Not too bad on pricing plus the lady did a really good job on my hair plus was fun to talk to so definitely would head back for another haircut. Only downside here is they are pretty packed so I doubt they'll take walk ins. Definitely should call ahead and schedule an appointment.

Amazing experience as an out-of-towner there for the week. Kelsey is the absolute best! I've gotten so many compliments from folks at home. The location is very inclusive, with tons of personality. I literally may book a weekend trip in a few months just to come back for a cut.

I wanted to go full blonde and she broke down the process of going blonde and recommended a balayage and also recommended what colors would go great with my skin tone.I get nervous when people do my hair yet she Took great care of me. In Oct. I was seen by Ashley & she was lovely! She was unavailable today for what I needed so I went to Sam & she did a great job! My color is PERFECT. I have curly hair & have had a lot of bad experiences where people don't know what to do and just sort of guess. Sam did a great job communicating with me about what I wanted and when she was unsure of how to do something she consulted with another stylist & they came up with a plan together. I love that she was confident in her abilities & she gave me an amazing cut & dye. This salon is awesome & I would def recommend to others:)

Although my hair guy is gone , I go and try the other stylists. I am still happy with the cuts and $40 is about my budget. Sure I can go to a barbershop and get it done for 20 bucks. But if you’re gonna be cheap then don’t complain about price when you’re getting more than a barber shop cut. I think the prices are comparable and competitive.

This review is specifically for Kim and I'm sorry for not writing this a long time ago. Kim has been cutting my hair for years and don't trust anyone else with my curly hair. She is so meticulous, patient and dedicated. She always spends time to make sure every detail of my haircut is right and never rushes. When I come back even after pretty long intervals, she remembers the haircut she gave me last time and how I like it. She also has a calming energy that always puts me at ease when I'm feeling nervous about changing my hairstyle. Kim is the best there is, I would rate her 10 stars if I could. I would never go to anyone else, but I've been away from New Orleans temporarily so can't always get back there. I followed Kim over to here from Rocket Science. As for Stardust, I've always had a positive experience and have no complaints.

I’m from 3 hours away and decided to get a haircut on a whim today while in town. Stardust’s innovative website design allowed me to select which hair stylist I wanted based on their availability. I found a hair dresser that could see me within the next 30 minutes. I selected Catherine, at random, and was pleasantly welcomed in when I arrived. I could not have imagined a better hair stylist. Her technique is superb and she is very easy to talk to. My hair looked, felt, and smelled great when I left. My experience with Catherine has made me decide that I should drive 3 hours south whenever I need a haircut!

Rebecca is the absolute best! The whole salon is amazing, but my experience with her as my stylist was above and beyond what I anticipated. Not only did my hair turn out beautifully and exactly as we discussed, but by the end of the appointment I felt that I had made a friend as well. CJ is amazing - she went above and beyond to make sure my girlfriend was in love with her new cut. She even offered for us to come back the next day for a touch up if it wasn’t absolutely perfect. We came to her when we were visiting NOLA and are sick about it that we haven’t found anyone as good as her back home. Everyone in this industry should be as committed to customer vision and satisfaction as CJ was. 10/10 Would recommend to anyone!!!!

I really loved this salon! I was looking for a new place since moving to New Orleans, and I found it with this place. The staff are wonderful and friendly, the space is very cool, and I loved my haircut. Aly gave me a fresh, fun look that will work well while I grow it out long (which is what I had asked her to do). Reasonable price to me (at least coming from Boston, it was about $30 cheaper than a nice salon cut there). They also suggested lots of tips and products when I asked about how to take better care of my hair.

I owe Sarah my first born. I came in for a consultation about 2 years ago after having my hair absolutely destroyed from a salon down the road, just months before my wedding. I looked like a Florida sunset with a HORRIBLE chemical cut. Sarah was able to save what was left of my hair and recommended products and treatments so I could keep my length for my wedding. She was able to bring me back to pretty much my natural color AND texture of hair for the big day.. I honestly didn't think it was going to be possible without shaving my head, but she did it! She just finished cutting off pretty much all of my botched bleached ends and gave me a sassy cut and rich, beautiful color. That woman restored not only my hair but my confidence. Sarah's skill and knowledge in the hair industry is beyond anything I have ever experienced. I just feel so lucky to have been placed in her chair in the first place.

Salon is clean, hip, lively. I went for a hair trim/cut, and am glad I chose this place. The staff is friendly, the shampoo stations are set up so that you don't strain your neck. I had KIM do my cut. She is a wiz with curly hair, and she was super accommodating with my tight schedule. I love my cut, and I will go back to her for sure. She also didn't push products on me (which I find to be common in salons). She used the products on my hair she thought would best fit my hair type, and in fact I was very impressed (not sticky, not oily, not crunchy). I plan to purchase one or two of the styling products she used. KIM IS A CURL QUEEN. <3

This is a terrific salon in a picturesque building on Magazine Street with a welcoming bohemian vibe. Nice staff and a relaxed atmosphere, not snooty or uppity like some salons. I've been going to Trent for years, and I love him! He's totally professional and expert in the hair arts, yet always has some good gossip and always makes me laugh. The rest of the staff is just as professional and friendly, and I also enjoy looking at all their beautiful tattoos. :-)

The building is adorable and in a great spot on magazine street. I've been getting my hair cut by Kim and it has been a long time since I've had someone so talented with curly hair! I'm absolutely obsessed with my hair again and I don't plan on seeing anyone else for my hair needs any time soon.

I did not get to come here for a hair cut, but upon calling the lady Kaitlin (Idk how she spells her name), she was SO NICE! I wish I would have been able to make my walk in booking, but I was too delayed to make it on time. Im from out of town, but if I could come back just for a hair cut I would definitely have an appointment for this location!!!

I've been going to Stardust for years, and no matter which stylist I end up seeing, the quality and results are ALWAYS awesome! Everyone there knows EXACTLY what they are doing. And if you show them pictures and just talk to the stylist about what you're looking for, they will take a minute to really figure it out with you, and will tell you what they plan to do before they even start, just to make sure that you are both on the same page. It's a very professional environment, but not pretentious like other salons in town. They tell you the product they are using, but they don't try to push you to buy anything at all. It's just such a great salon, with really cool people who are doing exactly what they want to do - so of course you'll get a really great result every time!

Cat was incredible! I wanted to try going blonde for the first time ever. I have dark brown hair that's never been colored so I didn't know what to expect. She listened to everything I wanted and set the right expectations for what color we could get today and I ended up with a beautiful almost strawberry blonde/copper look. It's amazing!

For anyone with curly hair, go see Kim at the Magazine location! She does such a GREAT job with curly hair. My hair is a pain to deal with, but after working with her, I've fallen in love with my curls all over again! She is by far the best stylist I've ever had!

Stardust Salon is such a gem!!! They have AMAZING stylists who are so very skilled and just a joy to be around. My hair process (corrective coloring and a cut) took almost 5 hours and I really got to see what so many of their stylists can do. And on top of the very impressive job they were doing, everyone was so upbeat and having a great time doing it. Not to mention, the salon itself is in this charming old building and is just phenomenal. I drove all the way in from Baton Rouge to this salon and I will continue to do so any time I need anything done. I could not be more pleased. I do have to give a little shout out to Argerie Villalobos, my unbelievably talented hairdresser, who never ceases to amaze me and was the reason that I started going to Stardust. Best thing that ever happened!!! You will NOT be disappointed in ANYTHING about this place!

I came in to Stardust over a week ago with overgrown roots and severely damaged bleached hair. I was trying to bring my hair to a silvery ash blonde without cutting too much off or damaging it even more. Ashley took the time to really understand what I was wanting and to work with me to find the best option for my hair. She listened to what I wanted and gave me EXACTLY what I asked for. A few days later when I felt that I wanted my roots a bit darker, she was flexible and accommodating enough to fit me in immediately and to stay late after Stardust closed in order to make sure that I was happy with how my roots looked, and she didn't even charge me for the touch up. Ashley is a hair goddess, incredibly talented, and was super nice and patient through the whole process. I will absolutely be back and recommend her/Stardust to my friends.

Great service, amazing staff! I visited for the first time, and received the best haircut I've got so far. I also got some really nice advice on conditioning it and taking a bit more care about it. It was a bit of an unplanned visit, so I didn't make a prior reservation, but they took me in anyways, seeing that I was in a hurry. Makayla is a miracle worker! I came to her with VERY broken and chemically damaged hair. She rose to the challenge and transformed my broken into beautiful, healthier hair. She, as well as the rest of the staff, are such gems and take wonderful care of their clients. The environment in the salon is very relaxed and comfortable, and they always offer you coffee! (Seriously take it, it's slammin.) All in all, very pleased with my experiences at this salon and their professional, talented, quality work. (Seriously Makayla is for real amazing!)

Kim is truly a master stylist in every since of those words. I had my hair ruined by not one but two other stylist before I came on vaction here to new orleans. I spent quite abit of money and had ben walking around in a three dollar hairband. One side was shorter than the other. I can't describe what all was wrong with my hair when I came into the stardust other than a mess. When I sat down and talked with kim and told her of my situation she understood. I did not expect a mirical but what I got was not far from it. She turned my ruined haircut into a beautiful short bob. She was so patient. She really took the time needed to turn a ruined haircut into something worthy walking around and showing off. Goodby to hairband. I got home and noticed still yet a little more that needed some attention. I went back to kim the next day and showed her and she sat me dowm once again and started to work on my hair When finished I wemt over to pay the bill and she stoped me and said it was of no charge. I highly recommend the stardust salon to anyone. Especially kim. Master stylist. Also I needed color correctecd. Cameron did an exceptioal recolor. The highlights are amazing. I highly recommend Cameron.

I LOVE MY HAIRDRESSER !!! Erica is amazing. I went to her for the first time to correct a low-light that came out more strawberry blonde than brunette on my naturally blonde hair. After 3 minutes of knowing me, asking questions about my vision, and describing her vision, she landed the PERFECT color. She encourages honesty and wants to be upfront about the services she provides BEFORE doing anything because she wants her customer happy. She even said, "I want you to like it, but I also want it to look good because your hair is my advertisement. It's a symbol of me and my work so I have to nail it". So, she cares about you and her job. Honestly, I wish I came here years ago when I moved here. I started at Aveda and although I liked my colorist, it wasn't sustainable to pay $130+ on a color/cut every couple weeks. Erika is affordable and AS TALENTED as any of the colorists I've ever had. I'm moving back to NYC and told myself I will return to NOLA every couple months to ensure she continues to do my hair and enjoy this city. I highly recommend her for blondes and ombre. Not to mention, she is bubbly, funny, modern, and intelligent. Our conversations are always silly! She's become a friend now. As for the shop, the energy is edgy, fun, creative, and really casual. It's a perfect location in the LGD/uptown and parking is easy since it is on the street. Weirdly enough, I think the hair-washing chairs are the comfiest chairs I have ever sat in (EVER). Appointments are easy to book and I can usually schedule an appointment that week. I would recommend this place to any tourist and local. Hope you enjoy it as much as I!
