of emergency room where we now had a bed waiting to be seen by doctor. Walking in the back office area I could see that staff were busily working taking care of patients. Within a short time we were seen by a nurse who took excellent care of us. She also explained that the 60 beds in the ER were full. As they wait for some to be admitted in main hospital or discharged, they also worked hard and professionally to take of The patients. Dr. Ho and the team of nurses were doing their best and an excellent job caring for patients in the ER. We left at 1:40am. Due to their excellent work in the back where we were attended to I have updated my rating.
I think it is important though that at the ER Check in & Reception area, Something Positive ought to be done to communicate why the long wait, manage it well, patients informed and if possible offered water or a snack or something to help calm them down and make them more aware and understanding of the situation to enable them leave with a good impression of John Hopkins Hospital.

I thought they were fantastic!! I had a major surgery there and spent three days as well as multiple trips before hand to be diagnosed. They were caring and prompt with everything I asked for. I would def. recommend them in the future. I was seen in neurosurgery, ophthalmology, and endocrinology. I found them all to be knowledgeable. They always made time to answer all my questions.

I have had two children born at Hopkins and two at GBMC (an affiliate) all Caesarian. We were treated like royalty. I noticed that some more coherent complaints dealt with the E.R. I watched the general patient population. The E.R had reams of people there for minor complaints compared to bleeding wounds and the staff appeared to my eye as triaging the worst first. Many were either drunk or high or on the way down. My bride and I chatted with welfare mothers who were there for free tube tying and who also left because they didn't either have time or wanted a cigarette or were hungry. The nurses treated them the same as we (the highly insured) were treated and I was impressed with their patience and open concern for the best of the ones who were there for free, expensive treatment. We're lucky to have the place here in Baltimore for poor and privileged and those in-between. And the cafeteria - they should cater.

The best hospital! Thankyou so much for helping my love one .we had gone to all the hospital in Maryland all of them would just not care and not get to the bottom of the actual problem with someone in so much pain . but not John Hopkins they actually care about their patients and found the problem and helped us so much thankyou soo much for still actually caring about patients

August 13,2018, I suffered a Heart Attack . I was first taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital where I was quickly Diagnosed with a Myocardial Infarction. i was Transferred to Johns Hopkins Hospital where I had a Quadruple Heart Bypass. Both of these hospitals had wonderful Nurses who rook great care of me The Nurse Technicians gave me wonderful care, Chantel and many other Technicians made sure I felt fresh everyday and they helped me keep myself clean for when my family visited me everyday The hospital sitters kept me safe until I was able to manage myself as I became alert to my surroundings, My family and I have no complaints about any of the staff, they were all wonderful to me, i don't remember all of the names all of the hospital staff but they were all great do remember some of the RNS who sat with me as I awakened from my surgery, the nurse was right there with my Doctor as he spoke to me about my surgery. Doctor Kenton Zayir was a wonderful Heart Surgeon , he came to visit and examine me often during my stay at the hospital. My husband was allowed to spend many nights with me in my room on the comfortably long couch. Thank you Johns Hopkins Hospital for saving my life

It has been over 12 years since I walked out of Johns Hopkins hospital pancreatic cancer free and haven't looked back at the cancer. After two unsuccessful operation attempts along with a month of chemo and radiation at another hospital I was told at that hospital there was nothing more to do and that I had 6 to 12 months to live. Placing god first, my family's support second and Dr. Kurtis Campbell and Johns Hopkins right in there as well I am still healthy and have experienced 3 grandchildren since. The most wonderful hospital and staff on earth! Thank you again Dr Campbell and Johns Hopkins!

Would never go any place but Hopkins. The physicians are the best of the best. It is a facility that is enriched in academia, research and cutting edge technologies. Hopkins provides care that is extraordinary and known throughout the world. It is hands down known as the best in eye care at Wilmer Eye clinic and cardiology. Where else can you walk into a mini international community.

The doctors at John Hopkins Hospital are the best! They always come in and give you information. Anesthesiologist are caring and explain the whole process. The nurses are constantly checking on you. The doctors, nurses, and anesthesiologists are the friendliest professionals I have ever encountered. I don't care much for the employees (rheumatology department) who schedule doctor appointments for you, they made us feel like we were an inconvenience to them.

Jessie was perfect. He works guest services and his customer service is absolutely phenomenal! He makes you forget about the bad day your having! The nurses was also nice (Rebbecca) ! They made my mom feel so comfortable! We love you guys, thanks!

My 14yo daughter recently had to under go surgery at Hopkins. I hate to name any staff or dept as it would make one seem better than the other. TOP NOTCH staff and facility!!! From the pre-op staff, to surgical staff, to recovery nurse, to the nurses on 9N, to cleaning staff, to the repair man that came in to replace the soap dispenser. EVERYONE was kind, smiling, upbeat, yet sympathetic to my daughters needs and discomfort. We spent four days there, I NEVER saw a dissatisfied face, heard a disparaging comment. These folks love their job, ( and are darn good at it) or are the worlds best actors.
I work in Baltimore, I know the area, yes there are questionable neighborhoods around Hopkins, I NEVER was concerned for my families safety on the campus. If you are coming here for the first time, don't worry about what you see coming in, these folks can not be beat. I know now why Hopkins is consistently rated #1 or close to it.
Thank you to the entire Hopkins staff and organization!!!! You are and always will be number one to my family!!
Becky Curran Kekula
They have some of the best doctors in the world here. I had nothing but amazing care before, during, and after my back surgery. In addition, the child life specialists kept the activities flowing throughout my recovery process.

My daughter has been treated by JHMI for several years for her medical condition and has consistently received outstanding clinical care by the hospital. The physicians are superb, the nursing staff exceptional and every individual associated with the hospital kind and caring. I wholeheartedly recommend JHMI to individuals seeking the best in medical care as well as compassion.

The neurosurgery department is beyond comparison. My wife had an aneurism on her brain. For Doctor Tamargo and the rest of the staff (nurses, lab and all others) hats off; they are terrific! One year later and totally clear. If you have a life-threatening problem, don't even bother to go anywhere else.

My dad, my sister, and my stepmom where taken here when we were in a terrible car accident. Great care and excellent staff! They took outstanding care of my family members. I would recommend this hospital!

~ ER Visit ~
In a Sickle Cell pain episode, & the usually 7 day per week Johns Hopkins Adult Sickle Cell Infusion Center was closed today (a saturday) without updating their voicemail message of their closure. So I unfortunately ended up having to come to Johns Hopkins Emergency Room instead. Hopkins' ER is almost always packed & busy with tons of patients, which create long wait times. However, my wait today was far less than it used to be before Hopkins upgraded, expanded, & moved all of its ER units.
Despite Hopkins' longer ER wait times sometimes, if I can't be treated in the Johns Hopkins Sickle Cell Center, I still prefer to go to Hopkins to their ER over any other hospital ERs. Mainly because, for the most part, Hopkins' ER tries it's best to adhere to certain sickle cell treatment protocols & to get treatment started within a certain timeframe after being triaged. Depending on how packed they are, they don't always meet the start timeframe, but for the most part, they do try very hard to do so.

My mom had surgery yesterday to have a nodule removed from her lung and I have been trying to call her from Spokane Washington and everyone I get on the phone has been so rude, I really hope that she's getting treated better

I was at Hopkins for a week following aortic valve replacement. The nurses were great. The Drs that performed my surgery were fantastic. I would recommend Hopkins for any serious cardiac treatment.

The Greatest hospital!
At one time or another we have all been patients. You can ride The light rail strait to The basement. Walk up a few steps, and your right there. The nurses and doctors are knowledgeable and caring. The cafeteria has alot to offer. This hospital is a small city in its self. My wife worked there, at Nelson 6. Hart and lung transplant department.
The Security is top notch. There in booths on every corner and walking through the halls. In the original part of the hospital is a magnificent sculptor of Jesus with open arms. As I stood there looking up at him. It made me see alot of things in my life that needed to change for the better.
Everything in perspective. To see how many people that have touched the feet with a prayer. Have made me think of the history . .. How many lives where extended... made so much better.. because of the research, resource, knowledge and learning with skilled hands. Guided by the best in our nation.
I can not say enough. It is Baltimore's greatest jewel.
Journey Care & Legacy, Inc.
They took great care of my mother in their lung cancer department. All staff members worked together as a team to help her. They also took her in less than five minutes. I'm thankful for Hopkins and their professionalism.
Rosalyn Jordan
All I can say is Hopkins not that good they need improve lots of thing's main thing. They need to improve Hopkins ER . It's seem they still can't get it right. The long wait time it's crazy how people have to wait . treat people and talk to patients like they are nothing. They need to do better that's rea truth !

Hopkins is amazing. From the kind fun and friendly security guard who gave my six year old son a fist bump at 5:30 AM when we got here to the amazing surgeons and medical care team that cared for him before, during and after his tonsillectomy, this place has been absolute tops.
Elliniki Eleftheria Ellas
I had a Traumatic Brain Injury ( TBI ) in an accident in Cairo, Egypt at the Sheraton Hotel, the Hotel supplied me with a doctor that if I had checked into a local hospital I would have been dead or a vegetable, to make a long story short my wife flew me to Johns Hopkins Hospital that literally saved my life, from test results MRI's etc. the Neurosurgeons said I should have been long dead, and call me the walking miracle. The work JHH has done on me no hospital in Europe or the USA could have done.
My family and I, go to JHH for everything medical we do not trust any medical advice or cure from anyone but that of JHH and our GP Dr. Taeho Kim in Virginia. Driving from the DC area to Baltimore is worth every mile. I would not trust any of the bad reviews because Doctors and Staff are outstanding, no comparison with hospitals my family visited in Europe, from Monte Carlo, Geneva, Stockholm , etc. I highly recommend JHH. Stylianos Stylianoudis

Being that JH is the one of the top hospitals in Maryland they tend to be crowded and the workers may feel stressed at times trying to accommodate and satisfy everyone. I have multiple experiences at JH including employment. I use to think bed side manner was becoming extinct but not here. JH truly cares about your needs and what is best for your health. Nobody has a perfect attitude but JH has perfect dedication and amazing views. The Children's Center is amazing!
Sherry Lebowitz

The Johns Hopkins Hospital, a non-profit academic medical center in Baltimore, Maryland, sets healthcare standards in patient care, research and education.
The Johns Hopkins Hospital was ranked as the top overall hospital in the United States for 21 consecutive years by U S News and World Report until 2012, when it moved to 2nd place behind the rise of the Massachusetts Genral Hospital In 2013, it was reinstated as the top hospital in the United States.
