Jose is a miracle worker. He is kind, patient, and extremely knowledgeable of his craft. He took my hair from a brassy, damaged, and flat brown to a brilliant black and purple bayalage. We spoke on the phone beforehand to map out exactly what I wanted, and the steps necessary to make it happen. Jose made sure to share the entire process with me so I knew exactly what to expect. He dedicated an immense amount of time and effort to do my hair, and he made sure to care for my fragile locks every step of the way. I have spent WAY more money at higher-end salons and come home not nearly as happy with the end result. Jose was able to lift, treat, and color my hair and it feels healthier than ever. Beyond his professional abilities, Jose is a great conversationalist and a genuine human being. The processing hours went by very quickly! I will definitely be back!

I have naturally dark hair, but I love the bleach blonde look, and have been bleaching my hair for YEARS…my blondes have always ranged from white to brassy colors over the years. Sometimes having a rainbow of multiple shades of blonde Just because that’s how it ends up…my visit today, was last minute…I’m visiting FL from WI and had some time to spare…I walked in and Jose got me in almost right away! I told him about my issues with psoriasis and how my scalp reacts terribly painful with toner. He proceeds with the bleaching and then my heat processing while he continues on with another customer…Everyone here is like family! Laughing, talking, hugging…he finally gets me to the sink and lets me Know that he’s prepared a special toner for me that will pull some of my brassiness out and to let him know if it’s starts to hurt too bad…NO BURN!!! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! This is the ONLY time I’ve ever not wanted to shoot myself in the foot to make the pain stop…after a completely painless experience, we go back to the chair so he can blow dry, flat iron and trim. We have a very nice conversation The entire time about family, friends, Everything…we get to the trim part and he asks me to stand up…so I do, and he cut my hair while I’m standing…I didn’t even know that was a thing!! I’m 40 and this has never happened before…my hair is ABSOLUTELY perfect!!! I am telling you…I am going to start traveling from WI to FL just to have my hair done by Jose!! This was a FANTASTIC experience for me!!

Jose is wonderful!! ✨✨ ✨ I’ve been coming to this location for years and finally had the pleasure of sitting in Jose’s booth and that’s all it took… I found my go to person! 🙌🏽 Though I only get a shampoo and basic straight across cut (every-time haha) he still makes my time worth while even if I call to come in on short notice. 😂🙈 He’s always so sweet, knowledgeable and considerate. Definitely a gem within the salon. 😇 This is the only place I get my hair cut, and Jose is my guy. 👍🏽

Anthony has not been there as long as some others, so won't see alot of reviews for him... but I have been coming here for a few years and this is the first time for me to review. He has cut and styled my hair twice now. You can tell how much experience he brings by how he handles your hair. My hair always feels healthy and looks beautiful when I leave! He works Sundays and Mondays. Go see him. You won't regret it!

He gave me exactly what I wanted even if I was unclear or originally neglected to mention my undercut. So my very first hair color experience .. couldn't have been better... Fantastic Sams made my day. VERY PROFESSIONAL and super kind. I had an appointment with Emily, and she is professional, hard working and knows what she is doing. She made it a point to listen to my requirements and give good advice based on her experience. Given that my hair is jet black and very voluminous, it took over 2.5 hrs, and she was nothing but kind and patient. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER!! The place is clean and staff is friendly. I've been wanting too do it for over a year and I have to admit I was a little nervous to do such a drastic change but David was AMAZING!!! my hair color turned out better than I could've ever imagined. I am greatly satisfied with the results, Jose is such a great hair stylist. He was able to understand my type of hair and we created a hair style that works for me. He recommended some products that I am still using today that have really rescued my hair since I had very dry and Frizzy hair. Before this salon It took me some time to find someone I am comfortable with that works well with many hair types and I’m so glad I was able to find a great salon with professional people that actually care about their clients. My friend recommended I see Jose to get my hair cut but I was blown away with the results! He made a point to talk to me about my hair needs before even starting my hair! He also washed, blow dried, and straightened my hair before my cut and I’ve never had a more clean cut in my life! If you have been looking for a stylist or hair color expert, you need to check out Jose at Fantastic Sam located in the Carrollwood Village Shopping Center. I had been jumping from salon to salon for years, unable to find a stylist that I felt comfortable with. A friend told me about Jose at Fantastic Sams. I recently received a very bad haircut and dye job that left me with VERY uneven hair and a chemically burned scalp. I called up Fantastic Sams for a quick fix and was so pleasantly surprised! I spoke with David first who was so sweet but was booked solid. I asked him for anyone else who could just cut a straight line. He assured me everyone there did great work and could definitely cut in a straight line. He gave me Anita's name and I'm so glad he did. She did an amazing job!! I told her everything that had happened just a few days before. She was so nice and so gentle with my very tender scalp since it is burned like a horrible sunburn. She must have checked my hair no less than 5 times to make sure that everything was even, which sounds like a basic thing but it's been years since my regular stylist had done this. And she had me check it before I left to make sure I was happy with it. I really can't thank Anita enough for doing such a great job on my hair and will definitely be back to see her! Also while I was there I was looking at the other ladies' hair that was getting done and they looked beautiful! This really is a great salon!

I have never done a review on a business before, but wanted to write this review for Fantastic Sams and Jose Bautista. I went to Jose last year to get my haircut. I have lived in Tampa my whole life and never knew there was a Fantastic Sams at that location. I found out about him by doing a search for salons near me and Fantastic Sams was one of the ones that showed up on Google. I read the reviews and the reviews on Jose were really good, so I decided to call and went in to talk to him. Everyone has gotten a bad haircut and I got one last year on my birthday and explained that to Jose. I talked to him told him and showed him pictures of how I wanted my hair done. I have naturally curly and wavy hair. He was so very nice and listened to me and explained what would work and wouldn't and suggested what I should do. I was so nervous, because I had been growing my hair out from that bad haircut back on my birthday and he was so wonderful to take the time to talk to me before he cut it. I can't say enough about Jose, I have been to him twice now and he is always so very kind and down to earth and the way he cuts my hair is exactly how I wanted it done, I was really happy with how he cut it. It's so refreshing to get a stylist who really listens to how you want your haircut and he always tells me and shows me what will and won't work with my hair. Jose is amazing at what he does!! Everyone there is so nice and if you ever need a haircut or stylist, I highly recommend Jose Bautista. David was my stylist and he took such good care of me. He asks a lot of questions about how I wear my hair, what products I use, and the style I would like. Then he accommodated look I was going for to my hair type. Everyone there was super friendly cluding Amanda. I love the mix of people there as well. It's such a multicultural group of stylist in such a small little store. That's so great to see so many different types of people working together and being friendly and funny with each other and their clients. I’m visiting my family from out of town and was in desperate need of a haircut...my mother suggested that I go to “her guy “ Jose, I was inpatient and just went to the first walk-in salon that I saw....needless to say my hair was butchered. So I listened to my mom (as I should have done to begin with) and we called Jose. Best decision ever! He cleaned up the mess that the other salon had made and was actually able to make my super short do look like a style I actually wanted and to top it all off, I was just in Publix where a gentleman stopped me to tell me how great he thought my hair cut looked!!! 2/11/2019 I've been going to Fantastic Sams for about twenty years, having the stylist, Vicki Grayson, cut, wash and style my hair. For about the past ten years, my wife, two daughters, six year old grandson and three other family members have also been seeing Vicki to have their hair styled, washed and colored. Besides having an excellent stylist cut our hair, the prices are alot more reasonable compared to other hair salons. My daughter started taking my grandson to Vicki, when he was two years old and has always liked the way Vicki interacted with him, helping him to sit still as she cut his hair. Now, my grandson is excited to have Vicki cut his hair! My family and I have all been very happy and pleased with Vicki. She has always been very professional and accommodating.

I have been going to this Fantastic Sams ever since my regular barber closed up shop and skipped town. I must say that I am not a big fan of the processed haircut stores like Supercuts and the themed barbershops such as Sport Clips, but Fantastic Sams is none of those things. It is a place where you can get a haircut at a reasonable price and reasonably quick. The man to see is Jose Bautista. He cuts both men’s and women’s hair. He’s always got a good attitude and doesn’t mind if you make special requests. He’s funny, he’s quick and best of all, he makes me look great. If you need to look good in a hurry, Jose is the man to see.

3 Saturdays ago I spent $100+ at Ginger Snaps in Tampa. I went there to get my gray/whole head colored to my natural color and highlights. I left with gray hair missed and highlights that I didn't even understand the placement of them along with frizzy hair. A week later, she set an appt to fix, I went back. I was 11mins late & she didn't have time due to 2 other appointments she had at the same time of appt she set for me. I left crying. This review isnt on the shop itself, i have been here like 3 other times before and got my hair cut by the same person, this blonde lady ( i dont know her name) and she did a very good job and i was very satisfied with how she cut my bangs and did my layers but, yesterday i went in to get the same hair cut and the lady from last time wasnt there instead this asian lady cut my hair (i dont know her name) and the way she did it my layers are uneven when i told her they seem uneven she would ask where u want me to cut, here? Shouldnt she know how to do layers? She made me feel very uncomfortable like if she didnt know what she was doing. My bangs didnt come out bad but even before she cut my bangs she was asking me how much bang i want to cut i understand she was just asking me questions but by looking at my hair you can tell where my bangs start since i aleady had them i just wanted them trimmed. And then the way she brushed my hair at the end just made it look bad so i ended up getting a blow dry and also the way she just kept asking me questions made me feel like she doesnt know what she is doing. Like i said i have been here before and have never had this experience and even when ive gone to other places i am always satisfied. She also was trying to use the excuse that my hair is wavy which has nothing to do with anything because they wet your hair before cutting it and like i said i always get the same haircut and ive never heard someone use the excuse that my hair is wavy. So thats why the layers are uneven? I dont think so. I mean My hair doesnt look too bad and the bangs are okay im just saying i dont think she does a good job cutting layers. I do not reccomend her for anyone who wants their hair in layers. Anyways i will still come here but i wont cut my hair with her again.

After reading reviews, I booked a haircut with Jose. While getting my haircut, we discussed correcting/stripping my hair color. I had processed my hair at home to lift a dark brown and had bleached twice with box kits over a couple months to still have a lot of yellow and orange hues. We agreed on how to move forward and set an appointment . It turned out exactly as we planned! I haven't been platinum in a decade but I'm very happy with the results. Jose also advised me on how to maintain it until my next visit. He was knowledgeable and fun to hang out with. After being in Tampa for almost a year, I finally found a stylist/colorist that I will stick with! I highly recommend him as well as the salon. Everyone working on both my visits were friendly and had an overall great culture.
