Dr. Rehm is personable, thorough, and honest. He talked me through what the issue was, said what treatment he thought was best, asked me what I thought of the situation, then told me to get a second opinion to ensure I was comfortable, and had confidence in, his assessment. Sending a patient to get a second opinion is not always the case. It further raised his professionalism in my eyes. Many doctors and surgeons don't make that recommendation. I would recommend Dr. Rehm to others.

I can't say enough about this group. Dr. Davis is so knowledgeable, personable and so caring. I broke my ankle and tried for four days to get an appointment with a surgeon. Finally by chance someone mention a friend of theirs had seen Dr. Davis and was very pleased with her and the surgery she had. They got me in the same day I called. Dr. Sheedy provided a 2nd opinion that was miles above my previous diagnosis with clear explanations on the mechanical issues I had with my foot. He provided a clear understanding of what treatment options made the most sense for my individual case. It was refreshing to hear the recommendation that surgery would not offer much improvement but rather PT and running mechanics rehab and retraining. I came in asking for surgery to correct the problem but was given a clear picture as to why that wouldn't help in my case. Didn't see that coming at all but really appreciate the honesty and candor in making the case to me to pursue a non-surgical treatment.

Place was super busy but I was out of there in roughly an hour so that was good. The bad: I felt like everything was really rushed, the doctor spent about 5 minutes with me max. I asked what sort of shoes for my fasciitis and he said whatever I could tolerate. That seemed odd. At the end I was hurriedly given a paper with exercises to do and told to do them hourly. The paper said something completely different so it’s quite confusing. I believe this is part of a large group so it’s par for the course that profit is king.

He has treated my ankle some years after a serious break when it started to deteriorate and offered a treatment plan that has made a huge difference. Dr. Rehm did a phenomenal job with my dystrophic painful toenails. Evaluating the problem, laying out all the treatment options clearly and comprehensively for me to choose, then did a partial nail removal remarkably quickly with minimal pain. Post-procedure instructions were provided verbal and written. As a retired physician who has performed this same procedure many times in the past on patients, I particularly appreciated his technical skills. As further testament to his expertise, I was able attend a gathering of friends just an hour after the procedure, took acetaminophen/ibuprofen once that night, have had no discomfort since and so have required no further pain meds. If you have to wait a bit to be seen, rest assured he is WELL worth the wait.

Where do you start with a great place like this. The office has easy parking which is always a plus now a days... The staff is professional and willing to help you through the complexities of insurance reporting etc. I see Dr. Rehm, he is wonderful. I have had gout problems for about 3 years, once I was diagnosed by Dr. Rehm and worked on how to prevent gout the pain and the events went away. I would highly recommend using this practice. They are professional in every way possible.

Every time we came to the office we were greeted with friendly smiles and waves from the entire staff which was always very comforting for my daughter. After 6+ months of unsuccessfully trying to get help from 3 doctors in East Tennessee. And doctors not listening to me. I desided to search the web. I came across Appalachian Foot And Ankle. I called and Dr Matthew Sheedy was able to see me the next day. I had already had a MRI. I took it along with me. Along with 4 pages of notes of my personal history with my foot. Dr.Sheedy sat and listened and and spent time reviewing my MRI with me. He didn't look it over in his office or in the hallway. He did it right there in the exam room. After asking me a few questions he had me diagnosed with Tarsel Tunnel Syndrome. He explained what TTS is and I could have been more relieved. I finally found MY doctor. He hit the nail on the head. I had 9/10 of the symptoms. I had been so discouraged the past year thinking I was never going to figure out what was wrong with my foot. Dr.Sheedy did my surgery and am now healing. The pain from surgery is no where near the pain I was having before the surgery. I am so thankful for Dr.Sheedy and his staff and office staff. They are all wonderful. They all make me feel so welcome. The wait times for my appointments have been very quick. I don't think I ever waited 5 min in the waiting room or exam room. I have to drive 1 & half hours to get to their office, but I would drive 10. They are worth the drive.

Dr. Rehm is excellent. After being misdiagnosed earlier this year by a Orhtodpedic Surgeon. Dr, Rehm “ listened” to my issues with my food and discovered that I had a torn tendon, “not” arthritis as previously diagnosed by another orthopedic foot specialists. Dr. Rehm has a wonderful bedside manner and I felt very confident and at peace with the decision to have surgery on my foot. In my research and feedback from multiple health professionals, I heard nothing but positive feedback about Dr Rehm’s skills. in addition the efficiency of the office staff from Payton, his assistant, to front desk check out person, Arlene, I can’t say enough about their kindness. After a terrible experience with a different Podiatrist, I went to Appalachian Foot and Ankle for a second opinion. Not only did Dr. Szypczak conduct herself in the most professional manner, her and her staff were cordial, understanding, accommodating, and were able to get me in the same day. I personally don't read 5-star reviews for fear of the review being solicited, however this practice is certainly 5-star worthy and I look forward to seeing them in the future until my foot & ankle are healed.

I don't know where these people who complained went , but I have always had a positive visit when i go to this office. If it were not for Dr. Gregory R. Costanzo , I would have lost TWO ( 2 ) toes and started the journey where parts of me are cut off, until the END. So I don't know what other people went through , but I am thankful for the care I received there. the staff is always pleasant, they laugh at my wit, and deliver kind and thoughtful service , so I am giving them 5 stars , because they deserve it. Sometimes I did have to wait, but after the doctor walked in you realize , his time is yours , and he takes time to take care of you, period . I have been to lousy doctors before , no pre-judge here, no comments about your possible political beliefs, no projection of the feeling that " I am a doctor for the people who have nice , pretty feet, but I Will give you care because I want your money " . This is a great Office and I have Always received the best care I can remember from these guys, So if you want BS and don't mind losing a few pieces of your foot , go somewhere else. This is the place to go if you are serious about your feet and the care you deserve.

After spending thousands of dollars since 2015 to address pain in my big toes, I finally found a podiatrist who has the skills to permanently remove my nail plates/matrices. Previous doctors tried removing portions of the nails and used phenol to make it a "permanent" thing, but none of them were successful. These procedures led to horribly dysfunctional nails that continued to grow in abnormal ways. Two podiatrists denied my pleas to remove the entire nail once and for all on both toes; they said I'd regret the aesthetic later on. Nope--no vanity here! Years of pain and the unpleasant/debilitating process of going through the surgeries (albeit minor in the grand scheme of medicine) will all be behind me, thanks to Dr. Jennifer R. Szypczak at Appalachian Foot & Ankle. I highly recommend visiting this practice if you want aggressive solutions to long-term issues.

I went to Dr. Riehm and he not only addressed the problem but cured me with in a few visits. THis office is outstanding. From the Receptionists..to the Insurance staff...to the Nurses and P.A.'S, to the Doctor, all staff is compassionate, caring, professional and FUN. They truly care about their patients as well as each other. What an incredibly run Practice. I can not speak highly enough about everyone that works there. Professional and personal care. Fully explained my condition and treatment options in a very understandable way, and treated the problem professionally and compassionately. Contrary to previous postings, I found the office staff to be efficient, my nurse to be exceptionally kind and knowledgeable, and Dr. Szypczak to be very personable, professional and accomplished, and very diplomatic when talking about the first podiatrist I had seen who took no x-rays, hastily diagnosed but did not explain my condition and immediately recommended surgery, with no other options. Dr. Szypczak was just the opposite, and the resolution of my problem did not require surgery, and cost less than $200 as opposed to thousands of dollars for surgery.

I have had a foot problem for years. I went to an orthopedic surgeon and another podiatrist and was not satisfied with either of their suggestions. I decided to consult Dr. Costanzo for another opinion. I am an RN so I know quite a lot of medical information and Dr. Costanzo was professional and very knowledgeable about my problem. His solution was logical and non-invasive. The office staff was very accommodating, especially the office manager who is responsible for billing, as my insurance has a co-pay, but the bill must be submitted first before the co-pay is decided. I explained the situation to her and she told me it would not be a problem. I will see Dr. Costanzo again if my problem becomes more difficult to deal with and will follow his recommendations.

I cannot say enough good things about the care and skill of Dr. Costanzo and his office staff. He has been keeping me and family members on our feet for years to include foot surgery. Along with that they have been generous to donate items for medical mission trips we have been on. I first met him about 20 years ago when he came to the nursing home where I worked to give care to the patient's feet. It takes a special person to do that. Another thing I appreciate is he tries different options before going to surgery or something more expensive. You would not do wrong to get your care at their offices.

I am so thankful to have found Dr. Szypczak after months of pain and infection from a botched ingrown toenail procedure in Florida! The result was night and day! I was so pleased. Dr. Szypczak has a calm, patient and reassuring manner. She removed the part of the toenail the first podiatrist had left behind (nearly a third of the ingrown edge) including the part beyond the lower cuticle! The whole procedure was painless, as was my toe a day later. This time it hasn’t bled since the first bandage was replaced, not has it hurt in the 6 days since the procedure! She was wonderful! After utilizing this practice for over 20 years, today I am comtemplating changing providers. It is poor office management to have only one individual that can handle money, write checks, fill out disability forms, etc. When an emergency arises those functions of the office shut down and has personally affected me.The individual that handles these issues is very nonchalant about how missing checks and disability papers not being filled out affects individuals. There is not a demonstrated caring. Curtness and avoidance are demonstrated. It is such a shame that one individual is allowed to affect how the entire practice is perceived.
