I absolutely loved my experience at Coven! I have very curly hair and often struggle with leaving salons frizzier than I walked in. Lydia at Coven handled my hair with such care and explained her technique every step of the way. My hair has never felt healthier! Will definitely be coming back :)

I absolutely love this salon. I'm a transplant from the East coast and after going to the same person for 8 years I was skeptical about finding a new stylist but I was so fortunate to stumble upon Coven. First of all the aesthetic is TO DIE FOR. Super fun witchy vibes and a beautful bright space. Everyone that works here is so friendly and makes you feel special and welcome. A huge shout out to Luci who is an absolute queen. She's funny, warm, and goes above and beyond to make sure you are happy and feel comfortable throughout the process. She does an amazing job with my textured hair and is just a lovely person to be around. I won't be going to anyone else as long as I'm in Seattle.

B welcomed me from the moment I walked in with such warmth, enthusiasm, and kindness that I knew I wasn't just in a salon but a really beautiful community space. I then got a phenomenal curly haircut from Scott who was INCREDIBLE - so knowledgeable about hair, really listened and sought to understand what I was looking for, took his time, checked in every step of the way, was an absolute joy to talk to, and gave me the best curly hair cut I've ever had. UPDATE: Both the stylist (by phone) and salon (below) reached out in good faith regarding the lack of clear communication with me after they canceled my appointment. Responsibility was taken, I was heard, apologized to, and no one has asked me to take down or revise my review, which I was kind of waiting for. Yes the ball was dropped, but they've said so, and I can appreciate that. - Thanks - Revised (cause I wanted to) Long story short - very good experience with booking, very bad experience with cancelation communication, good experience with taking responsibility for the bad experience. I'd already had my hair cut elsewhere by the time of their offer, but I'd be willing to try them again in the future since the curly hair reviews seem great. Was especially impressed with the phone call from Dez, the stylist who had to call out sick. Dez (who still sounded a bit sick when calling me the next day) really listened and was present during our conversation, which is what you ultimately want when someone is cutting your hair, especially for the first time. I'd suggest a "we give you *some small %* off your service if we cancel on you and *higher %* off if within 24 hours" policy since they've upped their cancelation policy to the full amount of the scheduled service if the customer cancels within 24-hours. Everyone has to be a customer at some point. Support small businesses. Let people make it right when the ball gets dropped.

I absolutely found my spot. I wanted to find a stylist that knows how to work with latina hair. In scheduling my first visit I called the salon and described my hair they paired me with Nephyrtt. She's on point, my second visit with her proved she knows thicker hair. I showed her a photo of my cut and color that I wanted to achieve. She understands skin tone and hair color nuances to compliment an overall beauty. I love my final results and exactly what I asked for. Photos taken the next day after a night of sleep.

First time visiting Coven, and got an amazing haircut by Luci! I went pixie short from a frizzy bob that I couldn't make look good. My new cut is everything I wanted!! Luci checked in with me along the way to make sure we were on the same page, which was really nice since this was a big jump for me. Totally recommend, and will definitely be going back! :)

Wow. I'm SUPER picky about my hair. I've been burned a lot. Sara did superb! I will be back to her in no time. She was professional but spunky. Misha was also amazing. Emily is amazing - I love the way she cut my curls! I've never had a haircut as good as the one I got the other day. The shape is exactly what I wanted and she taught me how to style my dry and coarse curls with ease. Ive struggled with my curls for the longest time and I am just so happy with my results. Jane gives perfect haircuts that look cute for a long time without having to do a ton of maintenance. I have sort of straight/wavy-ish hair with a lot of personality, but I don't have the patience to pay attention to it on a daily basis. Jane works with the hair you got and brings out the best in it so that it looks good even if you're throwing it back into a ponytail (great bangs and wisps to frame your face). Plus, she's just a delightful human who's fun to talk with! Can't wait to book a much-needed haircut with her once it's safe to get back out and do these things.

Came for the first time to get a haircut on many recommendations. My stylist was Dez Abdullah and she did an amazing job. If you have curly hair like me, definitely check out Coven. These people understand curly hair and work with your hair to ensure to get a perfect cut. Dez was so nice and helpful, I already have my next haircut scheduled. It was a bit expensive, $80 for the wash and cut, but she spent a lot of time making sure my hair was right. It is worth it for me because I only get my hair cut every 6 months, so the price isn't bad considering that. So glad I found them!

I just moved to area and was happy to find this salon that caters to curly hair. The whole process of my new hairstyle has been incredibly pleasant. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful over the phone and I was lucky to get an open spot with Emily, one of the owners. She asked questions and listened to my problems concerning my hair to get a good understanding of what I and my hair needed. She did a lot of education with me so that I could recreate the amazing no frizz hairstyle that she gave me. As someone with curly hair herself, she could appreciate the routine of trying lots of products to find the right combo and was not pushy at all with buying new products, instead she sent me home with ample samples so that I could make a better decision on what really would work for me at home. I highly recommend this salon to anyone with curly hair and honestly, to other hair types, as I saw that the stylists are quite versatile in their talents.

I have been a customer for 10+ years. They have seen my hair through weird "growing back from chemo curls" to falling out from drug cancer therapy post chemo, to too busy to style. They also cut my daughter's hair which is a Greek thick curly head and she will only go them. Their business isn't dependent on just one person. I have been looking for my long-term stylist relationship after several less than great experiences in the area, and I have finally found it with Jenna! Jenna had to fix my platinum pixie gone wrong (really bad color and really bad cut), and now it is perfect! Jenna is the best stylist I have been to, plus she is super sweet! The salon is so much fun-- all of the stylist are laughing and chatting and make all of their clients feel welcome and beautiful. No pretentiousness (like many other high end Seattle salons), just really wonderful people doing their job exceptionally well and clearly loving what they do.

Emily. Knows. Curl. She has it herself and knows to cut dry. She gave me layers cut just for my curls and quickly understood what I wanted when I showed her a picture. The decor of the salon is awesome--great art and even vintage books in the waiting area. Prices are reasonable, especially for curly cuts, and free parking is available down residential side streets nearby.

OH MY GOSH! Coven is the most welcoming, friendliest place in town. All the stylists are super talented, and each has their own superpower. Whenever I see a rad lady around town with really great color, and I ask her who does her hair - the answer is almost ALWAYS Jenny Slay. Where else are you welcomed with a can of Ranier or a glass of prosecco -- your choice? It's a super Steel Magnolias vibe, if you catch my drift. You can feel how much these ladies care for each other and take pride in their work. Going there is FUN.

Lydia did an amazing job! My hair is curly and SUPER thick, and it's so hard to find folks with the skill and patience to cut it in a way that tames the volume/shape. Lydia nailed it on my first visit--she actually listened when I described what I wanted and was meticulous in making sure she achieved it. My hair feels and looks better than it has in years. I can't recommend Coven, and Lydia specifically, highly enough for anyone with "difficult" hair!
