As someone with curly hair, I’ve struggled with finding someone who I trust to cut my hair for my whole life. I’ve walked out of salons more times than I can count with wet, unstyled hair…or resorting to having my stylist straighten it to avoid having to style it when I get home. And then I found Michelle at Sensa, and my experience with her was amazing! She gave me a beautiful cut that made my curls bounce, and she took the time to teach me how to care for my curls and recreate the magic once I got home. I’ve recommended her to multiple friends with curly hair and they’ve had the same great experience! Can’t wait for my next visit!

I have challenging hair. It is curly and thick, and as I’m getting older now it’s thick in weird places and less curly in other places and I have had WAY too many triangle, square or frizzy cuts in my life. I was desperate. Then I met Kelly at Sensa. This lady is a hair genius, and also hilarious and fun and did I mention a hair genius? I came in for my first visit four years ago, armed with pictures and ideas and she sat and chatted with me for a while. And I’ve never looked back. I’ve never had so many compliments on my hair in my life! Even during COVID with 8 months of grow out, people literally stopped me on the street to compliment my hair. The salon is beautiful, warm and friendly. But Kelly is the superstar that keeps me coming back.

I’ve been coming to Sensa for the last year and a half and it is by far the best salon I’ve been to. Everyone is talented and I’m always been pleased with the results. I’ve seen six different stylists due to my crazy schedule and every single one of them has done a great job! Everyone I’ve seen really listens to what it is I want and makes sure we are on the same page. This really shows in the end results. My hair has never been healthier, longer, or looked better than it does now. Excellent results aside, Sensa also has a great atmosphere. It’s welcoming, comfortable, and everyone is genuine. I know that doesn’t determine how your hair looks (don’t worry it will look phenomenal), but it definitely makes a difference when you’re there all day for an appointment. I enjoy seeing the Sensa fam. It makes my long appointments fly by and just adds to the already great experience. I highly recommend Sensa Salon to anyone wanting to look fly as hell.

I have been getting my hair cut and colored at Sensa since 2015, and it is hands down the best salon I have ever been to. I see the wonderful Alicia for regular balayage/foil highlights and color to cover up my grays, and I am always completely thrilled (!!!) with my results when I walk out. Most importantly, the entire staff is uniformly excellent. I am always inspired by the variety of different fun cuts and colors I see when I visit - everyone looks fabulous. Sensa staff is also very focused on continuing education (they are always using the latest products and techniques), so I’ve never felt like my look or service has been stale (despite being a creature of habit Alicia knows just how to mix things up enough to keep it fun and on trend). The salon itself is very clean and well kept, and everyone who works there is extremely professional and courteous. Their products are great, scheduling is easy (though they are so good they book far in advance!), and I always look forward to my appointments. All in all - I love this place, and I’ve never been happier. Get your hair done here!

When I moved to the Seattle area I knew that I needed to find a great curly hair stylist. I stumbled upon Sensa and have been a loyal customer for the last 4 years. Alicia is an incredible stylist always wiling to try out something fun, or give me her honest opinion of what style I should cut my hair in. Finding a great curly hair cut is not easy (you curly girls know what i'm talking about). I have had a few stylist here cut my hair over the years and I have never been disappointed. Great cuts, great people, great place!

I was ready to not love this cut, but I was proved wrong!!! When I arrived there was construction on the front wall and construction guys coming in and out and a ton of noise, the salon was running late, and things felt a little chaotic. I was ready to not like my haircut. There must have been a different appointment running over as I waited 30 minutes. I was 10 minutes away from leaving to get back to work! Lo and behold, I love my hair haha. It’s so cute. I was proven wrong! Alex was amazing. And although they did have me wait a bit they kept me updated so I knew I wasn’t forgotten. Even with not knowing my hair and me giving warnings about the thickness and my hair texture, Alex gave me exactly what I wanted. Alex is very sweet and his presence calming. I’m hard headed from growing up with a ton of hair and I was blown away with how gentle he was, usually hair dressers rip through my hair and Alex was able to get through it without any pulling even during a blowout. Excellent value for a luxury haircut in a somewhat chaotic space but still nice when you’re in your chair. I paid $100 including tip for a regular haircut and blowout. 1 star off for having to wait and for the front of the salon being under construction but I’m sure I was just there on a chaotic day. Lovely people at reception too. Unfortunately I was hit with the biggest wind gust coming off the sound wen I stepped out on to first iykyk so saaaad haha. Blowout is a little flatter now but still pretty.

Great experience with Landon and a super cute salon. Got a cut and color with Landon while visiting from our of town and it was perfect. It’s the best cut I’ve had in a long time and the color (a beautiful indigo) turned out better than I could ever imagine. He was patient, very detail oriented and easy to talk to. Would 100% recommend anyone see Landon for their styling needs. Next time I might try extension from him, too. Thank you, Landon.

It's been some years since I gave my patronage to a nice salon rather than cheap a barbershop. This was the one to bring me back though! So, I decided I wanted to start growing my hair+beard out again towards the end of covid. Then I managed to piggyback onto my wife's appointment with Dana. Dana is a true specialist, and a patient teacher. She's had a couple protege since I've been seeing her. While they learn, I get to learn too! In doing so, I better understand the value in their services, the nuance in their techniques. I have psoriasis and couple of wicked cowlicks. I have historically hated my hair, often cutting it all off in frustration or just for comfort. With Dana's help, I'm learning to love my hair and feel more comfortable in my skin. Don't let the locked door fool you. The staff are quite hospitable, yet they are also the first line of defense from street-level passerbys. They do wonders to keep the environment calm, clean, and fun. The clientele are kind as well, the lobby is cozy and beer is cold!

I can’t recommend this place enough, in particular Alex. I recently started going here and I’m so happy with the results. I’ve never dyed my hair before but really wanted to try out a purple balayage. Alex was amazing in explaining the entire process and making sure that he did exactly what I was looking for. He went out of his way and took his time in doing my hair. I love the results and couldn’t be happier that I found Alex. In the 4 years I’ve lived in Seattle, I hadn’t found a salon that I liked enough to keep going to. This is now my go-to salon and hairstylist !

As someone with A LOT of curly hair, I found my haven in sensa salon. My stylist is Lea and she’s wonderful. I had almost given up on getting a full head of highlights, due to past stylists refusing/quitting half way due to the amount of hair I have. But Lea did a beautiful full set of highlights and did it in record time! I’ve spend 5+ hours in chairs to only get a 1/2 head and walk out with wet hair. Lea did curly cut, a full head highlights and a blow out in less than 3 hours. Very happy with results and definitely recommend seeing Lea, especially for curly hair!

the job that Lea did is just beyond amazing, she got to know my hair history first and gave me some tips for my hair type. I couldn’t have imagined my hair to turn out so amazing, I have had long hair for a while now but it was damaged and thin at the bottom I decided to finally get it cut, it was a huge change but I think when you have a hairstylist you trust it’s so easy to make changes that seem scary at first. Alexsys! Alexsys! Alexsys!! Shes amazing! This was my second time at this salon and first time with Alexsys and I couldn’t have been more impressed, she’s super personable and makes you feel very comfortable, she listened to what I wanted, we talked about expectations, and she pulled another stylist to consult and confirm her thoughts which made me feel sooo reassured. the cut and color turned out to be perfect, I enjoyed my time with her so much and if I wasn’t moving out of the area she would be my go to hairdresser!! Such an incredible experience getting a balayage with Alicia the owner and haircut with Sarah. This salon is high quality and after trusting my hair with the same person for 4 years in Boston and recently moving to Seattle it’s safe to say I’ve found a permanent hair salon with Sensa. Alicia runs an amazing group of people and she takes great care with new clients. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for the best balayage! Covid wise I felt super secure. I can't say enough great things about Sensa and Alicia! Do yourself a favor, and go there for all things hair. I have a lot of hair, that is coarse/thick - and Alicia knows exactly what to do to give volume and texture. In addition to cuts, Alicia and the team do seriously excellent work on coloring. HIGHLY RECOMMEND to anyone looking for a hair cut or color. She always nails it, every single time. She is super professional, and even though she wants to know exactly how you want your hair (and can do it), she also explores options with you, if you are indecisive or don't know what you want (like me). At this point, I'd let Alicia do anything she wanted with my hair! I had never colored my hair before, and I let her take the reigns on a balayage in Fall 2020 and I am 100000% satisfied. Can't say enough nice things about her and her work/team. Bravo, Sensa!

I would definitely recommend getting your haircut by Kelly! She is amazing at cutting hair and also so funny. She gave me an awesome devacut, so if you have curly hair, you should definitely get it cut by her!!! She took her time washing my hair and explained all of the products she was using and how she was using them so I could do it at home. I'm new to wearing my hair curly and kelly made me feel confident in my curly hair and taught me how to style! The salon was also super nice and clean inside and everyone was really nice. There's a lot of free drink options, really kind and genuine front desk workers, and all of the stylists said hello! Sensa is great and I will definitely return.

I had wanted to try out the Habit hand tied extensions since I was sick of my thin hair and had just come to a plateau with growth. Alicia explained it all to me in perfect detail and educated me on all the aftercare. My hair turned out absolutely beautiful! Totally blended, seamless color and cut. I've never loved my hair more! I went in for a curly hair cut (deva cut) for the first time at Sensa Salon. I was pretty excited as it was my first one and I’ve heard such good things about it from fellow curly hair gals. Let me start off by saying I love my hair!! Sophia and her mentor Kelly did a wonderful job. They really took their time figuring out what direction I wanted to go with with my hair and took the time to fully explain the process. I really appreciated this because I wanted to go pretty light and have very dark brown hair. They explained that they would do this gradually so as not to damage my hair which I appreciated as I’ve had my hair badly damaged in the past by other hair dressers. They’ve made the process really delightful and I’ve finally been able to get to where I want with my hair!! I can honestly say this is my favorite cut and color I’ve had yet :)

The front counter was warm and welcoming once I entered. Sophie was incredibly knowledgeable about all of the products she was using, made sure to explain how they worked to me, and even helped me take before and after photos! Kelly was just, wow. I had an idea of what I wanted, but she sat and talked me through different options, looked through photos to get an idea, and even accommodated my request to shorten the style a bit more at the end! MY ALL TIME FAVORITE HAIRCUT. As a woman with curly hair, I’ve never enjoyed getting my haircut. And honestly don’t remember a time I’ve walked out of a hair salon satisfied. Well, Michelle at Sensa did it. I have never seen my hair this curly or felt as confident and happy as I did walking out of my haircut with Michelle. She recommended products and wasn’t afraid to give me lots of layers and body. I can’t recommend a curly cut as Sensa more. It’s worth the cost.

She ia a great listener, and has done wonders for my curly hair. I always leave feeling like a million bucks. Sophia assists with shampooing and gives tutorials on curly hair method. She is so patient, gives great advice and my hair literally never looks better than when she styles it. She also helps me with product selection. Sophia is a gem!

I have long, curly hair and I've gone my entire life so far not expecting much from hair salons as far as cutting and styling goes. I'd tell myself "It's okay if it's mediocre, as long as it's healthy I guess." This was the first time ever I left a salon feeling confident and thrilled not only about my haircut, but how my hair was styled (curly heads, I'm sure you're all too familiar with the messy blow dry post-haircut that's considered "styling"). However, I have never left a haircut appointment feeling as confident as I do when I go to this salon. Everyone is friendly and the stylists truly understand how to work with curly hair. My experince at Sensa was delightful. I felt welcomed and listened to from the moment I came in. I have 3c curly hair and have never had a person who wasn't black do my hair so I was anxious going in. Thankfully my stylist Sophia made me feel comfortable from the start of my cut to the end. She gave me a much needed trim and helped even out my hair, throughout the process she kept me in the loop and gave me tips + products to manage my hair at home. Thank you, Sophia! I will definitely be coming back! The one thing I would say is to invest in dividers to make women who wear the hijab or just people who want more privacy access to such a great salon.

I got hand tied hair extensions and a haircut from Kelly and Sophia. They are an absolute dream team. They perfectly matched my hair color with the extensions. They listened to my hair goals and took amazing care of me. I was offered wine and they sent me home with an amazing goodie bag with everything you need to care for your extensions. They are extremely detailed and I was truly amazed with how wonderful this salon was. They do a lot of training and really care about knowing the latest and greatest in the industry. I have already pre booked 4 appointments and I can’t wait to go back. After searching for years, I have finally found a hair salon I LOVE! Thank you Kelly and Sophia!! I also think it’s important to note that the salon as a unit is top notch. You can tell the employees here are treated well and are happy. I wasn't satisfied with the coloring job so the salon reached out to me literally 30 minutes after I left a review online! They asked me to come in so they can fix my hair for free so I will be satisfied with the end result. You guys! I went in and they gave me a partial foil and my hair looks amazing! I am very happy with the blonde, the blending job is exactly how I wanted it to be! I highly recommend this salon, they will definitely make sure you walk out of there FULLY SATISFIED!! OLD REVIEW: I really wanted to like this salon!! My haircut looks BOMB, my experience with Sarah was amazing, but my blonde hair color job is not satisfactory. This is probably the worst coloring job I ever had. I asked for a full head of highlights because my hair has grown out so much. I wanted to be as blonde as possible and my hair right next to the roots is darker than the hair that grew out, the blending job is terrible, you can clearly see the line where the old blonde colors meets the new one. I am not as blonde as I wanted to be, usually I would ask for the same thing in every salon I went to and my experiences have always been amazing. But this time the coloring job is truly a disappointment, especially for the most expensive salon visit I ever had, which cost me $300. In the pictures you can clearly see that there is a line between darker and lighter blonde tones, and how terrible and not smooth the blending is. I am very disappointed with the coloring job. I probably won't be coming back here again. I am giving two stars for the cute haircut and good service, but taking away 3 stars for the poor coloring job.

If you go to sensa salon, you need to ask for Kelly!! Kelly and Sophia are absolute geniuses.They will always listen to what YOU want, but also give advice and guidance when needed. Talented, friendly, and all around experts at what they do. I've beencoming to them for over a year now and will never go anywhere else as long as I'm in Seattle!!

Alicia gave me the absolute best haircut in my life! And I've been going for haircuts for over 23 plus years to the absolute best hairdressers in the business, all over the world! For real, I have literally lived in several different countries and have been to so many different hairdressers who've been trained by some of the best. Of course that doesn't mean they can cut curly hair! But I actually got a really really good Deva cut with Alicia! I've only ever had one other hair stylist do such a good job with my hair. I am absolutely in awe! She is such a nice person as well and so caring. Definitely recommend her! You are the best Alicia!

Found Heidi on referral from a friend and so glad I was able to get on her schedule! Was going to West Seattle previously for years and with the bridge closed, was worried about finding someone who would be more conveniently located and was talented and great! Couldn't be happier with Heidi's talents. She is creative, honest, and very down to earth. The salon is always clean and feels really safe in the pandemic environment. It's also important to me how employees are treated and the vibe seems very friendly here. Very happy client here and my hair looks pretty dang great!

Jayde is AMAZING! She is probably the best colorist I've ever seen and my hair always looks amazing each time I leave. I have seen Jayde for root touch-ups, balayage and to get ready for my wedding! Jayde has extensive hair product knowledge and keeps me up-to-date on what I should be using or new products I might like. She tries products on her own hair before recommending them to make sure they actually work. I highly recommend her!! Sensa Salon as a whole is also so great and I'm so glad I discovered them after moving to Seattle. Everyone here is so kind and welcoming and I enjoy coming!

I recently had hair extensions put in from Kelly, and WOW. I mean, from the consultation to the end result, I've been amazed during it all. During my consultation, there was absolutely no pressure to proceed, and she was very transparent about pricing. Of course I felt comfortable and wanted to move forward with getting them put in ASAP. I'm SO happy I decided on extensions. You can tell Kelly truly cares about every single aspect of the process, and her skill is off the charts. I rarely write reviews but I was super excited to share the great experience I had at Sensa Salon. To make a long story short, I contacted Sensa after I had received an all over hair bleach from another salon that left me looking like a baby chicken. I was panicked as I had a whole day of video interviews for my new job the next day. I searched google for salons who could color correct and came across Sensa. I reached out and had the pleasure of speaking to Mae (who is the best). She listened, empathized and went through the list of stylist who were great at color and that could get me in ASAP. Two hours later I was sitting in Ainsley's chair a little apprehensive but willing to give it another go. Ainsley explained a technique to bring some additional dimension to my hair and to tone the bright/yellowness until my hair was a bit longer for foil highlights. Ainsely then brought over the color swatches and spent time with me looking at photos of my hair before the bleach and trying to understand what I was looking for. She then took time to meticulously apply the toner and root smudge. The results were fantastic! My hair looked natural and definitely more like me. I can't wait to visit again for those highlights. Ainsely and Sensa really saved the day.

10/10 experience from consult to install to maintenance. Kelly installed my hair extensions recently and I mean it when I say they are everything I've dreamed of and more! My confidence has gone through the roof--it's been life changing. It's very obvious she knows exactly what she's doing and isn't going to rip you off just to put more money in her pocket. Not to mention, she's available on Instagram DM for questions, last-minute schedule changes and recommendations whenever which was been super helpful! Her transparency, authenticity, flexibility and raw talent make her the ideal stylist. I'm relatively new to Seattle and now that I've found my place, I won't go anywhere else to get my hair done. It truly feels like you're treating yourself starting the second you walk in the door. And everyone else at the salon is so nice and welcoming too. Nothing but positive things to say about Sensa!

Nice vibes and professional stylists! I get the Brazilian blow out done on my natural 3C curls and have had the best results here! They actually listen to the look I’m going after and deliver it spectacularly. They’ve helped me keep a natural curl (usually around a 3A which I request) look while reducing frizz and helping me gain length. They’ve also given me an amazing deva cut before, I’ve always had trust issues with hair cuts while my hair is curly but now I have a place I feel comfortable with that. Other salons I’ve had poor results with straightening my curls out way too much or using weak products that do nada. Highly recommend this salon for fellow curly folks :)
